Hey guys, salut mes amis och hallå gubbar, Maxim here.

There's a new Windows 10 update called the fall creators update, you can get it through

the link in the video description if you want to get it manually, but it's also available

if you search for updates on your computer.

Most people using Windows 10 might actually have it installed already if they've allowed

the system to do updates automaitcally.

But basically what you do is follow the instructions, and let the update run.

When the udpate is ready you will need to restart your PC.

After I restarted my PC I noticed that Shadowplay wasn't on so I opened Geforce Experience to

check what was going on and it wanted me to update the software.

However, I was not able to do much from here.

I needed new video drivers because I had a new version of Windows 10.

So the next step for me was to download the latest video driver for my graphics card,

restart the PC again, and now I have a clean installation of the latest version of Geforce

Experience and the video drivers.

Now to the thing that you probably care about most, how did it affect CS:GO?

To check my FPS I used a map from uLLeticaL called FPS Benchmark.

This is one of the better and simpler ways of checking your average FPS.

If you wanna do it yourself, go to the link in the video description, make sure you're

online on Steam and subscribe to the map.

You will then find it in the workshop section.

I ran the map a couple times and saved the last two instances from both before and after

the changes.

These where my end results before and this is now.

Now even though I have a high-end PC, I still got almost exactly 30 more FPS, and it seems

that I'm not the only one.

Here's another image made by mizendacat, showing a similar FPS boost as well.

He also wrote however, that the windows update increased his GPU-limited performance but

the CPU-limited performance had unfortunately no effect.

And apparently the windows update also fixes raw input if you want to disable it for some reason.

Having raw input on basically means that it won't use the operating systems mouse settings.

I have m_rawinput set to 1 and I can highly recommend that value.

But I still wanna know if the FPS boost worked for you so make sure you leave a comment down below.

After I restarted my PC I noticed that Shadowplay wasn't on so I opened Geforce Experience to

check what was going on and it wanted me to update the software.

However, I was not able to do much from here.

I needed new video drivers because I had a new version of Windows 10.

So the next step for me was to download the latest video driver for my graphics card,

restart the PC again, and now I have a clean installation of the latest version of Geforce

Experience and the video drivers.

Now to the thing that you probably care about most, how did it affect CS:GO?

To check my FPS I used a map from uLLeticaL called FPS Benchmark.

This is one of the better and simpler ways of checking your average FPS.

If you wanna do it yourself, go to the link in the video description, make sure you're

online on Steam and subscribe to the map.

You will then find it in the workshop section.

I ran the map a couple times and saved the last two instances from both before and after

the changes.

These where my end results before and this is now.

Now even though I have a high-end PC, I still got almost exactly 30 more FPS, and it seems

that I'm not the only one.

Here's another image made by mizendacat, showing a similar FPS boost as well.

He also wrote however, that the windows update increased his GPU-limited performance but

the CPU-limited performance had unfortunately no effect.

And apparently the windows update also fixes raw input if you want to disable it for some reason.

Having raw input on basically means that it won't use the operating systems mouse settings.

I have m_rawinput set to 1 and I can highly recommend that value.

8 Rules You Need To Follow For Weight Loss

Many people struggle to lose weight, although it isn't that hard if you put your heart

and mind into it.

There might be a million articles on internet which give "tips" to lose weight, but

do you know there are some simple rules you need to follow for having weight loss?

You might have seen people losing weight and then wondered, "When would that be me?"

Don't worry, here are the guidelines you must go by, to achieve a healthy weight for

yourself.

Rule No.1 – Eat Lesser Amount Of Calories.

Start counting the calories that you are taking.

You should take about 500 calories lesser than what you consume in your daily activity.

For an average person, it is said that they should eat about 1200 to 1500 calories a day,

depending on the level of exercise they do.

Even if you have a slow metabolism, taking lesser calories would show results within

two weeks.

Rule No.2 – Scales Don't Always Tell The Truth.

When you start working out, it doesn't mean that a lot of weight would bounce off the

scale right away.

Rather, you would start noticing change in your looks.

Your muscles would start toning.

It is because the weight shifts to the parts of the body that makes you look good.

Stand in front of the mirror and notice how your arms are toning and your face muscles

have lighten, even though the weight might be almost same on the scale.

Rule No.3 – Weight Training Is Necessary.

If you want lean muscles, weight training is what you must adopt.

You can't rely on cardio to get that perfect body shape, even though you will get lighter

body.

