Steve and this is Game 2 of Round 2
of the IPA side yep so we've got last
year's winner going against Tropi-
Cannon from Heavy Seas so last year's
winner is a 6.4 percent with
60 IBUs and then the TropiCannon
is a little higher in ABV at 7.25 but
it's a little lower in IBUs and that's
at 45 so you know not terribly lower but
probably significantly more so the right
thought it would be but we'll just have
to see how they stack up correct which
one you'll start with well let's go up
last year's winner okay Deschutes
right off the bat I think you can tell
it's is it a little yeah darker and the
Deschutes kind of looks like it has most of that hop
residue in there maybe yeah it's
something a little yeah floating around
smells pretty good nice citrus yup
not very big but nice right taste
once again a good beer I think thats why we
picked it last year definitely
definitely tastes like kind of fades
quick but I like it right because if you
get that citrus and then it's kind of
right it's gone and you're ready for the
next sip to me maybe a little bit multi
piney on the back but the bitterness and
not almost nothing yeah okay Heavy Seas
wow that's still there that's crazy that
is it smells like I'm in an orchard
oranges and peaches wow that's such
a good smell all right taste
yeah that's crazy I like this beer the
thing thou it's the fruitiness is in
your face there but to me and I don't
know if it's because I drink this it's
like the sweetness isn't really there so
it's like I could drink 15 of these and
not be like oh my god I just drink the
sweetest beer ever right it's almost like
you have an orange like kind of the zest
in your mouth yes like it's not
overpowering sweet in fact there's
hardly any sweetness there no mango
orange peach but you're right you know
if you I mean you almost throw us under
a fruity beer kind of category or yeah we
win as well um but it's it is an IPA
yeah yeah hands down again I think Heavy
Seas takes this sorry last year every
this is a good beer i'm sure you guys
will come up with another one though and
just think we picked us because we never
have it and it was interesting yeah it was
the luck of the draw really right so that'll
do it for Game 2 of Round 2 until next

QUESTION DEPEND ON WHAT THAT QUESTION
IS. IT IS NOT ABOUT WHAT METHODOLOGICAL
APPROACH YOU PREFER; IT IS ABOUT WHAT
APPROACH IS LOGICALLY REQUIRED BY THE
RESEARCH QUESTION. THAT IS ALL GOOD

A WAY THAT MAKES IT FIT WITH MY
METHODOLOGICAL PREFERENCES. SO, LET'S FORGET
ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS IN A THEORETICAL
REALM; LET'S NOT EVEN TALK ABOUT
EPISTEMOLOGY OR ONTOLOGY; LET'S FORGET ABOUT
WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN. IN THIS VIDEO, LET'S

WE ARE IN IT, WE ARE IN CONTROL; WE STEP OUT
OF IT, WE TEND TO LOSE CONTROL, WE TAKE
RISKS AND WE MAKE MISTAKES. SO DON'T
BELIEVE THE HYPE -- THAT YOU CAN ONLY LEARN
AND GROW WHEN YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR
COMFORT ZONE. THAT'S NOT TRUE! IN FACT, IF
YOU LOOK AT HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL
ENTREPRENEURS, OR BUSINESS PEOPLE,
OR POLITICIANS, OR ARTISTS, OR WRITERS, OR WHATEVER,
NONE OF THEM ACHIEVED THEIR SUCCESS FROM

