Liverpool have completed the signing of Dutch centre-back Virgil van Dijk, after agreeing the terms of the move with Southampton on December 27.
A key area identified for improvement and a key target who could be an upgrade: Jurgen Klopp now finally has his man for the middle of the defence.
The Reds were proactive in arranging the deal as early as possible after a failed summer move, and now with the January transfer window open, van Dijk has finalised his move to Anfield.

Banned TV Episodes You Won't Be Seeing Anytime Soon - Duration: 5:03.
Star Trek, I Love Lucy, and The Prisoner are some of the greatest television shows of all
time.
But they also share another surprising connection: each of those classic shows has had an episode
banned.
And they aren't alone.
So what could cause a beloved series like Mister Rogers' Neighborhood to to get yanked
from the airwaves?
Here's a look at why these TV episodes were banned.
Star Trek: Patterns of Force
The original Star Trek was ambitious in its attempts at social commentary.
With the episode Patterns of Force, though, some folks in Germany thought those efforts
went too far.
That's because the episode involved an alien planet under Nazi-like rule - so Nazi-like
they even used actual Nazi uniforms and symbols.
Luckily Kirk and Spock intervene and set up a peaceful government instead, but that didn't
keep this episode from being banned in Germany for decades.
I Love Lucy: The Ricardos Visit Cuba
When Lucy, Ricky, and family traveled to Cuba in 1956, everybody in America had a big chuckle
at Lucy's hilarious fish-out-of-water hijinks.
But after Cuba became a communist regime under Fidel Castro, people stopped laughing, and
this episode was banned from reruns for "almost a decade" despite the fact that it's essentially
just one bad cigar gag after another.
Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood: Conflict
The central focus of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood was always on teaching moral lessons to children
through stories and songs.
So how do you explain the Cold War to kids?
Why, with a multi-part epic storyline where King Friday begins stockpiling bomb-making
materials because he believes Southwood is gearing up to attack Make-Believe.
The result sounds more like Team America than Mr. Rogers, with puppets engaging in espionage,
political paranoia, and teaching lessons on air raids and gas mask use.
"Last time we pretended the people of Southwood were very much like the people of the neighborhood
of Make-Believe.
They certainly weren't people who were building bombs for a war the way King Friday thought
they were."
The episodes actually continued to air in normal rotation until 1996, but haven't been
seen since, other than a few recent attempts to use them as current political commentary.
Star Trek: The Next Generation: The High Ground
This episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation featured Picard and the gang getting involved
in a civil war that was a very thinly veiled commentary on the Irish Troubles.
So thinly veiled, in fact, that the planet's fictional timeline is actually a timeline
of the Troubles, and Data even directly references the conflict.
"And it appears that terrorism is an effect way to promote political change.
Yet there are numerous examples when it was successful.
The independents of the Mexican state from Spain, the Irish unification of 2024."
That didn't go over well in the UK or the Republic of Ireland, especially since the
episode aired just a few months after an IRA bomb attack at the Royal Marines Music School
in Deal in southern England that killed 11 and wounded 22.
As a result, the episode was banned for almost two decades before finally airing in 2006.
Ironically, the episode was originally meant to be about the American Revolution.
In the book Captain's Logs, writer Melinda Snodgrass explained that she was ordered to
make the change by her bosses.
I wanted it with Picard as Cornwallis and the Romulans would have been the French, who
were in our revolution, trying to break this planet away.
Suddenly Picard realized he's one of the oppressors.
Instead, we do 'Breakfast in Belfast,' where our people decide they're going to go off
to Northern Ireland."
The Prisoner: Living in Harmony
This episode of the surreal series The Prisoner featured a novel method of trying to psychologically
break down the protagonist Number 6 by placing him within a virtual reality simulation of
an Old West community and trying to coerce him into playing the role of sheriff.
The character refuses, though, which may or may not have led to the episode being banned,
as some felt it was a commentary about conscientious objectors avoiding the Vietnam War draft.
Officially, the episode was actually banned because of the show's portrayal of mind-altering
drugs, but since many episodes dealt with drug use and still aired, sensitivity about
Vietnam seems to be a more likely explanation.
The Big Bang Theory
China is pretty ban-happy when it comes to imported shows.
They don't need much of a reason, which is good, because they didn't have much of a reason
when it comes to outright banning The Big Bang Theory entirely.
The show is actually quite popular in China, or at least, it was until the State Administration
of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television pulled the plug.
Exactly why is a matter of debate, but some feel it's because of the rise of diaosi, which
originally was a pejorative term for broke loser guys without jobs or girlfriends.
Now, though, the term has been embraced by a generation of young geeks proud of their
so-called loser status who see the characters in The Big Bang Theory as role models.
And that scares China.
Which is great, because the idea of Sheldon Cooper as a counter-cultural iconoclast threatening
to destabilize the social order of one of the biggest nations on Earth is actually more
entertaining than any plot the show could have ever come up with.

