CHICKEN RISOTTO - Easy Student Meal - Duration: 7:32.Hi and a huge welcome to Steve's Kitchen Today I'm doing a super simple students
risotto. A lot of you know for the next month we're going to be in this very
basic apartment we've rented and we've only got a two ring burner, two saucepans
and a microwave oven. Having said that I still want my food to be delicious and I
want to keep it fairly simple even the ingredients I bought for this I don't
want to get too many bits and pieces so I've kept that simple also, let's get on
and make this delicious chicken students risotto. Now I've got about 10 ounces or 300
grams of lean chicken here I've gone for chicken fillet because it's very cheap
here in Malaysia but you could use thigh meat or chicken breast. Remove these
little bits of sinew they're very easy to do, just turn the meat over, get
yourself a sharp knife and just drag it along take the sinew out it's a
little bit tough and then we're just going to dice this chicken up into cubes
and then we're going to take this chicken over to the hob. Now I'm using
an induction hob whether you've got gas or electric I've got a frying pan here
I'm popping it up to a fairly moderate to high heat, 12 on here, in the frying
pan I've got about a tablespoon of cooking oil. We want to brown this
chicken off so what I'm going to do is pop it in with the oil and just spread
your chicken pieces out in the pan. Now I've got some salt here I'm just going
to take a pinch we want to season all over this chicken so I've take a pinch
or two of salt I've got pepper as well, happen to have
white pepper but you could use white or black I want to put a fair bit of pepper
on there I shall be looking at the back of the chicken I want it to go really
nice and caramelized to add flavor to the meat. Okay when you start to see a
bit of color appearing on the chicken like that we can turn each piece over
Now I've turned the meat over and what I've got here are some dried herbs I'm going to
take about a dessert spoon of these and sprinkle them over the chicken
Now I've just brought in mixed herbs here and I've gone for those Italian
herb so check the packet make sure you've got the Oregano, the basil, the
parsley in there, they're the best flavors I think for this
dish. Now as the other side of the chicken starts to cook off I'm just going to
give this a mix through coat the herbs completely over the chicken and that's
pretty much it I'm turning the heat off now I'm going to pop this aside. Next
I've got my second pot, the only other pot I have in the apartment turn the
heat back on we are going for a modest to high heat I'm going to add a couple of
tablespoons of olive oil Now this olive oil has actually got
chilies in it so that a little bit of extra spice. Now I've got Brown rice
here you could use brown rice, red rice, white rice whatever you like and a
regular coffee mug I'm just going to fill up the coffee mug and this is just
a form of measurement really so I know how much water to put in. So that's one
cup of rice and I'm actually going to go for about one and a half cups. Now you're
going to love how simple this is, I'm just heating up the oil a little bit
with the rice on it and next because I used a cup and a half of rice I'm going
to use three cups of water. Hear that lovely sizzle that's what I'm looking
for so it's basically double the water to the rice three cups of water in there
I've got these chicken stock cubes I'm not going for fancy stock this is
just a regular stock cube but I am going to just crumble it up and I'm using two
stock cubes for extra flavor I've got my mixed herbs I'm going to sprinkle in
there another teaspoon or two, next light soy sauce, we want a couple of
tablespoons of light soy sauce Now this is a student meal so I've just got some
frozen mixed vegetables I am going to add a cup in there, so just got the peas
the sweet corn and the carrots, pop that in there as well .Now give this a mix
through. Now oil is important for the taste on the mouth on a simple dish like
this, I've got a little bit of sesame oil, you could use a bit more olive oil if
you like, just going to add another tablespoon or so into that. Now take your
chicken pieces, all that lovely crispy chicken goes in there, give this one last
mix through and as soon as you start to see it bubbling
like that we're going to take our heat and I'm going to turn that right down to
three so it's a very low simmer now. Now a lot of students may not have a great
kitchen but most of you have a smartphone, so set twenty five minutes on the timer
and off we go twenty five minutes from now it doesn't need covering by the way
that pot it's just going to absorb the moisture into the rice and evaporate
some of the moisture off, in twenty five minutes time that is going to be
perfectly cooked or there abouts we'll check it out. Now I've got about three
minutes left to go and I want you to keep an eye on the rice at this stage
just come in here close, now you see the rice has puffed up beautifully, in this
edge here we've got still a little bit of moisture ,what I will do now is just
give this a stir through and you can see at the bottom most of the liquid has
vanished but you do want to keep an eye on it for the last few minutes you don't
want it to get too dry and end up sticking to the bottom of the pan, which
will happen if you have the heat too high or if your pan bottom is too thin
so just keep an eye on it, you can see how lovely and moist that rice is now
Now there's the alarm going off and you can see I'm just going to turn the heat
off now, this is the only bit you really have to keep an eye on the last few
minutes mine has been pretty much perfectly twenty five minutes on this
hob. We want our rice to be plump and moist so now I can actually serve this
straight away let's make sure we get a decent amount of chicken in there as
well. Make sure you take the pot off of the heat at this point and this is ready
to serve. Now if your student budget will run to it a little bit of Parmesan
cheese or parmigiano and we're just going to grate this over the top of our
rice. Now I've added a couple of cherry tomatoes on there just for some
photographs but come in here and take a look at this, the rice is still beautiful
and moist and for the minimum effort we are rewarded with a delicious student's
risotto I'm going to give this a try. Oh that is packed full of flavor it's so
delicious I suspect even if you're not the student you should give this dish a
try because it is so simple it tastes so good. Please let me know in the comments
down below what you think and if you give this a try tell me if you've gone
for some variations, maybe you're going to make it with fish, maybe going to do
it with pork or some other ideas you might come up with and as always if
you've enjoyed this video please share it across on social media with any of
your friends and don't forget on this Sunday will be doing a sweet dish to go
with this savory dish, so check that out as well be good and I will see you in
the next video. Take care.

