Hey everyone!

Welcome back to Versus!

A series we do here on top 10 nerd where we take two characters, usually one from DC and

another from Marvel, and match them up to see how they'd fare in a hypothetical battle.

Doctor Doom and Lex Luthor are in the ring with us today, meaning we'll be analyzing

two men with incredible intellects who both have their own twisted view on why the world

would be better if they dominated it.

It's all really for the better of humanity, right?

That being said, let's jump in.

Before these two put up their fisty cuffs, let's briefly dive into their origins, starting

off with DC's super villain mastermind, Lex Luthor.

Lex first hit comic book stands back in 1940 when he appeared in Action Comics #23.

Back then he was only known as Luthor, and was simply a diabolical genius who lived in

a flying city and was preoccupied with provoking war between European nations.

When Clark and Lois investigate him, Lois is kidnapped, and Superman must save the day.

In their first encounter, it's implied that Luthor died, but he would return, and his

encounters with Superman would commonly end in a way where readers were unsure if he had

survived their battle.

Oh, and he also had hair back then, which he would lose in the upcoming years, and would

later be explained in Adventure comics #271 twenty years later - the hair loss was due

to gas fumes.

In these early stories, Luthor's goal was usually one of financial gain, but as the

character progressed, he started to become intent on ridding the world of Superman, who

he not only saw as a threat to his own megalomaniacal plans, but also as a threat to humanity's

existence.

And to some extent, the latter point made sense.

Moving on to Doctor Doom!

Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Victor Von Doom first appeared in 1962 in the Fantastic

Four, and since then has always been their archenemy.

The funniest part is, is if Doom actually achieved his goals, it probably would be in

humanity's best interest – in one premonition of all the possible futures of the Earth,

the only one in which Earth was safe and peaceful was one where Doctor Doom reigned supreme

– this was confirmed by Doctor Strange while staring into creation during the Secret Wars

story arc.

So how did Victor end up so diabolical?

Victor's mother was a witch named Cynthia Von Doom, who was killed by Mephisto when

he was quite young.

Their family was part of a Latverian Romani tribe, and his father was a renowned medicine

man who had hidden Cynthia's abilities for years.

Shortly after her death, the leader of the tribe name Baron had his wife fall ill, and

when Victor's father failed to heal her, his was labelled a murdered and they fled.

His father died trying to keep Victor alive in the harsh weather conditions, and Victor

returned back to the tribe to discover the truth about his mother.

From then on out, he swore revenge on Baron, and grew into a brilliant man who combined

sorcery and technology, which caught the attention of the Empire State University, who offered

him a position there.

He took it, leaving his true love Valeria behind, hoping to use the experience to build

a machine that he could use to communicate with the dead - specifically his mother.

His roommate was Reed Richards - needless to day the two didn't hit it off - and Reed

told Doom that his calculations were off for his machine.

Victor went ahead with it anyway, and after it was secretly sabotaged by Ben Grimm, the

machine exploded, which caused severe damage to Victor's face.

Victor was expelled, so he travelled the world, built himself his suit of armour and became

Doctor Doom.

Moving on to abilities!

Doctor Doom has a super-genius level of intelligence, he's a scientific genius, a powerful sorcerer,

and knows a thing or two about combat.

And those brains have acquired him the necessary brawn he needs to take on some of the most

powerful Marvel heroes.

The armour he crafted and wears gives him superhuman strength and nigh-indestructibility.

His gauntlets have built in scanners.

He's capable of energy projection and absorption, flight via rocket propulsion boots, and can

create an impenetrable force field.

His suit is also built to last a long time underwater and in outer space.

Plus, his suit is outfitted with a ton of high tech weapons and gadgets.

Oh and that magic component of his powers?

Well he can summon hordes of demonic creatures, and apparently has enough magical ability

that he could stand a chance at becoming the new Sorcerer Supreme.

He can also psionically transport his consciousness into the bodies of others if he chose to do

so.

