Sewol-ho ferry to be transported to Mokpo Thursday - Duration: 1:25.Turning our focus to the Sewol-ho salvaging operation.
It's raised to the surface.
The operation to move the ship to port is likely to begin around Thursday.
The search for bodies will likely begin on the 10th of next month.
Lee Ji-won outlines the next phase.
The final journey of the ill-fated Sewol-ho ferry has been scheduled.
Korea's Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries announced Monday morning the day the vessel is likely
to start moving to its resting place at Mokpo New Port.
" subject to change depending on the preparations,... but we are expecting it to head for the port
around Thursday."
The ministry said there is still work left to be done,... including detaching the cables
used to lift the vessel... and attaching the ferry to the semi-submersible ship, a process
that will start Monday and is expected to take two days.
Crews are also working to drain excess water and leftover oil... and expect to finish on
Tuesday.
It's expected to take more than eight hours to transport the vessel from the accident
site to the port, which is 105 kilometers away.
Once the ferry reaches land and has been secured,... the search for the nine missing bodies will
start, along with a search for clues to what precisely caused it to capsize.
The ferry sinking in April 2014 left 304 people dead, most of them high school students on
a field trip.

City of Saints and Thieves | Spoiler Free Review - Duration: 9:16.Hey guys! It's Trina and this is my spoiler free book review
for City of Saints and Thieves by Natalie C. Anderson.
This is a 2017 debut novel and I really want to give a dedicated
individual book review for all of the debuts that I read this year.
And if you guys don't know I actually do run a Goodreads group
that's called YA Debut Source where I kind of go through
publisher catalogs and different sites that promote debuts
and I just make a list of them on Goodreads.
So if you're ever looking for a debut novel,
there are a ton of them that are coming out this year.
I'll put a link to that group in the description.
You don't have to join or anything, I'm just mentioning it
because I do have a very big interest in debuts.
This one happens to be the first debut that I have read this year.
This one came out in January and this is a YA.
It's pitched as a mystery/thriller. It is set in Kenya.
This is the story of a main character named Tina who
she and her mother have fled Congo and
they are refugees living in Kenya now.
They've made a new life for themselves and then five years
prior to the start of this novel, Tina's mother is killed
and Tina really believes that she knows who did it.
Since her mother's death, Tina actually has been homeless
and she's fallen in with a street gang and she is
known as the best thief in this city.
The beginning of the book starts off with a heist
where Tina and her group are breaking into this like really fancy,
well-secured house that no one's ever been able to hit
and she's like 'No, I know I can do it.'
So in the middle of this heist, Tina actually finds some
information about her mom in the house and that sets off
the events for the rest of the book where Tina actually
goes on this like quest to find out what really happened to her mother
because it may not be what she's always believed happened.
I was actually sent a copy of this book by Penguin.
They sent me the copy of the book but I was not paid to do
this review and all these opinions are my own.
I ended up giving this one a 3 star rating.
The good and bad things to me didn't really outweigh each other
so I think 3 was just really like where my feelings fit for this novel.
I feel like with debut novels there are a certain set of questions
that I should ask myself and then answer about debuts
that are things that I wouldn't necessarily have to think about
with works by established authors.
So I want to tell you guys first of all why did I pick this book up?
And did it meet that expectation?
Like did this fulfill the reasons why I picked it up?
So I picked this book up for two reasons and the
first one is because it is set in Africa and it is one of my
reading goals this year that I want to read around the world more.
The second main reason why I picked this book up is
because this one is heavily marketed as a mystery revenge thriller
and I was like that sounds great! I love revenge stories,
I'm in the mood for mystery, let's go.
So to answer the question of did this book fulfill those expectations?
As far as the setting, yes it definitely fulfilled that expectation.
Like, it is set in Kenya. And this is not an own voices story
but this author did live in Kenya and worked with refugees.
She knows the setting and I did feel like she brought that to life.
I have never been to Kenya myself so I can't say if that setting
was portrayed accurately. For me wanting
to fulfill a kind of sense of wanderlust
when reading, it worked for that but I
have no idea if this was indeed an
accurate, authentic picture of Kenya.
As far as the second part of why I picked
this book up, wanting a mystery, this is where
the book fell flat. It's just not the
style of mystery that I personally
prefer. There was not a lot of suspense
built, not a lot of tension. The main
character Tina thinks she knows who did
it, like she has this one suspect the
entire time and then when the climax of
the story happens things kind of come
out of nowhere instead of having been
something that was built up throughout
this story. If you like to be
blindsided by a mystery, maybe that
would really work for you but for me I
really enjoy mystery writers who build
the suspense more and I think that
perhaps the fault of this is not the
writing but the marketing. I have no idea
if the author set out with the intention
of 'I'm going to write a really gripping
mystery,' or if like there just
happened to be this one mystery element
to it and marketing is like 'yes, we can
sell a mystery!' Whatever the case was, it
didn't meet that for me. It was not the
style of mystery that I prefer. I just
like a lot more tension and suspense.
The next question I want to ask about
debuts was could I tell that this
was the author's first work? And I'm
breaking it down into three different
parts. I want to talk about the writing, the world building,
and the characterization. So as far as the
writing, I actually listened to this one
on audio and I've admitted before in some of my
audiobook series that I can't really
differentiate between writing quality
versus narration quality but I didn't notice anything in
the writing or the narration that made me
think that this was poorly written. Could
I tell it was a debut from the writing?
No, not necessarily. But I think I could
tell it was the author's first time
writing mystery. If that was indeed her
intention, you can tell if this is her
first time writing mystery because I
didn't think that the suspense was built
up as much as more accomplished mystery
authors. As far as world building, this is a
contemporary. It's set in the real world
so she's not like building a world from
scratch but with a real-world setting
you can still ask things like did she
convey that location and bring it to
life like just through text alone? Again,
you know I have never been to Kenya and
I can't tell you guys this is an
accurate portrayal of that but to me it
felt like she wrote a story that evoked
that location so I think that her world
building was fine. The characterization
however is where I feel like this book
strongest strength was. I did really care
for the main character of Tina and the
two side characters Michael and Boyboy.
