Youtube daily report w Jan 22 2017

Hello! My name is Jefferson Roma, I am 13 and I'd love to draw.

My family leaves 30 kilometers from Bangui,

capital of Central African Republic.

Two weeks ago I had a high fever,

my mum asked for medicines at the dispensary near our house

and the nurses there told her that my condition was serious

and that they were taking me to the hospital

I like people here. They are treating me

without asking any money to my family

they are very kind and they teach us how to wash our hands properly

and tell moms what food is more nutritious and suitable for children

and how they can understand when we're sick and we need a doctor.

I'm so happy because this way my sister,

who's only five,

won't have the same problems that I have.

They've also taught many things to the dispensary staff

so they'll be able to help more children in my village.

Until I get better I can't go home

but with the help of the people I met here

I'll soon be able to draw

and to colour my stories again.

Thank you.

How to Make Thai Chili Frog (ผัดเผ็ดกบ) — Delicious Village Thai Food Eating! - Duration: 12:10.

- We're all sitting down for lunch now

and they also have a couple of other dishes

that Ying's mom and aunt made.

I'm gonna start with the frog though.

(cheerful ukulele music)

Hey everyone, it's Mark Wiens with migrationology.com.

I'm in Nakhon Sawan in central Thailand

and today for lunch,

Ying's aunt said that she's gonna cook up some frog.

So stay tuned for some delicious frog.

And also I wanna remind you,

if you're not already subscribed,

make sure you click subscribe

for lots more food and travel videos.

Okay, now I'm kinda squatting in the banana field.

Let's go see what she's cooking.

She's getting ready to cook right over there.

Right now at first she's just pounding up

some chilies and garlic.

Oh yeah, there's a whole bag of green peppercorns here.

Oh, these are one of my favorite things

in the entire world.

I love them so much that I need to

take a bite of it right now.

And then she's pounding it now with the--

(speaking in foreign language)

Now she's pounding it up with the curry paste.

(loud crunching and pounding)

(package rustling)

(speaking in foreign language)

These are some big meaty frogs.

You can see those muscles on those hind legs.

(speaking in foreign language)

(cheerful ukulele music)

(loud pounding)

(speaking in foreign language)

I think she's not gonna mince it fully

but just kinda chop it up

into little bite size kinda pieces.

That is some really meaty frog.

Okay and as she is finishing chopping the frog,

I'm gonna snack on some green pepper.

(loud crunching)

I love it.

Oh, it's so spicy

when it's fresh like this.

And so much of a like pure pepper flavor.

Oh it's wonderful.

I can snack on this like popcorn.

It's so good.

And this one is spicy

but sometimes it can be spicier.

Like sometimes it can really,

oh okay, I can feel that burning down my throat now.

Lighting up that wok

and first goes in a bunch of oil.

Oh, a bunch of oil.

And then in goes all of that curry paste

and chilies and garlic that she pounded up.

Oh, that's like a, an oil bath.

That is gonna bring out some serious flavor.

(loud scraping and sizzling)

That curry paste and chilies is just kinda

sizzling in that oil for a little while

and she is washing some of the green peppercorns.

(speaking foreign language)

(loud scraping and sizzling)

This aroma of frying chilies and garlic and curry paste

just never gets old.

It's one of the greatest aromas on earth.

And now goes in the frog,

all of that frog.

(loud scraping and sizzling)

(laughing)

(speaking foreign language)

And as that frog is cooking away

she's taking the leaves off some bai kaphrao

which is holy basil.

I'm gonna go ahead and stir up the frog.

Oh, this is gonna be oily and delicious.

(loud scraping and sizzling)

And she just said that if you add a lot of the holy basil

it will smell really good.

It will have a really nice fragrance.

And then in go all of those green peppercorns.

And then the final step is to add in all of the basil

and you always wanna add the basil at the end

and then immediately turn off the fire

or not cook it very long

because it will start to lose its flavor

as it cooks longer.

So you just wanna basically throw it in at the end

let it use the heat from the preexisting meat and oil

and things inside of the dish

and just let that holy basil wilt into the dish.

(loud scraping and sizzling)

(speaking in foreign language)

That's a countryside style hot pad.

