Youtube daily report w Jun 21 2018

Hey there!

Today I'm going to go waaaay outside my wheel house and explain a thing or two about

the stock market.

Specifically I'm going to address the "Trump Bump", the incredible rise in the stock

market since Donald Trump was elected.

You won't learn this reading the Washington Post or the New York Times but there's a

growing sense in some quarters of the US that Trump must be doing OK, because hey, a lot

of people are making money.

The "Trump bump" story is a big part of this.

Well I think it's nuts.

Today I'll explain why.

Now the economy and the stock market are two different things, but they are connected.

They feed back into each other in ways that I could make a very long video failing to

explain.

It's all tremendously complicated.

What we do know is that for the past 100 years or so, the US stock market has been a very

good investment.

The right strategy is to find solid companies buy their stocks, and never sell them no matter

what the market does.

There are tons of people at banks, and hedge funds, and on news channels who are paid a

lot of money to pretend they know a better strategy than that.

They don't.

I covered this last time.

In the long term, the stock market reflects the success of the US economy, more or less.

Outside of a crisis, that's not what matters in the short term.

The most important facet in the performance of financial markets day to day, month to

month and even year to year is confidence.

Things go up when people think they should go up.

They go down when that confidence disappears.

Economic Reality does eventually intrude, but it takes a while.

That's what happened in 2008.

Despite endless evidence saying it wasn't true, everybody was super confident that House

prices would go up forever.

Then one day they weren't.

What matters here is who makes the decision.

For house prices in the 2000s, it really kind of was everybody, or at least a large slice

of the US population that believed something that wasn't true.

For the US stock market it's a much smaller group.

Back before the 2008 crisis, it was estimated that 62% of US citizens were invested in US

equities to some degree.

In 2017, that figure was only 54% which is a shame, because the ride since 2009 has been

one of the most lucrative in history.

The economy has grown slowly and steadily, and the markets have gone steadily up with

only small plateaus here and there.

Between Trump's election in 2016 and January of 2018 however, however, the markets kicked

into overdrive.

Trump's administration will tell you that this because he has somehow magically changed

everything, but that's not it.

It's about confidence.

And it's about the confidence of a much smaller group than 54% of the American people...

That 54% mostly has very small slices, through pensions, or in their retirement accounts.

As with income, wealth is super unequal in this country.

As of 2017, the top 10% had 75% of the wealth in the United States, and a significant portion

of of that wealth is in the Stock Market.

So what do we know about this 10%?

Well with the exception of Oprah, some athletes and entertainers, and some of the younger

slices of Silicon Valley, they generally didn't like Barack Obama.

Was race a part of this?

Absolutely.

The vast majority of the people making decisions in the stock market are still old white men,

and there was a racial element in their lack of confidence in Obama.

But there is more to it than that.

Despite the fact that Obama was the most fiscally conservative president of the 21st century,THAT'S

A REALLY LOW BAR he talked like an old school Jimmy Carter style democrat.

He wasn't quite as enthusiastically bought out by Wall Street as the Clintons were, and

that scared rich people.

Obama was the only non-business fellating president we've had since the 1970s.

To make it worse, Old white man media kept screaming about what a socialist he was, so

old white men put their money and confidence into crap like gold rather than the stock

market.

Very few wealthy people actually like Trump, but they like Republicans, so when he was

elected they decided that the happy days were here again, and jumped back into the markets

in a big way.

The fundamentals hadn't really changed much, but having an old White Republican in power

was enough for the people who actually own most of the stocks.

And this confidence is changing the fundamentals of the US economy.

This isn't fair, and it isn't rational, but we're talking about the US economy here,

which has never been either of those things, and never will be.

Markets are dumb.

But there's another level to this, that may be even more important.

Those old white men who own the stock market are guided by an even smaller class of people.

They are the stock brokers, analysts and business media types that live in New York, and have

made themselves rich pretending to know what the economy is going to do.

They come from everywhere, but a lot of them come from places like Staten Island, Long

Island and Queens.