I liked their backgrounds and their
dynamic interacting with each other and
I cared about them. Other characters
besides them, I didn't think were like
super well developed or anything but the
main three I was invested in and that's
why I kept reading the book, so I did
enjoy her characterization for the
characters that had the most page time.
My next debut question that I have is
would I read this author's next book? And
my answer to that is I probably would
not seek it out but I'm also not going
to avoid this athor completely. Like if
her next book or some book down the road
has an interesting premise I would
definitely give it a chance. Like, if it
speaks to me and I want to know more about it I
wouldn't hesitate to pick that up, but
I'm not like itching to read whatever
she writes next. The next thing I'm going
to cover are just like my list of pros
and cons, the things that I liked about
the book and the things that I did not
like, and some of these will just kind of be
a recap of some of the previous things
that I have said, but the things that I
really liked - I liked the characters and
the characterization. I did care about
the main characters. I also loved that
the main character Tina was very loyal
to her sister Kiki, Kiki does not play a
large role, she isn't often on scene but
a lot of what Tina does is driven by her
care for her sister. The thing that I
liked the most about this book was the
setting. I did enjoy reading a book set
outside of areas of the world that I am
used to reading about. As far as the cons,
or the things that I did not like
that much about this book, the thing
that I really didn't like was that it wasn't
the type of mystery that I want. The
writing didn't capture that mysterious
vibe that I look for when I'm reading a
mystery or thriller so that is a con for
me. That was a big thing that lowered my
rating of it because it just didn't
deliver what I was wanting from it.
However, another thing that I really did
not enjoy about this book was how
prevalent rape was. So much of the plot
of this book hinged on the rape and
sexual assault aspect of it, like it
couldn't have been taken out but I also
didn't think that these things were
handled with very much purpose other
than to show that the world sucks. And
although that is realistic and not all
readers need a purpose to these things -
I'm not saying that this is a fault of
the book or that authors are never
allowed to write about these topics - it
just was an unpleasant reading
experience for somebody who doesn't like
reading about that. So if you have a
sensitivity to that, if you would
consider that to be one of your triggers,
that is in this book and I do wish that
I had known about that and been warned
about that before going into it. If you
don't like reading about that, that could
color your experience reading this story
and that's kind of what it did to me. The
last question I have for myself that I'm
going to talk about in this video is
would I recommend this book? I would
recommend this book to readers who are
looking for a book that is set in Africa
or in an international location. I would
recommend it to you if you're looking
for a book with a strong female lead.
Tina is strong in many ways, not just
like physically. She's very emotionally
strong, I love heart loyalty to her
sister. I would also recommend this if
you are looking for a book that does
have representation of teenage poverty
and homelessness, which is something that
I don't see a lot of in YA books but
I've heard several people recently
saying that they wish they saw that
represented in books. And I would
recommend it if you like stories where
the main character is kind of finding
out more about where she comes from and
her family roots because that does play
a large story in it. I would not
recommend this if you're looking for a
mystery though, because it didn't check
those boxes for me. Because this is not
an own voices book and I personally
don't identify with the representation
in it, I have no idea if it is good or
bad representation. I have tried to look
up reviews by own voices reviewers that
can kind of give me some insight into it
but at the time I'm doing this video
there aren't that many reviews out there
of this book yet so I haven't come
across anything that says that this is
horrible representation but, you know,
keep in mind I am not the authority on
this representation in this book
and do seek out reviews if you're
picking this book up at a later time.
So that's all I really have to say about
City of Saints and Thieves. I hope that
this review has been helpful for you
guys to know if this is one that you want
to pick up or not. If you have any other
questions about the writing, or the story,
or the content, or anything that I did
not cover in this please ask me down
below and I will answer you there. Thank
you so much for watching and I will see
you in the comments. Bye!

Sarah Palin Just Taught Paul Ryan A Lesson He's Going To Remember For Years! - Duration: 13:19.Sarah Palin Just Taught Paul Ryan A Lesson He's Going To Remember For Years!
Once again former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin makes us proud and takes on the RINO Republican
establishment by taking to the airways on a Breitbart News interview yesterday that
will make you relish at how she takes career politicians to task by correctly rebranding
so-called "TrumpCare" as "RinoCare."
In Breitbart interview she had some choice words for the RINOs in Congress:
"I do want to speak about this, but I am tempted to say not another word from our fearless
leaders about this new form of Obamacare that I'm going to call RINO-care—not another
word from them until we are definitively told that there is no provision whatsoever allowing
Congress to exempt itself whatsoever with this law."
And she also had some hair-splitting words for Paul "Jihad" Ryan:
"There is much that we agree on," Palin said. "Thank the Lord, we all agree that
Obamacare is devastating one-sixth of our economy. That's what health care encompasses.
Once the government took it over—it obviously is unaffordable, unsustainable and unwanted.
So, from the get-go, thank the Lord we all have that in common, and we want to do away
with Obamacare. I would ask Paul Ryan's forgiveness if I come across sounding like
I'm just whining and complaining about a problem without proposing a solution. Like
Teddy Roosevelt said, that is the definition of whining. So I want to propose solutions,
and I want Paul Ryan to listen to the people who are suggesting that, okay, if the government
is going to be this involved in our healthcare system and choices, then allow the states
to take this over. Get it out of big government's hands. The most responsive level of government
is that which is closest to the people. If you're not going to allow individuals to
have the freedoms and the autonomy and the choices provided in their health care, at
least let it be a states' rights issue. So that's one."
I believe we can all agree with Sarah Palin when she says there is no need to hurry on
the repeal and replace of Obamacare. We have had to live under this fiasco of a government
takeover for 4 years now, 6 more months, or even a year won't kill us in order to get
this right. Plus, it will most likely collapse of its own in a very short period of time
since most insurers are already pulling out of the exchange since it's proving to be
a financial disaster for them too.