On the flip side of that, it's been noted that Doom's weakness is his arrogance, stemming

right back to his origins and how he can't blame himself for the accident that scarred

his face – he prefers to blame Reed, fuelling their rivalry.

That being said, the villain has a strict code of honour, and will always keep his exact

word.

What about Lex?

Well, Lex has a bit of a disadvantage.

He only has the regular capabilities of a normal adult, with no sign of meta human abilities.

That being said, he's a genius, and has eidetic memory.

He's widely considered the most intelligent human in the DC universe, and one of the most

intelligent beings out of all the species depicted in that universe.

He's mastered fields of science that include space travel, time travel, extra-dimensional

travel, biochemistry, synthetic polymers, communications, transportation, energy generation,

spectral analysis, robotics, computers, mutations, and holography.

He's whipped up many an impressive battle suit before when needing to face off against

beings stronger than himself - like Superman - which have rocket boosters that allow him

to fly on end for days.

His current suit also generates a powerful invisible energy shield, and is armed with

a ton of kryptonite weapons that Luthor is skilled when using in close range combat.

And now, onto the fight!

So there's two ways this could go down.

One, if both knew who the other were facing and had time to prepare, and two - if they

just happened to encounter one another and got into a conflict.

For that latter, we'd have to assume that Lex was in his battle suit, otherwise it'd

be far from a far fight.

Needless to say, the former would make for a much more interesting fight, since the latter

would likely result in Doom defeating Luthor - even with Luther's quick thinking, Doom

has too much power in his arsenal, both tech and mystical, that would likely catch Lex

off guard and defeat him.

So the Winner?

Doctor Doom.

Luthor just doesn't stand a chance against the kind of power Doom has access to.

While they may be intellectually equals, the fact that Doom's a powerful sorcerer - he's

stolen other heroes' powers before, like Scarlet Witch and Silver Surfer.

He's beaten the likes of the Hulk, and Galactus, and the fact that he would stand a chance

at becoming the sorcerer supreme, well, Lex just couldn't hold his own on those terms.

Perhaps he'd be able to find a way to combat Doom if he had a proper amount of time to

prepare, but in the suit alone, his kryptonian weapons would be no use here.

Good morning, everyone.

Hello.

Today, I would like to make a video just to put you to sleep.

this morning, I woke up, worked out

I had been uploading a video in 4 languages each week,

so 4 videos a week at least.

I weighted 62kg.

And then, because I worked too much on my videos, didn't eat well

and worked out less than usual...

I lost a lot of weight and

at the end of January, I was only 57kg.

It was the lowest of my life.

I had been 62kg for years.

So, it was like a shock.

I knew that I was losing weight but I didn't know it was that much.

That's also why I have decided to change this crazy schedule that I had until recently.

I'll be trying to concentrate on my health first and then

as I will be happy, healthy, I'll be able to make better videos.

For you and for me.

Because for me, ASMR is an art.

I often say it's the Art of Sounds for Meditation and Relaxation.

It's just something I thought about.

For me, it's not only to make you feel good and put you to sleep.

For me, it's really an art.

And so, if I'm too tired and if I don't have any pleasure in making this,

I cannot do it.

Recently, because I was tired,

I was feeling that I wasn't happy with the videos I was making.

they're refined sugar free and they are freakin amazing so let's go and make some