They grew up in the shadow of the big show in Manhattan, and they've scrapped and strived

to be part of that show for their entire lives.

If they're not from New York, they work to become part of that Fuggedaboutit Wall

Street culture.

These people don't just identify with Donald Trump, they are Donald Trump.

So of course their confidence in the markets is surging.

The "Trump bump" doesn't have much to do with what Trump has done, it has to do

with who he is.

The Trump bump actually ended about a month after he signed his tax cuts into law.

I'm going to go ahead and disagree with Warren Buffet here, and say that I think the

Trump tax cut has already been priced into the market.

That cut is great for businesses, but I don't think the market has much higher to go.

For almost five months now the Dow and the S&P 500 have been failing to reach January's

highs.

Reality is intruding, and I suspect that the Trump Bump is over.

It could be 5-10 years before the next big crash, but I doubt we'll be seeing any more

large gains.

These indicators could easily remain stagnant for a decade...

But what the hell do I know?

I wrote this video two weeks or so ago, and I could already be wrong about this prediction.

If you've been paying attention to this series, you know that nobody knows anything.

Markets are dumb!

Tune in next time when we talk about an even more egregious example of Confidence warping

markets, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Turkish economy...

Many people passing by

Wet bags on their heads

Today is different from yesterday

I don't know why but I feel lonely

I've been busy these days

Maybe because I was exhausted

I looked up to the sky and it was grey

Maybe that's why I'm thinking of you

When it rains

I'm in the memories

That unfold one by one

Getting wet in the rain

I'm standing vacantly

As if you've waited for me

When it rains

Under the same umbrella

Where we were warm

I'm standing in the memory

For a while

With you who were looking at me

- I almost fell in the water - What is that?

Great work, everyone

How to prepare and simmer fava beans | Cumin and mint - Duration: 4:47.

Hello everyone.

Here is how to prepare and simmer fava beans.

Cut off the stem end.

Remove both strings.

Pop the beans out.

Set the empty pods aside...

...and fill a plate with the fava beans.

Pour some olive oil in a pot.

Add onion...

...and fava beans on top.

Put the lid on and keep the fava beans at a very gentle simmer (no water required).

You can make a soup out of the empty pods.

Bring the pods to a boil (with water this time).

Blend and strain.

This is the result.

Cook the fava beans over low heat without water and without stirring.

If necessary, add a ladle or two of soup.

The fava beans are ready.

No water required.

Add chopped mint...

...salt and cumin.

These fava beans go well with potatoes, rice or pasta.

I would suggest cooking pasta in the fava pod soup...

...adding the fava beans on top, as a condiment.

Alternatively, you can make a wonderful starter adding lemon juice or vinegar to the fava beans.

I hope you enjoyed my recipe.

Support my project by making a donation on my Tipeee page, thanks!

The Chemistry of Gold | Real Vision - Duration: 1:24.

All we need is a periodic table and a big red marker pen.

First of all, we can remove all the gases.

Obviously, we can't use things like hydrogen or argon as money.

Next, we can remove elements such as calcium and

sodium, which dissolve in water.

And also anything that reacts with air, whether it corrodes or burst into

flames, neither of which is a suitable thing to keep in your pocket.

This removes 56 elements.

Then, of course, we need to eliminate anything radioactive because well, quite simply, you

don't want your money to kill you.

And perhaps surprisingly, that disqualifies 45 elements.

Now if you've been keeping up, that leaves us with just five so-called precious metals,

gold, silver, rhodium, platinum, and palladium.

Neither rhodium nor palladium were discovered until the 18th century, so that rules them

out as early money.

And the problem with platinum is its melting point of around 3,000 degrees Celsius,

which was far out of reach of mankind's earliest furnaces.

All that leaves us with gold and silver.

And it was these two precious metals, which mankind adopted at both

stores of value and mediums of exchange.

Trump says N. Korea has transfered remains of 200 missing U.S. troops - Duration: 0:59.

President Trump says North Korea has handed over the remains of 200 U.S. troops missing

from the Korean War, though that hasn't been confirmed by military authorities.

