Top 10 Most Powerful Jedi Knights in the Star Wars Universe - Duration: 18:53.

Top 10 Most Powerful Jedi Knights in the Star Wars Universe

If you're unfamiliar with Star Wars, The Jedi are an Order whose origins span back

for more than a thousand generations.

They are Force-sensitive beings of all races, shapes and sizes found throughout the entirety

of the known galaxy and who have vowed to uphold peace and justice within the Galactic

Republic.

From a very young age, those who are Force-sensitive are found by the Order in order to begin their

training to become Jedi themselves one day.

But while they focus on the light side of the Force, their usual enemies, the Sith,

embrace the dark side, and they are often in conflict with each other.

By the time of the Clone Wars, there were about 10,000 Jedi in the Galaxy, but after

the infamous Order 66 they were all but wiped out.

10.

Qui-Gon Jinn

"Life does not treat you fairly or unfairly, it merely is.

It is up to each of us to be fair, or unfair."

– Qui-Gon

Even though Qui-Gon Jinn died at the end of the first prequel movie at the hands of Darth

Maul, he was one of the most powerful Jedi of his age.

And to be fair, the Jedi didn't have to deal with the Sith for a thousand years, believing

them to be gone.

Nevertheless, Qui-Gon was one of the best swordsmen of the Jedi Order, using the Ataru

style of combat to near perfection.

This fighting style was highly aggressive, with powerful two-handed attacks.

Its drawbacks, however, were its weak defense in cramped spaces, and fatigue – especially

at an older age, something which Darth Maul knew and took advantage of.

Qui-Gon was admitted to the Jedi Order at a very young age due to his strong affinity

with the Force, and became the Padawan (a trainee to a Jedi Knight or Master) to Count

Dooku.

When Qui-Gon was ready to become a Jedi Knight, Dooku told him of his only weakness – Qui-Gon's

compassion towards all life.

Dooku told him of the inevitability of betrayal, always coming from a friend.

This compassion was what drove him to save both Jar-Jar Binks and Anakin Skywalker from

their fates in the first place, and it stemmed from Qui-Gon's attunement to the Living

Force.

This view of the force was what made him such a good Jedi, by allowing Qui-Gon to sense

what others around him were feeling.

The Living Force was a method through which he could focus more on the moment and deal

with various situations as they developed.

Following this form of the Force, Qui-Gon was seen as a Gray Jedi, a rogue who didn't

always follow the rules or directions to the letter.

This is the reason for why Qui-Gon was never part of the Jedi Council, even though they

all saw great knowledge and wisdom in him.

The Living Force was what gave Qui-Gon the abilities of mind control, as well as the

power to turn into a Force Ghost after his death – the first Jedi ever to achieve this.

In this ghost form, he was able to guide both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda in their future quests,

as well as to teach them this ability.

9.

Lord Hoth

"To drive the darkness away, it seems, the light will have to perish with it!"

– Lord Hoth

The reason for the Sith's disappearance for one thousand years before the events taking

place in the movies is due in large part to Hoth, a Jedi Lord.

This was an unofficial title given to Jedi Knights who had taken it upon themselves to

defend various planets and systems from Sith attacks.

This was a period when the Galactic Republic was weakest, and only the central-most planetary

systems were effectively defended.

Ever since he was a young boy, he fantasized about one day, singlehandedly defeating the

Sith and making the Galaxy a better place.

His real name was Rohlan, but later became known as Hoth after defeating a ring of Sith

pirates on the ice planet with the same name, and then freeing up the

Corellian Trade Spine that connected most of the Galaxy.

With this victory, he also became a Jedi Master and the Order's Battlemaster – the lightsaber

instructor for the Jedi Academy.

He later became the Army of Light's general, fighting against the Brotherhood of Darkness

under the Sith Lord Skere Kaan.

Even though the Army of Light was assembled out of desperation in face of the growing

Sith threat, with very little equipment and training, it nevertheless saw great triumph

under Lord Hoth.

He was able to motivate them in their hour of need against the darkness and defeat all

the Sith, with the exception of Darth Bane.

During the Seventh Battle of Ruusan, Hoth and the Jedi faced off against Kaan and his

remaining Sith, where they would defeat them, thus bringing an end to the so-called New

Sith Wars and the subsequent reformation of the Galactic Republic.

But in doing so, both Hoth and the Jedi were killed after Lord Kaan detonated the infamous

Thought Bomb.

This was a weapon of great power and fueled by the dark side of the Force, capable of

killing anyone Force-sensitive in its blast radius; the Sith included.

Darth Bane was the only one who survived this conflict, by being far away when the bomb

detonated.

Bane went into hiding, created the Sith Rule of Two, and founded the new Order of the Sith

Lords, which would only resurface a thousand years later with Senator Palpatine.

8.

Galen Marek (aka Starkiller)

NOTE: Before we start talking about this character, you should know that he is the protagonist

in the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed I & II video games, and this description is filled

with spoilers.

"Lord Vader was a broken shadow of his former self…

I knew that one day you would replace him."

– Palpatine, to Marek

Galen Marek was a Force-sensitive boy, born on the Wookiee home planet of Kashyyyk from

two Jedi Knights who deserted the Jedi Order during the Clone Wars.

After his mother's death, his father was killed by Darth Vader, who was searching the

galaxy for the remainder of the Jedi.

Before killing his father, however, Vader asked him where his master was.

Vader was sensing someone very powerful with the Force nearby, who was actually Galen himself.

He then took the orphaned boy in order to train him as his apprentice in the ways of

the Sith.

Now, even though the Sith Rule of Two clearly stated that there will only be two Sith at

any given time, Darth Vader trained Galen in secret in order to use him one day to overthrow

Emperor Palpatine, a.k.a. Darth Sidious.

With his memories suppressed and his childhood all but forgotten, Galen would become a formidable

Sith assassin who would do his master's bidding.

His powers were so great that he was even able to kill several fugitive Jedi Masters

and former High Council members who escaped Order 66.

Also known as Starkiller, Galen Marek became a powerful fighter, due in large part to Vader's

brutal training regime.

Vader would teach Galen to always fight at a disadvantage, with either his bones broken

or being almost starved to death.

The other reason for his awesome power came from his use of the Force.

At the mere age of 17, he had the abilities of Force Push, Force Lightning, or Force Repulse.

Galen was even able to survive a near fatal lightsaber stab wound, and then the vacuum

of space.

He also survived falling from orbit onto a planet's surface without even breaking a

sweat.

Another notable feat was when he pulled a Star Destroyer from orbit and made it crash

to the ground.