allright so you're gonna have a little silicone tray and you're gonna

fill it up with these cupcake tins I guess they're just from made from paper

and we're gonna put a bunch of dates cuz this is our sweetener do not complain

everyone okay this is our only sweetener here and then we have a pinch of salt

cacao and lucuma powder a lot of people have asked me if you need the

lucuma I think it gives a nice flavor so try to get it I will link it below and

then some water and of course our sprouted almond butter from Dastony I

will be talking about this in a moment it is quite delicious so that's going

into the blender to make our chocolate and then coconut butter instead of

coconut oil so once you blend that up you will want to eat the entire thing I

promise it's gonna be very hard very hard to resist so then this recipe is

gonna make six almond butter cups and they're very dense you're only gonna

want to eat one believe me so I'm kind of distributing this so that it kisses

the walls of the little cupcake tin things so that you know you have some on

the walls of it yeah just like that in a little round with your spoon very easy

and simple to do and then we freeze this baby up freeze it and don't forget the

exact recipe is gonna be on my blog with all the measurements and the freezing

instructions and you know all that good stuff so this is our awesome sprouted

almond butter and it really makes a difference it tastes really really good

it's high-quality and sprouted almond butter is a lot better for you than

regular almond butter in terms of digestion and absorption of nutrients so

now that our tray is out of the freezer we're gonna add some oh my

gosh goji berries there we go so goji berries they are yummy and they

just give it like a little tart flavor it's nice and then a little bit of the sprouted

almond butter in each almond butter cup it's gonna go right in the

middle see how easy this is I don't know how many five six ingredients very easy

and then you're gonna smother it on top with the rest of your chocolate and also

get some on your hand be sure to do that I don't know if you caught that

of course I licked it off do not worry and you put it in the freezer and that

is how easy this is I hope you love this recipe as much as I do and I want to say

Winter Favourites [CC] - Duration: 9:17.

Hi everyone!

My name is Frede and today, I'm gonna talk about my favourites from this past season,

i.e. my winter favourites.

So I've done this kind of seasonal favourites type of video after the last couple of seasons

actually.

So I did autumn and summer and so today, I'm gonna talk about my favourites from my least

favourite season.

I hate the cold and I also hate the dark.

The dark is kind of going away slightly but it's still so cold so I don't like winter

at all.

But there were at least some things that I really enjoyed throughout winter so I thought I'm

gonna talk about those today.

The first thing that I wanna talk about is that in December I got my first tattoo.

I can't show you because it's like here on my arm and I can't like- y'know?

I can't show you.

But I'm going to insert a photo so you can see it.

It's a jay which is like my favourite domestic bird kind of and I'm really happy with how

it turned out.

I was terrified before I went but I'm really happy that I took the plunge and actually

did that because yeah, I'm really happy every time I look at it.

Another thing that made me like really happy in winter is that in the beginning of February

my mum, my sister and I went to a cat café.

I'd been there a couple of times before but like it just made me so happy.

It's rather close to where I live so we just went there on a Sunday, just had a tea

and something to eat and then just got really happy and excited about the cats there.

So I love cats and I adore this cat café.

In kind of all my other past favourites videos I always talked about some sort of game that I liked

to play and I've got one again for this one.

And that is an app that I'm not sure if you can get it for Android, I think you can,

but you can definitely get it for an iPhone.

Which is called Peak.

It's an app where you do little games that are supposed to like help develop your- or

enhance or whatever, your cognitive skills.

So you have things with memory and like, I don't even know, language, focus, things like that.

And like just very short games, they don't take a lot of time and they're just so fun.

And I actually played this every single day in December as well as in January.

I kind of didn't really play it much in February because I didn't have the time and the mental

energy to do that.

But it's just a really fun little app and you can download it for free and there are

a couple of games you can play with the free version and then you can also get like the

full version which does cost money obviously but before Christmas they had it on offer

for like a very, very reasonable price so I was like 'I'm gonna do that.'

Because I just played it every single day and it was just a lot of fun and I thought

that's worth it so- So if you like games that don't feel like really stupid that's

maybe one you might want to check out.

Because it was a lot of fun and it kind of reminded me of those Nintendo DS games that

there used to be.

Like, I don't even know what those are called in English but those where you do like brain

training, I don't know, brain jogging or something.

That's at least something that I played when I was like 10.

So I love this game and it was a lot of fun playing it.

There are two podcasts that I really enjoyed in winter and they are very different so I

feel kind of strange having them here right next to each other.

The first one is called Singing Bones.

Basically it's a podcast that talks about fairy tales.

