What Do Blind People See? How Seeing Can Destroy Your Life - Duration: 6:00.

What do blind people see? Black, complete nothingness. That's what most people

assume vision, or rather lack of vision is like for blind people. Heck, even

people who have 20/20 vision assume people who need glasses, they see without

glasses in a complete blur, but that's not the case. I take off my glasses, it's, it's not blurry it's it's more fuzzy. It feels like your eyes are tired all

the time. But back to the topic at hand, what do blind people see?

One person who have full sight up until the age of 31 then he had a botched

surgery which severed the connection between his eyes and his brain, he

described blindness as not total blackness everyone assumes. He said the

answer, at least in my case, is light. Lots of it, bright, colorful, ever-changing,

often terribly distracting light. He said, "How do I begin to describe it. Right now

I've got a dark brown background with a turquoise luminescence front and center.

Actually it just changed to green. Now it's bright blue with flecks of yellow

and there's some orange threatening to break through and cover the whole lot.

The rest of my vision is taken up by squashed geometric shapes, squiggles and

clouds I couldn't hope to describe enough before they all change again.

Anyway, give it an hour and it'll all be different" when he first went blind and

he started experiencing this he thought it might be a sign that his eyes were

beginning to work again but unfortunately that wasn't it it was just

hearing than we do because because we simply don't need to however there is

mounting evidence that when a person loses their eyesight their brain

actually undergoes an Makeover of sorts the area of the brain devoted to sight

gets put to work on processing other areas a study published in the Journal

of Neuroscience found the people who are born deaf use areas of the brain

typically devoted to processing send to instead process twitch and vision

perhaps more interestingly the researchers found that this neural

reorganization effects him deaf individuals perceive sensory stimuli

making them susceptible to a perceptual illusion that hearing people do not

experience in fact the people who lost their eyesight often have enhanced

auditory abilities brain imaging studies showed visual cortex in the blind is

taken over by other senses such as earring or touch and contributes to

language processing she's wearing flourish okay that's amazing so yeah

they kind of do have superpowers but what if a blind person suddenly gained a

vision well it wouldn't be great if they've been blind their entire life

there are a few stories of people who were born blind but gained sight later

in life it's very rare there's only a small

number of it ever happening say for example if somebody was born with

cataracts and then we had the technology to cure them of it later in life and

when they gained vision it wasn't great it actually destroyed their lives

because they suddenly had this crush of information coming in for example they

couldn't understand why some objects are smaller than others so they might see a

car up close on that far away and be like why is one small and someone would

say well it's small because it's further away that's why it looks smaller these

are small but the ones out there are far away

small faraway but why does something being further away make it smaller you

see blind people couldn't understand perspective perspective is not something

you were born with is something you learned you learned us baby so they may

see birds in the sky high above and try swap them like flies it's interesting to

think that you could live for years as a blind person and suddenly your life is

What's going on guys?!

Today I am sharing with you 10 Minecraft Halloween Skins.

Given the amount of people who wanted to see some Halloween themed videos, I've

decided to put out two in a row!

Yesterday, I released an Optifine Capes video themed with Halloween capes.

Today, I'm sharing with you 10 Halloween Minecraft skins that

I've found or have been sent to me!

There have been some more Halloween themed skins in my previous Trending Skins videos,

including 2 skins in my last video so if you want

to check those out too, feel free!

To start off, we have this skeleton skin.

Well, I should say Skeleton Halloween costume skin.

As you can see, this girl skin is dressed in a skeleton costume which is, of

course, always a classic Halloween costume.

If you think of it, some classic Halloween costumes are to dress up as a pumpkin, maybe

as a scarecrow, and there's always going to be a skeleton costume showing up too.

I found this skin on The Skindex, or MinecraftSkins.com.

It was posted over there by trindoesmc.

I just thought it was a cool skin.

I want to add in some things aside from just pumpkin themed skins into the video so I figured

this was a great skin to start off with!

The next skin was found on PlanetMinecraft and it was created by PlanetMinecraft user

ICantNotBeSalty.

If you want to know the full official name of this skin...

Well, it's OmgLookItsFinallyAnOriginalSkinWouldYouLookAtThat

HALLOWEEN, BABY!

But yeah, um, aside from the Halloween part, I don't think that really describes the skin

so let me explain it to you quickly.

If you don't already know, this skin is based off of the Headless Horseman.