But for all his powers and Force sensitivity, he was trained to be used only as a tool in

Vader's plans and never did become more knowledgeable as a Force-user beyond his combat

skills.

After he was betrayed not once, but twice by Vader, he slowly turned to the light side

of the Force, mostly on his own.

In fact, it was Vader, with the aid of Starkiller, who ignited the Rebel Alliance in the first

place as a way to distract the attention of the Emperor.

But in the end, Galen gave his life at the hands of Palpatine and became a martyr for

the rebels.

These rebels would then use the Marek family crest as the symbol for the Alliance.

7.

Plo Koon

"You always were the most humble, polite, stubborn, and difficult Padawan, Plo."

– Master Tyvokka

Plo Koon was a member of the Kel Dor species of aliens that developed on a planet with

little to no oxygen.

This was the reason for his mask and goggles when he was off world, as oxygen was poisonous

to his species.

He became a powerful and well respected Jedi Master who served on the High Council until

his death following the events of Order 66.

Plo Koon was good friends with Qui-Gon Jinn and shared his concern towards all forms of

life.

He was the one who discovered Ahsoka Tano, who would later become Anakin Skywalker's

Padawan.

Plo Koon was tutored by Tyvokka, a Wookiee Jedi Master.

Like many members of his species, Koon made a clear distinction between right and wrong,

sometimes even bordering on vigilantism, with little regard for the outcome of the situation.

This, combined with his general attitude and sarcastic wit, often times pushed his Wookiee

master's fine limits.

When it came to his lightsaber abilities, he was almost unmatched among the Jedi.

Darth Maul considered him to be the greatest Jedi warrior, even though they never dueled.

Plo Koon was a master of the fifth form of lightsaber combat, called Shien, which involved

power-attacks, defense and quick counter-attacks.

Master Plo also excelled in telekinesis, being able to move objects without even looking

at them.

He also mastered the Force technique known as

Electric Judgment, similar to the Sith Force Lightning, but without channeling any anger

or fear in it.

Knowledgeable in physics, he often used the Force to change the environment to his advantage,

by creating small whirlwinds, fog, freezing water, or raising the temperature to suit

his purpose.

Among other things, he was a renowned space pilot, some calling him the third best Jedi

pilot after Anakin and Saesee Tiin, another High Council member.

It was in the air where Plo Koon died, leading his Clone Troopers who attacked and killed

him under the Order 66.

6.

Kit Fisto

"Those who have power should restrain themselves from using it."

– Kit Fisto

Kit Fisto was among the many Jedi who fought in the Battle of Geonosis, the conflict that

ignited the Clone Wars, and was among the very few who survived.

He then became a Jedi General during the war, leading the Clone Troopers on various missions

throughout the conflict.

He almost defeated General Grievous in a lightsaber duel, severing several of his mechanical limbs

before Grievous managed to escape to a control room.

He was the only one to survive that particular ambush mission, where his former Padawan,

Nahdar Vebb, was killed by Grievous in a lightsaber duel.

Kit Fisto was also present when Mace Windu, alongside two other Jedi Masters, tried to

arrest Chancellor Palpatine after learning of him being the missing Sith Lord.

He was, however, struck down by the Chancellor soon after the fighting commenced.

He was a Nautolan, making him able to live both on the surface, as well as in water,

and his large eyes were particularly adapted for low-light vision.

The long tentacles on his head gave him the ability to sense pheromone-based expressions

of emotion from those around him.

Fisto was a practitioner and master of the first form of lightsaber combat, known as

Shii-Cho, or the Determination Form.

This fighting form aimed more at disarming the opponent rather than killing him and was

particularly advantageous when fighting many opponents at once.

His green lightsaber contained two crystals, allowing it to work underwater; an environment

where Fisto would truly shine as a swordsman.

He was also able to channel the Force in order to manipulate water currents, as well as to

generate a Force Orb, an ability used underwater to create a giant ball of air and direct it

at an opponent.

He had a positive outlook on life and a developed sense of humility to go with it, and he almost

always sported a smile on his face… even after his death, when Anakin found his smiling

head on the Chancellor's desk.

5.

Nomi Sunrider

"…Nomi Sunrider.

One of the greatest of all Jedi Knights."

– Tionne Solusar

Not much is known about Nomi Sunrider prior to her marring Andur Sunrider, a Jedi Knight

in training, who was killed before her eyes by a band of mercenaries.

She would then take up her husband's Jedi mantle, so to speak, by training under Jedi

Master Thon, among others.

Why she wasn't taken on by the Jedi when she was still a child is unknown.

Nevertheless, Nomi then faced a series of challenges very few others had before, or

since.

She was a valiant warrior during the Naddist Uprising and the Great Sith War, during which

she faced some of the most powerful Sith Lords of all time: Exar Kun and his apprentice,

Qel-Droma.

She was in large part responsible for uniting the Jedi together in defeating the Sith.

After the victory in this war, nearly a quarter of all the planets in the galaxy were left

devastated and the remainder of the Sith went into hiding.

Nomi Sunrider would then rise among the Jedi ranks to achieve the title of Master, and

then Grand Master of the Jedi Order, some 4,000 years before the events in the Star

Wars movies.

Nomi Sunrider was exceptionally good with the lightsaber, even though she initially

refused to use it after witnessing her husband's death.

During the Naddist Uprising she singlehandedly defeated an overwhelming number of opponents.

Nomi even had the rare ability to separate a Force-sensitive being from their powers.

By channeling her emotions, she was able to rip the Sith Lord Qel-Droma from the Force

permanently, and he was never again able to use his powers.

Even thousands of years after her death, she is still often mentioned and given as an example

among the Jedi.

4.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

"Obi-Wan is a great mentor; as wise as Master Yoda, and as powerful as Master Windu."

– Anakin Skywalker

For all his later great deeds as a Jedi Master, Obi-Wan almost didn't become a Jedi in the

first place.

While he was taken on to become one from infancy, those young trainees who would not be chosen

by a Master as their Padawan until they turned 13 were sent to serve in the Jedi Service

Corps.

Kenobi was assigned to work for the Agricultural Corps, but as fate would have it, Qui-Gon

Jinn was sent on a mission to the same planet, and the two would work together to survive

it.

The mission was, in fact, a trap for Qui-Gon put in place by his former Padawan turned

Dark Jedi, Xanatos.

From that moment on, Qui-Gon took Obi-Wan as his apprentice.

By avenging his Master's death and being the first Jedi to defeat a Sith in over one

thousand years, Obi-Wan was made a Jedi Knight without needing to pass any more trials; something

unheard of in the Order.

