The Bayern squad is nearly complete, with Arjen Robben and the French players

Corentin Tolisso and Kingsley Coman the last Europeans have returned to Munich from their

international fixtures and are now back in training at Säbener Street.

Now it's up to the players.

Starting on Saturday we have to deliver on the pitch.

We're trailing Dortmund by five points and of course we can't afford to let this gap increase any further.

We have to establish a series now,

we have to work on certain things and improve. We need to elevate our game

and I am certain we will achieve that.

As a team we have to show character now.

While James was still missing from training as he is expected to return to Munich

later in the day, Arturo Vidal had to sit out once more due to a minor injury. However, most of the players

in Bayern Munich's professional squad are fit and ready for the extremely busy month of October, including Bayern's

player of the month September, Joshua Kimmich.

We played Freiburg in the last match of the past season so it's not too long ago.

They had a relatively bad start to the season and so did we.

Obviously it's a really important game specifically for us.

We want to start a winning series with our new manager and we want our games to be more positive again.

We want to record good results

and we want to start doing that on Saturday.

Starting with Saturday's Bundesliga home match against Freiburg Bayern are facing several important games in October.

The Bayern women's team already played an extremely important game last night and unfortunately

suffered a tremendously bitter Champions League exit at the hands of Chelsea.

After having already suffered an unlucky 1:0 defeat in the first leg, the Bayern team

showed yet another convincing performance but failed to win by more than 2:1

due in part to several controversial referee's calls.

Understandably, the team is completely crestfallen.

They showed a great fight in both games.

There's nothing much we can blame ourselves for except maybe that we didn't score more goals.

Now we have to try and lift our players off the ground again.

and keep me eating what I want.

That would be my parents.

How are you inspiring others to be bold for change?

Be the change.

You just have to be the change yourself.

If you're doing it yourself, you show the example

and then people can just follow what you're doing.

Of all the changes you've seen over the years,

which has been the hardest to deal with?

The hardest to deal with, becoming a mom was a hard change.

But also recently changing departments.

Making sure that I fit in with my new team

was actually a big challenge.

AMORES PERROS: Iñárritu's Mexico - Duration: 11:40.

So... it's Hispanic Heritage Month and by the time you watch this video there's either

a few days left of it or none at all. Irrespective of that, I've been wanting

to celebrate the work of one of my favorite filmmakers on this channel for

years now. His name is Alejandro Iñarritu he's the man behind two of my all-time

favourite movies and today I want to hone in on one of those - that film being

Amores Perros. Iñárritu's presentation of Mexico is one of inherent violence -

it's the way he views his nation, his intention with this film is to never

caricature instead presenting space and characters from a hyper-realistic

perspective. This relates to the pervasive presence of violence and its

consequences as a defining characteristic of contemporary life in

his native city. Iñárritu doesn't discard the beauty of Mexico and the

pride he has of being a Mexican but he certainly explores the underbelly of the

nation aptly and accurately. in interviews Iñárritu has dubbed

Amores Perros' Mexico as a "violent place, mentally and physically, and one

that is about to be overcome by his characters' animalistic nature." The

director along with his trusty cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto utilizes

short focal lengths to highlight this perspective. The repetition of short

focal lengths and wide angles in each episode of this multi-protagonist film

allows us, as the audience, to make a connection between the stories beyond

thematic devices. We are literally piecing all three stories together purely based

on the ways in which they are visually presented to us. The wide angles create

separation; the extreme close-ups force us to find an emotional connection to

whichever character is in question. When I say repetition though I don't

mean it in a nauseating way. The shots are presented to us differently - they

just happen to be similar in execution. This inherently allows Iñárritu to

to reinforce the idea that his version of Mexico is one that doesn't allow its

people to breathe. Though they may be walking different lives they're all

walking in the same direction. In Amores Perros, that direction is death and

danger. The wide angles often distort filmic space, which is contributed to by

the dehumanizing violence, be that an explosive car crash or aggressive

dogfighting. These wide angles keep us at arm's length,

but we're still close enough to almost feel everything. That's the beauty of

Iñárritu's movies I find. He doesn't hold your hand through the story,

nor does he drop you in uninvited, you're almost forced to experience and feel the

