Youtube daily report w Mar 6 2018

You would not believe how many times

I've chewed the threading on my shock mount and boompole trying to screw it in on set. well, I found a solution. It's this.

It's called a quick change coupler, and it's gonna make everything a lot easier

Welcome to the film look.

This episode is brought to you by premiumbeat.com. find exclusive production music for your next film

I'm a DIY sound recordist and because of this no knowledge has been passed down generation after generation

If this was the case, I imagine I'd discover one of these many years ago. This is the Triad orbit

I-O-R quick change coupler. Let me show you how it works

I use a rode micro boom pole and a rode blimp. the problem

I have with this equipment is the fact that the threads are made out of two different types of metal so one contact is naturally

softer than the other

Making it prone to chewing up and destroying the screw unless you're super slow and careful putting it together

So instead of risking damage to your equipment

every time you want to attach a shock mount you can use a coupler. you simply screw each part of the boom Pole on the

Shock mount and when you want to attach it you pull a release back slot it into place. Let go and a grips it tight

It's essentially the same thing as a quick release plate on a tripod and camera

You can buy quick change couplers with a bunch of different sized heads and mounts. they even do a light stand version which is really

handy And they also sell multi packs in case you wanted to kit out all of your audio equipment for fast and easy use. this might

Not be a groundbreaking discovery for some, but I had no idea this even existed

It's going to save a lot of time

Tediously trying to screw the shock mount into the boom without breaking it

And it will save a lot of money that I was dumping in the replacement parts

Nextbase 612GW dash cam - pushing gradually beyond Full HD - MEGAPIXEL - Duration: 2:54.

The 612GW is the new flagship dash cam from Nextbase.

Resolutions have been creeping up for the past few years, pushing gradually beyond Full

HD.

The Yi Ultra Dash Camera offered 2.7K, but none had broached the heady heights of 4K

– until now.

The Nextbase 612GW is the first dash cam to arrive at Trusted Reviews offering such a

resolution, promising the most detail yet for personal driving surveillance.

The Nextbase 612GW is based around a fairly high-end Sony Exmor R CMOS with 8.57 megapixels.

Nextbase doesn't state the size of this sensor, but other devices using Sony chips

with this specification – such as the FDR-AX53 camcorder – quote a 1/2.5-inch unit, which

is reasonably large for a dash cam.

Whether my guess of the CMOS size is correct or not, it has enough pixels for the top recording

resolution of 3840 x 2160.

This is captured at 30 frames per second and a healthy data rate of 46Mbits/sec.

You can also capture at 1440p or 1080p and 30 or 60fps to conserve space, although there's

no sense in paying extra for a 4K dash cam and then not using the feature.

Normally, you could get away with an 8GB card in a dash cam thanks to looped recording.

But this capacity is only sufficient for 23 minutes of 4K footage from the 612GW.

So a 32GB or 64GB module would be more appropriate.

It's also worth mentioning here that recording 4K requires a microSD card beyond the bog-standard

speed.

You need a Class 10 U3 card, which means writing speeds of at least 30MB/sec.

In other words, media costs will be a little beyond the usual dash cam levels.

The mounting provisions are fairly typical, but with a few quality touches.

There's a suction windscreen attachment that includes a slide-in quick release for

the dash cam.

This incorporates electrical contacts, so the power cable can be plugged into the mount;

you don't have to attach it to the dash cam separately.

You can then leave the power cable connected permanently.

For an even more permanent installation, Nextbase also includes an alternative mount using 3M

adhesive tape; there's a spare patch of this included in the box, too.

However, the power cable itself ends in a captured cigarette lighter adapter, so as

is usual with dash cams, using the 612GW alongside a satnav requiring the same power connection

will be problematic.

IL TRAPPER E LA LINCE - Storie dall'Artico EP07 - Duration: 4:35.

Porcupine River, Alaska. I'm going with Snook in the forest

to check out his traps.

we have postponed several times because of the

anomalous wind of the last days. Here they say that this wind only comes in

carnival, for the breakup in spring and when someone dies.

But in the last eight years this has been changing.

For days I had been looking for Snook

a native from Fort Yukon who lives mostly on hunting and fur trade.

In 2014 at the end of my expedition on the Yukon river, I left hime my canoe Rossana

Is my canoe doing well?

Did you use it in the summer?

Yes, always, hunting.

Did you dry this meat?

Yes, try it with butter.

What is it? Moose or Caribou?

Caribou.

We've hunted like 5 or 6.

We could have killed lots, but you can't haulage'em so...you know

It's good enough.

They swim well!

They swim in the high waves. They run accross.

You doing something with the muskrat?

Yes, you eat'em. I sell the fur too.

Snook has decided we are not going out today too much wind!

A few days later the wind has died off and the temperature dropped to -30 ° C

and I came back from Snook who hopes to have trapped some lynx.

That trap been out there for how long now? Two weeks?

Not that long ... I set them before the wind.

Ah, this is because the shoes are not waterproof, right?

When you running on the snowmachine the heat of the engine melts the snow and makes them wet!

Far from everything and everyone, hunting it is not a sport but an

important activity for survival that follows hard rules dictated

by nature itself.

While understanding this I hope that the link has not been caught, above all

because being in two Snook could ask me for help to kill it.

Nothing in the trap?

There was nothing in the first trap now let's check on the second one.

Where's the trap?

Right there.

This is a snare, a metal wire

in which the animal chokes as soon as it pulls it.

There is a prey under the snow that attracts the animal.

The lynx is not there today I'm glad happy, because I'll see it in the picture

so no dead lynx today.

Snook obviously is not happy that

all his traps are empty. He lives above all of what he captures

He uses and sells fur, dries and stores meat, relying his life mainly to the

wilderness and his own skills.

No animals in the traps. Too much snow?

Much snow ...

