How To Climb On An E Mountain Bike | E-MTB Climbing - Duration: 5:59.- E mountain biking for a lot of people
is associated with jamming it in boost mode,
cutting loose and not feeling guilty, right?
It's about kind of stop struggling and just start living.
How has he done that?
- Yeah, I've definitely been guilty of just sticking
it in the highest level of power assist and just
bombing up the hills.
But, I think I should learn to back it off a little bit
on those sort of traily, up and down flowing climbs.
But today, we're up on a hillside, we're going to
challenge ourselves to ride some pretty hard climbs
and I think I will need that boost.
Yeah, hey.
- When you get a serious hill climbing, you're not
going to be in the lower power settings,
you're going to have to have that assist.
And ultimately it doesn't get any easier,
you just kind of get there a bit quicker.
- So climbing is still about those skills.
We're trying to weight the front on the rear tire.
The rear one to get some drive on it and stop it from
spinning up but also get some weight on that front tire
to stop it from lifting off the floor,
which it definitely can do.
In this case I've got a gravelly climb
so, I still need all that momentum, just like a normal bike.
If I stop on this, I'm never going to get going again.
And don't forget I'm riding a 180 mm travel bike here.
I definitely wouldn't be pedaling one of those up here
if it wasn't an E bike.
- Body position is going to depend on the gradient
and the ground conditions.
On mellow slopes, you can adopt a neutral position.
When the ground starts changing, getting steeper
you need to be continually shifting your weight
to make the traction with the rear wheel.
Get up there!
- Line choice when climbing is still really important,
just like a normal bike.
We're trying to stick in that power
and get that cadence right. It's really important
because if you hit your pedals
or have to stop pedaling for a second, you might
lose traction when you get going again.
Up hill flow is something you're really going to have to
learn when riding an E bike.
A consistent cadence through the pedals is also
going to be really important for grip,
just like a normal bike.
But it's worth noting that every different motor
will have slightly different cadence to get the
best out of it.
For example, with this Specialized, quite a quick cadence
will give you the best power from the motor.
- Tires are a really important aspect of E biking.
After all it's pointless having power without grip.
There's not really any place for slick tires
on an E mountain bike, particularly if you're going
to be taking on some serious hill climb challenges.
You're rear tire in particular should have
a significant tread pattern to it.
And in terms of pressures, you could be looking at
anything from 4 PSI to 20 on a good hill climb.
- Go on Don there's a challenge for ya.
Get up that bank there.
- But you're the man with the trial skills.
- You're the man with the skills, full-stop,
so get on with it.
- Alright.
Cor blimey.
Oh my God.
That's really hard.
- Its not a bad attempt.
He got three meters that time instead of one meter.
So, what time is dinner tonight?
You got it, you got it.
Keep going, keep going.
- Oh my God.
You win.
- Okay, so in this part of the climb,
it's all about momentum.
Smooth cadence, central body position.
You're coming up to the brow, we have to switch again.
You're looking ahead, wow loose gravel.
That means more momentum and back on the pedals.
Don, when it comes to E mountain bikes and hill climbing
I think if we summarize the points, it's
point one, I think is body position.
You're going to be continually shifting your weight
on the bike to maintain traction on the rear tire
and to stop that front end from getting into the air.
Secondly, tires and tire pressure.
We've seen so many times, it's pointless having power
without any grip.
- Yeah, I've got loads of grip, big tire on the back.
I've never been so close to looping out on
a mountain bike on a climb.
Obviously I've got a lot of power, I've got some
slack angles on this bike, great for going down hill.
It's a 180 mm travel bike, but it does go uphill
very well as well.
- Yeah, you didn't go uphill very well down there.
- It didn't, not quite as well as yours.
You've got less travel.
- And what have we got?
I think, it comes down to maybe ground conditions.
Here in Alicante, it's a mixture of gravel and outcrop.
Obviously back in Wales and Shropshire
it's way different right?
- Yeah.
What about lock outs?
I've not touched one yet. Would you recommend
using one on a climb?
- Yeah. Do you know what?
Maybe if you charged up a fire road.
but why would you be charging up a fire road on an E bike?
That's the whole point of E bikes, is you're taking
on all these different technical challenges right?
- Absolutely.
- And when you're in the technical place,
the fourth point I think is, line choice
and just making a plan.
- Yeah, a bit of momentum definitely helps
with a good line choice.
- Just some of the key points then when it comes
to climbing on an E mountain bike.
Tires, tire pressure.
Body position.
Cadence.
Line choice.
But ultimately, it's you the rider that decides
the intensity of the ride, not the motor.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears | Educational - Duration: 1:04:20.Baby Joy Joy!
Baby Joy Joy!
There once was a girl
with long, golden hair
who went for a stroll
to get some fresh air.
She skipped and she whistled,
enjoying the sun,
picking flowers
and having such fun.
The rain started pouring,
the sky filled with thunder.
She searched for a place
where she could take cover.
