Youtube daily report Dec 27 2016

We're back and we're ready for the next case of the day.

We'll introduce it with this quote

from writer Luis Gabriel Carrillo Navas which says,

<i> "The end may never</i> <i> justify the means</i>

<i> in regards to violating the</i> <i> privacy and confidentiality</i>

<i> of others."</i>

Bring out the litigants.

There are crazy people haunted by their own minds.

But I'm haunted by a crazy person.

When it comes to your children,

there's no such thing as overprotection.

Good afternoon and welcome.

Good afternoon.

Valentina, you're the plaintiff.

You're suing Beatriz.

Tell me who Beatriz is, why you're suing her

and what you demand in order to settle this case.

Beatriz is my mother.

I'm suing her and I demand...

I want to get a restraining order against her.

I don't want her in my life anymore.

I want her as far away from me as possible.

I also demand she give me the part of the inheritance

my grandfather left that belongs to me.

40% of the shares of the company.

I can't stand her anymore.

She wants to control my life.

All the time, everything I do,

She's always there. Always.

-Are you an only child? -Yes.

That's the problem.

That's why I'm here,

so you can make her understand.

That way I'll be able to carry on with my life independently.

You're demanding two things.

You want a restraining order

for as long as she keeps behaving the way she is.

You also want the inheritance that belongs to you,

which is 40% of the shares of a company.

Do you know how much these shares are worth?

Yes. It's incalculable.

It's millions.

It's millions of dollars.

Yes.

What has she been doing that you're asking

for a restraining order against your mother?

Okay.

We're a wealthy family where we come from.

We're from Venezuela.

I had everything in material terms.

But I never had the emotional part,

which is what you need.

There's never been a caring gesture.

I had to work to give you everything.

There was never a kiss before going to bed.

No affection.

When I was 16 I met someone.

I met the love of my life.

I felt affection and what it's like to be understood.

He was my support.

Obviously...

She wasn't too thrilled.

No.

Not at all.

She was always against it.

Our relationship lasted two years.

My boyfriend was poor.

He didn't measure up, according to her.

During those two years, I don't know how,

my mother's bodyguards appeared every time we met.

Simon and me.

We never had the privacy to be together alone in a park.

If I went...

Everything I did was in your best interest.

I know. Let me continue.

If I told her I was going to the movies

but I ended up going to the park,

her bodyguards always found me.

How? I don't know.

I think she found a way.

You were being completely watched.

It was a complete invasion of my life and my privacy.

When I turned 18,

Simon told me that we couldn't be together anymore.

We couldn't continue our relationship.

He said it was our economic differences,

my mother, and who knows what else.

We ended things, unfortunately.

I looked for Simon. I tried finding him.

Nothing.

You never found him?

He disappeared. The earth swallowed him whole.

At that same age, something happened that changed my life.

I was kidnapped.

In Venezuela?

Yes.

It affected my life immensely.

I was traumatized.

I went into a depression.

How long were you kidnapped?

It was hours.

I was found after three hours.

But who found me?

My mom's bodyguards.

I came to the US.

I got a rash in my left hand.

I went to see various doctors.

Dermatologists. I got tests and x-rays.

I have them here.

They found I had a...

Thanks, Roberto.

What did they find?

A microchip. A GPS.

In my hand.

I had no idea how I had it.

They removed it.

It was removed.

I had no idea who I could ask or what to do.

I called my mother and she told me

that she had placed it there so she could find me.

Everything I did was for your well-being.

Mom, please!

How old were you?

It was for your safety.

I never knew.

I found out about it because of the rash.

It almost got to my bone. I could barely move my hand.

I asked her what had happened.

How could she invade my privacy?

She's taking over my life.

She's controlled me all of my 25 years.

She's always done everything.

She's always watched me and monitored me.

Everything.

That's why I'm demanding she give me what's legally mine,

which my grandfather left me.

How old are you?

I'm 25.

You're 25.

Okay.

She didn't tell you you had a GPS when you turned 18 or 21?

Nothing.

I had a right to know when I reached majority of age.

You had a right to emancipate yourself and be free.

She should've told me.

She should've had it removed.

Of course.

At least.

Is your mother still watching you today?

Yes.

When I got the GPS removed,

I think her over protectiveness became worse.

She's always calling. She controls me.

She watches me.

I've made a life of my own.

I live by myself.

I decided to get a part-time job

so I could lead a normal life.

Not the life of a high-class girl.

You don't need to work.

No. I want to live my life.

I want to be me.

I don't want to live in that bubble she's put me in.

Okay. I understand.

Well, Beatriz. How do you respond?

I've come here to ask for your help.

Everything I did was to protect her.