And even though Yoda told him that he sensed Qui-Gon's disobedience in him, Kenobi was

quite orthodox in his views and actions.

His soft-spoken demeanor and humble nature helped him resolve many disputes without the

use of violence, earning him the nickname of 'The Negotiator'.

But despite his preference for diplomacy, he was one of the best lightsaber duelists

in Jedi history.

As Mace Windu put it, Obi-Wan wasn't just a master of Soresu, but the master of Soresu.

This was the third form of lightsaber form of combat known for its defensive nature and

was considered the ultimate expression of the non-aggressive Jedi way.

During the Clone Wars, Kenobi was able to glide through blaster fire with ease and was

even able to parry as many as 18 lightsaber strikes per second coming from General Grievous,

who he even defeated.

His Force abilities were quite extensive, from Animal Bond to Dominate Mind and Force

Push to Force Deflection, Force Repulse and Force Crush; all powers very difficult to

master.

He even learned to become a Force Ghost from his former Master while in this form, with

which he guided Luke Skywalker after his own death.

3.

Mace Windu

"For the Order and the Republic, I will give anything and everything, including my

life."

– Mace Windu

Mace Windu was seen as a living legend among his Jedi peers.

He served as the Master of the Order (the elected leader) up until the Battle of Geonosis,

when he gave it up in favor of Grand Master Yoda.

His wisdom weighed heavily in the decisions of the Jedi Order and his power made him the

champion of all the Jedi and the leading defender of the galaxy, second only to Yoda himself.

By the age of 14, Mace consecutively achieved top of his class, surpassing even some Masters

in the use of the Force as well as the blade.

However, he didn't construct his own lightsaber until he acquired the crystals needed via

a worthy challenge.

Thus, he was sent to the planet Hurikane on his own.

There, he was first chased off by the beings who called that planet home, but after saving

one of them, he was rewarded with the rare purple crystal for his future lightsaber.

In his youth, he was described by Dooku as an "arrogant little Padawan," which was

in part true.

He was confident in is abilities and slow to trust others.

He was, nevertheless, respectful towards his superiors, mainly Yoda, as well as all Galactic

civilians he served.

He strongly believed in the Republic as the ultimate tool for peace and civilization,

and he went above and beyond to preserve it, even if it meant breaking the Jedi philosophy.

This was what ultimately brought him down when he decided to execute the seemingly defenseless

Palpatine, forcing Anakin to spring into action.

Windu was trained as a Jedi Guardian, meaning that he mostly focused on mastering the lightsaber.

He was a practitioner of the Seventh and final form of combat known as Juyo, or the Ferocity

Form, even though he trained himself in all the other forms as well.

This form required a great deal of concentration from its practitioners and was slowly restricted

by the Jedi Order, believing it to lead to the dark side.

Windu, however, came up with his own variant known as Vaapad, which channeled the rage

of his opponent and used it against them.

This is the reason why Windu was able to singlehandedly defeat Palpatine.

The Jedi Master was also able to make use of the Force power of Shatterpoint.

Rare and extremely hard to produce, this ability allowed the practitioner to see the weak points

in objects or people and attack them there.

2.

Yoda

"Try not.

Do, or do not.

There is no try."

– Yoda

Yoda was one of the most powerful and wise Jedi in galactic history.

But even though he was so renowned, not only in the Star Wars universe, but in this reality

as well, very little is known about his origins.

For starters, nobody knows what his species is, or from what planet he originates.

Many aren't even completely sure about his gender.

Nevertheless, the Grand Master of the Order was 900 years old when he died.

He also had a hand in training almost all of the Jedi that came after him; around 20,000

in total.

And even though he was the Order's most skilled Force user, he considered the education

of the other Jedi as a top priority.

Though old and needing a walking stick to get around, he was exceptionally nimble and

acrobatic when he was using the Force.

It was said that only Mace Windu, Count Dooku, and Senator Palpatine could face him in combat

on equal footing.

Yoda made use of Ataru as his preferred style of combat, because it made up for his small

stature.

He nevertheless was experienced in all but the last form of lightsaber dueling.

When he used the ability of Force Valor, he increased the physical capabilities of both

himself and his allies nearby.

Similarly, he made use of another Force skill known as Battle Meditation.

With it, Yoda was able to raise the morale of thousands of his troops and at the same

time lower it in his enemies.

He was an expert telekinetic, moving various objects with ease on numerous occasions.

He could control the minds of strong-willed individuals and even alter their memories.

Among numerous other Force abilities, Yoda also learned how to become a Force Ghost while

in exile after the Clone Wars.

1.

Luke Skywalker

"I am a Jedi, like my father before me."

– Luke Skywalker

Even though Luke's father, Anakin Skywalker, was the Chosen One, Luke actually lived up

to his full potential of becoming the best Jedi that ever existed.

The simple fact that he was able to singlehandedly defeat Darth Vader after only one year of

training under Yoda should say something about his abilities.

The only other Jedi to survive an encounter with Vader was Obi-Wan.

In his younger years, and only after just discovering the Force, he joined the Rebel

Alliance and would destroy the first Death Star.

After the downfall of the Empire, Luke would restore the Jedi Order and scour the galaxy

for the remaining Force-sensitive beings.

And even though he was impatient and somewhat reckless when he was younger, after his first

encounter with Vader he became more patient and seasoned.

He did, however, put several of his missions in jeopardy for the sake of saving someone

else's life.

With only sporadic guidance from Obi-Wan and Yoda, Luke learned much about the Force by

himself.

He was able to mirror Darth Vader in their last duel, learning almost instantaneously.

This feat utterly amazed the Emperor as he watched the duel commence before him.

In his future battles, he was said to move like a blur, even wielding two lightsabers

at once.

In a sense, he took up his father's mantle as the Chosen One, being blessed with a multitude

of Force abilities, some of which no other Jedi ever had, or even heard about.

His Force Push could bring down entire armies of soldiers and he could communicate with

all other Jedi at once throughout the entire galaxy.

He was even able to heal himself from serious wounds in mere hours.

All in all, Luke became a sort of Jedi demigod, and without a doubt, the most powerful Jedi

that ever existed.

The Trials and Tribulations of 1904 Olympic Marathon Runners - Duration: 10:59.

When the United States hosted the Olympics for the first time in 1904, the games had

yet to reach the high level of competition and popularity we know today.

Although athletes from countries around the world were invited to participate, the games

were less about the world's best athletes competing for medals and more about (actual)

amateur athletes competing against each other.

