That was Tanjil Rashid reporting. Chris the policy wonks they are saying there's

a 13% inner London swing to Labour were we to see that that would be enough for

Labour to take Westminster for the first time how worried are you? Well I think

we've all seen how accurate opinion polls are at the last election and the

referendum So you don't believe them? And well I mean let's wait until the

election actually happens but I think Westminster City Council have an

incredibly strong story they charge the lowest band D council tax in the country

it's less than half their immediate neighbor Labour controlled Camden and

yet their services are excellent So why are Labour doing so well?

We don't know they're doing so well and they collect the bins twice a week in

Westminster in Croydon my borough Labour run and bin collections have been cut

they've got the highest social mobility in the country their children's services

are rated outstanding by Ofsted whereas in Croydon the Labour run Borough I'm from

the children services have been found to be dangerous You're giving me a list

of what we see as the achievements of the council but we've just heard there

you may say that we can't believe the polls but look what happened in the

general election in terms well Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour Party did much better

than people thought so I say to you again the last time this was a marginal

area you have to go back to Shirley Porter and the homes for votes scandal

so what is happening Well I mean I think Andy Slaughter alluded to it clearly in

the general election a national election and there were significant challenges

for the Conservatives especially in inner London but this is a local

election it's about local issues and Westminster

Council in common with Wandsworth and other Conservative councils do a

fantastic job doing delivering excellent services for low tax unlike Labour run

councils like Croydon where I'm from who do a terrible job and in things like

Children Services and collecting rubbish while charging exorbitantly high council

tax Right they would still have to be an enormous swing I mean it may be great

publicity to say that Labour may take the scalp of a council that you have

never held in recent time but it is actually unrealistic Well I know the

note of desperation in in Chris's voice and I and the fact that Labour is trying to

win Westminster very seriously which it is and it has great representation has

fantastic MP in Karen Park has a great opposition there but you're right he is

a very big ask because you asking to go from having a quarter of the seats to

to winning but there is a chance but it will take a lot of work

and it will take a big turnout from voters like the EU voters we heard from them

but also from people who I'm sorry but Chris absolutely gets it wrong about

Westminster it is a terrible council it has some of the what it has the six

highest child poverty in the country people think it's wealthy area it's not

and yet they've taken ten million pounds the last two years out of childrens services But as you said, it's still unrealistic for

Labour then to actually win it I mean could you sit here today and say

we're going to win that I'm you're very stupid to predict the results of

elections people weren't predicting that labour would take Hammersmith three

years ago and we did and we are the only council since then to actually cut

council tax during that time in London so and I hope that we will win again on

our record but the Tory record in Westminster is terrible

particularly on housing one of the worst achieving councils in terms of

providing affordable housing in London How do you judge this policy from the

leader of the council who's asking the richest residents to pitch in with a

voluntary tax do you support that This is more desperate amateur stuff isn't it

you cannot run government on the basis of charity look the real crisis in local

government is because every council has at least a third of its budget cut by

the cuts in central government during the austerity period central government

or the cowardly chose to cut local government rather than cutting some of

its own services Is this just a gimmick I mean would you like your constituents your

richest constituents to pay around 850 pounds a year more donated to council

coffers? Well I mean look I'm always in favour of trying new things then you've

got to be you know flexibly minded and let's give it a try and see

what happens I'd be perfectly happy for Croydon council to do that in fact the

Conservatives on Croydon council have proposed exactly this measure but let's

take Westminster as an example they've got you know on housing which Andrew

mentioned we've got 415 homeless places overnight shelter places in Westminster

the highest in the country there are seven teams of people going around every

night in Westminster actively trying to help homeless people so I think

Westminster have a very proud record of delivering great services for low

council tax and that's why they deserve to get reelected so long as that's what

these elections are about Why not just put up council tax I mean this system

which Andy Slaughter has said is a gimmick really it's a charity

rather than a charitable donation rather than setting up a new system why not

just put up the council tax why don't you advise Westminster to do that? Well it's up

to Westminster to set their own level of council tax but if they if they felt

they absolutely needed to rely on that money to run their services I'm sure

they would put their council tax up but this is a voluntary measure to provide

additional services and people can choose whether to pay it A good idea for the

rich to pitch in? Look it's it's a it's a joke you cannot run government on all

the charity of individuals street homelessness has gone up 140 percent

since the Tories got back into government there are 2,500 families in

temporary accommodation in Westminster it's a shambles and this sort of gimmick

isn't going to convince anybody

Hello.

Hello.

Well, we didn't finish the wooden deck on our tiny shipping container house yet.

But we're getting really close to it.

Yeah. We have assembled all the joists on place.

And that's what we are gonna talk about today.

So, let's get it started.

I know you must be wondering what we're gonna talk about.

It's just like you know connecting a joist on a beam. That's something really simple, right?

