¿Cómo IBM Storage encaja en la Era Cognitiva? - Presentación, Carlos Ontaneda - Duration: 10:01.
Good Morning everyone, today we are going to talk about the roll
of the storage infrastructure in the cognitive era.
First of all, ¡Welcome to the cognitive era!
The new era where the digital business with the artificial intelligence
join together to transform the industries and transform the world.
Ehm .. But ¿How are we going to analyze what is the infrastructure and the support to reach the cognitive era?
Well, first I want to show you the components that we are going to analyze today:
First, the data. The data is the natural resource of the base.
And we want to get to the cognitive age to support these systems, that is the goal we want.
But to achieve this, we need to have a platform, a platform that expands beyond the company itself
and that brings together the data center of the companies with the public and private clouds.
What we call the hybrid cloud.
And to achieve this, we need something that engages all, whatever the architecture.
And that is going to be achieved based on software, what we call today "software define storage"
definition of storage by software.
And, the base, the foundation of all this will be our storage solutions that will support what we need.
Le'ts begin with the first point. The data.
That natural resource that we all have, that companies are going to start, businesses and individuals are going to start exploiting.
¿What types of data do we have today?
We have our own data in our companies, which are typically structured data about our clients' databases,
information about their transactions, the movements,
the states that we manage internally, the results, for example, within the company
They are structured data that we manage.
But at the same time, we want data beyond the company, unstructured data that are on social networks,
on mobile devices. And even, we began to see data that transcend these two qualifications,
which are data coming from abroad. For example: provided by the internet of things,
which can present us with sensory information,
weather information, different topics that we can organize so our cognitive systems can work.
And ... ¿Which is our cognitive systems?
Cognitive systems are intelligent systems, capable of learning.
They have been trained by leading industry insiders
and they can interact with humans, naturally, through language, vision, listening.
That is, those are the cognitive systems. They can learn
and can give us a lot of information that would not be so easy to know or interpret for people.
To achieve this, cognitive systems need access, as we speak, to data that is clouded within companies
in private clouds, public clouds today of wide dominance
So the platform on which it must be executed today is the hybrid cloud.
It is the cloud in which applications and data are distributed by different places.
Typically, they ask me a lot…
But what are the data that are distributed in different,
in the different clouds or are kept inside the company?
I wanted to show you here, we have an example of applications
according to a last study that we have done
in which you can see today that the main applications or the main data that have been saved in the clouds today
are data of CAP of ARC AIDING, data for disaster recovery.
Today, 20% of all information is stored in public clouds.
And there are other data that are better suited to keep them internally in our data center,
such as: Critical applications that require broad access to information very quickly,
with very little latency, very fast data, databases that need to interact with each other
At high speeds connected by a high-speed network.
They are typical applications that we keep in our data center.
But all this has to be shared, which is why the hybrid cloud platform is the foundation.
Now, how do we get the storage infrastructure to work and allow us to share this?
What do we need? The strategy there, worldwide and also adopted by IBM
is to use software to achieve this definition. What is used is software define storage.
¿What is Software Defined storage?
Software Defined storage is software that allows us to have all the necessary functions of storage
data protection, distribution, compartment,
that can be done and that can be executed in devices, that I can buy anywhere in the market.
Standard hardware, I do not need to be tied to a specific brand.
The software can run on any of these hardware according to my needs
of faster, slower, more economical devices... I can use them.
And what functions should they give me?
They should give me functions, data protection, control, and structure management,
but also allow me to transparently expand
expand that I can have data in the cloud and data in my company
and that I can share or transport in a natural way
Without the need of a manual process.
And the basis of all this, of this architecture is going to be storage.
Storage is the basis for making all infrastructure truly interconnected.
It must be a storage that allows me to work in a hybrid cloud
because it allows me to have all the functions of data protection,
distribution of data, and that can keep them in a safe and economic.
Now
¿ How does IBM provide value to our customers in the cognitive era?