And it is ready.

She said it's fully cooked

and all that basil has just wilted down.

We're all sitting down for lunch now

and they also have a couple of other dishes

that Ying's mom and aunt made.

They're a selection of fried meats and fish.

This is the dried fried catfish.

This is another dried fried fish.

Some moo tod, which is fried pork.

And then I'm gonna, I'm gonna start with the frog though.

It's definitely on the oily side

but it looks and smells so good.

Oh, I gotta get some of that basil though too.

Big chunk of basil there.

Alright, let me start with this.

And I'm not sure, I think the best way

will just be to bite it, eat it,

and then remove the bones.

Oh yeah.

Or maybe you can just bite right through the bones.

Or maybe not.

It is pretty oily but that flavor is incredible.

The red chilies.

What I really like are the green peppercorns in there.

The garlic, the basil.

It's just a harmony of wonderful flavors

and even as much chili as is in there,

it's not extremely spicy.

But it just has a really wonderful chili fragrance.

(cheerful ukulele music)

Okay, I'm gonna start next with this fish

and even (speaking foreign language).

Yeah it is pla salid, which is some type of gourami

and fried like a chip.

Oh, like a serious chip.

Yeah, it's like a salty fish jerky.

You gotta really chew that up to get through those bones

but it is really good.

(cheerful ukulele music)

It's so good but

frog is something

you don't really wanna eat when you're in a hurry

'cause you have a lot of

eating around little bones to do.

But every bit that you get tastes so good.

Do I have some?

I'm trying to look at that screen.

I think I might have some chili oil on my chin

that got stuck on my chin.

But that was delicious food.

Eating frog is kind of like eating crab.

It's one of those things that you wanna leisurely eat

and you have to take your time eating.

You don't wanna eat it quickly

due to having to navigate your way around the little bones.

But the flavor that comes out of it,

frog is just delicious.

I love eating meals like that

where you're just sitting here.

And also just a quick cultural tip.

Often times in the countryside in Thailand,

they will cook up some dishes in the middle of the day

and then you'll eat

and then that food,

they'll save that food for later in the day,

maybe the next meal

or whenever you get hungry next.

But I am stuffed and ready to relax.

That was a great lunch.

Thank you very much to Ying and her family

and her aunt especially for cooking up that frog

which was especially for me, she said.

She wanted to cook it for me.

And my mouth is on fire.

That was wonderful.

And then right behind the house,

there are a bunch of fruit trees

and I'm not sure of the name of the fruit in English

but it's a little berry like fruit.

And let me see if I can find one.

Oh there's one.

There's one right over there.

(speaking in foreign language)

In Thai this is called dakob.

Oh, it's so sweet.

And the only reason I know what it tastes like already

because I've been snacking on them before lunch.

But it explodes very similar to a blueberry

But it explodes very similar to a blueberry

with all those little seeds.

But then it has a taste

almost like a really really really overripe mango.

Really sweet and like pulpy.

Micah wants to quickly say goodbye to all of you.

Micah, say goodbye.

Micah.

He had a good lunch while I was eating as well.

While I was eating that frog.

Micah, I can't wait 'til you can eat some frog too.

Oh, he opened his mouth.

(laughing)

Oh, he drooled when I said frog.

I'm gonna end this little lunch video

in Nakhon Sawan right here.

Thank you all very much for watching.

Please remember to give this video a thumbs up

if you enjoyed it.

And also make sure you click subscribe

for lots more food and travel videos.

Thank you again for watching.

Hope you're having a great day

and have a delicious lunch today.

I will see you on the next video.

Why Marvel Won't Give Hawkeye A Movie - Duration: 5:47.

Hawkeye started out as a supervillain back in 1964, but soon switched sides and teamed

up with the Avengers in 1965 — and he's been a key player in the Marvel universe ever

since.

From his cameo appearance in 2011's Thor, to his expanded roles in the Avengers movies

and Captain America: Civil War, Hawkeye is a fixture of the Marvel Cinematic Universe

these days.

The studio was wise enough to lock up-and-comer Jeremy Renner into a longterm contract early

on, and he's become a star in his own right over the past few years.

