S. Korea to use chartered plane for flying skiers to N. Korea - Duration: 1:57.

South Korea plans to send its skiers using a chartered flight to cross over to the North.

The trip for a two-day joint training could happen as early as Wednesday.

Our Ji Myung-kil gets us up to speed with the ongoing inter-Korean exchange.

South Korea's unification ministry said Monday that it will send its non-Olympic skiers to

North Korea's Masikryong Ski Resort for a two-day joint training using a chartered plane.

The Kalma Airport is some 45-minutes away from the Masikryong Ski Resort.

"North Korea will provide South Korea with necessary conveniences. We will not pay fees

for using the North's airport and airspace as such a payment could go against international

sanctions."

If Seoul charters a plane from an airline which is currently providing flights to the

U.S., then it would violate U.S. sanctions. Therefore, Seoul is pondering over sending

a chartered airline that does not have flights to the U.S.

U.S. President Trump announced a set of sanctions in September that include banning vessels

and aircraft that have visited North Korea from visiting the U.S. within 180 days.

"When it comes to joint events, we are closely consulting with the U.S. and the international

community in a bid not to spark a row over possible violation of sanctions."

The two Koreas also agreed to hold a joint cultural performance in Mount Kumgang... on

the North's east coast ahead of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

However, Seoul may have to bring refined petroleum products to the North when it holds the cultural

event as Pyongyang said it will be difficult for it to supply power to a facility built

by the South Korean side. But delivering refined petroleum products

to the North could be tricky as the UN and U.S. have either put a cap or banned exports

of crude oil and petroleum products to North Korea.

Welcome to Vlog Number 11!

Well, I haven't done a Vlog for wow

monthes already the last one was Eurofurence last year, and oh my god 4 monthes between

But too much busy things going on and you know life is....is happening

You know that problem, but anyway erm

Well at this time I'm going to walk around a bit, because I'm....

I'm always walking around a bit, right? Oh well! This time I'm in Japan again and

It's very close to Odaiba Park and all that area at the bay over there

The thing is, right there is the area where Digimon the second season happened

mostly, and you probably see a lot of

places which are very familiar if you know the season. Right now, I would like to show you my room

Well, actually the whole trip is about 9 km long so it's going to be a long trip

Just by the way, I haven't mentioned I'm not taking the train or the subway or something

I just want to walk around so it's like a real trip of 9 km

and not just taking the train and going to the next stop

Don't worry about that. You won't see a train. Hmm...maybe on the way back

So just met some people from Australia and England. Awww that's cool!

They were really nice and they haven't expected that I'm not Japanese

Well, I've kind of fit into the cliché I think

And as the last time I've already told you there are vending machines everywhere in Tokyo

Not even in Tokyo it's like everywhere in Japan. No matter where you are even if it's like a rural area

It doesn't matter there are vending machine like this one, this one or that one or that one there are too many

But it's okay, because

So, it's really nice!

I have no idea how to get back. Oh Gawd!

don't get too confused between the differences of summon Amy

so some which is used for the affirmative and any which is used for

the negative and the questions but as soon as we have to use no or none it

gets a little trickier so let's start with summon any it's true that some is

always for the affirmative and any and and any is for the negative and the

question but there are some questions where you can use some and that's when

it's something that is undoubtable for example if you go into a cafe you

presume they have coffee so you're not going to say have you got any coffee or

can I have any coffee because that's their job they have to have coffee so

you'll say can I have some coffee even if it's a question and in fact I would

say that every time you have the word can you presume that there is this this

thing that you need or you want and therefore some is perfectly correct also

if you go into a supermarket maybe at the delicatessen where you can see

everything you can say can I have some of that cheese because you see it there

there's no doubt they've got it instead if you're wondering you know you can't

see the particular ham you're looking for then you can ask have you got any of

that particular ham because it's doubtful you don't know if they have it

so any is always a demonstration of doubt and therefore can is usually used

with some but otherwise I would say that any is for questions now instead when to

