Youtube daily report w Aug 19 2017

Hello everyone and welcome back!

Let's talk about word division.

In this day and age of word processors and document creating applications, it's not much

of an issue.

But what is it anyway?

Word division is where you have a long word at the end of a line and you want to break

it; and then, continue with the word on the next line.

We break words by its syllable.

A syllable is a single-word sound that is uninterrupted.

For example: man, eye, strength, and sixths are all single syllable words; whereas the

word syllable has three.

The word division occurs with a hyphen.

It divides the word that does not fit in its entirety at the end of a typed or printed

line.

The hyphen is used on the line where the word starts and is placed between syllables.

For example, English is a two syllable word, so the hyphen would be where that little red

dot is on the page.

Some considerations when dividing a word are:

One syllable words cannot be divided.

Avoid dividing words with six or fewer letters.

Don't isolate one or two letters on a line.

So, for example, baboon and apartheid; baboon has only six letters, so you wouldn't even

break that.

Apartheid, you would break between the 't' and the 'h'.

Not the 'a' and the 'p'.

Divide between single letter syllables.

Situation.

The 'u' and 'a' are single letter syllables, so you would put the hyphen between the 'u'

and the 'a'.

Divide between double consonants, for example: baggage and sufficient.

You would put the hyphen between the 'g's and the 'f'.

Proper nouns can't be divided.

Do not separate contractions.

Prefixes and suffixes make natural divisions.

Divide already hyphenated words at their hyphen, for example: mother-in-law.

And always consider readability when breaking a word.

I'm going to use a word document example of hyphenation, and the part I'm going to use

is out of the Declaration of Independence.

So, let's go ahead over to the word document and look at what happens when we use word

division.

So here's my word document.

And I copied the portion of the declaration of independence here.

So, if you look at the highlighting, the political and the pursuit, these are single words.

And right now, the text is left justified, so now if I...or left aligned.

Now, if I decided I wanted to justify my text, it does this.

And now, let's say I want to use hyphenation.

Well, I go to page layout; I select hyphenation; and I do automatic and it will automatically

hyphenate political and pursuit.

I hope you enjoyed this video on word division.

Then it's decided!

It's from Subaru-kun.

It says "mission complete". Great!

Yume, what is this "mission"?

I wanted to get something nice for Hime-senpai and the others.

I had him subtly ask them what they wanted.

Oh right, the guys are doing a dress rehearsal with them right now.

The girls said that they'd be really happy with four-leaf clovers.

Four-leaf clovers?

They do say they bring good fortune...

Can we find them in time for the show?

We'll help you out, Yume-chan!

If we all look together, we're sure to succeed.

Right?

Yeah!

I'm certain of that.

Thank you so much, Akari-chan!

The one thing - Be More Chill - Duration: 5:21.

Another story I heard about myself (oh boi here we go)

This one happened in highschool

Uhhhhhhhh we had this teacher in highschool who's kid WENT to our highschool

His name was Mr. McNamara and his son Jake McNamara went to our highschool

He was a Sophomore when I was a Senior so he was 2 years behind me (America what???)

And Mr. McNamara, was an ASSHOLE

And one weekend he and his wife decided to leave town (Who does that honeslty)

Which you should never do, if you're an asshole

And jake McNamara decided to throw a party at the teacher's house (you do you babe)

Hooray! (MY BABY)

And everyone arround town heard about it (like,, 6 children heard about it really)

And we all (6) got up individually and thought: Okay, let's go over there and DESTROY THE PLACE

I walk into this party (I knew you were trouble when you walked in)

Everyone I have ever met was there (like 5 people)

And everyone was drinking like it was the end of the world (I wish)

People were drinking like it was the civil war and a doctor was coming to saw our legs off

It was totally unsupervised we were like dog without horses we were running wild

I walked down

(dammit these laughs breaks)

I walked down to the basement, they had a pool table in the basement (americans)

One dude took a running start and threw his body onto the table and broke it in half (Rich jfc)

Another kid (the same one) found out which room was Mr. McNamara's

And went upstairs and took a shit on his computer (RICH JFC)

So the party was going great (yay)

I'm standing in the basement and I'm holding a red cup you see in movies (it's not red shut I know shut up)

And I'm standing there, and I'm holding a red cup

And I'm starting to black out (got I wish that were me)

And I guess someone said like "something something police" (look at my girl)