Trump was speaking on Wednesday at a campaign-style rally in Minnesota, saying the remains had

been sent back the same day.

The Washington Post reported Wednesday, citing a U.S. official, that more than 250 sets of

remains would be transfered in the next day or two... likely to the U.S. Air Force base

in Osan, south of Seoul.

The official said there would be a ceremony led by the commander of U.S. Forces Korea,

General Vincent Brooks, and then the remains would be sent to a Defense Department lab

in Hawaii for identification.

The remains would be "comingled," according to the official, so if soldiers of other nationalities

are identified, they'll be sent back to their home countries.

The U.S. Department of Defense says.... close to 77-hundred American service members are

still classified as missing in action from the Korean War.

Emma [Kate Beckinsale] | ending scene | EN subs - Duration: 5:59.

What are you thinking of Emma?

No, I do not think this is a good idea at all.

Think of poor Isabella, think of poor Miss Taylor.

- But I love him, father

and he loves me.

- Yes, that may very well be but you much better not get married.

I mean, what would I do if you went from Hartfield?

My dear sir, Emma and I have discussed this

and we have agreed there could be no question of Emma's leaving you,

and we understand you would be much happier here at Hartfield, rather

than removing to Donwell Abbey, therefore --

- Mr. Knightley's offered to come and live here

as long as-- as long as you wish it, Papa.

Isn't that good of him?

But, we see him every day as it is.

Why can we not go on as we did before ?

We see him every day, but we are alone at night.

Papa I have heard that the chicken thieves have returned to the neighborhood.

Not two nights ago they broke into mrs. Weston's poultry house,

and stole all her turkeys.

- Oh..

Would you not be happy knowing mr. knightley were in the house?

Yes, Emma. I believe I would.

[Mr. Martin] Best harvest ever, sir!

Well, I declare.. Knightley invited his tenants. Are we to sit down with hobbledehoys?

These great men can be eccentric, Augusta,

and I believe harvest suppers are traditional.

It might be that eccentricity can go too far.

Knightley!

Ladies and gentlemen, friends, we have been blessed this year again with a good harvest.

I have been blessed in another way too.

By next harvest, I shall be living at Hartfield

though I assure you all I shall still be farming my estate,

and looking after you all.

There will be stability.

There will be continuation.

Though my life is to change, I ask you all to drink to the health of the lady

who has made me the happiest man on earth.

Miss Emma Woodhouse.

[all] Miss Emma Woodhouse.

And, Mr. Knightley!

[all] Mr. Knightley!

Miss Woodhouse, may I have the honor of presenting mr. Robert Martin.

- Delighted, ma'am.

- And, so am I.

I hope you'll both be very happy, and I hope you will come

and visit us soon at Hartfield with your sister of course, and Miss Smith.

Did you see that, mr. E?

Well--

I suppose she always meant to capture Knightley,

if she could.

I hope her pride.. will be contented now.

Oh, Emma, such happiness.

Will you dance with me Emma?

You and I are not so much brother and sister as to make it improper?

Brother and sister? No, indeed.

World Cup: The key trends from the first week, and what they mean for the Socceroos - Duration: 10:29.

World Cup: The key trends from the first week, and what they mean for the Socceroos

   .

After every World Cup, FIFA produces a technical report which offers an in-depth look at the tactics and innovations that teams have implemented through the tournament.

Its a useful exercise because, quite often, a World Cup becomes a historical reference point for how the game looks at that point in time.

The assumption that the World Cup mostly mirrors the complexion of the wider club game is, for the most part, accurate.

This tournament, or at least its first week or so, has proven mostly true to that form but with some pretty crucial variations here and there.

More than just aesthetic points of interest, these variations in tactics and mentality could go a long way to determining the success of many teams in Russia, not least the Socceroos.

So, what have we seen so far?.

Safety first means the press goes missing.

The European club season just gone saw the high, manic press become a feature of some very successful teams.

The ability to win the ball in advantageous positions, or just stifle the opponents ability to pass its way up the field comfortably, proved an incredibly valuable commodity.

