ARSENAL suffered an early blow in their bid for Premier League glory this weekend after falling short at the hands of Stoke.
After battling back to win a thriller on the opening day – 4-3 against Leicester at the Emirates – Arsene Wenger and Co looked to kick-on at the bet365 Stadium. Arsenal might be out of the Premier League title race already.
No team has ever lost to Stoke away and won the Premier League title. However, a sole strike from former Real Madrid star Jese Rodriguez downed the Gunners and saw them stumble early doors yet again.

I'm Thorben Janssen from thoughts-on-java.org with a new Hibernate Tip.
In this video, I will answer the question
How you can tell Hibernate to exclude unmodified attributes from update statements.
By default, Hibernate updates all database columns mapped by an entity,
even the ones that you didn't change.
This is a question I got asked on my blog and if you've a question yourself,
please post it as a comment.
Generating SQL statements takes time and Hibernate,
therefore, uses one cached SQL UPDATE statement per entity.
It sets all database columns so that it can be used for all update operations.
You can change that with the @DynamicUpdate annotation.
It tells Hibernate to generate a new SQL statement
for each update operation.
This statement will only update the changed database columns.
And while this might seem to be the better approach,
please keep in mind that you're deactivating a performance optimization.
OK, let's take a look at an example.
Here you can see a simple Book entity.
The only thing you need to do is to add the
@DynamicUpdate annotation to your entity class.
When you now modify the price of the Book entity,
Hibernate generates an SQL statement for this operation
instead of reusing the generic update statement.
As you can see in the log messages,
it only changes the price
and version column in the Book table.

Draw Tip Tuesday: How To Use Color Pencils! - Duration: 4:18.
Welcome to draw tip tuesday!
Here's your weekly dose of inspiration to build a creative habit
one drawing at a time.

I got a request for a draw tip video on how to shade with color pencils.
Let's grab a bunch of color pencils (any brand will do), and let's get to know their
characteristics a little bit better!
Let's start with the basics.
When you use color pencils, you want to be gentle on the pencil pressure.
The colors blend best when you layer them.
When you press your pencil hard, you'll get a waxy layer of color that will saturate
the paper and then you won't be able to add more color layers.
If you want more saturation on the color, simply add another layer, and another layer.
Use light hatching strokes in different directions so you fill all angles of the tooth of the
paper.
Yellow, red and blue are the primary colors and really they are all you basically need.
When adding blue to yellow, you get green, when adding yellow to red, you get orange,
and when adding red to blue, you get purple.
Orange, purple and green are the secondary colors, or complementary colors.
You'll find them in any color pencil set along with the three primary colors red yellow
and blue.
If I'd put these in a color wheel, you'll see that the secondary colors are the opposite
colors of the primary colors.
Knowing this can be beneficial for your color blending and shading.
So if you would draw a red apple, you want to start with a light layer of red - but leave
a white patch for the shiny highlight on the apple.
Now, by adding more and more layers, just lightly hatching them on top of each other,
you can add more depth to the shape, and you are deepening the color.
the red becomes brighter with every added layer.
The apple I'm drawing here would be lit from the front left, which means the right
hand side of the apple is shaded.
The further the apple curves from the light source, the darker the shading.
Now to deepen the red color, pick up its opposite color: green.
At first that seems kind of an unnatural thing to do, but you will see that if you gently
add a layer of green to the darker areas, the red color deepens even more now.
Alternate red and green to layer.
You could also add a bit of yellow to the red if you're looking for a bit of a warmer
color.
Let's not forget the drop shadow.
If you add this, your apple will sit on a surface rather than float in a white paper
space.
For the drop shadow, start with the opposite color of the subject.
Then add blue (it's a cool color, perfect for the shadow), alternate red and back to
green until you have a dark shade.
You can fiddle around with the primary and secondary colors to create a brown color for
the stalk, like I am doing here without much success, but there's likely a nice brown
pencil in your color pencil set, so why not use that?
Just some finishing touches, a little extra layer to deepen the color even more, so we're
left with as little white shining through from the white background as possible - except
for that highlight of course, we haven't touched that at all!
It makes the apple shiny.
You can make better use of all the art supplies that you have, not just those color pencils
that may have been collecting dust!

Most older people prefer living in their own homes to staying in an assisted living facility.
But without help around the house, it can be difficult.
Especially if they have stairs to climb, garbage to carry to the curb, or a large yard to maintain
— and this last one turned out to be a real problem for 75-year-old Gerry Suttle.
Gerry lives in Riesel, Texas, where a local law bans residents from letting their grass
get more than 18 inches (45 cm) tall.
But back in 2015, Gerry had difficulty keeping her lawn neat and tidy.
After a while, the police noticed, and they even sent her a notice to appear in court.
But Gerry never saw the notice, so she didn't show up for her court date.
Eventually, the police issued a warrant for Gerry's arrest and the elderly woman was about
to be thrown in jail.
The news became the talk of the town, and when four young boys saw a news report about
Gerry on TV, they knew exactly what they had to do.
The Reynolds brothers each brought a lawnmower to Gerry's house and and started cutting the
grass and weeds.
"We haven't met her yet, but she's 75 years old and she needs some help mowing.
That's the least we could do," Blaine Reynolds told News 10.
"That made me feel bad because it's a 75-year-old woman.
Who's gonna mow their lawn?"
Blake Reynolds said when he heard that Gerry could end up in jail.
When other people in the area saw what happened, they also joined the effort — and in just
two hours, Gerry's entire lawn was mowed.
"I am very seldom without words.
This is one time.
You might want to mark it down in history that I didn't have something to say," Gerry
said before hugging her little heroes.