So why won't Marvel give Hawkeye a movie?

Fatigue

Renner has been a cog in the Marvel machine for a while now, but he was famously unhappy

with his role in The Avengers.

The actor made it clear he felt his character was short-changed, and considering he spent

most of the movie mindlessly brainwashed and working for Loki, it's hard to argue.

He told Hero Complex:

"At the end of the day, 90 percent of the movie, I'm not the character I signed on

to play.

I'm literally in there for two minutes, and then all of a sudden…"

Thankfully, he's warmed up to his superhero role since then.

During a Reddit AMA while promoting Avengers: Age of Ultron, he said he would "be game"

if Marvel ever wanted to make a superhero movie.

But, he'll be six movies in after the next two Avengers films.

He may be game for now, but it's hard not to wonder how long he'll be interested in

playing Marvel's man who can't miss.

"I've done the whole mind control thing...not a fan."

But let's assume Marvel starts to look at Hawkeye's comic book history for inspiration.

Well, they may not find much…

Short on stories

Hawkeye has been around the comic scene for decades, but he doesn't really have a lot

of iconic stories that would translate well to the big screen.

There's a reason fans have been begging for a Black Widow movie — the super spy

has a mysterious backstory well worth exploring.

The same goes for fellow heroes like The Winter Soldier, Hulk, and Black Panther.

But Age of Ultron already filled in a lot of the gaps in Hawkeye's story.

When he's not off being a hero, he lives a quiet life married to Linda Cardellini and

playing with his adorable kids.

Hawkeye is just a regular guy in the MCU.

While that's part of his appeal, it's hard to make a $100 million dollar blockbuster

about an average guy.

Speaking of which…

The Fraction Factor

Writer Matt Fraction's 2012 Hawkeye series was one of the most acclaimed comics Marvel

has published in years.

But that doesn't mean it'd be a good fit on the big screen.

The comic was a hit because it pretty much ignored the fact that Hawkeye is a superhero,

and instead focused on his regular life in a New York City apartment building.

Hawkeye hung around with Kate Bishop, a younger hero who also goes by the name Hawkeye, and

faced off with a group of Russian gangsters.

It was almost the Seinfeld of comic books.

"Well after ordering, Mr. Seinfeld and Mr. Costanza debated on whether or not Iron Man

wore some sort of undergarment between his skin and his iron suit."

"Uh huh."

"And I still say he's naked under there!"

"Oh that makes a lot of sense."

"Ah shut up!"

The series was arguably Hawkeye's best outing in comic books, so fans might think it'd be

the right inspiration for a movie.

It even won a ton of awards, and was a crazy fun story — but it didn't exactly have

the makings of a Hollywood blockbuster.

Though, it would make one heck of a good Netflix TV series.

Just sayin'.

Packed schedule

You'll hear this one pretty much anytime you talk about Marvel movies.

They make a lot of them, and there are plenty more on the way.

The studio has released more than a dozen films, with around half a dozen more already

in development.

You already have Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Captain

Marvel and the next two Avengers films on the way.

And that's just naming a few.

Put simply, there are lots of options on the table, and Hawkeye has already been in his

fair share of movies.

Low-power, high stakes

No offense to all the archer heroes in the Marvel and DC universes, but Hawkeye is basically

a guy fighting aliens and giant robots with a stick and a string.

Hawkeye said it himself.

"Ok look, the city is flying, we're fighting an army of robots...and I have a bow and arrow.

None of this makes sense."

But Iron Man does make sense because he has cool, high-tech armor.

Thor makes sense because he flies around the universe bashing bad guys with a magic hammer.

But shooting arrows?

It's cool, sure, but it's not on the same level.

"Keep up old man!"

"Nobody would know...nobody."

There's a reason DC decided to turn Green Arrow into a TV series.

It seems that skill set is just better suited for adventures on the small screen.

Team-up

Clint Barton was the heart and soul of the Avengers in Age of Ultron, and that's because

he just works really well on a team.

Most of his best moments in the MCU are when he's teamed up with other heroes, and he's

a character who works best when he has someone to play off of.

He's had a lot of interesting story arcs in the comics over the years, but most of

them are tied to larger Avengers stories.

