Today I have started the reconstruction of my house.

I've got all necessary tools for it.

Remember the big fire?!

It all happened because of my inattentiveness.

I left the saucepan on the stove and went out.

I was lucky that firefighters came in a few minutes and stopped the fire.

Thanks to them my house didn't burn.

Now I have to start the reconstruction!

I have a lot of work – to install new windows, to paint the house - I need a lot of energy

for this!

The house is really damaged badly.

All windows cracked because of the fire, frames were burnet.

Oh!

Also I have to change the roof completely.

Let's start from the windows – first we should take off old frames on the second floor,

then on the first.

All right!

Done!

Also we need to take off the door in the garage.

We have done it!

I called the crane.

It is going to help me with a roof.

It will take the roof off the house using the winch and crane hook.

With its help, the work will be much faster.

The crane will also install the frame for new roof.

Great!!!

Let's talk about will o' wisps in Finland.

Will o' wisps have been spotted all over the world.

Little flames.

People have followed them and possibly

found treasures buried by elves.

In Finland aarnivalkea (will o' wisps) are also known as (aarni Finnish mythical spirit that guards the treasure aarnivalkea = aarni's fire)

virvatuli, haltijatuli or haltijoiden tuli (elf flame or fairies flame)

In Finland will o wisps have been spotted

around the country.

There has been lots of sightings especially in southern Finland.

It is believed that will o' wisp has a blue

eternal flame.

In Finland many of the sightings have taken place

in the middle of the forest.

Many times outside in the corner of a barn or house.

Also in the yard. Many times people spotted will o' wisps

in the area between house yard and the forest.

Sometimes they could be seen above a pond

or another water area.

Back in the days when most land was

mixture of farming land and the forest

and looked like a patchwork.

Above tiny hills one could see will o'wisp

also above piles

of stones.

They were considered as part of every day life

because back then folk magic and superstitions were part of every day life.

They were part of the world view of people

and part of the

storytelling.

They weren't considered as something supernatural

like we now days might see them as supernatural phenomenon.

In Finland there has been

very strong beliefs that will o' wisps

were connected to elves and fairies

and treasures of elves. Also to treasures that people of the past might

have buried.

There was different kinds of terms

how one could find such treasures

or how one could magically lift them up

from the ground.

Only person who could lift the treasure from the ground

was the one who buried the treasure

who knew the magical words and spells

how to lift the treasure up from the grounds.

Person who was not who buried the treasure

but who knew where treasure was buried.

They had to fill certain terms to gain the treasures.

Terms might include

doing certain types of sacrifices.

Sometimes terms were rather silly

like say specific words during specific time like Midsummer Solstice at midnight.

Sometimes those terms

might come out so complicated

that people didn't even bothered

to dig the treasures (fear for curses was also part of every day life).

Burying treasures was also part of the culture

for example during wars and such.

People buried treasures to the ground

and some of them have been found later on.

Many times

if one person became suddenly very rich

other people in the village might explain that

that this particular person had found a treasure buried by elves

and magically lifted the treasure from the ground and claming the treasure.

These kinds of stories are told about will o' wisps in Finland
