Roger Ver - Entrevista Exclusiva para o Canal Dash Dinheiro Digital Brasil em Anarchapulco 2018 - Duration: 12:59.

hi everybody Rod here from Dash

digital cash Brazil we're in Anarchpulco

Mexico Acapulco and today I have the

pleasure to interview the biggest name

in Bitcoin in the world today Roger Ver

welcome to the program. Thank You, it is a

pleasure to meet you and I want to start

on a positive note saying that I've got

into Bitcoin around 2014 after following

and and finding some videos of you on

on YouTube talking about Bitcoin &

cryptocurrencies today the entire

cryptocurrency ecosystem and I'm talking

about Bitcoin core Bitcoin cash Dash Digital

cash Ethereum we wouldn't be where we

are today if it wasn't for your initial

investment and and how you believe into

this new technology that would change

how we organize societies and for that

we must pay you always pay the maximum

respect to you and I thank you for that. thank

you

so Roger today what is the biggest

advantage for us regarding understanding

the truth vision of Satoshi Nakamoto

once we talk about Bitcoin cash

so I don't think it's the fact that it's

Satoshi's vision that that's important I

think it's the fact that we have the

empirical evidence showing that it works

and before the invention of Bitcoin I

had my back educational background was

in economics so I had all this evidence

from books mainly and some empirical

evidence as well so it's a whole other

story

that I knew people were gonna start

using Bitcoin as money and so the

economic formula that the original

Bitcoin had I knew people were gonna

start using as money so my goal was to

go out there and build all the tools to

make it easier

for people to start using it as money

and sure enough with that economic

formula Bitcoin became this worldwide

phenomenon that it is today and Bitcoin

core today has veered off of that

economic code onto something else that

all of my educational background tells

me isn't likely to work and so the

original code economic code for Bitcoin

is that the transactions were fast cheap

and reliable and we thought private now

Bitcoin core has the exact opposite they

want to be slow expensive and unreliable

well we have you know 7 or plus years 8

plus years of empirical evidence on

Bitcoin knowing that it works incredibly

well when the transactions are fast

cheap and reliable and people start

using it all over the world

I'm not bullish on the future of Bitcoin

core I'm incredibly bullish on the

future of Bitcoin cash because it has

that same economic hype that led to it

becoming his success in the first place

and so the important part isn't that

it's satoshi's vision because this is

what Satoshi wrote in the white paper

the important part is that we know that

it works and if something works that's

what counts you can wish something else

works all day long but if it doesn't

work it doesn't work and at no point in the

white paper he says anything about

blockchain this was a word created by

the media and also the the increase of

the block size was on the white paper

that it should have come once the block

gets full automatically move forward and

increase the block

size so today how how important it is to

understand this fight

that they're holding

Bitcoin core to actually making money

out of transactions because it is quite

simple to increase the block size and

move to two megabytes like Dash Digital Cash 90 00:03:17,440 --> 00:03:21,310 over but your big fan and we're gonna