He's died.

He's come back to life.

He's even hung up his bow and arrow to be a ninja for a while — like you do.

But, all of those stories were connected to the Avengers.

Age of Ultron was pretty much Hawkeye at his best, and that's because it gave fans just

enough to leave them wanting more, as opposed to two full hours of pure, unfiltered Hawkeye.

So what about Kate?

Marvel doesn't seem to be afraid of trying out new characters, so why not give the other

arrow-person a shot?

If Marvel really wanted to get creative, it could bench Barton and introduce that other

Hawkeye: Kate Bishop.

Kate was introduced in 2005 in Marvel Comics' Young Avengers comics series, and took up

the name Hawkeye in 2006.

Over the past decade, she's become a close friend to Barton, and is arguably the better

archer.

Nowadays in the comics, she's kicking around California to work as a hard-boiled private

eye.

So maybe she should get a movie, right?

But there's a problem.

Outside of comic readers, she isn't a very well-known character at all.

Considering we're still waiting on Miles Morales Spider-Man to get his own live-action movie,

Kate seems like a long shot too.

The Untold Truth Of Florence Henderson - Duration: 6:19.

Florence Henderson raised a lot of children — and not just the six kiddos from The Brady

Bunch.

Because of her long-lived cultural impact on the TV-watching world and her influence

on many viewers' upbringings, she's been nicknamed "America's Mom."

Her late 2016 passing at the age of 82 hit fans particularly hard in a year filled with

so many celebrity deaths.

The sitcom star was beloved for her tempered management of such a large brood on-screen

and her fun-loving attitude when the camera's weren't rolling.

Even though many television viewers might feel like they know Florence Henderson as

their shared fictional mother, there are still a few details about her life that might surprise

audiences.

Here's the untold truth of Florence Henderson.

Reality bites

There's a reason Henderson's on-screen affections for her Brady brigade read as genuine.

She was trying to make up for the motherly love that she never had in her own life.

The actress revealed that, as the 10th child to her impoverished parents, she wasn't given

much affection as a kid.

In response, she portrayed Carol Brady as the kind of mom she always wished she had

and was glad to have the chance to share the love with so many on-screen and off.

Breaking molds

Just before she became a legend of the sitcom scene, Henderson also made history by becoming

the first female guest host for The Tonight Show in 1962.

She was hired to fill in on the show and later earned the title "Today Girl" on The Today

Show.

Her stint on the program wasn't as well remembered as her turn as Carol Brady, of course, but

it was certainly an auspicious start to what would become a flourishing career in television.

Mom squad goals

Shirley Jones, who played the similarly beloved on-screen mom on The Partridge Family, might've

been on a competing show.

But the two were really close friends in real-life, going back to their earliest days on the stage.

The pair met early on in their careers when they were starring together in a stage performance

of Oklahoma! and became lifelong gal pals.

Interestingly enough, Jones revealed in her 2013 memoir that she had originally received

an offer to star as Carol Brady in the series, but that she turned it down because she didn't

"want to be the mother taking the roast out of the oven and not doing much else."

If that seems harsh, well, yeah, it kinda was, but these two have always had a tongue-in-cheek

relationship with one another where the public is concerned.

Henderson once said she'd gone out for the Broadway revival of Oklahoma! but "that b****

Shirley Jones got it!"

Jones snapped back by joking, "Either she was smiling when she said it…

Or she wasn't smiling when she said it, in which case the new Florence Henderson is about

to see how it feels to get her block knocked off by an old and well-trained Danny Bonaduce's

mama."

Something tells us she might've had her work cut out for her in that bout.

"There's only one thing left to do…"

"What?"

"Really get in there and fight."

Double mom duty

According to many of her pretend kids on The Brady Bunch, Henderson was just as nurturing

a mother behind the scenes as she was when the cameras were rolling.

In fact, actress Susan Olsen, who played the youngest girl, Cindy Brady, said that Henderson

once saved her life during a production accident while they were filming in Hawaii and she

fell off of a ledge.

Olsen said she considered Henderson to be a mother figure to her, and even her children

considered Henderson their second grandmother.