Protect her from what?

She's my only daughter.

But Mrs. Beatriz...

I only have her.

But...

You don't get to decide.

My father built an empire.

That empire belongs to her.

She has to look after everything my father left.

But it's not like that.

You should have asked me what I wanted.

You're looking after her

so she can look after your father's assets?

That was one of the clauses in the will.

Excuse me.

Wait...

What clauses?

Wait.

This can't be.

What does the will say?

Here it is.

Bring it to me, Roberto.

What do you understand about it?

I have rights. I'm an adult.

I demand you give me my money.

That way I can live my life.

Let's see.

<i> "Distribution of shares.</i>

<i> 60% of the shares</i> <i> go to Beatriz."</i>

You own 60%?

Yes.

Valentina owns the other 40%.

<i> "After turning 28 </i>

<i> and after completing her</i> <i> undergraduate studies, </i>

<i> Valentina will become</i> <i> a part of the company</i>

<i>and assume her responsibilities</i> <i> in an apprenticeship </i>

<i>so she can later take her place</i> <i> as CEO of the company."</i>

I don't want the company. I want nothing to do with that.

I want my money so I can get away from all that.

That's the clause your grandfather put there.

That was you!

No.

You made that up. That's a lie.

One moment.

Let's take a short break.

She was 12.

It was during a tonsillitis procedure.

She was 12.

Yes. My father suggested it.

My father worked a lot.

A 12-year-old...

What does that have to do with anything?

He built an empire.

We're in the upper class.

My country was not safe.

You had no right.

Some of my family members were kidnapped.

You've controlled me for 25 years.

That's how you found her when she was kidnapped.

She had the GPS.

Of course.

That's how we found her.

It wasn't the police. It was her bodyguards.

How can you trust the Venezuelan police?

They're corrupt.

It's worse.

That's how we found her.

Why didn't you tell her about the chip when she turned 18?

She was rebellious.

Why rebellious?

Because I fell in love with a guy

who's not from our same social class?

She met a young boy in school.

She told me.

She told me.

He wasn't on our level. He didn't belong with us.

That doesn't matter.

We can't accept that.

Do you have any witnesses?

No.

The producers have a witness. Let's bring him in.

Good afternoon, Simon.

What is he doing here?

Good afternoon.

What have you come to testify?

We were in a relationship when we were younger.

I was happy during those two years

but I was also harassed by this woman's bodyguards.

They threatened me constantly, even though I was a boy.

They threatened to kill my family and me

if I didn't stay away from her.

I had to break up with Valentina.

I was also kidnapped like Valentina when I was 18.

No.

I was kidnapped.

I was beaten up.

I was threatened and my family too.

They took me to a other room with a gun to my head

and told me that I had to do whatever they said.

They made me hit someone twice in the back

and made me scratch their back.

That was me!

Yes, Valentina.

I was hit in the back twice and scratched.

You two can't be together.

I didn't know it was you.

I did it because I didn't know it was you.

I was being threatened.

I was taken away from the room and I heard a shot.

I think someone died.

They uncovered my face and told me to run

or else I'd be caught.

I started running. It was a field someplace.

I heard the police.

I was running and the police caught me

along with someone else who was with me.

He was one of the kidnappers.

I tried to say that I was innocent

but the police made some tests, the guy said it had been me.

I had Valentina's DNA under my fingernails.

Here's proof of my sentence, proof of my incarceration.

Excuse me.

This is all your fault, Mom.

You disappeared because you were in prison.

Yes, ma'am.

To my surprise,

when I got out of prison this woman's bodyguards were there.

Don't deny it!

She did everything to separate us.

You can't be together.

You've ruined my life.

You can't be together.

I didn't look for her and I left the country.

I ran away from all of this.

My family had to move away from the city.

What are you hiding, ma'am?

They can't be together.

-Why? -Why?

I can't say.

Why can't you say?

Beatriz.

Why can't they be together?

I can't say it.

Come here.

-I still love you, Valentina. -I love you too.

I was also one of my father's victims.

I fell in love with Simon's father.

Simon is your son?

Yes.

They're siblings.

Oh my God.

Why so many secrets?

Don't you see?

You've been a victim of a father who didn't care

about anything but his empire and his money.

That's not a life.

I had no other choice.

That's why I protected Valentina.

That's why I planted the GPS. So I could control her.

Your methods were unacceptable.

Unacceptable.

Go back to your podium.

You heard what she said.

I couldn't hear well.

I heard very little.

Please bring in Dr. Misael Gonzalez,

Dr. Madeline Hernandez and Angel Leal, attorney.

I will tell you something that your mother told me.

It's something that'll affect you both.

But you're adults

and I think it's important for both of you to know.

