Adjusting Your Subwoofer Gain For More Dynamics, Kick, and Oomph! (use subtitles if it's too quiet) - Duration: 10:07.

okay guys today I want to do a video on subwoofer gain and this may seem like

kind of a simple video but actually I've learned a lot about the gain

issue and how it reacts in different subs, so this will be

kind of specific to the SVS products, but I think it will carry over depending

on how flat your subs response is and all that kinda stuff

but anyway I guess I'll point this more towards SVS products but again how much

this will translate depends on your particular setup, but one of the

things I want to talk about is where you set this dial at, okay? Now I

did a video about apartments and how if you run your gain a little bit lower and you turn the AVR gain up on

your amplifier for the subs you know, you'll get a little less bleed over

in the next room and stuff like that and basically you're limiting the

amplifier and so that's good for people that want to run a little less you know

they want to be a little more considerate for the neighbors. Now you don't want to do

this too much because if you crank the AVR, like you know, at a positive eight

and then you turn this way down you can get some amplifier clipping and stuff

like that. So generally in my opinion you want to keep your AVR subwoofer trim at

0.0 or lower. Now the trick, at least in my experience, I don't know how

many of you guys can tell me different, but what I found is that the higher you

run the gain, okay so you turn it up, and then the lower you run the AVR trim to

compensate to get it back to the same balance, the more dynamics you get out of

your subs and so it's... the bass hits stronger it's more powerful you're

giving the amplifier more room to work I guess

is one way to look at it. And so you know for me at the time right now you can see

I've got the PB-16 over there, and again this kind of this varies because you

know the the PB-16 Ultra has a range goes from -60 to 0 and so

it's a different scale than this. Like on the PB-2000 you know

I've run at about 60 to 65 % gain where is on this it's -13, so

it's kind of a different scale. But anyway... by the way, having this remote for

the PB-16 Ultra, it's kind of cool and one of the reasons it's cool is because

you point to this sub that'll turn this sub up, you point to that sub turn that set

up, so it's kind of directional it seems like it has a narrow beam. I don't know

if that's a happy accident or what, but it allows me...you can see...

I can just change the sub going up and down. So I've been able to

really experiment with this whole idea, and indeed the higher I run the gain

on the subs, the more powerful the bass is overall. If I run it down

lower, the bass is softer. It's... you can still have it balanced, but it's just a

matter of how how hard that impact is when you have an explosion or something

like that. So...and one of the drawbacks to running your sub gain higher and your

AVR lower is that you can have a problem with triggering, and that's when your sub

is auto on or auto off. If you... like right now I have my amplifier (subwoofer trim) at

-10.0, so it's really Rocking! So you know, that means that less

signal is going to the subwoofer to actually trigger it to turn on. Now I

haven't had an issue with the SVS subs they're trigger on is pretty good and

pretty sensitive, so it hasn't been an issue for me. But this is where I talk

about other subs where you may not have the same good response when it comes to

running the AVR (Subwoofer) trim lower and your subwoofer gain

higher, it may cause triggering issues with your subs Auto on feature so you

may have your subs turning off in the middle of a movie or something.

And that can happen if you have a real quiet movie anyway,

but you know it can happen more with running your gain higher on the sub and

AVR (subwoofer) trim lower on the amplifier. So I just want to kind of give you guys my

perspective on and how I see it. Because when I crank up, you know, the

subwoofer gain and turn it down on the AVR, you know... get it balanced to the

same level. Because I don't listen to it you know... the PB-16 Ultras are

not... I don't listen to it that much louder than before, it's just the bass is

stronger when it comes at you, it hits you harder you feel it more in your body as

opposed to the PB-2000's.

I'll go more into that when I do the full review of the PB-16 Ultra. But anyway,

you know, having that remote and everything has really allowed me to mess

around a lot easier. Because... you know there's another thing I should talk

about is, when you're setting your gain, is that you want to have, particularly

when you're running duals, you're going to want to have, you know, your volumes

probably going to be different on this sub, compared to that one. So on this sub

I run -13 at the moment, and on the sub over there it's -16.

I think that has something to do with corner loading. It seems to

put out more, like it's folding the bass wave... anyway. So, you have two level match.