I suddenly feel blue

In this extreme environment where the least error can kill you and where hunting/trapping

is still the best choice to get fresh food, I should

feel bad for the trapper's failure today.

This is a very old race

for millennia between the animal's survival instinct

and the ancestral knowledge of the native.

You can not understand the wilderness

by comparing it to what exists in our society

Because this is the world as it was created and this is not a story from where I belong.

This is an Arctic story.

Ginevra 2018, nuova Audi A6: berlina di classe con ruote posteriori sterzanti [ENGLISH SUB] - Duration: 4:08.

Here's one of the biggest news of Geneva 2018, the new Audi A6, it's all new and it's now 4.94 m long, 1.88 m wide and 1.46 m tall, with a wheelbase of 2.92 m

there are new LED lights, with a new shape and interior design, there are fake air intakes and I really like the 21 inch rims with 6 piston brake calipers

The design is now more similar to the one of the A8, at the rear there are new Stop lights, linked to each other by a chrome finish

on the bottom there are fake mufflers, since the real one is hidden underneath

Underneath the bottom there can be a V petrol engine with 340 Hp and 500 Nm, then a V6 diesel with 286 HP and 620 Nm, with AWD

On top of that, there are rear steering wheels, which can tilt up to 5°, increasing the stability and the steering angle and the agility

inside Audi has done an amazing job with 3 digital displays, digital cockpit, upper infotainment display, while on the bottom display you can set up the AC and the seats set up. There's also the head-up display

Another big news is the Connect Key, you can open the car through your smartphone and pair the key code on 5 phones

This car will be available from June, later on there will be the Station Wagon, S6 and RS6

thats' it for now, see you soon!

Rep. Trey Gowdy just rang the alarm: it may be time for a new special counsel.

That is, we need a special counsel to look into exactly what Special Counsel Robert Mueller

is doing in his drawn-out Trump-Russia investigation.

In an interview with Maria Bartiromo of Fox News, Gowdy said that "we're trending

perhaps towards another special counsel" in regards to the recent outing of Democrat

chicanery with the infamous Trump dossier.

You hear that?

Gowdy wants someone to watch the watchers – namely, the FBI and its questionable handling

of the Trump dossier.

Here are more of Gowdy's comments, via the Daily Caller:

"You know, Maria, this Democrat memo makes me smile.

If it were up to Adam Schiff, if it were up to him it would have been a haiku, and not

a memo because he did everything he could to keep us from finding out any of the information

that was in either one of those memos.

So Congress has proven itself incapable of investigating this FISA abuse.

DOJ should not be looking into it.

We need an independent arbiter that's either the inspector general or special counsel."

I couldn't agree with Gowdy more.

The revelations contained in the Nunes memo from last month demonstrated unprecedented

bias within the FBI and possible abuse via the secretive FISA court in order to obtain

a warrant to spy on the Trump campaign.

We also know that former FBI Director James Comey was caught leaking information to the

press about the ongoing Trump investigation, all done in order to spark a special counsel.

There are too many coincidences involved in the whole Trump dossier saga to chalk the

whole thing up to the FBI just diligently doing its job.

We need answers.

Trey Gowdy desperately wants to get to the bottom of this.

what do you think about this?

Amazon Associate NICHE SITE (example case study) Rounding Sound - Duration: 22:25.

and this teardown we're looking at the rounding sound and I talk about what I

like what I don't like

and it turns out this site looks pretty darn good there's a couple tweaks I

would make and we actually look at some rush again to get a pretty good handle

on the amount of traffic this site is probably getting by the way if you're

new to the channel have a look around and if you like what you see please

consider subscribing let's get to the teardown we're looking at the rail ding

sound and it's a decent looking site it does look fairly well put together

before we get into the critique of the site let's look at some rush we're gonna

get an estimate of the traffic on some rush so we see four point seven thousand

right so almost five thousand per month is the estimate and that tells me it's

probably getting you know anywhere from double to three times that somewhere in

there a lot of times this organic search estimate is a little bit low because a

site will often attract a lot more long-tailed traffic so we can see the

chart here and it looks like the traffic has had some pretty big spikes it looks

like about a year ago it was a lot more popular and then it's dropped down so

I'm not sure what the deal is with that but you know nevertheless if the site's

getting like 10,000 to 15,000 visitors per month it's probably making some

decent money now as we scroll down one of the huge advantages to using some

rush is the top organic keywords we're just gonna look at the organic keywords

section here it's just under 9,000 keywords that it's ranking for and we

could see a lot of them are probably really good long tail type traffic so

noise cancelling headphones under a certain amount earbuds under a certain

amount and that sort of thing if you want to check out some rush you can get

I think it's a 7 day trial I do have an affiliate link in the

description so if you buy through my link I get a small commission and I

appreciate it help support the channel and it's a good tool so check it out you

could really get a ton of information in fact one of the most valuable things you

can get from SEMRush is just export all of these key

from like various cook competitor sites so without further ado let's look at the

rounding sim now we see you know it's a pretty clean looking design here I'm not

sure what's name it is and frankly it doesn't really matter what the theme it

is we have a pretty simple logo at the top there's no fancy actual logo is just

text right so that's good I like the simplicity of that by the way as we're

going through this critique let me know in the comments what you like and don't

like so just as we're watching feel free to hop down and leave a comment before

you forget there's a couple menu items up here it looks like these are specific

guides and these are just regular menus for category section as we scroll down

just a tad we have what looks to be just recent blog posts in the main section of

the content here the sidebar has a nice tagline here

Abhishek this person site which is great and then a search bar is long along with

the recent posts as we scroll down it looks like this is a share sale banner

right here and this headphone of the month is an Amazon affiliate link so by

Amazon you can see that's listed here now could be if this isn't a specific

banner from Amazon this they could be in a little bit of a Terms of Service issue