picture but unable to actually help his characters. it creates a genuine emotion -

one of desperation and inherent sadness. Amores Perros, his debut feature, is a

hallmark in the director's style and aesthetic. These wide handheld angles

offer up a feeling of explosiveness; at any minute something crazy can happen

remember when I said that Iñárritu repeats these shots across all three

stories? Look at how he frames Octavio's humble house, now the expensive

upmarket home of Valeria... and then Chivo's dilapidated basement.

Despite the economic disparity between all three and the inherently different

characters inhabiting them, there's still this palpable feel of danger. It ties

back into Iñárritu's vision of Mexico one where his characters are all

on different paths but, ultimately, walking in the same direction. I actually

want to focus the bulk of this essay on all three houses of our titular

characters purely because the way in which Iñárritu frames them is not

only fascinating but telling of the story itself.

So let's rewind back to the first story: Octavio, his brother Ramiro, Susana, her

baby and their mother all inhabit these small walls. The house is far too small

yet instead of showing this cramming, Iñárritu opts to frame almost

everything with an establishing shot. Despite this supposed family being

together, Iñárritu's camera tells us all we need to know about them. They're

disjointed, disconnected and distanced from one another.

The only time we switch to extreme close-ups are in moments of loudness and

aggression. It is here where Iñárritu decides to involve more characters in

the shot, which is kind of ironic right? After all an extreme closeup dictates

that only one character fills the screen. Not in Amores Perros... or at least not in

this house. Close-ups are often punctuated by characters behind our

subject blurred and foggy but still watching, ever-present. It adds to the

claustrophobia of this house. I love this shot right here...

notice how Iñárritu's camera tells the entire story. He toys with the short focal

length to distort the foreground and the background. What does this do? It creates

the idea of an illicit desire between Susana and Octavio;

you then have Ramiro pacing, to narcissistic and self-absorbed to notice

what's happening, and then the mother standing afar but overlooking them as if

she is aware of their illicit desires. Notice too how the objects surrounding

them seem big and a plenty almost as if they represent these physical barriers

between human communication in this household.

Although the wide angle appears to give the room an allure of size and space,

what dominates is the notion of a fragmented family. Toward the end of this

story, the short focal length and wide angle combine to amplify the feeling of

desperation. It actively distorts the facial features of Octavio and his

mother as he realises that Susanna and Ramiro have left the country. The scene

ends with a long shot of Octavio peering out of the window. Iñárritu opts for a

handheld version of this shot in the final cut, the shaking representing this

imminent explosion of frustration and violence.

The house suddenly looks huge and empty in spite of its miniscule size what does

this all mean? Iñárritu's wide angle has both expanded and contracted

this space. The breathing of this version of Mexico and its characters is

represented through the shifting of Octavio's House. Iñárritu's camera in

this first story constructs a space that cramps the characters in tiny interiors,

impairs their personal and social progress and surrounds them with an air

of inevitability and foreboding from which they are unable to escape. Let's

move on to the second story, the one that revolves around Valeria a famous model

and her wealthy husband Daniel. When the story begins the wide angles are no

longer; stability has returned to the screen. We are imbued of this feeling of

air. Our characters are finally breathing. They're living comfortably. But the

moment we see Valeria's house for a second time much later in the story, the

wide angles have returned and so has she... this time in a wheelchair, her career

shattered. The haunting wide high-angle shot of Valeria laying impotent on the

bed is almost entrancing. She's about to find out that her contract has been

cancelled and her modeling career is essentially over. As this horror reaches

her ear, this spacious luxurious apartment now feels like a

claustrophobic cage. Iñárritu's suffocating of his characters

returns. Once again it speaks of his vision of

Mexico, one of an abandonment of humanity and the lack of hope. Everything is

restricted. There's a moment in this story though, before Valeria's accident,

where the model and her husband quickly walk toward the window to overlook a

billboard of her modelling campaign. We think nothing of this shot... I suppose

it's a sweet moment between a couple. Iñárritu later returns to this moment

after Valeria has had her leg amputated, though this time it feels torturous. Her

journey from the door to the window is longer, emphasized by the editing and the

change in focal length. The distance between the door and the window is

unimaginably different to the first time we see it.