The club isn't the best place to find a lover
So the bar is where I go
Me and my friends at the table doing shots
Drinking fast and then we talk slow
Come on over and start up a conversation with just me
And trust me I'll give it a chance now
Take my hand, stop Put Van The Man on the jukebox
And then we start to dance
And now I'm singing like
Boy, you know I want your love
Your love was handmade for somebody like me
Come on now, follow my lead
I may be crazy, don't mind me
Say, girl, let's not talk too much
Grab on my waist and put that body on me
Come on now, follow my lead
Come on now, follow my lead
Oh I oh I oh I oh I
I'm in love with your body
Oh I oh I oh I oh I
With your body
With your body
Oh I oh I oh I oh I
I'm in love with your body
Everyday discovering something brand new

learn how to install bootstrap framework to your project for beginners-go responsive - Duration: 6:50.Hello and welcome to another new episode of learning simplified.
In this tutorial we are going to practically learn about how to install Bootstrap into
our project.
In the previous tutorial we have seen how to download the original source code and it
was downloaded into our computer as a .zip format.
Now all we have to do we have to extract these files.
So that is why all we have to do is to right click on it and select extract here.
So we can see that from the zip version it has been
extracted and all the components are stored in this main folder which is known as bootstrap-3.3.7-dist.
If you want to make some changes over here like the name,
press F2, then change the name like this one.
So we have changed the name here.
Now if we click on it, we can see that inside this bootstrap folder, there are three
folders those are present over here.
And they are known as css, fonts, and JS.
So all we need to do we need to create another folder here that I have named as
bootstrap project and here, all I need to do I have to copy all the three of it...So
I'm copying them.
Now this is practically our root folder inside which we have
copied every single elements that we have extracted from the file which we have downloaded
off the Internet.
Now we don't have a need of it, so we are closing it,
now we are concentrating into our root folder.
Now this index.html has been created by us.
If we click into this CSS folder, we can see that here are the files those
have been downloaded, these are practically the codes that will be needed here.
These are the fonts, these are practically the glyph icon that will be used in the
bootstrap project.
And this is the JS folder that contains these files inside.
We will be practically requiring a single file of each folder and we will be placing
it into our project.
Now if we open our index.HTML with our text editor, we can see that this is index.html
that has been created by us, and as I have told you
before that this is the doctype HTML, that means this is an HTML5 declaration, as we
can see here.
This is the meta charset declaration, and as I have told you
earlier that this is meta name viewport, content, device-width, this is practically the most
essential part of making our site mobile responsive.
Now all we need to do we need to link up this index.HTML with
the CSS file that we have downloaded off the Internet and all those things those are needed
into our project.
We are trying to link up this bootstrap.Min.CSS with
index.HTML.
So this is what we are going to do over here...
So we have successfully linked our bootstrap.min.css with
index.html.
Now the thing remaining here is to link up a particular JavaScript to our index.HTML
and that is why we are going to our body part and linking a
javaScript...as we have linked bootstrap.min.css, these are practically the compressed version
As we can see here, if you look into bootstrap.css it is 143KB, but
bootstrap.min.css is practically 119KB, that means this is a compressed version and that
is why we are using it in our project and as we have linked
bootstrap.min.css into our project, that is why we are going to link bootstrap.min.js
to the same.