talk about that in a while Dash took 24

hours on a voting system to decided

let's increase the block size and then

and and Bitcoin core has been holding

this back because there's a large group

of miners making money out of this how

this will actually decrease the

credibility of the ecosystem for Bitcoin

core and of course give space for

Bitcoin cash Dash Digital Cash and other

crypytocurriencies with a serious project I

think the credibility has already been

damaged we watched bitcoins market share

plummet from 98 percent down to around

30 something percent at the moment low

30 something percent and in my book

that's been incredibly damaging so a

couple of years ago there certainly

wouldn't have been a you know any other

cryptocurrencies here displaying it that

on our control but would have only been

Bitcoin but now we have dashe here

Komodo is here Pivix is here there's a

bunch of them here and that's great

that's fine but if Bitcoin have just

been allowed to scale there wouldn't

have been a need for - or any of these

other ones it could have all been done

on top of Bitcoin and yet some of these

Bitcoin core supporters still don't see

see the lost opportunity that they had

with Bitcoin I think the worldwide

adoption of cryptocurrency has been

delayed by several years because of this

infighting within Bitcoin over the

scaling and I'm glad now we have Dash and a

thousand and one other cryptocurrencies

out there because at the

of the day the best one is going to win

that's the most useful for the most

number of people around the world but

life is short I wanted these benefits

they're gonna be brought to the world by

cryptocurrencies to come today not

several years from now and I feel like

we could have been several years into

the future already today in

cryptocurrency adoption how we not run

into this scaling debate with Bitcoin is

it time to stop being nice and start

pointing fingers to people and say

listen you guys are the ones

manipulating this in order to make money

on transactions it slow down this system

is is there possibility that there's a

system behind like the banking system

manipulating Bitcoin core and then

trying to keep this and Bitcoin cash

is in a way that it's way faster way

cheaper to use and it's working

perfectly

yeah I don't know how much good

finger-pointing and name-calling does

the Bitcoin core supporters main

argument against Bitcoin cash is to call

it a funny name b- cash but calling

Bitcoin cash be cash isn't an argument

against the usefulness of Bitcoin cash

all you need to do to figure it out is

go and use some it works in you know

Bitcoin real cash transactions are fast

cheap and reliable Bitcoin core

transactions are slow expensive and

unreliable you don't have to be a rocket

scientist to figure out which version of

Bitcoin is going to be more useful to

more people around the world and we're

seeing that happen day after day week

after week the the rate of Bitcoin cash

growth is far outpacing the rate of

Bitcoin core growth and let's talk a

little bit about Dash Digital Cash I know

you're big fan how important is the

ecosystem of Dash on your point of view

have been 45 percents of the value of

the coins just mind going to the

masternodes forty five percent going to

the miners and ten percent for Treasury

where the money will be reinvest

to the cryptocurrency in order to create

more value I think the fact that dash

has gotten so popular so quickly all

over the world is a combination of two

factors one is the Bitcoin scaling war

and then the other is that this is a

fantastic system that seems to be

working very well there's a lot of

empirical evidence now that shows that

sending some of the funds to this

promotion organization within Dash which I

think the total monthly budget now is

well into the millions of dollars

yeah it's between four to six million

dollars that's huge right four to six

million dollars a month can buy you a

lot of advertising and we're seeing that

I'm Dash it's growing all over the world

because of that that's really really

impressive I I'm skeptical that the

total marketing budget for all the

Bitcoin companies both Bitcoin core and

Bitcoin cash I doubt it's that big per

month to be honest so you guys have a

bigger you know you guys know I own some

Dash as well so good good Dash community the Dash

community has a bigger marketing budget

than the the Bitcoin community and why

is Dash popular because the transactions

are fast cheap and reliable and I hope

they're private but I I'm a little bit

skeptical as to just how private Dash

transactions are and one of the really

dangerous things is when you think your

transaction is private it's not so

everybody out there in both Dash and

Bitcoin world be very very careful if

you think you're making a private

transaction don't don't don't feel

overly confident in that what my channel

actually from Brazil actually I

presented proposed asking funds for dash to

actually present dash digital cash in a

brand new market in Portuguese it's

being working extremely well and so on

the side of Bitcoin cash now so who

sponsors Bitcoin Cash

where the money comes from to to pay for

conferences for the giveaways the

marketing how is this being done inside

Bitcoin captured at home so almost all

of its just from the most of the

supporters are Bitcoin cash or early

Bitcoin supporters like myself I've been

involved since February of 2011 Bitcoin

cash is this the speech that I've been

giving about Bitcoin since 2011 is the

same one that I give today it currently

is accurate when describing to coin cash

not Bitcoin core but where does all the

money come from it's all the early

adopters like me and the people running

businesses and the people that actually

care about this so that's that's where

it's coming from it's people that

genuinely care and want to see

cryptocurrencies improve the entire fund

you'll notice that there's a whole bunch

of hostility from Bitcoin core

supporters it gives to every other coin

they don't just take Bitcoin cash they

hate Dash they hate Ethereum they do

everything that's not Bitcoin core

whereas you'll see Bitcoin cash people

and Dash people in deterring people they're

fine like little a thousand flowers

bloom right everybody can try whatever

experiment you want there is room for

everybody so don't try and tear down

your opponents try and build the best

possible cryptocurrency you can and

that's what the Bitcoin cash community

are doing and I think part of why

there's so much hostility between

Bitcoin core and Bitcoin cash

specifically is that Bitcoin core team

is on the completely different roadmap

than what the original version of

Bitcoin was so if you want to try some

completely different experiment with a

totally different economic code that's

fine more power to you but don't steal

the brand name that Bitcoin originally

had and that's why I think a lot of

Bitcoin cash people are so upset and the

Bitcoin core people are upset with

Bitcoin cash people but all the Bitcoin

cash people I know love Dahs love Monero

love Ethereum take your pick

well we're not even at one trillion

dollar market cap in the entire

ecosystem which is a very it's a very

small fraction comparing to gold market

cap or to the entire a bonds market or

the entire banking system so it is

essential for the cryptocurrency

communities to actually stick together

and support each other and then create

and develop new ideas and Roger one

question kind of personal you were a

self-made millionaire before Bitcoin

you you understood this before anybody

else you invested personal money you

invested this you keep invest and

spending your money your personal money

to make this project work in a global

scale what's the true ideology that

drives you to actually do this and not

just say you know what I have enough

money I could have buy a private island

my jets and my cars and I'm out of here

yeah for for me it's it's it's not about

making a bunch of money it's about in

making the entire world a better place

because I want to live in a world that's

a better place and then when I look

around the world the thing that I really

see being a problem the world is that

you have these small groups of people

bossing everybody else around and these

small groups of people act like we know

what's best for everybody you're going

to obey us and if you don't obey us

we're going to hurt you that's craziness

that's madness that sort of thing needs

to stop and I see cryptocurrencies as a

tool to empower individuals on every

country in the planet to have complete

control of their own lives and just

strip away the power from these

individuals that want to boss everybody

else around so

Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are about

empowering the individuals so if you

believe that each individual owns their

own life I think I own my own life and

you own yours and the cameraman owns his

and everybody listening to this owns

their lives if you own your own life you

don't need some politician in some

far-off land to boss you around any more

than you need a mugger on the street

corner to demand your money and crypto

currencies empower the individuals to

have control of their own lives and not

need the politicians to boss them around

anymore for me that's what's exciting

and that's why I got involved originally

and that's why I'm still involved today

and that's why I'm still spending my

money to promote these ideas what's the

future now for Roger Ver what are you

working on that you you want to

implement that you want to actually

share the idea so the main thing I'm

still working on is implementing triplet

currencies being able to be used by

everyone all over the planet as fast as

we possibly can so we met from a bunch

of people in Venezuela yesterday that

are super excited and they told us like

they couldn't afford the fees on Bitcoin

core any longer it was like a month's

salary some tolerance or anybody can't

afford nobody nobody's gonna pay that

and so like they know that I'm all sorts

of all opportunities they're very

excited about Bitcoin cash I'm sure

they're excited about Dash they're people

want something that works they don't

care how good the brand name recognition

is if it doesn't work they're not going

to use it they need something that works

and and Dash is slogan it's awesome digital

cash that's what people want digital

cash and it has to work something with

$50 fees and unreliable transactions

that's math digital cash that's some

science project that about wrong yeah

gone wrong

well we actually we have one of the most

successful proposals for Dash digital cash

is even as well with Eugenia she's doing

a fantastic job there I'll tell you more

about it but Roger here thank you very

much for everything you said it's a

pleasure to meet you I got into Bitcoin

into Dash into Bitcoin because of you into

Dash because of Amanda B Johnson so I'm

actually happy to be doing this as a

full-time job today and going from

conference to conference creating prime

content for our audience in Brazil and

of course around the word thank you once

again and I wish you the best thank you

Gingivitis and periodontitis - causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, pathology - Duration: 8:51.

With gingivitis, gingiva refers to the gums, and -itis refers to inflammation, so gingivitis

is inflammation of the gums.

With periodontitis, peri- means around, and odon-, refers to the tooth, so it's inflammation

and destruction of the supporting structures around the teeth.

Broadly speaking, the two are on a spectrum starting with simple gingivitis on one end,

and if the process doesn't get treated, it can develop into more severe disease - periodontitis,

which is on the other end of the spectrum.

Let's start by building a model of a tooth and its surrounding structures.