Well, for a professional it's probably really really simple.

For us anything we do we always have questions, we always have doubts.

And we always I don't know it's never that simple as it seems.

Yeah. But, we have learned a lot with all the process.

And that's what we're gonna talk about today.

Yeah. We are gonna show you guys all the decisions we needed to make.

What we decide, how we did it.

And in the end we're gonna give you guys some tips about the whole process and what we learned with it.

Yeah.

So, the first decision and probably like the main big decision was

how to connect the beam to the joist.

And that was the first time that we asked you about it.

Yeah.

So.

Yeah. Actually we've thought about two choices.

First choice would be to basically you know .. I'm gonna draw it. Probably like somewhere around here.

The first choice was to get the beam and the joist and have a screw 45 degrees connecting both parts.

And then we thought about the second choice that would be to have the beam and the joist

and to have a screw straight 90 degrees on the center of the joist.

Most of the people said that the second one would be better. But they came up with another solution.

Yeah. The thing is most of the people said this second choice would be the best one.

But we were still not too sure about it. I mean like...

Because the dimension of the hole would be really big and the wood is not as wide.

So I think the section of the beam will be... I mean too small for the size of the hole.

And maybe it would be weak on the tip.

So, someone gave us a third option.

Yeah. What's the name of the...?

Bracket.

Yeah.

Metal bracket.

On the side.

Yeah.

So, that's the drawing.

So, it's basically like, we would have like a metal bracket in between the joists in the beam.

But we had a problem.

It's hard to find the size that we want in Brazil and if you find it's really expensive.

Yes. So basically... we actually even thought about this before I think but the problem is the price.

I'm I mean like it's impossible. It's like it was just so expensive to buy one, you know big one.

and the cheap one was really small and I don't think it would hold on place.

So we decided to make ourselves the brackets.

And... what happened?

Yeah.

It's like a snowball.

Yeah. It's always like a snow ball. You make a decision and then you need to make another one...

Yeah. Seems like building is just like a bunch of decisions you need to keep making.

Every single day.

And when you make one it becomes necessary to make another one.

it's just decision after decision.

So, we had the choice of buying the metal like in a L shape.

And we needed to do the holes.

And to cut it into pieces.

Slide, splice, sply... Split.

To split in pieces.

Ok.

So basically we bought a big piece of metal on the right shape

and then we just you know did all the holes we needed and then we just split.

For doing the holes we needed to buy another equipment.

Yeah. The problem is like we could do with a regular drill,

but it's really thick, it's like 3 millimetres thick, the metal.

And then it would take forever. And then the regular drill machine is too fast, the rotation.

And we decided that would be much easier if we had a drill press.

So.

Another decision.

So, we had the option of buying a brand new small and not too powerful drill press

or we could get almost the same amount of money and buy a bigger one, stronger one but used.

And we found one.

We found a used one.

We found one.

So, we decided to go... yeah.

So we decide to go with the used one. So we bought a half horsepower drew press.

That's... I always want to have one. And it's really good.

And a brand new one of this one was like four times the price of the one that we bought.

Yeah. We paid like a quarter of the price. So it was a really good choice.

So, I guess we can go...

We already like always... we're just talking too much. I'm sorry.

It's just the way I am. I like to talk and like communicate. You can tell.

She's a little bit shy, she won't talk as much as me, but happens.

So, like always we're gonna show you guys a video clip showing the whole process of what we did.

And the results.

And then we're gonna show the mistakes we made and the tips we can give you.

Yeah. I mean like...

We learned a lot all the way so we're gonna give you guys some tips that I think we wish we had before.

We wish we... that someone gave us the tips before.

So we're slowly putting all the joists to the top of the shipping container.

But it's raining. So you're not gonna fix them today.

Tomorrow hopefully, if the rain stops, we're gonna screw all on place.

So we can start the second part of the roof.

I don't know... like 20 joists to bring up. So... let's keep working.

So, let's get back to work.

Well, now that you have seen what we did it's time to talk about tips.

Let's start with the wood.

Yeah. So when we buy the wood they sell like a regular measurement.

Yeah. We bought already on the size we need, that is 6 by 12 centimetres section by 3 meters long.

So we supposedly had all in the same length.

But...

In reality.

Yeah.

I mean like they're really close to the same length

but one is like 3 meters and the other one is like 3.1 meters and the other one is 2.98.

And these small measurements makes a difference when you put all together.

And they are not 6, they are 5 and half.

Yeah. That's the other thing. Because they call it 6 by 12 but in reality it's 5 and a half by 11 and a half.

Because they plained the wood.

So. First, let's start with the lenght.

We thought all the woods were 3 meters long,

so you know like the end of the the joist would be all straight.

And in reality it wasn't like that.

So, we decided to get the outside and make it straight.