The ultimate decision to host the 1904 Olympic Games in St. Louis, Missouri, created a huge

obstacle for international athletes in that travel to the innermost parts of the States

was difficult and costly.

The only way to travel between continents was by a long and expensive ocean voyage,

after which the athletes needed to take about a 1,000-mile train trip.

As a result, many countries decided not to participate.

Out of the 630 athletes from 12 nations that competed that year, 523 were American, which

explains why the United States won so many medals that year (239, with the closest runner

up being Germany who won 13).

Perhaps one of the most surprising athletes to compete for his country was Félix de la

Caridad Carvajal y Soto, known as Andarín Carvajal or Felix Carvajal, from Cuba.

With no formal training and a running technique that left much to be desired, this mailman

raised his own money to travel to St. Louis to represent his country in the Olympic marathon

race.

Despite his work as a mailman, Felix lived his life in poverty and was denied financial

assistance from his local government to cover expenses he would incur on his journey to

the Olympics.

He spent days running around town square and begging people for money to help him on his

pursuit.

His efforts paid off, and he raised enough money for a trip to New Orleans, then promptly

lost his remaining funds on a game of dice…

Not to be deterred, he hitchhiked the remaining 650 or so miles to his destination.

Due to his jovial nature, he befriended the men on the American weightlifters team who

gave him room and board as he prepared for the marathon.

The 1904 marathon for the Olympics started around 3:00 pm in the afternoon in August,

with temperatures above 90 degrees.

Anyone who knows about summer weather in St. Louis knows that the oppressive heat and humidity

are not friends to anyone, certainly not to the 32 men representing four different countries

running a 24.85 mile marathon.

To make the situation worse, the only access runners had to water on the course was at

miles six and twelve.

For some, especially those who didn't have a support vehicle or support staff to aid

them, that made for a very long and torturous race.

Felix_CarvajalCarvajal showed up to the starting line wearing a long-sleeved shirt, pants,

and boots.

Considering other runners were in shorts and tank tops, we can only assume these were the

only clothes he had with him.

(Legendary athlete Jim Thorpe once did something similar at the Olympics, wearing different

sized shoes, neither of which fit him, that he'd scrounged out of a garbage bin shortly

before a race.)

As for Carvajal, seconds before the start of the race, an American discus thrower found

a pair of scissors and made a mock pair of shorts out of Carvajal's pants for more

athletic attire.

The start of the race required runners to complete five laps around the stadium before

heading off into St. Louis County.

The course was not shy on delivering obstacles for the athletes.

Through the streets of St. Louis, in order to stay on the course, runners had to dodge

cars, delivery wagons, railroad trains, trolley cars, and people walking their dogs.

In places, the roads were covered with cracked stone that the runners had to pick their way

through.

If all that wasn't enough, there was the seven 100-300 foot hills, noxious exhaust

fumes from the early automobiles (including support vehicles and others following the

runners along as they went), and the extreme amounts of dust kicked into the air by these

vehicles and horses.

marathon-mapoCar fumes and dust, coupled with the heat and humidity, soon took its toll

on the runners.

One of the first ones to drop out of the race was John Lordon of Massachusetts.

In 1903 Lordon won the Boston Marathon, but he only made it ten miles in this Olympic

marathon before he started vomiting and pulled out of the race.

The winner of the 1904 Boston Marathon, Michael Spring of New York, started out the Olympic

marathon strong, leading the pack, but when ascending of one of the steep hills, he collapsed

from exhaustion and couldn't continue.

William Garcia from San Francisco almost became the first death in the Olympic Games when

he was found lying unconscious in a ditch on the course and was raced to the hospital.

Fortunately, despite the extreme amount of dust he had inhaled doing a major number on

his esophagus and lungs, he eventually recovered and was able to race again.

len-taunyane-jan-mashianiAnother notable feature of this particular marathon was that it saw

the first two black Africans competing in the Olympics.

However, neither Len Taunyane nor Jan Mashiani were seasoned marathon runners, but both had

served as dispatch runners in the South African Boer War.

They were in town as part of the Boer War exhibit at the World's Fair and decided

to enter the race on a whim.

Both finished, placing ninth and twelfth respectively.

It was reported that Tau probably would've placed higher if he hadn't been chased over

a mile off the course by a wild dog.

American Frederick Lorz was a contender for one of the top spots early on in the race,

but he suffered from severe cramps and at nine miles was unable to continue.

He decided to hitch a ride in one of the cars back to the stadium, but the car broke down

before arriving at its destination.

Feeling refreshed, Lorz started running again.

When he entered the stadium three hours after the start of the race, the crowd erupted in

applause for the "winner."

Unable to resist the crowd, Lorz went along with the facade, racing toward the finish

line and basking in the limelight.

Perhaps he really was trying to take the credit for the win, or perhaps he was in it for the

fun and games like he later claimed.

Either way, when it was quickly noted by certain spectators that Lorz had been seen riding

in a car during the race, the officials saw no humor in his prank and banned Lorz for

life from participating in amateur races.

However, less than a year later, the ban was lifted after Lorz apologized for his stunt;

he went on to take first in the 1905 Boston marathon.

When another leading runner, Thomas Hicks from the United States learned of Lorz's

supposed win, he begged his two assistants to let him drop out because he was in so much

pain.

They refused to let him quit.

Like many other runners, Hicks's health took a plunge early in the race and continuously

declined as he ran.

For some bizarre reason, his handlers refused to give him water to drink during the race,

and instead sponged out his mouth using warm distilled water and then proceeded to feed

him egg whites and strychnine.

(Yes, strychnine.)

At the time, strychnine was used in small doses as a performance enhancing drug.

Anything but small doses would, of course, kill the athlete via asphyxiation due to paralysis

of the respiratory muscles.

However, in small doses, strychnine was believed to provide a performance boost via the muscle

spasms it relatively quickly induces.

Unfortunately for Hicks, besides refusing him water to drink, his handlers didn't

stop with one dose of the poison.

In total, during the race he was given approximately 2-3 mg of strychnine, plus accompanied raw

eggs and brandy each dose.

Unsurprisingly, with the extreme heat, humidity, dust clouds, dehydration, and being fed rat

poison, Hicks' condition continually grew worse and he ultimately became delusional.

Nevertheless, he continued to put one foot in front of the other and soldiered on.

Thomas-hicks-1904Entering the stadium for the last stretch of the race, Hicks required

physical assistance from his handlers who had to practically carry him over the finish

line.

Of course, this would result in a disqualification in today's Olympics, but in 1904 the act

was completely legal.

Hicks was unable to initially receive his gold medal given that he fell unconscious

at the finish line and it took doctors about an hour to revive him.