The skin creator actually found a picture off of Google of the Headless Horseman

and based their skin off of that.

I actually think this is a really cool skin and there is a lot of small details within

the skin that make it really come together and look

cool.

As I said while talking about the first skin, I want to add in a bit of a variety of different

types of Halloween themed skins into this video.

So, why not add a skin that's literally from Halloween.

By that, I mean, a skin based off of the movie, Halloween.

So, that's what this is.

This is a Michael Myers skin.

For those who don't know, Michael Myers first appeared in the movie

Halloween which is a horror film, specificially a slasher film.

So why not feature a skin from the movie Halloween in this video?

Plus, I mean, the creepy character of Michael Myers would certainly make for a pretty good

Halloween costume too.

So, like two years ago, I had a video similar to this one.

I'm happy to say that I watched that video back for ideas and I think my content is much

better now than it was then but that's not the point of bringing

up that video.

The point is to mention a skin within that video.

Well, it is this skin.

The Pumpkin King.

Now, this skin has clearly been pretty popular, especially for Halloween.

It has over 16,600 downloads over the 5 years it's been on PlanetMinecraft.

Created by Kefka, this skin has really caught the

attention of a lot of people.

Oh, also, when you take the hat layer off...

Well, it's a bit terrifying if you ask me.

From time to time, people send me things.

I mean, I have a whole series on Optifine Capes that people send me.

In the past, I've had some videos dedicated to skins that

people have sent me.

One of those videos features skins from Noah Hensley.

He decided to send me some more skins that he has created.

Within the bunch of skins he sent me were some Halloween themed skins.

This is one of those skins.

This is the skin that Noah calls a Pumpkin Onesie.

I'm thinking that he created a pumpkin onesie for his usual

Minecraft skin that is his typical skin.

I'm pretty sure the skin looks familiar to me so that's why I say that.

He'll probably let us know in the comments if that's true!

This skin was just jumping on the bandwagon.

I found this skin here on PlanetMinecraft.

It was created by PlanetMinecraft user weepinq.

In the description of the skin, they said, and I quote, "Literally EVERYONE online

has a skin like this one so I'm just gonna jump on the bandwagon" with the little shurgging

face text emoticon at the end of the sentence.

They also said, and I quote, "Also this is probably gonna be the last Halloween skin."

I don't know, I happen to like this skin.

I find that often a lot of girl skins look similar.

I like this one a lot, though.

I really like the mask, and the small details of orange throughout the skin really pulls

the Halloween theme into the skin.

Next up, we have another skin submitted to us by Noah Hensley.

This is the second and final skin that I'll feature from him in this video.

I do have some other videos planned that may feature some of his skins though,

so if you like these make sure to look out in the future for more of his skins.

Just a hint...

Thanksgiving.

This skin is what Noah calls his Formal Pumpkin skin.

This is one that I really like.

I like it because it's a bit different and unique.

Pumpkin themed skins are very much often onesie skins,

or hoodie skins... but this one is a pumpkin themed suit, equipped with a tie.

I just thought it was something a bit different.

I really like it.

We're going to end of the video with 3 skins that are more typical Halloween type skins.

What I mean by that is... from what I've seen trending... skins that people are using

for Halloween this year and what most people will be starting to use.

In other words, that's why these types of skins are trending right now.

You'll probably see some skins similar to this in my Trending Skins videos

or maybe you have already.

But yeah, this one is just a boy skin wearing all black with some bright orange pumpkin

themed designs on his clothing.

He's also wearing a mask.

The orange really stands out against the black of the clothing on this skin.

The third and final girl skin in this video is this skin that was created by SpookKitty

on PlanetMinecraft.

This skin is wearing a nice orange pumpkin themed sweater.

At least, that's what I believe it is.

It could also be one of those pumpkin costumes that so many people wear on Halloween.

You know?

Those pumpkin costumes that are really popular?

You probably know what I'm talking about but everyone from babies to adults wear those

things.

Regardless, I still assume it's a pumpkin sweater and the girl is wearing some orange

pants to go along with the nice orange pumpkin sweater.

I just wanted a reason to talk about those pumpkin costumes, to be honest.

That's why I brought it up on this skin.

I'm not gonna lie about that.

To finish off this video, I wanted to end off with this skin that I found on NameMC.

If this looks familiar, it's because the mask is what I use on my skin.

Well, almost.