And then we're gonna fix the other side when we do the finishing

because you're gonna have a piece of wood on end.

So we're gonna somehow you know fix this different lengths.

So, the second problem, as she was saying, was the thickness of the wood.

Because I thought it was 6 centimeters.

So we did the math, like we count that the joists of the edges...

Yeah. We fix the last joist.

The one before that one.

Yeah. Actually we did the one before the last, because the beam sometimes is not that straight on the tip.

We decided to do this one before the last the one before the last and we fix that on place.

And then we measured this space in between both joists and divided by the amount of space we had.

So that means...

And then we did a template.

And then we did a template.

Yeah. So we did a template to put in between each.

So we would you know have a joist put a template another joist fix it up another template and keep going.

And we are lucky that we didn't fix it up before.

Yeah, That's a good thing... you always try 3 times on place before you screw it.

The thing is we did the math thinking we had 6 centimeters wood

and in fact we had 5 and a half centimeters wood.

So 15 spaces times half centimeter in the end we had like

I don't know like 10 centimeters.

It was a mistake like this big.

So, tip number 1.

Don't trust the measurements you think you have.

Make sure you measure yourself and you know try or place before you screw anything.

Like maybe 3 times you try and then you screw it.

We did the templates 3 times and on the third time we got it right.

Yeah. And that's ok.

And the second tip.

The second tip was about the bracket.

Yeah.

First: the bracket when you screw... when you do the holes on the brackets

I thought on doing like you know like straight on the same measurements.

But the bottom hole makes harder to use the drill machine.

So, try to drill the hole, the bottom hole, a little bit higher, so it makes easier to drill it on place later.

Some of them you needed to screw by hand.

Yeah. Some of them I needed to do by hand because the machine would just wouldn't get on place.

The other thing... no, before that.

I know what you're gonna talk about. But before that. She was gonna skip a small part.

Just to make sure you have the right...

Just to make sure you make the hole and you don't burn the drill...

I know this one.

So, you need to use the lowest speed you have in your machine and you need to use oil to do the holes.

Yes. Actually I used a lot of oil. Like... just to do one hole I would put like 3 times oil.

I don't know if it's too much but it worked.

All the time when the oil started getting low we would hear like #$%&.

Like some weird noises that I think it was not lubricated enough.

So, oil is the key.

Speed and oil.

The lowest speed you can get and a lot of oil and you do like a perfect hole.

Yeah.

Now let's go to the third tip that she was talking about.

So if you do the hole... how can I explain that?

I don't know how to explain that.

Because what we did, you saw on the footage,

we have the beam and the joist and we put the bracket

and then we did like the pre hole before screwing it on place.

And if you just do the pre hole without you know putting weight on the top of the joists,

sometimes the hole is a little bit too high.

And that means that when you screw it might be a gap in between the beam and the joist.

And that makes the whole structure a lot looser and a lot weaker.

Because you're gonna you know rely on the screw instead of on the wood itself.

The tip is: step on it.

Just put your weight on the wood and then you do the whole.

In this way you make sure there is no gap in between both woods.

And I guess the last tip is about how to do the hole.

Because in our case it's better if you on the top of the bracket.

Yeah. The thing is... you know the space on the metal to put the screw is a little bit bigger than the screw itself.

Because I do...

I don't have pressure on the metal I just wanted to have the pressure on the wood.

So it's really hard to you know to screw right exactly on the center of the hole.

So if you... just make sure you don't have a gap I would always put the screw a little bit higher than the center.

in this way when I screw on place it's gonna compress the joist on the beam.

We just know that because we did the opposite.

Yeah. Then the wood went like this.

Yeah. In one of those we put the screw a little bit down and when I screwed it on place it just brought the...

The best way to create storage in an incredibly

Use 1x4s pine wood so you will

have enough space on the shelves and

1/2" iron piping.

Hang the shelves on a simple curtain rod with nooks.

If your bathroom wall happens to be white or gray

then you might want to choose

for a 'weathered' look

by painting a gray undercoat of paint and

coating the edges with paraffin wax.

This new organizer is perfect to store towels,

toilet papers or jars full of shower caddies.

9. Look Beyond Your Space Range.

Organizers don't always have to be on a display.

If you don't want to fill the entire

of your bathroom wall with furniture then

6. Hanging Storage Case

Storage cases are capable to hoard a lot of things.

For this idea, use a clamp to hold everything together

while attaching it with 1.25" pocket hole screws.

Add the top and bottom braces to attach the cabinet

to the wall.

Add ¾" pocket holes to each piece

and fill each pocket with wood filler. Use

a scrapper to flatten it out.

Stain the wood in Dark Walnut or any other color stain.

Attach the cabinet to the wall using a stud finder

to find the studs in the wall and mark on

the frame where the studs will be.

