Youtube daily report w Oct 21 2017

Today we're back with another custom mechanical keyboard build for someone, and we're going

with another 60% build, because of its accessibility and modularity.

And here are the parts for today's build.

Since my other B.face build, it's no surprise that some people wanted to have something

similar.

But just so you know, I do have a bunch of different builds coming soon.

So we're again using the B.face R 60% PCB.

However this time to save on some money, we got the resistors and diodes separate, because

it is a pricey item.

Also from the Winkeyless store we have their BBB acrylic case, and this my first time working

with this.

This build is also pretty exciting for me, because we're using the Kailh Box Red keyswitches,

which I'll go more in depth about later.

For the keycaps to match with the acrylic case, we have these blank frost ABS caps.

And then we have the genuine Cherry stabilisers, and some white LEDs to finish it off.

Alright so let's just get straight into the build.

Here's the case, and this is also what the keyswitches will be mounted to, rather than

a more traditional metal plate.

And this is what we call a sandwich case, as these 4 main acrylic pieces stack up to

create

the enclosure.

To start off we have the top 2 plates which will hold the keyswitches in place.

So I'm just gonna put in a few keyswitches to line everything up, and then put the PCB

in.

What makes this slightly difficult is that the Kailh Box keyswitches are plate mount

switches, meaning that they don't have the little prongs that go into the PCB to align,

and hold them in place.

So to hold it in place we just solder in these few keyswitches in each corner.

I'm only going to solder in 1 pin on each to save time desoldering it later.

Normally you wouldn't need to desolder, but for these specific keyswitches we have

to, for the LEDs to fit.

The Kailh Box Red switches are designed to be used with SMD LEDs.

This is because it has a closed design, where there's no holes for a through hole LED

to pop through.

As we can see the top is closed off, and the bottom has a hole to let liquids seep through.

If we open up the switch we can see that the metal contacts are also enclosed in their

own compartment, and are activated by this small green bit which is pushed by the slider.

So if there is a spill, the metal contacts won't be affected.

Another thing to note is that the springs are narrower than standard MX switch springs,

so you can't as easily change them out.

The stems have the same Cherry style cross, but also the surrounding plastic.

So yes, these will fit the standard MX keycaps you find everywhere.

This closed top with the open bottom design by Kailh is intended to keep dust out, as

well as moisture which they say can cause corrosion, and they have been given an IP56

protection rating.

Because of this, we have to put the LED in first, and then put the keyswitch over it.

The other thing is that the gap in the switch isn't that big.

So a typical 3mm round LED will hardly go up through the hole, so I'm using these

rectangular 2x3x4 LEDs.

And these go up quite far because of it's shape.

Before soldering in the LEDs, I also have to put in the keyswitches and then solder

them in place, so that I know how far the LEDs need to go through the PCB.

And this is not a soldering tutorial, I want avoid explaining this every time I do a build,

so I'll link some good tutorials in the description below.

Once the keyswitches are soldered in place, I can push the LEDs all the way through, and

then solder those in.

With the LEDs you just have to look at the polarity for the orientation.

The longer pin will be the positive, with the shorter the negative.

And the PCB will have it labelled on there.

One of the mistakes I made when ordering this stuff, is that I got the plates which have

these big holes for the stabilised keys.

As said before, these Kailh Box switches don't have the prongs to line them up, so they can

swivel around.

So I'm gonna go to the stabilisers first and sort it out after.

Here I have genuine Cherry stabilisers.

And they're nice and easy to put together, but first I'll lube them.

I'm using Super Lube which is easy to buy, but you can also use Dieletric grease.

I like to apply it with a brush, but you can use whatever.

Some people use something like a toothpick.

And you just want to put it on the moving contact points.

You can put less, you can put more.

I do like to put quite a bit to ensure no rattle and get a bit of a softer feel, but

dust can be a problem.

If you have fake stabs, lube is absolutely necessary.

Rattly keys are just the worst, especially a rattly spacebar.

It honestly makes such a huge difference in the typing experience and usability of the

keyboard.

And this is where my mistake was actually quite fortunate.

Normally you would put the stabilisers in right at the start, because the mounting plate

goes on top of it.

And if the stabilisers pop out by accident, then you would have to desolder the switches

to get access to them.

With this, they can be taken out and put back in at anytime.

I also did the toothpick mod for the stabs to ensure they don't come out, which can

happen with these clip in stabs and tight keycaps.

And then I just tried my best to line things up and then soldered in the rest of the switches.

Now to the boring and tedious diodes and resistors.

We need the diodes for the keys, and the resistors for the LEDs.

And these are both SMD components, but you can also use through hole diodes which are

much easier to solder if you're just using a regular soldering iron.

It's mainly difficult because of how small they are.

But basically I just put solder on one pad, reflow it and put the component in place.

And then solder in the other side.

For the resistors the orientation doesn't matter.

But for the diodes, it's just like the LEDs.

On the PCB it'll show the flow of the current with this symbol, and then you just line up

the cathode pin accordingly.

All that brownish residue is just the flux, and can be later cleaned with isopropyl alcohol.

And here's the soldering all done.

For most PCBs you won't need to solder the diodes and resistors, so it doesn't really

take long.

But now to put the rest of the case together.

First we'll do the foot which angles the board.

This as well can be had in various colours, and it comes in 4 pieces.

On the end of each piece there's a hole denoting the order in which it stacks.

There's 3 spaces for some threads to go into which will allow us to secure it to the

base.

And the whole thing comes together with these hex screws and matching threads, and they're

also all the same size to make it easy.

And to finish it off, it comes with some 3M feet to stop it from sliding.

And here it is all done.

With all the lighting off, it's quite a unique look.

We have this completely frosted white look.

The keycaps are quite similar to the case, but not as textured.

And they're not that thin at actually about 1.2mm, so that's not bad for super cheap

keycaps.

Also yes these are blanks.

I personally can type without looking at my keyboard, so it's no problem for me, but

of course it will be difficult for others.

The one thing about the Kailh Box switches is that the red colour goes through the keycap

quite a bit because of how big the stem is.

So it's like the keyboard has a bit of a red tint to it.

The case itself is very slim at just over 12mm.

The long foot adds that bit of angle to the case, but also acts as structural support

for the whole keyboard, because it does flex a bit which is understandable.

It is pretty light at about 580 grams, but that's not bad at all.

I was expecting it to be lighter, but it's not far off other 60% boards.

There's a heap of options for different colours for the different layers of acrylic

but we've kept it simple.

And there's also black screws available, but we went with these ones.