So this is what we are going to do.
Press F2, copy the filename and paste it over here as you can see...
Those are the two important things those have been linked with our project.
Now another thing, if you just look into our bootstrap.min.css file, the this is practically
the file that is linked to your index.html.
Another important issue, we are practically not going to make any
kind of changes over here.
That is why we need to create a separate file, a separate custom.css file, where the customization
will be taking place and any kind of changes into our project, we won't make any
changes into our bootstrap.min.css, we will just pick up the required class name or ID
name from here and it will be reused into our custom.css what we have created.
So all we need to do we need to create another cSS file here..
So I am creating a new CSS file and I am naming it
as custom.css.
So now we can see that are custom.css has been produced and if you want to reflect the
changes that you have made here, you have coded inside this
custom.css, then all you need to do you need to first open this index.htm.
Get back to index.htm and after linking the bootstrap.min.css with this index.htm,
now you link the custom.css over here...
Just got it and place it here..
And here we go, we are now ready to go.
Now we are able to create our own custom project with the bootstrap Framework that we have
downloaded off the Internet.
So this is the part that we have to learn from this tutorial, in the next tutorial we
are going to learn some basic things of bootstrap
3 tutorial.
If you have liked a video do not hesitate to hit that red subscribe button.
I hope to see you guys in or next tutorial.
Till then, take care, enjoy learning, bye.

I Want The New Wine - The Jesus I Never Knew - First Baptist Orlando - Duration: 1:33.And no one after drinking old wine desires new, for he says, "the old is good."
That's actually a proverb. That's a Semitic proverb that was used
often to refer to a lot of things. So why would Jesus use that? What is Jesus trying
to say that the old is good? Because it is, until you taste the new
wine. And once you taste the new wine you'll never go back to the old. And what
Jesus was saying to them is, you think the old is good, and it's because you
haven't tried the new. You think your life is good, and you know what, it may be.
Life may be great. I mean we may be doing fine, but have you tried the new
wine? Have you seen have you experienced what Jesus could do in your life? That's
what he's saying. And I promise you, once you taste the new
wine, once Jesus becomes a part of your life, and changing your life, you will
never want to go back to the old! Never. And the only way you know that is to say,
"Jesus, I want the new wine."

False Lightworkers - Duration: 7:45.False Lightworkers
by Anastacia,
False Spiritual Portrayals of souls sharing Pts 1 & 2
Well it seems the time has come around again with those who are out there saying
this and that about different spiritual things and what they have to offer in what their
role is in spirituality.
Now, one can say (as I know I have as this is the 3rd or 4th time I have written about
this over the years) that those who are not all they seem to be will only last so
long and so on.
Yet when one comes from Divine Inner truth, this does not sit well with ones soul
and spirit, with certain souls and I mean very deeply.
I am referring to souls who have followings or state they are such and such in what ever
that may be spiritually when others can feel something does not feel right.
I want to say, that trust your intuition and do not doubt oneself.
Yes, always check in to see if there is something within ourselves that may be
being mirrored yet also, TRUST ones gut feeling.
As this was the case with older souls in the past, and now there are younger souls that
are out there that are being proclaimed to be this and that.
They have all the right words yet I know many are not who they are saying they
are, not underneath they are not.
Which then, with true Divine sharing of souls in the Divine truth, then say what something
is for them, well on paper it can say a similar thing.
Just be aware of those who are popular or well known ARE NOT ALWAYS WHO THEY SEEM
TO BE OR SAY THEY ARE.
I thought that this would change with younger generations coming through in sharing
in more recent times energetically, yet this is not so.
This is still continuing, a type of false light in a way and I say in a way as I am
not putting any one down or judging, just sharing some truths of how there are younger
souls out there now, who are not all they say they are.
As one thing has not changed and that is SPIRITUAL EGOit is just now with a younger generation.
I will share that many of these are now on video.
So many are more newly awake in recent years and even months and so when they do not realize
this, yes I know its part of their journey to do so, this can cause much stress/anxiety.
Yes that is part of their journey as well.
This is giving insight of a bigger picture of something I felt was not going to continue
with younger souls (in human years) but it is.
And if this allows just one soul to then take a step back and feel into what resonates
then that is great.
The wheel turns and as this wheel has turned a few times now, please know just because
someone has many followers or writes or states they are a spiritual or ascension whatever,
that one needs to discern this for themselves and not just take on face value of what
someone says and shares.
Yes, this even happens in the spiritual world.