Use wood screws to go through the braces and into the

wall attaching to the stud.

Do a pre-drill before going through the brace pieces

to keep the wood from splitting.

You can also add a mirror door if you prefer!

One has to really rack their brain when thinking

of space-saving storage for a small room.

The back of your closet door should make the

cut when it comes to tiny space storage.

Hang a slim wire basket to store non-heavy stuff

Better to hang one with lots of shelves so

it can store many things.

Instead of having your desk covered in clutter,

keep your narrow items in view

by storing them in a hanging wire rack.

4. Practical Shelves

Floating storage is always a good choice for

small space storage dilemma.

Instead of crowding your bedroom with horizontal

organizers,

build a vertical one with

two planks of wood boards,

make two-tiered shelf with them and Mount

them on the wall with narrow nooks on both sides.

Here, your shelves yield a storage

for lamp, clock, vases or book collection.

3. Or opt for Deep Shelves above the Headboard

If small floating shelves just won't do

for your stuff, then deep shelves above

the bed ought to do it.

Consider removing some

drywall to avoid extending shelves into the room itself

and turn your room into a mess-free haven.

Create recessed spaces between

the studs and you can opt to add doors to enclose them

or install shallow shelf insert.

With only one pallet you can make four shelves

to store your book collection.

Measure the inside of the bottoms of the shelves

so that you can cut 2x4's

to size and screw them in place.

Otherwise, all the books will fall

out the bottom of your nifty new shelf.

Sand them down to get rid of rough edges and corners.

You can scrape the wood with a hammer and

some nails to give some more character to it

Stain them with a brush by running it

over the surface of the shelves one at a time,

then immediately use a rag to rub in the stain.

Starfighter Basics - Beginner's Guide - Star Wars Battlefront 2 - Duration: 10:57.

Galactic Assault and trooper modes got you down? Hop in that cockpit and take to the

skies in Starfighter Assault. It's almost like a completely different game, just don't

get cocky kid!

Intro Today in beginner's guide, we're going

to give a brief overview of what Starfighter assault offers in Star Wars Battlefront 2.

We'll be covering just a brief overview of the game mode, what all the little symbols

on your hud me, as well as how to use them to your advantage, and we'll briefly touch

on target acquisition and where to aim to hit your target. We'll be going a little

more in depth with the ship classes in different videos, giving you different cards to use

and how the abilities work, but right now, just want to give you enough so you can go

shoot down some rebels. Please keep in mind, I am way better at galactic assault and blast

than I am at star fighter, so if you like this kind of content and are an ace in the

cockpit, feel free to send me some footage, and i'll be happy to use it with your permission,

and of course a shout out and link if you have a channel of your own.

play time.

Overview

Like Galactic assault, star fight assault is an objective based game mode, with one

team attacking and one team defending. Also like Galactic assault, most of the time only

½ of the team is actually playing the objective. You will play both sides, light and dark,

before the map switches, unless you joined in late, and the maps cover all three eras

of the movies. You also have the option of first

and 3rd person view, and personally I really enjoy first person view for starfighter, it

makes it feel like you're going extremely fast and you can hear little sounds that you

hear in the movies that you don't get in third person. First person is a lot harder

though since you can't really judge if you cleared debris or objects and may crash a

little bit more, but it's just a game, so do what you have the most fun playing in.

A major thing to remember in this mode is you can crash into debris and objects however,

they removed fighter to fighter collision. So you can not ram the falcon or any other

hero ship to kill them. You can however run into the star destroyer's so don't try

and fly through them.

Hud

Now lets move on to the first topic to go over for starfighter that isn't always as

clear as it is in the other game modes, the HUD. HUD stands for heads up display and is

all the information you see on your screen. We'll start on the outer rims of your screen

and work in, since there can be, depending on your positioning a ton of information coming

at ya. Now I have my kills logs and battle point gains turned off, since i know who i

killed and don't care whos getting kills around me, this makes the screen a little

cleaner, and the battle point gain per kills, where it says how much points you got for

something isn't really all that useful and just extra text, I don't need that flooding

my screen. We're going to go over everything as if you are in 3rd person view, since first

person changes the order it has the information.

On the bottom right, like on the normal modes is your ability icons and cool down timers.

This works the same as in the other game modes and just shows your abilities in white if

ready and red if not. So we're not going to spend a lot of time there, or on the next

thing and thats at the top of your screen, you'll see the objective score. This is

either a percent if trying to destroy a target, or a ticket counter, death counter, if you're

just having to kill players. Just a little hint, if you're on a team that doesn't

have a ticket counter, it doesn't matter how many times you die, since your death wont

decrease your chance of winning at all, so don't be afraid to suicide run if you can

stop the enemy team who is on the ticket counter.

The next thing is unique to star fights, and that's two bars on either side of your screen.