use no and none we show you a document to make it easier

for you to visualize so we said that thumb is used in affirmatives there is

some coke in the fridge that's because we're saying what there is in the fridge

instead if we don't know what there is we can say there is something to drink

in the fridge but we haven't actually specified what it is so something

substitutes the word coke affirmative there is some coke in the fridge or

there is something to drink in the fridge now if we want to say a negative

sentence we'll say there isn't any coke in the fridge or there isn't anything to

drink in the fridge we can also use the verb in the affirmative and say there is

instead of there isn't but then we'll use the word no there is no Coke in the

fridge what does that mean the sentence has an affirmative verb but because

we're using the word no we've actually given it a negative meaning so there is

no Coke in the fridge is equivalent to there isn't any coke in the fridge or we

can also say there is no thing to drink in the fridge so there is nothing to

drink in the fridge now we come to the questions is there any Coke in the

fridge and he is used for questions we have three possible answers affirmative

yes there's some negative no there isn't any but we can also use the affirmative

verb and say no there is none not even one none so when we use the verb in the

affirmative there is we will then put no or none as you've seen here and of

course there's also the plural no there are none if we were

to ask a puerile question okay again we have anything so is there anything to

drink in the fridge affirmative yes there's something negative

no there isn't anything and the affirmative verb no there is nothing

because we're using an affirmative verb with a negative word which makes the

whole meaning negative so to summarize some is used for

affirmative sentences as well as some things someone somewhere somebody any is

used in the negatives and the questions as well as anything anyone anywhere

anybody and if you use a verb in the affirmative such as there is but then

you use combinations of no giving it a negative sentence you can say no nothing

no one nowhere nobody now nobody and no one have the same meaning but you'll

typically find that no one is considered to be more correct in formal writing

whilst nobody is used more often in conversation and song lyrics okay I hope

Pres. Moon orders safety checks on all public facilities after Miryang tragedy - Duration: 2:33.

Turning our focus to a meeting held between the president and his top aides.

The liberal leader called for the formation of a special task force on fire safety measures.

Hwang Hojun has the latest from Cheongwadae.

President Moon Jae-in called for an overall safety check on fire-prone public facilities

as well as new safety measures to put an end to fire-related accidents.

"The pervasive feeling that we aren't safe, the tendency to go for stopgap measures.

This is another way of saying that safety is not a priority and that it's a waste of

money.

These are just the kind of deep-rooted evils we have to eradicate."

That was the President speaking during Monday's meeting with his top aides, just a couple

days after he visited the site of the hospital fire in Miryang last weekend,... which, as

of Monday morning, had resulted in 39 deaths.

The fire in Miryang came just over a month after another fire in a commercial building

that killed nearly 30 people in the city of Jecheon.

Since then, the Moon administration has been blamed by some for the deep flaws revealed

in the nation's safety.

The fires have been seen as a setback for President Moon's pledge to make the country

safer,... with the PyeongChang Winter Olympics coming up in a matter of days.

President Moon said the fundamental cause of catastrophes like these lies in the past,

a jab at the past two conservative administrations which were focused more on external growth.

But amid the finger-pointing, President Moon stressed that no one is blameless and asked

all parties to put their full efforts into righting this wrong.

"We can ask whether this was caused by local governments failing to properly manage safety

or by the National Assembly falling behind in safety-related legislation.

But ultimately, the people's lives and safety are the responsibility of the central government.

And with that in mind, I urge you take action."

The South Korean President called for the creation of a special task force within the

Blue House that will deal with fire safety measures.

He also insisted that the government come up with new methods that will find every last

problem with buildings across the country and let the public know about them.

Even if it takes time, he said, they can't continue with business as usual.

Several safety measures were suggested by the President, such as mandatory fire drills

and installing an emergency button at larger facilities that will alert the authorities.

When it comes to applying new safety rules to existing buildings, he asked his top aides

to find a way that won't put too much financial pressure on building owners.

Those with the first attitude blame the world.

Those with the second ask what they could do differently.

The unhappy, bitter husband recalls the terrible things his wife has done, and the reasons

he can no longer live with her.

The harried and disillusioned wife, in turn, can describe all the ways her husband let her down.

Each has a long list of necessary changes—for the other person.

Their prospects for reconciliation are grim.

Why?

Because other people aren't the problem.

You're the problem.

You can't change other people, but you can change yourself.

But it's difficult.

It takes courage to change, and it takes discipline.

It's much easier—and much more gratifying to your basest desires—

to blame someone else for your misery.

Consider the youthful activist, making a "statement" against the "corrupt" capitalist system

by smashing in the storefront of a local business.

What has he done, other than to bring harm to people who have nothing to do with his

real problems?

The guilt, doubt and shame he will inevitably feel in consequence will have to be suppressed

so his beliefs can remain unchanged.

And that suppression will do nothing but foster his anger and alienation.

T.S. Eliot, one of the characters is having a very hard time of it.

She speaks of her profound unhappiness to her psychiatrist.

She tells him that she hopes her suffering is all her own fault.

Taken aback, the psychiatrist asks why.