ACADEMICALLY RIGOROUS AND PUBLISHABLE.
LET'S BE HONEST HERE -- MOST BACHELOR
STUDENTS DON'T WRITE THEIR
DISSERTATIONS IN ORDER TO GET PUBLISHED,
THEY WRITE THEIR DISSERTATION TO
GRADUATE. AND LET'S BE EVEN MORE HONEST
HERE -- MOST UNIVERSITIES
DON'T NEED THEIR BACHELOR STUDENTS TO
PUBLISH THEIR RESEARCH, THEY NEED THEIR
BACHELOR STUDENTS TO GRADUATE AND THAT'S
THE TRUTH. SO FACTOR NUMBER ONE: IF
SOMEONE IS A TERRIBLE STATISTICIAN, GO WITH
QUALITATIVE! FACTOR NUMBER TWO: YOU SHOULD
CONSIDER A QUALITATIVE RESEARCH DESIGN
IF YOUR SUPERVISOR OR COACH OR ADVISOR
OR WHATEVER YOUR UNIVERSITY CALLS THAT
PERSON -- IF THAT PERSON HAS EXCLUSIVELY OR
PRIMARILY PUBLISHED ONLY QUALITATIVE
RESEARCH, THAT'S ANOTHER FACTOR THAT
SHOULD INDICATE TO US THAT WE MIGHT WANT
TO CHOOSE A QUALITATIVE DESIGN FOR THE
DISSERTATION. THE REASON FOR THAT IS -- IF
YOUR TEACHER OR PROFESSOR IS A
QUALITATIVE RESEARCHER THEMSELF,
CHANCES ARE THEY DON'T REALLY KNOW THAT
MUCH ABOUT QUANTITATIVE METHODS, AND
THEREFORE, THEY CANNOT SUPERVISE YOU AND
SUPPORT YOU VERY EFFECTIVELY IF YOU
CHOOSE TO DO A QUANTITATIVE STUDY. IN THE
CURRENT WORLD OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND
ACADEMIA, AS FAR AS I CAN SEE AND IN MY
HUMBLE OPINION AND OBSERVATION, THERE IS
STILL A CLEAR DIVIDE BETWEEN THE QUANTS
AND THE QUALS. THE QUANTITATIVE PEOPLE
DON'T REALLY KNOW THAT MUCH ABOUT
QUALITATIVE STUFF AND THE QUALITATIVE
PEOPLE PROBABLY KNOW EVEN LESS ABOUT
QUANTITATIVE STUFF. NOT ONLY THAT, MANY OF
THEM ACTUALLY LOOK DOWN UPON THE OTHER
SIDE AND THEY BELIEVE THAT THEIR APPROACH IS
SUPERIOR AND THEY THINK THE OTHER SIDE
IS SILLY. THERE ARE CERTAINLY
EXCEPTIONS!!! BUT GENERALLY SPEAKING,
THIS IS STILL VERY MUCH THE CASE. AND IN
A WAY, IT IS VERY NATURAL AND
UNDERSTANDABLE, BECAUSE NOBODY CAN BE
GOOD AT EVERYTHING. PEOPLE DEVELOP AND
POSSESS DIFFERENT EXPERTISE, FOCUSES AND
PREFERENCES IN TERMS OF RESEARCH AND
RESEARCH METHODOLOGIES. SO, IF YOU WISH TO
TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF THE KNOWLEDGE,
EXPERTISE, EXPERIENCE, AND SUPERVISION OF
YOUR PROFESSOR, AND IF THAT PERSON IS A
QUALITATIVE PERSON, YOU MIGHT WANT TO
CONSIDER PURSUING A QUALITATIVE DESIGN
YOURSELF. FACTOR NUMBER THREE: IF YOU ARE
LEANING TOWARDS A QUALITATIVE DESIGN AND
IF YOUR SUPERVISOR IS ALSO A QUALITATIVE
RESEARCHER, THEN THE NEXT THING WE WANT
TO MAKE SURE IS THAT OUR CENTRAL
RESEARCH QUESTION NEEDS TO BE FORMULATED
IN A WAY THAT FITS A QUALITATIVE DESIGN.
THIS IS SOMETHING ALREADY TOUCHED ON
AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS VIDEO, SOME RESEARCH
QUESTIONS JUST SIMPLY WON'T WORK WITH A
QUALITATIVE DESIGN. IF OUR RESEARCH
QUESTION IS HIGHLY CAUSAL OR IF WE'RE
DOING A DESCRIPTIVE STUDY WHICH DEMANDS
HIGH LEVELS OF PRECISION AND ACCURACY,
THEN WE SIMPLY CANNOT USE A QUALITATIVE
APPROACH. SO, WE NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT WE
FORMULATE A CENTRAL RESEARCH QUESTION
THAT IS EXPLORATORY AND INDUCTIVE. IN
OTHER WORDS, WE WANT TO BE LOOKING INTO
SOMETHING ABOUT WHICH THERE IS RATHER
LITTLE PRIOR LITERATURE AND RESEARCH;
SOMETHING ABOUT WHICH WE CAN EXPLORE A
BIT. FOR EXAMPLE, HOW CERTAIN NEW
TECHNOLOGIES ARE BEING UTILIZED IN A
PARTICULAR FIELD AND HOW PEOPLE PERCEIVE
OF THAT; OR HOW PEOPLE RESPOND TO A NEW
SOCIAL PHENOMENON THAT HAD NEVER
OCCURRED BEFORE. WE WANT TO BE FOCUSING
ON SOMETHING ABOUT WHICH WE HAVE NO
CLEAR EXPECTATIONS; ON WHICH WE CANNOT
FORMULATE HYPOTHESES; THINGS WE CANNOT
DIRECTLY COUNT OR MEASURE. I MADE AN
EARLIER VIDEO ABOUT DIFFERENT TYPES OF
RESEARCH QUESTIONS, WHICH YOU CAN CHECK
OUT HERE, I'LL PUT A LINK SOMEWHERE
THE SCREEN. I MIGHT ALSO MAKE ANOTHER
VIDEO IN THE FUTURE LISTING OUT SOME
GOOD EXAMPLES OF QUALITATIVE RESEARCH
QUESTIONS. BUT FOR NOW LET'S JUST SAY
QUALITATIVE RESEARCH QUESTIONS NEED TO
BE EXPLORATORY AND INDUCTIVE. AND WE NEED
SOMETHING LIKE THAT TO FIT OUR PREFERRED
QUALITATIVE DESIGN. FACTOR NUMBER
FOUR: BE PREPARED FOR SOME PRETTY
COMPLICATED COMPLEX MESSY TROUBLESOME
EVEN STRANGE AND ECCENTRIC QUALITATIVE
DATA ANALYSIS. IF STATISTICAL ANALYSIS IS
NOT FOR EVERYBODY, WELL, QUALITATIVE
ANALYSIS IS ALSO NOT FOR EVERYBODY. YOU
KNOW, THE GOOD THING WITH QUANTITATIVE
DATA ANALYSIS IS THAT WE KNOW WE WILL BE
DEALING WITH NUMBERS. QUALITATIVE DATA, ON
THE OTHER HAND, CAN BE ALMOST ANYTHING --
STORIES, TEXTS, NARRATIVES, PICTURES, VIDEOS,
DRAWINGS, PAINTINGS, EVEN DREAMS...
QUALITATIVE DATA ANALYSIS IS COMPLICATED,
EVEN IF WE JUST TALK ABOUT ANALYZING
TEXTUAL DATA LIKE INTERVIEW TRANSCRIPTS,
WE'RE TALKING ABOUT PROBABLY A HUNDRED
OR MORE PAGES OF TEXTS, AND THEN THE
CODING -- OPEN CODING, AXIAL CODING,
THE SELECTIVE CODING, ALL THE SENSE
MAKING, MODEL BUILDING, IT AIN'T EASY. IF
YOU DO A QUALITATIVE STUDY, YOU MIGHT SAVE
SOME TIME BY NOT HAVING TO LEARN
STATISTICS, BUT YOU ARE CERTAINLY GOING
TO PUT IN A LOT OF TIME IN TERMS OF
QUALITATIVE DATA ANALYSIS. AND ONE MORE
THING HERE, WHEN IT COMES TO QUANTITATIVE
DATA ANALYSIS, YOU CAN USUALLY GET
SOMEBODY TO HELP YOU. I MEAN IF ONE
OF YOUR FRIENDS IS GOOD WITH STATISTICS
AND KNOWS HOW THE SOFTWARE WORKS, THEN IT
DOESN'T TAKE A WHOLE LOT OF TIME FOR
THEM TO RUN THE ANALYSIS FOR YOU. BUT
WHEN IT COMES TO QUALITATIVE DATA
ANALYSIS, PROBABLY NOBODY'S GOING TO RUN
THE ANALYSIS FOR YOU. AND THIS IS BECAUSE
IT TAKES MUCH TIME AND THERE'S REALLY NO
SHORTCUTS. IN OTHER WORDS, FOR
QUANTITATIVE DATA ANALYSIS, FOR AN EXPERT,
IT DOESN'T TAKE HIM OR HER A WHOLE LOT
OF TIME TO RUN THE ANALYSIS. FOR
QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS, IT WILL PROBABLY
TAKE THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME FOR AN
EXPERT AND A NON-EXPERT TO PERFORM THE
SAME ANALYSIS ON THE SAME DATA SET. THERE
IS NO SHORTCUT.
SO YOU WILL HAVE TO PUT IN THE TIME
YOURSELF. IF YOU CAN HANDLE THAT AND IF
YOU THINK IT IS FUN AND INTERESTING AND
ENJOYABLE TO PERFORM QUALITATIVE
ANALYSIS, THEN QUALITATIVE RESEARCH
DESIGNS ARE INDEED FOR YOU. SO THESE ARE
THE FOUR FACTORS IN MY VIEW THAT WOULD
INDICATE WHETHER OR NOT WE SHOULD PURSUE
A QUALITATIVE RESEARCH DESIGN FOR THE
DISSERTATION. TO RECAP: FOUR QUESTIONS -- DO YOU
HATE STATISTICS? IS YOUR PROFESSOR A
QUALITATIVE RESEARCHER? IS YOUR RESEARCH
QUESTION FORMULATED AS AN EXPLORATORY