because they're listing the price in a specific percentage discount and that

could be a problem if this banner isn't directly from Amazon and I don't think

it is and here's why the font appear color the font color headphone of the

month is actually in the same color as the overall or pretty close to the the

theme color so that tells me that it's a custom graphic the the owner of the site

put together whereas this amazon.com deals well that looks a lot more like

Amazon right here so this looks like an Amazon sort of ad

same with this 30 day music deal so as we scroll down we see some native ads

here and that's like a sticky widget on that side so one thing that's notable I

see there's a little bit more navigation we have a privacy page we have the

contact we have a site map there's actually no about page so I looked

around a little bit there's no about page on this site which is a little bit

weird there is a contact us and I think technically that's probably all you need

but it doesn't have as much you know personal touch now Abhishek does have

his picture here and a little quote so that's good but I would like to see in a

doubt page just kind of a normal thing to have on a website it's pretty normal

like even if the about page is bad there's usually an about page and we'll

look it Abhishek's tagline here life is just too short to listen to music via

bad headphones so it's a defined quote and everything but I don't know it's a

little wordy to me and I mean literally these Tuesday tear downs are me

critiquing and criticizing other people so so why not dig into this but it's

just a little wordy I mean in normal conversation people usually don't say

via when they're talking about headphones so I mean you could probably

clean it up and make it just sound like more real like he's talking to his

friends like life's too short don't use bad headphones something like that but

at least it's some kind of quote and there's a picture there so that is good

now as we are looking at the homepage I would maybe cut down on like the number

of posts on the front page and maybe make the guides more prominent so if you

look at other like sort of larger sites like I've done tear downs on outdoor

gear lab and maybe baby gear lab I would take a look at those and maybe

sort of put the guides in the front so he has guides here let's just take a

look and see what kind of guides there are so this would be archived so 10 best

guitar amps earbuds headphones for watching movies so maybe pick like one

of the more important guides and place those in the front maybe with a custom

banner that you put together or something like that so that I think

there's some opportunity to improve the homepage just so it looks a little bit

more like a homepage and less like a this looks like someone's blog where

they just have the most recent posts posted but it doesn't really matter when

these are posted is sort of like time irrelevant right it doesn't matter when

these are posted so next let's look at a specific review 11 best portable

Bluetooth speakers under 100 so probably a pretty good you know longtail keyword

here I really like the half width image along with you know the copy coming up

right away with short sentences so this is what I talk about all the time this

is what I like to see and it sort of follows the perfect Amazon format pretty

well now the one thing I would do there's no affiliate link in this first

section here so like above the folders no affiliate link and I think it may be

good to have an affiliate link above the fold so as we scroll down we don't see

an affiliate link yeah oh wait maybe maybe there are this is an affiliate

link right here however I'm not even really sure what that ghosted you need

to charge them so maybe this is a link to a charger so I think this is not an

affiliate link top 10 Bluetooth speakers under 100 so when I click on that I

don't know that actually doesn't go anywhere so this is an affiliate link

that's alright the image is an affiliate link

okay there's a few affiliate links and another good thing this right you're

good audio quality this is a link to another Authority type site as well as I

think there was another one up here Bluetooth technology out to Wikipedia so

that's good it's good to have like links out to authorities sites so that's good

you don't have to worry about like linking out too often or anything like

that as long as you're linking where it could be helpful and that is the case

here good audio quality it's a PC Magazine link right here as we're

scrolling down I see I mean I think this is really well put together as far as

you know white space right there's not too much like a wall of text or anything

like that there's an image there are short paragraphs which is good I think

if there was an opportunity to potentially have like bullet points that

could be good I think there are indeed technical specs that the person could

cover here and that would be a nice way to add some bullet points and cover the

technical specs here is a video and I'm not sure this is a YouTube it is in fact

a YouTube video here so that's good I like to include YouTube videos and

there's this little green call-out section and another link a button over

to Amazon so I think this is pretty good I mean overall the way it's put together

for the mini review is good I think it's a little bit on the short side you could