Make yourself sweat in the gym and follow the instructions of your trainer and don't

shy away from using weights.

Rule No.4 – Morning Exercises Work Best.

If you work out on an empty stomach, early in the morning, it would bring results pretty

quickly.

Glycogen is consumed throughout the night and in the morning, only fat is consumed for

having energy.

You can also let your muscles recover the rest of the day by following the usual routine.

If you don't have time, spare out at least 10 minutes for aerobic activities.

Rule No.5 – Have Small Meals.

Cut the portions from your plate and it would help you lose weight.

You don't want to slow down your metabolism and thus, you should have food 4-5 times throughout

the day, but a lot less in quantity.

Smaller portions of healthy meals would include proteins, carbohydrates and fats and it would

be a perfect balance to keep your insulin levels at normal.

Rule No.6 – Drink Lots Of Water.

Internet is not lying when it asks you to drink 8-10 glasses of water in a day.

Water will make you feel fuller and also improve your metabolism, which in turn paces up the

weight loss.

You can download water drinking reminder apps and thus, have enough water throughout the

day.

Any other drink will have calories and thus, only water is the best suited drink.

Rule No.7 – Choose Your Meals, Before You Eat Them.

You can decide what you will eat at your lunch hour or snack time, before you go ahead and

buy some junk food from the closest outlet.

If you have menu planned in head, it is more likely that you won't pick up any other

food.

Rule No.8 – Go To Bed Early.

Have dinner at least three hours before you go to bed and have at-least seven to nine

hours of sleep.

Otherwise, your body induces the hormones which help in storing the fat cells, which

you obviously don't want!!

Birmingham symposium spreads best practice in science outreach - Duration: 2:35.

This is INTERACT. It's a symposium on outreach and public engagement, and

essentially sharing best practice in outreach in public engagement. We've got

to a point in time where a lot of people are doing activities, and I think our

messages now have to change from "get out there and do something" to "let's get out

there and do something that's amazing and, kind of, something that is really

truly impactful", so this conference is all about sharing that best learning of

stuff that has happened over the last few years, and actually trying to elevate

outreach and public engagement in physics in the UK.

The Institute of Physics is a membership organisation; we're really, really, really

big on community engagement – across all sorts of people – so we were really

looking for our community to put forward suggestions as to the sessions that they

wanted to see here today. We've got headliners in public engagement – got Jim

al-Khalili here, and Alice Roberts, talking about their experiences.

When I first started public engagement it wasn't seen as a respectable thing to do.

But I look at the audience here at this INTERACT symposium and it's everything

from undergraduate students, to PhD students, to postdocs, there's school

teachers, there's senior academics, and that the whole atmosphere about the

importance of public engagement, to an academic, has changed in the time that

I've been involved in it. I found today really interesting coming together with,

sort of, likeminded people to talk about physics outreach and STEM outreach more

widely. It's something I've been involved with for the last couple of years and

it's something I'm very passionate about, so sitting in rooms with very, very

passionate people has been a really exceptional experience.

The more active scientists there are who communicate what they do, the better. I

always say: what is the point of learning something new about how the world works

if you don't then want to go and shout about it to anyone who'll listen?

And I think days like today highlight the importance of more and more active

researchers getting involved in communicating their science.

Getting diagnosed with HIV or AIDS is devastating.

But perhaps even more heartbreaking than the diagnosis itself is the way others treat you

once they find out you have it.

Many victims sadly reveal that after they received their diagnosis, no one would hug

them or even touch them anymore.

While HIV isn't the death sentence it once was and the stigma surrounding HIV and AIDS

has lessened, there are still a lot of fears, misconceptions, and prejudices surrounding

the terrible diseases.

Sadly, because of the stigmas, the World Health Organization reveals that many people are

reluctant to get tested, tell others their diagnosis, or even take the recommended anti-retroviral

drugs.

This, in turn, furthers the spread of the disease.

That's why one brave man in Finland, Janne Antin, took to the streets with a shocking

sign and a startling request.

"I am HIV-positive," the sign read.

"Touch me!"

When Janne first started the project, the idea was to help break the fear and stigma

surrounding HIV and AIDS.

What he didn't expect, though, was how much the project would end up impacting him.

As he stood next to the sign, eyes closed, on the streets of Helsinki, people were wary

of him.

They eyed him and the sign as they walked by.

Janne began to get dishearted, but then it happened – he felt a tender hand squeeze

his.

Soon after, more people began to come up and touch him.