Again this is SPIRITUAL EGO that these souls like to claim others energies by way of self
inflating or by dominating others energetically and they are very good at this.
Where as those who are more recently awakened, can and do question themselves that this
is my stuff and leave it at that.
Question, question and then questionfeel and trust what does not resonate for you with
others, even if it is a very small inkling, trust that!
Why have I bothered writing this?
When so many know this and will say Oh I do that alreadyas there are many that
are not aware of this.
And also, it is part of my role in Divine Love and Truth and Honesty in cutting through
the Spiritual Ego as I care so very much for humanity.
As I have my Golden Angel wings around humanity in truth and justice as part of who I AM of
the Divine, a Pure and clear vessel of Source/Spirit.
PART TWO
Again, this is those souls who feel this very deeply and cant let this go.
As when we are about truth and justice this goes so very deeply and those that feel this
really understand what I am saying here.
At the same time, this is also an opportunity for US who feel this, to then see and feel
into this for ourselves.as this allows us to grow into our strength and confidence
of who we are in all we are in Divine Truth.
So then we can utilize this to ask ourselves what are we needing to grow into as they are
a mirror for us to help us grow into our own power and to go through the jealousy that
we feel as we do feel this, if we are honest with ourselves and RAISE ABOVE THIS.
To realize we see and feel what not all are in who they say they are, with certain souls
out there.
This was very difficult for myself over the years in doing so much behind the scenes
very hard clearing and healing on myself of deeply within through so many experiences
in life, to then feel and see untruths or something is not quite right with
a soul that was out there.
In the past, I was so disheartened as to false lightworkers when I could FEEL they were not
all what they were saying or sharing, not to the full deep extent I had been through.
And it happened over and over with different souls who were well knownand then it was
a process of realizing that WE ARE THE CHANGE!
Those of us who have been behind the scenes experiencing many traumas and life/death situations
to come through stronger from this and knew we had something to bring to humanity
and then there were these souls who were out there that we KNEW something did not resonate
fully within us as to Divine Truth.
So it is a process and learning for ourselves and the reality of not all are who they seem
or say they are.
And to then LET THIS GO and continue to BE and speak our TRUTH and continue on in all
WE ARE.
We are truthseekers, warriors of truth and injustice and it starts with us coming home
to ourselveslearning to step into our EMPOWERMENT.
And stating what our TRUTHS are and coming from a Heart space of LOVE.
If you feel this, what I have shared here with another soul, take the time to reflect
within yourself what is being triggered and sort through anything that one may need
to own for themselves and then TRUST in what is of Divine Truth as in something still
does not resonate and then carry on in all you and and continue to SHINE YOUR
LIGHT.
As you are definitely not alone.
As always I am right here with you and I have been seeing this for some years now.
Much Unconditional Love, Truth and Honesty

How Often Should You Lubricate A Bike Chain? | Ask GCN Anything Cycling - Maintenance Special - Duration: 16:11.- Hello, and welcome to another Ask GCN Anything.
This week is a special, maintenance themed episode.
You can tell that, because of our change in location
and also because I'm wearing an apron.
Oh yeah, that means it's business time.
Not like that, that would be weird.
Okay, first up we got a question
sent in from Andrew Reitsma about lubrication.
So, he says "Hello from down under."
Hello.
"How often, in kilometres, should a chain be re-lubed
"in dry weather? And, should it be degreased
"every time prior to lubing?"
Wow, that is an absolute can of worms
to get things kicked off with.
A lot of people have very strong beliefs
about looking after their chains and rightly so,
it's an important part of the bike.
But, I think it's also possible to overthink things.
In terms of trying to eek another couple
of hundred kilometres of life out of your chain,
maybe it's not worth getting obsessed about.
But, there is definite do's and don'ts here.
I would say as a rule relube your chain
if it's starting to get dry and noisy
but otherwise, I wouldn't bother.
And then in terms of degreasing,
I'd look to see what the kind of condition the chain is
inside the links, so, between the rollers.
'Cause that's where a chain will get worn
and if it's full of grit and sand and things like that,
that's the point at which you wanna clean it
until it's sparkling like new.
Definitely worth thinking of what kind of degreaser you use.
Don't use any really abrasive, acidic, or alkaline solvents.
Then, that's not very good for the life of your chain.
Most manufacturers would say definitely steer clear.
But, a normal bike-specific degreaser will do the job nicely
every once and a while.
But there are no rules because at the end of the day,
where you ride might be different
to where I ride in the dry.
And you know, like I said, it's impossible
to put an exact number on it but hopefully that helps.
