What Happened to New Adult? - Duration: 2:31.

Hi community of awesome, I'm Ava Jae and this is bookishpixie.

So you guise may or may not remember this, or have been aware of it to begin with, but

a couple years ago there was a new category of books that released that was like this

big new thing and it was called New Adult.

New Adult was meant to fill the gap between Young Adult and Adult, and it was all about

what it means to be an adult, and about becoming an adult and that awkward period of no longer

being a teen but not really feeling like an adult yet, all while mixing that with other

genres—or at least, that's what it was supposed to be.

And lots of people, myself included, thought that New Adult would break out into multiple

genres so we'd have New Adult Fantasy, and Sci-Fi and New Adult Thrillers, and Mysteries—all of that stuff.

When this was a big thing I even did a vlog on the differences between Young Adult and

New Adult which I'll link to.

But over time, the perception of New Adult and where it's going has changed.

Lots of people were hoping it would break out of the subgenre it started in, which was

a romantic subgenre, but it didn't really happen.

Now, in traditional publishing circles anyway, New Adult is considered a romantic subgenre,

and a digital-only one at that.

So nowadays when I hear writers who are writing manuscripts that are not romance, but are

writing manuscripts with characters in their early twenties and kind of figuring out this

whole adulthood thing, I tell them that they basically have two options, and the two options

are to either age it up to Adult and pitch it as an Adult Fantasy or Sci-Fi or whatever

it is, or to age it down and remove the adult themes and make it Young Adult because if

you want to traditionally publish, those are your options.

Which option you choose is up to you and largely depends on the manuscript; if the voice skews

younger you might want to make it Young Adult, if the voice skews older and has a bunch of

adult themes then you might wanna just make it an adult book.

But nowadays if you want to traditionally publish and you want to write a New Adult

book, unless it's a romantic subgenre, and you're cool with it being digital-only, you're

gonna have to make one choice or the other.

I will say if you're self-publishing it's totally different; the boundaries are much

more flexible there so if you want to write a New Adult Fantasy and self-publish it, you can do that.

But in terms of traditional publishing, that's basically where we're at right now so it's

something to consider.

Seoul and Washington begin talks to discuss possible renegotiation of FTA - Duration: 0:52.

It looks like the Korea-U.S. free trade agreement won't be going back to the drawing board just

yet.

Some thirty trade officials met in the Korean capital today for a special session of the

joint FTA committee.

After months of speculation,... trade officials from Seoul and Washington held a special joint

committee session to discuss a possible amendment to the treaty.

Korea's trade minister Kim Hyun-chong said Seoul had made it clear that talks for revisions

or modficiations cannot go forward without an objective analysis of FTA's impact.

He added that the Korea-U.S. FTA cannot be blamed for America's burgeoning trade deficit

in recent years,... and suggested the reason may due to other factors in the U.S. economy.

He also stressed the importance of conducting joint research to assess whether the FTA requires

modification.

to cross the entire mainland United States in 99 years.

Suddenly, darkness comes in the middle of the day,... and the temperature drops.

Animals go quiet,... and people are left feeling awe and amazement.

It is one of the most spectacular celestial wonders we can witness.

Millions of Americans watched the sun obscured by the moon.

I don't think many people get to say that they got a total eclipse on their birthday.

So I think I feel pretty special because of it."

The path of totality passed through 14 U.S. states,... from Oregon and Wyoming in the

west ,... to South Carolina in the east.

Parts of these states witnessed a total eclipse,... where the moon completely blocks the sun,

leaving only the sun's corona visible.

The rest of North America, including President Trump, who was watching from the White House,

enjoyed a partial eclipse.

This was the first total solar eclipse that traveled from coast to coast in the U.S. in

nearly a century.

the amazing thing about this NPC is that even her abilities has references

to her songs briny romance which is a reference of bad romance and siren song

which causes all nearby enemies to "just dance" which is a reference to her song well you

guessed it just dance this is an amazing tribute well done blizzard

She is a night elf rogue that serves as one of the leaders of the twillight's hammer

clan located at the twilight citadel in the

the twilight highlands, Mia the rose, and yes you guessed it it's a tribute to Mia Rose

a past pornographic actress who loves to play World of Warcraft

This last tribute on our list goes out to a remarkable actor and the npc can be

found on dreanor in Nagrand. To find him you have to fly over to the island shown

on the map just below Grommashar and to summon the npc you have to click on

the genie bottle which will summon Robin. This is a tribute to no other than

robin williams who also did the voice acting for Disney's Aladdin and that's

why Robin is a genie in game this is one of my favorite tributes in game let me

The presidential Blue House has unveiled the president's international tour schedule for

the remainder of this year.

First up is a trip to Russia and a bilateral summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Our chief Blue House correspondent Moon Connyoung has the details.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in will sit down with his Russian counterpart Vladimir

Putin in Russia in about two weeks time.

Seoul's presidential Blue House unveiled the South Korean leader's overseas trips for the

next few months Tuesday... and topping the list: a visit to Russia's Far Eastern city

of Vladivostok to attend the Eastern Economic Forum slated for September 6th and 7th.

Although the forum will primarily focus on discovering and developing the economic potentials

of Russia's Far East and provide South Korean businesses the chance to explore opportunities

there, President Moon will also take the opportunity

to sit down with the Russian president to discuss ways to rein in North Korea as well

as Seoul, Moscow economic ties.

(English) "I think in practice, Moon will push President

Putin for more active stance on N.Korea but I don't think he is going to get much.

But talks about economic cooperation, it could be far more productive.

They can basically have mineral resources, consumption goods, automobile components,

and all the other things."

Russia has kept close relations with Pyongyang, alongside China... but recently expressed

opposition against the North's latest long-range missile tests... making the passage of a UN

Security Council sanctions resolution last month, unanimous.

Next on the president's international trips this year is the Big Apple.

President Moon will fly to New York in mid-September to attend the annual meeting of the UN General

Assembly where he will give a keynote speech.

The South Korean leader who took office in a snap presidential election in May will wrap

up his overseas tours for 2017 with a trip to Vietnam for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation

summit and the annual summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Plus Three in November.

(STAND-UP) "The presidential office says it will be another

busy couple of months for President Moon Jae-in as he continues his summit diplomacy on the

international stage.

What experts are keeping a close eye on, however, is whether Mr. Moon still quite fresh on the

job will be able to bring meaningful results from his foreign trips in the remainder of

the year.