Close to death, fortunately, he eventually recovered, though retired from competing in

marathons.

With a time of 3:28:53, Hicks's feat is the slowest time for a men's Olympic marathon

in history.

The United States claimed the silver and bronze medals in the marathon as well when Albert

Corey crossed the finish line six minutes after Hicks, soon followed by Arthur Newton

with a time of 3:47:33.

Although both runners struggled with the heat and dust and slowed to a walk during certain

parts of the race, neither seemed to have it worse than Hicks.

Meanwhile, Felix Carvajal ran at a comfortable pace.

Unable to resist charming the spectators who lined up along the way, Felix often stopped

to chat with them in his broken English and crack jokes.

With his upbeat and good spirited attitude, he won the hearts of many along the course.

When he begged for peaches from the occupants of an accompanying car and was refused, he

teasingly snatched a couple from them anyway and kept on running, eating the peaches as

he ran.

Most accounts of the marathon say Carvajal needed a bit more sustenance, so he snuck

into an apple orchard and plucked two of the juicy fruits from the boughs.

Supposedly the apples didn't sit well with him and he suffered from cramps, which forced

him to rest and purportedly take a cat-nap before continuing the race.

However, it should be noted that there is no contemporary evidence that the apple/nap

part of this story ever took place, with the first account of it popping up in William

Henry's 1948, An Approved History of the Olympics.

Regardless, the contemporary accounts of Carvajal's approach to the race seem to describe an individual

having a blast, while many other racers struggled to overcome bodily limitations.

Felix Carvajal crossed the line in fourth place, though what his time was is unknown

today.

Compared to the other racers, he was described as seeming to float across the finish line.

Aside from probably being a bit tired and hungry, the heat and humidity didn't seem

to have too much of an effect on the Cuban.

While it's not known how far behind third place he was, accounts of the day indicate

if it wasn't for his numerous stops to chat with people during the race, Carvajal may

well have won.

Whatever the case, the 1904 Olympics ended up being the only international competitive

race Carvajal would compete in.

In the end, only 14 of the original 32 racers managed to finish the race.

hicks-goldAs for the victor, although the "assistance" Hicks received mostly proved

to be detrimental, he was able to finish the race thanks to being carried along near the

end- a fact that resulted in some feeling like he should have been disqualified.

After the race, a complaint towards this end was filed by Everett Brown, the chairman for

the Chicago Athletic Association.

However, the Olympic Games director refused to consider the matter and Hicks remained

the winner.

In the 1500s most Roman Catholic countries & Scotland adopted the Gregorian Calendar

(established by Pope Gregory XIII to compensate for the errors in time that had built up over

centuries) over the Julian Calendar (introduced by Julius Caesar in 45 BC).

A lot of protestant countries, however, ignored this new calendar for another 200 or so years.

England stuck to the Julian Calendar until 1751 before finally making the switch.

Orthodox countries took even longer to accept the change.

Russia, for one, did not convert to the Gregorian calendar until after the Russian Revolution

in 1917.

What does this have to do with the Olympics?

In 1908, the Russian Olympic team arrived 12 days late to the London Olympics because

of this.

Kriegsland [Wolfenstein: The New Order mod for Doom] - Duration: 10:01.

This is WolfenDOOM's The Original Missions Map 01.

These nazi douches are quick on the trigger and have great accuracy. You have to stay very

sharp not to be shot by the enemies here. Fortunately, our weapons are quite effective.

And the ability to dual wielding most of the arsenal is certainly the highlight of the mod.

You can wield two of the current weapon by pressing the altfire button.

Once on it, each fire button corresponds to a weapon.

The quick melee kick is handy, but it would be better if it could push the monster a bit.

This medicine gives armor bonuses. Maybe the doctor prescribed it to thicken Blazkowicz's skin.

I liked the enemies visuals too. And it is always gratifying to wipe out packs of socialists.

Using grenade with its own button is always useful. Another highlight are the death animations.

They are usually very cool and can vary, depending on the weapon used.

The barrels have no delay and explode instantly. This can cause issues in Map 23.

However, GAA1992 already promised to rectify this in the next Kriegsland's verison.

Since one of the great Kriegsland's highlights is it's arsenal, let's take a closer look a it.

I put their names big on the screen, as you can see near the HUD.

Many weapons have zoom, which is activated with the button that you set for such command.

By the way, this is Doom 2 Map 32, if someone asks.

Let's use this break and the pick-up sprites a bit more?

This energy ball that seeks you is painful. Thankfully, this monster have less

HP than the Cyberdemon. His name is Terminator, by the way.

I fucking liked this minigun that looks like shoots energy. It disintegrates the enemies.

The VFR-245 Puls-Kanone would be Kriegsland's BFG. I struggled to hit the Terminator with it.

This mod misses just some cool Wolfenstein games weapon sprites like the ones

Necronixis made from Doom 2016. This one's looks, for instance, I've seen in other mods like Russian Overkill.

But this is just a detail. Kriegsland features good gameplay, original elements,

is eye candy and is quite light considering all it offers. Success!

DeepMind's AI Learns Imagination-Based Planning | Two Minute Papers #178 - Duration: 4:22.

Dear Fellow Scholars, this is Two Minute Papers with Károly Zsolnai-Fehér.

A bit more than two years ago, the DeepMind guys implemented an algorithm that could play

Atari Breakout on a superhuman level by looking at the video feed that you see here.

And the news immediately took the world by storm.

This original paper is a bit more than 2 years old and has already been referenced in well

over a thousand other research papers.

That is one powerful paper!

This algorithm was based on a combination of a neural network and reinforcement learning.

The neural network was used to understand the video feed, and reinforcement learning

is there to come up with the appropriate actions.

This is the part that plays the game.

Reinforcement learning is very suitable for tasks where we are in a changing environment

and we need to choose an appropriate action based on our surroundings to maximize some

sort of score.

This score can be for instance, how far we've gotten in a labyrinth, or how many collisions

we have avoided with a helicopter, or any sort of score that reflects how well we're

currently doing.

And this algorithm works similarly to how an animal learns new things.

It observes the environment, tries different actions and sees if they worked well.

If yes, it will keep doing that, if not, well, let's try something else.

Pavlov's dog with the bell is an excellent example of that.

There are many existing works in this area and it performs remarkably well for a number

of problems and computer games, but only if the reward comes relatively quickly after

the action.

For instance, in Breakout, if we miss the ball, we lose a life immediately, but if we

hit it, we'll almost immediately break some bricks and increase our score.

This is more than suitable for a well-built reinforcement learner algorithm.