The bar on the left, is your speed. This is controlled by pushing forward or backward

on the throttle stick if on consoles. If it's all white, you are going full speed, if it's

blue, that means your not going full speed and can speed up, and the orange is going

to be where you've accelerated or decelerated to. The faster you go, the slower and wider

your turns are going to be, and the slower you're going the faster they are going to

be.

Now i know a lot of players tend to keep the same speed, either slow or fast when they

first get started, however it's very important to alternate your speed depending on the situation.

This makes it harder for players to target you or match your speed and stay behind you

to line up a shot. Also, if you have someone shooting at you, try to skim an object and

weave around it, once you get on the other side, cut your speed back and they may just

fly right by you (top gun clip) i know it's dumb, but you'd be surprised how many people

put full throttle to not lose you after you cut under neath a star destroyer if you were

going full speed when you made the turn.

The bar on the right hand side is your health. Each class of starfighter has a different

health pool and shield pool. The light blue bar is your shields and the white bar is your

health. The light blue bar will go down first, and then once it's been depleted, your health

will start to go Some also have the ability to use the astromech to heal up some of the

health or shields they have lost, like xwings and ywings. You'll know when the astromech

is healing you, since the bar will turn yellow, or oragnish, but remember you do have to activate

the astro mech, its not automatic.

You will hear a siren start to go off if your health is starting to be depleted, so if you

hear that, make sure you try and shake the enemy thats shooting at you.

The other time you'll hear an alarm go off is when someone is obtaining a missile lock

on you. You'll know its a missile lock since a bright orange circle will show up on your

screen and it'll say missile lock. There is a second circle which is bigger than the

orange one, this is how soon your going to get hit by a missile. If you make quick and

rapid turns, you'll almost never be hit by a missile, or you can use boost to break

it as well. You'll also see an arrow on the inner circle, this is hte side the missile

is currently on. So try turning to the side the missile is on to lose it faster.

Now inside the health and speed bars, if you are in thrid person, outside if you are in

first, is arrows. Arrows come in three 3 different variations. The normal red arrow is the direction

and enemy ship is and is close to you. This is so you don't just fly around in circles

and never see anyone. It's like a GPS system for finding targets. The next kind of arrow

that is really important is the orange arrow. The orange arrow is the last player to track

you as a target or is the player currently trying to shoot you down. When you see this

orange arrow, its best to either try and lose them or turn on them to engage. If you manage

to turn on them and engage successfully, when they are not on your screen, you will see

a red arrow outlined by a white arrow. This arrow is pointing you to the last target you

where, or the system thinks you were, trying to track down. This is so you don't lose

the target you almost had killed when they flew past you.

Finally at the center of your screen is 2 items, your crosshairs, which is where your

going to be shooting and just below that is your heat build up. Each fighter builds heat

differently and even each ship in that fight category builds heat differently. For instance,

an A Wing has much better cooling than a Tie Interceptor. When the heat bar highlights

red it will automatically start cooling and you will be unable to shoot. Unlike the trooper

versions, there is no manual cool or mini game. The only ways for the weapons to cool

are by overheating and forced cooling or just stop firing and wait for it to go down.

Targets

When your engaging the targets, you'll see the enemy team outlined in white diamond shape.

This is where the enemy ship currently is in space. Since in this game mode, players

are constantly moving, and I have yet to find a way to hover, you don't want to shoot

where they currently are but where they are going to be. The game helps out a lot in this

aspect and will give you a little circle ahead of where the ship currently is and in the

direction they are heading. You want to aim at the circle in order to hit the other ship.

If the circle is closer to the current location of the enemy ship, they are going at a slower

rate of speed, and if you are planning on getting behind them, you may want to start

slowing down. If the circle is way in front, they are most likely going full speed. This

again is where changing your speed will help you. If you speed up and slow down, anyone

coming from above, below, or from your flanks will have a harder time staying on the circle

than if you keep the same speed. Depending on the reception of this video,

I plan on going over each ship class and some of the hero ship styles in future videos.

enjoy the star fighter game mode, especially when I just want to play something different

than galactic assault or blast.

Hello.

Well, we didn't finish the wooden deck on our tiny shipping container house yet.

But we're getting really close to it.

Yeah. We have assembled all the joists on place.

And that's what we are gonna talk about today.

So, let's get it started.

I know you must be wondering what we're gonna talk about.

It's just like you know connecting a joist on a beam. That's something really simple, right?

Well, for a professional it's probably really really simple.

For us anything we do we always have questions, we always have doubts.

And we always I don't know it's never that simple as it seems.

Yeah. But, we have learned a lot with all the process.

And that's what we're gonna talk about today.

Yeah. We are gonna show you guys all the decisions we needed to make.

What we decide, how we did it.