In the mouth, the bone beneath the bottom row of teeth is the mandible, and the bone

above the top row of teeth is the maxilla.

Both bones have an alveolus, or socket, for each tooth.

The socket is lined on the inside by a periodontal ligament.

Protecting the alveolus on the outside, is a layer of soft, supportive tissue called

the gingiva, or gums, that sits on top of the bone.

The tooth itself can be roughly divided into two parts.

The first part is the root, and it sits within the alveolus.

The root is covered by a bonelike substance called cementum, and that's what the periodontal

ligament's fibers attach to.

Next, there's a short zone called the neck, which is the transition between the root and

the crown.

The crown is the visible part of the tooth that protrudes from the gingiva, and it's

covered in enamel.

Enamel has such a high mineral content that it's the hardest substance in the human

body.

The portion of gingiva that sticks up and is not anchored to the tooth is sometimes

called the free gingiva, and the space between the free gingiva and the crown is called the

gingival crevice or gingival sulcus.

A watery substance called gingival crevicular fluid flows into this space in small amounts.

Gingival crevicular fluid contains various immune proteins and cells like neutrophils,

complement proteins, and antibodies.

Within the mouth there are a number of bacterial organisms.

In a healthy mouth, there is a balance of commensal bacteria that compete with each

other, and they are all kept in check by immune factors in the mouth.

Gingivitis and periodontitis represent a state of imbalance or dysbiosis.

This is when there's a relative increase in pathogenic bacteria either because of a

lack of competition with other commensal bacteria or because of an ineffective immune response

in the mouth.

The pathogenic bacteria form dental plaque which is a sticky collection of bacteria,

proteins from saliva, and dead cells from the lining of the mouth.

Individual bacteria multiply and form many small microcolonies that coalesce, creating

a layer of dental plaque - which is a type of biofilm.

Compared to a microcolony, the bacteria in a biofilm communicate with each other via

chemical signaling and together they create a complex system where some bacteria work

on tunneling between the microcolonies and to the surface in order to bring in a steady

supply of food.

As an analogy, if bacteria were ants, then a microcolony would be a tiny group of ants,

each doing it's own thing, whereas a biofilm would be an ant farm with complex tunnels

and rooms, and each ant carrying out a specialized task.

Some tooth surfaces like the portion of the tooth just outside the gingiva are hard to

brush dental plaque away from.

If dental plaque above the gingiva keeps building, the bacteria within that biofilm can invade

beneath the gingiva where it becomes very difficult to reach with brushing.

Eventually, it can form a hard mass, called a dental calculus.

Dental calculus creates a nice space for bacterial plaque formation, because it's hard to remove,

and from there bacteria can enter the gingival sulcus and cause gingival inflammation, or

gingivitis.

Damaged gingival cells release inflammatory signals that recruit neutrophils to the area,

and those neutrophils can release harmful chemicals that kill bacteria, as well as damage

the nearby tissue.

Fortunately, simple gingivitis is a reversible condition, and the damaged tissue can heal

over time as long as the infection is stopped and treated.

In periodontitis, the process of dysbiosis is often more extreme - with even more disease-causing

bacteria flourishing in the mouth.

One classic hypothesis suggests that the first step in periodontitis is the presence of the

so-called orange-complex of bacteria, which includes gram-negative anaerobic bacteria

like Fusobacterium nucleatum and Prevotella intermedia.

Once these orange-complex bacteria are established, the next step is the presence of the so-called

red-complex of bacteria, which includes Tannerella forsythia, Treponema denticola and, its most

notorious member, Porphyromonas gingivalis or P. gingivalis for short.

Another line of thinking suggests that rather than these red-complex bacteria being the

specific culprits, it's the overall change in the bacterial community that these bacteria

trigger that tips the scale toward periodontitis.

Either way, the pathogenic bacteria within the subgingival dental plaque create a periodontal

pocket and damage gingival cells in the process.

Local mast cells and nerves release chemicals like histamine and substance P which cause

dilation of local blood vessels, resulting in swelling of the gingiva.

Damaged gingival cells release additional cytokines like interleukin-1, which brings

more immune cells to the area, like neutrophils and macrophages.

The body's immune response causes even more damage to the gingiva and periodontal ligament,

ultimately loosening the tooth.

That one notorious bacterium P. gingivalis, is also known for impairing the immune cells

from effectively killing bacteria.

This helps other pathogenic bacteria to overgrow as well - kind of like a thief that destroys

the police station and allows other thieves to flourish in a city.

The immune response also delivers more blood flow to the damaged tissue, and that provides

nutrients for the bacteria.

Together, the bacteria and immune response end up in a positive-feedback loop where the

expanding infection causes an increased immune response, which doesn't destroy the bacteria

but provides the bacteria with more fuel to grow.

The immune response also activate osteoclasts in the bone, which start to dissolve the bone

supporting the tooth, loosening it even more.

Symptoms of gingivitis typically include redness, swelling, and bleeding - especially after

brushing or flossing.

Some people though experience no symptoms, especially in the early stages of infection.

Severe disease that progresses to periodontitis can result in tooth loss.

Diagnosis of gingivitis and periodontitis are usually made by looking for swollen or

bleeding gums, probing of each gingival sulcus to determine how deep it is, and X-rays to

evaluate the bone level.

With inflammation and destruction, the sulcus becomes deeper as the periodontal pocket expands.

Treatment depends on how severe the infection is.

Daily brushing and flossing, and use of antimicrobial agents like mouthwashes, can help prevent

the formation of dental plaque, but in severe cases antibiotic and surgery might be needed.

All right, as a quick recap…

Gingivitis is caused by infection and inflammation of the gingiva that can grow to involve the

tooth supporting structures, which is called periodontitis.

When dental plaque builds up near the gumline, it can allow bacteria to invade toward the

root of the tooth.

Diagnosis is done via visual inspection, X-rays, and probing the gums, and treatment of severe

cases may include removal of the infected tissue, antibiotics, and surgery.

How Pregnancy Is Like Growing an Alien Inside You - Duration: 11:04.

[ ♪ Intro ♪ ]

We usually make pregnancy sound like a wonderful, 9 month period of parental bliss.

But if you really think about it, pregnancy is kind of bonkers.