And each episode, sometimes there are even double episodes, is concerned with a certain

fairy tale.

The host first of all looks at the story, then she talks about ways you can interpret

the story, what kind of origin- like possible origins there are of the story.

Because obviously, fairy tales do not just have one person who came up with it.

Or at least classical fairy tales in the folktale kind of sense.

And then she talks about different versions kinda of that fairy tale and how you can interpret

these different versions, what it means that they exist in those kinds of ways.

Yeah, I just really enjoyed listening to this podcast.

It's currently on some sort of hiatus I think, it hasn't really been updated since like summer

or something.

Which is sad, but I think she's still working on it.

And I checked her Instagram I think and there she said that there will be more episodes.

And even if not for a while, there's at least a backlist you can listen to so if you like fairy tales,

that's definitely one you should check out.

Another podcast which is very different from Singing Bones is called Heaven's Gate.

And it talks about the Heaven's Gate cult.

And I just really like slurped this one up.

I started listening to this on the 27th of February and was done on the 28th.

There are like 10 episodes and I don't have a lot of time right now so finishing those

10 episodes in two days is like amazing.

But like every single free moment that I had I would listen to this podcast because it's

so well done and it's so interesting.

Not sure I'd heard of the Heaven's Gate cult before but it was basically a cult in

the 70s to the 90s that kind of believed in resurrection through like aliens.

[laughs] So it was in some sense a very Christian cult but they also believed in like extra-terrestrial

beings and UFOs and things like that.

And they eventually committed mass suicide.

Which is also talked about in the podcast so if this is something that might be triggering

to you I would not recommend this.

But if this is something that you can deal with hearing about, this was such a fascinating podcast.

Basically, the host doesn't just go into the story of the cult like how long they were

there, what they did and that they all killed themselves eventually.

But he really tries to understand the people who were involved in this.

And it's done so well because the host did a lot of interviews actually with people-

ex-members of the cult as well as family members or, yeah I think it were mostly family members

of people who were part of those 39 people who eventually killed themselves.

And that way you get the closest insight into something like that as you can.

And I think with something like cults, especially if it ends as terrible as this one did, it's

very easy for us to like be 'wow, these people were nuts, they were brainwashed, this

is all crazy.'

And I think he really tries to treat what happened with respect and to and to really

try to look at the motivations and what those people were actually thinking.

And so I just thought that was just done really well and as I said treated with a lot of respect.

Also the host himself kind of grew up in a cult so there's also one episode where he talks

about that.

And it's just- it's just really, really well done.

And to finish this off kind of, there were a couple of things that I really enjoyed watching.

The first of them is the new season of Black Mirror.

It was released in late December and I watched the entirety on one day.

[laughs] So- I think there were quite a lot of flaws in a lot of the episodes, there were

some episodes that I found really weak, for example "Crocodile", I did not like that

episode at all.

But Black Mirror has this thing that just kinda sucks you in and you can't stop watching.

So that was my experience with that season as well, I just really loved watching it.

I actually also wrote a uni paper about the episode "USS Callister", so yeah, I really

enjoyed watching that season.

And then I also went and watched a lot of YouTube videos about Black Mirror.

There are amazing videos that really go into analysis and look at like ways the episodes

are connected.

I'm going to be leaving one playlist down below of one person who analyses each episode

on its own.

And I really enjoyed watching this playlist, it's fascinating and if you like Black Mirror

that might be interesting to you.

Another thing I really enjoyed watching, and I kind of- I don't know how to properly

say the title but it's also kind of a YouTube playlist thing actually and that's

UNHhhh.

It's a kind of video series on YouTube done with Trixie and Katya from RuPaul's Drag Race.

And they just make these really weird videos where they talk about random shit but they're

so funny.

And I just- I loved it.

It's a lot of fun watching it.

And I have watched I think 2 or 3 episodes of Drag Race but I'm not very much a fan

of this kind of competition show type of thing.

So I don't feel too compelled continuing that.

