The parents of the terminally-ill UK baby gave up their legal fight to be allowed to take their son to the US for a possible treatment on July 24.
Lawyer Grant Armstrong said Charlies parents had made a decision following the latest medical reports and scans.
On July 24, Charlie Gard's parents were resigned to the fact that their infant son couldn't travel to the United States because his condition has gotten "to the point of no return.
Charlie was born on August 4, 2016, to Chris Gard and Connie Yates from the London suburb of Bedfont. The child was born with mitochondrial DNA depletion syndrome, a rare genetic condition that prevents muscle growth.
Both Chris Gard and Connie Yates had been campaigning for their son to be allowed to travel to New York City for experimental treatment on their son. That campaign ended on July 24.
Charlie's parents said that the time has run out for the infant and their legal battle against Great Ormond Street hospital is over. They had been campaigning against a court ruling that said Charlie's life support should be ended.

They Have Raised Nearly $1.7 Million for Their Son's Cause. According to Charlie's Go Fund Me page, the family has raised nearly $1.7 million to go towards his treatment. The page was launched in January 2017 and achieved it's goal by April.
The page shares some info about the background to Charlie's diagnosis.
He was born on the 04/08/16 (4th of August) perfectly healthy but then he started to decline. We took him into hospital at 8 weeks old and none of us have been anywhere near home since.
We have been with Charlie day in, day out & watched our poor baby get weaker and weaker, he now needs a ventilator to breathe but we have never lost hope throughout all this time!.

Post on Chris's Twitter page as well images shared of Charlie show Chris to be a fan of English soccer giants Arsenal. They Have Condemned the Death Threats Leveled at the Staff of Great Ormond Street.
A spokeswoman for Great Ormond Street said on July 22 that staff at the hospital had received death threats in relation to the case.
The chairwoman of the hospital referred to staff receiving "thousands of abusive messages." In a statement, Chris and Connie condemned the threats, reports the BBC.
Chris Gard Said on July 24 That He & Yates 'Are About to Do the Hardest Thing We Will Ever Have to Do'.
In an emotional speech given on the steps of London's High Court, Chris Gard said that he and Yates "are about to do the hardest thing we will ever have to do.
" He added that it was time to let Charlie "go and be with the angels.
" Their lawyer, Grant Armstrong, said that it was "worthy of a Greek tragedy" that Chris and Connie had to withdraw their efforts as they were about to present new evidence to the court.
Chris Gard's statement continued, "Firstly I would like to thank our legal team who have worked tirelessly on our behalf for free and to nurses and staff at Great Ormond Street Hospital who have cared for Charlie and kept him comfortable and stable for so long.
We would also like to thank everybody who has supported us, including all the people here about us today.".
The statement went on, "This is one of the hardest things we will ever have to say and we are about to do the hardest thing we will ever have to do which is to let our beautiful little Charlie go.
Put simply, this is about a sweet, gorgeous, innocent little boy who was born with a rare disease who had a real, genuine chance at life and a family who loved him so very dearly – and that's why we fought so hard for him.".
An Ethics Professor Said 'Lessons Must Be Learned' From the Charlie Gard Case. University of Oxford professor of medical ethics, Dominic Wilkinson, said in a statement, via the Daily Mirror, that "lessons must be learned" from the Charlie Gard case.
Following further medical assessment of Charlie by several international experts, Charlie's parents and doctors finally reached agreement that continuing life support and experimental treatment could not help him. There are important lessons to learn from this case.
Where agreement cannot be reached, there is an important role for the courts in helping to reach a decision. However, court review of cases like this is not ideal.
It is adversarial, costly, and lengthy. In this case, Charlie has received months of treatment that doctors and nurses caring for him felt was doing him more harm than good.
We need to find better ways to avoid cases of disagreement from coming to court. There is an important role for mediation to help parents and doctors where they have reached an impasse.
We also need a fair, expedient way of resolving disputes. This would mean that patients can access early experimental treatment if there is a reasonable chance that it would not cause significant harm.