Okay?

Simon.

Yes.

And Valentina, you're siblings.

-That can't be. -What?

You're siblings through your mother.

That can't be.

Mom, what is this?

What is this?

Why did you do this?

What about me?

Your mother was also a victim of her father.

She fell in love with Simon's father.

She's Simon's mother.

Why didn't you tell me?

She should've told me or explained.

When you live with lies and secrets,

protecting money instead of protecting people,

you can do terrible things against those you love the most.

This happens all the time.

Okay.

Dr. Gonzalez, let's talk about inserting a GPS into the skin.

What can happen?

In her case, there were serious consequences.

These "side effects" come with time.

In her case, because it was placed

in her subcutaneous tissue,

once the infection is treated,

there won't be any other complications in the long run.

Perfect.

Apparently, psychological issues don't discern

if you have money or not.

It's the same.

No matter how much money you have, there's trauma.

We've seen a family that's been greatly affected

by someone who isn't here anymore,

but who has left a disaster in his wake.

Yes, there's been trauma.

This woman was a victim, but her case is interesting.

Even though she was a victim and knows the pain and suffering

of being apart from the person you love because of money,

she did it again with her daughter.

All of this could've been prevented.

Telling the truth would've kept people from getting hurt.

That would've broken this vicious circle

that her father created.

She continued it.

Okay.

Let's talk about this 40% that isn't really in a will.

No.

It's an order, but it's not a will.

It's not a will.

If it were a will, do you think it was breaking certain rules?

Yes.

>>SÍ.

Could this be breaking the rule against perpetuities?

Yes, it would.

He said 28 years. Right?

Yes.

The law doesn't recognize a contract or agreement

that can't be enforced within a reasonable amount of time.

Okay.

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

Okay.

My ruling.

First, we don't have to wait until she's 28.

The document your father left is not valid.

Under natural inheritance law she should already have

that money that belongs to her.

I think you should reflect on everything that's happened.

You should take the time you have left to live,

so you can build a loving relationship

with both your children.

Don't you think so?

Yes.

I'll give you the inheritance,

but I won't give you the restraining order.

I think your mother has already realized everything she's done.

I wish you all good luck.

It's final. Case Closed!

Be kind, be careful, get educated,

give respect to get respect, and may God help us!

See you next time! Thanks!

Cordoba: One House, Two Religions - Duration: 3:12.

So this is a stained-glass window....

In a Mosque!

I Love this Place!

This is the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba.

It's one of the oldest Mosques in the world, dating back 1200 years.

Since the Spanish Reconquista 750 years ago it's been under the control of Christians.

The Spanish king who took Cordoba was so overcome with the beauty of the place that he opted

not to knock the whole thing down and build a church on it, which was the standard practice

of the day.

Instead he built a church inside the Mosque.

If you watch this channel with some regularity you'll probably be aware that I'm more

than a bit of a History nerd.

There are a lot of churches in the world, but this, this is my church.

When I visited for the first time last week I just sort of stumbled around in awe.

Over the past few weeks I've been diving deep into some of the nastier bits of modern

Islam.

It's for a project I hope to release early in the coming year.

This trip was a nice reminder that there's a lot more to world religions than a couple

decades of oil-funded hate and horror, and bloody overreaction.

Not to get too sappy, but the beauty of this place reminds me that we're all one people

on this globe of ours.

Today there are vastly more Muslims and Christians working together for a better world than there

are tearing it apart, no matter what Donald Trump or Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi tells you.

This was true of the Spanish Reconquista as well, despite its portrayal in pop culture

and conventional history.

This building is a testament to that cooperation.

Sure somebody was always subjugating someone.

That's just what pre-modern life was.

But Whether it's 8th century Muslim architects using Roman forms to create something new,

or 19th century christian designers copying Caliphate styles, this building embodies the

better side of history.

I'm not generally a fan of Popes, but John Paul II got it mostly right with an inscription

he left here on the 1200th anniversary of the Mosque's construction.

This building offers a great opportunity to show the brotherhood that exists between those

that profess their faith in a single god.

I'd go a lot farther than that, but hey it's a start.

This building reminds me that civilization is about a lot more than war and competition.

As we close a particularly odd year, I thought that was a message worth repeating.

Could this be your gentle way, that you tell me goodbye,

Holding me with only just your arm around my side?

So gently, you took my arm, and said goodbye to me,

I felt as though I might faint, it's all over now.

Now I can never call you my darling love.

Because we never went anywhere alone.

But even now, I'm in love with you.

Here's my true kiss I'm giving, just from me to you.

It will be the last present that I give to you.

Here's my true kiss to you, as I start to leave.