probably make it a lot longer however eleven different products are

covered here so at that point you know maybe go back and add to it so this is

sufficient I think for one product in the beginning and then later if you want

to add more you could and again really good job like breaking up the texts

there's like different call out sections here's a red box here and here is a

green box so then there's a little horizontal rule rule right here where it

separates one product from the next so as we scroll down I think we're going to

see a lot of the same sort of format with the you know pretty large image

small paragraphs different cough sections in the green box along with the

button to Amazon so over and over and over another you know nine times there's

some videos placed in here for certain products but not all so this is great

overall I think the critique that I would give is to you know add simple

points right bullet points or numbered lists or whatever but some sort of

section so it could place some of the technical specs for each of the products

of which you know there must be plenty of technical specs for each of these

even if it was just like dimension weight and like the wattage or something

like that and after that I mean I think you could just add more and more content

I mean I think it would be pretty straightforward to add several hundred

words for each of the many reviews for each of these products and you could

without you know breaking a sweat you could probably come up with you know

several thousand additional words so let's get all the way to the bottom I

know there's a lot of products here no need to go through them all okay so they

have the number one position is locked click on any button to share the article

to see who holds the number one position okay this is one of those social social

Locker things which yeah I mean they were popular some time ago but I haven't

seen them as often recently and I think it's kind of I don't know I wouldn't

have to test this back and forth but to me is kind of a waste just give you know

what's your goal here do you want to try and get people to share this piece of

content or do you want to get them over to Amazon so maybe it's ranking better

because he's able to get more shares I don't know so maybe he is testing it

but it's interesting because I haven't seen these social share lockers around

in a while now here is the flaw

all right well number one it looks like I could just click on I mean I could

click on this this is the product right so like there he's covering up the name

but I could still go and click on it like it's here so we could get to it so

it's not really hiding it or anything but here's the big flaw with this he put

the number one the one that he was recommending at the very bottom this is

a long article the number of people the percentage of people that actually read

the whole thing and get to the bottom it's probably a very very small

percentage that's just the way things work so if you really wanted people to

read it and maybe put in a different order something like that I put the one

you want people to go for at the top it's it's I don't know I don't think

people were going to scroll all the way down here very few will there's just so

many of these type of products like these many these many speakers and there

is a commodity so I don't think it's gonna be a real it's not going to be

really interesting to scroll all the way down and read about all these products

they're all about the same as far as I know I mean I don't have I don't have

one of these all right and as we scroll down they have a conclusion which is

pretty good then we see more native shot yeah more native ads here from Amazon

related post and then about the author okay oh and here's a little bit more

information about the author here overall not bad I mean I think this is

well done a couple tweaks here there but overall I mean I think the way these

reviews are put together is very good now we'll have a look at one of the

guides here so different types of headphones explained and precise detail

this is a weird it's a weird headline I think so I think there's a better way to

say it you know when you're coming up with headlines you know you probably

want to have a key word in there so perhaps that is the longtail keyword but

again very few people say explained in precise detail I think it would be you

know just gonna throw stuff out different types of headphones explains

in layman's terms explains in

yeah it's hard to come up with stuff on the fly different types of headphones

and plain English what are the different types of headphones in detail step

something like that but I just this sounds clunky and awkward so and I

think you know honestly I didn't come up with anything great just now but you

know you get a brainstorm sometimes and there's no harm in you know changing

these in the future to see if it'll improve you know the rankings or just

you know the readability overall of the title so again we have what seems to be

a great format short sentences to start the copy half with image over here so

literally it's exactly what I talked about in the perfect game is on view and

they kind of draw you in as we scroll down demystifying the truth

about different types of headphones the truth is no headphone is best so again

it's great to have these different like sort of call-outs images along with the

short paragraphs and short sentences too so as we scroll down we see this is a

pretty long article here so I could be useful to have you know couple like

links like links to other parts of the article to jump down to earbuds or

different types of like in your headphones I don't even know what all is

covered here but the point is it may be good to have a little table of contents

and you know allow people to get cut to the sections a little faster if they

know that they're interested in like on your headphones now the caveat is of

course a person that is reading an article about the different types of

headphones they probably in fact want to know about all the different types of

headphones so baby reading from top to bottom is the

right thing to do the color scheme may be a tad off so we see the green color

for the theme here but then the green for this pros and cons section here is

off so it would mean it's a minor thing but if someone's taking the time to put

in these you know rich formatting of the boxes and all that stuff you may as well

make sure your colors match I've seen people use these you know boxes for pros

and cons a lot of times with like thrive

architect it does look nice and I even commented how the formatting is nice

overall on the site but it's not necessary right it's nice to have but

it's not critical it's not required at all so when you do hear people recommend

you know thrive or other themes so that you will have these sort of rich

formatting capabilities and stuff it's not necessary right you don't have to

have it you could present these with just bulleted lists and you don't need

the little checkmark in the little you know triangle with a exclamation point

here it's just not necessary it is nice-looking so as we scroll down

there are you know links to the specific types of products over the your

headphones you know this image is actually a actually I'm not sure what

that goes to that this link just goes to the home page so that's not particularly

useful I'll double check just to make sure yeah so it just goes to the home

page so that's some sort of a mistake this goes to Amazon this audio-technica

and the Sennheiser goes day Amazon so as the different types of your phones are

covered there's opportunities to click over to Amazon and see those specific

products

this is another affiliate link here require an amplifier it may be helpful

right to give more explanation about like what this link goes to because I

assume it's an amplifier but like why do I care to go to check out that amplifier

it doesn't it doesn't really tell me what I'm gonna look at I don't know what

mato I'm gonna look at it does give me to click it and to see what's going on

on-like amazon but you know overall it's not it's not helpful I guess I'm not ink

I'm not eager to click it because I don't know what it takes me to and as we

scroll down there's just a lot of content there's some YouTube videos

which is very good and I think this is a great piece of content right here

because it's thorough it's long it covers a lot of stuff there's tons of

images there are lots of outbound links here there's like a house stuff works

link so this is this is a great piece of content I think and I only read just a

tiny bit here let's have a quick look it's five thousand one hundred and fifty

five words roughly and I'm using a tool here called SEO quake it's a free plugin

so you can check that out and I'm just going to try and get to the end here

since it's becoming a little bit too long so they have native ads again at

the bottom after the conclusion nothing really interesting in the conclusion and

related post and okay so it's kind of the same ending as before you have the

conclusion the native ads from Amazon related posts and the about the author

section here so overall not bad and again it's a long-form piece of content

with lots of information and that's a good thing what did you like about this

site let me know in the comments and if you have any critiques let me know in

the comments as well I'm Doug Huntington we'll see you next time on Tuesday tear

nails

The surprising ingredient that makes businesses work better | Marco Alverà - Duration: 14:08.

For me, it was not being invited to a friend's wedding.

At first, I didn't really mind.

I thought he was having a small reception.

But then I kept meeting people who were going to the same wedding,

and they weren't as close to the groom as I was ...

and I felt left out.

That really sucked.

It felt really unfair.

For my daughters, Lipsi and Greta, it was last week.

They were taking turns massaging their mom's back

with a toy for back rubs,

and then one of the girls felt that the other girl had a longer go.

That's when I walk into the room

to find Greta in a rage, shouting, "That's not fair!"

and Lipsi in tears,

and my wife holding a stopwatch

to make sure that each girl had precisely one minute on the toy.

So if you're anything like me or my girls,

the last thing that upset you

probably also had to do with unfairness.

That's because unfairness triggers us so strongly

that we can't think straight.

We become afraid and suspicious.

Our unfairness antennae stick up.

We feel pain, and we walk away.

Unfairness is one of the defining issues of our society,

it's one of the root causes of polarization,

and it's bad news for business.