So, for me to go in behind these subs every time, and turn it up turn down

without having it really matched was kind of the pain. So I did it a couple

times and I was able to really kind of figure it out. But having it to where I

could, you know, do it from my chair and make all the adjustments very quickly

it really kind of sealed the deal for me as far as the whole gain issue. And so...

that part has helped, you know having the remote has really helped, and as far as

figuring that out. But really if you're looking for more oomph out of your subs

and you're only running your subwoofer trim at, say -3...

you can try giving your subs a little more gain and taking it down on the AVR. Now

of course there are caveats here. If your subs start complaining because they're

putting out too much power and they're starting to make bad noises, well then

you need to back it down. If you just turn your gain up

and don't compensate for the AVR subwoofer trim, then it's just going to

be way too much bass. So it's not going to be as good that way. So, you know, with

each adjustment you've got to dial it back in. You know, I like listening to

like Norah Jones and stuff like that to get to the bass dialed in to the right

level. So that helps me. By the way, something I found recently is

Metallica's "Lords of Summer" I've been using that a lot more to get the subs

dialed in. I don't know, I really like the way it kicks, and for me when I

have it adjusted right, it provides plenty of kick, but it's not too much... I

don't know, for some reason that song has a really balanced, in such a

way that it allows me to make the adjustments a lot easier and a lot

quicker. So maybe I should go into a video about how I do that too? But anyway

I just wanted to that quick video on adjusting the subwoofer gain. I'm curious

what you guys think. You know particular people that are playing different subs I

know that if you've got a sub that doesn't have a great amplifier, you

might be pushing it to that extreme but I don't know I'm curious what you guys

think and what your experience is. If you turn up the gain on the sub and turn down the AVR

trim, do you get more dynamics? I sure did.

And I actually measured it. I stuck a microphone in the garage and by

turning down the the gain and turning up the AVR trim, I

got less bleed over into the garage. So that's where I came up the whole thing

as far as the apartment video goes. But going the opposite direction for people

that want more, which is a lot more fun, you know cranking up the gain. Now

another thing too, if you're using something like a mini DSP 2x4 to get

your subs dialed in... that tends to take out some of the gain, and so you have to

run your gain higher on your subs to get the same amount output. Because the way

,as I understand it, a 2X4 (MiniDsp 2x4) works it basically works by shaving off

response rather than adding to it I mean it does out a little to it if you do

that but generally it's going to take some of the signal away so you have to

run your gain a bit higher and what I found is when I tried it on these is I

had to run the game almost as public 75% from what I recall yeah it was about

about there so that's what I had to run on to get the same amount of output in

the same balance when running the 2x4 so again there's all these caveats to go

with all this but from my experience at least with the subs I've been working

with the higher you run the gain on the subwoofer itself the more dynamics you

get out of it so curious what you guys think let me know and please subscribe

What have we done?! - First week in our own home - Duration: 8:13.

Good morning it's 6:10 am and we just woke up

We survived the first night in our own house

We had trouble falling asleep, because we had a lot on our mind about the house.

I haven't slept enough apparently

I hope the next night will be better

Edwin has the day off today and he will clean the house a bit

First the bathroom needs to be cleaned. I will show you how it looks now

Before we went to sleep we thoroughly cleaned the toilet, it was really dirty

Inside it's still a bit brown though

We haven't cleaned this sink yet so we're both using this one

This is the shower and it's a bit dirty as well

The edges are really dirty

Everything Hostess Milkshake! - Duration: 12:10.

hey guys what is up today I am super super excited I don't know if any of you

watch Shane Dawson but he has made a bunch of these shake videos and I don't

know if he's done this one yet I cannot recall but today we are making a shake

that is all hostess I'm making a milkshake I was inspired because I was

at the grocery store and I saw a couple ice creams we have back here we have Twinkie

flavored ice cream and hostess cupcake flavored ice cream I am super excited to

try those and to make an amazing milkshake I also have tons of little

hostess snacks that I will be adding to it I got as many as I could find that I

didn't think would destroy it cause I hope to enjoy it

alright let's get started

woah new view alright so we've got our ice creams and we've got all our hostess

snacks and we got our trusty blender hopefully trusty enough and we are going

to get started let's get started with the ice creams we'll start with the

classic that just looks like butter

this is the Twinkie ice cream I'm going to give it a taste before I put it in

whoa that is just really really really strong I haven't had a Twinkie in

a really long time I think I've only had one once ever but I mean it tastes

exactly like it we're going to put a good hunk in have to get a good base now

that we've got that completed we need to add the second ice cream we've got

hostess cupcake flavored ice cream I'm super excited to try this oh my gosh

it's a little frostbitten cause yeah my sister sort of got in this and took some

let's try it oh this has also been sitting out for like 20 minutes because

my sister was eating dinner in the kitchen so I couldn't film so it's like

super soupy

that's really weird it's like super chocolaty like super chocolaty and we're

just gonna add a couple heaping spoonfuls I like this one a lot better

than the Twinkie all right we're gonna need to leave some room for the other

stuff we are gonna get started we're going to start with the ding dongs um

I have had most all of these snacks before including these but we're

going to try them all anyway yep definitely good and in it goes I'm

gonna have a lot of snacks left over to eat alright second we have twinkies

obviously this is the main thing that hostess or what hostess is most known

for I should say and I haven't had one in a very long time I'm not the biggest fan I