What is more worrisome and what should really be irking most Freedom loving Americans on
both sides of the aisle at this point is the fact the Republicans voted multiple times
to repeal and replace Obamacare when it stood no chance of ever getting past President Obama's
desk while at the same time constantly calling for "Repeal and Replace" on all political
morning shows and press releases. Repeal and replace it with what? What was their true
objective? Was it all just showboating by the RINO Republicans in Congress to get votes?
Nawww, that can't be, can it?
Sarah Palin who in 2008 rose to international fame by accepting the hideous task of being
John McCain's vice presidential running mate deserves a big thank you for always standing
up for us, the freedom loving American people. From being one of the first politicians to
endorse Donald Trump to being there whenever us peons are about to get the shaft from a
RINO political establishment who seems to still not be able to comprehend why Trump
was elected president.
God Bless Sarah Palin!People SHOCKED At What's Spotted On The Back Of SUV Driving Down Major
U.S. Highway
Drivers heading going about their weekend on an otherwise average afternoon were headed
down a major U.S. highway when their path crossed with an SUV's. While the rig was
minding the rules of the road, it's what was spotted on the back that made several
horrified onlookers hit the brakes in disbelief and outrage of what they witnessed.
Other drivers on the road began honking incessantly at the scene, which only made angry people
more furious at what was in front of them. Apparently, a frustrated patriot had something
to get off his chest and put his loud and proud message across the back of his ride.
Although it was well-received by fellow conservatives honking in approval, liberal motorists weren't
too impressed with what this blunt badass had to say.
As a reminder to too many citizens who seemed to have forgotten, this driver set out to
inform them of the obvious, and also let welcome them to the new America under President Trump.
"This is America…We DON'T redistribute Wealth…we EARN it!" the Trump-supporter
had emblazoned his back window with, in big, easy to read white lettering that was apparently
a difficult concept for the left to grasp.
"Saw this patriot while driving," the poster wrote on Reddit with the photo snapped
while behind this unapologetic patriot. Despite the support for this message from hardworking
Americans on the right side of politics, liberals are furious that the handouts that they feel
entitled to aren't going to keep flowing in their direction unless they work for it.
It's hard to hear, but someone needed to say it and this car owner decided to be the
one to do it.Worthless Thug Tried To Rob a Mini-Market, Cashier Had His Own Plans And
Makes Him REGRET IT!
An armed suspect who attempted robbery of a gas station convenience store got the shock
of his lifetime. He pulled a gun on the man at the cash register, but little did he know
the person behind the counter was armed and ready for a fight!
The suspect, Emanuel Hamm, waltz in the front door of the store. He brandished a handgun
and the man behind the counter acted faster with his own gun. He fired shots at the robbery
suspect, SHOT HIM, and the suspect tried to flee.
He was picked up by police with gunshot wounds to his hand. The crook will survive the shooting,
but learned a really hard lesson not to mess with people.
When asked about the shooting, the clerk responded with a few choice words. He said "he had
no choice" – good thing the robber didn't shoot him back!
DARBYDALE, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — A clerk said he had no choice but to start shooting when
a robbery suspect walked into his gas station.
Surveillance video shows the confrontation inside the M & M food market Thursday night.
On Friday evening, it was the talk among customers.
Franklin County court documents said 27-year-old Emanuel Hamm walked inside the food mart on
Norton Road with a handgun.
The clerk didn't want to be identified, but said he knew something was up.
"He looked suspicious to me."
The clerk's suspicions were spot on. Police said Hamm planned on robbing the place, but
the employee derailed those plans.
"As soon as I saw the gun, I pulled mine and I shot him."
The only thing on this worker's mind was his family.
The store clerk was offered time off, but declined. He would rather be back at work
and talking about shooting someone than sitting home. He stated it was hard to shoot another
human, but he felt that he was in danger and could only think of his family.
Nothing wrong with acting out of self defense. We have a right to protect ourselves. He did
just that.
Our Constitution tells us that we have the right to bear arms. This store clerk took
full advantage of that and used it in a good way.
The only bad part about this – what if the clerk missed his shot? What if the robber
shot first?
There's always the X factor that we may not ever know the answer to.Putin Slipped
And Dropped MAJOR Bombshell LIVE On CNN Sunday Exposing Hillary's Hidden Skeleton
Ever since Trump became president, liberals have been incessantly pushing the bogus narrative
about a "collusion between Trump and the Russians." Liberals have continued to prop
up the propaganda as of late, even going so far to say that Attorney General Jeff Sessions
meeting with the Russian ambassador last year "proved" this narrative, even though meeting
with foreign diplomats is simply part of his job. As liberals continue to flap their gums,
Vladimir Putin has just dropped a shocking bombshell on Hillary Clinton, who ironically,
was the origin of where all this fake Russian propaganda all first began.
If there's one thing that Democrats are good at, it's projecting. And if anyone
is actually "colluding with the Russians" it's Hillary Clinton, who we all remember
worked the sweet deal back in 2013 as Secretary of State where she gave the Russians 20 percent
of our uranium in exchange for a whopping "donation" to the tune of $145 million
to her Clinton Foundation. But unfortunately for Hillary, her scandal just got a whole
lot worse. In an interview with CNN on Sunday, Putin's spokesman said that the Russian
ambassador met with Hillary's people on MULTIPLE OCCASIONS throughout the presidential
election.
The Russian ambassador also met with "people working in think tanks advising Hillary or
advising people working for Hillary," Dmitry Peskov told CNN "GPS" host Fareed Zakaria.
"Well, if you look at some people connected with Hillary Clinton during her campaign,
you would probably see that he had lots of meetings of that kind. There are lots of specialists
in politology, people working in think tanks advising Hillary or advising people working
for Hillary."
Let's read that again…slowly….the Russians were advising Hillary Clinton DURING her presidential
campaign!
Peskov dropped an even bigger bomb, saying that Putin has NEVER voiced support at any
time for the Trump during the election.
"You would probably recall that President Putin, during election campaign, had never
answered directly a question about his candidate of his support. He kept saying that we will
respect a choice of American people," Peskov told Zakaria.