Iñárritu effectively switches focal lengths to emphasize the hopelessness of

this Mexico and the people that inhabit it. The model's identity was once all

about image and beauty, but now the billboard is blank. Iñárritu's

camera, now pulled back, gives the house the aesthetic of a tunnel - one from which

there is no end in sight. The thing is though I mentioned that

there is beauty in Iñárritu's Amores Perros and perhaps I haven't done

that justice. So I think it's worth pointing out that despite providing us

with a somewhat haunting shot of Daniel and Valeria, you can see that

the two are now truly in love... their passion for one another is no longer

cosmetic. That brings us to El Chivo the final story and the one that unites it

all. Once again Iñárritu's wide-angle haunts the audience. This time it's the

conversation between El Chivo and Gustavo, eager to murder his half-brother,

accompanied by a friend. The three talk about planning out this murder but the

wide-angle never changes. Even between establishing shots, close-ups and the

like the entire scene is shot on a wide angle. It highlights the distance between

the two in an almost fantastical manner. The short lens gives the scene

grotesque aesthetic, almost as though Iñárritu's Mexico is smiling and

applauding at this plan of murder and rage. Any hopes of communication and

community in this society is rapidly slipping away, the visuals only work to

aid that notion since a normal focal length would have appeared closer to the

characters with less of a distance to digest and view the actions of this

society through a distorted prism. The wide-angle is often a product of

contemporary cinema, and used without much power, but in the hands of Iñárritu

and his cinematographer Prieto, it immediately becomes a tool that totally

reshapes this world and story. And it effectively constructs an urban space

that is strongly unified, not in humanity, but instead violence and pervasive

danger. Amores Perros is a tough watch and a

bitter pill to swallow, but behind its powerful images is a visionary. A true

master of the camera...

Bringing Girl Scouts to Every Girl - Duration: 7:55.

>> Are we ready to put our hands up?

>> Our girl scout troop got started a couple of years ago.

Three special ed teachers in Knox County got together

and decided that there was a gap in girl scouting

for kids with special needs.

Girl Scouts has been really good for Sidney

because it's given her social outlet.

She's severely autistic and intellectually disabled.

And so it gives her a place where she can be social

with kids like her, kids who have different levels

of functioning to learn acceptance,

learn leadership skills.

I think that girls get to shine in any troop.

And I think that troops take on a personality of their own.

It's a small group of like-minded girls that get

to shine with their own skills.

>> Girl Scouts has been committed to diversity

and inclusion since our founding in 1912.

And our all-girl space is more relevant

than ever for girls today.

>> Research tells us that girls today are growing up in a period

of rapid demographic and social change.

Four in 10 girls in the United States is currently considered

low income, and low-income girls often have less access

to the kinds of amazing opportunities

that Girl Scouts provides.

[ Music ]

>> So Troop 6000 is the first girl scouting troop that's

solely for girls who are living in New York City Shelter System.

I am the troop leader and I started the troop

after becoming homeless last year as a form of motivation

and encouragement for the girls.

These girls have formed such an amazing sisterly bond

and it makes me very emotional.

>> You know, I'm 15.

I'm a teenager.

I see the girls in New York like how they are and they're

like make fun of you because your mom can't afford a pair

of shoes.

[ Music ]

Like with them is different, you know?

When I'm around them, when I'm around them like I just forget

about them and it's just like it's us.

>> It's important for every single girl to be a girl scout

because it changes you and makes you stronger

and you'll believe in yourself.