When you're pregnant, you're essentially growing an alien parasite inside of you, having

your entire body tweaked and drained to support something that's half you, and half some

other person.

Biologically, it's quite a feat.

And yet, it happens all the time.

You, me, and every human on Earth, came from this strange quasi-parasitic system.

So, today, we're going in utero.

We'll talk about how embryos develop, how they get their food and get rid of their waste,

and do all this while staying under the radar of their parent's immune system.

At the center of it all is the placenta.

It's an organ — a set of tissues dedicated to a particular task.

And it's actually the first organ that you make, and the only temporary organ in the human body.

Once a baby pops out, the placenta comes out as afterbirth.

Which, to be honest, looks a little like something from the movie Alien.

Since nobody needs the placenta anymore, it's usually thrown away.

These days, though, eating it has also become a trend, even though researchers haven't

found any health benefits.

But this weird organ is what's been making all 9 months of pregnancy possible!

The placenta is made from cells from the fetus and the pregnant parent.

And it basically serves as an interface between the two.

It helps deliver food, dump waste, and exchange gases like oxygen and carbon dioxide that

are critical for life.

The placenta begins to form within a week or so of fertilization.

In case you need a recap, this is when the sperm meets an egg to form a zygote, or fertilized egg.

The zygote divides a few times as it travels to the uterus, or womb, and becomes a semi-hollow

ball of cells called a blastocyst.

The blastocyst is important because it's made of two types of cells.

There's a clump of cells inside, which will go on to make the embryo and eventually the fetus.

And there's a single layer of cells on the outside, known as trophoblasts, which will

form the fetal part of the placenta.

These outer cells invade the lining of the uterus to make the whole thing stick, or implant,

and truly kick off pregnancy.

Different types of trophoblasts then go on to form the amniotic sac, which is really

just a protective bag of fluid the embryo floats in.

It's thin, but super tough, and provides cushioning and room to grow.

Inside the amniotic sac, the embryo gets to work quickly, starting to develop its nervous

system, and then its heart and blood vessels, followed by other organs.

Driving all this growth is food, thanks to what's essentially a big pool of parental blood.

Yep, it turns out that embryos are kind of like vampires.

See, early on, the invading trophoblasts destroy a bunch of the tissue in the uterine wall

and remodel the blood vessels.

Trophoblasts attack vessels from the inside and outside, turning them into limp, open

pockets of blood.

Those pockets help make sure that there's a steady flow of parental blood rich in oxygen

and nutrients like glucose, amino acids, and fatty acids — all of which the embryo needs

to grow.

Those chemicals get passed on to the embryo through a branching network of blood vessels

that travel through the placenta and feed into the umbilical cord.

But there's always a membrane between parental blood and fetal blood.

The blood pools are close enough for nutrients and gases to get passed back and forth through

the membrane — usually through diffusion, which is when molecules move from higher concentration

to lower concentration.

But they're still separate.

Because direct contact could cause problems… like total annihilation of the embryo.

We'll get to more of this later, but because a baby is half another person, its cells are

full of proteins that the pregnant parent doesn't recognize as their own.

Direct contact would mean the immune cells in the parent's blood would mount an attack

to get rid of the half-foreign being — like it would stomp out a flu virus.

To make sure that doesn't happen, we evolved a placental system that always puts a membrane

in between the blood supplies.

So, through processes like diffusion, a parent delivers sugar and other goodies to the baby.

And the baby can dump all of its carbon dioxide and waste products into the parent's blood pool.

Garbage problem solved!

Based on all of this, you can probably tell that pregnancy is kind of blood-intensive.

And one of the biggest changes to someone's body, besides making space for a new human,

is to their cardiovascular system.

Blood vessels across their body widen.

Their heart rate ticks up an extra 10 to 20 beats per minute.

And ultimately, they pump 40 to 50% more blood.

You can actually see some of this extra blood flow as a rosy blush on people's faces,

which is sometimes called pregnancy glow.

It happens partially because of the increased blood output.

Beyond glowing skin, though, these changes matter to the health of both humans.

They make sure the placenta gets enough blood to constantly refresh the blood pool — something

that happens 2 to 3 times per minute.

That way, the baby gets enough oxygen and nutrients.

And the additional blood flow also helps the parents' kidneys process the extra waste

that's getting dumped into their bodies.

They're eating and excreting for two.

One of the ways scientists think this happens is through a hormone called relaxin, which

dilates blood vessels to make them wider.

This allows pregnant people to safely handle more blood pumping through their bodies, instead

of boosting their blood pressure.

Relaxin levels naturally go up in people during ovulation, and stay high if they become pregnant.

The hormone might also help later in pregnancy by relaxing ligaments in the pelvis to make

it easier to deliver the baby.

Other hormones, like estrogen, might also be involved.

And while the parent's body initially makes most of the hormones, eventually a bunch are

made by cells in the placenta.

So basically, the fetus ends up controlling a lot of the show.

And some of this stuff borders on mind control.

Progesterone, for instance, is a hormone that keeps the pregnancy going, and even changes

how the parent breathes.

This hormone tells the brain to lower the amount of carbon dioxide in the body, so pregnant

people will actually take bigger breaths.

This provides more oxygen, which the baby needs, and also makes it easier to get rid

of the carbon dioxide, so breathing is more efficient.

Clearly, the fetus has no qualms about doing whatever it needs to do to get things for itself.

And by the eighth month, some researchers think that about 25% of the proteins a fetus

gets are used to make hormones to manipulate their parent.

Now, if the cardiovascular stuff sounded intense, think about the fetus's near-monopoly on glucose.

Not only does the baby want more blood, it wants more sugar in that blood.

And one way the fetus accomplishes that is to make their parent diabetic.

Or at least, diabetic-like.

The fetal part of the placenta releases a hormone called human placental lactogen, among

other chemicals, that decreases the pregnant parent's insulin sensitivity.

Insulin is a hormone that controls how much glucose is in your blood.

When it binds to cells, it tells them to stop releasing sugar into the bloodstream, and

to start taking up more sugar from the blood.

So when you're less sensitive to insulin, you don't clear your blood of glucose as

quickly, so you have higher blood sugar.

This can work to the baby's advantage, which is probably why it happens.

The fetus can take all of that extra sugar for itself.