And it's a very DIY type of look with the layers and the exposed screws.

It's not for everyone, I personally really like it.

Turning the lights on and we have this.

For the key lighting we just have the white LEDs.

But because of how the switch is constructed, the lighting also has quite a bit of a boxy

look with the top bit of the keycap illuminated.

But of course on the longer keys, we just have the central illumination.

And then we have the RGB underglow.

Because the whole thing is made from acrylic, including the mounting plate, the whole thing

lights up.

And it's a pretty nice and unique effect.

Since it isn't a uniform piece, it is broken up a bit, and the light doesn't really spread

to the sides as much.

The lighting can be customised though in the boot mapper client.

For the top key lighting, we can adjust the brightness and there's a few effects.

And for the bottom underglow we can change the colours to whatever since it is RGB.

And there are also a bunch of effects that you can do.

One of the cool things in my opinion is that the foot that angles the keyboard also lights

up really really nicely.

And of course the typing experience.

I had such a great time with this keyboard, and I got quite attached to it.

The complete acrylic construction does impact on how it feels.

It kind of softens the feel, where metal plates can have a kind of sharp and harsh bottoming

out.

With this it's not so harsh, and in turn makes it slightly quieter.

From this limited experience, I would say the switches are quite smooth, and are at

about Gateron level.

It's hard to say for me, since this is based purely on feel, and some switches are buttery

smooth,with some not so much.

Perhaps they're smoother than Gateron, but I can't say for sure.

So all up it was a fun build, and is the first sandwich build on the channel, so that was

good.

The typing experience is something I really like, with the Kailh Box Red keyswitches offering

a nice alternative for builders.

The look is different to anything I've had on the channel so far.

We've gone full frost to create this ghostly look, with this very DIY look.

I've done the other underglow build before, but this is a different angle to that approach.

I'm actually quite sad I have to send this away, because I got quite attached to using

it on my desktop.

I'll put links in the description for the stuff, and I'll have more Kailh switch builds

coming up soon.

Synchronised Swimming in a Vintage Suit from the 1920's ft. Ona Carbonell | Fashion Behind the Games - Duration: 10:18.

This is Past And Present, the ultimate challenge

to see how fashion has helped sport move forward to this day.

We travel all around the globe to challenge six athletes

and six designers to make an old garment

and test it under today's conditions.

Let's see what happens when past and present collide.

(PAST AND PRESENT SYNCHRONIZED SWIMMING)

(BARCELONA)

Ona is the captain

of the Spanish synchronized swimming team.

She won silver at London 2012 and 90 more medals

throughout her whole career.

Started synchro at 10,

and wrote her first book at 26. And if you take a walk

around Barcelona's trendiest neighbourhoods,

you'll probably find her face on billboards of major brands.

But there's more.

She's also studying fashion design.

This is her teacher and partner, Cristina.

Together they designed the outfits

for the Spanish team of synchronized swimming

for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

That's why we challenged them to recreate an old swimsuit

from the beginning of synchro.

There was a time when synchronized swimmers

weren't called as such.

They were just "aquatic dancers"

and their swimsuits weren't elastic or extra light

like in the present.

The textile revolution came many years after

but they didn't wait for it.

Using a 100% cotton or tapestry fabric

to build a swimsuit was a trend in those days.

So let's go back in time and see how it felt.

One of my favourite movies is Bathing Beauty,

and it's where synchro started. In fact, here in Spain,

when you mentioned synchro everyone was like,

"Oh, that thing with Esther Williams."

She's the icon of this water dancing sport.

So, now the girls have chosen

the model they want to recreate,

it's time to make some drafts...

Some details on the waist.

..find some inspiration...

and take some measurements. Right?

Now...we measure her.

All right. You're the boss.

You remember Esther, right?

It's really important to make precise measurements.

Later, in the water, every inch of fabric is going to count.

So demanding.

I think she's a hard-working person,

she has lots of patience and you need that.

Turn around.

Today we did the design, the first sketch.

Then we did some patterns, and after the patterns,

we cut down a test one.

(SO CUTE)

It's so cute!

Here...I'll make a really nice pleat.

And let's bring the cleavage down...

If I can breathe, even better.

No.

Back then, they didn't breathe.

Well, I need to expand my lungs in the water,

to grab some air, and I don't know if I can.

- No. - Oh, well.

(THE FABRICS)

Now we'll go look for some fabrics

in a well-known, classic store,

from years and years here in Barcelona.

And let's hope we can find one that suits what we need.

This is so hard.

It would need to be like the classic tapestry fabric,

not elastic, because...

nylon and polyester did exist back then,

but they were just starting to be used.

I like this one a lot.

I think it suits what we want to do

and it goes really well with my skin.

I think we could give this one a try.

I took part, along with Ona, in the design of the swimsuits

that went to Rio.

This is the fourth year we design the swimsuits.

It's been quite a difficult process.

It was difficult because, training so much, studying,

and designing the swimsuits on top of that,

it became quite a huge task.

When we do a swimsuit for competition,

we try for it to have just three seams.

On the sides, and... the one in the crotch.

This swimsuit we just made has about...ten pieces.

Which already makes everything harder.

When I try it on the water,

the worst thing won't be the seams,

but the shape.

Now, everything is online and almost ready.

It's time to move on.

It fits really good.

It fits as tight as it should.

I'm a bit scared because she's like...

really tight.

I can't even move that much.

Well, that's the point.

It's really, really tight.

Back then they used it like this,

but since we do a lot of stuff arching back,

with flexibility and our legs over here...

like contortionists, well, with this fabric,

I don't know if I'll be able to move much.

Try lifting your leg.

Tomorrow is the big day -

the experiment in the pool.

That's the whole thing.

It's really, really rigid.

Finally, the day has arrived.

The swimsuit is ready.

Every detail has been checked.

And double-checked.

And Ona is super focused on the test.

The design is quite pretty. The fabric is, well,

it is ideal for... for a couch, I guess.

- With a wide position. - And the arms?

This is Esther Jauma, Spanish National Team Coach.

The right voice to lead us through the experiment.

I've learned a lot by her side.

She knows really well what she wants

and how to get there.

All right, this is the moment we have all been waiting for.

Everything is ready and in place.

And we want to see it from all possible angles.

Ona is about to make an exhausting quality test

of the swimsuit.

It's important to gain a first impression -

how the swimsuit feels in the water.

How was it?

It weighs a lot.

Weighs a lot. I think she feels more uncomfortable

than what it really hinders her movements.

Now, let's perform a second test.

We're trying to see how the swimsuit affects movements.

I told her to start with something simple, like that.