But the problem with the high press is that it is an incredibly risky tactic, as anything other than complete cohesion and organisation can result in competent teams moving straight through the scrambled sea of onrushing defenders and into a numerical advantage.

Given coaches only have a few weeks at the most with the national teams before the tournament begins, most teams have taken the safe option and left the press for the winter months.

There has been the odd exception — Morocco was very aggressive off the ball against Portugal, for example — but most teams have been happy to sit deep, which leads us to ….

The counter is king.

A large portion of teams at this World Cup do not want the ball.

Sometimes its because they are more concerned with defence, sometimes its because they have no idea what to do with it, and sometimes its both.

The average ball possession of winning teams at this World Cup is 51 per cent, and down to 49 per cent without Spains massive 78 per cent time in possession against Iran.

If that doesnt sound a particularly low amount, add in Portugal drawing with Spain with 34 per cent and Iceland drawing with Argentina with an incredible 22 per cent of possession, and it seems plenty of teams are finding success without the ball.

So how far can this sort of tactic take a team? Unless a team is really sharp on the counter-attack, like Germany four years ago, probably only so far.

After the first week, Spain has looked the team most comfortable and penetrative in possession, only undone by a freak Cristiano Ronaldo showing.

Croatias midfield play completely sucked the life out of Nigeria with the peerless Luka Modric guiding the ship, but even they struggled to turn that into chances.

Brazil showed signs of effective and confident ball use in its draw with Switzerland, and though they both had problems creating, Belgium and England bossed the ball and managed to win their games too.

Of the counter-attacking pack, Portugal was scintillating at times against Spain and Mexico was brisk, if not completely cohesive, in tearing Germanys defence apart with regularity.

Whether or not a side can counter its way all the way to the Cup is one of the most fascinating elements of this tournament.

First goal wins.

As yet, no team has scored first at this World Cup and lost, and only three have managed to come from behind to draw.

This ties heavily into the previous point — teams are taking leads and completely shutting up shop, asking the opposition to use its creative quality to break down a low block.

And, as mentioned, there arent many teams at this World Cup who can actually do that.

Lionel Messi and Argentina certainly couldnt, and the many stars of France needed outrageous fortune to beat a solid and compact Australia.

Whether this is because teams have become better at defending or worse at attacking is up for debate, but the fact of the matter is you wont see many teams passing their way through loaded defences in Russia.

Cant create? Use the set piece.

Perhaps because destroying has become more fashionable than creating, more than half of the goals at this World Cup — 52 per cent, or 23 of 44 goals scored — have come from set pieces, including penalties.

There have been a high number of penalties, with the VAR playing its part in that, and already more direct free kick goals in Russia than in the entirety of the 2014 World Cup.

As a get out of jail card, its proven pretty handy.

Uruguay has been turgid in possession so far, but is safely through with two wins thanks to two goals from corners.

England was promising with the ball against Tunisia, but still needed a lurking Harry Kane from two corners to get the win there.

Serbia, Iran, Portugal, Japan and Switzerland have all earned points from a timely set play.

In tight games with creativity in open play lacking, the dead ball is having a massive say in Russia.

What does this mean for Australia?.

Well, if Ange Postecoglou had stuck around, his Socceroos team — with its back three and desire to always dominate the ball — would be a real outlier at this tournament, but Bert van Marwijks pragmatic side is much more in line with the general thinking.

It also gives clues as to how the Socceroos next two games could play out, because both Denmark and Peru have been eager to defend and counter despite the attacking talents they boast.

Theres every chance neither Australia or Denmark will want to take the possessional initiative in Samara.

With that in mind, as has so often been the case at this World Cup, the first goal will become crucial.

Scoring first effectively ensures the rest of the game is played on your terms, and immediately forces your opponent out of its defensive comfort zone.

The Socceroos also threatened France from set pieces, and you can bet van Marwijk has looked to work on them further at training.

With Denmark missing its most experienced defender William Kvist, the Socceroos will have hopes of lifting that average even higher.