The mask I'm using has a black strap, this one has a whiteish greyish strap on it but

that's the only difference.

I wanted to share this with you because, well, it's been

used on 639 known profiles on NameMC.

You can either just use the all black skin with the mask, or you can add the mask to

your skin by editing your skin file.

That's your choice!

I should mention that underneath the mask there does happen to be a white face on top

of the all black skin!

I just thought that was something a bit funny that

I'd point out!

But yeah, here's this popular pumpkin mask that many people, including myself, are using

on their skins!

Cake is going to be our lunch so we're going to be trying the famous Sachertorte (Sacher

Torte).

We're going to the hotel where it originated and we'll be eating at Cafe Zacher Wien (Sacher

Hotel).

And it is a bit of a walk.

So but this is our first time to explore Vienna (Wien) on foot so we're actually quite excited

When we first saw the menu I found it kind of limited but man there is a lot to choose

from in here including savory options as well.

Well it is finally time to dig in.

We've been taking photos and videos of our food for probably the last 10 minutes and

it is all so good.

So I went with the classic I ordered the Sachertorte so if you take a look here it has got a little

chocolate seel letting you know it if the official.

And also this little paper Sacher the original since 1832.

And if I open this they say they make they make this cake fresh every single day and

you can enjoy it in Vienna, Salzburg, Innsbruck or in Graz.

So you can get this cake in 4 different cities.

Yeah, that is pretty cool.

in your palette for a while because you really appreciate the flavors the more they are in

your mouth.

So basically that is an espresso with milk and whipped cream.

Oh la lah.

And it looked a lot nicer when it arrived.

It has just been sitting there for a while.

The cream has kind of like melted.

It looks a little sad at the moment.

I actually haven't even tried it yet so.

It is probably going to be cold coffee.

We've been filming for so long.

Ooh.

Yeah, that coffee yeah it is not hot anymore.

It has been reduced to warm status.

But what I'll say is that it is so rich and frothy that it is not something that you would

need to add sugar to it just tastes really good on its own.

It is not.

It is not as strong as I thought it would be.

I taste more of the cream and the milk.

It is really good.

I think the bitterness of the coffee would be very welcome with all the sugar we've got

happening at the table.

But it is definitely not as bitter as I thought it would be though that is for sure.

Small bowel ischemia & infarction - causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, pathology - Duration: 8:35.

Small bowel refers to the small intestine and infarction is when ischemia, which is

an inadequate blood supply, causes necrosis, or tissue death.

So, a small bowel infarction happens when there's a reduced blood supply to the small

intestine causing parts of the intestinal wall to necrose or die which can be life threatening.

Now, the small intestine is made of several layers.

The innermost layer is the mucosal layer and it's composed of a few of its own layers.

The first layer is the epithelial lining and it faces the lumen; next is the lamina propria,

which is rich with blood and lymph vessels; and finally the muscularis mucosae, which

has smooth muscle.

Deep to this mucosal layer is the submucosal layer, which has connective tissue with proteins

like collagen and elastin, as well as glands, and additional blood vessels.

The submucosal layer also contains the Meissner plexus which is a part of the enteric nervous

system.

Below the submucosal layer is the muscularis propria which is basically two layers of smooth

muscle with the myenteric plexus, another part of the enteric nervous system, sandwiched

between them.

These muscles are particularly important in helping to move food through the bowel.

Finally, there's the serosal layer which is the outermost layer of the small intestines

that faces the abdominal cavity.

The superior mesenteric artery is the main supplier of blood to the small intestine.

Branches of the artery spread through the mesentery - called mesenteric arteries - and

penetrate the serosa layer and travel to the submucosa where they branch further into arterioles.

Because the small intestine has a high demand for oxygen and nutrients to sustain digestion,

it is highly susceptible to tissue injury from ischemia.

To reduce the risk of that happening, the mesenteric arteries branch and reconnect at

points forming collateral circulation.

That's protective because if blood flow is reduced in one pathway, then the tissue

can still receive blood through another pathway.

Once the small intestines have gotten oxygenated blood, that blood leaves through the superior

mesenteric vein.

Small bowel infarction happens when there's a significant decrease in blood flow to the

small intestine.

This reduction in blood flow decreases blood pressure, and can cause an insufficient blood

flow throughout the collateral circulation which initiates ischemic injury in a wide

region of tissue.