And if nothing else, there should be some good comments
in the comments section down below.
Right then, next up.
We got this one from TomKrouze.
Cool name, Tom.
"What is actually the benefit or importance of stiffness
"on a bike? When, why, do I need a stiff bike?"
Well, that is a very good question actually.
People generally think that a stiff bike is important
for power transfer, so you press on the cranks
and all of your power goes straight to the back wheel
because the bike's not flexing.
However, that ignores an important point which is
that generally energy will not be lost in that system.
Obviously, energy can't be lost
it just gets transferred somewhere else.
So, theoretically if your bike flexes
this wasn't gonna give you that energy back somehow.
So, that is point one I guess.
But, stiff bikes do certainly feel better
on the power transfer.
But actually, what I think is that stiff bikes
really give in terms of handling.
So, I think a stiff front end on your bike
is a very good thing for making a bike feel great
when you're going round corners.
But, it's certainly not important.
You can ride very fast on a very flexy bike.
Okay, next up we've got Haziq Annies,
"Is a bottom bracket interchangeable?
"Can a 24 mil crank spindle fit
"in a BB30 with some adapters?"
Yes, it can.
You've actually got one here, I think.
There ya go.
So, FSA make little adapters.
So this one goes from
a BB386EVO
bottom bracket,
or
yeah.
And it will go down, this is specifically for Sram's GXP,
so that's a 20 something mil spindle, I think. (22mm & 24mm)
Have a look online, you can definitely get adapters
but you can't necessarily adapt all bottom brackets
to fit all types of crank.
So, proceed with caution.
But, yeah, definitely you can do something.
Okay, next up we got this one from Patrick Joseph.
"Almost every bike shop tells you to bring your new bike
"back after a few weeks to retune the gearing,
"is that just an excuse to sell you more stuff?"
No, it's definitely not.
Cables, we say that they stretch, the cables themselves
don't stretch but all the housing
and stuff can compress down
and that can make your gears just a little bit out of tune.
And so all the bike shop needs to do
is just tweak the barrel adjuster
but it's definitely something you can do as well at home.
We've got a great video on the subject.
And in actual fact, we're going to play a bit of it now.
Now, if you derailleur doesn't sit exactly beneath each cog
in turn when you're changing gear,
then the gears are not indexed.
Which is at which point,
then they're gonna be working badly.
And it's the process of indexing to correct that
and to move the derailleur into the right place.
You can micro adjust it very simply.
Okay, we've got a really good question
left under last week's YouTube video.
This one from leecbracing,
or lee cb racing, I'm not sure which.
Anyway, they've asked,
"Why do pros sit so far forward on the saddle?"
Mainly, it's because when you're riding really aggressively
and really fast on flat roads,
you naturally wanna get really low.
And by getting really low, it means that your hips
will rotate forward and therefore, to stay comfortable
and to keep getting the power out,
you will naturally want to slip further forward as well.
It's actually not a new thing, it's been around
for an awfully long time and it's actually the reason
why we have the phrase, on the rivet.
Which is a nice bit of cycling trivia for you,
it comes from when saddles used to be riveted
and people would slide forward on the seat
and literally sit on the rivet at the front there.
The one thing that is new actually now,
is the fact that positions are getting lower
and more stretched out at the front
so saddles are going farther forward
and they're also angled down.
And Matt did a really, really great video
at the recent Tour of Dubai and that one is gonna play
just in one second, worth checking out
to get a bit more information.
- The pros are renowned for their aggressive,
slammed, riding positions but of late
there's been an increasing trend towards the extreme.
(mellow music)
Now, when you consider that my bike is pretty slammed
and by that, I mean, there's a big differential
between bar and saddle height, the same as when I was racing
and compare it to the extremely aggressive position
of Johann van Zyl and you will know what I mean.
Now, we talked to a few riders about why they seem
to be taking things, position wise, to the extreme.
- Well then, quickfire question round now.
Always probably the slowest part of the entire video,
but as ThatsSoNathan commented last week,
"Average speed definitely doesn't matter
"during the rapid fire question round."
So, thank you very much for that Nathan.
Question number one though, Liam Bradley.
Yeah, he's got an issue with his rear wheel.
Sometimes when he pedals it works fine and he moves forward.
Other times the pedal arms just spin
and nothing happens, what's going on?
Well, that is quite a common complaint,
if your rear wheel is getting really old
and it's the free wheel.
So, the bit that sounds really nice
and clicks and it actually allows to not pedal
and coast and then also pedal.