This Boring Taxonomical Change Is Making Dinosaur Nerds Go Crazy - Duration: 4:19.
Imagine if I told you everything you knew about dogs and cats was wrong… because we
decided that some animals we'd been calling dogs were actually cats.
If that happened, you'd probably have questions, right?
Well, that.
just.
happened.
This is a part of the dinosaur family tree.
On the left is the family that contains the Brontosaurus, Velociraptor and Tyrannosaurus
all over here in the Saurischia.Then here in the Ornithischia is the Stegosaurus and
Torosaurus (a.k.a, Triceratops).
Saurischia, Ornithischia -- aren't randomly assigned names.
As humans found more and more of these ancient bones, we started putting them into groups…
and just like Chubbs said, it's all in the hips.
These animals have three bones in their hips: the Ilium, Ischium and Pubis.
On Saurischians, they're arranged like this.
This is called LIZARD HIPPED -- great band name.
And in Ornithischians they're like this -- called BIRD HIPPED.
Theropoda means beast-footed.
It's a sub-category.
Big.
Difference.
And this is how paleontologists started categorizing these animals to trace their ancestry… it
dates back to 1887.
Until now.
In 2017, British scientists analyzed the anatomical samples and you know what.
Their hips don't lie.
Here's what they're proposing.
Ornithischians are not a separate group, but in fact, grouped with Theropods -- they want
to call this group Ornithoscelida -- a name thrown out in 1887, btw.
THEN if that weren't crazy enough…
This paper alleges, that the anatomy indicates the Saurischia are actually TWO groups.
Sauropodomorphs should be its own category -- meaning Diplodocus and Brontosaurus might
not even be dinosaurs.
What?!
First you tell me the triceratops isn't real, and now Brontosaurus might not even
be a dinosaur.
But that's not all... the analysis also says dinosaurs are almost 100 million years
older than we thought they were -- at 247 million years.
And that they may have evolved in the Northern Hemisphere rather than the Southern.
There's obviously a lot here.
The important thing to remember is, your favorite dinosaurs aren't going anywhere.
But the way we're thinking about how to organize them in complex charts like this
-- is being completely rewritten.
To do that… the researchers created a computerized model.
They took three years, visiting museums filled with dinosaurs all over the world.
They used the data available to calculate 457 different anatomical characteristics of
many species of dino (there are over 1,000 known) -- and looked for patterns.
From there, they made a computer model to form the best tree of life based on the data.
They plugged in the numbers over the years, and clicked go.
In five minutes it analyzed 32 billion different trees and picked the best one.
Done and done.
The click heard 'round the Jurassic World didn't immediately change everything though.
They're just suggesting the tree be rewritten.
130 years of tradition isn't going to be swept away overnight.
Now lots of nerds all over the world are going to debate dinosaur hips.
Yep.
It's going to get lit.
Now that it's generally accepted dinosaurs became birds, paleontologists are trying to
find out where the first dinosaur evolved, and how -- hoping to reveal more about the
history of life on our planet.
We only know dinosaurs exist today because of the bones of a few that died in very specific
ways -- allowing their bodies (or tiny parts of them) to be preserved.
There will be potentially thousands of species that we never find, and could have existed
completely without our knowledge.
So we have to base our understanding on what is left.
One of the researchers put it humbly, and well.
Just because this is backed up by data "doesn't mean it's right, just that it's the best
we can do with the data we've got at the moment."
I mean, if scientists were potentially wrong about something as fundamental as whether
these dinosaurs were bird-like or lizard-like… what else might science have to revise in
the future…