And in a brilliant moment of word association I yelled:

FUCK THE POLICE

And everyone else joined in

A 100 (8) drunk white children (Michael and Christine ain't white you bitch)

Yelling "FUCK DA POLICE

With the confidence of guys who have like already went to jail and aren't afraid of it anymore

You know that like "I SERVED MY NICKLE YOU COME AND TAKE ME" confidence

But white children (Jeremy I swear to god)

The reason someone (my girl) had said "Something something police"

Was because the police were there (look at that car)

So a Chicago police officer walked down the stairs and got to the bottom of the basement

And looked out over a sea (8 kids) of drunk todlers yelling "FUCK THE POLICE"

In his FACE (Rich my boi stop this madness

And he was almost impressed (same)

He's like "wooooooow"

And then he leaned into his walkie talkie and went "get the patty wagon" (look at that sweet animation)

And my friend Jenna who is now a mother this woman now has a baby (lies)

She grabbed a fourty, smashed it on the ground and yelled (idk what it says ok I'm a bilingual mess)

And everyone ran into different directions

We all ran into different directions

It was like that scene in Ratatouille when the humans come into the kitchen and all the rats go in different ways

We all ran in different directions

I ran into the laundry room and I jumped up in the washing machine and I crawled out through a window

Into the backyard and I'm RUNNING thought the backyard and there was this BIG (something) fence

And I thought: "I HAVE NEVER CLIMBED A FENCE THAT HIGH BEFORE"

And then I woke up at home (not alone aye)

(Jfc people have loud laughs)

On monday I went to school because that's what we did back then

And I walked into the school building and who do I see but (an angel) Jake McNamara

And he says to me: Hey, were you at my party on saturday?

And I said No, you know, like a liar (oh I know)

And he said: Things got really out of hand

Someone broke the pool table (I wonder who)

Someone took a shit on my dad's computer (ew)

"But the worst thing" he says

"the worst thing is that someone stole this old antique phones of my grandmother and my parents are freaking out about it"

And I had that thought that only blackout drunks and Steve (famous guy name) can have

Did... did I do that?

I figured, no, I wouldn't have done that

But I was never sure

Until, 2 years later

Relax

(LOUD FUCKING LAUGHTER)

I'm playing video games with this kid named Michael that we also went to highschool with

2 years later we've graduaded by now

We're playing (a two player game) for a couple of hours

And then Michael says to me "Hey come heere, I wanna show you something"

And he takes me into his bedroom (aye) and then he takes me into his sideroom off of his bedroom

NEVER A GOOD THING TO HAVE

He shows me a tiny room that is covered wall to wall in stolen antique photos from different people's parties over the years

And I said "WHY?

"Why did you do this?"

And Michael said: BECAUSE IT'S THE ONE THING YOU CAN'T REPLACE

FUCKIGN BYE

8 Trends You Can Ditch Before 2018 - Duration: 5:31.

Should "buy now and dispose of later" be your motto when it comes to fashion?

Some of 2017's trends have been resurrected from the early '90s and others have, unfortunately,

been resurrected from the fashion graveyard.

So, which looks are here to stay, and what will end up at the thrift store?

We asked some of the top fashion and style experts, designers, bloggers, and influencers

for the upcoming fashion forecast.

Silly statement t-shirts

According to celebrity stylist, television personality, and podcaster Ali Levine, powerful

slogan shirts are where it's at.

She told us,

"The rise of empowerment has opened up clothing more and more to have a voice.

People are wearing their feelings and words more and more."

Exhibit A. The designer Jac Vanek's Couch Hoodie which says,

"I wish I loved exercising as much as I love sitting on the couch and eating everything."

Humorous, brutally honest, and mostly true.

On the flip side, more serious, politically-oriented items are also becoming trendier, such as

Red Bubble's "Viva La Resistance" t-shirt.

But as 2017 winds down, expect to see these kinds of shirts give way to less literal looks.

Corset belts

If you love your corset belt, you better wear it now so you're over it by the time 2018

hits.

This trend is not here to stay.

Blogger Amanda Katherine told us she thinks that Kylie Jenner is giving the corset belt

the Kardashian kiss of death.

She said,

"Kylie Jenner was just spotted out in Miami with Travis Scott wearing a t-shirt dress

with a cream-colored corset belt."