Looks like Hillary and her team of swine have some major explaining to do. Remember these
idiots were DEMANDING that Jeff Sessions resign immediately for having his meetings with the
Russians. Oh but the Russian ambassador can actually MEET AND ADVISE Hillary's campaign
officials throughout the presidential election and that's okay? The next time a freaking
liberal tries to spew their propaganda about a "collusion between Trump and the Russians"
throw this story right back in their faces!
H/T [The Hill]ICE Just Raided Cher's Transgender Kid, DISGUSTING Find Made Inside Is WAY Worse
Than We Thought
Cher has seen her day in the spotlight for years as a successful singer but has since
slipped into obscurity after her liberal views and gender confused kid got the best of her
career. Having been so outspoken about our current administration just backfired on her,
when her daughter, now her son, just got raided by ICE who made a discovery that's going
to have a nasty ripple effect throughout all of Hollywood.
Cher's oldest child, Chaz Bono, who was born a female named Chastity Bono, apparently
had far more hiding in the closet than just his/her gender identity issues. The singer's
spawn is now making demands she's not entitled to as President Trump is in charge and doesn't
care about what she thinks she needs when she's actively breaking the law, and her
mother's status can't get her out of this one.
Bono saved a few bucks or perhaps attempted to be a social justice warrior, in hiring
a staff of illegal housekeepers to keep this entitled transvestite comfortable in her own
home. When the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) showed up to deport the illegal "help"
to the housekeeper, Bono pitched a royal fit in the only way celebrities and their kids
know how to do — on Twitter, as Biz Pac Review reported.
"My housekeeper's helper along with husband & children were arrested by ICE. @JerryBrownGov
What R you doing about this?" Chaz had the audacity to ask on the social media site.
She's completely clueless of the cause and is making demands for her housekeeper's
"hired help" — which means her housekeeper was paid in such substantial amount that the
the help was able to afford hiring their own "help." Unfortunately for this entitled
transvestite, she/he had to learn the hard way that just because you think you deserve
something, doesn't mean you're going to get it, especially if you openly admit to
hiring illegal immigrants not just as housekeeping, but non-essential staff to your housekeepers.
Where there is one illegal housekeeper in Hollywood employed, there are likely far more,
and you can pretty much guarantee that this is just the tip of the "ICE"-berg for
arrests. Trump is about to hit all those liberal elites in Tinsel Town where it hurts since
until it came to their illegal help, they were largely unaffected by the changes and
only want to appeal to their audience they trashed Trump to.

Exploring Korea-Japan relations, from Seoul to Tokyo - Duration: 7:55.Bilateral ties between Korea and Japan have long been complicated at best,...
But this time around, the relationship has soured to a point where the Japanese ambassador
has been recalled to Tokyo, following dispute over the so-called comfort women issue.
It's been over two months and counting but there's still no news of his return.
Our Oh Soo-young goes to Tokyo to see where this rocky relationship is going.
Diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan remain in deadlock,... after Japan pulled
its Korean ambassador and Busan consul-general in early January.
The temporary withdrawal was ordered by Tokyo after civic activists erected a statue outside
the Japanese consulate in Busan -- Korea's second largest city.
"The installation of the 'comfort woman' statue in front of the Busan consulate is deeply
regrettable."
"The Korean government finds the decision made by the Japanese cabinet deeply regrettable."
Tokyo claims the statue -- a girl that represents the victims of Japan's wartime sex slavery
program -- violates the landmark agreement it reached with Seoul in December 2015,...
with which the two governments promised the so-called "comfort women" issue would be finally
and irreversibly resolved.
Korea is also crying foul.
Japanese politicians continue to make provocative remarks,... and last week, Japanese high school
textbooks were found to have omitted historical facts about the issue,... in addition to marking
the Korean islets of Dokdo as their own.
This has further incensed civic groups, which believed the agreement failed to reflect the
wishes of the victims themselves.
It's almost been three months since the Japanese envoys were recalled.
Will Korea and Japan break out of this predicament and get their relationship back on track?
Without an ambassador to consult at the Japanese embassy,...
I headed to Tokyo to get some answers.
The first call I made was to the Japanese foreign ministry.
I'm calling to enquire about when the Japanese ambassador to South Korea will return to his
position.
Please ask or call to Korean embassy….
But it's a very simple question.
Can't I just get an answer?
Can I have your...
Or can I call you back?
Thank you."
"I've contacted Japan's foreign ministry several times but they've refused to give me an interview...
or a date when the Japanese ambassador will return to Korea.
It simply said it is reviewing the decision."
Given that, it seems Tokyo is in no hurry to restore its diplomatic channel to Korea.
I turned to some experts for their views.
"Japan is very concerned.
It's unsure of what to do right now before Korea appoints a new president.
It seems there's nothing it can do, because any negotiation that's undertaken now may
be of no use at all with the incoming administration."
"So we are probably not wanting any kind of revision, while we are afraid that the Korean
domestic political situation is going the other way.
You will have presidential election and most of the main candidates that they will abolish
the agreement.
But experts worry that keeping the ambassador's seat vacant for too long could worsen relations
even further.
"The presidential term begins immediately after the election, without a transition,...,
so if there's no ambassador to consult with and they can't build a relationship with the
winning candidate, bilateral relations could suffer."
In fact, some far-right groups in Japan are already trying to stir up anti-Korean sentiment.
"We don't need an ambassador in Korea or friendly relations.
The agreement made in December 2015 was a mistake on Abe's behalf.
The case was closed in 1965 when we apologized to Korea."
Experts say Korea and Japan must move forward together, against all odds, as strategic partners.
The key element is building trust,... something that was lacking over the past year.
"Following pressure from Korea and America,... Abe had no choice but to accept Japan's responsibility
for the sex slavery issue and open the door for negotiations.
So his actions -- the fact that he hadn't apologized himself, for instance -- have failed
to convince Korea that Japan is genuinely contrite in the spirit of the agreement."
"Had the leaders of both governments been more genuine and engaged with the public,
we might not be where are today.
If the next Korean president reassures Japan that he or she will actively persuade the
public to back the agreement,...
I believe relations can be rebuilt on new trust."
"Japan's official apology must be followed up by actions that support it.