Episode 19 - Weeding the High Tunnel - Duration: 5:09.
Hi I'm Erin and this is Our Wyoming Life
Pulling weeds is one of those things that every gardener has to do.
Now some gardeners don't mind it and some hate it.
I personally hate it and always try to avoid it when possible.
Erin handles a majority of the weeding in the gardens.
Today Erin does the first weeding of the season.
In March.
This is definitely a first.
Usually the first weeding isn't until June!
I guess that means that Erin doesn't mind pulling weeds so much
Weeds are just a natural part of a garden.
If your dirt and water conditions are favorable enough to grow a vegetable that also means
that you'll probably grow a weed too.
There's lots of different ways to weed and lots of tools and gadgets out there to help
get the job done.
I'm pretty simply when it comes to weeding.
I pull them and I hoe them.
Here in the high tunnel you can see that our crops are growing very nicely.
The lettuce is starting to get big.
We did have about 15 heads die.
I'm not exactly sure what happened but I think that some of them died because I didn't
water them enough.
The ground isn't perfectly level and most of our crop loss is on the outside row that
is a little higher than the other two rows.
I think what was happening is that I was getting the dirt wet but it was also running off into
the other rows.
I am now being more diligent about making sure that top row gets enough water.
We've also had much warmer temps then I expected to have to deal with.
This heat may have actually caused some of our loss as well.
But we still have plenty of healthy looking lettuce.
Radishes are up and came in very nicely.
The leaves are starting to get decent size in some places so I'm hoping the radishes
underneath the soil are starting to form.
Spinach also came up abundantly and has developed it's true leaves.
Some are even getting close to being harvestable!
All of the crops have weeds in them.
Not a lot but it's time to take care of the weeds before things get out of control.
I'll start down with the spinach.
This is just going to have to be hand weeded.
Since I didn't plant in a row I can't run a hoe through the bed.
I just start on one end and work my way through.
All of the weeds are super little still so they pull very easily and don't disturb
the spinach roots.
Next I'll do the radishes.
Since radishes are planted in rows I can use the hoe in the bed between the rows.
But first I will go ahead and hand weed right up next to the plant and in between the radishes.
I'm also going to do a little bit of thinning as I go.
These are definitely not horribly thick but there are a few spots that would benefit from
a light thinning.
The radishes need adequate space to grow beneath the soil.
If they are too thick it will take longer and some of them will not get very large.
Now that I've got the weeds out of the rows and the radishes are thinned I will run the
stirrup hoe between the rows.
The dirt is actually a little bit wetter then I would prefer for hoeing.
I watered yesterday morning.
Ideal conditions would probably be sometime tomorrow and I have other plans and can't
carve out anytime to weed.
If the dirt was soaking wet I would not hoe.
Working the soil when it is very wet can actually be damaging to your soil structure.
This dirt is just a little but more damp than ideal so it'll be ok this time.
Lettuce is next.
I'm going to run the hoe through the bed.
Of course avoiding hitting the lettuce.
And I will hand weed as necessary.
Don't feel bad if you hoe a plant.
I can't begin to tell you how many plants I've killed accidently with the hoe.
It's of course not what I want to happen but death by hoe can occur at the hands of
even the most experienced gardener.
Everything is done and weeded.
It only took about ____ minutes.
The key with weeding is to do it when the weeds are small and definitely before they
go to seed.
The weeds are competing for the same key nutrients in the soil as your crops.
The more weeds and the bigger the weeds the less nutrients and water for your produce.
If your weeds get larger than your produce, the weeds will shade and stunt crop growth
even further.
So even if you hate weeding it's best to do it often and stay on top of it.
I actually don't mind weeding too much.
Mostly because no one bothers me when I weed.
No one wants to get talked into helping.
On the plus side, everything looks really pretty once you're done.

[E] EXID 이번 주 예능 5번 출연 (EXID on Air 5 Times this Week) - Duration: 1:24.
First item. With only 13 days to the comeback, EXID had appeared on TV all at once.
This week only, they appeared on 5 different shows. We'll have a closer look with Ahn Hee-Jin Reporter.
During this week, we were able to see EXID about once a day.
On the 4th week of March, EXID members appeared on 'Empty the Convenience Store', 'Let's Eat Dinner Together', 'Happy Together', and more on TV and Internet with the total of 5 times.
HYELIN, JEONGHWA, HANI have fixed their role in a program each. Also in upcoming April, EXID is planning to appear on 'Weekly Idol', 'Oh!QueNam' (New Show, first epi with HYELIN and HANI), 'Million Won out of Blue' (New Show, HANI Main MC).
With comeback stages and more, they will be appearing on enormous amount of programs in foreseeable future.
Many LEGGO stated that now it looks more like a Comeback time, with tons of news about EXID.
One stated that if they continue to show themselves right before the comeback, the overall outcome of the album would be better.
Anonymus: "Yes it is very good for them to be on the TV more often. Especially during the comeback season
It is better for them to be on TV than on some random concerts, because people will know who they are. But the only thing to be careful of is not to all-in on one week and disappear."
But others raised their concerns about EXID member's strengths. If they do all-in now, they will be wasted by the time they actually get into the comeback season.

Hello there!
This is the "Sounds American" channel.
In this video we're going to talk about the American vowel sound /i/
as in the word "be".
You can also hear this sound in words like
"each,"
"see,"
"key,"
or "ski."
Please, note, that we'll be using a special phonetic symbol - /i/ - for this sound.
The /i/ is the third most frequently used vowel sound in American English,
so pronouncing it correctly is important for your American accent.
Let's find out how to make this sound.
To make the /i/ sound,
you should focus on the correct position of your lips,
tongue and jaw.
Open your mouth a little,
stretch your lips as wide as you can,
and make them tense.
Raise your tongue very high and push it to the front of your mouth.
The tip of your tongue should be lowered just behind your bottom front teeth.
Remember,
the /i/ is a tense sound,

of the IPA side yep so we've got last
year's winner going against Tropi-
Cannon from Heavy Seas so last year's
winner is a 6.4 percent with
60 IBUs and then the TropiCannon
is a little higher in ABV at 7.25 but
it's a little lower in IBUs and that's
at 45 so you know not terribly lower but
probably significantly more so the right
thought it would be but we'll just have
to see how they stack up correct which
one you'll start with well let's go up
last year's winner okay Deschutes
right off the bat I think you can tell
it's is it a little yeah darker and the
Deschutes kind of looks like it has most of that hop
residue in there maybe yeah it's
something a little yeah floating around
smells pretty good nice citrus yup
not very big but nice right taste
once again a good beer I think thats why we
picked it last year definitely
definitely tastes like kind of fades
quick but I like it right because if you
get that citrus and then it's kind of
right it's gone and you're ready for the
next sip to me maybe a little bit multi
piney on the back but the bitterness and
not almost nothing yeah okay Heavy Seas
wow that's still there that's crazy that
is it smells like I'm in an orchard
oranges and peaches wow that's such
a good smell all right taste
yeah that's crazy I like this beer the
thing thou it's the fruitiness is in
your face there but to me and I don't
know if it's because I drink this it's
like the sweetness isn't really there so
it's like I could drink 15 of these and
not be like oh my god I just drink the
sweetest beer ever right it's almost like
you have an orange like kind of the zest
in your mouth yes like it's not
overpowering sweet in fact there's
hardly any sweetness there no mango
orange peach but you're right you know
if you I mean you almost throw us under
a fruity beer kind of category or yeah we
win as well um but it's it is an IPA
yeah yeah hands down again I think Heavy
Seas takes this sorry last year every
this is a good beer i'm sure you guys
will come up with another one though and
just think we picked us because we never
have it and it was interesting yeah it was
the luck of the draw really right so that'll
do it for Game 2 of Round 2 until next

