Donald Trump inauguration: 5 things we can all do - Duration: 7:03.

Hey everyone, hope all is well.

This past week I have researched and outlined so many potential video ideas, but with something

quite important coming over the horizon, it felt only right that I put these pieces aside

and spoke about Trump's inauguration instead.

The US President is seen by many as leader of the free world.

Therefore the choice of the American people is not just their concern,

but one to all global citizens.

Whether you voted for him or not, he is the President; A President who campaigned on the

promise that he would make a positive difference to the lives of so many ordinary Americans.

Not just the rich elite or the political establishment.

And so with people coming at this from so many different perspectives, I have identified

5 things I believe we can all focus on for the next four years.

Number 1: Engage.

There are so many people who feel depressed and disillusioned

by the current political landscape.

They want to look away, but this is not an option,

or at least not one that achieves anything constructive.

Desmond Tutu once said, "If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen

the side of the oppressor.

If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral,

the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality."

Facing ugly realities can be uncomfortable.

I've always believed though that the truth sometimes hurts,

but I like to regard that as growing pains.

If you do nothing, nothing will happen, besides potentially helping create a vacuum for others

to fill who may not have your best interests at heart.

So engage with the issues at hand.

You may think, "What can I do?"

Well this brings us to point number 2.

Number 2: Support.

Look up charities & organisations whose values you share, and reach out.

For example the ACLU for civil liberties, Planned Parenthood for women's rights,

The Natural Resources Defense Council for the environment,

The Human Rights Campaign for LGBTQ rights,

The National Immigration Law Center for the rights of immigrants,

or perhaps an independent media organisation?

Or a political party or a movement?

If you are unable to donate money, then why not donate some of your time instead?

Only got $1 or 5 minutes to spare?

Then understand that a small contribution can lead to a big difference, when you consider

that hundreds of thousands of people may be in the same situation that you are in.

There is strength in numbers.

If you are unable to get out and attend rallies or an organisation's event, watch live streams

online, sign up to the relevant websites, or even just have conversations with family,

friends, neighbours or strangers about the things that you believe in,

which brings us to point number 3.

Number 3: Stick to the issues.

So much time & energy gets wasted on throwing around labels in an attempt

to pigeon hole 'opponents' in political discourse.

I can't stand it, which is why I try my very best not to engage in such.

Inject ideas and not labels into the conversation, because it signals an intent to make progress

with those you are speaking to, and not to just defend a position.

Leftists, right-wingers, SJWs, bigots - whatever label - means different things to different people.

It also allows the most extreme behaviour carried out by individuals of said label to

characterise everyone else, generating drama that is not truly reflective of the reality.

I've actually got a big video coming out soon about labels, but for now i'll just

say this: Try and have a conversation without using labels.

Give it a go.

It may require taking a little extra time to make your point,

but you may have more success in the long run.

Ultimately labels can be a method for venting frustration, but it's the ideas themselves

that can achieve positive change.

Number 4: Intellectual honesty.

We need to break free from this traditional view that in order to make progress, you can't

concede anything to those you oppose.

The past 8 years, I have been shunned or looked down upon by some Obama supporters for criticising

things like the taking of corporate money, the expansion of the surveillance state,

going after whistleblowers or the assassination program.

Now if these same people start criticising Trump for the issues I just mentioned, this

reveals a classic example of intellectual dishonesty.

We need to outgrow this culture, because partisan politics often stifles honest conversations.

Let's say you voted for Donald Trump and he puts forward a policy that you don't agree with.

You have every right to oppose it.

At the same time if you don't support him and he proposes a policy that you do agree

with, then don't cut off your nose to spite your face.

This attitude should also take place in everyday life with your fellow citizens.

If you see someone being attacked or abused in public then do what you can to stop it

or at the very least speak out, no matter what the political background may be of the

perpetrator or the victim.

Intellectual honesty can pave the way for moral consistency.

