every video for the last couple months.
I tried to stay away from doing a video on the topic because I felt I missed the chance
to do so during the height of it's popularity, but recently the requests on my channel have
been crazy.
So I figure it's finally time to listen to you guys and get it done! keep the comments

What's a meme?

Let me explain.

Jason Bourne is the name of the central character who is the star of the "Jason Bourne"
franchise of movies.
The Frachise is a Action Spy Thriller series of films that has released 5 films, starring
Matt Damon.
You know, Matt Damon.
The guy who isn't Mark Walberg but looks exactly the same.
That guy!
The Bourne franchise has been very successful earning over 1.5 Billion dollars world Wide
amongst the 5 films.
The most recent film in the series simply titled, "Jason Bourne" is where the meme
first originated from.
You see earlier this year Universal Pictures released the trailer to the film on April,20th
2016.
Which just so happens to be the date 4-20.
Not that it's an important part of the information to this meme but it's something that should
be mentioned.
The trailer received millions of views in the few months leading up to the release of
the film.
There was one particular line in the trailer that seemed to stick out to most people.
In the clip An agent from the CIA speaks the line of dialogue when Jason Bourne is identified
by facial recognition software.
"Jesus Christ, that's Jason Bourne!"
Now typically this would just be another line from a movie that people would soon forget.
But you have to remember we're talking about the internet, The magical place where things
like this exist.
Nothing to see here guys, just internet stuff.
After seeing the clip in the trailer, people began to take it and remix it in a variety
of humorous ways.
One of these first examples was by the Youtube Channel QuickEntertainment which remixed the
trailer to put an emphasis on the clip.
"I know who I am.
Jason Bourne.
Jesus christ that's Jason bourne!"
Since then The internet has gone crazy with the edits and began to use them in a variety
of ways.
Most often using the line of dialogue in a sarcastic way to accompany videos of people
trying to be a badass.
Although the use of the meme is not only limited to that type of edit.

Memes like this have the ability to be versatile and be used in a variety of clever and humorous
ways which can only lead to their popularity and success.
So There you have it!
Jesus Christ, That's Jason Bourne started off as a simple line of dialogue from a multi
mullion dollar film franchise and has evolved into a memorable and often used meme online.
