How To Brine a Turkey Before Roasting ~ Brining Seasoning Thanksgiving Christmas Whole Turkey Recipe - Duration: 4:21.

I'm Tess and welcome to my Thanksgiving video recipe series. Today I'm starting

by brining the turkey. Brining is important for a well-seasoned and the

most delicious turkey. Stay tuned and I will show you how I brine my Thanksgiving

and Christmas turkey. (intro music)

Brining the turkey is a very important and often skipped part of getting the best

and the most tasty turkey possible. you have to prepare ahead. Brining the turkey

will take at least eight hours if not longer.

I brine my turkey overnight. Just a reminder that you'll be able to find

this recipe, the list of ingredients and much more in the show more section below.

I've included links to where you can purchase online some of the ingredients

and equipment that I use in this video recipe. If you have a chance please check

it out.

Before we get started it is very important to note that you will need to

clean all surfaces and kitchen utensils that come in contact with the turkey.

Common-sense and safety first. I removed the turkey from the packaging and

removed the packaged innards from the turkey cavity. I'm going to give the

turkey a good cleaning and bath to remove all the butchering residue and

the impurities. I do this by liberally sprinkling some kosher salt over the

turkey, inside and out, giving it a good rub down and cleaning. Remove any loose

tissue on the inside cavity. Rinse the turkey well with cold water.

Inside the packet you will usually see the neck, heart, liver and gizzard. I keep

these for cooking with the turkey or making broth so I'm going to give these a

good rinse with cold water. I trim off any excess fat on the turkey and make a

fresh cut on both ends.

For the brine I'm starting with a gallon of water in a large pot. In goes a cup

of kosher salt, half a cup of brown sugar and you can

use white granulated sugar, some whole peppercorns, a sliced lemon and this is

optional but I'm throwing in a couple candied ginger pieces. Bringing up to a

boil giving it a couple stirs, removing from the heat and then letting it cool

to room temperature.

I'll be brining my turkey in the sink so I'm washing before and after with a good

strong detergent and bleach and rinsing well. You can brine the turkey in a large

pot, bucket or a cooler. You need at least an inch or two of brine above the turkey.

You want the turkey fully submerged. In goes some water on the bottom, my room

temp brine solution, the turkey, a large bag of ice to start and more water to

cover the turkey. I'm putting a plate on top to keep the turkey fully submerged.

It's nine o'clock at night and brining the turkey overnight is the perfect time.

Covering with a large cutting board. When I get up during the night I will flip

the turkey over and add more ice if needed.

With the magic of osmosis that brine does its magic by transferring the brine

and seasonings into the tissue of the turkey and trapping them inside.

So whatever seasonings you add to the brine it will add some flavor to the turkey meat.

You can use whatever seasonings or flavor profile that you like. All that

moisture will also be trapped and give you a nice moist turkey. I plan to put

the turkey in the oven tomorrow about 10:00 a.m. I'll bring you along tomorrow

when I prep, season and bake the turkey. I think I can already smell it!

And sadly, the left when they are exposed, like Wilson has been by Bill O'Reilly, Sarah

Huckabee Sanders, and General Kelly they tend to get nasty.

They know they can't win an argument on the merits so they take refuge where they

can.

They hide behind whatever they can to avoid accountability for their actions.

Which is what Fredrica did when she accused her critics of racism.

CNN has reported she said General Kelly's nickname for her, "empty barrel" was racist

which it is not.

She even accused the whole White House of vile acts.

"The White House itself is full of white supremacists," she told the New York Times.

But Kelly did call her disgusting behavior out.

As he should have.

He said he was stunned that a member of Congress would to that – politicize our fallen soldiers.

"Let's not let this maybe last thing that is held sacred in our society, a young man,

a young woman going out and giving his or her life for our country, let's try to somehow

keep that sacred," Kelly said.

And for no real political purpose other than to make Trump look bad.

She disgraced herself and put that poor family through enormous pain for her short term political

benefit.

That is what this is about.

Her ego – she even called herself a rock star recently.

Anyone this goofy, this disgraceful, this foolish, this disrespectful deserves a good

nickname.

And she has two.

Sarah called her "all hat no cattle."

Kelly called her, "empty barrel."

And now Trump adds his perfect nickname to the bunch.

Wacky Wilson.

It'ss not bad, not his best but I think it is better than Sarah's or General Kelly's

– more memorable.

"I hope the Fake News Media keeps talking about Wacky Congresswoman Wilson in that she,

as a representative, is killing the Democrat Party!"

MarcoOS v1.0 | A Touchscreen menu for your Arduino - Duration: 2:40.

This is the version 1.0 of the touchscreen menu for Arduino.

It's designed for a 3.5inch touchscreen display and the menus colors and

functions can be completely customized by editing the code. You might have to

use different libraries for your touchscreen display and might need to

recalibrate the touch coordinates to fit your display. We used the ones that

worked for our touchscreen display but you can replace them with your own.

I'll show you some examples you can use for the menus here we have the home menu

where you can have different functions for example on this menu you can use it

as a clock and add the date and temperature and humidity if you want

you'll notice there there's a home icon and if you click on that it will take

you back to the home menu the home icon can be on all of your menus except you

another example you can have is an LED menu which you can assign to an LED

strip and you can assign all these different icons to match your colors

you've also got the option if you want to turn your LED strip off use it to

turn a bulb on or off at a timer and you can add an options button here to change

the brightness of your lights and add a sleep timer you can save these changes

by clicking here and it will save to the Arduino otherwise just click on the back

button and it will take you to the previous screen

they'll also notice an "i" icon which you can add to take you to a different

screen for information another menu you can have another set of small icons to

add things and another menu here with the big buttons and you can change it to

different colors and you can also add a settings menu and you can add credits or

additional information in one of the screens you can find the

download link in the description of this video don't forget to like the video and

Sarah Sanders just shot down the media once again — and they've been crying about

it ever since.

During Friday's, press briefing Sanders got into an argument with a reporter who refused

to accept Gen. John Kelly's condemnation of Rep. Frederica Wilson.

The argument was over Kelly's suggestion that Wilson was obsessed with the creation

of a particular FBI building.

When the reporter claimed that wasn't true, Sanders said, "If you want to go after General

Kelly, that is up to you.

If you want to get into a debate with a four-star Marine general, I think that is something

highly inappropriate."

The media LOST THEIR MINDS over that last statement.

Did she just say we're not allowed to argue against a military official?

They cried.

That's not how democracy works.

But Sanders was RIGHT.

It is inappropriate to go after Kelly in this situation — because he has the FACTS.

According to the Daily Wire, Wilson credited herself with the building's completion in

a self-congratilatory speech.

Speaking about legislation regarding naming of the building, she claimed to tell Paul

Ryan, "Our country needs your help and we have no time to waste!"

After passing the house, she said she personally "dashed it over to the Senate, and put our

Senators on notice."

Sounds a lot like she's taking credit for finishing this building — even as the media

claims she does not.