OK. Define "simple".

Ona seems to be fighting to gain some speed and grace,

but it looks like the swimsuit is not really working for her.

Well, it squeezes my thoracic cage

and I can't breathe.

Technically, the biggest difference is

that it weighs too much.

Normally, when she does this exercise,

her legs come out of the water almost to her butt cheeks,

and now they were just around her knees.

OK, first fact -

the swimsuit seems to be a little bit heavy for Ona.

She'll try a really explosive exercise.

And usually she's able to almost get her head out.

See? She's lacking what we call "height",

which is getting your body out of the water,

which right now, she can't,

because it stops her.

With the skirt, water gets inside,

and that creates a lot of resistance.

While going upwards with her legs,

the skirt stops all her movement

and the strength she builds with her arms.

We asked Ona to try an actual Olympic swimsuit

to see the biggest differences between the two of them.

Usually she's able to do this same move

with a great height.

She can get pretty much all her chest out of the water,

and there's nothing wrong with what she does.

Clearly, she's in a great level,

but compared to what she can do, this...

is slow, is heavy...

She's twisting around because I asked her to try

what the skirt does when she...

makes upward and downward movements.

- I can't get up! - She says she can't get up.

Now, let's see Ona making some fast twists.

Well, her legs' opening doesn't vary much,

she can move her legs rather well.

- Yes. - How's that?

It's tough. Oh, well. Definitely.

Because these are short exercises,

but if she had to make a three-minute choreography,

since this is so heavy as it fills with water,

and the fabric is so heavy,

she would probably show her exhaustion a lot faster

than with a regular suit.

Ona has performed the same exercise

with the old and new swimsuits.

Now it's easy to see what happens

when past and present collide.

She looks slow. I figure she feels really heavy

with that fabric, so it really slows down everything she does.

I feel heavy, yeah.

I was expecting it, but, you know, we did something.

And the cold? Does it feel warmer?

It does feel a bit warmer.

You know why? Because I have two layers down here,

which are a bit... too much.

That's probably the only good thing about this swimsuit.

Yeah.

What score would you give the swimsuit?

- An eight? - No. Five.

A five?

All right.

Throughout the experiment,

we've heard that the swimsuit was heavy.

And here is the math.

Wow! 860g!

We'd have to do a special physical preparation

just to tolerate that swimsuit.

I think it turned out... pretty good. Pretty faithful.

It's been one cool process and, to me, quite different.

Synchronized swimming swimsuits

have changed a lot since the beginning,

allowing athletes to improve their physical development

and make the sport much more competitive,

aesthetic and glamorous.

This sport, as only a few others,

pushes the athletes to get involved

in the creative process of the design of the swimsuits,

making them the perfect junction

between fashion and sport.

Every piece of garment featured in the Olympic Games

resumes thousands of human hours

and creative work, and hard work.

That's why we love synchro.

all needs. Let me choose some appliances,

to deepen, I find this interesting oven with opening push pull, oven also

with the right size for the Thanksgiving, but I would also like to point out, this

wine cellar. and this paneled refrigerator, I open both the doors so you can see

the capacity of this refrigerator.

Design Challenger, architects works.

I'm here with Mr. Jack Palazzolo, Vice President of Marketing SubZero and Wolf, buongiorno Jack.

Good-day, good-day!

Thank you, we are very pleased for your invitation here and for training,

and we are pleased that you accept the interview, thank you so much.

You're Welcome, thank you for coming, I'm glade you're here, because as you can see,

the days you spend in Madison there no better way to understand our brand,

and our products, and everything we're doing for the future, than to come here and heard from us,

you are part of our home, so thank you for coming.

Thank You. So my first question is: you have the same brand but for different markets

so which are the reactions of different markets to the Wolf and Sub-zero brand?

Ok, they are truly global brands, SubZero and Wolf, and I been with company now for 10 months,

I come from very different industries, and I work with global brands before,

and I asked our distributors, and people that I met around the world, the same question, "What Sub-zero

and Wolf mean to you?" and the positive things for me is I get the same answer,

no matter where I am; they are products that represent the specialists in their categories,

whether preservation, or preparations, there are no better engineers anywhere, making this products

no brand preserves foods better or give you more options for creating great meals

in the kitchen with the kind of quality and durability that SubZero

and Wolf provide. I'm here with Anthony Ascione, Vice President

Sales of SubZero and Wolf. So thank you, and good evening.

Good evening and thank you for making the trip to Madison Wisconsin.

We are very glad to make this training with you, we're learning a lot, so thank you so much,

and thank you so much for the interview. my pleasure.

Since we are an Italian company, my first question is: how is the approach of your product

I think our approach to the European market

I think our approach to the European market is not really different than our approach to the US market. Fundamentally

we are all about design, we are all about the aesthetics, how the appliances provide a breath of design flexibility,

from professional to contemporary, allowing designer to use our products in very unique and innovative way

so that is a very important part of who we are as an organization,

and I think that whether It's in US or in Europe, or in Asia, allow our brands to be quite relevant.

The other piece of this is really the performance side, when is come to preservation,

when is come to tranfering heat, those are things that allow your basic cook to your masterchef,

doing wonderful things in the kitchen, and this once again I think that translate,

once again, whether if you are in the United States or in other parts of the world. I'm here with the Chef Joel, who cooked

for us, with us, in these days. Hello Joel. Hello How are you? good to see you!

Fine thanks. Thank you for accepting the interview.

Absolutely. Thanks so much. Tell us ... where are we?

So Yeah, we are here in Madison Winscosin, in the United States, and specifically we are

we are in the new bar facilities at SubZero and Wolf, so this is a facilities based on the fact

that we have a garden here, that we bring most of the producing of our training,

so we have a beautiful garden first, and then we built a beautiful building to go with the beautiful garden.

So my question is: how is important to have the right appliances for your food preparation?

One of the things that for the chef

is most important is been able to have control of heat.

Because a lot of time when we are cooking we want to have things very hot, because the heat

develops flavors, we learned about that this week, right. All high heat makes the food taste delicious and give wonderful flavour,

but some times we don't want high we want low, we want to be able

to work with chocolate, or, you know, all things we're prepared,

so we also have low capability as well. So for me as a Chef, on of the most important things

is been able have a lot of control, and we see with our dual steak burners, with the ovens that we have behind us,

and that probably is the single most important thing, for me, on a cooking side, as a chef.

I am here with Paola Massorbio and Carlo

Bonaso of Frigo2000, High Performance Kitchens. Hello Carlo and Paola.