At the cellular level, ischemic injury can lead to the production of reactive oxygen

species which can damage DNA, RNA, and proteins in the cell, leading to cell death.

If blood flow returns to the ischemic tissue, it's called reperfusion.

Unfortunately, though, that process can cause further injury - called reperfusion injury.

In reperfusion injury, the influx of oxygen into an already damaged cell can be overwhelming

and can cause even more oxidative stress, which worsens the cell damage.

As damaged cells release reactive oxygen species, it triggers an inflammatory response which

attracts immune cells, like neutrophils.

The immune cells remove dead and damaged cells and release of cytokines, like Tumor necrosis

factor-alpha.

The cytokines cause blood vessels to become more permeable to fluid and more immune cells

- resulting in bowel edema or swelling of the small intestinal wall.

Small bowel ischemia and infarction becomes more severe as the damage extends from just

the mucosal layer, called a mucosal infarct, to all layers, known as a transmural infarction.

Early on bowel ischemia can make the bowels simply not work - resulting in an ileus - where

food lingers and doesn't get pushed along.

Severe damage to the small intestines can also cause a break in the epithelial lining

of the small intestines, allowing bacteria in the lumen to get into the blood vessels

in the wall.

Alternatively, bacteria can completely cross the small intestinal wall and get into the

peritoneal space, and from there get into lymphatics or blood vessels.

Ultimately, if bacteria get into the bloodstream then it can lead to a massive inflammatory

response called sepsis.

In sepsis, blood vessels throughout the body can get leaky, and if enough fluid moves from

the blood vessels into the interstitial space, it can lead to septic shock, which is where

organs throughout the body get insufficient blood.

And this can lead to organ failure and death.

Small bowel ischemia and infarction, can happen due to occlusive and nonocclusive causes.

Occlusive causes are physical blockages that prevent blood flow through the vasculature,

and they usually cause transmural infarcts.

This can happen when a thrombus, a blood clot, forms in the superior mesenteric artery or

vein and causes thrombosis or occlusion of the vasculature; it can also happen when a

thromboembolism, which is a piece of a blood clot that has broken off, travels through

the blood and becomes lodged in the superior mesenteric artery.

Another type of occlusive cause is when something like a tumor, hernias, volvulus--or a twisting

of the bowel--or intussusception-- which is telescoping of the bowel, physically compresses

the vasculature and occludes blood flow.

Nonocclusive causes of small bowel ischemia and infarction are related to systemic decreases

in blood flow, and they usually cause mucosal infarcts.

This can happen in the setting of hypovolemia due to severe hemorrhage or dehydration, or

low cardiac output conditions like after a myocardial infarction.

A classic symptom of small bowel ischemia is severe abdominal pain, even though the

abdomen itself may be soft and easy to press into.

Small bowel infarction usually occurs about twelve hours later and commonly causes vomiting,

and sometimes even bloody diarrhea.

Over time, the abdomen can get distended and bowel sounds can go away as the bowels stop

moving.

In severe cases, when there's sepsis, a person can develop a fever, low blood pressure,

and a fast heart rate and breathing rate to help compensate.

If fluid accumulates in the abdomen, it can cause signs of peritoneal inflammation like

rebound tenderness and guarding.

Early diagnosis of small bowel ischemia and infarction is crucial.

An abdominal CT can show bowel dilation, and bowel wall thickening from edema and inflammation,

as well as intestinal pneumatosis which refers to air in the bowel wall.

CT angiography can help visualize blood flow through the small intestines.

Typically, lab studies are done and these show a high white blood cell count and metabolic

acidosis.

Treatment of small bowel ischemia and infarction is generally aimed at giving enough fluids,

managing pain, and giving antibiotics if needed.

Definitive treatment, though, requires reestablishing blood flow through surgery or by using a thrombolytic

enzyme if a clot is suspected.

Sometimes, surgical resection of infarcted tissue might be needed as well.

Alright, as a quick recap … Small bowel ischemia and infarction can happen when blood

vessels are occluded from something like a blood clot or a nearby tumor, a hernia, a

volvulus, or intussusception.

It can also occur due to a nonocclusive event like low blood pressure throughout the body.

In either situation, the wall of the small intestines can be severely damaged and inflamed.

The result can be anything from an ileus to bacterial peritonitis.

Rapid diagnosis by CT scan, and treatment to reestablish blood flow, are essential to

survival.