The aim behind these sex robots is to create something as lifelike as possible, but when it comes to their personalities the robots do not represent real women.
OPINION: Just when you thought 2017 couldnt get any weirder along comes a new report on the technological developments in the sex robot sector. Yep. Sex robots are a big deal right now.
Recently, the Foundation for Responsible Robotics (FRR) released a report looking at the development of sex robots over the next five to 10 years.
According to Noel Sharkey, emeritus professor of robotics and artificial intelligence at the University of Sheffield and co-founder of the FRR, we need to start taking their rise seriously.
People snigger about them, but they [the companies] are actually shipping quite a lot and we are going to see them a lot more, Sharkey said at the launch of the new report.
Modern sex dolls have evolved out of their blow-up counterparts into robots with a silicon skin that is warm to the touch – with deliberately human-like responses achieved by artificial intelligence.
The RealDolls and other sex robots can be customised, according to traits the user finds appealing. The user can also customise their robot to suit their persuasions, choosing everything from the robots eye colour, nipple shape to fingernail type or colour.
But it gets even more disturbing, with many of the robots possessing personalities that would make a Stepford Wife look progressive. The RealBotix robot, for example, allows users to customise their robots according to the traits they find appealing, such as shyness.
Then there are the Roxxxy Gold sex robots, developed by True Companion, which come with pre-programmed personalities, including Frigid Farrah that gives the impression of shyness and Wild Wendy with an adventurous personality.
Roxxxy Gold has a personality which is matched as much as possible to your personality, the True Companion website enthuses.
So she likes what you like, dislikes what you dislike, etc. She also has moods during the day just like real people! She can be sleepy, conversational or she can be in the mood!.
Customers can choose the robots eye colour, nipple shape and fingernail type.
There are many disturbing aspects to the rise of sex robots – not least of which is the replacement of real, human relationships – but the subservient female traits, the rapey connotations of making a move on Frigid (read: resistant) Farrah, are the most concerning.
On its website, True Companion likened Roxxxy to a vibrator, but for men. If woman (sic) can have a vibrator, why cant men have a Roxxxy? the website states. However, these sex robots are not a mere fetish or just another sex toy.
Their emergence and increasing sophistication points to something darker and deeper within our culture, a retreat from the ideal of gender equality toward a desire for sex with subjugation as an optional add-on.
Most men, naturally, are not going to keep sex robots, and while the FRR noted their increasing popularity, they remain, for now, on the outskirts of consumer culture.
But what seeps in from the fringes can be highly instructive as to the tenor of the era were living in. And many people arent weird or offensive until the free market gives them the permission to be so.
There is little coincidence that these sophisticated sex robots have emerged at a time when womens rights are under threat across the globe, when there is a president in the White House who has bragged about sexually assaulting women.
The most chilling aspect of the TV series The Handmaids Tale isnt the graphic imagery, the noosed bodies and gouged eyes, but just how realistic that vision feels.
The Republic of Gilead is a leap, but, right now, it doesnt feel like a large one.
The aim behind these sex robots is to create as much of a physical likeness to actual women (albeit with porn star proportions) as technologically possible.
Their creators want them to feel human to the touch, for them to mimic the movement of a real body.
But, pointedly, when it comes to their personalities the robots do not represent real women. They cannot break up with their companion, or walk out.
They have no agency or back-story, nothing to suggest independence or anything that may disrupt the fantasy of total servitude. They are pleasant slaves, in other words. Or to put it into 2017 parlance: handmaidens.