don't I didn't used to be let's see

I prefer chocolate if I have to have a cream filling

but in it goes we shall continue ho ho's love me a good ho ho alright

everyone has had a ho ho or most people anyway let's give it a try I like that

going for some powdered donettes oh my gosh it is like 10:10 at night and I am

eating all of these snacks I'm going to be up forever

put a couple of those in... zingers this is one of them that I have not had

actually but I think it's just like the others just frosted

I actually like this because there's not that much filling in it goes ah at this

point I'm just hoping this blender can handle this alright

we've got the chocolate donettes oh I love these these are so good

last but not least before we add the milk we have the cupcakes I could argue

that these are my favorite things from hostess I think they might be um I love these

usually I eat it from the bottom so I can save the frosting for the last

because that's the best part but I just took a bite here's a cross section and

the rest of it is going in it came in a 2-pack but I'm saving the other one for

me alright those are all our hostess

ingredients and snacks let's get a look at the top of the blender this is what we're

working with alright we are going to add milk to this

and we're going to blend it and then we will see how it tastes I'm so excited

hopefully I don't use all the milk because I don't want to be yelled at by

my parents

we'll start with that and see where it goes alright I've also never used this

blender so I'm just hoping I can do it right

here we go

alright let's give it a look alright this is what we got just looks like a normal

brown milkshake but we're gonna give it a try let me go get a big fancy cup alright I

got this giant Cup and we are going to fill it as much as we can with our

milkshake

it's going to fall on the floor I just got it on the edge... oh. my. gosh. okay hold

on cut to when it's all clean and done just

to make it clear this is the situation I'm working with the blade fell in my

drink okay we have gotten all clean but as you can see it does not fill the

entire cup but that is okay because it gives us more room to decorate and make

it look as good as me anyway so here we go we have to use what we have to make

it gorgeous alright so I'm gonna go get a straw and we'll work around that

alright the straw of choice is a purple straw I think it complements the green

well sort of like the Hulk um and now we decorate we can throw a dingdong right

in here like a little floaty oh it's gorgeous here let's get a better look right

here she is you can see the ding-dong

alright there we go my beautiful hostess shake I'm gonna wash my hands

and then we'll get down to business alright guys it is the moment of truth I'm

so excited look at my masterpiece okay we're going to try it I'm so excited

okay really good it kind of just tastes like cake batter it's so chocolatey and

it's kind of room temperature now so it's not like the best but still pretty

good I think

I think we got a thumbs-up from Dudley okay I think this is definitely

something you should try at home go to the store get every hostess thing you

can possibly find ice cream and all milk dump it all in a blender blend it up and

you will have a delicious milkshake uh I do not know if I can finish this um I'm

gonna bet against it

Magnolia seeds have germinated - Duration: 2:19.

Hi I'm George, Germinated Magnolia seeds received from Lyn in Ireland

Hi Lyn :) and the seeds I planted in April

And then I made a video when I planted them

After that they began to germinate, not all

Because the magnolia seeds germinate very hard and

And I'm happy to have germinated some seeds, about 7-8

Kind of like, and I've stratified them for at least 3 months

And I want to show you the results

Here's how the magnolias from the seeds look

They grew very beautiful, these two are very beautiful

And another leaf grows, it's really cool

She has a great magnolia tree

And there are some 10 seeds germinated

At first I said that 8 are germinated, but there are actually 10 if we count

Not long ago

There are many free places, they probably will germinate a few

So we'll see until then, but it's really cool

I'm happy, I did not think they would germinate

That they are quite difficult to germinate

Top 3 BEST Legendary Raid Primaries in Age of Triumph - Duration: 6:24.

Hi Guardians, today we will be looking at the Top 3 Best Legendary Raid Primaries that

you can get from the raids.

These guns are arguably more desirable than their Elemental Adept versions which takes

up an exotic slot , so you will need to sacrifice things like a Black Spindle, Sleeper Stimulant

or a Gjallarhorn to use an Elemental Primary.