And that's when she saw it:
a cottage nearby!
A place she could go
to stay warm and dry.
Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh.
She entered and called,
"Is anyone home?"
But the cottage was empty,
for she was alone.
She noticed the chairs
near the fire so cozy.
Large, medium, small.
and because she was nosey
she sat in a chair
and without much regard
she determined the largest
chair was too hard.
But the medium chair
was too soft for her liking.
The small one, however,
much more satisfying.
Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh.
She said to herself,
"Wow! This chair is just right!
Whoever sits here
must be just my same height!"
Alas, the small chair
was a bit too unsturdy.
It shattered to pieces,
at least 20 or 30.
She heard a large rumble
come from her tummy.
This adventure had left
poor Goldilocks hungry.
Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh.
That's when she noticed
three bowls on the table,
complete with three spoons.
And so she was able
to taste these bowls of porridge
The large was too hot.
But the medium bowl
was too cold, Goldie thought.
She tried the small bowl
and it was just right.
She ate the whole thing,
every last bite!
Then suddenly Goldie
was feeling quite tired.
A soft place to sleep
is what she required.
Finding three beds nearby,
small, medium, large,
she thought a good nap
would help her recharge.
So she climbed in the big bed.
Too big and too lumpy.
The medium bed
was too hard and uncomfy.
But the little bed seemed
to feel just right.
and as her eyes closed,
she whispered, "Good night!"
But she didn't know
those beds, bowls, and chairs
belonged to a family of three:
the Three Bears!
The bears had come home
and to their dismay
their home had been left
in such disarray.
"Someone sat in my chair!",
Daddy Bear said,
"And tasted my porridge,
and slept in my bed!"
Mommy Bear said,
Someone sat in mine, too!
My porridge and bed
had been touched just like you!"
But to poor Baby Bear
the most damage was done.
His chair had been broken.
His porridge was gone!
He cried out with a tear,
"This just isn't fair!"
Then he checked his small bed
and someone was there!
Tucked under the covers,
not making a peep,
was a beautiful golden haired
girl, fast asleep.
She dreamed to herself,
"Oh, this dream is just right!
I could sleep here forever,
or at least for tonight."
Goldie sleepily opened
her eyes and she saw
three bears with big teeth!
Three bears with big claws!
She screamed and she leapt
from the bed to the floor,
ran past the bears,
and out the front door.
Daddy Bear growled,
"This should teach her a lesson!
Golden haired girls
are a delicatessen."
So the moral
if it's not your bowl, bed, or chair,
please don't touch it,
it might just belong
to a bear!
Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh.
Baby Joy Joy!

pt 3: Can a "Bad" mic be EQed to sound "Good"? - Sound Speeds - Duration: 12:49.sound speeds and welcome to part three of can you EQ a bad mic to sound good now
part three is gonna live just about entirely on this screen of my computer
now if you watch the previous videos and if you haven't I strongly recommend
you catching up first I talked about the equalization of the microphones being
done in Audacity and the reason why is because the idea is that if you have a
cheap seventeen dollar microphone like this Neewer NW-700 then you probably
don't have much of a budget if you're gonna try to make this work for you
so knowing that a free program like audacity should be what we try to use to
pull one over on people and see if we can't actually make it sound like a
higher-quality microphone than it really is
so let's jump over to the computer and see what exactly I did okay before we
really get going here I wanted to show you that I did - voiceover passes with
this door microphone as you're currently listening to it right now you're seeing
that it matches the video and therefore you can tell that this is actually the
audio that we're using we're gonna pick one of these in a second and we're gonna
modify it now also by default all Gasset e loads
up into this weird linear mode which is you as you can look at the screen you
can see where it goes from zero point zero to one point o and negative one
point O this doesn't really do us a whole lot of good we would rather drop
down the list and go to decibels the difference basically is this is linear
this is logarithmic and basically logarithmic what you'd rather use
because decibels are logarithmic in a nutshell what that basically means is
that but you're gonna see that the audio levels totally change and that's because
the difference between negative 60 and negative 50 decibels is totally
different reality than negative 10 - zero decibels so if you notice now I'm
actually widening out the waveform that way when it turned into spectrogram mode
you can see a greater detail of the graphic representation of the sound now
if you look here it starts at 0 K Hertz goes up to 24 k Hertz now most vocal
frequencies are gonna be around here up through this whole area so this is where
my voice basically comes into play anything that's above that is basically
you know still my voice but that's probably overtones and undertones or
what all these would be and if you're not
familiar with those our link down in the description ok so let's look at this gap
between the two voiceovers I'm doing vice ok so this is where the voiceover
finishes and these little sounds right there or maybe me breathing maybe a
little background noise or something like that but right there where that
blue is peeking up from right here to right there in between that is about the
quietest it's gonna get that's the noise floor that noise for if you're not
familiar watch this video up here and I'll go ahead and give you a bit of
knowledge on that basically a noise floor is the lowest volume the room
environment that you're shooting in can possibly be anything lower is obviously
not going to be possible because this is your noise floor that is the very bottom
level your sound could ever be no quieter now if you notice my noise floor
is actually incredibly quiet and you can't even hear the background noise in
this room underneath the voiceover the entire voiceover covers it up completely
you'll never hear those frequencies to remove your background noise altogether
in audacity it's extremely easy to do you simply highlight your noise floor go
up to effect and then noise reduction step one get in a ways profile click
that button from there you want to highlight your entire document with a
double click hit effect go to noise reduction again and then under step 2
these are your settings double check that it may says reduce and then hit OK