happy 2018 hey what's up guys my name is Shane Viaene for those of you
that a new for those of you that are not welcome back to my channel so what I'm going to be
doing today is doing my 2018 new year's resolution goals so basically I'm
telling you guys my new year's resolution so I can help inspire you
guys with New Year's resolutions because I don't sometimes they're really hard to
keep up with and also I'm doing it so you guys can keep me accountable because
some of them are YouTube and social media related so I want you guys to help
with that as well so my first New Year's resolution is to
take notes more so that's why I have this book and also they're all written
in this book as well so my 2018 New Year's resolutions my first New Year's
resolution is to go to the gym because I want to and I know a lot of people are
like oh yeah I want to go to the gym I want to just like I feel a lot of time
they feel the pressure to go to the gym because I have a membership and I want
to like get my money out of it so I want to obviously get my money out of it but
also I feel like I want to go Jews to improve my overall health and well-being
as a person so yeah my second goal for 2018 is to post on YouTube more I feel
like I've been slacking this whole year and I apologize to you guys so that's
why I'm trying to post more regularly on YouTube I have a bunch of new ideas
coming for you guys in 2018 and I want you guys keep me accountable tweet me
snapchat me and tell me I'm not uploading just tell me I thought I need
to upload and yeah so I hope you guys keep me accountable
so I third goal for 2018 is to read my Bible more I just recently got about for
my good friend fist and here it is it's great and it has like a really cool
finish to it so I just want to really get into the Bible more and read the
Bible more because I want to get deeper into my faith and along with reading my
Bible more so number four would be getting deeper with my small group we
have recently joined our small group in september/october ich area and I would
just wanted to go deeper like get in the deeper spiritual connection with them
and so I feel like for Christians especially it is a very good to come
together in community and just a small group of like-minded Christians as a
good support system for your face so the next one is I want to get involved with
my family more like I am super involved with my family but
we don't like go out and do stuff together we're all just like sit in
chill which is a lot of fun but I want to go out and like explore like do
things with my family and just basically just spend more quality time with my
family and the next goal for 2018 is I want to read more books I feel like I
actually actually just did this I bought a book and I didn't read it because I
don't have time but I think I need to like make time in my day for reading I
don't think I actually know this I need to make time for reading in my day I
think reading is just really good for not only like your growth mentally but
also like helps you helps your vocab you go bigger and your imagination so here's
a goal for you guys maybe you can write this down try to read it like 10 minutes
a day if you guys are like into reading if you are maybe 30 minutes like that
that's something like that could be really really attainable because 30
minutes of your day they go out is not that much so try 10 minutes a day and
then work your way up to like 30 or 40 maybe if you try so yeah that's a goal
for you guys for 2018 and then if you guys are going to which I really really
highly recommend you do comment that down below what you guys are going to be
reading in the new year because I need a new book to read obviously because I
don't read that much so the next one is to be confident in my body and I know a
lot of people might be like well you have a good body book but I just don't
feel super confident in my body and I really want to work on that 2018 I did
in 2017 I think I got pretty good but I just want to like get to the point where
I'm like super confident my body I'm like don't care what people say about it
because I think I have a good body but like sometimes I'm like do I really so I
think that's really important just to have like a good self-image of yourself
and I think reading this will help me on that another one that I find is really
really important is you're just fine joy not happiness joy because joy is a
choice happiness is a feeling I want to find joy in the small things just like
everyday simple things like coffee in the morning or like reading my book or
small times alone I want to find joy in those moments because I think a lot of
us especially in this day and age of like social media like happening quick
and happening fast we don't take time for joy and like the little moments in
our lives so I really want to just appreciate all of little moments in 2018
which I know it's gonna be super hard to because oh like life moves so fast but I
just want to sit down and just enjoy the small moments and so my last goal for
2018 is to be on social media less and that doesn't mean posting less or doing
less that just means like when you post something
host it and then like get off social media for a little bit and do something
else maybe stalk somebody less because we all know we enjoy a good in stalking
maybe maybe spend less time on Instagram because I know I spend so much time on
the explore page was scrolling through and scrolling through like mindlessly
and I just want to like get rid of that and find time for other things like
maybe reading a book maybe reading a Bible like going out and doing something
that you find is meaningful that's like not in the social world that actually
like means something like in this world so anyway that is all I have for this
video I hope you guys really did enjoy it you guys got some goals for 2018 out
of it because I know sometimes goals are hard like I said in the beginning but I
hope this gave you guys a few ideas and maybe you guys took some of my ideas and

Hello, everyone. I am Chad A. Ludwig.
I want to share exciting news with you today.
Beginning in 2018, I will take on a position at
Oregon Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services (ODHHS),
where my job title will be Deaf and Hard of Hearing Service Analyst.