Hi Laura. Frigo2000 with Subzero and Wolf allowed

RIFRA to live this unique experience, This training, which has enriched us both

at the technical level and above all to personal level, so how it is important to

follow this training, this periodic training?

For us it is a fundamental experience, It is for us, but we feel that it is especially

for our reseller customers. for us this is an yearly appointment

where we give the possibility to our customers to come to visit

Subzero Wolf, we have the opportunity to give

to our customers an absolutely unique experience, so they understand what the philosophy

of the company, they can talk to people who work daily in the realization

and in the design of these products, and not least they have a chance to see

those that are the various stages of production that are absolutely unique;

Here very close we can see the factory of the Wolf

Subzero factory, which are as regards technology of production facilities,

perhaps one of the world's most innovative.

Paola: I think it's a fundamental experience for our

customers because it really create a team.

They also changed the format this year, and in this format, there was a lot

interaction between the participants and Subzero.

We won also as Italian, our contest design, we started from the need of a client

who had a beautiful kitchen of almost 100 square meters,

and this has allowed our customers, to to play designing this kitchen,

which by the way it was called "In & Out", and this has just allowed us to understand the

customer needs and which the appliances are suitable to him, which is exactly the philosophy

of High Performance Kitchens. We thank all of you for your presence and

See you soon. I thank you again, the whole team RIFRA

thank you and see you soon! Hello. See you next time. We have now reached the last days of this

training, thank you again to SubZero Wolf, but also to Frigo 2000, there

allowed us to participate in this workshop. Workshop, which has enriched us at the technical level

but also commercially, we was allowed to use all appliances

and cook us our breakfasts every morning, so we experienced and

tested the efficiency and effectiveness of these high-level appliances.

I thank you for your attention and soon all this material will be published on

our platforms, the company website and on the social. So stay connected, and a

big hello from Madison.

Make This Probiotic Pineapple Beer For a Healthy Gut - Duration: 2:48.

Our intestinal flora is made up of several microorganisms of several different species

that live in the digestive tract, especially the colon.

The intestinal flora's function is connected to fermentation and the digestion of indigestible

foods, such as vegetable fiber.

It also influences the production of some nutrients, the absorption of some minerals

and the balance of our immune system.

That's why it's important to take care of your intestinal flora.

Because any changes in it could cause several health problems.

An unbalanced intestinal flora can cause both digestive problems, plus your intestine to

absorb less nutrients.

Badly digested food can contribute to the appearance of allergies and the proliferation

of bad bacteria that can cause diseases.

In today's video we're going to show you a simple recipe that turns a pineapple peel

into a fermented drink, that's rich in probiotics and will bring many benefits to your overall

health.

Probiotics are the solution for damaged intestinal flora, since they are live, natural organisms

that, once consumed, gradually help it to regenerate.

These "good bacteria" help prevent and fight infections, improve digestion, eliminate

toxins, improve skin appearance, and strengthen your immune system.

They're obtained through fermented foods, such as sauerkraut or kefir, or through supplements,

and should be eaten on an empty stomach to maximize efficiency.

This pineapple drink can also help us get these "good bacteria":

Ingredients

The peel of 2 medium to large pineapples; 2 1/2 cups of brown sugar;

3 liters of water.

Instructions

First, wash the pineapples with the help of a small brush and some vinegar.

Then peel them, leaving some pulp on the peel, and cut the peel into small sections.

Then, put them in a large glass container and add the water and sugar.

Let the container sit at room temperature for two days.

If it's cold, the process might take a little longer.

After the 2 days, add the remaining liter of water and let it ferment for another 12

hours.

To stop the fermentation, put the drink in the fridge.

Since the microbes consume the sugar, you can add some sweetener or honey if you wish.

Hello.

I want to show machine torsion tubes of sheet

cone tube mounting to the wall, and it so happened,

that does not find such material, for conical tubes, so

I made a machine for twisting with leaf relevant cones

Pipe .Snachala show

in the machine, and then show what does it consist of. here

twisted

cone, made his hole Which are then cut off,

length is made with some reserve. This is the first

, Test cone to do sheet slightly longer with

reserve, not enough length wrap it. this diameter

about 30 and 50 herein.

Show machine itself.

Made of mounting brackets, All temporary tack,

improvised, everything he found at hand, no

the project has not been done, the design It developed on the fly.

From the corners of the frame is made, at this point to corner welded

a tube.

Itself the rotating parts welded to the tube at 4-polyhedron, the base

made of pipe 20, and the reverse end is made of sloonka

many tubes and temporarily inserted bolt, then there

put the sleeve, threaded , Bolt fixes the tube

interconnected to all the tubes They have been associated with each other.

One tube is a thin-walled, top, so she dressed

not tight, I had to grab welding, it was not at hand

tube, which was necessary.

The second side is also welded to the area, from the bottom of the tube

shaped tube, fortieth square, so in order to

can be moved, if tubes need shorter fastens

bolts from the back side to the corner of the welded nuts.

how to compress it. here

And in sheet drilled hole then they are inserted

roofing screws, at I cut off the head,

And I get a hat.

Inserted through the sheet in one and the second port,

due to this sheet is fixed on the template sheet revolves

around the tube and crimped tube attached to form a matrix,

thereby forming desired cone.

Since such cone rollers Do not wring, and in the hands of small

diameters too problematic do nothing to trim,

and with such a length nowhere insert the tube, turn

.A not entirely smooth

Due to this, the machine turns Cone flat, only

it is necessary to eliminate the backlash on crimp tube, and fit

normal thick tube. If

to do large diameters can be worn tube to

and one on the second side tube, and due to this

will change diameter, and here it is made a groove, so

you can remove the tube and the Tele. A

this tube is ready, it remains Only scald and cut

places with holes, and turns Ready cone. Can

make smooth tube, without cone, on both sides

put the same diameter tube, and then it will just

8 Apple Idioms to Speak English More Like a Native - Duration: 4:25.

Hey there how are you in this video lesson

I'm going to show you how to speak more like a native English speaker

through idioms that are related to

Apples it is

Apple season in the United States, and I love apples

But it made me start thinking about all the idioms

We have that are directly related to this very special fruits

So I'd like to share 8 of the top most use most popular most well-known

Idioms that include the word Apple, I'd like to share them with you today

And how you can use them so if that sounds interesting then let's begin

An

Apple a day keeps the doctor away

We know that eating fruits and vegetables are healthy so that's what this idiom implies

Is that if you eat an apple every day?