Now, this whole fetal exploitation of their parent is usually okay.

But sometimes, especially in people who already have diabetes or are at higher risk, this

can lead to something called gestational diabetes.

In gestational diabetes, the parent's blood sugar goes too high, and the fetus ends up

getting way more sugar than it needs.

If that happens, the baby can grow really big — to the point where it's not safe

to do a natural delivery, and doctors do a C-section, which involves surgery.

There can also be other complications, for both the parent and the baby, so doctors tend

to keep close tabs on sugar levels.

The fetus's biggest trick of all, though, might be its ability to stay out of the way

of the parent's immune system.

After all, the baby is still a guest… and kind of an interloper.

Yes, it's walled off in a fluid-filled sac, and protected by the placenta.

And these physical barriers go a long way in explaining how pregnancy can even work at all.

But the fact remains that many cells of the placenta come from the fetus, so they're

chock full of a mix of proteins — some foreign to the pregnant parent and some not.

But, somehow, they touch parental tissue with little to no problem.

Immunologists have wondered about this for more than 60 years.

At first, they assumed that pregnant people simply didn't make immune cells that recognize

the fetus.

But we now know they do.

So, how do developing fetuses avoid damage?

We don't know the full story, but one big way seems to be a surge in a type of immune

cell called a T regulatory cell.

These cells basically dial down immune responses, rather than increasing them.

And they show up in large numbers as soon as the blastocyst implants in the uterus,

and possibly even earlier.

Another clue comes from looking at the proteins on the surface of the trophoblasts — the

placental cells that do the invading.

Normally, cells have proteins on their surfaces that different immune responders can recognize.

That's how an immune response starts, and your body can tell you're infected with

a bunch of bad bacteria.

But trophoblasts are missing a lot of these surface proteins, or have slight changes to them.

And that could give them a kind of invisibility cloak.

The immune cells in the uterus are also different.

Normally, natural killer cells do exactly what their name implies — they kill.

But the ones in the uterine lining don't.

Basically, they still have the proteins they need to kill, but the cells also have inhibitory receptors.

And when those inhibitory receptors are activated, it prevents the release of those deadly proteins.

These natural killer cells are around when the trophoblasts are reworking the parent's

blood vessels, and might even help by pumping out special factors.

In mice that are engineered to lack natural killer cells in the uterus, the parental part

of the placenta doesn't grow properly, and baby mice are born abnormally small.

There are other ways that researchers think babies avoid detection, too.

And most of the time, they pull it off.

But scientists are now realizing that many fertility problems might actually be immune

problems that crop up very early in pregnancy.

If an embryo can stick around long enough, though, they might get the last laugh.

Because decades after pregnancy, scientists have found fetal cells still hanging out.

This is called microchimerism, and may be one of the strangest features of pregnancy.

It's actually a two-way street: kids end up with cells from their parent in them, too.

Babies can even end up with cells from their older siblings or older generations, kinda

like a Russian nesting doll of past pregnancies!

But people finish pregnancy with far more cells from their children than the other way around.

Doctors haven't figured out if they're meaningful in any way.

Some have proposed that these foreign cells can cause autoimmune diseases later, although

that hasn't been fully demonstrated yet.

If you're feeling sentimental, though, you can think of them as a literal keepsake in

your body.

Pregnancy means you'll always carry part of your kid with you, whether you want to or not.

Trump Freaks Out On Twitter After Another Woman Accuses Him Of Sexual Misconduct - Duration: 3:47.

Earlier this week it was reported that yet another woman, Rachel Crooks in this case,

has come forward saying that Donald Trump forcibly kissed her while she was at Trump

Tower several years ago.

After this story broke, Donald Trump took to Twitter and said the following, "A woman

I don't know, and to the best of my knowledge never met, is on the front page of the fake

news Washington Post saying I kissed her for two minutes in the lobby of Trump Tower 12

years ago.

Never happened."

Okay, so that was Donald Trump's lashing out and there were plenty of words in there that

were in all caps, but here's the thing, Donald Trump claims that his own tweet there vindicates

him from what actually took place.

However, his own tweet gets many aspects of the story wrong.

It wasn't in the lobby of Trump Tower, where Donald Trump claims there's all these security

videos, it was in kind of a side hallway near a separate little office, where there really

aren't that many security cameras, I'm sure there's some there catching it.

There was nobody else around, according to Crooks, and the best piece of evidence we

have is Donald Trump himself, several years ago, on tape saying, "I just kiss them.

I don't even wait, I just put myself upon them, they love it."

He's on tape saying those things, and so here we have a woman who's come forward and admitted

that yes, it happened to her, we have Donald Trump admitting many years ago that he does

those kinds of things, so whose side should we take in this?

Who should we put the benefit of the doubt in?

Is it the man who has admitted that he does these things, or the woman who says that this

happened to her?

I'm going to go with Rachel Crooks on this, and I think most Americans should do the same

too.

Actually I think all Americans should do the same, but I know they won't.

The bottom line is, that we're seeing a pattern of behavior with Donald Trump, and that, if

you're trying to get some kind of conviction or build a case here, is what has to be proven.

And yes, at this point it's been proven.

I don't think anybody in this country has been falsely accused by 20 separate women,

of sexual misconduct, I just don't think that that's possible.

So Donald Trump either is the target of the biggest conspiracy ever, with all of these

women banding together to make up these stories or, he's a serial harasser and assaulter.

I'm going with the latter on that.

I firmly believe every single one of these women that have come forward with allegations

against Donald Trump.

Rachel Crooks has responded to Trump by the way and said, "Okay, put your money where

your mouth is.

If you've got all these security tapes that you say vindicates you, just release them,

just make them public.

Just let everybody see, and we'll go from there."

The big question is, why won't he do it?

We know they have them, he admitted that they have them, and if it truly vindicates him,

they could just release it and everybody moves on from the story.

Maybe the media even apologizes and says, "You know what Mr. Trump, we were wrong about

this, and we're very, very sorry."

But he's not going to release the tape, because if he did, it would completely validate and

vindicate Mrs. Crooks and the Washington Post.

So Pelosi held a town hall event Tuesday blasting President Trump and Republicans' tax cuts.

It didn't go quite as planned for the corrupt multi millionaire.