First of all, IBM
has been named for the third consecutive time as the number 1 provider of software-defined storage solutions
Software defined Storage
It is the third year, we are recognized by IDC, by gartner,
we are number 1 in many of the software solutions
but above all we are leading a joint aspect
a unique solution that unites all the storage within a hybrid cloud
In a transparent way and using different hardware storage providers, that can be any other.
That's point number one.
Second and an important point is that we provide a software-defined infrastructure for storage
that will allow the company to be able to use any storage
shared for different applications
Typically in the companies the applications were handled many in silos.
I had an application with its data that handled everything that was the central system of the company
had another intended to work with everything was new analytical systems to get information
had another that suddenly wanted to handle unstructured information with hadoop
today with software defined storage of IBM,
the promise of value that we have is that
can be realized can join the different systems and share
achieving great savings for customers in what is equipment investment
and second and very important, achieving the agility to move within the cognitive world.
So, in summary
about what we have today and what we are talking about is
The data, are the asset
the assets of the companies, the asset that you can exploit, that is also freely available.
We want to reach a cognitive world,
in which we can use all this data to obtain information that gives us a competitive advantage.
Third
the hybrid cloud is the platform on which all cognitive applications will be mounted
in the future and from today.
Fourth, the architecture is Software defined.
It is the software that will allow me flexibility
and it will be the gear between all this storage.
Fifth point is,
the storage infrastructure is important,
it is the one that will allow us to have the whole hardware set
according to its speed, or cheaper or faster, combined with the software to support our cognitive systems.
Thank you very much,
for more information you can download the presentation there in the link attached in the description
or you can get more information with us from our web pages
or by calling any of your local IBM representatives
thank you very much.

The Real Reason Why Hollywood Dumped Breckin Meyer - Duration: 4:50.
If you were alive in the mid-to-late 1990s, there's no way you missed Breckin Meyer's
memorable heyday in Hollywood.
From Clueless, where he played the role of a delightfully earnest skater boy, to Road
Trip, where he will forever be remembered as the sweetest guy ever to cheat on his girlfriend
on video, Meyer was blessed with great comic timing and a totally winning brand of regular-dude
charm.
"This is so unexpected, I don't even have a speech prepared!"
Why, then, isn't he in the movies anymore?
Hang tight as we investigate.
He peaked in the '90s
Much like Weezer, Orange Julius, and the Delia*s catalog, Breckin Meyer is very much a '90s
brand.
And while he did continue to pop up onscreen after the turn of the twenty-first century,
his memorable turns in movies like Clueless, Can't Hardly Wait, and The Craft made him
forever synonymous with a certain archetype of vintage teen-hood.
Not only are these decades-old films still the ones he's best known for, but Meyer's
persona and aesthetic was so totally at home in the '90s that he's practically an icon
of the era.
Great news for a cult-classic reunion tour, but not so helpful when it comes to landing
roles in contemporary Hollywood.
Not their type
At a trim five foot five, and with the ageless, tanned complexion of so many Los Angeles dudes,
Breckin Meyer is still too youthful-looking to be convincing as a middle-aged dad type
onscreen.
At the same time, at 42, he's too old to play a teenager.
That doesn't mean he's entirely out of luck, especially in comedy, where you don't have
to be George Clooney to headline a hit movie.
But it does narrow the field when it comes to what kind of roles he can reasonably pursue.
Heard and not seen
If Breckin Meyer doesn't show up on screen much these days, it might be because he's
already got all the work he can handle as a voice actor.
Meyer has been a major presence on the stop-motion animated series Robot Chicken for the entirety
of the its seven-season run, as well as playing Joseph Gribble on King of the Hill between
2000 and 2010.
And more recently, you might have heard him on SuperMansion.
With so many characters in need of his vocal talents, does Breckin Meyer even need to make
movies?
Upstaged by Garfield
Whether it's a trio of chipmunks or an iconic orange cat, starring opposite a cartoon animal
can be a risky career move.
For Breckin Meyer, signing on to the Garfield franchise was perhaps, in hindsight, not the
greatest decision.