Never forget these moments we have;

Memories of love.

Shapiro fled for Zorbados, with the CBF in close pursuit.

They landed on Mars.

Now, in a Martian cave, Sara and Shapiro are resolving their fate.

Die, Sara! You shall vanish from my sight, forever.

Do you really think you're destined for godhood?

You sound less like God, and more like the Devil.

That's it.

We'll meet again -- when I come to kill you!

Damn you!

Sara!

Shapiro's got guts, coming out unarmed!

Damn you all! I can't die in a place like this!

Shapiro!

You won't escape me, Shapiro!

You told me to die. I'll shove those words down your throat!

Sorry, I need this.

Sara!

Cease fire! Attention: all CBF forces!

Sara has taken an enemy fighter! Cease fire!

What?

But...

Sara's flying an enemy fighter!

Miss Yuki!

That's my report. Everything else was destroyed on Mars.

Enough! This mission was set up to fail.

I accept no blame for abandoning the base on Mars.

Gil Dorom! What are you up to?

I'll pray for your victory, Shapiro.

I'll never forgive them!

I'll follow you into your devil's fortress!

It's gone! As they approached Jupiter, Sara's signal vanished!

What? They couldn't have killed her!

No, judging by her last reading, they haven't reached the base.

They won't spot her in the fighter.

She must have turned it off.

But why?

Perhaps...

Yeah, she's trying to sneak into their base.

Her locator beacon might have tipped them off.

But when it goes back on, it'll signal "mission accomplished".

If it ever goes back on.

Shinobu!

How could she be so stupid?

She... She...

She can't die!

However,

my greatest concern isn't the enemy picking on her beacon.

What do you mean?

It's Shapiro. I don't think the base is her primary target.

I think she's after Shapiro.

I hope this doesn't end in tragedy.

Hurry!

Shapiro's forces finally approached the asteroid base.

But there was no trace of either Gil Dorom, or his troops.

This is Mars Battalion! Asteroid base, please reply!

That's enough!

So, I have to stop the humans with these pitiful troops?

Lord Shapiro, should I contact planet Zorbados?

Emperor Zorbados --

No!

Very well. I accept this challenge.

But once I've finally defeated these human foes,

Zorbados shall feel my wrath!

They shall regret mocking a god-to-be,

once I reduce them to dust!

Welcome home, Shapiro.

I'll enjoy watching your final act.

Emperor Zorbados gave the order long ago.

"Destroy the Earthlings."

I'm afraid I'll have to spill your prideful human blood.

Understand, Shapiro?

The Emperor commands you humans to die on each other's swords.

So, this is the asteroid base.

Even though it's equipped with automatic defenses,

It's deserted, except for Shapiro's troops.

I wish I had a guide book.

No -- the wiew's ruined by too many chaperons.

All right. Set the automatic defenses to maximum sensitivity

Maximum? But what if a relief battalion arrives?

I told you, there won't be any relief!

We can't even contact Zorbados!

Just follow your orders!

Damn humans! If you're going to attack, get on with it!

I'll make you pay!

Poor soldiers. You're destined to follow Shapiro to his doom.

What's that?

They're activating their defenses, to fight Gundor.

Okay.

Damn!

So, you followed him here, Sara!

Show me a tragedy of love and hate -- a play of passion.

Not that way, Sara! you can't kill him unless you find him.

Your target is this way!

Dammit! I can't wait!

Fujiwara!

I know. It's too soon to know whether Sara's alive or dead.

But I can't stand just waiting here!

I'm going to the hanger. Call me if anything happens.

Shinobu!

Leave him alone!

You'd just provoke a fight.

But I think he's more worried than any of us.

You!

I warned you, Shapiro! I told you I'd come to kill you!

Sara!

Maybe God does exist. Not you, but the one who guided me here.

What?

We have nothing left to say to each other, Shapiro.

Since you left me, I've found only one pleasure.

The happiness I'll feel when I kill you!

Lord Shapiro! Our automatic defenses are self-destructing!

Sara, what have you done?

I've just made things a little more hospitable for my friends.

You fool! You'll die, too!

Exactly.

You fool.

A disappointing finale, wasn't it, Shapiro?

Luna! Where are you?

The secret control room. Did I forget to tell you about that?

This base has another control room?

You are such a foolish man.

Emperor Zorbados never trusted anyone but me!

Do you finally understand?

How dare you!

You said you'd abandon the folly of love, to achieve godhood.

But perhaps God is only found when you embrace love, instead.

Don't you agree?

The moment you spoke of discarding love,

was also the moment your power began to fade.

But in the end, you were never a threat to Emperor Zorbados.

What did you say?

The Earthlings have arrived.