And in the end we're gonna give you guys some tips about the whole process and what we learned with it.

Yeah.

So, the first decision and probably like the main big decision was

how to connect the beam to the joist.

And that was the first time that we asked you about it.

Yeah.

So.

Yeah. Actually we've thought about two choices.

First choice would be to basically you know .. I'm gonna draw it. Probably like somewhere around here.

The first choice was to get the beam and the joist and have a screw 45 degrees connecting both parts.

And then we thought about the second choice that would be to have the beam and the joist

and to have a screw straight 90 degrees on the center of the joist.

Most of the people said that the second one would be better. But they came up with another solution.

Yeah. The thing is most of the people said this second choice would be the best one.

But we were still not too sure about it. I mean like...

Because the dimension of the hole would be really big and the wood is not as wide.

So I think the section of the beam will be... I mean too small for the size of the hole.

And maybe it would be weak on the tip.

So, someone gave us a third option.

Yeah. What's the name of the...?

Bracket.

Yeah.

Metal bracket.

On the side.

Yeah.

So, that's the drawing.

So, it's basically like, we would have like a metal bracket in between the joists in the beam.

But we had a problem.

It's hard to find the size that we want in Brazil and if you find it's really expensive.

Yes. So basically... we actually even thought about this before I think but the problem is the price.

I'm I mean like it's impossible. It's like it was just so expensive to buy one, you know big one.

and the cheap one was really small and I don't think it would hold on place.

So we decided to make ourselves the brackets.

And... what happened?

Yeah.

It's like a snowball.

Yeah. It's always like a snow ball. You make a decision and then you need to make another one...

Yeah. Seems like building is just like a bunch of decisions you need to keep making.

Every single day.

And when you make one it becomes necessary to make another one.

it's just decision after decision.

So, we had the choice of buying the metal like in a L shape.

And we needed to do the holes.

And to cut it into pieces.

Slide, splice, sply... Split.

To split in pieces.

Ok.

So basically we bought a big piece of metal on the right shape

and then we just you know did all the holes we needed and then we just split.

For doing the holes we needed to buy another equipment.

Yeah. The problem is like we could do with a regular drill,

but it's really thick, it's like 3 millimetres thick, the metal.

And then it would take forever. And then the regular drill machine is too fast, the rotation.

And we decided that would be much easier if we had a drill press.

So.

Another decision.

So, we had the option of buying a brand new small and not too powerful drill press

or we could get almost the same amount of money and buy a bigger one, stronger one but used.

And we found one.

We found a used one.

We found one.

So, we decided to go... yeah.

So we decide to go with the used one. So we bought a half horsepower drew press.

That's... I always want to have one. And it's really good.

And a brand new one of this one was like four times the price of the one that we bought.

Yeah. We paid like a quarter of the price. So it was a really good choice.

So, I guess we can go...

We already like always... we're just talking too much. I'm sorry.

It's just the way I am. I like to talk and like communicate. You can tell.

She's a little bit shy, she won't talk as much as me, but happens.

So, like always we're gonna show you guys a video clip showing the whole process of what we did.

And the results.

And then we're gonna show the mistakes we made and the tips we can give you.

Yeah. I mean like...

We learned a lot all the way so we're gonna give you guys some tips that I think we wish we had before.

We wish we... that someone gave us the tips before.

Tomorrow hopefully, if the rain stops, we're gonna screw all on place.

So we can start the second part of the roof.

I don't know... like 20 joists to bring up. So... let's keep working.

So, let's get back to work.

Well, now that you have seen what we did it's time to talk about tips.

Let's start with the wood.

Yeah. So when we buy the wood they sell like a regular measurement.

Yeah. We bought already on the size we need, that is 6 by 12 centimetres section by 3 meters long.

So we supposedly had all in the same length.

But...

In reality.

Yeah.

I mean like they're really close to the same length

but one is like 3 meters and the other one is like 3.1 meters and the other one is 2.98.

And these small measurements makes a difference when you put all together.

And they are not 6, they are 5 and half.

Yeah. That's the other thing. Because they call it 6 by 12 but in reality it's 5 and a half by 11 and a half.

Because they plained the wood.

So. First, let's start with the lenght.

We thought all the woods were 3 meters long,

so you know like the end of the the joist would be all straight.

And in reality it wasn't like that.

So, we decided to get the outside and make it straight.

And then we're gonna fix the other side when we do the finishing

because you're gonna have a piece of wood on end.

So we're gonna somehow you know fix this different lengths.

So, the second problem, as she was saying, was the thickness of the wood.

Because I thought it was 6 centimeters.

So we did the math, like we count that the joists of the edges...

Yeah. We fix the last joist.

The one before that one.

Yeah. Actually we did the one before the last, because the beam sometimes is not that straight on the tip.

We decided to do this one before the last the one before the last and we fix that on place.