Hi, today's tip on how you can grow your business by supporting charities and social causes
is to invite your customers to make a donation when they are making a purchase.
So to do this, this could be in terms of in a physical location, if people are coming
to a physical checkout you may have a charitable collection tin or jar beside the checkout
and if they are paying by cash you can invite them to put their spare change into that tin
or collection.
You could also, if they are paying by card, you could be asking them to add a donation
in if you have the technology to do so or if that feels like something that you want
to do.
That is something that you may well have seen in the online world, so for instance Amazon
sometimes invite us to make a donation in the checkout process, or you may actually
have been invited to do this when you've been checking out of a hotel and the company invites
you to make a donation at that point.
And actually, this can be a highly effective way of raising money, it just depends whether
or not you feel comfortable asking your customers to do this.
I know somebody else locally, in fact I know a couple of people locally to me, who, when
the send invoices out, they put at the bottom of their invoice that they are raising funds
for a particular cause close to their heart.
And they invite customers to pay extra, an extra amount on top of whatever they've invoiced
them for, and they quite often get people paying that extra donation.
So you could do it for physical products, online products or when you're actually invoicing
for services.

Then one night changed his whole life while he was watching a show on TV ''The Edge
of Science''. Dr. John Zirdum was a guest at this show and he talked about how he had
lived only on raw foods for 12 years. It was on New Year's Eve of 2013 when this
man thought that it was about time for him to turn a new page as he had enough illnesses.
After watching the show he was thinking about what Dr. Zirdum said about raw food and came
to a decision to try it out himself. After he purchased a blender and with that his new
life began.
During the next week, he managed to overcome all of his desires about food. He successfully
achieved the first result in no time. The level of blood sugar decreased to 5.
It was unbelievable. So he stopped taking insulin, because he did not need it anymore,
and with this type of diet, the blood sugar will not increase. In case the levels increased
he will go back to taking insulin.
But fortunately, he did not have to do that ever again. And he started to lose weight
quickly after that.
He was losing a kilo every day. He lost 11 kg in just 25 days. After four months on this
diet with raw fruit and vegetable, he changed into a totally different man than before.
Now he does not take insulin, he weighs 20 kg less, the level of triglycerides is 1.4,

the official esports series for GWENT: The Witcher Card Game.
The idea behind GWENT Masters is simple
to elevate competitive GWENT to a professional level
and give gamers the opportunity
to officially become the best GWENT players in the world.
The starting point for GWENT Masters is the Pro Ladder.
This is a brand new, esports oriented mode of competitive play,
separate from normal Ranked Play.
Pro Ladder will be played in seasons, each one taking 2 months to complete.
To remain competitive throughout the seasons,
players will need to actively participate in the Pro Ladder,
as well as constantly vary the factions and deck types they use.
Every Pro Ladder season
players will be rewarded with Crown Points
accounting for their achievements
during GWENT Masters and its events.
Players will receive Crown Points for:
-placing in the top 200 of the Pro Ladder at the end of each season
-participating in official GWENT tournaments
organized by CD PROJEKT RED
-and placing in licensed GWENT tournaments
not organized by CD PROJEKT RED
You will be able to check how many Crown Points
you have at any time at masters.playgwent.com.
There are three tiers of official GWENT tournaments.
GWENT OPEN is the entry tier of tournaments,
but is by no means a walk in the park.
There will be a total of 8 OPEN tournaments

Only the top 8 players
with the most Crown Points at the end of each Pro Ladder season
will qualify to battle it out for fame, glory,
and a piece of the $25 000 USD prize pool.

will feature a total of 8 competitors:

will qualify to enter GWENT OPEN.
Ahead of the tournament,
each participant must build 4
decks from 4 different factions.

Once the players have each banned an enemy deck,
they will choose 1 out of their 3 remaining decks
to use for their first match.
Winning decks can't be used to play another match,
while losing ones may be used again
or swapped out for another.
Matches are played in a best-of-five,
single elimination format,
meaning that to defeat an opponent,
players must win
using each of their 3 decks a single time,
with the victors playing on until
a GWENT OPEN winner is determined.
Participants of GWENT OPEN
will be competing for a piece
of a $25 000 prize pool,
as well as a place
in the next GWENT CHALLENGER.