She also credited Henderson with balancing her two motherly universes so well, adding

that she often spent time with Henderson's real children so that she could make time

for everyone.

Sick smooch

Actor Barry Williams, who portrayed Henderson's on-screen stepson Greg Brady, claimed to have

once dated Henderson in his autobiography.

Henderson herself clarified on her website that the story was "blown way out of proportion"

and that it was only a date "because Barry thought it was."

Meanwhile, Williams nevertheless revisited the story after her passing to again tell

the tale of that time he once planted a smooch on his TV mom, saying that he invited her

out to talk shop as an "excuse to pick her up in the car and take her out and try to

steal a kiss."

Getting very sleepy

Although Henderson had plenty of work to do on-screen and raising her real-life quartet

of kids, she still pursued a second career passion — as a licensed hypnotherapist!

She first got into the practice to deal with her own fear of flying and stage fright, and

she used the trade to help others around her deal with their issues.

She was once even asked by Christopher Knight, who'd played Peter Brady on the show, to appear

on his show My Fair Brady and perform some of her counseling with then-girlfriend Adrianne

Curry.

Parting gifts

Henderson might have maintained a wholesome public image over the years, but she's had

her fair share of naughty moments over the years as well.

Henderson revealed in her 2011 biography that she had a one night stand with former New

York City mayor John Lindsay, which took place while she was still married to her first husband

Ira Bernstein.

Her comeuppance for that bad behavior came quickly, as she contracted a case of crabs

from the politician.

Henderson didn't shy away from the creepy-crawly subject, however, writing:

"Guess I learned the hard way that crabs do not discriminate, but cross over all socioeconomic

strata.

He must have had quite the active life.

What a way to put the kibosh on a relationship."

Senior vitality

Even as an octogenarian, Henderson refused to stop living life.

"Which booking is this?

Are you the pervert who wanted to go to town on each other while I make a pie?"

Not only did she stay active with her extracurricular activities and become the oldest-ever Dancing

With the Stars contestant, but she was a vocal proponent of staying young on the inside and

outside later in life.

"Things don't stop working in your body or your mind and it's so important to keep moving."

She even boasted about being "friends with benefits" with a gentleman caller and said

that it's "foolish" of society to think that senior citizens don't enjoy the horizontal

mambo as much as everyone else.

That might sound dirty, but Carol Brady would definitely approve of her mantra.

"The magic of youth… too bad we grow up and lose it."

"Who said we have to lose it?"

The Real Reason Why Women Are Always Colder Than Men - Duration: 4:34.

One conflict that will probably never end is the battle of the thermostat in a space

shared by men and women.

Men are always turning it down, and women are two steps behind them, turning it right

back up again.

Despite theories to the contrary, women are not just being weak or wasteful — there

are scientific reasons why they often find themselves feeling much chillier than the

men in the same room.

Here's the real reason why women are always colder than men.

"Can I turn the heat up?"

"Oh, don't touch the thermostat Meg, your father gets upset."

"Come on, this thing goes up to 90!"

"Who touched the thermostat?"

Colder extremities

Women's icy-cold hands and feet are a long-running joke between married couples at bedtime.

But there's science to back up the phenomenon.

In 1998, researchers at the University of Utah found that though women's core body temperatures

were higher on average, their hands were consistently colder.

And it wasn't a subtle change — the study found women's hands to be about three degrees

cooler than men's.

The reason?

Women's bodies are better at pulling heat back to their organs to conserve it during

cold conditions.

When that happens, though, their hands and feet pay the price for keeping essential organs

at a warmer running temp.

This explains why, when walking through a cool office, you'll see many more women than

men rubbing their hands together to get warm.

Metabolism

Men naturally have higher metabolic rates than women — a fact that has been annoying

women for ages.

According to a study in the Journal of Applied Psychology, the metabolism of most men runs

at about 23 percent higher than women's.

This not only means men have an easier time burning fat, it also means they have warmer

bodies.

Metabolism is the way our bodies burn calories for fuel, and in the process, heats our bodies.

Since women's bodies are burning less fuel, it makes sense that they'd be the chillier

of the species.

Fat to muscle ratio

The way our bodies are composed also has a lot to do with how warm we feel.