OF IT, WE TEND TO LOSE CONTROL, WE TAKE
RISKS AND WE MAKE MISTAKES. SO DON'T
BELIEVE THE HYPE -- THAT YOU CAN ONLY LEARN
AND GROW WHEN YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR
COMFORT ZONE. THAT'S NOT TRUE! IN FACT, IF
YOU LOOK AT HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL
ENTREPRENEURS, OR BUSINESS PEOPLE,
OR POLITICIANS, OR ARTISTS, OR WRITERS, OR WHATEVER,
NONE OF THEM ACHIEVED THEIR SUCCESS FROM
OUTSIDE THEIR COMFORT ZONES OR BY DOING
THINGS THAT THEY ARE NOT GOOD AT! YOU
PLAY ON YOUR STRENGTH -- YOU DO WHAT YOU'RE
GOOD AT AND YOU IMPROVE IT AND YOU GET

SHOULD CHOOSE A QUALITATIVE DESIGN.
QUALITATIVE STUDIES CAN ALSO BE
ACADEMICALLY RIGOROUS AND PUBLISHABLE.
LET'S BE HONEST HERE -- MOST BACHELOR
STUDENTS DON'T WRITE THEIR
DISSERTATIONS IN ORDER TO GET PUBLISHED,
THEY WRITE THEIR DISSERTATION TO
GRADUATE. AND LET'S BE EVEN MORE HONEST
HERE -- MOST UNIVERSITIES
DON'T NEED THEIR BACHELOR STUDENTS TO
PUBLISH THEIR RESEARCH, THEY NEED THEIR
BACHELOR STUDENTS TO GRADUATE AND THAT'S
THE TRUTH. SO FACTOR NUMBER ONE: IF
SOMEONE IS A TERRIBLE STATISTICIAN, GO WITH
QUALITATIVE! FACTOR NUMBER TWO: YOU SHOULD
CONSIDER A QUALITATIVE RESEARCH DESIGN
IF YOUR SUPERVISOR OR COACH OR ADVISOR
OR WHATEVER YOUR UNIVERSITY CALLS THAT
PERSON -- IF THAT PERSON HAS EXCLUSIVELY OR
PRIMARILY PUBLISHED ONLY QUALITATIVE
RESEARCH, THAT'S ANOTHER FACTOR THAT
SHOULD INDICATE TO US THAT WE MIGHT WANT
TO CHOOSE A QUALITATIVE DESIGN FOR THE
DISSERTATION. THE REASON FOR THAT IS -- IF
YOUR TEACHER OR PROFESSOR IS A
QUALITATIVE RESEARCHER THEMSELF,
CHANCES ARE THEY DON'T REALLY KNOW THAT
MUCH ABOUT QUANTITATIVE METHODS, AND
THEREFORE, THEY CANNOT SUPERVISE YOU AND
SUPPORT YOU VERY EFFECTIVELY IF YOU
CHOOSE TO DO A QUANTITATIVE STUDY. IN THE
CURRENT WORLD OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND
ACADEMIA, AS FAR AS I CAN SEE AND IN MY
HUMBLE OPINION AND OBSERVATION, THERE IS
STILL A CLEAR DIVIDE BETWEEN THE QUANTS
AND THE QUALS. THE QUANTITATIVE PEOPLE
DON'T REALLY KNOW THAT MUCH ABOUT
QUALITATIVE STUFF AND THE QUALITATIVE
PEOPLE PROBABLY KNOW EVEN LESS ABOUT
QUANTITATIVE STUFF. NOT ONLY THAT, MANY OF
THEM ACTUALLY LOOK DOWN UPON THE OTHER
SIDE AND THEY BELIEVE THAT THEIR APPROACH IS
SUPERIOR AND THEY THINK THE OTHER SIDE
IS SILLY. THERE ARE CERTAINLY
EXCEPTIONS!!! BUT GENERALLY SPEAKING,
THIS IS STILL VERY MUCH THE CASE. AND IN
A WAY, IT IS VERY NATURAL AND
UNDERSTANDABLE, BECAUSE NOBODY CAN BE
GOOD AT EVERYTHING. PEOPLE DEVELOP AND
POSSESS DIFFERENT EXPERTISE, FOCUSES AND
PREFERENCES IN TERMS OF RESEARCH AND
RESEARCH METHODOLOGIES. SO, IF YOU WISH TO
TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF THE KNOWLEDGE,
EXPERTISE, EXPERIENCE, AND SUPERVISION OF
YOUR PROFESSOR, AND IF THAT PERSON IS A
QUALITATIVE PERSON, YOU MIGHT WANT TO
CONSIDER PURSUING A QUALITATIVE DESIGN
YOURSELF. FACTOR NUMBER THREE: IF YOU ARE
LEANING TOWARDS A QUALITATIVE DESIGN AND
IF YOUR SUPERVISOR IS ALSO A QUALITATIVE
RESEARCHER, THEN THE NEXT THING WE WANT
TO MAKE SURE IS THAT OUR CENTRAL
RESEARCH QUESTION NEEDS TO BE FORMULATED
IN A WAY THAT FITS A QUALITATIVE DESIGN.
THIS IS SOMETHING ALREADY TOUCHED ON
AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS VIDEO, SOME RESEARCH
QUESTIONS JUST SIMPLY WON'T WORK WITH A
QUALITATIVE DESIGN. IF OUR RESEARCH
QUESTION IS HIGHLY CAUSAL OR IF WE'RE
DOING A DESCRIPTIVE STUDY WHICH DEMANDS
HIGH LEVELS OF PRECISION AND ACCURACY,
THEN WE SIMPLY CANNOT USE A QUALITATIVE
APPROACH. SO, WE NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT WE
FORMULATE A CENTRAL RESEARCH QUESTION
THAT IS EXPLORATORY AND INDUCTIVE. IN
OTHER WORDS, WE WANT TO BE LOOKING INTO
SOMETHING ABOUT WHICH THERE IS RATHER
LITTLE PRIOR LITERATURE AND RESEARCH;
SOMETHING ABOUT WHICH WE CAN EXPLORE A
BIT. FOR EXAMPLE, HOW CERTAIN NEW
TECHNOLOGIES ARE BEING UTILIZED IN A
PARTICULAR FIELD AND HOW PEOPLE PERCEIVE
OF THAT; OR HOW PEOPLE RESPOND TO A NEW
SOCIAL PHENOMENON THAT HAD NEVER
OCCURRED BEFORE. WE WANT TO BE FOCUSING
ON SOMETHING ABOUT WHICH WE HAVE NO
CLEAR EXPECTATIONS; ON WHICH WE CANNOT
FORMULATE HYPOTHESES; THINGS WE CANNOT
DIRECTLY COUNT OR MEASURE. I MADE AN
EARLIER VIDEO ABOUT DIFFERENT TYPES OF
RESEARCH QUESTIONS, WHICH YOU CAN CHECK
OUT HERE, I'LL PUT A LINK SOMEWHERE
THE SCREEN. I MIGHT ALSO MAKE ANOTHER
VIDEO IN THE FUTURE LISTING OUT SOME
GOOD EXAMPLES OF QUALITATIVE RESEARCH
QUESTIONS. BUT FOR NOW LET'S JUST SAY
QUALITATIVE RESEARCH QUESTIONS NEED TO
BE EXPLORATORY AND INDUCTIVE. AND WE NEED
SOMETHING LIKE THAT TO FIT OUR PREFERRED
QUALITATIVE DESIGN. FACTOR NUMBER
FOUR: BE PREPARED FOR SOME PRETTY