Not only was Meyer's charm totally wasted in the bland role of Jon Arbuckle, but after
making one movie, he was then contractually obligated to appear in a sequel called Garfield:
A Tale of Two Kitties.
If ever there were such a thing as a title that could kill a career… well, you know.
Flippity flopped
It's been nearly a decade since Breckin Meyer made a feature film, and even longer since
he starred in one — but the most recent movies on his resume haven't exactly been
hits.
From Ghosts of Girlfriends Past to Stag Night, Meyer's projects aren't earning critical or
commercial success; in many cases, they're barely even being distributed.
And when they do find an audience, the response tends to range from tepid to downright insulting.
His last feature-length movie, a mockumentary called 3 Geezers! in which Meyer played a
satirical version of himself, was derided by the few critics who even bothered to review
it as "terrible," "painful," and "remarkably unattractive-looking."
Ouch.
Celebrity insomniac
If a good night's rest is essential to being camera-ready, it's no surprise that Breckin
Meyer isn't turning up on-screen lately.
The actor is probably the most famous insomniac on Twitter, where he can frequently be found
between the hours of one and five o'clock a.m. composing poetry about his inability
to sleep.
Despite feeling sorry for his struggle, we also selfishly hope he doesn't get a prescription
for Ambien, because his feed is hilarious.
The producer path
Many actors who got started on the young side find success behind the camera later in life
— but Breckin Meyer's brief foray into creating a series from scratch, with the TBS comedy
Men at Work, didn't pan out as he hoped.
The show had a cute premise and a talented cast including That 70s Show alum Danny Masterson,
but it never found its audience.
Instead, it was cancelled by the network after three underwhelming seasons, and Meyer didn't
make a second attempt at a producing career.
Prime time hopes dashed
The most adult and serious role of Meyer's career was on the TNT legal comedy-drama Franklin
& Bash, where he played the titular Franklin opposite Mark Paul Gosselaar.
Unfortunately, not even the draw of a 1990s icon and a Saved by the Bell heartthrob could
keep the series afloat long-term.
The New York Times summed it up best with a middling review that declared,
"The problem is that Franklin and Bash themselves are resolutely uninteresting."
And after its four-season run concluded, the show wasn't enough of a hit to launch a renaissance
for Breckin Meyer on prime time.
How he can turn it around
In truth, Breckin Meyer may not need or want to make any big changes to his professional
life; he's got plenty of work as a voice actor, and plenty of energy left to goof off for
his fans on Instagram.
But if he's keen to get back in front of the camera, he's still a solid supporting actor,
and he's got lots of friends in Hollywood — including Seth Green and Mark Paul Gosselaar
— who he can collaborate with on the kind of lighthearted comedic films he's always
been so good at.
Meyer might not be a six-foot, chiseled dreamboat, but he's still in great shape and has an adorable
face that would make him a great addition to one of Hollywood's signature ensemble romances.
Might we suggest, a Clueless sequel?

Guru Purnima New Teachings: The Subtle Body - Duration: 2:29.
The Subtle Body controls the physical body.
This is a new teaching that I'm going to give - that Karma is in both in the physical
body as well as in the Subtle body.
Fo far we have tried only in general methodologies to remove Karma.
Now, in this [Guru Purnima] session, we are going to go into the Subtle body and remove
the blockages, the bad Karma, which are patterns that you have been following, that you are
following that are specific thought patterns that you have.
And I'm going to have you to work on those patterns.
I'll give you an example [of] what are the patterns.
The patterns are like -- you are like an island -- meaning that you do not want to interact
with people.
You are by yourself and in your closet.
And then, you don't have – you don't trust others.
And others don't trust you.
This is the case with most people.
And because of that, you know, you don't get help from others.
So, you have to make sure to make a list of all of those patterns that you have which
are mostly unconscious.

أجمل جامعات زرتها في بريطانيا | Jana vlogs - Duration: 16:52.
What's up?