Because, she tells him, if it's her fault, she can do something about it.

If it's in the nature of the world, however, she's doomed.

She can't change everything else.

But she could change herself.

Now, there are people who seem to be consigned to a terrible fate.

But most of us aren't.

Most of us have a chance to make our lives better.

But how?

Start small.

Ask yourself a few questions: Have you taken full advantage of the opportunities offered to you?

Are you working to your fullest capacity at school or at work?

Have you, in other words, set your own house in order?

If the answer is no, try this: stop doing what you know to be wrong.

Stop today.

Don't waste time asking how you know that what you're doing is wrong.

Inopportune questioning can confuse without enlightening, and deflect you from action.

You can know something is right or wrong without knowing why.

Start paying attention: Do you procrastinate, show up late, spend money you don't have,

and drink more than you should?

It's not a matter of accepting some externally imposed morality.

It's a dialogue with your own conscience.

What are you doing that's wrong, from your own perspective?

What could you put right—right now?

Get to work on time.

Stop interrupting people.

Make peace with your siblings and your parents.

Diligently utilize everything you already have at hand.

If you do those things, your life will improve.

You'll become more peaceful, productive and desirable.

After some days, or weeks, or months of attentive effort, your mind will clear.

Your life will become less tragic, and you will become more confident.

You'll start seeing right from wrong more clearly.

The path in front of you will shine more brightly.

You'll stop getting in your own way.

Instead of bringing trouble to yourself, your family, and your society, you'll be a positive

and reliable force.

Your life will still be difficult.

You'll still suffer.

That's the price of being alive.

But maybe you'll become strong enough to accept that burden, and in that fashion

even come to act nobly, and with purpose.

The proper way to fix the world isn't to fix the world.

There's no reason to assume that you're even up to such a task.

But you can fix yourself.

You'll do no one any harm by doing so.

And in that manner, at least, you will make the world a better place.

At an international security forum, the nation's Defense chief used some strong words to warn

North Korea against using nukes to attack Seoul or Washington.

According to our Oh Jung-hee, he also reassured, in dealing with Pyongyang's threat, South

Korea's non-proliferation stance remains unchanged.

North Korea will be wiped off the world map should it use nuclear weapons on South Korea

or the United States.

That's what South Korea's Defense Minister Song Young-moo confidently stated on Monday

at a security forum in Singapore.

When asked whether Pyongyang has a coercive purpose to its nuclear weapons program,...

Minister Song said... the North attacking South Korea or the U.S. won't happen for real...

and that the nuclear development program is just a part of the Kim Jong-un regime's propaganda

strategy.

He stressed that it's (quote)"anachronistic" to say Pyongyang will use its nuclear weapons,...

but added... if it does, then the regime will be erased

off the world map.

And to deal with this threat,...

Minister Song gave assurances... that South Korea won't be deploying tactical

nuclear weapons... but developing stronger conventional weapons... to keep peace, not

go to war.

The remarks came during a question-and-answer session after Minister Song's keynote speech

at the 2018 Fullerton Forum... the very first as Seoul's defense chief.

During his address,... he stressed the most urgent and grave security threat in the Asia-Pacific

region is Pyongyang's nuclear and missile development... and said South Korea will not,

under any circumstances, accept North Korea as a nuclear state.

He emphasized that Seoul will work towards a complete denuclearization of the Korean

Peninsula,... through peaceful measures like dialogue and negotiation, saying sanctions

and pressure will only be used as means of achieving this.

Mentioning that North Korea could have been secretly trading with other nations using

foreign vessels, Minister Song urged all nations in the region to abide by UN sanctions and

up the pressure on the regime.

Thank you for your question.

You submitted your question with several photos.

And you stated in your question, you're asking will you need fillers.

And you're concerned about your under eye and other areas of your face after undergoing

some weight loss approximately one month prior about 15 pounds.

You went From 145 to 130.

And you state that you are now 133 and that you are 22-years-old.

Well, I can certainly share with you how I advise people like yourself, your age group,

who come to my practice with similar concerns after an illness even though I don't know

the details of the type of illness you had.

A little bit of background, I'm a Board-certified cosmetic surgeon and Fellowship-trained oculofacial

plastic and reconstructive surgeon.

I have been in practice in Manhattan and Long Island for over 20 years.

Helping people improve their appearance for what you're describing is more of a typical

age related change is something that has been the center of my practice whether it's surgical

or non-surgical solutions.

So to begin with, I think it's very important to understand the distinction of when someone

needs filler versus when someone doesn't.