Then you will remain healthy an apple a day keeps the doctor away and it rhymes

Too you are the apple of my eye

So this means that I adore you. I love you you were wonderful to me. You're the apple of my eye

or

he is the apple of my eye it can be any person number three I

Used to live in the Big Apple. Do you know what city that is?

That's right. It's New York the Big Apple for

Apple pie is so American

There's even an idiom that includes apple pie, which is it's as easy as apple pie?

Now I don't know that apple pie is actually that easy to make but I do know it's easy to eat

So maybe that's where this idiom comes foam as easy as apple pie

We can use an apple to make a comparison when we it's like apples and oranges

Meaning you can't compare these two things for example. Would you rather go on vacation?

Skiing or go to the beach well

They're both fun. But they're very different, so it's like comparing apples and oranges to me

Number six the apple doesn't fall far from the tree

meaning if you think about

family

The Apple is related to the tree, so it's like the child is

Very similar to the parent the apple doesn't fall far from the tree

7 we can talk about a bad or a rotten apple

using an idiom a

rotten apple spoils the batch

so you don't want to be a bad apple or a rotten apple and

Number eight one of my favorite expressions using apples how do you like them apples?

Now this is very

Colloquial it's not correct

Grammatically, but it comes from pop culture a movie called Good Will Hunting

Which I highly recommend if you haven't seen it one of the characters says how do you like them apples?

And it means something that is

unwelcomed

Surprising maybe something you wouldn't like

So the character says well. How do you like that or?

How do you like them apples because it's something like a surprise, so it's funny that he uses the word apples

But why not there's such a common theme in American culture that they've made their way into many many idioms

So I hope that you enjoyed learning eight new idioms that are related to apples and you can now

Understand them and express yourself with them more if you enjoyed it

And you haven't subscribed yet make sure that you do subscribe to go natural English right over there

And if you would like to learn more with me the next step is to get the digital ebook

The English fluency formula click right up there to learn more about it

Thanks so much for watching, and I'll see you next time bye for now

Kailh Box Red Mechanical Keyboard Build : 60% B.face with Acrylic Case - Duration: 14:25.

Top 10 Video Games That Cost More To Make Than Hollywood Blockbusters - Duration: 6:12.

TOP 10 VIDEO GAMES THAT COST MORE THAN HOLLYWOOD BLOCKBUSTERS

Games are expensive to make.

It's easy to see why it's a billion dollar industry, and shouldn't be a surprise to

anyone that some games' budgets rival the likes of massive hollywood blockbusters.

Being of two different mediums, costs come in different forms, but regardless, they produce

high end titles that entertain and compel us.

So with that in mind, let's count down the top 10 video games that cost more than hollywood

blockbusters.

Now there are a few factors to take into account when talking about these games.

There's the development cost, marketing cost, the total cost of those combined, and

what the cost of that would be now with current 2017 inflation in US dollars.

Just a little something to keep in mind.

10 Max Payne 3 With an overall budget of 105 million dollars

that would equate to $110 million with today's inflation, this 2012 Rockstar Studios game

sold 4 million copies within the first year it was released.

The game scored a ton of accolades, too, and was critically acclaimed, despite the release

being pushed back by a few years.

9 APB All Points Bulletin With a total budget of $100 million that now

equates to $110 million, this game developed by Realtime Worlds was suppose to be the GTA

of the 21st century.

Which many thought possible, considering lead game designer David Jones was responsible

for the first grand theft auto.

An open world multiplayer online game, it was released in june 2010, and then was placed

into administration just under two months later, eventually being reactivated when the

K2 company purchased the game and relaunched it.

8 Too Human Developed by Silicon Knights, this 2008 game

for the Xbox 360 had a development cost somewhere between 60-100 million dollars, with the total

cost claimed to be $100 million, with 111 million dollars in inflation.

Too Human was reported to be in 'development hell' for just under 10 years.

Combining science fi futuristic elements with Norse mythology, the game went back and forth

in terms of plot and partnership contracts, jumping from developing the game for the playstation,

then to nintendo, and then microsoft.

The game was released to mediocre reviews, with many critics commenting on how it started

off with an impressive first level, which continuously declined as the game progressed.

7 Grand Theft Auto 4 Another Rockstar game on this list, GTA 4

was projected to be the most expensive video game to ever be produced back in 2008.

Producer Leslie Benzies had estimated that the game would cost approximately $100 million

to create, with over 1000 people working on the title over the course of three and a half

years.

This now equates to over $111 million dollars, and the game sold over 600 thousand copies

within the first say in the UK, breaking records at the time.

6 Destiny With a confirmed development budget of $140

million, it's hard to believe the claims that Activision Blizzard CEO Robert Kotick

initially made about the overall budget being $500 million.

According to Kotick, this $500 million included marketing, packaging, infrastructure support,

royalties and "other costs".

Now, it's important to keep in mind that this estimation is suppose to cover the period

of 10 years that new Destiny content will be released within as opposed to just being

spent on a game with a single release date.

5 Star Wars The Old Republic Another critically acclaimed game on our list

- and definitely not the last - The Old Republic cost quite the pretty penny to make, with

a development budget of $200 million.

And similar to our last number, had additional costs in order to support the MMORPG.

On the record, in terms of the development costs of the game's initial release, we're

looking at a 2017 inflation of $213 million dollars.

4 Final Fantasy VII Released in 1997, the seventh instalment of

the Final Fantasy series received critical acclaim, and by 2005 it had sold over 9.8

million copies.

Not bad for a game that had a development cost of 45 million.

With a marketing cost of 100 mill, the games budget came to 145 million dollars, which

with inflation today comes in at $216 million dollars.

The game was praised for being beyond it's time, with one reviewer saying it was lightyears

ahead of anything else on the playstation console at that time.

3 Star Wars Battlefront 2 While numbers haven't been released concerning

the games' overall development and marketing budgets, we do know that the total cost of

the game is $235 million.

As of the recording of this video, the game has yet to be released, with it dropping world

wide november 17th 2017.

But the game has already gotten a ton of hype, with promises that the flaws some players

had issues with in the first Battlefront have been fixed this time around with the sequel.

2 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 While other lists may disagree with this,

Modern Warfare 2 tends to make the top spot due to the 2017 inflation.

Released in 2009, the game had a budget of 50 million for it's development costs, and

$200 million for it's marketing costs.

Insane.

Making it's total cost $250 mill.

With current inflation, thats $279 million, which surpasses our number one spot by a mere

7 million dollars.

Which, I mean, we're talking millions so thats still kind of a big deal, but still.

Regardless, it's the sixth instalment in the call of duty series, and as of January

2010, the game had made more than $1 billion in revenue, making an estimated $550 million

in the first five days of it's release.