Greetings 'Jana's Friends'
What's new with you? I hope you're all doing well
a lot of you are always asking me about Britain and the Universities here
and you'd love to come study here
the city of Edinburgh in Scotland
invited me to visit the city
and visit its Universities
Edinburgh has 4 universities
on the first day, I visited two of them
at Heriot-Watt University
I met some Saudi students that were completing their PhD's
if you're thinking of studying engineering
there's all kinds of engineering courses at this university
Civil engineering, chemical engineering
mechanical engineering
if you like physics, or if you want to study petroleum engineering
I really want to press this button
Heriot-Watt is a campus university
so all the buildings you need are on one huge plot of land
So the halls, the classrooms, the library
and the restaurants
and the gym, everything is there in the space
their fitness centre
was the most incredible one I've ever seen
you can probably see it from a satellite in space
they have the biggest indoor football pitch in the whole of Europe
and then, they took me to the room with the robot
the robot
they sat me infront of a robot
kid, a kid robot
and the robot spoke to me
like I sat in front of him, and he looked at me, into my eyes
and spoke to me
when I move, it follows me
one of the universities' biggest advantages
is that because they have such a vast space, there's so many facilities and services for the students
depending on what you want to study
they have all the facilities you need on campus
after we finished up at Heriot-Watt
we went to the second university
okay now we're at...
at Edinburgh Napier University
they're going to show us the design students' exhibition
I saw this lamp
I really liked
it has shelves so you can put your books
that you're reading, around the lamp itself
we've entered a room
I'm not sure what it is exactly
but we can listen to stuff
this is the architecture students' work
could you imagine making this?
it would be impossible
this guy is called
John Napier
the university is named after him
there's a section of the building that was his house
this is his house, John Napier
they built this whole university building
around the building, it's awesome
okay we just got in a cab to the university's second location
this is their building
they teach nursing
in a really incredible way
okay so this room
looks exactly like a hospital
so they can teach students
how to treat the patients
this is a sick patient
poor guy, look at him
I don't know if you can see but
his chest is moving, so it looks like he's breathing
you can feel his pulse if you put your fingers here
this thing can cry
and sweat
so they can teach students how to take care of patients in the hospital
of course these aren't real patients
they use this dummy to teach students
how to help a woman who's giving birth
the teachers watch from behind the glass to see if the students are doing it right
they can even make the dummy cry if they get something wrong
it's really awesome that you can learn something with this much detail
if you saw this room, it looks exactly like a real hospital
so it's awesome that they're teaching them with this level of detail
this is the room the teachers watch from
and then here
I don't know if you can see it or not
see how it looks like there's a baby there?
this is the same baby
that was birthed from this dummy
they've put him right here
it's moving!
this room
looks exactly like someone's house
but it's not a house, we're still at the university
and the point is that they teach the students
how to treat patients who are living at home
if someone is elderly, or sick and living at home
so they have this thing
so they allow the students to feel exactly how the patient is feeling
when they're at home and unwell
so they're going to make me try it
I'm trying to move my hair away from my face but I can't reach it
I'm wearing these glasses that make me not see properly
and then these are weights
so it's hard for me to move my arms
and then I'm also wearing these headphones
they're playing a really annoying noise
that as people get older, they start to hear
the experiment is for me to try to
be wearing all of this stuff while I get in and out of bed
they gave me this crutch to help me out
how am I supposed to lie down with scoliosis?
and then we went into the A&E simulation room
look at this poor guy
what happened to him?