Basically, they can get a bit jammed up with gunk
and general crap over time and so, the little springy bits
that actually allow you to coast
stop springing basically, in a nutshell.
It could well be that you can fix it.
So you really need to check out your manufacturer's website
and see whether they've got any instructions on there.
But, there is a chance that maybe your free wheel
can't be fixed and therefore it may well be terminal.
So, definitely check online first.
Most of the free wheels that we've got
in GCN bikes here, I think can be fixed.
So, hopefully, hopefully you will be in luck.
I'm sure you will be.
Okay, we've now got one from oreosaysb00,
that's a weird name now.
"Why do pros race with 25c tyres
"if 28c tyres save you two to three watts per wheel?"
Now, someone's already very good at answering this.
Lennart Meinke, who said,
"It's a little bit of aero and lots of tradition."
And I'll tell you what,
that's actually not far from the truth.
Sometimes it takes a while for scientific thought
to actually filter down into the Pro Peloton.
Because at the end of the day,
how something feels and what people think
is also really, really important as well.
And, a lot of pros feel that 28s are slower than 25s,
even though maybe the data says something different.
Having said that, 28s are little bit heavier than 25s
and they are less aerodynamic.
Clearly, there's more surface area
to break through the wind.
But I suspect that we will start seeing pros use more 28s,
particularly, as wheels get wider as well.
So, that obviously offsets
some of the aerodynamic disadvantages.
Now, following on from that we got a question
from Amaury, here, who has said they've just got
a new Canyon Aeroad for fast rides, they will be fast.
What do you recommend for tyre sizes, 25 or 28 mil,
Continental GP 4000sII?
Well, given what I've just said,
28s do fit very comfy in there
and if you ride on particularly really poor, abrasive tarmac
then running 50psi in there, will mean
that your bike rolls like a magic carpet
and you will go very, very fast indeed.
If however, you are riding on super smooth tarmac
and aerodynamics are everything and your average speed
is super high, then you may still wanna go with 25c.
But, I definitely would go with the 28c
on there, that's for sure.
Okay, we've now got a series
of questions all linked together as well.
Dan Fish, unfortunately, has just broken his collarbone
and he wants to know how he can use his turbo trainer
to keep the fitness that he's got,
despite this period of convalescence.
So, definitely can with a turbo trainer
and you don't even have to spend all that long in there.
Have a look through the GCN archives, the training sessions.
And if you did maybe one of our 20 or 30 minute sessions
every other day, you will probably find actually
that you will keep your fitness.
It's incredible how little you need to do
in order to stay fit, even if it's a bit harder
to get fit in the first place.
But, one thing I did notice in the weekend Stephen Cummings
won the British National Road Race Champs
and the British National Time Trial Champs,
having not raced for ages 'cause he'd got really bad
injuries after a crash at the Tour of the Basque Country.
And he, did all of his training on Zwift actually,
almost right up until the nationals itself.
Including, some pretty punchy rides at four hours plus.
So, if you've got that option open to you
with a smart trainer or even if you haven't,
all you need is a couple of sensors
then maybe Zwift could well be your answer
with a broken collarbone,
like so many pros are doing at the moment.
Linking on, neatly, to the next question
which is sent in by Sanresh Shedekar,
who's saying that his FTP on the road is 245 watts
but on Zwift his FTP comes down to 205 watts.
He suffers a lot, can we tell him why?
What should he do?
Well, there are various different reasons why your FTP
is generally a little bit lower inside.
But one of the big ones is actually heat,
because our bodies don't like getting too hot
and without the cooling effect of the wind
even with a really good fan in front of you,
you will still find that your FTP
probably comes down a little bit.
So that will be the reason why.
You can try and train in an air conditioned place,
with more fans, that'll certainly help matters
but as long as you train
and test yourself in the same environment.
So, always test it outside or always test it inside,
then actually it's not a problem
if its always 35 watts lower inside.
It's just, you know that it's cause you're hot
and so you can just leave it at that.
But, final linked question, are you ready for this?
Okay, B. Ryder says, "We've all heard of altitude training,
"is there such a thing as heat training?"
Yeah, there is.
Yeah, you can train to get better in the heat.
So if, for example, you live in a cold and wet country
like England but you are training for an event
that's gonna be in a nice, hot sunny country.
Then yeah, actually it's a really good idea
to get a little bit of heat acc limatisation before you go.
And you don't need to do all that much.
So, back when I was racing I got told
to do some turbo training, not intense,
but just riding but in a really hot, humid room.
Maybe even your bathroom.
I believe Matt did it in his garage once.