If the rest of the tournament is anything to go by, Australias next two matches will be tight affairs decided by very fine margins.

Or can the Socceroos buck some of these trends?.

Illustrator 3D Pattern LOGO DESIGN TUTORIAL - Duration: 7:20.

I have three steps in today's Illustrator 3d pattern logo design

tutorial and in the first step we designed the pattern itself and the

second step is how to efficiently make the 3d pattern and finally we add some

neat gradients in the third and final step

what is that people welcome back to Satori graphics the home of graphic

design content right here on YouTube remember that if you want to improve

your graphic design skills and your awareness for business as a designer

subscribe to my channel for weekly graphic design content so the first step

in today's 3d pattern logo design tutorial is to make the pattern itself

this is quite simple so follow along and let's make a neat 3d logo design in

Illustrator press command or control R to open up the rulers and then control a

right click the canvas if you can't see the rulers you then need to drag a guide

on to the page that perfectly lines up with a measurement at the very top of

the rulers what the measurement is doesn't matter too much we're going to

hold down the alt option key and click and drag to duplicate the guide once you

carefully duplicate it over to the side using the measurements at the top then

press command or control D to repeat the process several times over you should

end up with a line of guides like so make sure that you have the stroke

selected in the color palette and then press M for the rectangle tool you can

create a perfect square by holding down shift and then we want to use the middle

of the square to align with the furthest right guide on your screen increase the

stroke weight as something that fits around a third of the gap between two of

your guides as we're now going to make the basis for the pattern of our logo

design it's important that for the next step

you have the scale stroke options turned off in the list rate of preferences

click the square and press command or control C to copy it and then press

command or control F to paste a duplicate exactly in place over the top

by holding down both shift and the alt/option key you can click and drag to

resize the square like so from here you then simply repeat the process of

copying in the new square and then pasting it in place with command or

control F this is going to be the foundation of a 3d pattern in today's

local design tutorial to finish step one we simply need to take the pen tool by

pressing P on your keyboard and then draw a section like so carefully making

a path along the pattern

access a selection tool and highlight the shape then press R for the rotate

tool carefully drag the blue target icon into the center of your pattern click

once and then hold down the alt/option key and click again in the new box that

appears type in 90 degrees and then hit copy press command or control D to

repeat the process two more times and voila you now have the pattern ready to

go into step 2 in today's illustrator 3d pattern logo design tutorial but first

you need to outline the stroke of the lines and then unite them in the

Pathfinder window making everything on one vector shape we want to open up the

perspective grid for the next step in today's logo design tutorial for the 3d

pattern design we want to make one side of the grid have one narrow perspective

you can do this by clicking and dragging the handles of the grid on the far left

like so

then when you're ready resize down your pattern and use the auto option key to

duplicate it over to one side because we're going to need two patterns to make

up the 3d aspect of the Logo design

notice the widget in the top right of my screen if you don't see this on your

screen you can double click the perspective grid tool in the toolbar and

it will open up when you do find it highlight the rights are inside of the

cube which will allow us to apply the pattern to the right-hand side of the

grid take the perspective grid selection tool and simply click and drag the

pattern and place it on your grid then highlight the blue left side of the

widget and do the same thing with a second pattern carefully place onto the

grid and press command or control Z if you make a mistake lastly in this step

just hide the grid like Sarah if you're enjoying today's logo design tutorial

let me know in the comment section below and of course drop a like on the video

in the third and final step in today's 3d pattern logo design tutorial take the

rectangle tool and create a dark background for your design send the

rectangle to the very back of all objects and then lock it down in place

for the right-hand-side shape i added a gold gradient fill to the object

it's a two-tone gradient of yellow almost white in color stretching out to

a dark gold color experiment with the direction of the gradient by changed in

degrees value but I've set the dark tone coming from the bottom right the shape

then on the second half of the 3d pattern logo I use a silver gradient

Special Clip(스페셜클립): MINSEO(민서) _ Is Who (performance ver.) - Duration: 3:40.