Fox News reports that Pelosi was heckled by a woman at a town hall event Tuesday after

she continued blasting President Trump and Republicans' tax cuts.

"God never intended one group of people to live in superfluous inordinate wealth while

others live in abject deadening poverty," the House minority leader said, adding that

the quote was from Dr. Martin Luther King.

As she finished her sentence, Pelosi was interrupted by a woman in the Phoenix, Arizona, audience

who asked "how much are you worth, Nancy?"

"Are you in abject poverty?" the woman shouted at Pelosi, who is routinely listed

among the wealthiest members of Congress.

She joined Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.) at the event, continuing to rail against the

new tax law's effects on everyday Americans.

Pelosi said that the federal budget and tax policy should be a "statement of national

values" and that the plan forwarded by Trump is "the complete opposite."

The former House speaker drew criticism from Republicans in recent weeks after describing

companies' bonuses to workers as "crumbs."

Speaking in West Virginia a few weeks ago, Trump called out Pelosi specifically for the

comment, comparing it to Hillary Clinton's "deplorables" insult toward his supporters

in 2016.

"People are getting 1,000, 2,000, 3,000 dollars.

Cops Intentionally Didn't Arrest FL Shooter Multiple Times Because Of What School Board Told Them - Duration: 5:37.

Cops Intentionally Didn't Arrest FL Shooter Multiple Times Because Of What School Board

Told Them Looks like we have one more entity to blame

in the Parkland Florida High School Valentine's Day shooting which left 17 people dead.

It seems Broward County schools intentionally created a few policies from 2010 through 2016

which could have led to the 2018 mass school shooting in Parkland.

And who instituted these policies?

You guessed it, school board members which tend to be far left hacks who protect the

communist teachers as they indoctrinate our children with leftist ideology. The Miami-Dade

and Broward County school districts enacted a few policies which beg us to ask the question

if they did indeed lead up to this Valentine's Day Massacre.

The policies were called "diversionary programs" and were put in place in order to stop high

school students from being arrested.

Law enforcement was instructed to avoid arrests and defer criminal conduct to school administrators

instead.

You have got to be kidding!

The problem of the conflicted policy -vs- legality policy is that like everything from

the liberal spectrum, it worsened over time as the police excused much more than misdemeanor

crimes.

Over time, this led to police officers falsifying documents in order to abide by the strict

school regulation.

Which led to the hiding of criminal activity, lying on official police reports, and even

hiding stolen merchandise police retrieved from high school students.

Looking back we can see the whole Trayvon Martin killing could have actually been avoided

if maybe the correct departments could have stopped his delinquent behavior.Via The Last

Refuge:

In 2012 Trayvon Martin was one of those students

It was our initial FOIA requests to the Miami Dade School Police Department which revealed

the secret discipline and diversionary program Trayvon Martin was granted to avoid a criminal

record.

The School Board and M-DSPD kept trying to hide the issue; they delayed responses and

charged us thousands for FOIA information; but we knew this story was huge… so we kept

going.

Specifically Trayvon Martin's criminal conduct was hidden behind school discipline.

Stolen jewelry was recorded as random 'found items' (the jewelry just intentionally placed

in storage with no investigation), Trayvon's possession of marijuana was similarly obfuscated,

and all of the incident reports were intentionally falsified by officials and School Resource

Officer, Daryl Dunn, to avoid the Criminal Justice system It is all well documented.

None of this is supposition.

Our research discovered sworn affidavits from the police department HERE.

No-one was ever been held to account – it was just too politically dangerous an issue.

SRO Dunn never filed a criminal report, nor opened a criminal investigation, surrounding

the stolen jewelry.

Instead, and as a result of pressure from M-DSPD Chief Hurley to avoid criminal reports

for black male students, Dunn wrote up the jewelry as "found items", and transferred

them, along with the burglary tool, to the Miami-Dade Police property room where they

sat on a shelf unassigned to anyone for investigation.

A separate report of "criminal Mischief" (T-08809) was filed for the additional issue

of writing "WTF" on a school locker.

[It was the search for the marker used to write the graffiti that led to the backpack

search].

The school discipline, "suspension", was attached to the graffiti and not the stolen

jewelry The connections between the Police Burglary report and the School Report of "found

items" were never made because the regular police detective in charge of the Burglary

case had no idea the School Police Dept. had filed a "found items" report.

Two differing police departments, and the School Officer, Dunn, intentionally took the

criminal element out of the equation – instead preferring "school discipline" and not

"criminal adjudication".

And it wasn't just Trayvon Martin, there were hundreds of similar actions taken by

conflicted School Resource Officers – totaling thousands of crimes over the course of just

the first few years of these programs (2010 through 2013).

CTH contacted the Miami-Dade School District, every single school board member, and the

Broward County School District – to warn them of what was taking place.

We provided thousands of pages of sworn affidavits and transcribed testimony from law enforcement.

We spent several thousand dollars locating, transcribing and assembling the documents

and evidence; and hundreds more hours compiling all the information.

We sent all of it to both school districts and both school superintendents.

Their response: "go away".This School Shooting is what happens when a school board

along with local and national politicians weaponize kids in order to push their own

failed ideology.

This was all brought to us by the Barack Hussein Obama administration who made it OK to treat

students with white gloves which in turn gave us a generation of snowflakes.

These policies might very well be the reason why although the police were called to Cruz'

residence 39 times in 7 years, they never did anything.

Was it because they didn't want to do anything?

Or that they couldn't?

Billy Graham's Facebook Page Posted A Chilling Message Just Hours Before His Death - Duration: 4:52.

Billy Graham's Facebook Page Posted A Chilling Message Just Hours Before His Death

Billy Graham just passed away at the ripe age of 99.

He was an extraordinarily influential and well-loved evangelist pastor from North Carolina

who changed lives and the hearts of millions of people.

His attitude, kindness, and ability to deliver a driving message into the minds and hearts

of those willing to listen were left with nothing less than a fantastic experience that

continued to grow positively in the communities he traveled to.

Not only was he well liked by the ordinary person, but he was also charismatic and thoughtful

enough to be considered the counselor or minister to numerous United States Presidents.

He's traveled the world, visiting 185 countries, and pursued his dream of spreading the right

word to millions of people across the planet.