At work, unfairness makes people defensive and disengaged.

A study shows that 70 percent of workers in the US are disengaged,

and this is costing the companies

550 billion dollars a year every year.

This is, like, half the total spent on education in the US.

This is the size of the GDP of a country like Austria.

So removing unfairness and promoting fairness

should be our priority.

But what does it mean in practice?

Is it about more rules? Is it about systems?

Is it about equality?

Well, partly, but fairness is more interesting than rules and equality.

Fairness works in surprising ways.

15 years ago, I left a US investment bank

to join a large Italian state-owned oil company.

It was a different world.

I thought the key to getting the best performance

was a risk-reward system

where you could give the high performers bonuses and promotions

and give the underperformers something to worry about.

But in this company, we had fixed salaries

and lifelong jobs.

Careers were set,

so my toolkit wasn't very effective,

and I was frustrated.

But then I saw that this company was producing some pockets of excellence,

areas in which they beat the competition

in very tough, competitive sectors.

This was true in trading,

in project management --

it was very true in exploration.

Our exploration team was finding more oil and gas

than any other company in the world.

It was a phenomenon.

Everyone was trying to figure out how this was possible.

I thought it was luck,

but after each new discovery, that became less and less likely.

So did we have a special tool? No.

Did we have a killer application that no one else had? No.

Was it one genius who was finding oil for the whole team?

No, we hadn't hired a senior guy in years.

So what was our secret sauce?

I started looking at them really carefully.

I looked at my friend,

who drilled seven dry wells,

writing off more than a billion dollars for the company,

and found oil on the eighth.

I was nervous for him ...

but he was so relaxed.

I mean, these guys knew what they were doing.

And then it hit me: it was about fairness.

These guys were working in a company

where they didn't need to worry about short-term results.

They weren't going to be penalized for bad luck or for an honest mistake.

They knew they were valued for what they were trying to do,

not the outcome.

They were valued as human beings. They were part of a community.

Whatever happened, the company would stand by them.

And for me, this is the definition of fairness.

It's when you can lower those unfairness antennae, put them at rest.

Then great things follow.

These guys could be true to their purpose, which was finding oil and gas.

They didn't have to worry about company politics or greed or fear.

They could be good risk-takers,

because they weren't too defensive

and they weren't gambling to take huge rewards.

And they were excellent team workers.

They could trust their colleagues.

They didn't need to look behind their backs.

And they were basically having fun.

They were having so much fun,

one guy even confessed

that he was having more fun at the company Christmas dinner

than at his own Christmas dinner.

(Laughter)

But these guys, essentially, were working in a fair system

where they could do what they felt was right

instead of what's selfish, what's quick, what's convenient,

and to be able to do what we feel is right

is a key ingredient for fairness, but it is also a great motivator.

And it wasn't just explorers who were doing the right thing.

There was an HR director who proposed that I hire someone internally

and give him a managerial job.

This guy was very good, but he didn't finish high school,

so formally, he had no qualifications.

But he was so good, it made sense, and so we gave him the job.

Or the other guy, who asked me for a budget to build a cheese factory

next to our plant in Ecuador, in the village.

It didn't make any sense: no one ever built a cheese factory.

But this is what the village wanted, because the milk they had would spoil

before they could sell it, so that's what they needed.

And so we built it.

So in these examples and many others,

I learned that to be fair,

my colleagues and I, we needed to take a risk and stick our head out,

but in a fair system, you can do that.

You can dare to be fair.

So I realized that these guys and other colleagues

were achieving great results, doing great things,

in a way that no bonus could buy.

So I was fascinated.

I wanted to learn how this thing really worked,

and I wanted to learn it also for myself, to become a better leader.

So I started talking to colleagues, to coaches,

to headhunters and neuroscientists,

and what I discovered

is that what these guys were up to and the way they worked

is really supported by recent brain science.

And I've also discovered that this can work at all levels

in any type of company.

You don't need the fixed salaries or the stable careers.

This is because science shows

that humans have an innate sense of fairness.

We know what is right and what is wrong

before we can talk or think about it.

My favorite experiment

has six-month old babies

watching a ball trying to struggle up a hill.

And there's a helpful, friendly square that pushes the ball up the hill,

and then a mean triangle pushes the ball back down.

After watching this several times,

they ask the babies to pick,

to choose what to play with.

They can pick a ball, a square or a triangle.

They never pick up the triangle.

All the babies want to be the square.

And science also shows

that when we see or perceive fairness,

our brain releases a substance that gives us pleasure,

proper joy.

But when we perceive unfairness, we feel pain ...

even greater pain

than the same type of pain as if I really hurt myself.

That's because unfairness triggers the primitive, reptile part of our brain,

the part that deals with threats and survival,

and when unfairness triggers a threat, that's all we can think about.

Motivation, creativity, teamwork,

they all go way back.

And it makes sense that we're wired this way,

because we're social animals.

We need to be part of a community to survive.

We're born so helpless

that someone needs to look after us until we're maybe 10 years old,

so our brain evolves towards food.

We need to be in that community.

So whether I like it or not,

not being invited to the friend's wedding,

my lizard brain is generating the same response

as if I'm about to be pushed out from my community.

So science explains quite nicely why fairness is good

and why unfairness makes us really defensive,

but science also shows that in a fair environment,

not only do we all want to be the square,

but we tend to be the square,

and this allows other people to be fair in turn.

This creates a beautiful fairness circle.

But while we start off fair ...

one drop of unfairness contaminates the whole pool,

and unfortunately, there's plenty of drops in that pool.

So our effort should be to filter out

as much unfairness as we can from everywhere,

starting from our communities, starting from our companies.

I worry about this a lot because I lead a team of 3,000 excellent people,

and the difference between 3,000 happy, motivated team workers

and 3,000 clock-watchers is everything.

So the first thing I try to do in my fairness crusade

is to try to take myself out of the equation.