1 Grand Theft Auto V While Modern Warfare 2 technically is the

most expensive game ever made if you consider the current 2017 inflation, technically speaking,

GTA V still cost more at the time of it's creation to develop.

With $137 million in development costs, $128 million in marketing costs, the game had a

total budget of $265 million back in 2013.

Which is inflated now to $272 million, just a few mill short of what the inflation was

for Modern Warfare 2 - which is due to the time difference, in case you're wondering.

Anyway, GTA V has been the most commercially successful game to date, making over $800

million worldwide within it's first 24 of release, surpassing a billion dollars after

three days of it's release.

And thats not even including the awards its raked up either.

Trump Admin's Anti Environment Agenda Will Cost Us $34 Billion A Year In Health Costs - Duration: 5:44.

On October 10th, EPA administrator Scott Pruitt decided that the United States has had enough

of clean air, good environmental regulations that help protect the health and safety of

our environment and the American public.

So Scott Pruitt on October 10th decided he was going to repeal President Obama's clean

power rule that regulated the emissions that could come out of coal-fired power plants.

Now, while making this decision, Pruitt said that the war on coal is over.

We're going to start embracing these dirty fossil fuels that have been fueling the country

for a couple hundred years, ignoring the fact that new and cheaper and cleaner alternatives

are readily available and growing at an increasingly rapid rate.

Instead, Scott Pruitt wants to take us back to the 1800s, 1700s and say we're still gonna

burn coal just like our great-great-great-great-great grandfathers did, because that's where our

thinking is today.

That's how backwards we are.

But here's something Scott Pruitt didn't tell the American public when he signed the repeal

order for Obama's clean power plan.

It's gonna cost the United States upwards of $34 billion per year in additional health-related

costs as a result of the repeal of this rule from the Obama administration.

That's how much experts are estimating it's going to cost us due to the coming increase

in air pollution that we're going to see.

We're talking about hundreds of thousands of people across the country suffering from

new and worsening respiratory illnesses, 300 thousand, excuse me is the number of days

off per year we're going to see according to the experts, based on the repeal of this

law.

$14 billion and $34 billion is the range in which we're going to see a decline in economic

activity as a result of the repeal of this rule.

So, even on the low end, at $14 billion extra that we're all going to have to pay as taxpayers

each year for rising health costs, is it worth it?

Is it worth it to allow coal companies to not mitigate how much carbon pollution they're

spewing into our atmosphere?

Is that worth it?

The additional deaths each year, from people breathing dirty air?

The additional cases of asthma developing in children or senior citizens dying from

pollution?

Is that worth it?

$14 billion, maybe even $34 billion on the high end?

The answer is absolutely not, and you'd have to be a complete psychopath to think, "You

know what, that sounds reasonable.

I'm okay with the pollution; that's a decent enough price."

No, again folks, we're still basically powering this country with the same kind of fossil

fuels that we used to power this country when it was founded.

Of all of the things in this country that have evolved and gotten better and made these

technological advances since the country was founded, our energy supply, for some reason,

really hasn't.

We're still burning coal.

They were burning coal in the 1600s before we even came over to this country and founded

it.

This is absolutely obscene at this point.

We know that people will die as a result of Scott Pruitt and the Trump administration

repealing this law.

We know it's going to cost us no less than $14 billion a year as a result of Pruitt and

the Trump administration repealing this law.

So why?

Why do we continue to put these climate-change denying, science-denying, reality-denying

people into office?

It's not because they're looking out for us; it's because they're looking out for corporations,

and those corporations are those the ones that continue to fund their campaigns, at

our expense.

Because these people who run these companies, they don't live in the same areas as their

factories.

They're not the ones with homes near polluted streams or rivers or polluted airways.

They're in those gated communities, where they don't have to worry about the pollution

they're spewing out.

Not to mention the fact that most of them are old enough to where they're not going

to be around when we start to see the real devastating effects of climate change, even

though we're seeing a lot of those today with California being on fire and these increasingly

frequent and intense hurricanes forming in the Atlantic Ocean.

But yeah, let's go ahead and let corporations like coal plants spew as much carbon into

the atmosphere as they want.

Because we're the ones who are gonna have to pay the price regardless, why put the burden

on those poor power companies?

Or at least, that's gotta be the thinking going on inside of Scott Pruitt's demented

little brain if he thinks that it's a better idea to screw over the American public and

let coal companies do whatever the hell they want, as opposed to just leaving one simple

rule intact that wasn't even costing these coal companies that much money.

But you know what it was doing?

It was helping everybody in this country breathe a little bit easier.

But thanks to Scott Pruitt, we won't have to worry about that anymore.

The Triangle Midsegment Theorem - Duration: 3:08.

Professor Dave again, let's talk about midsegments.

We just looked at all kinds of bisectors and other lines that pertain to triangles, so

let's learn just one more type.

A midsegment of a triangle is a line segment that joins the midpoints of two sides of the

triangle.

Every triangle will therefore have precisely three midsegments, and these three line segments

form another triangle, the midsegment triangle.

Since the vertices of the midsegment triangle are the midpoints of these sides, we can know

that the segments on either side of a midpoint are equal to one another.

This is signified by these tick marks, one line here and one line here means these are

the same.

Two lines here and two lines here means these are the same as each other, but not necessarily

the same as the segments with one tick mark.

Three tick marks, same idea.

Furthermore, the triangle midsegment theorem states that any midsegment of a triangle is

parallel to one of the sides of the triangle and is also precisely half the length of that

side.

So here we can see one midsegment and the side of the triangle that it is parallel to.

The midsegment is half the length of the side, and since the side is split up into two equal

sections, the midsegment is equal to both of these two sections.

We can say the same thing for the other two midsegments and their corresponding parallel

sides.

This allows us to draw all kinds of figures like this one, where some lengths are given

and others can be determined.

If we know the length of this midsegment, we know this side length.

If we know this other side length, then we know the length of this other midsegment.

There's plenty of algebra we can do with this theorem, so let's check comprehension.

Life in Medical School: RESIDENCY INTERVIEW! - Duration: 12:09.

This video is made possible by care/of.

Hey everyone!

Good evening!

It is Monday night and it is officially interview season.

I have two interviews coming up this week.

One is gonna be at my home institution and the second on Thursday is going to be at a

different hospital... it's going to be in Brooklyn.

I've been just kinda thinking about all the interview questions and how to prep for them

and I thought I might make a vlog out of it so I wanted to bring you guys along the journey

and let you guys know how I'm prepping and what I'm gonna be wearing and things like

that.