And as long as you really start to get a sweat on,
you do that for an hour a day, everyday for five days
before you travel, that should get you heat acclimatised.
So, there you go, heat training.
Right.
How was that for quickfire, then?
Probably not terribly quick,
but hopefully the questions got answered alright.
And I guess that's the point.
We could always rename it, call it something different.
Next up, we've got a question from Gabriel Blanchfield.
He's got an odd creaking sound coming
from his crankset area.
There's no visibe damage, the bike's well maintained,
and only occurs when he's in the big ring.
I feel for you, because tracking down creaks on bikes
can be a frustrating process.
Handily, Lasty's bike is hanging just next to me.
So, if it creaks when you're in the big ring
then it could well be because you just put more torque
through the bike and that's why it's creaking.
It could well be your chain bolts
so I'd suggest that you have a look at those,
make sure they're all tightened up properly.
Although, they don't tend to make a creaky noise,
they tend to make like a clicking noise.
It could well be your bottom bracket,
but before you go down that route and get all cross,
then I'd suggest that you actually check out a video
that we've got about how to track down creaks on your bike.
From that video, we then had to go make four more
because there's so many different permutations.
Such as, for example, I had creak that happened.
I was sure it was coming from my crank sets
and every time I got out of the saddle
and it turned out it was my front quick release.
I kid you not, but there you go.
Much easier to deal with than a bottom bracket.
Anyway, the video is gonna play just now, have a look.
A clicking, squeaking bike is deeply annoying
and it can generally ruin your ride.
No bike is immune from the curse,
even top of the range super bikes are susceptible.
Now, as well as ruining your ride
it can also be a sign of something much more serious.
For example, when carbon is damaged and in danger of failing
it can make an almighty creaking noise.
So, it's always a good idea to pay attention
to the sounds even if you can actually
put up with the noise.
Random Bike Trips sent in a really good question,
under last week's show.
"What is the ideal position or angle
"to set your handlebars at.
"You see some that are at a slight incline
"and some that are angled downwards."
Well, a lot depends on the shape of your handlebars
but also it's personal preference.
And actually, it can change over time.
Mine certainly has.
On Lasty's bike here, is an integrated handlebar and stem.
So he actually has no choice and so you can see
that Trek has decided that that is the optimum angle.
And actually, I'd go for that as well.
Two things you probably want to look at.
Firstly, the angle of the handlebar next to your brakehood.
So, do you like it to go down
or do you like a smooth transition?
Most people tend to go for a smooth transition now.
The other thing is, can you hold the drops comfortably?
So, that bit there has to be an angle
that's comfortable for your wrists.
So, generally you don't want too much bending of your wrists
'cause that would be uncomfortable for long periods of time.
Either way, up or down, so kind of generally
you want your wrists in a neutral position
and then, for it to feel nice transitioning
from your handlebar to your brakehood.
We have a video on this subject
that hopefully will give you a little bit of information.
I'd check it out now, if I was you.
The first point we'll cover is handlebar width.
Now, road handlebars typically comes in sizes
from 38 to 46cm wide.
And typically, you would choose your handlebar
based on your height.
Except that height doesn't really have anything
to do with it, it's actually the width of your shoulders.
So, traditionally you would choose a handlebar
that is the same width as the distance
between your AC joints.
That's the knobby bits in your shoulders there.
So, that when you hold your handlebars in the drops,
your knuckles are just outside the line of your shoulders.
Okay, well hopefully I've answered your question.
If I haven't got around to answering yours this week,
then obviously make sure you stick it
in the comments section down below again.
And if you've got a new question entirely
or you're new to the show then submit your questions

Vanlifers New Zealand - Picton to Hunterville - Odd Life Crafting Ep. 1.17 - Duration: 13:42.We are here..
The Picton's ferry departs from here...
So, what's up?
My new style of photographing. Look!
Sometimes it's not possible to see the view from the level we are...
so, if the level is higher we can see way more things.
And now, remaining 5 days for the end of the trip that I figured it out.
Smart guy.
Good morning.
We slept here on the main street of New Zealand.
Is this the 6 or 1?
The 1.
Are we sleeping on the 1?
As you can see not always is possible to sleep around a beach, a lake, a farm.
Sometimes we need to sleep in the middle of the road.
We didn't have a choice. The camping sites close to the ferry were to expensive.
Actually, we wanted to stay in the cheaper ones, but they were a bit further, around 20 minutes driving...
but we were afraid that the road could falls, because part of this road dropped down due to the earthquake.