Number 5 : Accountability.

Technology is a beautiful thing, decentralizing information

and the means by which we can act on it.

So utilize the internet to learn about the politicians who are supposed to represent

you and your communities.

This is about more than just Donald Trump.

Here's a few websites to check out: GovTrack.us lets you see

the voting records of Senators & Congressmen.

WhoIsMyReresentative.com will tell you the contact details of your elected officials.

And OpenSecrets.org shows you who is giving and taking money in the political system.

If a policy or vote comes up that bothers you, phone them or send an email.

Attend a town hall or a community meeting.

This all helps build a culture of accountability across the political system, and gives elected

officials an opportunity to better reflect the wishes of their constituents.

Money may be able to buy advertising space & influence,

but it is no match to a public that is informed & engaged.

So with all that said, stay engaged, support others, stick to the issues, have intellectual

honesty and keep those in power to account.

Please comment with your thoughts, click that LIKE button and SHARE this with anyone you

know who is currently wondering about US politics.

iPhone 6s – Replacing the earpiece - Duration: 7:48.

If you're having trouble understanding the person you're on the phone with, your earpiece may be defective.

In this video, I'll show you how to replace the one in your iPhone.

This repair is pretty easy. Plan on taking about half an hour.

I recommend using the following tools:

a pentalobe screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver, a suction cup, a hard plastic pick,

a pair of tweezers, a steel laboratory spatula and a spudger.

You also need a heat gun because the display's really glued on.

As always, I also recommend the magnetic pad so you can keep your screws organized while you work.

If you get stuck on one of the steps in this repair, use the guides with pictures on our website.

You can also use the comment function there to ask questions.

Have fun repairing your device.

BBefore I start the repair, I'm going to turn off the device so I don't cause any short circuits.

Before I can open the device, I have to remove the two pentalobe screws to the left and right of the charging port.

Now I'm going to open the display. Don't forget that it's glued on all along the edge to keep out moisture.

You have to heat the display a little with hot air.

Okay, now I've heated it enough. As usual, I put my suction cup on the lower end. And my pick. I use the pick to push down the enclosure and use the suction cup to lift the display.

Because the display's glued on, I recommend moving the pick around all the edges to detach the glue better.

The display contacts are at the upper edge of the display.

It's very important not to stretch them too much or tear them. Once I've detached the whole display, I tilt it up, but not much more than 90° because that could destroy the contacts.

The display contacts are under a plate that's fastened with four screws. Before I can disconnect the contacts, I have to remove the screws.

Of course, it's important to keep your screws organized because mixing them up could cause damage later on.

Once I've removed the screws, I take off the plate.

Then I can disconnect the three contacts for the Home button, display and front camera one after the other, and take off the display.

Now I remove the earpiece starting with the three screws holding the cover in place.

Once I've removed the three screws, I can take off the plate.

There's also an adhesive strip on the side to hold it in place, so I have to take that off before I can remove the plate.

Once I've removed the plate, I just have to bend the camera to one side a little. Then I can remove the earpiece.

Next, I put the earpiece in. This step's a little tricky. First I push the camera a little to one side, then I put in the earpiece and I can get the front camera in the right position.

The two pegs here have to go through the holes in the cable.

Then press the cam era into its frame.

I keep holding everything in place so I can put on the cover plate.

It also has two holes that the pegs on the earpiece have to go through.

I also have to put the strap back around the controller.

Once the three parts are securely on top of each other, I keep holding them with one finger while I fasten everything with one screw so it won't fall apart.

Then I can take off my finger and fasten one screw after the other.

Of course, I don't have to restore the water resistance before I install the display, but there are ready-made frames stickers you can just put on for that purpose.

Simply remove it from the backing film. Of course, it's best if you check how you need to put it on first.

For the 6s, there are two parts in the corners that are a little longer and a little shorter, and the longer ones go down here for the speaker. Once you've removed the backing film, it's easy to position and put it on.