Having politicians deny the coercion in sexual enslavement and Japan's wrongdoing... violates
the agreement.
We need to endorse the right understanding of the deal, which is to restore the dignity
of the former victims."
Meanwhile, the Japanese public seems tired of the diplomatic tensions.
In fact, some people I spoke to were unaware of recent events.
"I haven't heard anything."
"It's hard to say."
While those aware of contentious issues may hold differences in opinion, they believe
solutions lie above politicizing of relations.
"I am against the installation of the statue, so I think we need to find solutions through
deeper diplomatic talks.
We are neighbors, so it's vital we get along.
For the younger generation, they get along well -- it's just the politics that cause
problems."
"I wasn't taught about Japan's wartime sex slavery at school.
I don't think that's right.
I think we Japanese and the Koreans should learn about each others' histories and find
solutions."
"I heard on the news that relations are bad, but I have Korean friends and there are no
bad feelings between us.
I like Korea and I think we should learn more about each others' countries to build better
relations."
Tourism between the two countries has continued to hit new highs.
Some 2.3 million Japanese tourists visited Korea in 2016-- an increase of 23 percent
from the year before.
The number continued to grow in January by 13 percent,... and 28 percent in February.
The number of Koreans traveling to Japan has also increased more than 20 percent in January.
"Korea and Japan need to cooperate in many ways.
Political differences may exist, but through various channels of exchange,... points of
contention can be resolved and differences could narrow."
"We have to have psychological bindings, mutual trust, mutual existence, and I think in order
to create this kind of atmosphere, culture is the best way and the economic exchanges."
"While diplomatic ties may have sunk to new lows, interpersonal relationships between
Korea and Japan, it seems, are livelier than ever.
Perhaps the time is ripe for hard diplomacy to move past the politics -- and catch up
with the times -- in order to find workable solutions to long-standing issues of the past.
Oh Sooyoung, Arirang News, Tokyo."

BRICS: o Banco dos BRICS - Duration: 9:15.One planet, innumerable challenges.
To deal with them is crucial to have the resources available.
It was under this logic that the emerging countries forming the BRICS
Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa
created the New Development Bank or, as it became known, the BRICS Bank
The idea is to have, let's say, an agency of development finance
that would escape a little of the dependency that may happen in relation to the World Bank
and to those structures which are known as the structures of "Bretton Woods", made up of the IMF,
World Bank, Inter-American Bank, amongst others.
Creating a financial agency under the control of the BRICS countries
where there are no conditions imposed such as in the case of the IMF, with policies that try to
control national policies through loans and so on.
They would not impose nor political conditions, such as human rights or macroeconomics.
And in this sense the BRICS can differentiate, together with other
developing countries, especially African countries,
from the Western powers that have always attached these conditions to their lending policies.
But this has, obviously, a positive side, that is the non interference.
On the other hand, the BRICS also do not seek to innovate
the international human rights regime.
Not even in their own countries or even abroad.
Created in July 2014, by the evaluation of specialists, the NBD is still young.
But started its history marking the presence among other players in the international financial market.
It has already had influence on a World Bank reform and
in the reform of the IMF. In 2010, the G20 leaders
approved a reform.
But obviously, the G20 it's not an organ ... It's an informal forum.
The reform had to go through the normal procedures later.
And the US Congress was trying to bar it.
It may have been a coincidence, but I do not believe in coincidence.
Shortly after the creation of the BRICS Bank,
of the contingency fund, the American Congress approved the reform,
it is not a perfect reform, but it is an improvement
in the quota system of the World Bank and
the International Monetary Fund, increasing the role,
he power of the countries' votes.
Because the votes are weighted by GDP and a number of factors.
This is already something important right away. It has already occurred.
With the bank, the contingent reserve fund was created,
which has resources from the five countries,
but with predominance of Chinese resources.
A kind of insurance for cases of emergencies and against financial speculation.
In fact it signals to the international speculators that if the speculators decide to attack you,
Oh, I'm here, but here's this big cousin who's China,
so if you want to get into a fight with me, you can fight me
but you have to take into consideration that this big cousin
which is China is going to get into the fray on my side too."
For each of the five countries in the group, the new financial institution has different meanings.
China is singled out as the bank's great articulator.
A process in which China hides its own footsteps within the international system,
China cannot seem as big as it is. This is why the New Development Bank
or the Asian Infrastructure Bank are important to China because Chinese capital becomes the bank's capital.
The one who lends is not China, it is the bank.
This lowers China's footprint in the international market.
Brazil is the opposite. For Brazil, the BRICS is an echo chamber,
it will cause ... is an instrument to make
the voice of Brazil louder in the international system
The headquarters of the BRICSBank is located exactly in China, in Shanghai.
The question that is on the agenda is: what should a bank like this finance?
Education. This is what the countries of the BRICS core need to invest the most
Investment in public safety, health, education and social programs are crucial.
Of course, education, but I think it will not have
this interest because education makes people think
and people who think they claim their rights.
The first loans exceed $ 800 million with a defined profile, but still raises many doubts.
The first set of loans was focused on financing projects in renewable energy,
but we do not know what the impact is in terms of development of these projects,
we do not know the impact on local populations,
we do not know the impacts in environmental terms.
We know very little about these projects.
We do not know if the bank has a real commitment with the fight against poverty.
To try to influence these commitments, civil society has proposed some basic principles
for the performance of the institution.
The first principle is for the bank to have an inclusive development model,
that it thinks about development: social development,
human development, sustainable development.
A second principle is that the bank has to be democratic and transparent.
It is a new financial institution, it has public contributions and,
having public contributions, their projects have to be
known to all, the progress of the projects, risk analysis, including socio-environmental risks.
A third point that is very important is that the bank is based on robust principles.
Therefore, having principles such as international human rights treaties.
I think that one last element of the New Development Bank
is the dimension of sustainable development.
The bank, when it was created, had a strategic vision of investing in sustainable infrastructure
perhaps the experience shows us that investments in infrastructure have not been reconciled with another
element of the equation that is to be sustainable
In fact the BRICS do not prioritize environmental questions.