In general, men have more muscle and less fat than women.

Since muscle is better at generating heat, this gives men an advantage when it comes

to keeping warm in cool temps.

An article in Popular Science found that while fat does conserve heat, it traps it at the

core, below the skin.

Wait, what?

What this means is that the minute your skin cools down, you'll cool down — even if

your core is still warm.

Add it to the long list of reasons to get your butt in the gym and pump some iron.

Smaller size

Body size also has a lot to do with how cold a person feels.

On average, men are larger than women, both in height and weight.

Brad Fiero, Faculty member at Pima Community College has an entire lesson plan explaining

how size matters in regulating body temperature.

According to his lesson, since women tend to be smaller, they usually have a larger

surface area to volume ratio.

This means that more heat is lost at a faster speed through their larger surface area.

In relation, that smaller volume means less retained heat.

Menstruation

Women's body temperatures tend to fluctuate throughout their menstrual cycles due to rising

and falling hormone levels.

This means depending on what time of the month it is, they may be even more affected by cool

temperatures than normal.

The situation is exacerbated even more when women take birth control.

One 2001 study published in PubMed.gov found that women who took oral contraceptives had

raised body temperatures during some parts of their cycles, making for an intense and

chilly dip when it went back down.

Different perceptions

Another explanation for women being colder than men is that women feel the cold differently

than men do.

According to professors David W. Niesel and Norbert K. Herzog of Medical Discovery News:

"When women feel cold, they constrict blood vessels near the skin surface to retain core

body heat, but it makes them feel colder."

Basically, our bodies have a totally different physical reaction to the very same temperatures.

Weird.

Because men and women typically react exactly the same in most situations.

Just kidding.

Office temps and attire

Women who spend their days in office buildings tend to find themselves in a rough spot when

it comes to dressing for the weather.

A 2015 study published in Nature Climate Change finally proved what women have known all along

— office temperatures are designed for the comfort of a man.

The study found that most office buildings set their thermostats according to outdated

formulas based on the metabolic rates of men.

This might have made sense decades ago, when most offices were predominantly male, but

it's much less acceptable today, when the number of women equal, if not surpass, the

number of men.

The study also revealed that the longstanding "thermal comfort model" employed by offices

everywhere takes into consideration another factor: clothing insulation levels.

Men wear suits, and suits can make them hot.

Pair the chilly office temps with women's regular office attire of dresses, skirts,

and thin blouses, and you'll begin to understand what all the shivering is about — and why

so many women have heaters under their desks, gloves and scarves stashed in their drawers,

and a heavy cardigan thrown over their chairs.

And this isn't just true in the winter.

In the summer months, the air conditioning usually gets cranked up to near-freezing levels,

blowing theories of energy conservation right out the window.

Suddenly, wearing a suit jacket every day doesn't sound like such a bad idea, does it?

There are some important things to know about children in the game that differ from adults.

Children cannot stand guard, go out on scavenging trips, or trade with Franko during the day.

The only option they have at night time is to sleep.

Resting will not help children recover from wounds or sickness.

You will need to use Bandages to heal wounds and Meds to heal sickness.

Furthermore, these must be administered by an adult.

Children cannot build items outside of those they can be taught.

SLUMBERJACK - Fracture (feat. Vera Blue) [Lyrics] - Duration: 3:56.

How did we, run it straight into the ground

All I say, all I do is bring you down

Honestly, can we get back to the start

I just hate this feeling now

It's easier when we start It's better with the lights off

Please just steal my trust

Don't go overthinking Trying to rebuild this

Just take it as it comes

There is always something that pulls me on

When it's all done can we begin

Need to feel like you're still on my side

Just take it as it comes

When I'm alone I can feel you still on me

Skin to skin I know you feel this chemistry

Honestly, can we get back to the start

I just hate this feeling now

It's easier when we start It's better with the lights off

Please just steal my trust

Don't go overthinking Trying to rebuild this

Just take it as it comes

There is always something that pulls me on

When it's all done can we begin

Need to feel like you're still on my side

Just take it as it comes

There is always something that pulls me on

When it's all done can we begin

Need to feel like you're still on my side
