Good morning, welcome back! We're still in Budapest
In a different area of the city, as you can tell by the traffic
Weather is like yesterday, maybe just a little bit more haze
Temperature is slightly above zero degrees, windy, but it's fine
Today's schedule is pretty straight forward: see what I haven0t seen yesterday
in fact I'm already walking to the first location
well then, let's start this day and see where it leads us!
I must admit that when I have to travel light I really miss
Frist one is obviously the tele lens, 'cause bringing three lenses when you have nowhere to keep them
well, it is a little bit of a problem, but for the next trip I might bring it
Second one is the longboard
might sound weird, but for moving around the city is quite practical
it would have benn useful here, 'cause streets are nice, sidewalks wide
not like most european capitals
I wanted to begin this day by taking you to the monumental cemetery, but
when I stepped in, the warden pointed my camera saying something and basically telling me I couldn't get inside
too bad, because old graveyards are beautiful
so I've just kept walking up to the museum of natural history, back there
everything's frozen in this park, so better move on before I froze myself
next stop... don't know, somewhere in Budapest
Yesterday I was somewhere there, can't even see from here, I'll zoom in
and today I'm already here, it's 10.30 amd I walked for 7 kilometers, if the gps is correct
so, yeah, I'm already getting tired
but once again: well done Budapest
steets are well made, city planning is clear, even the suburbs are undergoing a...
redevelopment, that's the word
it's a nice city, well preserved, and even if most of the buildings are historical, it doesn't look like an old city
it feels lively, modern, full with people and stuff but never suffocating, and I like this
even cars are, if not recent, new
it's hard to see old cars, in Italy we are used to see old ones
but here are new and clean
so if you're looking for that ramshackle east europe and stuff like that, Budapest is not the city for you, being a modern european capital
I don't know what is it about european capital's indoor markets that I find so charming
maybe the architectures, maybe the variety of local products, I just find it all charming
anyway, welcome to Budapest's central market!
Well, it's not crowded and colorful like the Boqueria, but it is worth a visit
Upstairs there are restaurants and souvernirs shops for every taste
I'm gonna cross the Danube once more and get ready for the long walk to the next stop
I didn't cross the Danube as the evening shade has already fell upon it, so I stayed on the sunny side
I didn't take the riverside promenade, taking the inner streets instead
so that I could find something to eat because I've been walking for a few hours
and I spotted a kiosk that caught my attention, 'cause it looked familiar
not sure yet, they'll let me know in the comments but
that looked like the kiosk Giangi adviced
and let me say that this langos, although it's too greasy, it's also really good!
meanwhile, after like 5km, I've finally arrived to Margrit Island, this island on the Danube - it's full of leaves, here, sorry -
this island in the middle of the Danube, between the two sides of the city
probably not the best time of the year to visit, as it's a big garden and it's full winter
but we'll give a look, even if I'm getting really tired!
There a lots of thing on this island: running track, a mini zoo, playgrounds
pools, a theater, a musical fountain, even the ruins of a convent
most of them are closed due to the season, but still enjoyable
the battery died on me while talking
coming this way I saw a sports store, thus, as it's not that late and I managed to see all I had planned
I want to get there and see if I get get something done
if you've being paying attention in the last video, you can probably guess what
let's see if I can get it done, if not, I'll see you at the hostel in a while
and if you thought I wanted to buy a swimsuit to go to the thermae, you were right!
I went to the thermae I showed you in the previous video from Budapest
I won't even try to pronounce the name, I'll put it somewhere on the screen
aaaand, they're nice, pretty big and pretty labirintic
there's the hot pool outside
water was some 30 degrees celsius, the air 5 degress, not too extreme
but it was needed, after the 25-30km I walked today, and I still haven't had dinner
if you're in Budapest I recommend going there, the ones near Heroes' Square
but my advice is to spend at least half day there
because on internet some say they close at 10pm, but they kicked us out at 7pm
and it costs about 16-17€, but it's really nice and recommended
it is all for tonight - that's my phone vibrating, the wifi finally works and I'm receiving all the messages -
where was I? That's it for today, I'll be in Budapest for a while tomorrow too, but
stick to the end when I'll give you a hint for the next videos. See you tomorrow!
Good morning! Sun is gone, clouds over the beautiful Budapest, my last hours here
I'll grab some breakfast then I'll catch the bus to the airport. It's a long way home!
After the usual bus, airplane, bur, train and too many kilometers by foot
I'm finally home - my voice is low -
This trip to Budapest is obviously over - my voice is way gone -
hope you anjoyed it, I did like the city
I'm happy to check Budapest on the list of places I've seen
I wasn't expecting it to be like that and I was impressed in a positive way
I promised to give you a hint at the end of this video so
it's 5.48pm, wednsday november 29th and I just got home, that's it
thank you for watching, I'll see you in the next video!