Sara's death, and thus, the death of Dancouga,

is why you still live. Farewell, Shapiro!

You traitor, Luna!

Sara! Where are you!

Wait!

Shapiro!

You were never worthy of my love!

Luna!

Where are you? Sara!

Sara!

Sara!

Shapiro! Shapiro!

Die, my enemies!

Universe, shroud yourself in darkness once more!

For today, a new god shall be born!

And he shall cast this world into the void as punishment!

Do you understand, Universe?

Kneel before your god, and devote your soul to his will!

Shapiro!

Shapiro! Shapiro!

Now, Universe! Why do you hesitate?

Come, kneel before your god!

Shapiro!

Sara!

How could you be so stupid?

You fool, Shapiro!

Unity Tutorial: Enemy AI (Combat, Movement, Spawn, Alert) - Simple RTS [Creating Games! ~ A-9] - Duration: 16:15.

On the last video we saw how to make attacks from a distance using projectiles and also how to do some healing

in this video we're finally going to gice our enemies the ability to attack, move around and

we're are also going to be making a simple spawn system for our enemies to be spawned on the scene

and we're going to give our enemies a system to... An alert system so that they can tell their friends

when they spot one of our units, the first thing we have to define to give our enemies some intelligence

is their State Machine, remember that in the case of the units, the movement state was the one with the highest priority

but for the enemies, the combat state is going to be the one with the highest priority

before looking at the scripts that give our enemies their new abilities, let's see a little change that was made to the Root script

remember our TakeDamage() function that we used to deal damage to the units? well now

when the HP reaches zero, instead of directly destroying the object we first check if that object

is one of our units and if it is, we deactivate the unit and use our new KirRevive function

to reactivate that unit with a 5 seconds delay, now our kir revive function just

what it does is just to refill the HP, updates the HP bar and as I said

it reactivates the unit's GameObject. Now the scripts that allow our enemies to attack are pretty much the same scripts

that our units use but with a few differences the first difference is that

they no longer look for the "Orc" tag on the detection list, of course because they need to look for the units

not other enemies and the other difference is that they don't check if

they are not in the movement state before changing to the combat state because as I said

when it comes to enemies, the combat state takes priority over every other state the last difference is that

when they have no more enemies on the detection zone or in this case, when the enemies have no more units

on their detection zone they don't go back to the idle state, they go back to the moving state

and of course the script for our ranged enemies have the same 3 differences, first

the change of the detection tags, second, the change of the state machine conditions

and finally, the state that the unit goes when it is no longer in combat

now let's see how our enemies move around, as you can see, there are now a series of waypoints in our scene

and these are going to serve as the points where the enemies are going to move to

in a certain order, each way point is just a transform witch a sphere collider

and the enemy WayPoint script on it, let's see how it works, we have this little "Orc" right here and when we play the scene

we can see that it goes to the moving state it goes to whatever next way point the first way point tells it to go

and when it reaches the way point it waits for a bit and goes moving again to the final way point

this is the script of our way points, we can see it only has 3 variables so it's really simple

2 booleans to indicate if this is the first way point or the last way point and an array

of possible next way points, in this script we're only going to use the OnTriggerEnter() function

and when an object enters this trigger collider, we check if the tag is "Orc" to see if

the object is one of our enemies, then we check if this way point is marked or is identified as

the last way point, if it is, then we tell that enemy that his next way point is going to be nothing

so we're going to get that enemy moving script which we're going to see in a while

and we're going to access this wayPoint variable that is going to tell the enemy movement script where to go

and we're going to clear that variable, now if this is not the last way point of the system

we're going to select one random way point of our list of next possible way points

and we're going to put this way point on the movement script of the enemy

as it's next way point, the next thing we have to do is to check the state of the enemy to idle

but if this is the first way point of our system we're going to change the state of that enemy

directly to moving, now let's see how the enemy movement script actually works

in the variable we have a reference to the Root of that enemy, a reference to the navMeshAgent component of the enemy

a transform variable to hold the next way point that this enemy is going to move to then we have a

maximum wait time before moving when the enemy reaches a new way point and a boolean variable

that is going to let us know if the enemy is deciding where to go next, this is going to be like a little effect

for our enemies so that when they reach a way point they wait for a bit like if they were deciding where to go next

and then when this maxWaitTime ends they actually move to their next way point

on the initialization of this script we just get the components as usual

the root component and the agent component, now on the Update() of this script, the first thing we have to do is to check

if this enemy is in the movement state, then we check if this enemy has somewhere to go

so if his wayPoint variable is null, then we change this enemy's state to idle

if this enemy has somewhere to go, then we use the agent component to move to the position of that way point