You're just like, "Oh, I believe in myself,"

you know, like you're strong.

>> You know, I'm a living breathing example

that Girl Scouts works.

You know, I was able to learn how to do things

in a safe supportive environment.

I had female mentors who saw the potential in me and brought me

to activities that really helped me develop my potential.

And I'm so grateful for Girl Scouts, so it's vital

that we provide those opportunities

for girls all over America.

[ Music ]

>> My family and I emigrated here from Mexico

so we were undocumented for a while.

Girl Scouts really did give me the confidence

to do what I'm doing now today.

I'm a first generation college student here at the University

of Arizona here in Tucson.

And I really do attribute a lot of my successes as a girl scout

and the skills that they gave me that's why I'm so successful

and here today working for Girl Scouts.

Working with Girl Scouts is a dream.

I-- When I saw the first job opening, I--

my eyes lit up and I was like, I want to do this.

>> I love Girl Scouts because it's fun

to do and we learn a lot.

>> Been working in a predominantly

like Latina community.

I'm working in a Hispanic community.

I'm working with youth that are undocumented, they're refugees.

With youth that remind me of myself.

>> No matter how much money your family has, your race,

your ethnicity, your identity, your family structure,

your ability, or even where you are born,

girls and their families need to know there's a place

for them at Girl Scouts.

[ Music ]

>> We've been lucky that we've had a lot of success in reaching

out to different religious organizations and bringing them

in to girl scouting and showing them that girl scouting is

in fact for them and that we have programs

that speak to their religions.

>> The difference between the OCBC Girl Scouts

and other Girl Scout troops is we also bring in the element

of our Japanese heritage.

You do not have to be a Japanese nor do you have to be Buddhist

to be part of the troop

but those are some aspects we bring into the troop.

>> Well, it's really important that like we have our culture

and girl scouts, because we're always like although we do,

do like the girl scout concepts,

we also try to include our culture while we try doing

new things.

>> Girl Scouts and slum really connect with each other

because they're basically--

if you combine them it becomes just this gigantic,

gigantic family.

And it really like teaches you like trustworthiness and how

to be kind, respectful.

>> It's great to like be able to open up to our community

and also have Girl Scouts to be a big part of it.

>> And I also feel like the Girl Scouts' virtue is they help us

in implementing this into our daily lives.

[ Music ]

>> For those of us who know and believe

in the Girl Scout program, we also know that every girl,

every girl deserves to have the benefits

of the Girl Scout leadership experience.

>> It's up to us to make sure

that our resources are serving girls regardless

of where their family might come from, where they live,

or what their abilities are when they join us in girl scouting.

We need to make a decision to align our resources

for the girls who need us most.

>> Every girl has the capabilities

of becoming a leader.

And just because they don't live in an environment may promote

that from within because it's not a priority,

we need to take it upon ourselves

in bringing the program to every single girl we possibly can.

>> Across America, there are girls that want

to become girl scouts.

And what we need is we need those role modes;

those caring adults, those troop leaders to start troops,

to serve those girls, to provide them the life-changing

opportunities, to develop them into a woman of courage,

confidence, and character and make the world a better place.

There is no better time and the need is now.

I encourage you, please reach out, start a troop,

go into your communities and provide girl scouting

to all those girls who want to become girl scouts.

>> All girls deserve to be able to impart themselves

through Girl Scouts and learn these life skills

that will them in the future.

It's a really good expertise, I think, for every girl.

And I think everyone deserves that opportunity.

and today I will talk with you about "how to feel better?"

A lot of people surround themselves with depression and negative thoughts,

because of that they attract negative consequences

and they can't get out of vicious circle.

Probably because you don't understand that with negative thoughts

you are spreading negative energy and with that you ARE attracting negative.

So... How to end that?

It is easy. Recreate negative into positive!

It's called LAW OF ATTRACTION.

Instead of complaining how bad your life is

change that into gratitude for whatever is good in it.