and they made me put make up on the dummies
so I can make it look like it's injured
at the end of the night, they took me to a restaurant called Badger & Co
I'm not exaggerating, all of the food I ate at Edinburgh
is so so unbelievably delicious
okay we're doing with the first day
on the second day, we visited the last two universities
the first university we saw is called Queen Margaret University
the amount of students in this university
is less than the other universities we saw
so if you like a calmer atmosphere
and for everything you need to be in one building
without getting lost in a huge space
you'd like this university
We're now at Queen Margaret University
they're showing us around the whole campus
it looks awesome so far
we're going to take a look into the departments that they specialise in
they're going to show us the work they do here
look how many computers they have
this university is considered a campus uni
so all of the buildings you need are in one space
but there's a train that takes you to the town centre in 6 minutes
this is the accommodation
and this is the university itself
so as you can see, it's really close by, you can wake up and go to your class straight away
there's something really awesome they do at this university
if you live on campus and you've just arrived
and you don't know anyone
they organise events to help people get to know each other
so you can make friends with people and not be all on your own
this is of course great if you're Saudi students
and you don't know anyone in the whole country of Scotland
this is old technology
that they used to use to help people who have difficulty hearing
this department is really really awesome
they teach people who have speech impediments
especially young children who are still learning to speak
so now they're going to use a machine show me how my tongue moves
with my throat, while I'm trying to pronounce words and letters
this is the ultrasound machine
it's going to show how my tongue moves
when I talk
so in this room, they help companies test food out to see what people prefer
with these tests, they can figure out how to change the recipe for something
for example, to reduce sugar or salt
so the food is healthier but the taste doesn't change
okay now we're tasting types of jam
and we have to choose what we think is the most delicious
this was my favourite, and it turned out to be the most delicious
you can see the beach
at the end of this line
the last thing they showed us
were some films made by students who studied here
they were incredible, I'll give you a link in the description
so if you like film
this university is great for it
and finally, we visited The University of Edinburgh
The University of Edinburgh is the 6th oldest university in the English speaking world
the university is made up of several buildings scattered around the city centre
okay we've arrived at The University of Edinburgh
check out how old this building is
this was opened in 1583
the art and design courses at The University of Edinburgh are extremely strong
as we were walking through the buildings
it was impossible not to know that you were in the art department
because I visited the uni at the end of the school year
they were showing the students' final projects
my favourite thing at the exhibition
was one of the students' projects on the pound
the pound is the currency in Britain
one pound is a coin about this size
and they say one in every... I think it was 13 pound, is counterfeit
it's not real
so the student put 13 pound coins next to each other
and one of them was made of gold
so the fake pound was actually more valuable than the real pound
this is the former medical school building
if you were to study health and nursing at here
you'd be in this awesome building
okay we just saw the art exhibition and now we're going to the main library
parts of The University of Edinburgh are based in the city centre
so if you study here you may be in the city centre
the last thing we saw at The University Edinburgh
was the art collection that was stored underground in the library's basement
this was incredibly amazing
they have 2,500 pieces they collected over 400 years
in all of the universities in Britain, there's something called a student union
I don't know if there's something similar outside of Britain or if it's called something different
if you translated student union it would be 'itihad al-tulab'
this is basically an organisation that is concerned with the lives of the students
it's separate from the university
it's responsibilities are to look after students and student life outside of studying
The University of Edinburgh has the oldest purpose-built Student Union
oh, and while we were walking around the university
we found a mosque right in the heart of the city
and just like that, we've been through all of Edinburgh's universities
the same night, I had dinner at a restaurant called The Printing Press
I ate some delicious seafood, like I said
the food in Edinburgh is excellent
the third and final day in Edinburgh was a tour of the city itself
today, we've gone up to Edinburgh Castle
here's the castle
these are the castle's guards
there's one there
and one here
the castle is built on a hill called Castle Rock
it's been around for a thousand years, and royal families have lived in it until 1633
there's a museum in the castle itself
these were the kings of Scotland