I think it's fun but there is a lot of other things that I find more interesting, more

compelling that I want to watch.

But those videos on YouTube, they're just hilarious.

They're super weird but they're hilarious so I really enjoyed watching those.

So yeah, those are a few things that I really enjoyed throughout winter although it is really a

season that I do not like at all.

But there were at least a few things that kind of brightened up my days.

And I'm really happy we're kind of moving towards spring because I can't wait to be

rid of the cold and the dark.

and today it's all about ArmaSkin socks.

ArmaSkin socks, if you've not come across them,

they're just unlike anything you've ever seen before.

Essentially, you put this sock on first

and then a normal athletic sock over the top.

And the reason they're so different is

what's on the inside layer of this sock.

It's a silicone material and it's really sticky.

It's so sticky that you can't just

pull this sock on like a normal sock,

you've got to roll it on.

It's really odd.

But the way they work is

because of the high friction level on the inside

and the low friction level on the outside,

the two sock layers slide against one another quite easily,

and that mean less stretching in your skin,

They're a little bit ungangly.

Months ago, Jenner and boyfriend Travis Scott were reported to be having a baby girl, according to TMZ, though the reality star hadn't confirmed her pregnancy, at the time.

Jenner did not reveal that she was pregnant until after her daughter, Stormi Webster, was actually born.

On February 4, 2018, Jenner uploaded an 11-minute video to YouTube, titled "To Our Daughter", dedicated to her daughter.

The video opens with footage from 20 years ago, when Jenner's mother, Kris, gave birth to her.

This was when viewers got their first glimpse of little Stormi, but just of her fingers.

Only recently did fans get a look at her entire face.

Jenner and Scott have been dating since April 2017, so their having a baby is definitely a surprise, according to Cosmopolitan.

Just after Jenner first welcomed her daughter into the world, on February 1, 2018, an insider told E! that, "Kylie's first few days of motherhood have been the happiest of her life.

She feels like being a mom is her true calling and there's nothing that's ever felt so right.

Bringing the baby home has been the greatest joy and most sacred experience, she is elated and overjoyed.".

The source also said that, "Travis' family is also very involved and thrilled for Kylie and Travis.

Kylie feels like everything is coming very naturally to her and that being a mom is what she's meant to do.

She's loving every minute and cherishing these first few days.

The feeling she has is unlike anything she's experienced before.

The family is closer than ever and just so thrilled to be growing at such a rapid pace." Jenner appears to be a hands-on mom and has been embracing motherhood, though she is only 20 years old.

And, even so, a source told People that Jenner "is very protective of Stormi and of introducing her to new people and the outside world.".

While Jenner has, of course, hired some help to aid her in caring for her little one, People has also reported it to be a family affair, with an insider revealing that, "Kim and Kourtney have especially been helping out along with Kris.

Kylie knows they've all been through the ringer with their own kids and newborns and wants what's best for her and Stormi.

She's all ears when they've tried to provide her with tips and guidance to be the best mom she can be.".

On Keeping Up With the Kardashians tonight, Jenner and her pregnant sister, Khloe Kardashian, reveal to viewers that that they are three months apart in their pregnancies.

Jenner gave birth February 1st, so it sounds like Kardashian is due close to May, or possibly the end of April, right? And, while Jenner and Kardashian were both expecting, sister Kim Kardashian-West welcomed her third child, Chicago West, into the world via surrogate.

Baby Chicago was born on January 15, 2018.

Now all of Kris Jenner's kids have their own children except for Kendall Jenner, but she's taking the fashion world by storm (no pun intended).

A NUMBER OF WRESTLERS LIKE KENNY OMEGA AND THE YOUNG BUCKS HAVE OPENLY SPOKEN OUT ABOUT

SIGNING WITH WWE, PREFERRING TO WOW FANS ON THE INDY SCENE RATHER THAN SELL OUT THEIR

TALENT FOR FAME AND FORTUNE.