First step is to accept yourself!

And to accept reality we created ourselves.

YES, we are creating our lives,

it's not happening just like that without any reason.

Every thought is becoming reality.

When you accept that it's your own fault for all bad

and good things that happened to you

and when you stop blaming others for your failures,

when you accept fact that with your thought you are creating your own life,

you will notice how your life is changing...

To better!

When I say to accept yourself and life that you have

I want you to accept yourself as what you truly are!

Beautiful creatures full of inspiration and positive energy!

Full of creativity

which you put on side because you were listening to others and not to yourself.

Focus on things that you love and that makes you happy!

Surround yourself with people that are spreading positive energy,

that can help you to go forward your goal.

Problem is not in your surrounding,

"problem" is in YOU.

That sounded a little bit harsh, right?

But that's how it is and you should accept it.

If you would just focus more on things that you love and want to do

you would spend less thinking about things you don't want.

Law of attraction-you are attracting what you think about.

It's not so complicated.

Ok, and then I'm listening:

"Yes, yes, it's easy for you to say just to commit myself to things that I love,

that's just a hobby, I have to work to earn for living."

Probably a job you don't like...

...and don't want to do...

I HAVE TO do this, I HAVE TO do that,

I DON'T have time for a hobby...

WRONG!!

Throw out I HAVE TO

and change it into I WANT TO!

Do things you WANT TO do

because they make you happy.

As long as you follow one rule:

without a harm to any other creature.

That would be just logical when you would think positive,

when you would instead of hurting others try to help them

so they can realize their wishes and dreams.

For beginning move at least one I HAVE TO

and put there I WANT TO.

So that time which you were spending on I HAVE TO

dedicate to I WANT TO.

You will see how positive it can be.

You will see how new ideas are just appearing,

how much positive energy you are spreading and thus attracting more.

Things are happening for a reason.

If you do not succeed in one goal

that's probably because you changed vibration and energy toward that goal.

You don't enjoy it anymore or you changed your goal.

Maybe your vibration forward your aim went higher

and opportunity that was good for you earlier

is not good enough for you now...

Because you can't learn anything more from that,

you deserve better! And that better is coming!

Some things just don't happen because something better is waiting for us.

That's why we should look at it more positive.

If we went into that way which closed to us

we wouldn't be on new, better and more interesting one!

If you want to feel better

my advice is to focus on yourself,

and to accept yourself the way you are.

Without weaknesses,

without negative thoughts like:

"Oh, my life is bad..."

YES, IT IS BAD because YOU ARE THINKING that way,

because you used your time for things you DON'T LIKE and DON'T WANT.

Because you are not letting positive energy to flow into your life!

You are stopping it with negative!

You are stopping it because others told you so,

you are stopping it because you are afraid!

That is such a stupid thing to do!

Don't let fear to stop you!

Overcome it!

Do what makes you happier!

Think about it!

Be creative!

Learn more!

Be a teacher!

LOVE!

Stay positive.

The law states you are only allowed to use this lane if you are carrying at least one

additional passenger with you.

Busses and motorcycles are also allowed to use the lane.

Violation of this law is a Class B traffic violation and carries a $265 base fine in

Multnomah County.

** I have recently been working this area and

have noticed a significant amount of drivers breaking this law.

My goal with this short video is to reach a larger number of folks than I would normally

contact through enforcement, in hopes we could reduce the number of violators and save some

of you from a mark on your driving record and a steep fine.

** Not only is this act against the law, but

it causes a lot of frustration to those waiting in traffic when single occupant vehicles illegally

drive in the HOV lane just to save some time.

We often hear from community members asking us to enforce this law because in the end,

drivers violating this law decrease traffic flow causing everyone to be in their cars

even longer.

I know waiting in traffic on a congested roadway is no fun and not the way you want to spend

your afternoon, but is it really worth the citation, fine and chance to possibly cause

a road rage incident?

** So, do the right thing and obey the HOV lane

law or think about carpooling.