This Boring Taxonomical Change Is Making Dinosaur Nerds Go Crazy - Duration: 4:19.Imagine if I told you everything you knew about dogs and cats was wrong… because we
decided that some animals we'd been calling dogs were actually cats.
If that happened, you'd probably have questions, right?
Well, that.
just.
happened.
This is a part of the dinosaur family tree.
On the left is the family that contains the Brontosaurus, Velociraptor and Tyrannosaurus
all over here in the Saurischia.Then here in the Ornithischia is the Stegosaurus and
Torosaurus (a.k.a, Triceratops).
Saurischia, Ornithischia -- aren't randomly assigned names.
As humans found more and more of these ancient bones, we started putting them into groups…
and just like Chubbs said, it's all in the hips.
These animals have three bones in their hips: the Ilium, Ischium and Pubis.
On Saurischians, they're arranged like this.
This is called LIZARD HIPPED -- great band name.
And in Ornithischians they're like this -- called BIRD HIPPED.
Theropoda means beast-footed.
It's a sub-category.
Big.
Difference.
And this is how paleontologists started categorizing these animals to trace their ancestry… it
dates back to 1887.
Until now.
In 2017, British scientists analyzed the anatomical samples and you know what.
Their hips don't lie.
Here's what they're proposing.
Ornithischians are not a separate group, but in fact, grouped with Theropods -- they want
to call this group Ornithoscelida -- a name thrown out in 1887, btw.
THEN if that weren't crazy enough…
This paper alleges, that the anatomy indicates the Saurischia are actually TWO groups.
Sauropodomorphs should be its own category -- meaning Diplodocus and Brontosaurus might
not even be dinosaurs.
What?!
First you tell me the triceratops isn't real, and now Brontosaurus might not even
be a dinosaur.
But that's not all... the analysis also says dinosaurs are almost 100 million years
older than we thought they were -- at 247 million years.
And that they may have evolved in the Northern Hemisphere rather than the Southern.
There's obviously a lot here.
The important thing to remember is, your favorite dinosaurs aren't going anywhere.
But the way we're thinking about how to organize them in complex charts like this
-- is being completely rewritten.
To do that… the researchers created a computerized model.
They took three years, visiting museums filled with dinosaurs all over the world.
They used the data available to calculate 457 different anatomical characteristics of
many species of dino (there are over 1,000 known) -- and looked for patterns.
From there, they made a computer model to form the best tree of life based on the data.
They plugged in the numbers over the years, and clicked go.
In five minutes it analyzed 32 billion different trees and picked the best one.
Done and done.
The click heard 'round the Jurassic World didn't immediately change everything though.
They're just suggesting the tree be rewritten.
130 years of tradition isn't going to be swept away overnight.
Now lots of nerds all over the world are going to debate dinosaur hips.
Yep.
It's going to get lit.
Now that it's generally accepted dinosaurs became birds, paleontologists are trying to
find out where the first dinosaur evolved, and how -- hoping to reveal more about the
history of life on our planet.
We only know dinosaurs exist today because of the bones of a few that died in very specific
ways -- allowing their bodies (or tiny parts of them) to be preserved.
There will be potentially thousands of species that we never find, and could have existed
completely without our knowledge.
So we have to base our understanding on what is left.
One of the researchers put it humbly, and well.
Just because this is backed up by data "doesn't mean it's right, just that it's the best
we can do with the data we've got at the moment."
I mean, if scientists were potentially wrong about something as fundamental as whether
these dinosaurs were bird-like or lizard-like… what else might science have to revise in
the future…