now the next thing this script does is to check if this enemy current state is idle and it does have somewhere to go

and it is not deciding where to go, then this conditional right here first set the deciding boolean to true so

the enemy is deciding where to go then we calculate our waiting time based on our max wait time variable

and we invoke our get moving function with a delay of the waiting time we just calculated

finally, our get moving function changes the state of the unit to moving and sets the deciding variable to false

that's everything the movement system needs to work as you can see our enemies move to the way points

and once they reach the way points they wait a little bit as if they were deciding where to go and then resume their movement

now let's check our enemy spawning system, as you can see we have an enemy spawning object and it spawns enemies in waves of 3

the only thing this enemy spawner object has is our enemy spawner script

in the enemy spawner script the first thing we have is a list of possible enemies that can spawn on this point

then we of course have a time to wait between each wave then we have 2 integers that will help us

count how many orcs have spawned in the current wave and the maximum orcs we will spawn in each wave

then we also have a little waiting time between spawning each enemy and also a variable that will help us

get a little variation between the time of each wave

on the initialization of this script we invoke the SpawnWave() function with a delay of our wave time

and in this spawn wave function the only thing we do is set the wave count to zero, this is how many enemies

have spawned in this wave and we execute the SpawnOrc() function

the first thing we do in the SpawnOrc() function is of course to increment the number of orcs that have been spawned in this wave

then if this number is less or equal to maximum orcs per wave

we select a random orc from our list of orcs to spawn

and we instantiate this new enemy, finally

we invoke this same function with a delay of spawnTime so this is a recursive function that invokes itself

once enough enemies have spawned what we do is to invoke the SpawnWave() function that was the first one we used

with a delay of waitTime plus a little variation that will depend on the waiTimeVariation variable

so the last ability we're going to give our enemies* is the ability to tell other enemies in it's detection zone

that it has detected an Unit, so it can tell all his friends that he has spotted an Unit so that everyone else joins the combat

Let's see this in action, when the first unit comes into this enemy* detection zone

it is going to tell this two enemies*, it is going to alert these two enemies* and this enemy* is going to also alert

this other enemy right here, let's see this happening, the unit comes in the detection zone and everyone gets to combat

this is our enemy alert script, it only has 4 variables, first a reference to the Root script of the enemy

then a transform to keep track of the spotted unit and a vector3 to

have an alert point and a reference to the navMeshAgent component

of the enemy, on the initialization, as usual, we only get the components we need to have

on the Update() the first thing we are going to check is if this enemy is in the combat state

if it is, we are going to do a for each loop with every object in his detection list

if this enemy finds one of our two units in his detection list then it is going to save it's transform in the unit spotted variable

now once we have assigned a transform to our unit spotted variable, then we're going to look for

every other enemy in our detection zone that is not in the combat state

so we can get this same script component in those other enemies and

assign to their alert point variable the position of the unit we have spotted

after that we're going to change that enemy state to the following state

on the enemies, the following state is going to serve as the alert state

now, still in Update() of this script, we're going to check if this enemy is on the following state which is our alert state

if this enemy have been alerted by another enemy we're going to do a for each loop on all the objects

of this detected list, if we find another enemy in the detection list that is not in the combat state

then we're going to communicate that enemy our alert point and we're going to change that enemy state to the following state

you see how this is going? each enemy tells every other that it have been alerted

now if this enemy is far from the alert point position we are going to use the navMeshAgent component to move

near of that alert point and when we get close to that alert point, we're going to change the state of this enemy

to the moving state, and that's it, that's everything we have to do to enable our alert system in our enemies

and that's it, we have seen how to make every single basic mechanic

to make our simple RTS game, so, thanks a lot for watching this video

and if you have any questions leave them in the comments below, good bye =)

hope to see you again soon~

my next unity videos will be about my grad project

but they will be in spanish :P

thanks for watching my first unity tutorials =)

hope they have been helpful to you~

[IT] Q&A How do I learn foreign languages? - Duration: 13:03.

Good morning and welcome back to your Lexi for another...

I can't say "German lesson"

because I'm not going to talk about grammar rules

or anything like it. I'll explain where all this is coming from

I was reading my commnts as usual

my comments? All right, I read those too, but...

I was reading the comments under my German course videos

and I found one which was quite interesting

it got to me because it was something I didn't think about

this is my mobile phope if you're wondering what's in my hand

and Empire State of Mind wrote me

did you like how I pronounced your nickname? I felt very...

she writes me: "I wanted to ask you why you don't make a vid"

"on how you learned German, which methodes you used"

"and how long it did take".