That means being aware of my own biases.

For example, I really like people who say yes

to whatever I suggest.

(Laughter)

But that's not very good for the company

and not very good for anyone who has different ideas.

So we try to actively promote a culture of diversity of opinions

and diversity of character.

The second thing we do is a little more procedural.

We look at all the rules, the processes, the systems in the company,

the ones we use to take decisions and allocate resources,

and we try to get rid of anything that's not very clear,

not very rational, doesn't make sense,

and we also try to fix anything that's limiting

the transfer of information within the company.

We then look at the culture and the motivation for the same reasons.

But my point is that however hard you look at the rules,

the processes, the systems -- and we have to do that --

but however hard we look,

we're never going to do enough to get to the real essence of fairness.

That's because the last mile of fairness requires something else.

It's about what people's emotions are,

what their needs are,

what's going on in their private lives,

what society needs.

These are all questions and elements

that are very hard to put into a spreadsheet, into an algorithm.

It's very hard to make them part of our rational decision.

But if we miss these, we're missing key important points,

and the outcome is likely to feel unfair.

So we should cross-check our decisions with our fairness center switched on.

Is it right that this guy should get the job he's really hoping to get?

Is it right that this guy should be fired?

Is it right that we should be charging so much for this product?

These are tough questions.

But if we take the time to ask ourselves

whether the rational answer is the right one ...

we all know deep inside what the answer is.

We've known since we were babies.

And to know what the right answer is

is pretty cool for decision-making.

And if we turn on our hearts,

that's the key to getting the real best out of people,

because they can smell it if you care,

and only when you really care will they leave their fears behind

and bring their true selves to work.

So if fairness is a keystone of life,

why isn't every leader making it their priority?

Wouldn't it be cool to work in a company that was more fair?

Wouldn't it be great to have colleagues and bosses

that were selected and trained for fairness and for character

and not based on 60-year-old GMATs?

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to knock on the door

of a Chief Fairness Officer?

We'll get there, but why is it not happening now?

Well, partly, it's because of inertia,

partly, it's because fairness isn't always easy.

It requires judgment and risk.

Drilling that eighth well was a risk.

Promoting the guy who didn't finish high school was a risk.

Building a cheese factory in Ecuador was a risk.

But fairness is a risk worth taking,

so we should be asking ourselves,

where can we take this risk?

Where can we push ourselves a little bit further,

to go beyond what's rational and do what's right?

Thank you.

(Applause)

Abandoned Drawbridge Being Removed - Duration: 6:39.

Hello ladies and gentlemen, RailROL82 here

In Boot Key, FL

I'm going to tell you guys a sad story today about the Boot Key drawbridge

And how it was removed in 2009

so I'm here on location in Marathon, FL

I'm going to include a Google Maps link to this location

And you guys can Google it if you want

This is what used to be the Boot Key Harbor Drawbridge

And this here used to be the

red light that warned drivers of an impending drawbridge.

This is Eagle Signal Corporation

in Davenport, Iowa

So this is facing South right

and what happened was

in 2009

this bridge

suffered some sort of malfunction

the power cable to it, look at the

the power source

The bridge was made in 1960 so yeah

So I digress sorry

In 2009, it suffered a malfunction

and then

the city

nor the county, nor the state

wanted to pick up the tab

for the repair

They just let it go to waste

they just let it rot away.

Boot Key Harbor there

the crossing gate

Never seen one with an E bell on it before.

Take a walk to the bridge tender's house.

WOW!

Look at the panel inside the door

Show you, oh look at this!

Look at the sprockets and gears here

crazy

About 20 something feet up in the air

Amazing that wall clock is still there.

See that thing that says "horn" on the wall. I don't know if you can see it?

Look at that

We got a sailboat coming through.

Amazing.

I can't believe they just let this go to waste like that.

*Gusts of strong wind*

Amazing, truly breathless!

Alright you guys, thank you for coming along with me on this tour.

CNN Host To Former Trump Aide Sam Nunberg: I Smell Alcohol On Your Breath - Duration: 4:03.

Prior to Monday, most people in this country had never really heard of Sam Nunberg, but

he was a former campaign aide to Donald Trump during the presidential campaign and for several

years prior to that, he was actually a political advisor to Donald Trump before he even got

involved in American politics.

He was discharged from the Donald Trump campaign early on after it was revealed that he wrote

some racially-charged Facebook posts.

Nonetheless, Sam Nunberg was back in the news on Monday because he was all over the news

on Monday giving interviews, contradicting himself every time about whether or not he

was going to comply with a subpoena he received from the special prosecutor's office.

Towards the end of the day, I believe he did a grand total of about six different interviews

throughout the media throughout the day, during the end, towards the end I should say, he

went on CNN with Erin Burnett and Erin just had to ask him why his behavior was so erratic

and why people were suggesting that possibly he was drunk.

This is what happened during that particular exchange.

Okay, so let's see them.

Sam, I have to ask you one other thing.

Yes ma'am.

It's an awkward question to ask, but you know, I've interviewed you before, you're sitting

very close to me.

Yes.

We talked earlier about what people in the White House were saying about you.

Talking about whether you were drinking or on drugs or whatever had happened today.

Talking to you, I have smelled alcohol [inaudible 00:01:34] breath.

Well, I have not had a drink.

You haven't had a drink?

That's not true?

No, no.

I just, because it is the talk out there, again, I know it's awkward.

Let me just give you the questions and you can categorically answer them.

Oh, I am aware.

[crosstalk 00:01:46]

Have you had a drink today?

My answer is no.

I have not.

Anything else?

No.

No?

No, besides my meds.

Okay.

Anti-depressants, is that okay?

No, I mean, I'm just trying to understand what happened today.

Well look, they can say whatever they want.

I don't really care.

Once again, they're pathetic.

Their president has a 33% approval rating.

What was the rating number you guys released?

