Hello boys and girls, young and old. Welcome to yet another action figure video review.
Today we'll take a look at Transformers Toyworld TW-D05 Spear aka G1 Swoop!
And as you can see, Swoop comes with a medium-sized box. You see him here in his robot mode.
On the top side of the box you see the Toyworld logo.
On the bottom side of the box you see some warnings.
On the side of the box you see Swoop in both of his modes.
On the other side of the box you see Swoop in his robot mode.
And on the back side of the box you see Swoop in both of his modes.
Enough with the box, let's see the accessories of the figure.
Swoop comes with this sticker.
He comes with this card.
Tech specs on the other side of the card.
And of course he comes with the instructions, here they are.
And this is the back side of the instructions.
So let's see the figure from close now.
And here we have, ladies and gentlemen, Swoop in his Dino mode. I have mixed feelings about this figure.
First of all, as you can see he looks like a cube with wings! I must say that I don't like his Dino mode.
The head is nice. The wings are nice. The legs are ok. But the body is very awful! He looks like a cube!
He also has stability issues. As you can see he falls easily. He cannot stand properly.
Reprolabels stickers have been placed on the figure. So let's see them now.
The Autobot symbol here is a sticker. These two bits here are stickers.
This yellow bit here is a sticker. From the other side as well.
These two bits here are stickers. Stickers have been placed on the wings.
One, two, three, four, five, six, all these here are stickers.
From the other side, these three here are stickers. These green bits here are stickers.
And finally, these two here are stickers. Many extra details, nice stickers.
As for his articulation...his head can move up and down, the mouth can open-close.
Also, the head can rotate. Also the Dino head can get easily disconnected from
the robot head so be careful when you play with it.
The wings can bend at three points. Here, here and here.
The legs can also bend at three points. Here, here and here on the toe.
It can move back and forth, hard to show it 'cause it's very tight.
The foot is on a ball-joint so we have a nice range of motion.
Swoop comes with four weapons.
With these two guns. As you can see Swoop fell down...stability issues...
He also comes with these two swords. As for his weapons storage...
You can tab the guns in these holes here. The swords can be stored in this peg here.
Like this or from the other side. And it will look like this.
I will give you a size comparison now to see how he looks next to other figures.
Here is Toyworld Swoop next to Planet X Swoop.
As you can see, Toyworld Swoop is much bigger than Planet X Swoop.
And here we have all the Toyworld Dinobots together!
As you can see they look very impressive! They look very nice all together!
So let's transform Swoop into his robot mode. I will ask my buddy Stefanos to do it, Stefanos?
- Hello from me as well. So let's see how to transform this awful box into the robot mode because personally, for me, it is a box.
First, rotate the feet and bring the legs up.
Fold them out, like this.
This piece here will come up and it will lock the leg. Close these panels. And now rotate the leg like this.
Now the annoying part comes: you must "play" with the joint to see how you will tab it so you can bring the foot to the front.
This is the hardest part of the transformation. And it will look like this.
Do the same thing to the other side as well. Lock the leg. Rotate it. Close these panels.
Ok we did it. Bring these pieces down.
As you can see he has missile-pads here. Bring these pieces down to cover the missiles.
They don't tab anywhere. Disconnect the arms from here.
Bring the arms up and then rotate it to bring it down. Do the same thing to the other side as well.
Bring it up. Rotate it. Bring it down. Open these panels to take out the fists.
Do the same thing to the other side as well.
Bring the Dino head down. There is a slot here, it will tab to this peg here.
As for the wings...
They have these panels here, we need to disconnect them but they're very tight!
So we can fold the wing. This one here is especially tight...
Do his wings the way you want.
Come on...
And Swoop is ready in his robot mode.
- And here we have, ladies and gentlemen, Swoop in his robot mode!
His robot mode is much better than his Dino mode. He has nice proportions as you can see.
The only stickers that we can see in his robot mode are these ones here on his thighs.
As for his articulation...the wings can rotate up and down, they move back and forth, you can put them however you want.
His head can rotate 360 degrees, it can look a little bit up and down.
The arm can move up and down, in and out from this joint here. It can move in and out from this joint as well.
Rotates at the upper part of the arm, double-joint elbow. There is also fist rotation, the hand can open-close.
There is also waist rotation.
The legs can move back and forth, up and down, rotate at the thighs, bend at the knee.
And the toe can move up and down and a little bit left and right. He has good articulation, not bad.
One of his drawbacks is that the Dino head doesn't tab properly in here, it comes out easily.
But ok, I can live with it... Also, he can hold his weapons perfectly fine.
And he will look like this.
I will give you a size comparison now to see how he looks next to other figures.
Here is Toyworld Swoop next to Planet X Swoop. And again, Toyworld Swoop is bigger than Planet X Swoop.
Here he is next to a deluxe class figure, Generations Drift and next to a voyager class figure, Generations Roadbuster.
As you can see Swoop is a little bit bigger than a voyager class figure.
And here is Swoop with the Dinobot team. As you can see they all look great together.
So let's transform Swoop back into his Dino mode, Stefanos?
- First, put his fists inside...
Which is not the easiest thing 'cause there is not enough space to open the panels.
We will do the wings so we can bring the arms back, like this.
Connect the arms now.
Bring the Dino head up and connect it to the robot head. Bring these pieces up.
Open these panels from here. Bring the foot up and connect it here.
Do the same thing to the other side as well.
Rotate the legs to the other side. Open these panels from here.
Open the safety from here. And now fold the leg inwards, like this.
And that panel that we opened before will cover this space here.
Do the same thing to the other side as well.
Bring his legs down. Rotate the feet.
Finally, open the wings, open these panels and connect them here.
And Swoop is back into his Dino mode.
It would be nice...if I can make him stand... :P
And since Swoop is a combiner, let's see his combine mode! First, bring the arms up.
And remove the wings.
Before we continue I wanna show you the wings. The wings will tab to the back side of Grimlock.
For the combine mode, disconnect the panels, open them and tab them to this hole.
So now we will have a bigger wingspan. We will see it when we will combine all the figures together.
And again, bring the legs up. Fold them out.
Put the safety in, like this. Rotate the leg. And before we tab it, fold it inwards, like this.
And now close these panels. Do the same thing to the other side as well.
Close these panels as well.
Come on...
Connect the legs now.
Bring these pieces down so you can bring the arms to the sides, like this.
Bring the Dino head back so we can bring out the connector. I will use a tool to bring the connector out.
Bring these pieces up again. Rotate the arms and bend them like this.
Extend the waist to reveal the elbow joint for the combine mode.
Take the hand and connect it here. And Swoop is ready in his arm mode.
You can also place his guns on the sides of the Dino legs if you want. And it will look like this now.
As for his articulation...it can bend at the elbow, it can rotate at the bottom part.
The connector can move up and down.
There is fist rotation. The thumb is on a ball-joint, it can move up and down and it can bend at two points.
The four fingers can bend at three points, here, here and here. Also, these black bits here, from both sides, are stickers.
So this is Swoop in his arm mode.
- Final thoughts...I didn't like his Dino mode. Yes the head is nice, the wings are nice, the feet are ok but the body is awful.
His robot mode is nice. He has nice articulation as well.
The Reprolabels stickers give him nice extra details. That's all from me, Stefanos?
- Indeed. His Dino mode is very awful. Extremely awful!
His robot mode is nice, very nice compared to the Dino mode.
The stickers gave many colours to his chromed wings, they broke the monotony.
His articulation is good. I am curious to see them all combined.