So in terms of how I'm prepping.

I sort of looked at the questions that are floating around online.

Some of the common questions that they ask in residency interviews.

And you can find the list pretty easily.

The question of whether these questions will actually be asked will really depend on the

program.

And you know, it's impossible to be perfectly prepared going into an interview.

I think there is always a component of the unexpected and something that you really didn't

prepare for but I think the ultimate goal of these interviews, at least for residencies

and probably for medical school as well is for the programs to get to know you.

And not just get to know you but get to know beyond the numbers say in your applications

and what your CV says or what your resume says.

I think, in my opinion, I think that is the main purpose of these interviews.

So I'm kinda going into it with the attitude of I just want them to get to know who I am

as a person.

I think that takes a lot of the pressure off of this whole process.

It's always helpful to go through this process with a friend.

So I am pairing with my friend Dania, who is also going into Emergency Medicine.

So we're sort of bouncing questions off of each other and trying to prepare together.

That way you don't feel so alone.

So that's today for me.

In terms of outfits.

I have really just one outfit.

I really just wanted to find one outfit that works and just stick with it and not try to

experiment too much.

If you guys look at my closet, I really have like really neutral, similar color shirts.

Here are all my whites, I have the stripes, whites, beige, and some of the blushed pink,

light blue slash light grey, this is a rare color, navy and black.

That's really how I prefer my tops to be: neutral.

So I don't really have to think about it that much.

And when it comes to bottoms.

I really just have dark color pants.

That's just my personal preference.

I think when it comes to interview outfits.

There are many opportunities in life to stand out with your clothes and make a statement

about who you are with fashion.

I think the interview is not the time to do that.

At least my personal opinion is to not be recognized by your clothes at the interview.

Because if someone remembers you by your clothes, they're not thinking about all the great things

that you said about yourself and your experiences in your CV.

So I think, at least for medical school and for residency interviews, it's perfectly fine

to just blend in and wear that black suit or that navy suit and have it be totally unimpressive.

I think that's the safe way to go, to be honest.

So I'm gonna be wearing....may be I'll show you guys wearing it.

So this is outfit number 1 or what I'm thinking about wearing.

With a black pencil shirt and it's long enough to come a little below my knees.

It could probably be at my knees and still be okay.

I'm more comfortable with slightly longer lengths.

And this is just a blazer not a set.

I think the problem with this outfit actually is that this skirt is on the longer side and

the blazer is on the longer side so I don't think that it quite looks like suit.

I think it just kinda looks like I'm wearing a longer blazer over a blouse and a shirt.

So I think I'm gonna try on outfit number 2.

So this is outfit number 2.

And I think I feel much comfortable in this outfit.

I'm wearing basically ankle pants I think they're from Anne Taylor and the same blazer

and the same blouse.

The blouse is from J. Crew from a while ago and I think the blazer is from Calvin Klein,

which is also from a while ago.

I do feel more comfortable in a pant suit than a skirt.

And I think the longer length of the blazer still works.

So I think this outfit is the one that I'm going to go with.

This is actually the same outfit that I wore for the interview that I had during my away

rotation in August.

I think it works.

If I want to switch it up, I'll probably wear a different blouse.

I would probably stick with something neutral like light grey, or light pink, or beige or

something like that.

This is going to be my outfit tomorrow.

Alright, so I'm gonna continue prepping for my interview questions and I will check in

with you guys a little later.

Hey guys so it's about 10:30 or 10:40 right now.

And I just finished preparing for my interview tomorrow.

I think I'm going to bed soon.

The best thing I can do right now even though I'm really nervous about it is for me to just

get a good night's sleep and wake up early enough, get ready, and get to my interview

on time.

So I'm gonna head to bed.

I'll check in with you guys tomorrow morning if I have time if not, I'll check in with

you guys tomorrow after my interview.

I think that it went pretty well.

I had an answer for all the questions and I think that's really all you can hope for.

In my head I was imagining a time where they'd ask me a question and I literally have nothing

to say and my mind would go blank and that was kind of my fear/fear situation.

But that didn't happen.

So that's good.

I'm really happy that that's done and that it's behind me and it's just one of the interviews

that I can cross off my list.

And then I can just go on and focus on my other interviews that are coming up.

So I just got home.

I'm gonna change.

I'm gonna...

I think what I'm gonna do, I'm gonna print out a calendar of all my interviews that are

coming up because there is a bunch that's coming up in the next month or so.

So I wanna have like a physical calendar with me so that I get new interview invitation

I can know exactly what days I'm free.

I think I'm gonna do that.

Then I might take a nap cause it was kind of mentally draining to answer questions and

have everyone evaluate you the whole day.

I'm gonna take a nap and maybe do some other stuff.

Maybe prep for my interview that's coming in two days.

So that's what I'm gonna be doing for the rest of the day.

Okay so this is what I ended up doing.

So I printed out my google calendar so that I can keep track of all my interview dates.

What ends up happening is you get your interview invites from your e-mail and a lot of the

times, I'm either at the hospital or doing something else.

So I open the e-mail, because these residency interviews tend to be very competitive, you

have to sign up for an interview date right away.

Otherwise they can run out of space and you have to be on the waitlist.

Something that ends up happening is you're on your phone and you're checking the calendar

of when you're free or when you're not free.

You end up kind of switching between the two apps back and forth so you're checking your

calendar but you're also checking the interview dates that are offered so doing that can kind

of waste your time.

I decided that the best way to do is to print out an actual physical calendar.

So of course everything is on my Gmail.

So I printed out my Gmail calendar for the month of October, November and December.

So that I can have it with me at all times.

So when an interview invite comes in, I can quickly take a look and see what dates are

free and I can sign up for the interview.

I don't remember having to do this for medical school interviews because I think they offer

you a date (I think) I don't think you have to sign up for available spots.

Maybe it's changed since last time I applied to med school.

For residency interviews, those spots get filled up really, really fast.

I know I'm on at least one wait list to find an interview date.

So I have to act fast.

So I think these paper calendars will come in really handy.

You can also use a physical monthly calendar.

I think for this purpose, a monthly view is like the best view of your month, rather than

a weekly view which is what I normally prefer.

So that's what I've been working on.

Kind of getting my schedule together, making sure all the interview dates are solid and

confirmed.

And I'm also read a little about the program that I'm gonna be interviewing at on Thursday

so that was my day.

So let me know if you guys find this whole interview process interesting.