doing this you're going to start noticing things to change and what you
may start to notice is something that many of us notice and that is the people
around you start to push back they start to subconsciously sabotage what you're
doing now this could be negative comments like oh you'll never do that or
you shouldn't be doing that or what the heck are you doing these types of
comments come naturally and it should be understood you see people are
comfortable with the old you they're comfortable with the you that doesn't
have a voice they're comfortable with the you that didn't take control and be
the author of their own story now you're on this path this path of change this
path of rapid growth it's exciting you're changing but their paradigm is
still stuck on the old you you see oftentimes people are uncomfortable with
change they have a story written about you I mean how many times when you look
back on your life do you run into maybe an old high school friend or or somebody
else you went to college with or something you knew years ago you still
might have the same frame of reference of that person now this happened to me
recently where I ran to somebody I went to college with and I haven't seen them
probably in 15 years now they were a partier they had a great time going out
but they really hit it hard and when I ran into I thought of them as the exact
same person now step four or 15 years later they have a family
they're very responsible they don't drink do drugs or party at all they're
completely different person yes my paradigm was stuck in the past
asked old them until I realized quickly in my actions in my comments towards
them that I was relating to the old version of them the version I knew and
was comfortable with now we may move through this very quickly but most
people don't most people don't have the realization that you can change that you
are changing you're evolving all the time and what it does is it scares them
and it scares them for multiple reasons this is also why a lot of people fail on
their own journey to becoming the author of their own story because they know
themselves as the old them now when you do a change or you do some changes in
your life these could be prosperity changes you start to make more money but
yet the people around you are comfortable with you being kind of a
broke old self that you had and now you have more prosperity and wealth or maybe
you're learning a foreign language and they're scared that you're becoming
better than them and that you're going to leave them or more unlikely they're
scared because you're putting into their face through your positive actions the
things that they are not doing now the things that they want to be doing with
their life but they're making excuses and seeing you grow scares them it
scares them because one they're probably worried they're going to lose you too
they're really scared because they're not doing the things they know they
should be doing to become the authors of their own story but don't let these
people tear you down as dr. Wayne Dyer said it's not crowded on the extra mile
and that is so true as you're on your journey it's not crowded on the extra
mile because people that have scarcity mindsets aren't there my wife and I go
hiking all the time and oftentimes we kind of begrudgingly make it through the
first 10 minutes of our hike where all the crowds of people are but once we get
past that first mile or two the crowds dissipate in fact once we get higher up
the mountain we hardly see anybody the people we do run into are always smiling
they always say hello and generally ask how we're doing because it's that type
of people that are at the top it's that type of person that takes that extra
step to get there and those are the kind of people you want to surround yourself
with now this doesn't mean that you should be putting them down the people
who are currently associating with other people
around you and also doesn't mean you should leave them it just means you need
to recognize understand that they're in a scarcity mindset they're scared
because they're not doing the right things they've also associated you
associated you with the old you the old you that they're comfortable with you
see they're very comfortable with you being in a job you don't like or making
little money or whatever it is for you maybe you're overweight and they're just
comfortable with that and they're scared that you're going to make changes you're
going to make changes you're going to leave them or they're scared you're
going to make changes and they're going to see that they're not making any
they're not progressing themselves it's just a natural human reaction so I want
you to recognize this as you're going through your journey who've almost tapes
72 these daily grow tacks that's a lot of things to do if you've
done all the 70 things that I've brought out here and mentioned to you I
guarantee you've made massive changes and I'm proud of you and then during
these changes I could also guarantee that there have been people in your life
at your workplace in your family loved ones friends that have actually started
to subconsciously tear you down you see they've noticed the changes and it makes
them uncomfortable it's not familiar they don't recognize that it's a new you
you're learning every day you're growing every day and you're going after your
passions in your dreams I'm proud of you and I'm here right now
let you know this is not a red flag this is just simply a bread crumb on the road
to success it's natural when it happens often the best thing to do is love these
people love them wholeheartedly and then lead by example
show them your greatness show them what you're doing and inspire them to do the
same that's one of the reasons I do this every single day is to inspire others
look my mission is to inspire positively impact 1 million people in this world
and I hope I'm doing this day by day little by little and eventually I'll
achieve my goal you can help me by doing the same inspire those around you and
don't worry about the haters the haters are going to come left and right and
most of them are going are going to be people you actually love and care and
you know what they love you too they're just scared so what I want you
to do today is grab your journal write out your 5 to thrive a course
and look at areas that you're growing that you're making growth and what I
want you to do is look closely at these because often times we don't see the own
growth in ourselves we don't see our own journey because we see ourselves
day-to-day in the mirror and those micro progressions make the biggest effect
over time we still recognize them and usually we see this growth or these
changes when we run into an old friend of the supermarket or out for a walk or
whatever it may be and they see us they're like wow you've changed you've
lost weight you're glowing something's radiant about you what is it
that's when we noticed but I want you to grab your v to thrive and write down
areas that you've changed but then I also want to write you to write down any
negative comment you've had recently as you've been on this growth spurt I want
you to look at that comment and embrace it because it's not true
these are comments from people of scarcity these are comments for people
who are scared to make it that extra mile you know so it's not crowded on the
extra mile because only good achievers high achievers make it that extra mile
that take that extra step most people break down because the old
them the paradigm of the old M is too powerful I want you to recognize this
new you this path that you're on it's powerful and I celebrate you for being