I don't know the exact number.

It was in the 30s.

It was in the 30s.

Whatever they want to say about me, that's fine.

You know, I can't say for sure if Nunberg was drunk or if he wasn't or if he had been

drinking at all, or if it was the side effect of his medications, but we do know one thing

about what happened yesterday.

He said on live TV at one point, that he would just rip up the subpoena he was given by Robert

Mueller, and by the end of the day he was saying, "You know what?

I'm probably going to comply."

At one point, he defended Donald Trump saying, "The guy didn't do anything wrong," and then

later on said that, "this investigation began because Donald Trump is an idiot and he absolutely

may have done something wrong."

He insulted Sarah Huckabee Sanders' weight and appearance at one point, even though that

was nowhere near what they were supposed to be talking about.

Yes, that kind of sounds like the behavior of a guy who's not all there mentally because

of the influence of drugs or alcohol or prescription medication.

Nonetheless, Sam Nunberg did not do Donald Trump any favors yesterday, but he also didn't

provide any information that I think Mueller is going to use in his investigation.

Even if they get this guy on the stand, even if he turns over all kinds of information

about Donald Trump, he's already kind of destroyed his credibility to the point that I don't

think Mueller's going to take anything that this nut job has to say very seriously.

Rep. Devin Nunes Exposes Proof That There Actually Was Collusion With Russia(VIDEO)!!! - Duration: 8:36.

Rep. Devin Nunes Exposes Proof That There Actually Was Collusion With Russia

housing tell committee chair Devin Nunez has asked the Justice Department to

investigate its FISA Court application that ultimately approval wiretapping a

former Trump aide quarter-page you know about that by now with us is the House

Intelligence Committee chairman representative Devin Nunez congressman

thank you for taking the time where does this stand right now the back and forth

over who noon what and when as you know the president has serious concerns about

the IG to be a fair arbitrator of any of this what do you think of that well look

we we continue to plot along and do our job under unser ma'am I'm almost

insurmountable pressure from all sides so we have a media that pretty much

confused to cover this issue at all we have serious abuses that occurred within

the FISA Court against the Trump campaign so we continue to get back

we'll bring those facts forward as as we see them and what I sent out a couple

days ago was a letter to attorney general Jeff Sessions and to mr.

Horowitz the IG pretty much updating him on where we are in our investigation and

what they should be looking at as it relates to FISA abuse so I was I was

happy to see Attorney General Jeff Sessions appoint mr. Horowitz because we

welcome more people investigating these serious issues that were you don't agree

with the president was not happy that he appointed mr. Horowitz you have

confidence and in my cohorts as the Inspector General well look I welcome

anybody to come help investigate because so far it's only the House Intelligence

Committee Republicans who are actually doing anything to get to the bottom of

who was colluding with Russia and where we filled this back we we have clear

evidence of collusion but it's not between the Trump campaign it's between

the Democratic Party and the Hillary campaign in the Russia you know now

they've turned the thing on you of Congress and saying that you're quite a

leaker this campaign for accountability says that you should be looked at for

leaking information without consequence time and again represented Nunez and his

staff leaked confidential information what will it take for the

house to step in and stop this clear abuse of authority they're referring to

text from Senator Mark Warner 'he's office that ultimately got out in the

public domain and that you were the culprit what do you think well this is

what they tried about eight or nine months ago you may remember they they

continued to file these phony ethics charges these are all left-wing groups

what's happening here is is that every left-wing group in America knows that we

have caught the Democratic Party in the Hillary campaign red-handed and it

appears like they weaponized the intelligence agencies if you really look

at what's happened here so there's been a character assassination of anyone who

gets up and tries to get to the truth so I don't pay attention what these

left-wing groups do I've been looked at and looked at and

looked at by the mainstream media they refuse to actually even cover this this

issue since that's another charge on you're saying you're you you never

leaked anything well it's laughable now it's laughable and there are daily leaks

that are occurring that where we know the Democrats have done it we have over

a hundred I know I know they just want to be clear would you say it's laughable

and laughable that you would would leak anything right right it's laughable that

we've leaked anything when there's daily leaks that come out all right and so so

this is this is ridiculous okay the Jeff Sessions moves right now and

appointing this inspector general to look into all of application controversy

it was the latest thing that prompted the President to tweet his concerns and

an opportunity to criticize his his Attorney General yet again and I'm

wondering if whether you believe that Jeff Sessions is up to the task the

president clearly seems to be intimating at the very least he's not do you well

it's not really my job to ascertain what the Attorney General should or should

not be doing we're running our own investigation in the house and like I

said earlier I am happy that Attorney General Jeff session appointed Horowitz

to begin to look into the FISA abuse this is the first

we've had and so we will we welcome everybody to the party to try to get to

the truth I'm pleased that we're moving forward

with the IG and we will can we will work with the IG and we'll work with whoever

else wants to help us get to the bottom of it um you mentioned that you don't

believe that the media presents a fair case of this may be an indication of

that was the fact that you've increasingly comes a lot of late-night

comic jobs particularly Stephen Colbert was up on Capitol Hill I think making

you the butt of some jokes let's take a look at this I want you to react to this

even go back can you read what is on the memo the

memo says investigation update Devon Nunez is a and then it's redacted yes we

don't know Devon Nunez is a and we're not allowed to release that information

it's classified CBS won't let me say it on air either I

think that this should be released Devon Nunez is a yeah could be anything

good yeah we don't know do you have any guesses what am I saying are you dare

Californian public servant former dairy farmer former dairy farmer yeah really

because he seems to be milking it right now what did you think of that did did

Barrett make any effort to go to you to talk to you yeah well I think this is

the danger that we have in this country this is an example of it so the left

controls not only the universities in this country but they also control

Hollywood in this country and the mainstream media so it is conservatives

in this country are under attack and I think this is a great example of

it so I hope they continue to do it because on one hand you'll see these

you'll see the last and the media running out there saying oh my gosh it's

the end of the world the Russians attacked our democracy and

we have evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian

however they can't show it they have no proof when we present them and the

American people with clear proof that not only did the Democratic Party

collude and get information from the Russian and then an investigation was

opened up into the Trump campaign to spy on the Trump campaign its cricket and so