The road is a bit fragile,
so if another earthquake happen we can remain isolated and won't be possible to catch the ferry.
As we need to catch the ferry and we are late the dish will be meat with canned beans.
It looks delicious.
Well, considering that it's the canned food and barbecue leftover it's great.
Are you filming the toilet song?
Aha, and the flush as well.
We are waiting for the ferry.
That is there.
Washing the dishes.
Oh, tough life.
Behind the toilet.
Do you think there is just the good part?
The ferry departs 50 minutes from now.
I mean, we get inside 50 minutes from now but it leaves in 1 hour and 50 minutes.
Our home is there.
Camouflaged in the middle of the city, it's not like that ones that you can tell they are motorhomes.
Our van is like a regular car.
It's better this way.
Way better.
So, the one that left... I was supposed to be in the one that just left?
We were thinking that we would hit the road again.
We would be in the North Island by now, far away from a earthquake.
Since the earthquake they have cancelled this schedule for the ferry departure,
and I don't know how they booked our schedule, because we booked it after the earthquake, for 10:45.
And we have called them once again to confirm that.
2 days ago I called them to confirm if the time and day were correct. If was everything ok.
They said: it's everything ok, it was not cancelled...
Then we arrived there... a ferry has just departed, that's weird.
Well, must be the first one, because there is one at 9 o'clock.
Then we arrived there and the lady asked if we were booked for 10:45. We said yes.
She said: this one was cancelled since the earthquake and you should be in the one that has just departed.
But how is that possible?
Didn't you receive and e-mail saying that?
No.
But.
We bought the tickets from the rental car company and they didn't send our e-mail for the ferry company.
No, it's not the point. 2 days ago I called the ferry company to ask them about that.
I called to ask if it was everything all right.
Let the truck pass.
But, to make it short, they put us in the ferry that departs at 2 PM now and we just get in at 1PM.
We need to wait...
And we would arrive there at 2PM and now we gonna arrive at 5PM.
Now we need to wait around 3 hours.
Back to our home.
Welcome to Wellington.
We arrived.
Now we need to go to Jamie's house.
The sun, I love that.
We are going to Jamie's house and decide if we will stay here today or hit the road.
What do you think?
I don't know.
She never knows.
It's the felling, you need to follow your felling.
We will go until Jamie's and from there we can decide, according to the traffic...
A challenge was made. Let's see if it's possible to arrive at Jamie's house without a map.
The game that we have played almost every night during our trip, now is no longer with us.
Unfortunately for the next nights we won't have the game anymore.
So, are we stay here or continue the trip?
Let's hit the road again?
Do you know how to leave here?
Do we need to go up or down the street?
Down. I'm going to check that.
You don't know.
It's funny. We arrived during the night and it was not possible to see this place.
There is someone camping in the middle of the grass.
We arrived here really late.
It was 11PM.
We ended up driving until late night.
We arrived here were supposedly it's possible to spend the night.
It was possible to see nothing, we didn't find the toilet.
We parked and slept.
It was a cold night.
Ahum.
We go to the north island that was supposed to be warmer and then it gets cold.
Because we are clean people.
Sometimes.
Sometimes. Put some water here for me.
I little more than halfway.
Ok.
Just to explain. They aren't understanding what is going on.
We are transferring the images to the computer.
The daily battle.
But with this camera we record long videos, so it takes to long to transfer.
To film is fun, but to transfer images to the computer is much more fun, but it's not.
You need to transfer, but first you need to choose the correct folders to save in.
After you choose it you need to separate videos from the photos. Each video we put in a different folder...
The specific place folder, with one specific situation... after that we need to give a name for each video...
After you do all of this we can edit what you are watching.
We still need to find some musics.
We have this part as well.
But we are getting dedicated, we are managing to maintain an organization.
So, baby. Today is the last day.
Maybe today was the last night in the Vanda.
Vanda, you were sweet, you have treated us very well.
Even though you are a shelter for lots of spiders we got used to live with them.
They are our friends now.
I think his camera is out of angle.
No.
It was good because we are not scared of spider anymore.
If you think about them here it wouldn't be possible to sleep.
Every day a new big spider net is created in this car, that means that must have a lot of spiders around here.
But, Vanda treated us very well and we are already missing her.
How many kilometers does she have?
Today, 3563 km, but we still need to drive until Tauranga.
I think until the airport we gonna make 4 thousand kilometers.
And how many kilometers overall?
Overall?
419 thousand kilometers.
I guess I have never ridden in a car with this amount of mileage.
Half million of kilometers.
Now we are going to? Taupo?

Take care.