Obdulia Sanchez is accused of killing her own sister in a car crash in California while streaming a graphic Instagram video that she allegedly narrated with comments such as, "I killed my sister, but I don't care.
The crash killed Sanchez' sister, Jacquelin, 14. Another teenager, Manuela Seja, also 14, suffered a non life-threatening injury during the crash, which occurred in Los Banos, California on July 21.
Sanchez is accused of being under the influence while driving and streaming on social media.
The Instagram video kept streaming after the crash too, capturing its graphic aftermath as Sanchez allegedly spoke to the camera. You can watch the video below, but be aware that it's disturbing.
On Facebook, Obdulia posed with a gun in her profile picture and called herself a "psycho" and "homegurl." She says she's a former model who lives in Stockton, California and is originally from San Jose.
Known as "Lula," Obdulia had just graduated from high school.
A photo Obdulia Sanchez posted on Facebook. The parents of both Obdulia and Jacquelin have spoken out to ABC30 and say Obdulia needs help. "I don't know how to feel.
My one daughter killed my other daughter," the father of both victim and suspect said to the television station's Sontaya Rose. Here's what you need to know:.

The horrific video is very disturbing and shows the dead girl lying on the ground as her sister speaks to the camera.
According to Fox 40, "Investigators are looking into the graphic video that may have been filmed by Obdulia Sanchez prior to and during the fatal crash. The live video, originally posted to Instagram, was circulated on social media.".
In the video, Sanchez, 18, allegedly says, according to Fox 40, "Jacquelin, please wake up.
I f****** killed my sister, OK? I know I'm going to jail for life." She also allegedly says, "I love my sister… this is the last thing I thought was going to happen to us." The video starts with a normal driving scene before chaos results.
In one especially grim moment, Sanchez is accused of also saying, "I killed my sister, but I don't care. I killed my sister. I know I'm going to prison, but I don't care. I'm a hold it down.".

The extremely disturbing original and unedited video shows the dead teen's body on the ground after the crash. It's still circulating on YouTube and Facebook. However, be aware that it's very troubling to watch.
There's also an earlier video from inside the car before the crash. In an interview with ABC30, Obdulia's father, Nicandro Sanchez, said, "It's an accident. It happened that way.
The television station said both parents believe Obdulia needs "help," with the father adding, "I think she doesn't know what happened. What I think is she knows she's done something wrong. Because she knows, and that's what I feel.
She feels bad for herself, but she killed her own sister." (Note: The sister's name was given by most sites as Jacqueline initially, but local news reporters who spoke to the family now say it's Jacquelin.).
The Car Rolled Into a Barbed Wire Fence & an Earlier Post Spoke About Driving While on Snapchat.
Police accused Sanchez of causing the crash. ABC30's Sontaya Rose reported that "Sanchez is refusing to talk to CHP investigators about Friday's deadly crash near Los Banos.
Investigators say they asked her what happened and read her her Miranda Rights. She did not answer any questions.
Officers say the suspect had picked up a friend in Fresno (third person in crash, backseat passenger- who survived) and was heading back to Stockton.
Right now, it's unclear what the suspect may have been drinking/using at the time of crash." The reporter also posted an earlier photo (above) that carries the caption, "When you almost crashed because you're on Snapchat.".

Obdulia Sanchez was "under the influence when she rolled her car over, into a barbed wire fence and then a field," police say, according to ABC30.
Fresno Bee reported that the victim, Jacquelin Sanchez, "wasn't wearing a seatbelt when she was ejected through the back window of a white Buick Century as it crashed and rolled over off the south end of Henry Miller Road, east of Mercey Springs Road.".
According to The Fresno Bee, Obdulia Sanchez is accused of over correcting a turn.
"The driver over-corrected the turn, which caused the vehicle to swerve across both lanes, crashing through a wire fence and overturning into a field south of the road," the newspaper reported.
Police initially had not yet confirmed the video's authenticity but were investigating it, according to The Fresno Bee. However, Buzzfeed reports, police now say they are "absolutely" using the video in the case.

Other photos show her in a bikini. In one recent post, she called herself a "psycho," writing, "My friend gon ask me: 'why you single b*tch?' My resonse (sic): 'B*tch I'm f*cking phsyco (sic).' I thought you knew…….".
She recently posted about her 18th birthday, using a racial slur. "BIG 18 in April ;) Party Party Party like a (slur edited out) just got out of jail. Hml on my 18th BDay.
In another post, she wrote, "I get locked up and (racial slur edited out) get girlfriends and go back to they babies mamas. Lmfao Weak as' f*cckkk.".
She calls herself "money queen" on Instagram. In 2015, a post on her Facebook page read, "F*ck lazy (racial slur removed).