then they resort to going to going to their friends

Hollywood to make fun of people and attack people who are trying to get to

the truth so I enjoy the attack if they want to continue to attack me that's

fine you and Jerry even try or is staffed right out to reach you to

everyone I have no idea not that I know of but I wouldn't I don't know so when

you get popped back and forth in the press and you refer to it in the past

that they say you're doing the president's bidding is that fair is that

right what do you think I don't know I mean we're not we don't get any orders

from the White House we don't get any orders from anybody else we do our job

and we follow the facts where they lead so and we're every step that we take we

uncover more and more information if there wasn't for what we have done no

one would know that that dossier that was used by the FBI and bragged about by

multiple intelligence agencies and and leaked to the press and talked about by

all of the press in this country including including even Fox nobody

would know if it wasn't for the work that we've done on our committee that

the Republicans did with opposition from the Democrats the fusion GPS was being

paid by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic Party to dig up this dirt

which was phony dirt to use against the President of the United States so we

continue to uncover facts while the rest of the people continue to obfuscate

which is totally fine but we're going to continue our work chairman thank you

very very much I think you know by the way we did reach out to congressman

Jeff's office so balance all of this out they've not gotten back hope springs

eternal thank you god bless you and God bless america

How To Get Player Unknown Battlegrounds For Under $1 - Duration: 4:36.

Hey Tech fans glad to see you guys back here now

I have to say the video card giveaway was a

really nice

Success all the way a lot of people got involved had a lot of fun with it the Twitter giveaway works great because I'm able

To contact the people directly so I decided to do one more this time

I'm going to be giving away four game titles two copies of pug B, and two copies of

Global Offensive, so I'm sure you guys all know what that is so it'll be four games this time

I know what people say oh my god

These titles are kind of clicked, baby

But they're honestly they're not they're just to get your

attention here a lot of people if they see just so I'm gonna do a giveaway thing they tend to just kind of go ant

Whatever you know what I mean

I don't know why that is but this at least draws the people and I love to give you guys stuff and one thing really

Good about these game codes. It doesn't matter where you live

I don't have to worry about shipping it to you or coming up with you living someplace that I'm having a hard time even getting

It to or it's like five hundred dollars to ship to your island that you live to in the middle of nowhere

It's a nightmare giving game codes away is

Perfect so Counter Strike global Offensive everybody knows that game

They play it a lot and player unknown battlegrounds is like one of the most popular games

It's out there right now

and what's really cool is for you folks that on the Nvidia side of things and

Vidya has all

Kinds of cool stuff going on we made a video about it before and I'll have a link down below where it'll show you where?

You can actually play pug be on even a cheap laptop with over 60 frames per second no lag whatsoever

Due to using some of the features that NVIDIA has with their software and with their a whole you know

Environment that they work in now AMD hasn't yet quite up and doesn't have anything like that yet

There's no AMD thing like there

Will they have all their games in the cloud you can go get them and everything just right there in a bucket?

This is like right now

And that's kind of a nice thing about Nvidia at that point is that you can do that so if you guys

Want to be able to win copy does it came like I said two copies of plug B two copies of the other so?

That's four games. That's a lot of people so what you need to do. It's simple. It's really easy share liked this video

I'd like if you subscribe to the channel, but please do not sub my channel

Just to get in the contest and then come back and D

Sub if you don't win I would prefer that you did not sub my channel

Whatsoever it just confuses things when the numbers jump up and all of a sudden these numbers go down

So you don't have to be sub to my channel, but you do have to like share the video

Go over to Twitter do the same thing and then I'll be picking the four winners on Twitter

Just like usual because it's very very simple and like I said before I have a lot of

gleam stuff coming up and you guys are going to be blown away when you actually see what we are doing because I've got a

Lot of people involved in this even AMD believe it or not even though

We're not exactly on the greatest of speaking terms right now

They actually did provide some stuff for us to bring you guys this gleam giveaway, so I've got systems coming up power supplies

I've got some really honestly some badass

Reservoirs that are coming from NR Max you guys are going to trip on these things

They're just absolutely brilliant, so I know some people want everything to be gleam, but this is just too simple man 4 game codes hey

Why should we go to blame for this? It's really easy what I'm gonna. Do is. I'm gonna look for you share the video

I'll see it over on Twitter because it'll say on your Twitter account if you shared the video

So it's somebody said last time well. How do you know if they shared the video?

What's pretty easy on Twitter because it says you shared the video

And it's right on your channel, so all I have to do is look, and if you haven't well

Then you didn't follow the rules, but it's very very simple. I know some people say oh my god

I look I don't want to use Twitter, but I mean honestly you don't really have to use Twitter to be in the contest

Subscribing and is having on your system

You could wait and delete it

But there are so many contests on Twitter these days that honestly if you're a person who wants to take a chance

Just do the Twitter thing just for the country. You know just for the be able to enter these contests

There are guys that I know who spend all of their time all day long and wring contests

And that's all they do and guess what?

These guys win stuff a lot. They're guys with stacks and stacks of crap at their home

Really from entering these contests, so I mean if you enter enough stuff eventually you're going to win somewhere

That's just the rule of numbers

So hey take a chance enter the contest try it out get yourself pug beat for under a buck hell and get it for free

Like usual down to that like button

Hopefully you like this and don't dislike it when I'm giving stuff away

Cuz that's just insanity, but hopefully you do and all of all the information down there

And hey if you do want to set the channel because you like our content

I would love to see you and have you part of our family piece out of her buddy