Episode 19 - Weeding the High Tunnel - Duration: 5:09.Hi I'm Erin and this is Our Wyoming Life
Pulling weeds is one of those things that every gardener has to do.
Now some gardeners don't mind it and some hate it.
I personally hate it and always try to avoid it when possible.
Erin handles a majority of the weeding in the gardens.
Today Erin does the first weeding of the season.
In March.
This is definitely a first.
Usually the first weeding isn't until June!
I guess that means that Erin doesn't mind pulling weeds so much
Weeds are just a natural part of a garden.
If your dirt and water conditions are favorable enough to grow a vegetable that also means
that you'll probably grow a weed too.
There's lots of different ways to weed and lots of tools and gadgets out there to help
get the job done.
I'm pretty simply when it comes to weeding.
I pull them and I hoe them.
Here in the high tunnel you can see that our crops are growing very nicely.
The lettuce is starting to get big.
We did have about 15 heads die.
I'm not exactly sure what happened but I think that some of them died because I didn't
water them enough.
The ground isn't perfectly level and most of our crop loss is on the outside row that
is a little higher than the other two rows.
I think what was happening is that I was getting the dirt wet but it was also running off into
the other rows.
I am now being more diligent about making sure that top row gets enough water.
We've also had much warmer temps then I expected to have to deal with.
This heat may have actually caused some of our loss as well.
But we still have plenty of healthy looking lettuce.
Radishes are up and came in very nicely.
The leaves are starting to get decent size in some places so I'm hoping the radishes
underneath the soil are starting to form.
Spinach also came up abundantly and has developed it's true leaves.
Some are even getting close to being harvestable!
All of the crops have weeds in them.
Not a lot but it's time to take care of the weeds before things get out of control.
I'll start down with the spinach.
This is just going to have to be hand weeded.
Since I didn't plant in a row I can't run a hoe through the bed.
I just start on one end and work my way through.
All of the weeds are super little still so they pull very easily and don't disturb
the spinach roots.
Next I'll do the radishes.
Since radishes are planted in rows I can use the hoe in the bed between the rows.
But first I will go ahead and hand weed right up next to the plant and in between the radishes.
I'm also going to do a little bit of thinning as I go.
These are definitely not horribly thick but there are a few spots that would benefit from
a light thinning.
The radishes need adequate space to grow beneath the soil.
If they are too thick it will take longer and some of them will not get very large.
Now that I've got the weeds out of the rows and the radishes are thinned I will run the
stirrup hoe between the rows.
The dirt is actually a little bit wetter then I would prefer for hoeing.
I watered yesterday morning.
Ideal conditions would probably be sometime tomorrow and I have other plans and can't
carve out anytime to weed.
If the dirt was soaking wet I would not hoe.
Working the soil when it is very wet can actually be damaging to your soil structure.
This dirt is just a little but more damp than ideal so it'll be ok this time.
Lettuce is next.
I'm going to run the hoe through the bed.
Of course avoiding hitting the lettuce.
And I will hand weed as necessary.
Don't feel bad if you hoe a plant.
I can't begin to tell you how many plants I've killed accidently with the hoe.
It's of course not what I want to happen but death by hoe can occur at the hands of
even the most experienced gardener.
Everything is done and weeded.
It only took about ____ minutes.
The key with weeding is to do it when the weeds are small and definitely before they
go to seed.
The weeds are competing for the same key nutrients in the soil as your crops.
The more weeds and the bigger the weeds the less nutrients and water for your produce.
If your weeds get larger than your produce, the weeds will shade and stunt crop growth
even further.
So even if you hate weeding it's best to do it often and stay on top of it.
I actually don't mind weeding too much.
Mostly because no one bothers me when I weed.
No one wants to get talked into helping.
On the plus side, everything looks really pretty once you're done.

With House Republicans said to make another push to pass Obamacare, perhaps as soon as
next week according to a Bloomberg report, some have speculated whether Trump will engage
democrats this time to assure at least a few votes from across the aisle.
Overnight, however, House Speaker Paul Ryan poured cold water on the idea, saying he does
not want President Donald Trump to work with Democrats on overhauling Obamacare.
In an interview with "CBS This Morning" that will air on Thursday and which was previewed
by Reuters, Ryan said he fears the Republican Party, which failed last week to come together
and agree on a healthcare overhaul, is pushing the president to the other side of the aisle
so he can make good on campaign promises to redo Obamacare.
"I don't want that to happen," Ryan said, referring to Trump's offer to work with Democrats.
Carrying out those reforms with Democrats is "hardly a conservative thing," Ryan said,
according to released interview excerpts.
"I don�t want government running health care.
The government shouldn�t tell you what you must do with your life, with your healthcare,"
he said.
On Tuesday, Trump told senators attending a White House reception that he expected lawmakers
to reach a deal "very quickly" on healthcare, but he did not offer specifics.
"I think it's going to happen because we've all been promising - Democrat, Republican
- we've all been promising that to the American people," he said.
Trump said after the failure of the Republican plan last week that Democrats, none of whom
supported the bill, would be willing to negotiate new healthcare legislation because Obamacare
is destined to "explode."
Meanwhile, speaking to Bloomberg, two Republicans said that leaders are discussing holding a
new Obamacare repeal vote next week.
The ray of hope for Trump and Ryan is that members of the Freedom Caucus, which was instrumental
in derailing the bill, have been talking with some Republican moderate holdouts in an effort
to identify changes that could bring them on board with the measure.
A renewed attempt to pass Obamacare repeal would come after President Trump and Republican
leaders in Congress said they would move on to issues like a tax overhaul in the wake
of last week�s drama, when the long-awaited bill was pulled 30 minutes ahead of a scheduled
floor vote.
Asked if the GOP health bill will come up again, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy
said, "Yes.
As soon as we figure it out and get the votes."
Quoted by Bloomberg, Kevin McCarthy said nothing is currently scheduled and didn�t indicate
how leadership would resolve divisions between the Freedom Caucus and moderates in the so-called
Tuesday Group.
"Lot of people are talking," he said.
"Lot of people are working."
For now, it is nothing but noise.

Planned Sequels That Were Completely Abandoned - Duration: 7:10.
Sequels are a big business in Hollywood, and every studio loves a franchise.
Still, sometimes a movie just can't pass that initial bar of quality that gets a sequel
greenlit in the first place.
Filmmakers might have grand plans for a franchise, only to have them thwarted before they can
get started because of lousy reviews and low box office receipts.
Here are some planned sequels that were completely abandoned.
Superman Returns Again
Bryan Singer's Superman sequel from 2006 was kind of a bad idea from the start.
It followed up the events of Superman II, ignored Superman III and IV, and two of its
major plot points revolved around Superman super-stalking his former girlfriend, Lois
Lane, as well as a revelation that her son was their secret love child.
Worst of all, the movie didn't really give Superman very much to do in terms of actually
fighting bad guys, which, y'know, is one of the things Superman does best.
Warner Bros. pulled the plug on the possibility of another Singer-helmed sequel, which screenwriter
Michael Dougherty says might've introduced Brainiac and more Kryptonians to the screen.
"Identify."
"Try asking nice."
"Kryptonian…"
Batman Triumphant
George Clooney's first outing as the Caped Crusader in 1997's Batman and Robin was not
supposed to be his last.
In fact, Warner Bros. was gearing up to bring back Clooney and co-stars Chris O'Donnell
and Alicia Silverstone for a sequel titled Batman Triumphant, which would've been directed
by Joel Schumacher.
However, Batman and Robin was a critical joke, summoning more laughs than its campy script
ever intended.
Audiences who'd flocked to watch Val Kilmer in the batsuit just two years before simply
didn't show up to see what Uma Thurman's Poison Ivy and Arnold Schwarzenegger's Mr. Freeze
would be adding to the villainous fold this go-round.
Spoiler alert: They didn't miss much — except for a few terrible puns.

The ice age!"