Then press the whole thing on gently and carefully remove the second piece of film. Make any little adjustments you need to.

Now I've prepared the enclosure so I can put the device back together.

I start with the contacts. First I press on the contact for the Home button, then the ones for the touchscreen and the front camera.

Of course, I put the plate back on to secure the contacts, making sure it's flush over the threads, and then I fasten the screws one after the other.

It's very important not to mix up any screws because that could cause damage to the PCB that would be difficult or impossible to repair.

Now that I've fastened the display contacts, I can carefully lower the display. I have to hook it on at the top first and then I carefully press down the display until it clicks into place and is completely fitted into the enclosure.

To finish the repair, I just have to fasten the two pentalobe screws to the left and right of the charging port.

Now you've repaired your iPhone, and I hope you had fun. But if you do get stuck somewhere, contact me at idoc.eu. I'd be happy to help you.

Our how-to videos show tips and tricks for your iPhone, as well as solutions to various problems. Take a look at the videos or visit us on Facebook.

Smart Dust – The Future of Involuntary Treatment of the Public - Duration: 10:59.

Smart Dust The Future of Involuntary Treatment of the Public.

By WakingTimes.

Smart dust is a name given to extremely small computing particles, RFID chips, or other

very small technologies.

A popular article from Extreme Tech describes it in the headline: Smart dust: A complete

computer thats smaller than a grain of sand. An article from War is Boring is

titled Future Military Sensors Could Be Tiny Specks of Smart Dust New technologies

allow for extremely smalland ubiquitousmilitary sensors. A paper from University of California,

San Diego describes smart dust:

The term smart dust originally referred to miniature wireless semiconductor devices

made using fabrication techniques derived from the microelectronics industry.

These devices incorporate sensing, computing and communications in a centimetre-sized package.

It is promoted as an eventuality, that smart dust will cover streets and buildings to identify

people, that people will have smart dust in their bodies, and other things in mainstream

television and media.

They paint a utopian, blissful picture of it.

However, the history of entities involved in creating smart dust show a different perspective.

The same entities who create destructive technology (drones, surveillance technology, technology

for warfare) are involved with its creation: military industrial complex players, from

the RAND Corporation to Hitachi, to DARPA and their collaborators in academia.

As with all technology, the people who wield it determine whether its used for the benefit

of, or against the common people.

The concepts for Smart Dust emerged from a workshop at RAND in 1992 and a series of

DARPA ISAT studies in the mid-1990s due to the potential military applications of the

technology.

The work was strongly influenced by work at UCLA and the University of Michigan during

that period.

The Rand Corporation has been involved in morally reprehensible warfare, think tank

activity and strategy in particular, for several decades.

They were involved in nuclear war strategy, disrespecting the lives of everyone on the

planet in scenarios where nuclear bombs would be detonated to retaliate against Russia at

the expense of all life on Earth.

Such apocalyptic scenarios are explored in many RAND publications, and in 2016, they

examined possibilities of war with China.

RAND has published several papers about spraying the skies, involuntarily treating whole populations

with chemicals to geoengineer the weather.

One is titled Governing Geoengineering Research: A Political and Technical Vulnerability

Analysis of Potential Near-Term Options.

With the recent announcement that the US government is looking into geoengineering research, it

looks like an overt, involuntary treatment of the American people with geoengineering

material is coming soon.

They act as if they arent already spraying us.

RAND is likely to be involved with complex science used for control over populations,

as implied in a publication of theirs.

It reads,

Beyond the agricultural and industrial revolutions of the past, a global technology

revolution is currently changing the world.

This book discusses the broad, multidisciplinary, and synergistic trends in this revolution,

including genomics, cloning, biomedical engineering, smart materials, agile manufacturing, nanofabricated

computation devices, and integrated microsystems.