from there watch this background noise completely go away now if you look at
both sides of my voice over here you'll notice that there is no noise in the
background the noise floor has completely been removed but I didn't do
that in the voiceover processing I did so I'm going to undo that noise
reduction what I did do though is I zoomed in and I highlighted from the
very start of the edge of that voiceover and I removed everything from there I
went to effect I went down to where is it generate silence that was it and then
I hit OK and that basically blocks the whole thing out that is completely dead
quiet now and then I'll did the same thing at the end so by now we've already
started to process our first voice over so we're gonna go ahead and hit delete
on that highlighted second voice over and we're going to get rid of it now if
I want to come over here and basically silence this I'm gonna generate silence
hit play okay let's listen to that ice I heard a
pop right there I'm not happy with that I'm gonna hit undo that silence right
there let's zoom in a little bit more and I'm gonna highlight up to let's see
if I take that little bit out there is that the pop we heard before generate
silence and okay let's back up this thing just a little bit and listen to it
sound advice I did not hear a pop and it sounds dead quiet after that this
waveform drops down and instantly that's where the noise four would normally pick
back up but it's not there so we don't need to worry about this anymore and
that would be one of the reasons why Mike Delgado said he did not hear that
gate opening or closing it's because there wasn't one it's simply it's dead
silence at the beginning and end of the voiceover oh look at that I didn't even
do the beginning of this I'm gonna do this again in the waveform mode and
you're gonna see generate - silence it's going to completely quiet this entire
thing I didn't even go all the way up to the end there we'll do it one more time
to completely quiet this thing out and now
have a question you'd like answered or want to add something be sure to write
it in the comment section down below okay now we're ready to take this to the
next step equalization because I'm sure inquiring
minds are going to want to know these are the frequency response patterns for
each of the microphones we tested and did a voiceover for every single one of
these was taken from the documentation that I could find online well except the
numeron w 700 for this I actually had to take a picture of the pamphlet that came
with the microphone and photoshopped it so it looked like it would belong with
the rest of them now I do want to point out that the shure sm7b i ran in
completely flat mode which is just this black line right there I did not use the
roll-off I did not use the high shelf on the C 4000 B I ran it in cardioid mode
which is why that's there and of course the cat can't equity 100 I did not use
the roll-off on that as a matter of fact I did no Roelofs on any of these
microphones okay before we do anything let's I should listen to what we're
dealing with here have a question you'd like answered or want to add something
be sure to write it in the comment section down below or if you'd like to
make a suggestion for a future topic of discussion again comment section down
below or you can send me an email at sound speeds at yahoo.com be sure to
subscribe and turn on notifications so you don't miss out on future sound
advice okay so that's what we're dealing with here now let's go to effect
equalization and start playing by default it's set to flatten now if I if
I were to guess I would say this thing is probably in major need of some low
end however what I'm going to do first before I do anything else is I'm gonna
create a roll-off and that's basically gonna be from about right here at 80
decibels I'm sorry it's gonna be right here from about 80 Hertz down to 20
Hertz and anything from there is gonna basically be rolled off you see my
little green curve right there is basically from where I'm kind of
grabbing and pulling from so what I'm gonna do initially here is I'm going to
create some false low end by going up a little bit higher I'm gonna give it
about 6 dB so around 80 Hertz is gonna be about there and then imma slowly
start ramping it off around 100 and we'll see if going down to maybe flat
around 200 Hertz if that gives me anything let's listen have a question
you'd like answered or want to something be sure to write it in the
comment section down below okay so it's thrown aside we're starting to get a
little someplace let's go ahead and do this and see what happens there have a
question you'd like answered or want to add something be sure okay it's slowly
starting to get there I'm not exactly happy with the way it's starting to
sound but I'm gonna play with it a little bit more and see what we can come
up with have a question you'd like answered or
want to add something be sure to write it in the comment section down below
okay so it's starting to kind of shape itself out a little bit we're gonna play
a little bit more
have a question you'd like answered or want to add something be sure to write
it in a comment section down below and then I just kept working my way on the
frequencies until I came up with this right here this is the actual
equalization processing that I applied to the NW 700 to try to pull one over on
you and Mike delgadio notice I actually added a little bit of low in there and
then it kind of went flat for a bit and then around the 2k mark I started to go
up a little bit for a high shelf and that's because I wanted to kind of
create a little bit of a crispness boost right up in there I guess you could
almost say it was a presence boost when I hit about this point but for the
low-end most the cheaper microphones do not
represent the low-end very well even though it says it's acoustically flat on
the frequency response chart and so I wanted to actually add some to try to
fatten it up a little bit as a matter of fact this is the actual processing I did
to each of the microphones you heard this is the shure sm7b you notice it's
relatively flat but I did end up going up and down just a little bit
only a decibel or two in a couple of the frequency ranges just to try to even it
out a little bit and then of course I added a lot of brightness at the end now
the newer NW 700 we've already seen the cat equity 100 was basically flat for
the most part I did add some low end and of course I added some high end there
for presence boost as for the 8 KGC 1000 B you saw even on Mike's Delgado's face
the low end on that microphone when I got it all the way up on it the