It's just not enough to have

It's not enough to give others

The words that make me blamed I might say that

It's true

When you come closer I feel a little bothered

Stop there

I might say the words that may damage myself again

It's true

It's only me Others don't do that

Tell me honestly

Everyone has something lacking

A cup of this one, a cup of them and a spoon of him

I wish I'm mixed with them

I need

Someone of my own who tastes very spicy

I'll wait

My first love who will make me cry

Is who

It's only me Others don't do that

Tell me honestly

Everyone has something lacking

A cup of this one, a cup of them and a spoon of him

I wish I'm mixed with them

That I can't get a grip

So I'm alone

Lower my standard okay okay

Can anyone give me the right answer?

No really is it only me? What's wrong with others?

They pretend not to act like that

They lie by saying what's good is good

I don't like something moderate and not bad

I just want to fall in love

Protein's Role After Weight Loss Surgery - Duration: 5:01.

Proteins roll after weight loss surgery

the importance of protein in the body and diet

Protein is a component of every cell within the human body

It is used to build and repair tissues such as when muscles tear during exercise or following a surgical procedure

Protein is an important component in body structures including bones cartilage

Blood and muscles it plays a necessary role in hormone and enzyme production

Protein is not stored within the body until a later time when it is needed

Thus it is imperative to get an adequate oral intake of protein to meet the body's needs

After weight loss surgery

It is more important than ever to consume adequate amounts in order to avoid symptoms related to deficiency

Amino acids are the building blocks of protein our body produces 13 amino acids yet

There are nine essential amino acids, which we do not naturally produce

Protein sources consumed should be varied to ensure that all of the essential amino acids are incorporated into the diet

See the table below for examples of protein sources

Protein needs after weight loss surgery after weight loss surgery

The body needs protein to promote wound healing

Weight loss procedures reduce the amount of food intake making protein the most important nutrient to consume

Without adequate protein intake unwanted effects can occur

these include

malnutrition anemia muscle loss decreased sex drive

depression fatigue

thinning hair and brittle nails

according to the American Society for metabolic and bariatric

Surgery most patients who have undergone bariatric surgery needs 60 80 grams of protein daily

This amount can vary and is determined by the surgeon

Physician the human body cannot absorb more than 30 grams of protein at a time

So this must be broken up into multiple meals throughout the day?

Protein shakes are often used as a supplement to ensure adequate protein minimal calories is consumed

protein shake protein supplementation with powders

Protein powders are a popular way to ensure adequate protein intake without incurring excess calorie and fat intake

There are several protein sources that the powders are sourced from which are described below

Whey protein comes from milk, it also contains lactose, which can cause issues for those with lactose

Intolerance a common development after weight loss surgery

Whey protein isolate is processed to remove the lactose for easier digestion

It is one of the most commonly used powder supplements with bariatric patients

Casein is also derived from milk

It forms a gel when interacting with stomach acid thus slowing digestion to maintain satiety egg

Protein powder is typically made from egg whites only it contains all 9 essential amino

Acids since the yolks are not used it may not promote fullness as long as other powders

Pea powder is made from the yellow split pea

It contains 8 of the essential amino acids while relatively new and needing more research

It may help reduce blood pressure

Since it is plant-based it is a great options for vegetarians and vegans

Brown rice powder also contains all 9 amino acids, although it is relatively new to the powder market

So there is not much research regarding its satiety factor

preventing boredom and daily protein consumption

Focusing largely on getting enough protein in the diet can get pretty boring after a while

This can make it hard to stay on track with weight loss goals

Varying the protein sources one eats is a good start to preventing boredom

Adding spices sauces or gravies can give new life to some old favorites

Researching new recipes online is another great way to expand your protein options and maintain your interest

Protein shakes can be made with a variety of ingredients to change their flavour

Adding frozen fruit increases the fiber and water content while providing different flavor options

fresh spinach adds nutrients without altering the taste if

consuming a shake in place of a meal yogurt can be added to make it creamier and more filling Greek yogurt has more protein than