I think this is one of the first things I should have done

and I didn't

so: thanks for making me realise it, let's repair

it's a little late, what's this? 7th, 8th lesson? Something around that

so, slowly, but I get to it

let's talk about...

one thing at a time, possibly...

so: how did I learn German?

I'd start by saying I had to learn German in school

because you don't have many chances over here

you have to study it, some since 3rd grade

I've started in middle school and took it for 3 years

my grades were really low...

I passed just because my teachers didn't want to have me there any longer

let's say I wasn't a genius with languages

so I'd say those 3 years don't really count

because I didn't learn anything.

I've started to learn something when I decided to do it by myself

I found a website called Duolingo

is a free website, that allows you to

learn many different languages

from Arabic to languages... I don't know, they were talking about releasing an Elvish course

I don't know what use you can make of it

but if you're into... oh! They have Klingon already

for all the Star Trek fans to know

and, yes, it allows you to learn many different languages

what I'd like to say about this website

it that until you're at some basic level

it's all right, I mean, it helps you exercising

but it's really lacking on the grammar part

this means that if you want to learn the grammar you have the rules

but you have to search for them

and they're not explained in such a beautiful way

to me it's better to search for grammar rules somewhere else

and use Duolingo just to practice

your lnguage skills

another thing, while you're making your exercises

I'm sorry, I have a flu

another thig was that while I was completing the execises I've realised

that on the lower levels

it's ok, because the sentences

... what's important in there is building a sentence that's

somehow correct

the words you use are easy

you get 2 or 3 new words each level

and you practice on that

plus those you've learned before

so I'd say it's a good way to start

you even have games

you earn points

you're encouraged to play and you

can challenge you friends if you manage to get them on the website

and get them inside your group

there's something we might try

I've noticed there's a "school group" option

I guess I could crete a German class

I'll put the link somewhere

if you want to join

we should get a forum where we can discuss all together

about German rules

I guess I can try to create it

I don't know how nor if I'll succeed, so don't get

this information as absolute.

If I manage to do something you'll find the link

in the description

or in the comments? Dunno. It'll depend on my mood

I've searched for mobile apps

as well, and there's a mobile version of Duolingo

which allows you to learn English

I'm not sure if you can learn German with it

I've been looking for something else as well

that might allow you to learn German. But I couldn't find anything

that I'd suggerst to a beginner

I've been searching for them after I learned German and honestly

didn't spend too much time testing them, but I believe

what was more helpful to me was the time I spent in Germany

having to deal with Germans

that 1: couldn't speak Italian, but we can forgive that

2: couldn't speak English and that's a little more serious

if I wanted to interact I had to speak German

and find a way to get myself understood in German

one thing I realised is that not always...

I mean: if speaking is hard to you

and you speak slowly they try to help you

they explain themselves with gestures, and so on

if you're like me, I don't know why I'd appear to talk fast

someone told me in one of my Italian videos

that I tend to talk too fast

they'll believe you can speak the language well enough

just because you're talking fast

they seem to skip on mistakes

they too start talkig fast

and I can't get a word anymore, I have to stop them

like: "slow down! I don't get anything you say! I know I talk fast..."

"but I'm just weird, I don't even know what I'm saying!"

"not to mention what you say"

so this is how I learned German: by speaking it

as I was there I attended a language school

and I really felt the difference

between the Volkshochschule, which is

the public school

and another one called "atelier of languages"

and even by "atelier" you can feel

how posh it was

it was a snobbish school

attended by kids on vacation

I really felt the difference

in the environment: the VHS had curses in the evening

attended by adults, people around my age

working and living in Germany

that had to deal with daily life issues

had a job and maybe was struggling with it

people going through hard times...

who were already in touch with the German culture

versus those who were on a summer holiday

and had this "holiday mentality"

they didn't want to study so much as sightseeing

and have fun

to me it was harder to get in touch with these people

I felt this need to have fun and zero interesting in doing assignments

and study, so the lessons were slower

we didn't cover so many topics

they had these colorful work sheets

but I feel I've learned way more in the VHS

not to mention the prices were way lower

compared to this atelier

and I guess it's the same for any other private school

that likes to show off

they were all very expensive

the programs were shorter

and concentrated

I don't know how much you really learn

something that got to me was

that in this languages atelier

I had to take an entrance quiz

to test my level

so they can score you into the right group

according to your knowledge level

I did this test, at the time they found me... xD

it sounds like I'm talking about an illness...

they classified me as B2.1

so I ended up in the B2 course

one thing I've noticed about this group and I was confused about

was that when I got there

they were all grammar geniuses

they knew all the rules

but when they had to spin...

to speak, it took them like 3 hours to make a sentence

and I was so confused about this!

I stared, I had no issue to make a sentence

I make loads of mistakes

but it doesn't take me forever

like one word, then...