A central, historical player in Japans military industrial complex, Hitachi developed

some of the smallest smart dust particles ever disclosed to the public, a full 15 years

ago with the announcement of the 0.4mm x 0.4mm external antenna -Chip.

As far back as 2001, smart dust was this small.

It is depicted in this popular meme still circulating on social media.

Considering how far back the technology goes, how small is the smallest smart dust

today?

Could it be small enough to perform functions inside the human body, or be involuntarily

sprayed on us without us realizing it?

Considering what we dont know about the inner workings of DARPA, the institutes of

technology so influential to modern warfare, and other historically dangerous institutions,

what technology similar to smart dust could they be pioneering or even experimenting on

us with?

Understanding the history of recent human experimentation is necessary to understand

the probability of involuntary treatment with smart dust.

A paper from the University of California, San Diego is titled Smart dust: self-assembling,

self-orienting photonic crystals of porous Si. It is about micrometer-sized one-dimensional

photonic crystals of porous Si that spontaneously assemble, orient, and sense their local environment.

A June 2016 Singularity Hub article is titled Smart Dust Is Coming: New Camera Is the

Size of a Grain of Salt. The article reads:

In a new University of Stuttgart paper published in Nature Photonics, scientists

describe tiny 3D printed lenses and show how they can take super sharp images.

Each lens is 120 millionths of a meter in diameterroughly the size of a grain of

table saltand because theyre 3D printed in one piece, complexity is no barrier.

Any lens configuration that can be designed on a computer can be printed and used.

The lenseswhich included single, double, and triple optical elementswere printed

on strands of optical fiber and standard digital sensors like those used in cameras.

The researchers believe future applications include less invasive endoscopic medical imaging

of the bodyeven injection into the brainand nearly invisible camera sensors on miniature

drones or robots.

This will lead to a plethora of novel devices with tremendous impact on biotechnology, medical

engineering, and safety/security monitoring, they wrote.

Injecting smart dust into a persons brain for endoscopic medical imaging is less

invasive?

Using bacteria encapsulated in electrospun nanofibers to treat water and enrich soil

for crops is being discussed as well, in powerful academic institutions such as Israel Institute

of Technology.

Geoengineering researchers suspect that the tiny, metallic looking particles found after

chemtrail spraying may be a form of smart dust.

People theorize that smart dust may be sprayed on us, and that a similar technology may even

be forcefully administered to take control of the human body.

Some question whether GWEN towers could be used in conjunction with smart dust-type-technology.

While its not completely proven that people are being involuntarily treated with smart

dust, if we want to anticipate the future and avoid a dystopian nightmare, wed be

wise to examine all the possibilities, because in the world today, technology that was heralded

as revolutionary and life saving is often the complete opposite.

Once the general public is coaxed into accepting something as life-saving, from that point

forward, people who criticize the science are ostracized.

This is not science as in, the scientific method of critically testing the effects of

something and searching for evidence, but its dogma about technology.

Vaccines are a perfect example.

Once people became normalized to them, and people who questioned them were denigrated

as conspiracy theorists, a threshold was crossed which makes it difficult to reach anyone with

alternative info about them.

Powerful institutions and their mad scientists are trying to cross this threshold of normalization

with geoengineering as we speak, and they will try with smart dust.

While people who observe the chemtrail spraying in the skies, have seen rain tests full of

aluminum, and have seen the geoengineering patents for spraying aluminum, have been cast

aside as conspiracy theorists for saying spraying is occurring, the mainstream media and mad

science institutions are now openly calling for spraying the skies to combat climate

change.

One day, the government could declare we will now spray, and those who say your

health could be damaged by their geoengineering spray might be called crazy in a future where

people are normalized to it.

Those who insist other chemicals and things are being sprayed on us under the guise of

overt geoengineering could be called paranoid, once the threshold of normalization

is reached with the public.