He's been quoted and idolized by so many people that only an estimate would be right

to guess the numbers of hearts he's touched with his words.

He finally passed away at 99-years-old and went to meet his maker, leaving a world left

in pieces but slowly rebuilding with a greater sense of love, trust, and finding our way.

Billy Graham leaves us as one of the most influential evangelist pastors the world might

ever see.

We don't get that many great ones, but when we do, they set the bar incredibly high.

NBC News reported more on his passing:

"Graham died just before 8 a.m. at his home in Montreat, North Carolina, surrounded by

family, according to a spokesman for Samaritan's Purse, the nondenominational evangelical Christian

organization headed by Graham's son Franklin.\

His following was undeniable: The longtime evangelist appeared on Gallup's list of

the most admired men and women 60 times since 1955 — every year the research company asked

the question.

Born William Franklin Graham on Nov. 7, 1918, "America's pastor" came from modest

means and grew up on a dairy farm in Charlotte, North Carolina.

He found his spiritual path at 16, charmed by the traveling minister and temperance movement

leader Mordecai Ham.

Graham later moved to Florida and was ordained there in 1939.

He met his future wife, Ruth McCue Bell, while they attended Wheaton College, and they married

in 1943.

Together they would raise five children, and she would become a trusted adviser.

"When it comes to spiritual things, my wife has had the greatest influence on my ministry,"

Graham said of Bell, who died in June 2007."

If you thought that was the last you'd see or hear from Pastor Graham, then you'd be

inevitably mistaken.

There was a bone-chilling message posted on his Facebook page just hours before he passed

away.

Graham's final Facebook post leaves the world thinking deep within themselves for

the truth.

Billy Graham's message forces us to be accountable for our actions and find our way to deal with

what's going on in our lives.

Thousands of people on Facebook have liked and shared his last message for the world.

It was posted:

"If you went for a walk in the woods, but then decided to wander off the path, and found

yourself surrounded by a thicket of thorns and poison ivy, who would you blame?

Would you blame the person who built the path?

No, of course not.

Instead you'd blame yourself if you were honest, because you alone were responsible

for wandering from the path.

In a far deeper way, this is what happens when we decide to leave God out of our lives.

For a time, it may seem like wandering away from Him doesn't make any difference; it

may even seem easier and freer.

But eventually it catches up with us—just as wandering off that path and into the thicket

caught up with you."

—Billy Graham #BG100″

While Graham was a man of God, and his message was meant for everyone despite political ideologies,

perhaps Democrats should take note, as they are the ones who want to take all thing God

out of the public sphere.

Which may be the reason we are encountering so many problems in our society, the recent

Florida school shooting and the division it is causing as just one example.

People will interpret Graham's message in more ways than one, finding their own meaning

in his last words to the world via social media.

Some people won't listen, and perhaps they're the people going down that path and into the

thicket with the poison ivy.

Some people will eliminate the poison ivy and clear a new path.

Some will avoid it altogether.

But there's one thing we know for sure, and it's this – Billy Graham left us with

the one message that will make everyone think long and hard about the direction they're

walking.

what do you think about this?

Republicans Launch Disgusting Attacks Against Survivors Of School Shootings - Duration: 3:26.

A disgusting new narrative has popped up in right wing media over the last few days, trying

to smear the survivors of the Parkland school shooting in Florida.

One of the talking points going around, spread by sites like infowars, is that these students,

who are now becoming politically active in trying to get assault weapons banned, staging

these protests in D.C. and at the Florida State House, groups like infowars and other

right wing conspiracy sites are trying to tell us that these children are actually highly

paid crisis actors.

"They weren't really in Parkland.

No, no, no.

These are people that get paraded out anytime there's a mass shooting, and so then they

just go on TV.

They're highly coached, highly polished.

They rehearse their lines.

There's footage of it.

Don't you see that?"

Another talking point that's going around is that one of the student's parents works

for the FBI.

He's a field agent down in Miami, and so his activism is actually to cover up for the fact

that the FBI dropped the ball on the warning signs for this kid, and so that's why this

one student is becoming active, to cover for his father.

Then there's another narrative.

This one, to me, is probably one of the most disgusting here.

They're saying that these children are being paid by the DNC and George Soros.

Yes, they were present.

They were at the shooting.

They're not denying that.

They're just saying that the DNC and George Soros swooped in, paid these kids to go out

and become the new voice for gun control in America.

What's happening with all of these smears is that Republicans, all-right websites, pundits,

even Donald Trump Jr. himself, who is helping to spread these conspiracy theories on Twitter,

they are terrified, because they understand the power that these children wield.

They understand that Americans are paying attention now.

It took too long for people across the country to pay attention, but finally, it's starting

to happen, and they can't stand it.

You know, if it was a grown adult, maybe somebody with a little bit of a history that they could

go after, they would be doing that, but these are children, and they got nothing on them.

That's why they're making up these insane conspiracy theories, trying to label these

survivors as some kind of DNC George Soros puppets, or even worse, paid actors, because

they understand that these kids have the power to make change in this country, and I hope

they're successful.

I hope they bring about the change that is desperately needed, and I am glad to see them

fighting back against these right wing, disgusting, worthless, human being trolls that are trying

to say that these kids either weren't there, or that they're being paid for their newfound

political activism.

How Does Waterless Car Wash Work? | Black Paint Bentley Continental GT | Chemical Guys Car Care - Duration: 6:18.

Hey guys, today in the Detail Garage we're going

to be putting to rest some misconceptions about waterless washes.