proximity effect kind of wiped it out so I actually had to remove quite a bit of
low end but then it started to suffer a little bit because of that low end
around the mids and highs so I ended up adding quite a bit of that back in so
for our demonstration here I basically recreated the equalization curve that I
applied to my voice over before now let's hit preview and see how well I did
duplicating I have a question you'd like answered or want to add something be
sure to write it in the comment section down below sounds about like it did
before to me so I'm gonna hit OK now get this that's all the processing I did
before so let's listen to it in its completion have a question you'd like
answered or want to add something be sure to write it in the comment section
down below or if you'd like to make a suggestion for a future topic of
discussion again comment section down below or you can send me an email at
sound speeds at Yahoo komm be sure to subscribe and turn on
notifications so you don't miss out on future sound advice no I did not
equalize it any further believe it or not I did not normalize it nor did I use
a compressor on this file all I did was those two steps I quieted the beginning
and end and then I simply eq'd it that's it so there you have it it kept it very
simple because I was talking so close to the microphone I just had to mute the
beginning and end of the audio track and then you wouldn't hear any background
noise and then I simply equalized it until you no longer heard any of the
defining characteristics of each microphone and they all scented more or
less the same from there i normalized it up to 0 DB and save the audio clips I
typically limit the audio processing that I do in my videos here on sound
space to 5 different components number one is I remove all the background noise
number two is I add a gate just in case something stinks through number three is
I equalize the low end of my voice just a little bit because as we know I don't
have much low end number four is I compress it number five is a normalize
it from there I put it into my video editing program and run wild thank you
for staying with us for all three parts of this video where we eq'd a bad mic to
sound more presentable notice I didn't say to sound like a good mic because
it's simply that more presentable so in the future wait a second stop right
there let's actually go back over to the computer for a second that's right I'm
not quite done with you yet because if you notice in front of me is this newer
NW 700 microphone that's right the cheap seventeen dollar microphone is the
microphone I've been using for the voiceovers I've done this entire video
did I fool you because this time I did the exact same processing I just walked
you through except I changed up the equalization just a little bit because
I'm not trying to trick you anymore I did a best-effort equalization to see if
I could pull one over on you did it work tell me in the comment
section down below if I fooled you now we can resume the closing of this video
if you have any questions or comments be sure to write them in the comment
section down below I will look at them regardless thanks for tuning in to this
episode of sound speeds and be sure to tune in to the future where we're gonna
have more fun and sound advice have a question you'd like answered or want to

"It's Necessary That You Make It Happen, That You Don't Give Up!" - Study Motivation - Duration: 10:07.so I went to the next floor necessary to stop talking to people and seeking and
asking for what I wanted and leveraging relationships and trying to find out how
do the people do it that went ahead of me how do they do it and then what is it
I need to do how is it I need to train myself to develop myself
what's the resources that will be required in order to make it happen and
as I start seeking out and asking questions I started running into people
said I know someone who can help you do that and they helped me get connected
with those people remember we have so much energy that can take us so far it's
necessary that you hook up with some other energy that can take you to the
next level I hooked up with him he said Les let's go I said away we go
and guess what here we are
you want your stuff it's necessary you take responsibility for it now you make
it happen that you don't give up that you don't take any objection or
disappointment or defeats personally that you keep on keeping on that you
don't decide that I can't make it because you can't see the light at the
end of the tunnel that you realize that the part of the program and here's
something you've got to resolve say this to yourself every day
so as long as you breathing you got a shot at your dream that's the way I
resolve say this please it's not over until I win you've got
that right
not over till I win not over till I get through it's not over tlil I get over not
over till I get what I want don't can't open a gate to look out I'm gonna come
back and take the hinges off that's how you got to do that you've got to have
that kind of courage that type of determination if you want to make it
happen it's you that you've got to take personal responsibility to make it
happen one of the main reasons that people do get what they want is because
they don't actually figure out what it is and the probability that you're going
to get what would be good for you let's say which would even be better than what
you want right because you know you might be what wrong about what you want
easily but maybe you could get what would really be good for you well why
don't you well because you don't try you don't think okay here's what I would
like if I could have it and and I don't mean I don't mean in a way that you
manipulate the world to force it to deliver you goods for status or
something like that that isn't what I mean I mean something like imagine that
you were taking care of yourself like you were someone you actually cared for
and then you thought okay I'm caring for this person I would like things to go as
well for them as possible what would their life have to be like in
order for that to be the case well people don't do that they don't sit down
and think all right you know let's let's figure it out you've got a life it's
hard obviously it's like three years from now you can have what you need
you've got to be careful about it you can't have everything
you can have what would be good for you but you have to figure out what it is
and then you have to aim at it well my experience with people as being is if
they figure out what it is that would be good for them and then they aim at it
then they get it and it's strange because they don't necessarily an idea