Learn it well for it's the chilling sound of your doom."
Good times.
If Batman Triumphant had happened as planned, it reportedly would've relied on the Scarecrow
and Harley Quinn as the Joker's daughter to play the bad guys.
And they would've been joined by fear-gas induced appearances from the Joker, Penguin,
Catwoman, Two-Face, and The Riddler in an effort to get Bruce Wayne committed to Arkham
Asylum.
Dredd 2
This is probably the most tragic entry on the list, since the first Dredd, starring
Karl Urban, is a legitimately amazing movie.
Unfortunately, it seems that the stink of Sylvester Stallone's 1995 Judge Dredd adaptation
was too strong for moviegoers to ignore, and Dredd failed to find an audience during its
theatrical run.
It's a cult hit, though, so there's still an outside chance Dredd 2 could happen before
we all get old and die.
In fact, in early 2017, producer Adi Shankar vowed to make some sort of follow-up happen
— even if it's animated.
He told Collider, "I'm gonna make it happen at some point.
It may not be live-action, but it's going to happen at some point.
There will be more Judge Dredd at some point."
Fantastic Four 3
The first cinematic outing from 20th Century Fox's adaptation of Marvel's first family
wasn't great — but it did well enough to spawn a sequel, 2007's Rise of the Silver
Surfer.

The original 2011 Ryan Reynolds vehicle was supposed to kickstart a whole DC superhero

million on the movie — and it only barely turned a profit.
Between the film's cliffhangers and its efforts to build a big world for Green Lantern to
play in, the movie was considered a failure, and all plans for a sequel were scrapped.
Now Green Lantern's set to be rebooted to fit in with the DC Extended Universe…presumably,
at least the studio hopes, for the final time.
The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes
By all estimations, the adaptation of Cassandra Clare's Young Adult sensation series The Mortal
Instruments seemed like it'd be the next big hit in the vein of Twilight and The Hunger
Games.
It had all the essential ingredients, including a huge book-loving fanbase that clung to every
moment of the production phase and cast members who engaged in an offscreen romance to mirror
their screen counterparts.
So, naturally, 2013's The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones was expected to launch an entire
franchise that would've capitalized on the craze surrounding its sister series.
The script for City of Ashes had already been drawn up, and the actors and crew already
had a production schedule in place before the results of the first film's release came
through — and put the brakes on everything.
It wasn't the early critical blasts that stymied the sequel — don't forget, scathing reviewers
stung the Twilight Saga, too.
It was the fact that the much-hyped film grossly disappointed at the box office, making just
half of its production budget back in domestic sales, and, according to Cassandra Clare herself,
the sequel to Ashes would've been "unrecognizable" to the book series faithful, thus weakening
audience interest even further.
Ultimately, despite some early signs that the second Mortal Instruments pic might be
retooled and eventually made, the project was abandoned, and the series was instead
relegated to the small screen by way of Freeform's Shadowhunters.
So, it wasn't a total wash.
Twins 2: Triplets
Twins was something of a high-concept comedy that revolves entirely around a single sight
gag: muscle-laden Austrian superman Arnold Schwarzenegger and teeny tiny Brooklynite
Danny DeVito play long-lost twins.
The 1988 hit, directed by Ghostbusters mastermind Ivan Reitman, was a breezy romp in which the
two stars hung out and goofed off under the auspices of their characters getting to know
each other.
"Who are you?"
"I'm Vincent's brudda."
"We're twins."
And because Twins was such a hit, rumors hit almost immediately after its release that
a sequel was coming.
In 1989, a representative for Reitman said that the director was considering making a
movie called...wait for it...Triplets.
The top candidate to play the third long-lost multiple didn't look anything like the others,
which was essential of course, and was the hottest comedy star of the moment: Roseanne
Barr.
That movie never got made of course, but in 2012, there was renewed talk of Triplets,
without Barr, but with Eddie Murphy.
But considering how many years have passed with no more news on that front, Triplets
is probably not gonna happen.

New Style Of Bottle Stoppers! Woodturning Projects - Duration: 5:11.
Hi am Carl from ThewoodshopTV today
i'm going to make a couple of bottle
stoppers a few weekends ago when i was
at the oregon woodturning symposium I
ran into a couple and they're making a
new style of bottle stopper where you
don't even need a lathe they can be done
off lathe I'll make up both of these
I'll leave a link down below in the
description where you can find these as
well let's get started help support the
companies that support our community as
far as the depth of the portion of it
that's really up to you and the style
you're looking for this one I went in
about a quarter of an inch but I made a
few of them and I went in about three
quarters of an inch as far as turning it
I just put it in the pin jaws and
expanded them to hold on to it and I use
a spindle gouge at 3,000 rpms and then
it put a couple little detail lines on
it with a new easy wig tool it's a fine
mini detailer I'll show it at
the end of the video as well
the second one here I didn't turn but
you start out the same way just drill
down into it with the hitch in three
eights Forstner bit I went about a half
an inch in on this one I lost a little
bit of the footage when I was sanding it
but I used the belt sander to sand it
into a little pyramid shape and then
finished it up doing some hand sanding
as far as the inserts go they have three
little holes in it four screws it comes
with the screws I just lined it up in
the center use an Awl and then
pre-drilled for it and that's about it
just put the little rubber stopper on
and you're done you can do any shape you
want on these it's pretty simple there
we go there's not a whole lot to it like
said in the video you just drill one
with the force in a bit on these ones
here I went in a little bit deeper so it
covers up the lip of the bottle but do
anything you want and you don't don't
need a lathe to do them either so it's
pretty cool design they do make another
style here and it's just I can't get
this off i'll put a link down below to
their website and their phone number
because they don't think they have them
open for sale on their website yet holy
cow they stick on there but they have
this little stoutly or two where you
just drill into the blank and I you CA
glue to glue that in
you slide the little stopper right over
it and if you want to see how I made
made this style I did live show on
twitch where I made made a couple of
these out of the blinks that Spencer and
Connie company saw it really easy to and
I just use tackle it Chuck to make these
eyes let that into the cullet junk and
grab ahold of it to turn those but like
I said I think it's sad I think it's
gone you can do stuff of the lathe I
don't know why you would want to but if
you so desire you can all right i am

we are having a fantastic time and I
rules good I'm sure that I have already

At this point, it would be pretty much impossible not to have heard about last night's Trump
rally where Donald Trump was rushed off the stage by Secret Service Agents after calls
of a gunman.
Well, maybe you have been wondering "Why is the media being so quiet about who the
man who attacked the rally was?"