Although this look is on its way out, Katherine is still a fan.

She compliments them for their ability to give your body an hourglass shape — whether

you have one or not.

Painful shoes

Podiatrist and luxury footwear designer Joan Oloff sees women gravitating away from painful

footwear.

She told The List,

"What I see going out of style by 2018 is pain!"

Oloff believes the tides are turning when it comes to female footwear preferences.

She believes that women no longer believe that they have to suffer to feel sexy in their

footwear.

Oloff says,

"In 2018, women are becoming empowered and choosing fashion that coexists with function.

We are just at the beginning of this shift and I am excited about what we are seeing

for Spring!"

Pom poms

Fashion influencer and personal style Instagrammer Amanda Brooke thinks pom poms and other tiny

decorative and furry frills will be on the "not" list by 2018, telling us,

"There's definitely a long list of trends that will be out the door in 2018 and at the

top of that list are chokers, furry slides, patches and just about anything with pom poms

or tassels."

But what should you do if you want to wear any of these trendy items?

Brooke suggests avoiding the urge to overly invest in them both financially and emotionally.

She says,

"Since items like these tend to go out of style so quickly, I always recommend buying

more accessible versions of the trend so you don't break the bank every season."

Big jewelry

Leon Rbibo, who is the president of the jewelry store The Pearl Source, predicts chunky accessories

such as large, bulky necklaces, big bracelets, as well as clunky, and oversized earrings

are on their way out.

Over the past months, he has really seen how customers are being drawn more towards streamlined,

sleek styles.

He says,

"The driving factor behind this might very well be Millennials, who have shown a tendency

to favor more simple, classic looks.

Subtle chic is what we like to call it."

Rbibo thinks that pearls are going to be big in 2018.

Allure magazine says we're in the middle of a "a pearl renaissance."

If everyone from Beyonce to Michelle Obama are on board — so are we!

Male Rompers

2017 gave us the male romper.

But fashion and grooming expert Aidan Gill, who's been featured in both Esquire and GQ,

cannot see how this craze can continue.

He says,

"The [male] romper is a fad that is likely to end up as a GQ regrets sidebar."

In fact, Gill sees men foregoing trends all together and embracing more traditional and

less of-the-moment styles in the future — from the lumberjack look, to the classic suit,

along with a few more bold looks like the high-waisted pant a la the Spanish bullfighter,

and the vest with jeans look a la Chandler Bing.

Unicorn everything

If there was one trend that will not go away in 2017, it's unicorns.

If something could become unicorn, we found a way to do it.

According to The New York Times, this includes food, such as Starbucks' Unicorn Frappuccino,

unicorn toast and more.

For a while, it seemed as if you couldn't look at anyone's Instagram without seeing

#unicorn.

Of course, there's also unicorn makeup featured in Allure, and unicorn headbands, chokers

and bikinis available to us all at Forever 21.

However, Lindsey Cummins, CEO of Winq, a social polling app for Millennials, shared with us

that it's looking like the great unicorn craze is about to fly off.

Judging from the data gathered by Winq, the unicorn should go the way of the dodo bird

by 2018.

Travel boho

Corey Varga who writes the blog You Could Travel, thinks the travel boho chic look that's

currently permeating Instagram will be done by 2018.

She told us,

"All those lovely peasant tops and embroidered dresses will be totally gone way before the

end of the year."

She predicts this look is evolving to become gypsy surf.

A subset of bohemianism, she explains that it's inspired by beach destinations around

the world.

Think rainbow-hues and surf wear.

As far as what these clothes will be made out of, she predicts we're going towards better-crafted

fabrics that promote long-term use and recycling.

ALERT: Al Sharpton Issues Nasty Demand to Americans | Top Stories Today - Duration: 3:16.

There is a fierce debate over whether or not Confederate statues should be removed, or

at the very least, moved.

Veteran race-baiter, Al Sharpton, recently voiced his opinion on what should be done

with our nation's Civil War monuments.

According to Independent Journal Review, not only does Sharpton think that Confederate

statues need to to be removed, but he also believes that federal funding to the legendary

Jefferson Memorial needs to stop as well.

His reasoning is that he doesn't think tax dollars should go towards supporting a statue

of a slave owner.

Sharpton's stance is quite ironic, since he was recently under fire for tax evasion.

Sharpton made his announcement not long after President Trump asked during a press conference

"Are we going to take down statues to George Washington?