about what would be good for you and then you take ten steps towards that and
you find out that your formulation was a bit off and so you have to reformulate
your goal you know you're kind of going like this as you move towards the goal
but a huge part of the reason that people fail is because they don't ever
the criteria for success and so since success is a very narrow line and very
unlikely the probability that you're going to stumble on it randomly is zero
and so there's a proposition here in the proposition is if you actually want
something you can have it now the question then would be well what do you
mean by actually want and the answer is that you reorient your life in every
possible way to make the probability that that will occur as certain as
possible and that's a sacrificial idea right it's like you don't get everything
obviously you obviously but maybe you can have what you need and maybe all you
have to do to get it is ask but asking isn't a whim or today's wish it's like
you have to be deadly serious about it you have to think okay like I'm taking
stock of myself and if I was going to live properly in the world and I was
going to set myself up such that being would justify itself in my estimation
and I don't mean as a harsh judge exactly what is it that I would aim at
sit on your bed one day and ask yourself what's what remarkably stupid things am
i doing on a regular basis to absolutely screw up my life and if you actually
asked that question but you have to want to know the answer right because that's
actually what asking the question means it doesn't mean just mouthing the words
it means you have to decide that you want to know you'll figure that's out so
fast it'll make your hair curl fulfillment is an art what's going to
fulfill you is differently at first and actually you're not gonna learn that
from anybody else you got to find it because success without fulfillment is
the ultimate failure and I get those phone calls all the time for the multi
billionaire entrepreneur or politician or business person or a person just won
their Academy Award and they're depressed and they can't tell anybody
because they got all their goals but they're not fulfilled because they
really don't have that sense of meaning in their life they went for something
and they got it they achieved and if you doubt this one I'm saying is relevant to
you or us or anyone just think about about a
year and what a month ago we lost what I consider be a national treasure Robin
Williams how many of you loved Robin waves look around they don't keep the
hands of look and most of you didn't know him almost anywhere you go in the
world people love Robin wings by the way was he great at achievement oh my god
that guy he said you want to make become a great comedian he did that I want to
make the world laugh he did I want to make my own TV show he did I wanted the
number one TV show he did it I want to make movies he did I want an Academy
Award for not being funny not his skill set drama and he did it I want a
beautiful family he did it and then he hung himself make everybody happy but
yourself not a good plan so if I had a gift to give you it would be maybe make
a different decision and a decision is that no matter what happens in your life
you're gonna live in a beautiful state a beautiful state and that could be happy
that could be grateful that could be being generous those are all beautiful
states aren't they it could be curious it could be fun it could be playful
you're not limited to one state but it's different than suffering and most people
suffering and all suffering I've ever seen I traveled a hundred countries I've
dealt with presence of countries and you know presidents of businesses CEOs I've
dealt with people in prison I got with you name average people suffering always
comes because you've obsessed about something related to you you can only be
depressed if you're focusing on yourself so now I'm depressed cuz my kids and and
they're not doing well no you're depressed cuz you feel you've failed
your kids it's about you it's about how you think you what you should have done
or shouldn't have done or what someone did to you or didn't do to you in the
past or the future which don't even exist so I have a simple goal my goal is
help people make a decision that says I don't know what's gonna happen you might
get a divorce even though you don't think so you might
find a family of your family with cancer you might have your house get burned
down or have a tornado go by and if you live in the same place that happens
every two years and you move back we should talk but
some people seem to do that for some reason you can't control those things I
can't control those things I don't want those to happen to you or anybody I love
or anybody who's even a stranger to me but they're going to happen true not
positive thinking both just the truth so if that's gonna happen I say make a
decision now that says I'm gonna live in a beautiful state and I'm gonna find
beauty and whatever Life brings me because life is too short not to once I
got started with two magicians and one ventriloquist helped me once I got the
knack of it it became easier and then I joined him I did would make moments you
know when I was learning the script and I thought well this isn't gonna work I
mean how how how can I do it but I used to write notes to myself little letters
to myself and put them on the desk saying you know you could do anything
you know anything with faith you can move mountains and trust and let go and
all that something you know and I still just to throw myself into it and then
they went the negatives came to my mind there were the positive positive sounds
in my head you know make I'd say I can do it you and I I
used to meditate and visualize myself doing it nice to visualize myself on
like a kind of time visualize myself doing those sort of signing cards and
spinning them and and gradually surprising the power of mind what
happens you know your muscles begin to respond it's like anything that if you
thing the piano or driving the car comes through the Latian absolutely but you
know what you run into stupid people everywhere unfortunately doesn't matter
if it's the cab driver who doesn't want to stop for you or you know or go past
110th Street or you know or you know if it's if it's some executive who somehow
managed to be coming in a position of power to greenlight movies who has no
clue I mean you know some things are just timing and and determination and
persevere

Banned TV Episodes You Won't Be Seeing Anytime Soon - Duration: 5:03.Star Trek, I Love Lucy, and The Prisoner are some of the greatest television shows of all
time.