And when we talk about using fillers, if we're talking about someone over the age of 35 or

40, we're talking about facial aging changes which is associated with a certain amount

of bone loss, fat loss and soft tissue loss and loss of the integrity of the skin, part

of normal aging.

When we talk about fillers in someone who is younger, well usually that's something

that's more of a genetic issue.

So for someone who has let's say less prominent cheekbones, someone who has naturally very

thin lips, we sometimes distinguish when we are dealing with someone with facial aging

changes, we refer to that as correction or restoring.

And when we talk about a younger person who has let's say a genetic structural issue,

then we refer to that as beautification.

Now that being said, in a situation like yours where if you had stress on your body that

you are recovering from, I would say that it's best to allow at least about a year

to normalize.

This is a time in your life where you have, this is the bloom and this is when the body

is very resilient and is in the blossoming stage of what everyone describes as youthful

life.

And this is your young 20s.

And what I observed is that once health is stable, then everything comes back to its

place.

This is something again, depending on whatever it is you are dealing with that lead to this

significant rapid weight loss, that can have a short-term impact versus a long-term impact.

But I would say that after a year, you can certainly re-evaluate and decide whether or

not there may be some value in doing something for the under eye area.

Typically for the under eye area, we do something like a filler in the tear trough using Restylane

or a hyaluronic acid filler.

Or for someone with facial aging, we'll do something called Structural Volumizing

where we put volume in areas where there is bone loss, where there is an opportunity to

restore what has been lost.

So again, it brings us back to the original point.

If your illness was something that there was a temporary loss of weight, well it's most

likely proportionally more about soft tissue or fat loss.

But the bone structure is of course is still intact which means that if you gain your weight

back, then chances are everything will also come back to its normal track.

So I would say again, allow yourself about a year from the time you recovered from your

illness to see how you'll look and most likely, if you basically follow some golden

simple rules, eating a good healthy diet, sleeping enough and exercising and avoiding

toxic influences such as smoking then more than likely, you'll be back to your youthful

appearance without need for any type of aesthetic interventions.

Korean online retailer plans to accept payment in cryptocurrencies - Duration: 2:42.

A major online shopping mall and one of South Korea's biggest currency exchange are joining

forces to develop a system that would allow purchases using crypto-currency.

Although not an entirely new concept, it is still foreign to many in the nation.

Here's Lee Jeong-yeon with a closer look.

A major project is underway in South Korea for virtual currency.

One of the country's biggest online shopping malls, Wemakeprice, and the largest local

crypto exchange, Bithumb, are working on a system that'll see virtual currencies used

on a large scale... for their original purpose -- namely, buying things.

Currently, Bithumb and Wemakeprice are waiting on government regulations on virtual currency

to be finalized before launching the service.

If this were to become possible, it would mean that 12 types of virtual currency, including

Bitcoin, Ripple, and Ethereum, could be used to make purchases online.

It's not the first time in Korea that a vendor has accepted virtual currency, but it is the

first time that a major online retailer has done so.

Crypto prices are notorious for their volatility, so transactions will reflect the coins' value

in real time.

But not everyone's convinced.

"I think for now the prices of cryptocurrency fluctuate too much, so I would think twice

before using it as money.

But it would be convenient if I could."

"Virtual currency isn't yet backed by by the government, so I think there's a risk.

I'm not sure, but I feel like it's too soon to be used as currency."

In the United States, Bitcoin is already accepted by major online platforms such as Overstock,

Expedia, and Microsoft.

Japanese electronics store BicCamera has also started accepting it at their brick-and-mortar

stores.

So there's evidence that cryptos are gaining a foothold, but experts see significant downsides.

"The current crop doesn't really have a central authority trying to stabilize the prices,

so I think they're working against themselves in trying to make this a currency.

The value is just too volatile."

Still, the expert says it might be worth a try.

"It will be an interesting experiment.

I think a lot of people will look at this as perhaps trying to figure out what the future

path of the cryptocurrency will be, whether it will be able to fulfill its original intention

as a currency or whether it will just be a niche asset like gold."

He also speculates that it could be years before the value of cryptos is stable enough

for it to become a mainstream form of currency.

Like how you bring that up because I think how I like to think about the teammate is they're

like an individual piece of the puzzle and all the individual puzzle pieces are

you know that team and then they have to work together to make the puzzle.

Yeah, I mean, I look at it as being a good team mate is just being really honest with

your team, you know? There are some things that you might be afraid to show to the

team and you might you know keep you inside of you

but sometimes I think it's better to be honest with the team and just let them

know what exactly is going on within yourself.