How about Thomas Jefferson?"

At the time of his comment, President Trump seemed to be asking (sarcastically) if we

should erase all of history.

The point was to show how insane the Democrat's attempt to destroy history seemed.

Instead of seeing the point that the president was trying to make, Liberals saw it as a call

to arms.

Sharpton explained his point of view further during an interview with Charlie Rose on PBS.

"People need to understand that people were enslaved," Sharpton stated.

It is almost as if he believes people deny slavery existed here, or deny that it continues

to exist right now in some parts of the world.

As you would imagine, many people are frustrated with Sharpton's point of view.

What is most irritating to some people is his bold statement that tax dollars are used

to keep the Jefferson Memorial in good shape, when he's been accused of not paying taxes

in the past.

The New York Times reported that he has a total of $4.5 million in unpaid taxes between

federal and state balances owed.

In fact, his for-profit group, the National Action Network, has been in business for years,

and there are signs that not a single dollar of theirs went towards paying federal payroll

taxes.

Despite not paying his taxes, Sharpton still traveled first class, received an impressive

salary, and refused to pay travel agencies, hotels, and landlords.

It seems odd that someone who never can be bothered to pay for things is worried about

where our tax dollars are going.

After Al Sharpton's statement, the internet bit back.

One user tweeted, "Al Sharpton doesn't pay his taxes but is concerned about the use

of taxpayer dollars for public monuments.

None of those dollars are his!"

Another user pointed out that, "Al Sharpton should pay his back taxes before he preaches

on public funds."

Quite a valid point, yet the irony of the situation seems to escape Al Sharpton.

The lesson here is simple.

You cannot erase history just because it makes you uncomfortable.

Furthermore, if you are going to avoid paying taxes, you should not preach about how upset

you are over where the tax dollars are going.

What we see here is Liberal hypocrisy as it's absolute finest.

Al Sharpton spoke out about Confederate statues and taxpayer money.

Does he have any credibility?

Making A Beat From Scratch With No MIDI Keyboard/Controller. THIS SLAPS! - Duration: 12:46.

What's hannin guys. Welcome to my first video. Sorry if my chair makes a bunch of squeaky sounds, but I mean

There's nothing I can really do about that.. its kind of pissing me off too, but yeah, this is my first video

I'm planning on dedicating this channel to just music stuff like

Producing beats or maybe even rapping I don't know but I mean like people change their mind

So we'll just have to see about that, but for now I'm just planning on just sticking to music on this channel.

Music is my hobby. I've been religiously doing music ever since I was a little kid

It wasn't until like after I graduated high school where I kind of took a long break

I guess it kind of just lost inspiration passion for it

It's been about like three years since I went MIA with this whole music stuff

But recently one of my homies hit me up and he kind of just like put some inspiration in me so so yeah

I think it's been about like two weeks since I started making beats again. within those two weeks

I've just been trying to get familiar with

The whole like program and all that. Back then I used to use Fruity Loops but I didn't really make beats hardcore like that

Right now I have Logic Pro X, so I've been getting familiar with that program.

Now I don't consider myself a pro or anything

I actually consider myself an amateur. So yeah, at the end of this video if you think this beat sucks. Well, that's cause

I'm a noob.

The reason why I started channel is because

I guess I want to consider it like a log. Something I can use to keep track of my progress

Let's say like after a year I'll look back to this video and be like man I improved a lot.

Today I'm not planning on making like a super complicated beat or anything like that

I'm just gonna stay pretty simple. Also like the title says I'm not going to be using a midi keyboard or a Midi controller

And that's because I honestly don't have one right now

I kind of want to prove to myself that I'm going to be consistent with you know making beats

I don't want to go out and buy like a really nice Midi controller

And end up not using it after a few months because I lost inspiration or something like that

So yea for the time being I'm going to be making beats without a midi keyboard or anything like that

I honestly thought it was gonna be really hard to do it first, but after a while. I mean you just kind of get used to it

It's just really uncomfortable to use the virtual keyboard sometimes especially if you're trying to play like a bunch of chords, but yeah

I guess this video is also for those of you who can't afford You know like expensive equipment

If you're trying to practice or learn making beats or if you're just doing it as a hobby honestly you don't really need like super expensive equipment.