The BRICS Bank is supposed to devote its resources to environmental sustainability
and they try to present it as a green bank,
which would finance projects in the areas of renewable energy
and that it would focus on sustainability and on productive infrastructure but from a
a sustainable approach this discourse has many pitfalls.
The capacity of the BRICS Bank to really contribute to greater social justice also depends on
the internal conditions of each member country.
In Brazil, the current situation does not reveal anything encouraging.
If there are no resources available there is no hope for the poor of the world.
Also in Brazil, if there are no resources...
here are resources used that do not generate social inclusion, do not generate conditions…
It depends on the politics of the country. It's not with the bank anymore.
It depends on what the government is going to do. In the context of "PEC 55" does not make any sense
to ask the BRICS Bank if will help the poor.
Despite the difficulties, the bet is in the consolidation of the bank.
Which depends not only on the member countries but also the position of the United States,
now under the command of Donald Trump.
The tendency of the BRICS is to keep it up, to consolidate, there is no doubt.
Now a lot depends on what will happen in the dynamics among Russia, China and India.
Because if Trump really gets closer to Russia, Russia will lose interest in approaching China.
In this international dispute, what is the space of action of civil society?
How can social movements influence or not the performance of BRICS?
The search for answers to these and others questions is in the next episode of the series.
The opinions of the interviewees are the sole responsibility of the authors.
They do not necessarily reflect the institutional point of view of Actionaid or the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.

BRICS: o papel da China - Duration: 7:51.China. Numbers that impress.
More than 1,3 billion inhabitants.
Almost 10 million square kilometers in extent.
The second largest economy in the world.
The country is the next of emerging partners in the group known as BRICS.
The letter C of the acronym has prominent weight.
China has a very privileged position in the BRICS group
Because for China, contrary to Brazil or to South Africa,
being part of the BRICS is one amongst many other foreign policy initiatives.
In addition to the interregional forums, Shanghai Cooperation Organization with partners in Asia
it is now negotiating an area of free trade with Asian countries,
It has the new silk route, a project that will have a
significant impact in terms of trade and investment
not only in the countries of the region but with a worldwide influence.
The BRICS are an initiative of China.
This Chinese protagonism was identified from the first moment.
But for the ambassador Celso Amorim, it was not seen as a threat but as an opportunity.
The relationship with China was first perceived as a form of balancing
our relationship with other countries
from the political point of view, beyond the most immediate things.
And, in that sense, it has fulfilled that role.
But, it is true that within BRICS there is a certain imbalance between China and others.
We also have to be able to do this, not in a hostile manner, but these relations need to be balanced.
I understand that things have evolved more or less in a harmonic way.
Since the creation of the BRICS in 2009, to date,
China growth has been noticeable even by those who are not experts.
Possibly, in 10 or 15 years, it will be the largest economy in the world.
To achieve such economic growth they are adopting practices close to slavery and
At the end of the day there is an increasing tension over of
the meaning of China as a new international leader
and how it is expressed within the block.
Within the BRICS, for good or for bad, all countries are dependent on China
from the commercial point of view.
And China doesn't depend on any of the other four countries.
With the election of Trump and the prospect of China taking a leading role,
it can both strengthen the block around
Chinese interests or just dismantle it from now on.
The fact is, I think that much more than the BRICS as a core
that grows on participation in the world scenario and the decisions,
I see China emerging a lot more in the coming years.
The importance of China is decisive for the Temer government
does not neglect the participation in the BRICS.
China is at the top of Brazil's list of trading partners,
followed by the European Union, the United States and Argentina.
Brazil can't ignore countries like China, for example.
And that's why President Michel Temer went to the G20 summit in China
with the specific objective of meeting president Xi Jinping and showing that despite ideological differences,
Brazil will not give up on Chinese capital to develop.
This is one aspect: the current government can't ignore the BRICS,
weaken the BRICS, not prioritize BRICS, as it has been the case with most policies
which had been developedin the previous government,
but can't ignore the weight of a country like China.
Brazilian businessmen have interests in China.
It is China that buys the iron ore that is produced by
Vale in Brazil and has made Vale the world's largest mining company.
It is China that buys all of our soybean production,
and our agribusiness sector today stands as
a modern sector, stands as an export sector
that generates resources and foreign exchange for the country.
This speech of the Brazilian business sector,
these sectors that stand as modern sectors that bring
economic growth even today in the face of this scenario of crisis in Brazil,
depend on the Chinese market.
In recent months this scenario has become surrounded by questions.
In addition to the uncertainties in relation to Brazil,
there are internationa l issues as well.
The election of Donald Trump in the United States provokes
a real turnaround in relations between the great world powers.
And China is the main actor in this political scenario.
Trump's victory and the signs that this government gives,
about what will be its direction of the American foreign policy
point to an economic confrontation with China.
So, on one hand there is an economic confrontation with China
and a concession of space to Russia. Which will unbalance relations within the BRICS group.
The future of US hegemony depends on how China will be able to act.
If China wants to challenge the United States,
is doing politics to challenge the United States in Asia,
creating an Asian hegemony.
So how is Trump going to face China?
This we are about to see.
But there were some provocative signs, direct contact with Taiwan,
which is a very sensitive issue for China. This is going to be a big debate.
And the debate will not be intense only in the China - United States relationship.
There are those who point out the possibility of other reactions to the fury of Chinese investments.
China's growing presence in middle income countries among them the BRICS partners themselves,
can make Chinese investments seen as a threat, whether by the people,
whether by civil society or by the elites of these countries.
Due to its social and environmental impacts,
due to of their impacts in terms of labor regulation,
in terms of the perception of the denationalization of these economies.
In this way the greater Chinese presence in these countries
In terms of investments may lead, in the future,
To the collapse of the BRICS group itself.
Among the initiatives of the group led by China is the creation of the new development bank
known as the BRICS Bank.
This is the theme of the next episode of the series.

BRICS: você sabe o que é? - Duration: 7:17.Five letters.
An acronym which is still ful of mysteries for the population.
Madam, do you know what is BRICS?
"BICS"? - BRICS?