In this capacity, I will work closely with state agencies to strengthen their services
and accessibility for Deaf, Deaf-Blind, Hard of Hearing persons
and those with an additional disabilities.
I am absolutely looking forward to the challenges and opportunities this new journey will bring.
I will keep you updated with my progress as I go through the necessary trainings to familiarize myself with
state systems, policies, and procedures, and to understand the responsibilities of
being a state employee. After completing training, I will be able to start in my official
capacity in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services, which I am eager to do.

hey everyone welcome back to another exciting episode of Baum grillings today
we're doing an appetizer we're doing poutine potato bites poutine yeah you
ever heard of that well I'm glad you asked hey Siri what is poutine? poutine
is a Canadian dish originating from the province of Quebec initially made with
french fries and cheese curds topped with a brown gravy would you like to
hear more you're awesome Siri was it something I
said yeah basically so there you have it Siri really does know everything so
basically poutine originated in Canada yep Oh Canada way up there you know
there's a lot of different stories on how it came to be but I'm gonna let them
kind of hash that out what poutine is you got your french fries you got your
cheese curds and you got your gravy pour that all over that dish and you've got
something delicious so what we're gonna do today though is a little bit
different we're gonna take a little different spin on what poutine is we're
gonna make it into just little bite-sized scrumptious servings that you
can just serve as an appetizer to family friends or a party whatever you're doing
so what you're going to need is your gonna need baby red potatoes you're
gonna need some bacon chives shallots butter flour beef broth apple cider
vinegar worcestershire ketchup and don't forget
the cheese curds
now those cheese curds were hard to find I went to like four different stores I
even called some I had my wife call actually and they had none we're gonna
put this together and the first thing we're gonna do is we're gonna boil our
potatoes so you're gonna stick all your potatoes into a pot cover it about two
to three inches you're gonna turn it on high and once it starts boiling
you're gonna turn it down to low you're gonna let it simmer for about twenty
minutes all right once your potatoes are cooked set them aside and let them cool
now we're gonna start on our gravy so get yourself a medium saucepan and heat
some butter over medium heat once it's melted add your flour and make a roux
make sure you keep an eye on it you don't want it to burn but once you've
got it mixed together real nice add your beef broth apple cider vinegar
worcestershire ketchup and then a little bit of salt and pepper
bring that to a boil then turn it down to medium low and let it simmer so that
the gravy will thicken up once you have a nice thick consistency your gravy is
good to go once you have your gravy and your potatoes all cooked up it's time to
assemble these poutine potato bites let's do it well okay now that we got
everything prepared what we're gonna do is we're gonna take our little potatoes
they're nice and soft okay and you're gonna get your
knife and what you want to do is you want to find the spot that it kind of
just sits flat kind of find the bottom okay once you do that flip it over and
cut the top off then you want to take your little melon baller push that down
and scoop out a little tasty bit at least that's what I'm gonna call it
there you go just like that set that over here and keep this because you
might be able to use it later go ahead and do that to all your potatoes
okay so we got them all carved out they look good sitting on a little griddle
there so what we're gonna do is we're gonna hit them with some salt just a
little bit give it a little extra added flavor there okay now what we're gonna
do is we're gonna add our cheese curds now I've got garlic cheddar it actually
says Vampire Slayer hopefully it's good I haven't had this kind yet because I
couldn't find any normal ones like I said all right so what you're gonna need
to do is just kind of break it up because they're kind of big put that
inside
okay now that our cheese curds are all filled in to our little potato bites
we're gonna take our nice warm gravy we're just gonna fill each little pocket
oh yeah try to fill in every little crevice that you can oh it smells good
this gravy smells good okay each one of those is filled up with some good gravy
so now what we're gonna do is we're gonna put them on the grill
I've heated the grill up to about 350 degrees we're gonna set these inside for
about ten minutes that's all you need you just need to melt the cheese a
little bit kind of give them a little crisp and then you're good to go
so let's put them on that looks good now you can do this in your oven as well so
just turn it up to 350 throw them in bake them until the cheese is good
all right it's been about ten minutes that cheese is all melted up we're gonna
pull them off oh yeah now what we're gonna do is we're gonna add a little bit
of bacon bits so that bacon that you grabbed you want to make sure you get
that all prepped and ready to go too so we'll put that on top and you nothing
like some bacon now that we've done that we're gonna do our chives add that to
the top - oh yeah okay now we're gonna let them cool off a little bit and then
we're gonna dig into one
they are cooled off let's tear into one kind of cute looking that's good lots of
garlic flavor I actually like the garlic garlic is really good the gravy is
excellent hmm wow that is really good little bite-size piece of poutine you
know you can serve this up to your friends and stuff and you'll all get a
little taste of it wow that is a heavenly little piece of poutine Wow
that's excellent I do enjoy the authentic poutine dish -
that's really good but this gives you the little flavor if you're from Canada