However, this earlier work didn't perform well on any other games that required long-term

planning.

If Pavlov gave his dog a treat for something that it did two days ago, the animal would

have no clue as to which action led to this tasty reward.

And this work's subject is a game where we control this green character and our goal

is to push the boxes onto the red dots.

This game is particularly difficult, not only for algorithms, but even humans, because of

two important reasons: one, it requires long-term planning, which, as we know, is a huge issue

for reinforcement learning algorithms.

Just because a box is next to a dot doesn't mean that it is the one that belongs there.

This is a particularly nasty property of the game.

And two, some mistakes we make are irreversible, for instance, pushing a box in a corner can

make it impossible to complete the level.

If we have an algorithm that tries a bunch of actions and sees if they stick, well, that's

not going to work here!

It is now hopefully easy to see that this is an obscenely difficult problem, and the

DeepMind guys just came up with Imagination-Augmented Agents as a solution for it.

So what is behind this really cool name?

The interesting part about this novel architecture is that it uses imagination, which is a routine

to cook up not only one action, re plans consisting of several steps, and finally, choose one

that has the greatest expected reward over the long term.

It takes information about the present and imagines possible futures, and chooses the

one with the most handsome reward.

And as you can see, this is only the first paper on this new architecture and it can

already solve a problem with seven boxes.

This is just unreal.

Absolutely amazing work.

And please note that this is a fairly general algorithm that can be used for a number of

different problems.

This particular game was just one way of demonstrating the attractive properties of this new technique.

The paper contains more results and is a great read, make sure to have a look.

However, less than a year later, the ban was lifted after Lorz apologized for his stunt;

he went on to take first in the 1905 Boston marathon.

In 1908, the Russian Olympic team arrived 12 days late to the London Olympics because

of this.

W. Kamau Bell Doesn't Want to Fit In - Duration: 2:47.

There has always been a question of like

I feel like I don't fit in, how do I fit in?

And at some level it's like.. don't try to fit in.

[Music]

So when I was a little kid,

like 6, 7, and 8 my favorite TV show was

the Incredible Hulk.

So I would watch the TV show

and I would sort of act it out.

When he would hulk out, I would hulk out

and when he would, like, freeze

and his eyes would go all big

I'd freeze my eyes and go all big.

I think I related to the Hulk because he was green.

Sure he started out as a white guy,

but when he became a superhero he became green

and so on some level I think I related to that

more because I felt like I can't be white.

But I can probably be green.

As I grew up,

I always felt like I wasn't into the right black stuff.

For some reason I was the only black kid I knew

who was into superheroes or I was the

only black kid I knew who was into martial arts.

When I turned 21, that's when I started to do comedy,

and this is around the time of

Def Jam really exploding on HBO.

Wassup!

Def Jam was heavily influenced by hip hop

and I was not influenced by that.

And so there was a sense that I felt like

when I stepped onstage as a black comedian

people kind of expected me to do some version of that.

And so for a long time, I was sort of battling

with my own comedy voice and also battling

with the audience. And so I took some time off,

which was hard because it had been the

thing I wanted since I was a kid.

Sometime in that month,

I stumbled across a Rolling Stone article

about a drag performer named Shirley Q Liquor

who was a white southern man who put on blackface

and fright wigs and colorful dresses.

The thing I was mad about was the article

sort of had the take of like- is this racist?

And for me the fact that Rolling Stone,

would sort of take the standpoint of like -

I don't know if this is racist or not -

just made me incensed and furious.

I started to look around the world

and I started to see all of these times where

I would see clear examples of racism.

And I was like, look it's all connected,

I think America is racist!

October of 2007, I did the first version of

the W. Kamau Bell Curve,

ending racism in about an hour,

where if you brought a friend of a different race

you got in 2 for 1.

From the first moment I stepped on stage

it felt like, 'oh this is the work I'm supposed to be doing.'

Years later when I get the TV show, Totally Biased,

The New Yorker said that my comedy was

'Intersectional Progressivism'

and I was like 'oh is that what this is?'

OK, thanks… [laughs]

The ultimate irony of this is

the kid who felt like the ultimate outsider

then is trying to connect all of the other outsiders.

So we can all feel like insiders on the outside..

Rob Markman "I Don't Wanna Wait" Official Lyrics & Meaning | Verified - Duration: 6:47.

Can we talk about how awkward this is?

I do 90% of these Verified interviews and for me to be sitting here?

It's awkward as hell.

I told Rook from J.U.S.T.I.C.E. LEAGUE a long time ago that I rapped.

He sent me the beat and trusted me enough to just kinda...

He held the beat for me. He didn't to send it to nobody else.

Though, I imagine if Nas or Rick Ross wanted it he would've gave it up.

So, I went at 13 years old. I got my own job at the comic book store.

It took me a whole year to save up.

So, that was big.

You had to be the first kid in school with the Jordans.

And it was a snowstorm that day.

It was like blizzard.

And so, I went to school with shopping bags on my feet.

As soon as I stepped in, I took the shopping bags off and I was the first one in the school with 'em.

This is my favorite rhyme that I've ever written.

I feel like Hov right now, a little bit.

"Thought Jordans and a gold chain was livin'" is a line from Nas' "Street Dreams."

Nas also went by the name God's Son.

God's Son is also Jesus Christ.

Jordan...

The black and red Air Jordan 11s are nicknamed the "Breds" so "Bred 11s" relates to the bread,

the body of Christ.

And Bordeaux 7s...

Bordeaux wine is a red wine that relates to the blood of Christ.

There was a guy who I used to hang out with, who was a little bit older than me and he

used to sell drugs.

When I asked him like, "Yo, put me on."

He was upset.

I thought he was gonna slap fire out of me, for just asking.

The idea, originally at first, was for me to sing the hook.

So I layed it down and it sounded horrible.

I was like, "There's no way anybody can hear this."

There was this rapper by the name of Tragedy Khadafi.

And Tragedy had a song called "Permanently Scarred."

He had some girl sing, "I don't wanna wait."

You know, it's the Paula Cole song.

And at the time it was the theme song for 'Dawson's Creek.'

I never watched 'Dawson's Creek,' I thought it was corny.

My girl watched it.

I would never watch 'Dawson's Creek' - it wasn't hip hop.

But here comes Tragedy and takes this grimy ass Queens, emotional song and then puts 'Dawson's

Creek' over it and I thought it was the most gangster thing.

I was like, "Yo this is amazing."

I was young.

I was a teenager when my brother got locked up.

I visited him one time when he was on Riker's Island.

And then when he eventually went up north to actual prison, I never went.