But they also share another surprising connection: each of those classic shows has had an episode
banned.
And they aren't alone.
So what could cause a beloved series like Mister Rogers' Neighborhood to to get yanked
from the airwaves?
Here's a look at why these TV episodes were banned.
Star Trek: Patterns of Force
The original Star Trek was ambitious in its attempts at social commentary.
With the episode Patterns of Force, though, some folks in Germany thought those efforts
went too far.
That's because the episode involved an alien planet under Nazi-like rule - so Nazi-like
they even used actual Nazi uniforms and symbols.
Luckily Kirk and Spock intervene and set up a peaceful government instead, but that didn't
keep this episode from being banned in Germany for decades.
I Love Lucy: The Ricardos Visit Cuba
When Lucy, Ricky, and family traveled to Cuba in 1956, everybody in America had a big chuckle
at Lucy's hilarious fish-out-of-water hijinks.
But after Cuba became a communist regime under Fidel Castro, people stopped laughing, and
this episode was banned from reruns for "almost a decade" despite the fact that it's essentially
just one bad cigar gag after another.
Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood: Conflict
The central focus of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood was always on teaching moral lessons to children
through stories and songs.
So how do you explain the Cold War to kids?
Why, with a multi-part epic storyline where King Friday begins stockpiling bomb-making
materials because he believes Southwood is gearing up to attack Make-Believe.
The result sounds more like Team America than Mr. Rogers, with puppets engaging in espionage,
political paranoia, and teaching lessons on air raids and gas mask use.
"Last time we pretended the people of Southwood were very much like the people of the neighborhood
of Make-Believe.
They certainly weren't people who were building bombs for a war the way King Friday thought
they were."
The episodes actually continued to air in normal rotation until 1996, but haven't been
seen since, other than a few recent attempts to use them as current political commentary.
Star Trek: The Next Generation: The High Ground
This episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation featured Picard and the gang getting involved
in a civil war that was a very thinly veiled commentary on the Irish Troubles.
So thinly veiled, in fact, that the planet's fictional timeline is actually a timeline
of the Troubles, and Data even directly references the conflict.
"And it appears that terrorism is an effect way to promote political change.
Yet there are numerous examples when it was successful.
The independents of the Mexican state from Spain, the Irish unification of 2024."
That didn't go over well in the UK or the Republic of Ireland, especially since the
episode aired just a few months after an IRA bomb attack at the Royal Marines Music School
in Deal in southern England that killed 11 and wounded 22.
As a result, the episode was banned for almost two decades before finally airing in 2006.
Ironically, the episode was originally meant to be about the American Revolution.
In the book Captain's Logs, writer Melinda Snodgrass explained that she was ordered to
make the change by her bosses.
I wanted it with Picard as Cornwallis and the Romulans would have been the French, who
were in our revolution, trying to break this planet away.
Suddenly Picard realized he's one of the oppressors.
Instead, we do 'Breakfast in Belfast,' where our people decide they're going to go off
to Northern Ireland."
The Prisoner: Living in Harmony
This episode of the surreal series The Prisoner featured a novel method of trying to psychologically
break down the protagonist Number 6 by placing him within a virtual reality simulation of
an Old West community and trying to coerce him into playing the role of sheriff.
The character refuses, though, which may or may not have led to the episode being banned,
as some felt it was a commentary about conscientious objectors avoiding the Vietnam War draft.
Officially, the episode was actually banned because of the show's portrayal of mind-altering
drugs, but since many episodes dealt with drug use and still aired, sensitivity about
Vietnam seems to be a more likely explanation.
The Big Bang Theory
China is pretty ban-happy when it comes to imported shows.
They don't need much of a reason, which is good, because they didn't have much of a reason
when it comes to outright banning The Big Bang Theory entirely.
The show is actually quite popular in China, or at least, it was until the State Administration
of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television pulled the plug.
Exactly why is a matter of debate, but some feel it's because of the rise of diaosi, which
originally was a pejorative term for broke loser guys without jobs or girlfriends.
Now, though, the term has been embraced by a generation of young geeks proud of their
so-called loser status who see the characters in The Big Bang Theory as role models.
And that scares China.