Now more and more is the popularity growing with this waterless wash because

it saves time, it saves effort, and it's saving water but a lot of people still

think that it scratches paint, it's not actually doing anything for the finish,

and also that it's wasting money. But today we're going to put to rest some of

those misconceptions on this 2008 Bentley GT Continental C, which stands

for convertible, and the reason why the top is down is because the owner says

the motor is shot and it's stuck down. So we can't use a foam wash because

obviously that would make a huge mess which is one great reason why we're using

waterless wash. Now here we have our brand new waterless wash. This is Swift

Wipe and that picks up anything on the surface from water spots bird droppings

dirt and debris while leaving behind a protective layer of sealant. With any

waterless wash what you're basically going to do is spray it on the surface give it a

chance to emulsify any of the abrasive particles of dirt and then wipe it off

using a Premium Microfiber Towel. Now you've seen us use these green towels a

lot. We'll go over what these are these are our workhorse towels which is a

70/30 blend that picks up anything that's on the surface and it traps it inside these

micro noodles here and this is going to gently wipe it away from the surface

without scratching it. So we'll start here I'll do half the car to show you

just the difference that there is. If you get close to kind of hard to tell on

camera but this car actually has scratches all over it but that's to be

expected on dark-colored car such as black because it's gonna show any kind

of imperfection but we don't want to add any new imperfections so we're going to

show you the proper technique to use a waterless wash. Obviously there's some

common sense that needs to be used while you're using a waterless wash. You want

to give it a chance to emulsify and trap anything that's on the surface so I'm giving

this a chance, just a couple moments, to pick everything up. It's also adding

lubrication on the surface. An old detailing trick is also to spray your towel.

Using a waterless wash and a damp towel prevents any kind of

scratches. And now we're gonna work in straight lines and I'm also rolling the

towel just like I do with EcoSmart or any quick detail spray and that's gonna

create a fresh edge instead of grinding it all in on this one edge and I'm gonna

start down here just working in straight lines.

I'm not putting pressure on the towel it's just basically the weight of my

hand. I'm working in straight linear motions. This

is to prevent any kind of swirls. Now I'll flip the towel over and just buff away any of the excess.

So there you go you can see that right off the bat by

working in straight lines I haven't added any new imperfections. You can look

in the paint work these scratches look more organic and going in all different

directions but I don't see any going in the pattern that I was. So just from

first glance this car's obviously going to need to be polished to restore that

shine and it looks like there's some kind of tree sap or water spots that

embedded in the paint so we're gonna try claying it first and then we'll move

on to the polishing steps to remove those scratches and swirls. So for today

we're gonna finish off with the wiping and then in our next episode we'll show you

how to clay it and polish it to restore that shine.

Now up here this is a trim piece that's actually chrome and this is something

that you guys have been asking for is how to properly maintain these and detail

this. On a regular car wash you could just let the soap saturate the area and

then wipe it off with a microfiber towel or your wash mitt but since again we

can't put the top up on this we don't want to stain the interior leather with

a quick detail spray or waterless wash. I've just sprayed the towel and I'm

picking off whatever was on the surface and the same way that we did with the

paint just buff off any excess to reveal that shine and also we're leaving behind

a protective layer of sealant which repels water spots, dust, debris to

keep this car looking its best for longer.

Just like we do with our regularcar washes we're starting at the highest point and working our way down because

it's harder for abrasive particles of dirt and heavy particles of dirt to

stick to areas like this but on the flat panels this is where it all basically

lands and it will stick. So if we decided to clean here and then work our way from

top down already you're getting dirt in areas we've already cleaned which is

1: A potential to scratch the paint and it's also making more work for yourself. So by

working methodically from top to bottom almost like you're peeling layers it's

the best way to get the best results and it's also saving you time and effort.

What's great about a waterless wash as I mentioned is it saving natural resources

such as water. If you look at this we've only used about half an ounce to clean

the majority of the side of the vehicle and on a regular car it could use

anywhere from 10 to 80 gallons depending on the size of the vehicle to wash it by

rinsing it, foaming it, and then rinsing it again and also you have two buckets

full of water so that's actually a ton of water you're using just to clean up

light dust and debris. So what I always say is if you can clean it with a less

aggressive approach or the easiest way that's the best to save yourself some

time, effort, and in this case, natural resources.

Now one of the best features of a waterless wash is its workability so you can use this in your driveway you

can use it in the car show you can use it in a carport or even--

Everything You Need To Know About MUKBANG - YouTube Trends - Duration: 3:13.

The phenomenon known as Mukbang is taking over YouTube.

It originated in south korea on a streaming site called afreecaTV back in 2009.

So what the heck is Mukbang and why are people obsessed?

I'm going to fill you in, here on IO.

Welcome back to inform overload where we talk about trending topics.

I'm charlotte dobre.

Mukbang is a south Korean social media phenomenon that's actually a pretty simple concept.

It involves internet personalities, youtubers streamers etc basically…order a ton of food

and eat it on camera while interacting with your audience.

Mukbang translates to eating, broadcast.

Its actually been around for quite some time but now American youtubers like trisha paytas

and nikocado avocado are making their own Mukbang videos.

Ever heard of epic meal time?

Yeah his videos are pretty much mookbong.

So why do people love these videos and livestreams so much?

Well, Mukbang basically makes you feel like you are eating a meal with your favourite

youtuber.

According to wetheunicorns.com, having someone eat on screen gives viewers a feeling of friendship

and camaraderie.

When you think about it, eating a meal with someone is a way of bonding.

So watching a huge internet personality eat a ton of calories on camera basically creates

the illusion that you are out for a meal with them, or staying in and munching out.

Mukbang videos are hugely popular in south korea.

Every day, millions of people watch Mukbang hosts, and that of course earns the hosts

a lot of money in advertising revenue, sponsorships and viewer donations.

But American Mukbang videos are different.

In south korea, Mukbang is usually broadcasted on a livestream, but the American version

is almost always pre recorded.

Another huge difference, is south Korean hosts don't really talk that much while they eat.

So the point of the video is literally to just watch someone eat.

Where as American Mukbang is very much also about the talking and connecting with the

viewer, much like you would normally do when you're out for dinner with someone.

Another really weird reason why people like these videos is because its like eating vicariously

through someone else.

Many of these vids involve hosts eating up to 10 thousand calroies in one sitting.

For someone who deprives themselves of eating, watching someone else eat a lot of calories

is comforting?

Or satisfying?

I honestly don't get it but according to an expert, Traci mann, a professor of social

and health psychology at the university of minessota, the people in these videos are

doing something worse than you would ever do, and that makes you feel better about yourself

in comparison.

Hmm.

Interesting, Well that's one experts opinion, do you guys like watching people eat?

Let me know in those comments.

Laughlan coe – y can I not stop watching your videos im in 12 hours of watching please

send help.

LAUGHLAN, LISTEN TO ME.

I'm WORRIED ABOUT YOU.