In a high skill pve activity like a raid you are probably better off with just a legendary

primary, so let's have a look at the top 3 best legendary raid primary in the game.

In the number three spot we have the Fang of Ir Yut scout rifle from the Crota's end

raid.

This scout rifle sits in the popular 48 impact archetype similar like the hung jury, cryptic

dragon and vision of confluence.

This gun has everything you want from a good scout , it has solid base stats and is an

overall very balanced gun.

It has very solid perks like spray and play, perfect balance and third eye , which makes

it useful for any encounters in PVE but it is also useful for Pvp as well if you prefer

scouts in the crucible.

This is easily one of the best scout rifle that you can get from all the raids.

However this gun sits at the number 3 spot because despite it being an overall good scout

it does not have anything in particular that stands out compared with the other guns in

this top 3.

Thus it earns the number 3 spot.

In the number 2 spot we have the King's Fall pulse rifle the Smite of Merain.

I have here the Adept elemental primary version with the firefly perk , and the legendary

version comes with one of the four perks in the final slot , which is

Glass half full Life support

Firefly And Danger close

Out of these four Firefly is definitely the one that you want to have on your legendary

smite of merain.

This is an excellent pulse rifle for any pve activity, the gun has an healthy mag size

of 30, solid range and the recoil is very easy to manage.

Combine this with Firefly and the gun is just so nice to use in any PVE activity where you

can easily deal with large crowd of enemies.

On top of this since it is a King's Fall raid weapon it comes with the cocoon perk

which automatically reloads the gun when this is stowed, so you can switch around to your

secondary or heavy and when you switch back it will be reloaded so you can immediately

continue your fight in the game.

Definitely use this against any Taken encounters since it also has the Will of light perk which

deals bonus damage to taken enemies.

So as you can see the Smite of Merain with Firefly has solid perk options which works

very well together and it is easily the best raid pulse rifle in the game.

And thus it earns the number 2 spot.

And in the number one spot we actually have two guns.

The Vision of Confluence Scout rifle and the Fatebringer hand cannon which both can be

earned from the Vault of Glass raid.

The reason we have two guns in the number 1 spot is because they are both excellent

guns in their own territory..

The Fatebringer is an amazing hand cannon with such a great collection of perks with

Firelfy , Outlaw and explosive rounds which negates all the of weaknesses of using a hand

cannon.

Traditionally hand cannons suffer from range dropoffs, slow reload and they have a low

mag size.

Having only ten rounds means that you will have trouble dealing large crowd of enemies,

however this is negated with the firefly perk.

Now you can easily deal with multiple enemies with firefly and this also procs outlaw which

means that you can have a fast reload.

And the range dropoff is kinda negated with explosive rounds which does not suffer from

range drop off which allows the fatebringer to still being able to do some damage on those

longer ranges.

So the gun is very strong on the short to medium range , however even though it has

explosive rounds you will struggle with hitting enemies which are further away, also hand

cannons has been hit with an ammo nerf so you will be looking for ammo most of the time.

This can become a problem in certain parts of the raid where you need to lock down a

specific platform or area which will not allow you to find ammo for your primary.

On the other hand we have the Vision of Confluence which is an excellent scout rifle with superb

stability and it has an high mag size 19 and it is full auto!

It is without a doubt the king of scouts in the game.

Where the Fatebringer lacks in range and ammo, the vision of confluence makes that up, since

it is a scout rifle you won't be having problems with hitting targets that are further

away and it generally does not suffer from any ammo issues as with the Fatebringer.

You have plenty of ammo to lock down a certain platform or area in the raid without the need

to search for white ammo blocks.

And that is why these two guns are in the number 1 spot , because they are both the

best gun to use depending on the situation.

If you are in a short to medium range encounters like most of the areas in the vault of glass

use the fatebringer , if you are out on an open map with targets from a far like the

King's Fall raid, there you will be better off with the Vision of confluence.

And you want to switch these two guns around as well based on the ammo needed in each encounter.

For example I would prefer to use the vision in the Vosik fight simply because there are

so many adds and you don't want to die because you ran out of ammo.

But on the other hand I would prefer the Fatebringer in the Vault of glass raid, which has more

flexibility for you to run around to get ammo since you are not forced to stay at a particular

area in comparison with the Vosik encounter.

These two guns are easily the best legendary primaries in the game and if you don't have

one yet go get it, these guns sound great, look great, and are fantastic to use.

These are truly trophies of beating the hardest activity in the game.