Which is great, because the idea of Sheldon Cooper as a counter-cultural iconoclast threatening
to destabilize the social order of one of the biggest nations on Earth is actually more
entertaining than any plot the show could have ever come up with.

Hair Tutorial: Express Yourself Secret Message 자막 O [Hayden Royalty] - Duration: 12:56.no, more interruptions please
Hi my name is Hayden and today I wanted to make a video of me doing my hair
So a lot of people have asked me like 'how do you do your hair? you should make a video tutorial about
that you should do a video tutorial of you doing your hair, getting ready and
For the longest time I didn't really exactly know how I would film that. I don't even have a screen right now but i'm just
attempting and hopefully it works
Like I can barely see what I'm kind of doing... like I can see kind of on my camera
But besides that, I have a really small mirror next to me that
Maybe will help me out. So it might not be looking at the camera the whole time, I might be like looking
Over here. So a lot of people asked me because i have like different
hairstyles and like they want to know how i saw my hair and
i thought that i would
show
a video of me doing my hair in a certain way
this is I guess the simplest way how I do my hair if i want to do something
To my hair. It doesn't require like anything of hot like a hot straightener
but it does require this brush that i've had for a very very very long time and i
haven't had this brush specifically but this kind of brush that i grew up with and
My mom had it when we when i was little and then i used it and
It's just something that has been so helpful for me and my family and
when we're doing our hair and doing something to our hair and
A lot of people
don't know what this is. Like i don't even know the name of this either and sometimes i just like
Show this to people or people come to my place and they're like "what's that? "and
i'm like "It's something that I use to do my hair"
And they're like "I've never seen such a thing"
I'm like " I don't know, I just like had it forever and
I never bought one before cuz the one that i always had my mom had and so
She had several and so she just gave me one so i took that off
To college and then when i came to korea the outlets are different and so like unless i have an adapter i can use it
But my aunt she also has this and she gave me hers because she had like several
And so i never actually bought this
So i don't know what it's called for me to buy it. Maybe someone might know and you should just leave a comment down there
so first all right now just showered and i just kind of blow dried my hair a little bit i
blow drying my hair with cold air
Cuz I just feel like after my shower if I blow-dry my hair with hot air
It's not going to be good for my hair so i will take
To be honest, I usually don't have a blow-dryer oh?
that thing fell
it's okay
you don't need this
like the thing that i have is like plenty enough
So my secret tool. What is my secret tool? What is the secret tool to my hair? Well the secret tool to my hair
is this
it's like a heat brush
this is panasonic. I don't know if that makes a difference, but basically it's a heat brush and
what i do
normally to
To dry my hair is i take the head. The head comes off. There's a button here
and i just take the head off and i put on
this is HOT
There's three, two, one. Three is very
high, and hot
Two is
Two is low and hot and one is cool and so for a while just do one.
so i
Finished blow-drying my hair and then i put this back on and i put it on TWO which is a low
Heat, not low heat. It's hot but
The air isn't as strong
And so what i do is you put on two and
This is if i want to put my hair up yeah and today i want to put my hair up partially
i want to do this kind of hair
So what i do is, I take
like
My hair... kind of there's a line here from the shaved part to the long hair part or where my hair is longer
I'm gonna take it's like a low heat
And then i kind of brush it up hold it and i brush it down
And then what i do is i take this and then you push it out and then i hold it
It kind of stands up like this. like the heat makes it kind of stand
kind of go up and keep it up
And so what i do is.. I do that to this entire section right here and then i do it up here too
So what i've created is like this poof here and it's a really flat here and so what i do is i slowly
move it up
like heat i slowly start heating here and lifting it up here
Not, really like doing anything here up here take this and lift over my hair and every time there's a line i finish our like
layer layer and there
i
got this like poufiness up going around here and then i kind of tried to like curl it here
make a go down here i
no, one's ever really taught me how to do my hair i
just, like had to like learn on my own i
Just, see like hair that i might like and i try to
just kind of
like
create it using my own like instincts? is it instincts? my intuition
It's like i don't know how people do their hair and like some people like
Your hair it takes forever but i don't want to take that much time on my hair
especially like if i need to go to work and i woke up late i
Don't want to put down much but like at the same time like i might not be able to wear a hat
Okay so it's still poofy
Here and so underneath i want to like
even it i'll even at all i'm like what's really good with this brush is like it's kind of like
round and so what you do is you kind of lift your hair
and then you pull it down and then you kind of bring it up with this and you hold it and it will curl
And so what that's really useful for is the back of your hair cuz usually the back of your hair can be very?