And then we measured this space in between both joists and divided by the amount of space we had.

So that means...

And then we did a template.

And then we did a template.

Yeah. So we did a template to put in between each.

So we would you know have a joist put a template another joist fix it up another template and keep going.

And we are lucky that we didn't fix it up before.

Yeah, That's a good thing... you always try 3 times on place before you screw it.

The thing is we did the math thinking we had 6 centimeters wood

and in fact we had 5 and a half centimeters wood.

So 15 spaces times half centimeter in the end we had like

I don't know like 10 centimeters.

It was a mistake like this big.

So, tip number 1.

Don't trust the measurements you think you have.

Make sure you measure yourself and you know try or place before you screw anything.

Like maybe 3 times you try and then you screw it.

We did the templates 3 times and on the third time we got it right.

Yeah. And that's ok.

And the second tip.

The second tip was about the bracket.

Yeah.

First: the bracket when you screw... when you do the holes on the brackets

I thought on doing like you know like straight on the same measurements.

But the bottom hole makes harder to use the drill machine.

So, try to drill the hole, the bottom hole, a little bit higher, so it makes easier to drill it on place later.

Some of them you needed to screw by hand.

Yeah. Some of them I needed to do by hand because the machine would just wouldn't get on place.

The other thing... no, before that.

I know what you're gonna talk about. But before that. She was gonna skip a small part.

Just to make sure you have the right...

Just to make sure you make the hole and you don't burn the drill...

I know this one.

So, you need to use the lowest speed you have in your machine and you need to use oil to do the holes.

Yes. Actually I used a lot of oil. Like... just to do one hole I would put like 3 times oil.

I don't know if it's too much but it worked.

All the time when the oil started getting low we would hear like #$%&.

Like some weird noises that I think it was not lubricated enough.

So, oil is the key.

Speed and oil.

The lowest speed you can get and a lot of oil and you do like a perfect hole.

Yeah.

Now let's go to the third tip that she was talking about.

So if you do the hole... how can I explain that?

I don't know how to explain that.

Because what we did, you saw on the footage,

we have the beam and the joist and we put the bracket

and then we did like the pre hole before screwing it on place.

And if you just do the pre hole without you know putting weight on the top of the joists,

sometimes the hole is a little bit too high.

And that means that when you screw it might be a gap in between the beam and the joist.

And that makes the whole structure a lot looser and a lot weaker.

Because you're gonna you know rely on the screw instead of on the wood itself.

The tip is: step on it.

Just put your weight on the wood and then you do the whole.

In this way you make sure there is no gap in between both woods.

And I guess the last tip is about how to do the hole.

Because in our case it's better if you on the top of the bracket.

Yeah. The thing is... you know the space on the metal to put the screw is a little bit bigger than the screw itself.

Because I do...

I don't have pressure on the metal I just wanted to have the pressure on the wood.

So it's really hard to you know to screw right exactly on the center of the hole.

So if you... just make sure you don't have a gap I would always put the screw a little bit higher than the center.

in this way when I screw on place it's gonna compress the joist on the beam.

We just know that because we did the opposite.

Yeah. Then the wood went like this.

Yeah. In one of those we put the screw a little bit down and when I screwed it on place it just brought the...

You know the joist just came up and then there is a gap in between.

And then it's loose. We needed to take it off and fixed the problem. So...

Always step on it and always do the hole a little bit higher than you should and you are good to go.

And I guess those were our tips.

We're just in love with it. I mean like we don't have a wooden deck yet,

But we kind of can feel the difference on the house already, like from the outside.

It's just... I don't know, it's just... It looks good already.

Creepy Things That Happened On The Set Of Serial Killer Movies - Duration: 6:33.

From masked menaces at the center of psychological thrillers to sinister, sociopathic slasher

icons, Hollywood has a weird obsession with serial slaughterers.

Filmmakers just love trying their hand at sculpting the next household name in horror.

But unleashing the monster lurking underneath a character's skin often means making bizarre

and questionable decisions — and not just tapping Vince Vaughn for the Psycho remake.

Let's take a look at some of the creepiest things that went down on the sets of serial

killer movies.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

1974's The Texas Chain Saw Massacre changed the face of both horror and independent film.

Its pseudo-documentarian narration, over-the-top brutality, and completely fabricated "based

on a true story" claim cemented its place in the pantheon of great horror cinema.

One of the film's most intense and nearly unwatchable sequences is the dinner scene.

What makes it so brutal?

Well, during filming, even the actors themselves were beginning to lose touch with reality

— bad news for a movie with a dude swinging around a real-life chainsaw.

The scene took over a day to shoot, the set was unbearably hot, and the actors had to

take Dramamine breaks to get over the smell of rancid meat.

Leatherface even accidentally sliced actress Marilyn Burns' finger open on camera after

a prop busted.