okay, we left the castle and we're now at a museum
it's called Camera Obscura
these are all mirrors
they reflect forever
okay so in this room you can move these little things
and there's cameras in the city itself
so you can observe the city from these cameras
you can watch people
and then I went to a couple of restaurants for lunch and dinner
the first restaurant I went to is called George IV
I ate fish and chips
it's a really popular dish in Britain
it's fried fish with some potato chips
I really really love fish and chips
and the food was amazing as usual
the last restaurant I went to is called Stramash
it was quite unusual, the building itself was extremely old
and there was a band playing rock music in the evening
everyone was enjoying themselves
but for me, the best part was the pizza I ate
I think it's the first time I've finished a whole pizza on my own
it probably made me put on weight
if you ever wanted to visit Edinburgh University
I'd highly recommend the hotel DoubleTree by Hilton
it's location is incredible, the hotel is very nice
and I had a perfect view of Edinburgh Castle
there was also something called CityCabs
which is an app that you can order taxis from
it's also something very useful to use if you ever visit
and that's it! we've reached the end of the video, don't forget to give it a like and subscribe
I honestly love filming useful videos for you guys
so if there are other things you want to learn about in Britain
let me know in the comments
and that's it, thank you Jana's Friends, I'll see you soon

first because last time it just kind of happened like I just explored all the
rooms and I went up to them maybe that's why I have to do maybe I took explore
all the rooms feel like I'm so random though and she just randomly pops out ah
that's where I need to go Oh God come on that's ready to go
um stupid oh okay I'm just going to keep going in and out of the north room until

in store for us in the annex mysterious room now that it's unlocked use an X key
let's see what's it all this looks lovely well well that's it looks just
like the mansion but like darker and everything so anyway I'm gonna go ahead
and finish the episode off here so we found out that apparently when you get
attacked by the blue demon you turn into an Oni so that's that's good that's
that's awesome so anyway after Emilien chase seems later we progressed to the
next portion of the game which looks ridiculous is to start to get intense
like mansion within a mansion with in a mansion etc so anyway hope you guys
enjoyed it guys did enjoy make sure you slap that like button underneath this
video and until next time I'll see you guys later

The Fixies ★ The Cell Phone and The Night Light ★ Fixies English 2017 | Cartoon For Children - Duration: 11:40.
Can you believe that Fixies are Such itty-bitty creatures?
Even when they're magnified It's hard to see their features.
They're tiny, infinitesimal, So small it makes you doubt.
But if you meet a Fixie, please, Don't let their secret out!
The Cellphone
Hey, Nolik! Come on out and play!
He is not allowed.
He was punished.
Can you tell me what you did?
I grabbed a pack-o-mat, and I forgot to ask.
How long do you have to sit there?
Until Masiya and Papus come home from their… boosiness.
What did you say?
Business. A work trip.
They're inside of your father's cellphone right now.
They were busy doing repairs in there when he left the house for work.
Do you know the reason why a mobile phone is also called a cellphone?
Mobile phones are connected to other mobile phones with the help of special radio stations
that are put on top of towers and building roofs.
Each one of these stations sends signals to it's own area below.
And each area is called a cell.
A mobile phone works anywhere it can find a nearby station that it can connect to.
So as long as there is a station nearby you can talk as much as you want.
You can even move from one cell to another.
And without you ever knowing it your mobile phone will switch from one station to another one.
So your conversation can keep on going
even if you're running after a bus or riding on it!
Tom Thomas, hello!
There you go! My dad came back home already.
Hi Dad! How are you?
Can you believe it? It looks like I lost my phone!
What do you mean you lost it? Where?
I have no idea!
So what, I'm gonna have to sit in here forever now?
You? Our parents are missing!
The phone stopped shaking a while now.
We're probably already at home.
Not home to me!
How can we ever get home to our children?
- Where is my Masiya? - Don't whine. We'll work something out.
Don't worry!
I got a phone! Let's give them a ring!
They can't answer your call.
But what if they answer us? Call them, Tom Thomas!
- I th… - Don't even think it!
We're not allowed to talk to humans!
We're not going to talk to them.
We're just gonna listen. We need to close the contacts.
It's no use.
Oh! They answered the phone!
Let me talk!
Papus, Masiya! It's me, Simka!
Simka?
Yeah! Masiya, where are you?
In the telephone!
The phone part is not what she's asking you!
Oh! It smells a lot like gasoline in here.
Ask your father, was he anywhere around gasoline?
Dad!
Dad, did you go anywhere today where it smells like gasoline?
Gasoline?
I had to go to the gas station.
That's the place where your telephone disappeared!
Are you sure?
Yeah!
Well, I've got…
Intuition.
Intuition?
Intuition, ah?
You know what?
I'll go check.
Tideesh!