And I regret it.

I just left my house to go to the store.

It was about 9 o'clock at night and I got caught in the middle of a shootout.

I'm right in front of him and he just pulls out and just starts shooting and for a second,

I thought it was me.

You really see your life flash.

I was like, "Yo, it's over."

But he's not shooting at me, he's shooting past me.

So you could feel, just the heat.

And then there's somebody else, down the other block and it's literally like Monkey in the

Middle, if you used to play that game when you was a kid.

And I'm stuck in the middle and I just kind of ducked, hit the floor, rolled into the

street behind the car and ran the other way.

I was born and raised in Flatbush, Brooklyn.

You know, we saw some things that we probably shouldn't have saw.

We definitely saw gun violence.

We saw gang violence.

We saw drugs.

Scarface is this gangster rapper but if you listen to his album 'The Fix,' yo it's like a gospel album.

It's so...I can't describe it.

It's one of the greatest hip hop albums ever.

Clamato is tomato juice.

Imagine doing a vodka shot and chasing it with a clamato.

So the vodka and tomato juice is a bloody mary so "Hail Mary with my eyes closed."

So it's just a little bit of word play.

My ultimate dream is to contribute to hip hop in a positive way.

I want to be able to add on and inspire people in the way that I was inspired by guys like Scarface.

Hennessy is definitely my drink of choice.

You know you're seeing things.

You're seeing people, close to you, go to jail or die.

And nobody teaches you how to cope.

Unfortunately sometimes we run to alcohol.

You know, you get drunk you don't have to think about it too much.

None of us know, obviously if you grow up in the hood or grew up where I grew up,

a lot of people life just get cut short.

'Cause when it's too late, it's too late.

Is Trump Too Mentally Unstable To Solve The North Korea Issue? - Duration: 5:28.

Tensions between the US and North Korea seem to escalate this week, as North Korea revealed

that they have a nuclear warhead to put on a regular missile that they can say reach

the shores of the United States.

In response to this, Donald Trump while at his golf resort in New Jersey, issued the

following response to North Korea:

North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States.

They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen.

He has been very threatening, beyond a normal statement.

And as I said, they will be met with fire, fury, and frankly, power, the likes of which

this world has never seen before.

Thank you.

Donald Trump has absolutely no idea how to handle this specific situation, or really,

anything regarding US foreign policy and how to deal with potentially hostile countries

throughout the world.

And this statement, you're gonna be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen,

just further proves that.

But after he made that statement, and I guess he got a good night's sleep, woke up early

Wednesday morning, August 9th, and tweeted the following.

He said, "My first order as President was to renovate and modernize our nuclear arsenal.

It is now far stronger and more powerful than ever before.

Hopefully we will never have to use this power, but there will never be a time that we are

not the most powerful nation in the world."

Now, the significance of that date, August 9th, that Donald Trump tweeted this out after

escalation with North Korea is important.

Because on August 9th, 1945 the United States dropped the Fat Man atomic bomb on Nagasaki.

I don't feel like it's any kind of real coincidence that Donald Trump would end up bragging about

the modernization and strength of the US nuclear arsenal on that specific day.

Not for nothing, it's also the anniversary of the day that Richard Nixon resigned from

the office of the presidency.

Nonetheless, there are several problems with Donald Trump's statement.

First of all, it's an absolute lie.

Barack Obama who put into action the plan to modernize and update the US's nuclear arsenal.

Second of all, it was not Donald Trump's first order of business, again, Obama did that.

Trump's first order of business was some kind of executive order regarding healthcare.

And third, it's not even close to being done.

According to all experts, it's going to take decades before we actually modernize and renovate

and update the US's nuclear arsenal.

But to go out there and act like we're some big bad superpower and nobody's ever gonna

be better than us, bigger than us, or stronger than us, shows how weak we are.

If you feel the need to go out and constantly remind everybody how strong you are, then

you're not really a strong person or a strong country.

A strong country doesn't have to say anything, because people understand it.

Kim Jong-un over in North Korea understands that Donald Trump has made the United States

weaker.

He is not threatened or intimidated by Donald Trump.

In fact, it appears that he enjoys playing games with him, because military experts and

other world leaders are saying that Kim Jong-un was simply trolling Donald Trump, and Trump

fell for it, hook line and sinker.

When Kim Jong-un said that they were thinking about possibly launching a missile, one of

these nuclear missiles, I guess, over to Guam, which is a United States territory, the leader

of Guam said we're not worried about this at all.

Earlier yesterday morning, August 8th, Trump's own top military advisers told him North Korea's

really not a threat at all to the United States.

Yet, Donald Trump couldn't stop himself from responding to this madman overseas and trying

to act even crazier than he is.

Donald Trump desperately wants to launch a nuclear attack against somebody and that much

is becoming obvious.

His words are very clear.

He is trying to show the world that yeah, we've got nukes and we aren't afraid to use

them.

And if he orders that launch, if he orders that strike, which would have to have the

approval of Congress, by the way, there are going to be ramifications for the United States,

not just from North Korea but the rest of the world.

If we launch another nuclear strike against another country, like we did 72 years ago

today, it's not gonna end well for

the United States.

How To Revive Faded And Stained Paint! - Chemical Guys Car Care - Duration: 6:35.

What's up guys welcome back to the Detail Garage, we're glad you could join us.

We've still got this Honda Civic in the shop and as you can see we are going to be doing

a 50/50 comparison between the clean, clayed and polished side against the dirty, not clayed

and non polished side.

There is tons of grime and debris.

As we washed it we noticed the paint was kinda dead, it has a lot of swirls.

Although it hides a lot it still has the same texture paint as any other color so it

is not like it defends against scratches and swirls any better it is only hiding them.

So we're going to show you how to remove them to revive the paintwork.

Over here I have a TORQ 22D set up with an Orange Hex-Logic Pad and I'll be using VSS.

This is going to take down a very fine layer of the clear coat to reveal fresh paint.

Using an Orange Pad is going to break down the VSS so we can work the abrasives into

a finishing polish.

To start off shake up the bottle and then apply five dime sized drops to the pad.

Lets start on a small section on the hood to control the area that we are working on

this way we get the best shine and the best results.

After applying five dime size drops to the pad I'm going to spray Pad Conditioner to

lubricate the pad and the compound so neither go dry which can lead to marring.

This will lubricate it to reduce friction and give us the perfect shine.

Before we start polishing I want to mention that in our previous video we washed and clayed

this half of the car, so now it is super slick.

All the impurities have been pulled out of the paint this way it doesn't create pig tails

or micro swirls as we polish.