We say "Leatherface" rather than actor Gunnar Hansen because, at this point, the 6'4" man

beneath the mask thought he was actually there to take out Burns.

Yup — the screams, the deranged laughter, and terror of that scene were as close to

real as it gets.

While it might have led to some truly unforgettable cinema, we're pretty sure that the cast and

crew just wanted to have a few cold ones and forget that day ever happened.

Zodiac

David Fincher is a notoriously difficult director to work with.

While filming 2007's critically acclaimed Zodiac, he pushed his actors to new extremes,

averaging a mind-boggling 70 takes per scene.

With all that footage to work with, he then got sadistic delight out of torturing actors

like Jake Gyllenhaal by deleting hours of said takes right in front of him, just to

see if he could make him cry over it.

But Gyllenhaal wasn't the only subject of Fincher's torment.

The director himself reported that Robert Downey Jr. reached such extreme levels of

passive-aggressiveness that he left jars of his own urine around the set in protest.

We're, uhh, not quite sure about the cause/effect logic of that reaction — but one thing's

for sure: We don't want to tick off Robert Downey Jr. enough to find out.

Gross, man.

Halloween

One of the quintessential slasher films, 1978's Halloween is unique in that the villain is

basically a blank slate.

He's not supernatural, he never says a word, and his backstory doesn't reveal much of anything

as far as motivation.

He's just an extremely broken person in a bleached-out William Shatner mask getting

his stab on.

It's part of the horror.

You can't reason with him or out-think him.

You just have to keep running.

Meanwhile, he lumbers just behind with his distinctive gait.

That gait of his arrived purely by chance.

Nick Castle was a friend of director John Carpenter and found himself just sort of hanging

around on set watching his friend work.

When it came time to start filming scenes with the iconic villain, Carpenter told Castle

to slap on the mask and get in there because apparently, he had the perfect walk.

Castle seems to have a pretty good sense of humor about the whole thing, considering his

close friend pretty much told him he walks like a movie monster.

American Psycho

Examining it in context, American Psycho is a very strange product of a very strange time.

Based on Bret Easton Ellis' novel of the same name, and filmed by feminist director Mary

Harron, it pulled genuine humor out of the macabre social commentary of its source material

while retaining a tasteful amount of gore.

But Christian Bale's incredible performance as the charmingly dead-eyed Patrick Bateman

is what really sealed the deal.

A decent portion of the film sees Bateman hiring bored prostitutes, who begrudgingly

render their services before meeting untimely ends.

To prepare for these scenes, Bale and Harron watched a lot of, ahem, "adult entertainment"

together.

That sort of employee-manager relationship should've led to a series of HR complaints.

But on the American Psycho set, it merely added to the absurdity of the final product.

House of Wax

Besides being the film that paid up on its advertised promise that you could "Watch Paris

Diet", House Of Wax is an otherwise forgettable remake of an old Vincent Price horror film.

It's a shame, really, because Elisha Cuthbert really gave that film her all.

In a scene where she is captured and has her mouth glued shut, she had them actually super

glue her lips together.

In other words, that scene where she painfully peels her mouth open?

Also real.

Poor Cuthbert also had trouble with the ending of the film, fighting her way out of the titular

house as it burned down.

The "melted wax" she found herself wading through was actually a pool of peanut butter.

We know what you're thinking — but, no, she wasn't allergic.

She did, however, get stuck in the stuff a whole lot.

Se7en

Let's face it: Alien 3 didn't do much for David Fincher's career.

It wasn't until the premiere of Se7en that moviegoers really started to take him seriously

as a director.

The creepy thriller starred Kevin Spacey as a methodical and meticulous serial killer

arranging crime scenes in accordance with the seven deadly sins.

And trust us: It's not a film you want to jump into after a large spaghetti dinner — or

after an unexpected delivery.

"Ahh, what's in the box!?"

"Not until you give me the gun."

"What's in the f------ box!?"

While Se7en is known for its grisly crime scenes, it's also recognized for its production

mishaps.

While filming a chase scene, Brad Pitt slipped on the hood of a car and smashed his arm through

its windshield.

Rather than call it a day, Fincher wrote the injury into the movie, and Pitt wore his actual

cast throughout the filming, keeping it off-screen in scenes that precede the injury.

And then there's actor Gene Borkan, who played the corpse "Greed."

Apparently, Borkan didn't realize he would have to be naked in his scene.

Right there, on set, he renegotiated his pay and still convinced them to at least let him

wear underwear.

Heidi Schanz, who played "Pride," found herself pretty amused by how much Fincher seemed to

enjoy dousing her with fake blood.

She remarked as much, and Fincher, deadpan, replied, "I have demons you can't even imagine."

Damn, Fincher.

You're kinda creepy.