BRICS?
BRICS? I don't know.
Brics? Have you ever heard of 'BRICS'?
It is related to economics, something like that,
but I don't know how to answer that. I do not know .
It is something about countries, some organization.
But I do not know what it is
Brazil
Russia
India
China
and South Africa
In fact, BRICS is a group name formed by emerging nations
together they are responsible for 23% of the world gross domestic product, GDP
that is comprised of the produced wealth
The brics' countries hold 40% of the planet's population
The BRICS are an informal association of countries
They are countries that are characterized by having a large territorial extension
a huge population
and in the beginning, with very high growth rates
and the perspective of fulfilling a role in a world
that changed from the post cold war unipolarity
to the world of the multipolarity of greater interests of diverse countries.
The first BRICS summit took place in 2009, still without South Africa,
which became part of the group two years later.
Time of world reorganization with a remarkable Brazilian presence.
The role of Brazil was absolutely fundamental not only historically
but throughout the period that the BRICS was developed
In fact the idea,
the name BRICS was the creation of an economist of Goldman Sachs,
Jim O'Neill
but he had simply joined the countries that were important that
20 years ago were the 'Whale Countries' compared to the Tigers
It was Brazil that took the initiative
even before the BRICS, to create groups
that contributed to a multipolar world,
say so that were not subject to one hegemony.
One of these groups was the IBAS,
which includes India, Brazil and South Africa.
And the global order has already counted
on other organizations of established countries.
The G8 brings together the 7 world's
most industrialized countries plus Russia.
The G20 is broader and counts with representatives of the 19 most
most important world economies plus the European Union.
Brazil is also part of the G20.
So why was it necessary to create the BRICS?
BRICS is unique because it is congregated around the idea
of having greater influence on the part of the great
emerging countries in the international business.
That's the big news.
They are countries that have in common the fact of being very large
but that until then they were very disarticulated among themselves.
The group has an ambitious goal,
to change the correlation of forces in the world.
Opposing to the global hegemony of the United States.
BRICS, in fact, the grouping of these five countries,
from the first moment, was not very well seen
by the hegemonic powers, especially by the United States.
It represents a new grouping of very different countries
but somehow confronts the hegemony of the United States
from the geopolitical point of view on the international scene.
So I think that from this point of view of contributing
to the creation of a more multilateral world
to dissolve the hegemonic politics of the United States a little,
BRICS helps to change a little the international scene.
But the impact on the power's play of the international economy is still limited.
With Donald Trump's election in the United States, from the Republican Party,
the questions about this scenario increase.
The BRICS' challenges are many,
especially the ones related to social advancements.
The populations of the five nations comprising of the BRICS are diverse,
have their own characteristics and distinct realities
However there is much in common,
especially the need of facing the poverty reduction.
Poverty is about children and is about woman.
Statistics show this clearly.
I would say the element of commonality is there.
Another thing that is a big challenge for the BRICs,
which is closely related to the poverty eradication strategy,
has to do with education.
Education is the key element of the difficulty in eradicating poverty,
the difficulty of social and economic inclusion.
You see in various meetings of heads of State,
meetings of the civil society, in the academy
The eradication of poverty is to leave no one behind,
They are always the first strategies, which is very interesting.
Because it has almost become a default.
However,
you don't see effective articulation among
these countries in a common strategy to address this issue.
The preservation of the environment is also
an urgency that has been neglected.
To have an effective environmental agenda,
these countries should begin with serious commitments,
such as deforestation,
effective reduction of greenhouse gas emissions,
with established timelines, goals and objectives for the short,
medium and long term.
that are measurable and verifiable, but there is none.
In the real world,
these countries don't show collectively as a block nor individually
an effective commitment to a social and environmental agenda.
With limitations and obstacles, in seven years the group formed by Brazil,
Russia, India, China and South Africa
has gained a place on the world stage.
The greater the space, the greater the issues to be faced.
The prominent role of Brazil in the group
and the uncertainties as to how the country
will effectively participate within the BRICS under the Temer government
are subject of the next episode of the series.

BRICS: o Brasil no bloco - Duration: 7:57.When it comes to BRICS, Brazil is in the picture.
The country is the first in the acronym that gathers Brazil,
Russia, India, China and South Africa.
It is also one of the main actors in the creation of the group
during the government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
BRICS was created in the period after the crisis of 2008,
A period in which Brazilian diplomacy was very active, through Minister Celso Amorim
and Lula was a great international personality as well.
You must remember shortly after Obama's presidential inauguration,
Obama referred to him "the one", right?
Brazil had an international presence at that time
with the Lula government already in its second term.
Brazil is considered a pacifist country, a country that does not have many
grievances with other countries, a friendly country,
Then its ability to make connections grew a lot,
different from other BRICS countries
This gave Brazil a leading role within these countries,
including bridging the BRICS with other countries.
During a period in which it was sought to broaden international relations.
I think President Lula's foreign policy was marked by
this search for partnership diversification, to create new groups
and when the country was growing, the country also had
had a very strong international presence,
also resulting from the advances that were made internally.
Brazil had a very active foreign policy,
had opposed the Iraq war, took these attitudes in the WTO,
had a very proactive African policy.
All of this made Brazil a partner that, let's say,
led an integration process in South America effectively,
we can't say no because that was the truth
all of that made Brazil a very attractive partner.
Of course there are other important countries as well.
Mexico, for example that participated with us in the G5,
Egypt, Argentina ... it depends.
There are variable geometries, but these countries carry a lot
of weight and Brazil within those countries as well.
This process, in which Brazil stood as a protagonist,
begins to cool by the fact that Brazil begins to live,
especially from 2014, a very serious economic crisis,
which became acute already by 2015 and accompanied by a political crisis
At that moment, Brazil lost its capacity a little of interfering or leading the BRICS group itself
at this moment when we have a government whose legitimacy is questioned, on the one hand,
and on the other hand that has been presenting it self since its inception as a government
which would seek to realign Brazil to the traditional powers,
Brazil loses prominence within the BRICS.