As you can see I've already taped off half of the car to show you the difference and

the plastic and rubber areas to prevent staining.

I'll blotch it out and now on the lowest speed setting I'll spread this in the section I'll

be working and when we are ready to polish I can bump it up to the highest speed setting.

Once your polish has gone clear that is when you know it is time to buff it off.

Lets take a clean microfiber towel and wipe away the excess.

So with this clean microfiber towel I'll take away the excess.

Buffing in straight lines to prevent installing swirls in our freshly polished paint.

A majority of the imperfections have been removed to reveal a fresh paint job.

Now we are going to repeat this process to the rest of the vehicle and then we need to

seal it because now that we've polished it we've opened up all the pores of the paint

which takes no time for contamination to clog and dull out the finish.

As you guys can tell this paint looks amazing.

A total transformation from how it looked earlier.

By polishing we have removed oxidation and damaged paint to showcase that fresh white

paint.

Now we are going to seal it using JetSeal.

This is going to protect the paint for up to 12 months against harsh elements, UV rays

and anything that can harm the clear coat.

I'll be using the 22D again with a Black Finishing Pad.

The soft pad spreads a fine coat which buffs off easy and uses less product.

Again, shake the bottle and apply five dots to the pad.

So again blotch it out and on the lowest speed setting we'll spread this out.

JetSeal only takes about twenty minutes to cure to the surface so after giving it a sufficient

amount of time to bond I'll take a Black Happy Ending Towel and start buffing it off.

The thin layer is hard to see on white paint but it comes off super easy.

What you are looking for is a slight haze but that fine coat uses less product which

saves time and money.

So, if you guys want to check these products out go to our website ChemicalGuys.com.

If you like this car or this video be sure to give it a thumbs up and we'll see you guys

next time right here in the Detail Garage.

Helen talks about the benefits of Clearing - Duration: 0:45.

Hi I'm Helen, I'm currently studying a foundation year in Community in Social Care

and in September I'm progressing on to study Social Pedagogy Advocacy and Participation.

I came to UCLan through clearing because unfortunately I missed the grades

I needed on A-Level Results Day, but thankfully I did have

a backup option which was to study a foundation year in the same course.

If things don't go to plan on Results Day definitely don't panic, because there's

plenty of options for you and you can definitely get to where you want to be.

My favourite part about studying at UCLan would be the

amazing people that I've met while I've been here. I've also learned so much

about myself throughout the past year

VisionSpring | Jordan Kassalow | Skoll Awardee - Duration: 3:31.

Not everyone can point to a moment in time that transformed their lives,

but I had such a moment.

I was a young student studying to be an eye doctor

and I joined an organization that brought eye care to underserved populations in Latin America.

And my very first patient was a seven year old boy.

He was from the school for the blind.

And when we looked at his eyes we realized he wasn't blind at all.

All he needed was a really strong pair of eye glasses.

And I was a lucky person who got to put those glasses on that boy's face.

And when he saw for the first time, this beautiful smile erupted in his face.

I gave him his vision and he gave me my purpose.

Vision is so central to human life.

And it enables us to connect to other people.

It enables us to be productive and economically viable.

It enables us to appreciate the physical

world that we live in.

The fact of the matter is that 95 percent of the people in the world

who need glasses don't have access to affordable glasses.

Two-thirds of the people in the world to need eyeglasses

just need the simple ones that you or I could buy at the supermarket.

And we can train women, men, mostly women

who even have a fourth grade education on how to

provide those glasses in a way that adds income to their family.

"Vision Entrepreneurs" are instrumental to raising the awareness of

people in their communities. They go door to door. They hold eye camps where they

educate people about the need for better vision.

So they act almost like as a triage point, taking care of the simplest problems right

there at the village level. And then identifying people who need more advanced care

and sending them into our system.

We recognize that with 700-million people who need glasses,

charity won't go far enough.

Unless we can get market forces to work, we're not going to make a big enough dent in the overall problem.

So that's why our model is sustainable and scalable

because we source glasses as low as we can in terms of price points.

And we provide them to people at just a little bit more money.

And the good news is because glasses can

be sourced so affordably, we're able to provide people with high quality glasses

at a price point that they can afford even if they're only making between one

and four dollars a day.

That's possible these days.

The world I'm trying to create is a world where no child falls out of school

because he or she can't see.

A world where no worker falls out of the workplace

because he or she can't see.

A world where vision is no longer a

barrier to personal and economic development.

Sword Art Online Continues!! SAO Ordinal Scale Sequel - Kirito & Yuna Story - SAO Season 3 Soon? - Duration: 2:20.

Are you ready for some more SAO?

What's up guys!

Foxen here.

Today you're getting some news about SAO Ordinal Scale.

Sorry but you're still going to have to wait for the season 3 release date.

The bluray release for the Ordinal Scale movie is coming up, that's next month!

The SAO news today is that a bonus story has been announced for the bluray release.

A new bonus ordinal scale story.

The new novel is titled SAO Cordial Code.

Of course this story is going to be written by the SAO author Reki.

As for what this is about.

The sequel story is set 8 days after the Ordinal Scale movie.

After such a short time Kirito decides to retire from the Ordinal Scale game.

One day he receive a message from Yuna for her desktop mascot app.

Kirito installs it and Yuna appears.

She tells him, "Kirito Help me!".

So what the hell is going on?

Is Kirito getting pushed back into another augmented reality adventure?

After hearing this Kirito goes off to see a certain man to find out the truth.

So there you have it!

Could this simply be another fun little side story?

Or could it be leading up to the events of SAO Season 3?

Here's a minor spoiler for the end credit scene for the movie.

The post credit scene does set up season 3.

So, could this story be part of that?

It'll just be interesting if they decide to keep Yuna around.

Not that it is surprising since they've been including her in all the different SAO games.

Btw an extra bonus for the bluray involves Silica and Asuna.

Both of them sing a particular song from the movie, you'll know which one!

Anyway if you are interesting you can find the Amazon link in the description.

Pre-orders are up!

If you've been around a while you know that I'm not personally a fan of physical media

but this is temping alot!

It might push me enough to buy it.

And yeah it'll be this, it's not that special Asuna bath scene.

Anyway fun SAO question of the day for you, which SAO character was your favorite from

the Ordinal Scale movie?

There's quite a bit to choose from.

A actually had a friend that was disappoint at a lack of a particular character.

Please be sure to give this a thumbs up and subscribe!

Especially if you enjoy these SAO news videos.

By the way, I do plan to do a facts video on the SAO Ordinal Scale movie, soon or later,

so look forward to that and cya guys later!