To remain in control over what technology is administered to us, because governments

are pushing harder every day to make vaccines mandatory, breathing in particles sprayed

in the sky, and other health damaging things, we have to not allow public opinion to reach

that threshold of willfully accepting involuntary treatment.

With the passing of Californias SB277, children attending school are now required

to get a long list of vaccines.

According to SB277.org:

SB 277 eliminates a parents right to exempt their children from one, some, or all

vaccines, a risk-laden medical procedure including death.

In 2016, California parents will be forced to give their children more than 40 doses

of 10 federally recommended vaccines.

This open-ended vaccine mandate allows the State of California to add any additional

vaccines they deem necessary at anytime.

The only exemption available is a medical exemption that doctors deny to 99.99 percent

of children under federal guidelines.

Donald Trump's rise to presidency shows we're capable of more than we think - Duration: 5:11.

Who's the Next President? Anyone?

Two wild things happen at noon Friday. One is obvious and historic: Donald Trump becomes President. The other is completely unknowable and therefore almost completely unmentioned: There will be a new next President of the United States.

And whoever and wherever he or she is, there's a good chance we've never even heard of the person.

It's probably unreasonable to dwell on who will be our 46th President. We haven't even heard the inaugural speech of our 45th. We don't know what's going to happen in the world.

We know there is going to be some drama.

Let's let things play out a bit.

We're all exhausted from the 2016 campaign. Who wants to think about 2020?

Eight years ago, Trump was hardly a White House contender as "The Apprentice" kicked off its first season.

(KEVIN GILBERT/AP)

But I can't help it. Wondering about who comes next while all the attention is on the new President is a habit I've had since high school during a trip to the Kennedy Library in Boston. I saw a photograph of John F.

Kennedy in his backyard with his wife Jackie.

He was 35 or 36 years old, in a T-shirt, messing with an amateur paint set, and in another fussing with a newspaper. So domestic and ordinary.

Yet they would be the next occupants of the White House.

The photo is deceiving. Kennedy was no suburban everyman, and his ascendency to the presidency wasn't exactly a stretch. War Hero. Rich. Harvard.

And steadily gathering legislative years (if not accomplishments) for his resume.

Kennedy, while younger and more glamorous than his peers, followed a similar path of most of our 20th century presidents: Hold serious jobs, at top levels in government, for many years before serious consideration for the biggest job in the world.

But the resumes have gotten a lot thinner lately.

George W. Bush started his journey to become the next President of the United States on Jan. 20, 1993, when Bill Clinton was sworn in.

Bush was at the inauguration, his father was leaving the presidency after one term. George W.

Bush had proximity to power for sure, but very little of it for himself.

At 46, he had a wobbly career in the oil business behind him and one losing congressional race.

That day he was the part owner of the fourth-placed Texas Rangers baseball team, and still almost two years away from winning his first political office.

A race that his mother thought he shouldn't enter because he couldn't win.

Obama became President when he was just 47. One of the youngest ever, yet his career seemed stalled on Jan. 20, 2001, the day Bush became the president.

Still just a state senator, months earlier he had lost a congressional race and was so broke he couldn't rent a car with his AMEX. At the democratic national convention in Los Angeles, he was denied credentials to access the convention floor. He was allowed, in his words, only to "roam the halls." He wasn't important enough for anything more.

George W. Bush had his own struggles as a politician, oil tycoon, and part owner of the Texas Rangers before he made it to the White House.

(ERIC GAY/AP)

As Bush and Obama went from marginal players to the ultimate success in eight years, Trump's ascendency, or at least serious speculation about his presidential prospects, started decades ago, before he was even old enough to be President.

Trump was 34 in 1981 when celebrity journalist Rona Barrett quizzed him about presidential ambition in a nationally televised profile. In the serious exchange, a pensive Trump weighs his electability, concerned his ideas are good for the country but tough to sell politically.