Come and check out our fixie-ringtone!
Your telephone is…
Your telephone is…
Your telephone is, telephone is, Tele-, tele-, tele-, tele-, telephone is…
Zing-bing – your telephone is Ringing – your telephone is
Ringing – your telephone is Ringing, won't you answer please?
Zing-bing – your telephone is Ringing – your telephone is
Ringing – your telephone is Ringing, won't you answer please?
Your phone is ringing!
It's just incredible!
You see? I found it!
Son, you're one clairvoyant!
I didn't notice when it fell out of my pocket back at the gas station!
- My children! - Oh, my Masiya!
Papus!
Ah, my sweeties!
So... just by any chance…
You think you might happen to know where I can find that nice watch I lost?
No.
Don't worry, there is no rush. Just use that... intuition you've got!
They take care of our machines: Irons, phones, and toasters,
MP3s and TV screens, Even rollercoasters.
Without them clocks stop ticking, Without them lights go out!
But if you meet a Fixie, please, Don't let their secret out!
The Night Light
They're very close! I feel them!
Help me! Help me!
Help me!
That's all! You've had enough monsters.
It's not good to watch these kind of movies before bed!
Mom! Mom! Really, I'm not scared.
Let me watch the end. Would you?
I told you, that's all.
Well, good night, Honey!
Who's there?
They are very close.
I feel them.
Can you believe it? He's sleeping and he didn't turn the light off!
Yeah, and so?
And so? If every human went to sleep with the light on,
there wouldn't be enough electricity to go around.
Everyone can probably remember walking into an empty room with the lights turned on.
Or finding a TV on that nobody's watching.
One little light or TV might not seem like much,
but just imagine how many people are living on this Earth!
Well if everybody forgot to turn off the lights or TV when they weren't being used,
the amount of wasted electricity would equal the amount of energy produced by a hundred power plants!
And each of these power plants needs freight cars of coal or rivers of oil to keep running.
And all that fuel has to be extracted and burned constantly!
Now do you see how expensive burning a light bulb is for the Earth?
So don't forget to turn off the electrical appliances when you're not using them.
It's so easy!
Who turned off the light?
They're very close! I feel them.
I feel them.
Look! What's up with him?
I think he's playing sleep-hockey.
Looks like his position is left out.
Ha-ha. Anyway, he should get a penalty for wasting electricity!
Monsters!
Hey, what do you think we are? Hockey pucks?!
Nolik, Simka! Forgive me.
Who did you think we were?
Monsters.
Well, I see how you could mistake Simka for one but obviously not me.
Tom Thomas, what are you doing? Why are you sleeping with the light on?
I was so dumb!
I watched this monster movie on TV before bed.
Now I'm scared to sleep without the light on.
And that dumb old monster flick, why were you watching it?
I felt like getting scared.
You're great at getting scared!
Keep quiet! Or we'll wake up your mom and dad!
How am I going to fall asleep now?
Here's a good idea! You can use a night-light!
A night-light is a little light that humans who don't like to sleep in the dark use in their rooms.
The night-light has a dim glow,
that's because it works with a special kind of light bulb that uses very little electricity.
These kinds of light bulbs are called energy efficient.
That's hard to say.
And you can find night-lights that use such low energy bulbs
that they can work off of a battery.
But you know there isn't a night light here.
How would you get by without us! Tonight I'm here to help you.
I'm gonna be your night-light!
Look! Right there! There's our lampshade!
Thanks so much! You really are a friend indeed, Nolik!
It was easy. Just go to sleep.
Nolik... do you know any good stories?
I know one about... a big meat grinder!
No way!
You better tell me a story about a nice kind Fixie.
I know a good one!
And here is how it goes.
Grandpus was working inside of a very big clock.
Actually the clock wasn't that big.
And I'm not sure if it was Grandpus.
But it was a clock... I think.

Wonky 9 Patch How to PLUS 4 Tips for Successful Quilt Blocks | Whitney Sews - Duration: 6:29.