flat. if your hair is getting longer here or just like my head like a flat head and
So what's really nice i like i always like
To have it round on the back and so what i would do is i would use this and i would try to round out my hair
And so what i do my last thing is like just use wax
i'm not really particular about wax
as long as it does the job. i like the matte finish like i dont really like
something that looks like a gel finish or like a grease finish
sometimes like i only need like very little
like about this much of wax. What i do is ... i kind of
use my fingertips
and i rub it
kinda just like run my hair up and
the shape and the way that it's going up
Then here i'll just kind of like make it more volumized
and then i just kind of like shuffle it
would always like see if i need more wax cuz i like to start off with a little bit of wax because it's better to
Like have little and then use more as you go then i use too much and you can't reduce it
How long it took me but hopefully it didn't take too long, so
yeah, i'm just like happy with this
It's the simplest way without having to use a straightener. I hope this tutorial helped out anyone who was like curious
Or got an idea of like what they should do with their hair
maybe you're not gonna use this method but maybe you could like get
something out of it. like even one or even like a tip about wax can help you out or
the tip about like buying one of these, which i don't know what they're called. I hope you learn something
and i hope this can help anyone else and
help them like
do something to their hair because for me
My mom always told me like she didn't want me to cut my hair short because it's like such high maintenance and
i mean it puts a little bit more effort then when i had like long hair
Like i have to put more effort because when i was long hair i just
towel dry it and brush it and that's it but like with
Short hair and like does make me put effort into my hair but it definitely is worth it because
It's just like boosts up your confidence, it just boosts up your self-esteem and you just feel better about
yourself and your expression and it's something that i
know it's just like this is i even though it
is a routine even though it takes time for me to like wake up and put this much effort on my hair
It's something that's very?
soothing and calming and
it just makes my day, so much better i
Feel so much better these days were like do my hair then if I didn't do my hair or if i just wore a hat like?
It just makes my day, so much better like i'm prepared to take on this day and
it's just like a tiny thing that
that changes my day and makes my day so much better
so if this video can help anyone else you know make their day a little bit better just by
doing their hair and like learning how to do their hair i
definitely recommend it
hope this video can make someone feel like that
Anyway, so yeah that was my video if you liked it press the like button. Let me know. If you have any questions
write in the comments section below or like send me a dm
If it's in korean it might take a little bit a little bit longer but i will definitely try to answer those and
That's all. Don't forget, to subscribe and follow me on instagram and i will see you all next time

Would you recommend
using one on a climb?

I Feel Broken Inside! 😭😭😭 - Duration: 1:33.Sometimes life can be very heartbreaking, but just remember, cracks allows light to
enter, God cannot enter your soul without any heartbreaking experience.
In order for you to see all the good in the world, you have to see the bad.
We can't grow without going through hard times.
We can't rebuilt and learn from our mistakes if we never felt broken or pain.
Remember life moves on, don't let one bad experience keep you from enjoying the rest
of your life.
Accept the feeling, when we accept our feelings and not try to fight it, we can each that
place where moving past them is a possibility.
Don't resist and anticipate the change.
Its normal for us human to feel hurt, sad, lonely, angry, but the mistake that a lot
of people do is that they stay drowning on these feelings that are supposed to be temporary.
Things won't start to get better until you decide to stop letting this pain consume you.
The worst thing you could do to yourself is suppress your true feelings, o pretend you
are strong, to meet the expectations of the people around you.
If you need to cry..cry..its ok.
But don't let this pain continue to hurt you.
I want you right now to tell yourself, Today I choose life.
Sometimes feeling broken is the key to actually feeling whole.
Because its not until you're broken when you realize what you're made of.
So if you feel broken, built yourself back up but stronger than ever.
May the Gospel give your life.

Avengers Hot News!!! Infinity War Teases More Iron Man and Captain America Conflict - Duration: 2:17.Robert Downey jr. has confirmed that there's more conflict on the horizon for
Iron Man and Captain America in Avengers infinity war and you thought a silly
little thing like the apocalypse would send their family food to the backburner
Jono's invasion of Earth is just over five months away he's coming for those
Infinity stones and if the Avengers don't band together the planet is doomed
the mad Titan is far and away the most dangerous villain they've ever faced and
according to Kevin Feige that fact will be cemented in the first five minutes of
the film he'll apparently even have Loki in his corner but thanks to the events
of Captain America Civil War Earth's Mightiest Heroes are in a sorry
state the bad blood between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers have been building for
a while but they finally came to blows in civil war
dragging most of the known superheroes of Earth into the scuffle as well we
figured they'd bury the hatchet in order to stave off disaster but according to
Robert Downey jr. that may not be the case at least not right away it's not
entirely clear what down he means by staring daggers and take a turn civil
war ended on a rather hopeful note well at least when you consider that Tony and
Steve had nearly just beaten each other to death is our DJ saying that they're
still pissed at each other when they first meet up and then the relationship
takes a turn back into friendly territory easy saying that they'll find
themselves at odds once again with Earth's fate hanging in the balance
either way it looks like this rivalry has another chapter or two left to play
out but with the end of the world a scavenger hunt and a finger snap away
Steve and Tony need to patch things up fast Jonas is coming really soon

pt 3: Can a "Bad" mic be EQed to sound "Good"?