Throughout the 80s, America's top interviewers like Oprah Winfrey and Larry King put the "don't you want to be President" question to The Donald. Murmurs of a "Draft Trump" campaign in New Hampshire were reported by Time magazine 30 years ago. For all those who said a President Trump is unthinkable, people have actually been thinking about it for a long time.

Still, eight years ago today, Trump was hardly a contender. In the opening sequence of the first season of "The Apprentice," he admits that he had been mired in "serious trouble" financially in the 1990s. The perennial presidential talk still surfaced, but generated more by Trump himself than anyone else.

Where were you eight years ago today when Obama became President? Or in 2001 when George W. Bush raised his right hand?

I've always found it easier to track these occasions than New Years, which all seem similar to me, featuring that same big ball drop.

Inaugurations are more significant than a new calendar.

And often, the change in our own lives as we look four or eight years back has been dramatic.

Tony Robbins, the life coach, says this: "Most people overestimate what they can accomplish in a year — and underestimate what they can achieve in a decade."

As many of us lose the urgency behind New Year's resolutions, maybe we can take encouragement from Inauguration day, regardless of whether our candidate won in November. Bush, Obama and Trump. They have virtually nothing in common, except each skirted personal ruin and achieved the highest honor our nation can bestow.

If they can do that, perhaps you and I are a lot more capable then we've grown accustomed to thinking.

Greg Kelly is co-host of "Good Day New York" and a former White House correspondent for Fox News.

'Riverdale' turns dark and deadly for Archie, Jughead, Betty and Veronica - Duration: 2:44.

"Riverdale," based on the beloved Archie comics, isn't quite home to the squeaky clean, all-American gang of goody-two-shoes everyone fondly remembers.

Sure the new CW show is set in the fictional town of Riverdale and populated by a gang of teens with names like Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead, but in this series there's also a dead body that turns up in the first episode — which premieres Thursday at 9 p.m.

Creator and producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told the Daily News the show is deliberately dark.

(Katie Yu/The CW)

"There's definitely a noir vibe and David Lynchian sense of the macabre and the mysterious in the sense that there's something curdling underneath this town and these characters," he explained.

Aguirre-Sacasa who also worked on other subversive shows like "Big Love" and "Glee" says that he's always been a huge fan of the comic.

"Before I was in high school I read them and thought, oh, my God I hope this is what high school is really like," he said laughingly. "I really want to be friends with these kids, they seem so great. I want to go to Riverdale High and then go for a milkshake afterwards."

(Katie Yu/Katie Yu/The CW)

Aguirre-Sacasa, 43, was such a fan that he even wrote Archie comics as an adult and began having discussions with the comic book's CEO Jon Goldwater about spinning off the show in much the same way Marvel has successfully done with its properties.

Originally, the series landed at Fox, when it was still being conceived as a traditional coming-of-age show like "My So Called Life" or "Freaks and Geeks." But Aguirre-Sacasa says that early on, the network told him the show needed something else to differentiate it from other teen soaps.

The CW's Riverdale stars, (l.-r.): K.J. Apa as Archie Andrews and Luke Perry as his dad, Fred.

(Diyah Pera/Diyah Pera/The CW)

The suggestion got Aguirre-Sacasa thinking about other coming of age touchstones and two came to mind: "Stand By Me" and "River's Edge."

"I thought these are coming-of-age movies," he says. "They're darker and a little bit more unsettling and really they're loss of innocence movies and I thought that's an interesting thing to take this property, which is known to be wholesome and innocent and not dangerous and not sexual and not morally complex.

Aguirre-Scasa, figured why not "push it in that direction."

He says once they decided on the body as a plot device, it all quickly fell into place.

Archie is being played by newcomer K.J. Apa, a 19-year-old New Zealander. In a wink to another classic teen soap, Luke Perry from the original "Beverly Hills 90210""will appear as Archie's dad.

Aguirre-Sacasa sums up the show as "the push and tension between the innocence on one side, the wholesomeness and the darkness and subversion of the American dream on the other side."