Hi everyone! I'm Whitney and I post sewing tutorials every Wednesday here on Whitney
Sews. Today I'll be showing how to sew wonky 9 patch quilt blocks. Make sure to stick around
to the end because I'll be sharing some extra tips to make this block and all your other
quilt blocks more successful. If you haven't already, make sure to hit that red subscribe
button down below so you don't miss out on any of my future tutorials. Now let's get
into the video.
To make the wonky 9 patch blocks you will need 9 different fabrics cut into squares,
a rotary cutter, and new blade, a clear ruler, and a cutting mat. I really recommend using
a square ruler to cut your fabric. Mine is a 12.5 inch square that came in a pack with
a few other square rulers. I'll have all the supplies I used linked below in the description
box.
Decide how you want your wonky blocks to look. I went with a more symmetrical look, but you
can make yours however you want. Just keep in mind that you don't want any pieces to
be skinnier than 1.5 inches. Stack all nine fabric squares up as straight as possible.
Use a ruler and rotary cutter to carefully cut through all the layers at once. Make two
cuts in each direction – four cuts in total leaving you with nine stacks of pieces.
Take the first piece off the second stack and put it on the bottom. Then take the top
two from the third stack and put them on the bottom. The top three from the fourth stack
and so on until each stack has a different fabric on the top.
Now it's time to piece them all together. Sew the top piece from each stack together
in rows of three. Then sew the three rows together. Make sure to press each of the seams
with your iron so they all lay flat and look nice. Repeat until you have all nine of your
blocks sewn together. This is a pretty quick and easy block to sew together and once you
add some sashing and borders you can turn it into a great baby quilt or lap quilt. I'll
have a separate video later showing finishing the quilt.
Now onto those extra tips for better quilt blocks. The most important for this particular
block is to have a sharp rotary cutter blade and make accurate cuts. I switched my rotary
cutter blade to a new one right before starting. I have a little video showing how to easily
and safely change your rotary blade that I'll link right up here in the information icon.
The next tip is to have a consistent seam allowance. Not everyone can sew a perfect
¼ inch seam...but as long as you keep your seam allowance consistent
it will keep your block looking great. You also want to make sure you press every seam
nicely and alternate the directions you press the seams so they nest nicely when you sew
the blocks together. My last tip is to consider using starch. I
usually don't use starch, but it really helped on this project to keep all my cuts and seams
nice and straight without any stretching or warping.
Click right over here to see the other quilt how tos I've done here on Whitney Sews and
click right down here to subscribe to my personal channel. Come back next Wednesday for another
new video and until then, happy sewing!

A Song About Banana Mountains - Duration: 4:51.
I also bought a new camera
Yet again take the six first Youtube comments
Spin them on a fidget spinner and then make a song about the subject that wins the spin
This weeks winner is Banana Mountains
Banana mountains
Lets people buy em
Without the mountains
No one will buy em
Banana Mountains!!!
I don't really see why
The bigger the mountain the faster it goes away
I can but figure most people like
When there is abundance of anything
I can gladly keep it up
But when I fill my banana mountain to the top
I start to wonder how much time
It takes for it for me to make it again
BANANAMOUNTAIN!
BANANANANANA! MOUNTAINSSSS!!!
BANANA MOUNTAINS!
banana mountains.
Banana Mountains!
I guess I like banana mountains
I really like this song!
especially with the uh, what's it called organ?
Yeah I love the organ
I also love this camera
Oh man this is good stuff
Shit
Well, well, till next time
Next week I will have more time
Because I will be free this weekend
I wasn't free this weekend
So I have been working my ass off
So hopefully the next song will be even better
See you!

Oil Immersion Microscopy Animation - Duration: 0:39.
Let's talk about oil immersion.
We need to use oil to see at the highest magnification.
Without getting too technical there's an air gap between the top of the coverslip
and the front lens.
This gap actually causes light to bend or refract.
These scattered rays of light don't travel through the objective lens and are lost to
the image.
Oil affects the light a lot like glass does, so we replace the air gap with oil and suddenly
we're able to see higher resolution images.