I know that as I go further into my medical training, I know that a lot of you aren't

even studying medicine or aren't really interested in doing that so I don't know if this is interesting

or useful or applicable to a lot of you but if you guys find it interesting, I can try

to film more of these throughout my interview dates that are coming up for the next couple

months.

So let me know what you guys wanna see and if you guys have any questions about the whole

process and I will try to address those questions as best as I can.

Before I finish the video, I wanna thank care/of for sponsoring this video.

Care/of is a supplement company and they deliver daily vitamins to your home.

Something that I really like about their website is that they actually list all the research

that is related to the supplements they recommend.

For example, they have categories mixed research, emerging research--meaning there is not enough,

strong research or very strong research or traditionally used, meaning that these supplements

have been used in different cultures for a long time.

So something established like Vitamin B12 has strong research.

It actually tells you how much many number of strong studies or whether the supplement

has double blind placebo studies as well.

So for my personal packet which looks like this.

It says Jamie and you can see the supplements behind.

I have a few things, Vitamin D, Rhodiola and evening primrose, and astaxanthin.

So for example, something like Vitamin D has very strong research and it's supposed to

support strong bones.

And Astaxanthin, which wasn't recommended to me but I was curious about trying it out

so that's why it's in my packet.

So you can definitely pick all the supplements that are recommended to you based on your

questionnaire but if you read about other products and you're curious, you can also

add that to your packet as well.

So as you can see it comes in an individual packed like this and it actually the whole

box is shipped and this is my whole months supply of vitamins and you can just take one

from here, when you're on the go.

That is something I would personally do in the morning.

If I'm really busy and on the go, I would just take one out and keep it with me and

then either take it when I'm driving to the hospital or when I actually get to the hospital

when I have a chance to sit down and have some breakfast.

So super convenient.

This packaging is really neat, I like that you can just take it with you on the go and

you don't have to have to all those bottles and you don't have to remember to take them

everyday cause it's already all ready for you.

So if you're interested in trying out care/of, I have a special offer for you guys.

You guys can go to takecareof.com and use the code "strivetofit" to get 50% off your

first month of supplements.

Again, that is takecareof.com and the code is "strivetofit" So I'm gonna close the vlog

here.

Thank you guys so much for watching the vlog.

I hope you guys enjoyed it.

Let me know if you guys are interested in seeing more of my interview process and I

will try to film more of it in the next couple months.

Thank you guys again for watching and I will see you guys in the next video.

Celeb Partners We Know Almost Nothing About - Duration: 4:24.

It's become harder and harder for celebrities to sneak anything past the press.

Still, some of the biggest names in show business have actually managed to keep their personal

lives surprisingly private, including what we know about their better halves.

Here are some celebrities married to people who remain a mystery to the public.

Christian Bale

What's there to know about Christian Bale's wife of 16 years, Sibi Blazic?

Not a whole lot.

According to the Daily Mail, Blazic met her future husband while she was working as a

personal assistant for actress Winona Ryder in 2000.

Blazic and Bale quietly eloped to Las Vegas that same year, and about five years later,

they welcomed their first of two children.

During the 2011 award season, while Bale was on his way to winning an Oscar for The Fighter,

he gave a personal shoutout to Blazic for standing by him through so many intense roles:

"I know that it truly would be impossible to do it without her.

She's such a good, strong woman."

Speaking of strong: in a 2014 interview with The Wall Street Journal, Bale let it slip

that Blazic was actually a stunt driver on the set of The Dark Knight Rises, and she

drove one of the cop cars chasing Batman.

Jeff Bridges

Although actor Jeff Bridges has been married to his wife, Susan Geston, for some four decades,

he's largely managed to shield their relationship from the spotlight.

But we do know they met in Montana in 1975 while Bridges was filming a movie and Geston,

a North Dakota native, was working as a waitress.

"I was head over heels the first time I saw her, you know."

Bridges told Reader's Digest that he credits Geston for his long, wildly successful career:

"In the 28 years we've been married, we've done 50 movies together.

I say 'we' because Sue deserves a credit too.

I'm the guy who makes the buck, but she's the one who takes care of everything else.

I really am more in love with her than ever."

Reese Witherspoon

For a good chunk of 2013, Reese Witherspoon's husband, Jim Toth, was known primarily for

an embarrassing incident in which he and his wife were arrested on charges of driving under

the influence and disorderly conduct in Atlanta.

Despite the awkward incident, Toth is well-respected in Hollywood as a talent agent at the famous

Creative Artists Agency in Los Angeles.

He has represented big names such as Matthew McConaughey, Scarlett Johansson, and Robert

Downey Jr.

Adele

Singer Adele is fiercely protective of her private life, so it makes sense that the public

doesn't know a whole lot about her husband, Simon Konecki.

Here's what we do know: According to People, Konecki got his start in finance at a young

age, but left the biz to co-found Life Water.

He reportedly divorced his first wife in 2008, met the Grammy-winning singer in 2011, and

by October 2012, they had welcomed their son, Angelo.

Speaking to Vanity Fair in October 2016, the superstar had only glowing things to say about

her beau, describing him as "confident" and "perfect."

Anne Hathaway

Considering her last boyfriend was sentenced to prison on a number of finance-related federal

charges, it makes sense that Oscar-winner Anne Hathaway found love a second time with

a much more low-profile dude.

In 2008, she began dating crushworthy New York native Adam Shulman.

"I had such a crush on my boyfriend before we went out."

According to People, Shulman splits his time between acting and designing jewelry.

He's the co-founder of James Banks Design and reportedly helped design Hathaway's engagement

ring.

The two were married in 2012.

Julia Roberts

During the peak of her fame, Julia Roberts' love life was catnip for the tabloids — remember

her bizarre marriage to country singer Lyle Lovett?

These days, she's enjoying a much quieter and more private life with her cinematographer

husband Danny Moder, whom she reportedly met while working on the 2000 film The Mexican.

Speaking to Harper's Bazaar UK in September 2017, Roberts confessed that meeting Moder

and becoming a mother to their three children changed her life for the better: "When I think

about what makes my life my life, and makes sense and just shine inside of me, it's him."

Matt Damon

Although she's very supportive of her husband on the red carpet, Matt Damon's wife, Lucy

Barroso, is a very private person.

As of the making of this video, Barroso has never given a sit-down interview to the press

about her life or super-famous marriage, making it difficult for the public to learn anything

about her.

Here's what we do know: Barroso met Damon in 2003 while he was filming Stuck on You

in Miami and Barroso was bartending at a local joint.

They married in 2005, and now have three daughters together, plus a fourth from Barroso's previous

marriage.

"I think I just got lucky.

I married, y'know, the right person, and I'm happy."