Some just patted him on the shoulder while others were bolder and gave him a quick hug.

Eventually, some held him in a warm embrace and allowed him to hug them back.

As Janne continued to feel the love and kindness come through the caring hands of these strangers,

their compassion began to stir his heart in incredible ways.

Imagine no one ever wanting to hug you, or even touch you, and then being shown pure

and genuine love.

Janne's one simple act that day had an incredible ripple effect.

His own heart was touched and changed as other's hearts were changed toward him, and a video

of the incredible project has been viewed millions of times, meaning millions of people

have seen his message and many others hearts and minds have been touched and changed as

well.

It is amazing what one simple act can do.

In Janne's case, his courage and vulnerability ended up impacting him in ways he could never

imagine; but they have also gone on to impact millions of others and change the perception

of HIV and AIDS around the globe.

I don't know how it happened, but one day I had a problem.

I didn't want it.

I didn't ask for it.

I really didn't like having a problem, but it was there.

"Why is it here?

What does it want?

What do you do with a problem?" I thought.

I wanted to make it go away.

I shooed it.

I scowled at it.

I tried ignoring it.

But nothing worked.

I started to worry about my problem.

What if it swallows me up?

What if my problem sneaks up and gets me?

What if it takes away all of my things?

I worried a lot.

I worried about what would happen.

I worried about what could happen.

I worried about this and worried about that.

And the more I worried, the bigger my problem became.

I wished it would just disappear.

I tried everything I could to hide from it.

I even found ways to disguise myself.

But it still found me.

And the more I avoided my problem, the more I saw it everywhere.

I thought about it all the time.

I didn't feel good at all.

I couldn't take it anymore.

"This has to stop!"

I declared.

Maybe I was making my problem bigger and scarier than it actually was.

After all, my problem hadn't really swallowed me up or attacked me.

I realized that I had to face it.

So even though I didn't want to, even though I was really afraid, I got ready and I tackled my problem!

When I got face-to-face with it, I discovered something.

My problem wasn't what I thought it was.

I discovered it had something beautiful inside.

My problem held an opportunity!

It was an opportunity for me to learn and to grow.

To be brave.

To do something.

It showed me that it was important to look closely because some opportunities only come once.

So now I see problems differently.

I'm not afraid of them anymore, because I know their secret…

Every problem has an opportunity for something good.

You just have to look for it.

on the left we have Ubuntu 04.10 and on the right we have Ubuntu 10.10.

Both of which use the GNOME 2 desktop environment.

In Ubuntu 04.10 the bar at the top and bottom is white and in Ubuntu 10.10 the bar at the top and bottom is black.

In Ubuntu 10.10 it has the username and power button next to the date and time, in Ubuntu 04.10 it does not.

Ubuntu 10.10 has a software center which Ubuntu 04.10 does not.

Let's compare the skin,

in Ubuntu 04.10 the window boarders are brown,

in Ubuntu 10.10 they are black,

in Ubuntu 04.10 the title is centred,

in Ubuntu 10.10 it is left aligned,

in Ubuntu 04.10 the X, maximize and minimize buttons are on the right, in Ubuntu 10.10 they are on the left,

in Ubuntu 04.10 the X, maximize and minimize buttons are square and in Ubuntu 10.10 they are round.

In Ubuntu 04.10 there are 2 menus in the top left corner; Applications and Computer,

in the Computer menu there are shortcuts to folders, settings and logout options.

In Ubuntu 10.10 there are 3 menus in the top left corner; Applications, Places and System,

In Ubuntu 10.10 there is a workspace switcher in the bottom right corner,

in Ubuntu 16.10 the workspace switcher is disable by default, however if you go into settings there is an option to enable it,

and a workspace button will be added to the launcher.

In Ubuntu 16.10 there is an option to add a show desktop button to the launcher,

in Ubuntu 10.10 there is a show desktop button in the bottom left by default.

In Ubuntu 16.10 there is also an option to make the menus be shown on the application itself rather than at the top and always be shown,

like they are in Ubuntu 10.10.

Let's compare the lock screen.

This is what the lock screen looks like in Ubuntu 10.10 and this is what the lock screen looks like in Ubuntu 16.10.

Let's compare Ubuntu 16.10 released in October 2016 which has the Unity desktop environment with Ubuntu 17.10 released in October 2017 which has the GNOME 3 desktop environment.

In Ubuntu 16.10 there is a launcher down the side, in Ubuntu 17.10 there is also a launcher down the side.