This loss of protagonism is marked by the image of the
President Michel Temer at the Goa Summit in India in 2016,
seconded from heads of state.
The future of Brazil in BRICS is a controversial topic.
The international policy of the government that inherited
power after impeachment of Dilma Rousseff still leaves doubts.
For analysts, the presence of Brazil in the group is a non returnable path,
But there is no consensus as to the extent of its participation.
I think that in this process the Temer government moves away,
let's say, stresses a little with Russia,
because it signals all the time that, at the international level,
a more automatic alignment with Western powers
and in that sense, as Russia is an outsider within this international policy framework
it will surely stress with Russia.
And, let's say, in the case of South Africa,
that Brazil has historical relations and historically PT and the African National Congress,
which is the party of President Zuma in South Africa,
always had good political relations, right?
And probably also with South Africa relationships are now shaken
with the issue of institutional rupture or the coup, as how some would call it in Brazil, right?
I think the BRICS are today part of what we call the permanent interests of the country.
Finally, what is important in a foreign policy is its continuity in different governments.
It will have continuity as long as it represents the country's permanent interests.
Evidently, concrete circumstances, in short, like the state public finances and the level of coordination
of different government bureaucracies... But it seems to me very evident that there is no retreat
or hesitation about the fact that BRICS is a permanent interest of the Brazilian State.
But changes in the game of international foreign policy
may frustrate the Temer government's plans.
The election of Donald Trump, in the United States,
makes it difficult for Brazil to leave BRICS.
The Government of Temer and Serra, they bet on the possibility of rapprochement with the US.
To do together with Argentina, Pacific Alliance countries, Mexico,
Alca 2.0 and Hilary Clinton would be the perfect person to do that.
Therefore the election of Trump brings a lot to the table of these analysts.
The only new thing that Serra announced he would do was this.
But to make a deal you need both sides.
And now ... it would be difficult, now it is impossible.
Serra thought he had the key in his hand, Now there is no door, there is a wall.
He will have to reassert himself, rediscover the importance of BRICS,
for example, among other articulations.
Rediscovering the importance of Mercosul, that is, giving continuity,
more modestly, with less, perhaps, less ideology,
less words, more politics, to the foreign policy of Lula and Dilma.
For civil society, it is not enough for the country to remain in the group.
This driving role of this concern, of expansion of interests of the society and a rights agenda
with all the difficulties that this could have and with all the contradictions within BRICS
was a role that, of course, Brazil played with greater impetus
and it seems to me that this is clearly out of perspective for this government.
If Brazil's participation leaves doubts, the strong presence of China is also controversial.
What is the real weight of China? This is the theme of the next episode of the series.

The Land O'Lakes, Inc. Collaboration Center and the Borlaug Commons - Duration: 3:31.The Plant Pathology Library dates back to the mid-1980s when
Borlaug Hall was built and the library was built as a partnership between University of
Minnesota Libraries and the Department of Plant Pathology and it's been
supported by the generosity of many donors over the years. Over the past
decade, we've become aware that the way in which we as researchers, students and
readers utilize libraries really has changed. When I started in plant pathology
there were very few textbooks out on even general plant pathology. Things were scattered
all over the literature and so you go into a course and an instructor would be trying
to do his or her best and they'd hand you out this bloody long reading list
you know sometimes you wish you were twenty years old again so you could start all over
and do it right this time. Increasingly libraries are spaces for engagement and
creators of content so it really was that model that we utilized to re-imagine
the Plant Pathology Library.
Considering the trends in libraries generally we think that having an
engagement space is gonna be a lot more used by students and we're just very
excited about it. So all of the books and journals are still gonna be available
they're just moving to other places around the campus. They will be available in
other libraries and most of them will still remain on the St. Paul Campus.
We had input from almost 200 students some students wanted comfy sofa seating
others wanted tables for individual study or for small group projects so we've
got a variety of study tables and we've dedicated one room of the Borlaug
Commons to quiet student study. Most importantly I think the number one
request of students was that the space have lots of outlets for various gadgets. We've
made sure that the Borlaug Commons has many outlets throughout the whole space.
So I usually go back home to do all of my readings, but I think this place is nice and I also love
the colors that are here. So this is kind of like home now. I know that my dad would
be so proud of what is going on here at the University of Minnesota especially
in the Plant Pathology Department and I know the books are preserved and they're down in
a large library, and this space will accommodate the new modern era and I
think it's wonderful. Students learn a lot from each other but they have to
have a place to get together to learn from each other and all you need to do
is provide the catalyst. We see this transition to the Borlaug Commons as a
key step in making sure we're being good stewards of donor dollars and in
particular we understand that as libraries changes, as the very concept of libraries
change we need to change with that and we really think of the Borlaug Commons
as the Plant Pathology Library 2.0.

PRECISAMOS SER MAIS - Duration: 2:50.HOW DOES SOME PEOPLE REACT WHEN SOMEBODY DOES NOT MEET THEIR EXPECTATIONS
BUT SUDDENLY IT ALL CHANGES.....
Saturday we were playing soccer
and we did not have enough players
then we called a boy that was there wanting to play
but it was kinda…
Well
I
I love to play video games
I called a guy to play and everything
and then…
Man, we study together
but…
We were there having fun but, then
Jú started to drink
Drinking non-stop…
no one could take it anymore he over there, doing nothing…
his kinda slow
his got some difficulties
I said; aren't you a little behind?
finally I couldn't hold it in, I looked at him and said:
My God are you RETARDED?
he threw himself on top of other kids
Just like a MENTALLY HANDICAPPED PERSON
so I went there and said
What is your problem?? Do you have something in your head??
Are you AUTISTIC?
If you don't know how to play
leave the game
nobody is forced to put up with your incapacity
Can I introduce you to two people?
Of course
I am Otávio and this is my brother Ítalo
He is Autistic
eventhough we are children we experience prejudice
once a mother told her daughter
not to play with Ítalo
because he is diffrent
this prejudice really hurts
we believe that most of the time
an act of prejudice only needs love
to become non-existent!
We Fight!
We Fight! For a World Without Prejudice!
For a world without Prejudice!