"wait!" and the other half an hour later!

I'm fluent

my grammar is inexistant

and I keep making mistakes

but I don't have to think before I make them

so I was among these guys and I've noticed a huge

difference in the speed of our speech

it was painful hearing them speak, so that

I started wondering if I ended up in the right classroom. We couldn't be at the same level!

I guess that learning German from Germans

made me quicker at speaking

but my grammar... as it might happen in Italy

our speech is different from written Italian and we don't follow many grammar rules

so my written German is way worse than my spoken

as a matter of fact when I had my examination

the part I did worst was the written part

because grammar is like a fantasy thing to me

it's like...

and maybe, that was why I couldn't learn languages in school!

I have issues with the grammar: I don't like it, I can't learn it!

So when they simply explained me the rules, I didn't get anything

whilst I'm good at talking and sharing with people

it's way easier

I guess this depends on anyone's personal style

the way you learn

what you prefer. Some

prefer learning with books and can only learn from a book

some, like me, are maybe allergic to books...

and can only learn by doing things

I don't think there's a common rule here

but that this depends on the way you lern best

but let's get to the other question or

I'll talk for 20 minutes about this

"how did you lear it?" already answered this, "how long did it take you?"

if we forget about those 3 years in middle school

because I didn't learn anything useful

it took me 1 year and a half to get to a B2

but I know of people who in the same amount of time reached a C1

so if you study

concentrate and study

I think anything is possibleand that it depends on

how good at it you are, if you have a talent

and many other factors

even how much you dare

about this: my flatmate

when I was in Germany

was way better than me at speaking German

she was a B1

or between B1 and B2

when we got there. I started from an A2

She eventually...

starting from a B1, got to

a B1+

she stayed there

whilst I got from A2 to B1, almost B2

I improved much more. Obviously...

it's easier on lower levels

when you're at a higher level...

what makes you get to the next level

is such a huge amount...

I mean: on a lower leve, an A1 for example

you need to be able to give directions

so it's rather easy to improve

you only need to learn how to ask about something else

you only broaden your vocabulary

when you get to a certain point you have to refine your grammar

and it's harder to skip to the next level

but it still got to me, the comparison between our methods

she had to know every rule on the book

and I feel it was harder to her

to just try something

when I took the admission test to the VHS

I was scored something between A2 and B1

they said I could choose... or, better...

I've asked them if I could get into the B1 instead of the A2

becaues it was clear from the test I needed anything in the A2 level already

the B1 was higher, and I preferred

to work a little bit more

but also to learn more

she, being between B1 and B2

decided to take the B1

so eventually we got to the same point

I guess you need some courage

and enjoy the challenge when it comes to this

and above all: don't be afraid of making mistakes

because I've realised

no one notices them so much

maybe someone's afraid: "OMG! I could make a mistake!"

"OMG, what should I say?!"

but people... well, not all

especially here on YouTube people are mean

but in real life, which is different

and way better to me...

people isn't this cruel

so if they realise you're messing up things

that that's not you mother language

your mother tongue

they'll help you, if you don't get things

they'll repeat... sometimes it depends on the situation

sometimes they can't spend 4 hours just to explain something to you

sometimes

you need to use your brain

and if you don't get something to get creative

but generally they're ready to help

I think you need some courge, some

determination and then just do it.

Some get better results, some less

Well, some are just born lucky!

Not my fault!

and... I'd say I've answered all of your questions

I'll see you next week in my newest video

and as usual, if you have question write them down below

around here should appear some other videos, links...

random things, dunno what.

It always depend on my mood when I'm editing the vids

possibly random things...

and... see you! Or I'll get back talkig and there's no one here to stop me...

What is a Samba School - A Dica do Dica - Duration: 2:08.

Hey guys!

Do you know what is a samba school?

So, let's find out!

A samba school is a group of dancers and musicians that dance and play samba.

There are many samba schools around Brazil and here in Rio,

the best ones compete against each other during Carnaval at Sapucaí.

This is how it looks without Carnaval. Can you imagine a party here?

Although the name is samba school, it's not a place for you to learn how to dance samba.

It has this name because the first samba schools used to do their rehearsals in a schoolyard.

Here in Rio most of the samba schools have the acronym G.R.E.S. before theirs names.

It stands for Grêmio Recreativo Escola de Samba, which means Recreative Guild Samba School.

The samba schools usually prepare themselves for Carnaval months before it.

Each of them has their own court, that is a closed place where they can practice,

or they can also do street rehearsals, where the community can watch, sign and dance along.

Visiting a samba school is like going to a great party, with lots of beautiful people dancing and a great energy.

Have you ever been to a samba school?