Oh yeah by the way. I'm not using like super nice speakers right now. I'm using like these really old like

Speakers

I don't know how well the speakers are gonna deliver the sound to the camera

Especially when I start playing like 808s or something like that. bear with me, once I edit the video I'll kind you know

Realize what I need to use or get to kind of improve my video and sound quality so yeah

Let's get started with the first video. Let's get it

Okay, so I have logic loaded up on my screen right now

I kind of don't know where start because I'm pretty much making this from scratch so

I don't know what kind of beat

It's gonna turn out to be but I'm thinking of I think I'm going to start off with a synth

Maybe like a kinda you know like a fat synth. You know because

Gotta keep thick you feel me. Nah, I'm just playin I don't know what I'm saying

Actually, I think I am gonna start off with a synth

I'm not going to be using like you know like those expensive plugins or anything like that

I'm just going to stick to what logic has given me and maybe some like outside

You know sound kits so. Oh and by the way it really does take me a while to

Find a sound that I really like so I'm not going to have you guys

Watch me go through that process because honestly this video is going to end up like really long

So I'll just cut all the portions out. All right guys

So I found a synth. So I got the tempo set to 110 uh let's see how fast that is

All right so right off the bat, I can tell that I wasn't playing you know like in sync to the tempo

I mean it was kind of like offbeat. I think so

I'm gonna you know quantize the melody. So I quantized the melody let's go have a listen

Nothing too complex. I'm just keeping it real simple

I'm thinking about like adding like a bell or something. alright guys. I found this bell sound that I kind of like

Let's get it

I'm just gonna go ahead and quantize and loop that. So this is how it sounds

Ima go ahead and add an 808

Where the 808s at.. alright guys, so I found an 808 that I like. I added some distortion

And I compressed it a little bit. This is how it sounds like

Just going to layer the 808 with Kick

I'ma lower the sound of the 808 and the kick

Just because I feel like the camera's not gonna catch that sound really well. So this is what we have so far

thank God for the quantizing feature Yeah, I've been feeling really offbeat today

Alright, so I'm gonna use this snare to kind of layer the clap, maybe add like an extra hit somewhere in there

Time for them hi hats. Alright so this is the hi hat sound

I'm going to be using the note repeat function because I'm just you know I just don't want to

keep tapping this button. For those of you who don't know what Note Repeat is, pretty much you can choose a rate and

Pretty much hold the key down, and it'll play whatever sound at that rate. Ah, that's a little too fast

Ima go a little slow

Yeah something like that

what the....

Hold up dude that synth turned into something just pathetic

Alright, so I change the synth back to the original one. Ima use note repeat for the hi-hat like I mentioned

let's get it

All right, so I kind of messed with the hi-hats a little bit not too much. This is how it sounds now

So honestly, I was thinking about just cutting off the beat like this. I just wanna keep it simple

I don't want to add like a bunch of sounds. I don't want the beat to feel too crowded or anything like that

But I decided I'm going to add one more sound it's going to be like

Kinda similar to a flute. Something Ima use for like the hook when I arrange u know everything. Aight this is the flute

I quantized that to how I like umm kind of loop that once. This is how it sounds.

Kinda leave it in the background like real quietly

Kinda for like the hook

I might not use it at all idk we'll see. So Ima add like this one last finishing touch. it's a surprise

All right, so this is the final product. I mean it's not finalized or anything like that

I gotta mess with the volume um I gotta mix it

Definitely have to mix this. But I mean like here's a little rough draft

Kind of reminds me of like a DJ mustard, TYGA

Maybe like yg

Or something like that - I don't know it's like a mix of all of em

So here's what I'm gonna do I'm about to take my time and kind of like

Arrange it kind of like mix it a little bit maybe change the color of these little things

I think it's honestly like pretty fun changing the colors of these things

Yeah, I'm going to kind of like tweak the beat a little bit and then

I'll kind of show you like the arranged version?

I added like you know like drop effects and all that. So this is how I ended up arranging all this

Let's have a listen

So that's the beat I'm going to play like a higher quality version in the background like maybe in the outro of this video

I don't consider myself a pro or anything like that

Still got like a lot more to learn with this whole music production stuff. If you liked the video make sure you give it a thumbs up

if you didn't just still give it a thumbs up. Make sure to subscribe because I will be posting at least once a week

I got a lot more beats coming for you guys so stay tuned. I'll see you in my next video
