Hi guys! I'm here in São Paulo,
more specifically at the Batman Alley
And it's full of bloggers around here!
This is an alley
which had nothing going on until a few years ago
until some artists started coming here
painting these murals
And today it's an attraction
For me, Batman Alley is super special because
it was my way home every day
No one knew about this
So I would drive in these tiny streets
and suddenly there was colorful graffiti all over
Recently they've
closed to traffic, it became...
they added a sign saying Batman's Alley,
It became a real attraction
I saw the sign and I was shocked!
Yeah... It's even in English, did you see it?
Really? I haven't seen it! Where's the sign?
Out there! It's in English!
It's called "Batman's Alley" because I think
there was a Batman here, right?
That's what they say, no one really knows...
There was a Batman...
No, there's another one over there
There, there's a Batman over there
There was a fat Batman!
Yeah, right? Also one with a child face...
What was that? A graffiti?
Yeah, a Batman graffiti, right here...
In the 80's, right?
One of the first graffitis here
Oh guys! I found Batman! Look over there!
Right there!
On weekends everything is closed
It's full of people drinking, eating,...
There are some events over there
with food stalls and such
And there are certain times of the year
Carnival is crowded
There are about 2 months of Carnival
So there are parades before and after Carnival
in Vila Madalena, downtown, and in Pinheiros
basically and here it gets all crowded
every day at night... So...
Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
And apart from Carnival there are food events,
there are events in the neighborhood... It get's busy
Anyways... And on weekends it's always crowded
Everybody comes here,
a lot of tourists. It's very famous.
Does anyone know if these murals change
from time to time?
Always! Always! A guy comes and...
Do you already have a favorite?
I have one which is the
"Maybe you're already happy and don't even know"
Loved it! Loved it!
The birds over there are my favorites
The favorite graffiti is this one behind us
There's a constellation, a bull,...
Taurus, my zodiac sign, don't know if that's why!
Mine too!
Wow, it would be so crazy
everyone doing something different
and several photos, got it?
So cool!
Then we post everything on Pinterest
to create one single mural
Yeah!!!
Guys, that's it
I'm spending the week here in Sao Paulo
So there are other places coming up
The day was very productive
We had a workshop with Pinterest,
a plataform I love!
And I learned a lot, I got lots of tips,
feel free to ask if you're interested
And here today... It's because of this event
That I'm here in Sao Paulo
This is WTM Latin América,
the largest travel trade show in Latin America
It's really good for you to learn
what the destinations are planning,
what's new!
First class flying Emirates...
Not!
Look at this guys!
In first class you usually get
some travel kits
Look at how many they offer here! Three!
Guys, party time!
"Turistando com a Lu" travel blog
Today I'm at Eataly in São Paulo
I didn't even have breakfast to tell you the truth!
What we're doing today is a really cool project
which is simply called the "Eataly tour",
where we share a little of what we do,
we explain the departments,
how we came up with the idea, etc., our philosophy
I am Italian, I'm from Milan
This is my third store, I've been here for 2 years
and I have followed up closely since the opening
Chocolate time!
We are a place of culture based on 3 pillars:
The pillars of buying, eating, and learning
So that's exactly it
The idea is that you come in and see
our departments where we prepare everything by hand
Everything in sight...
And you can learn something
without having to talk to anyone
It's all very visual
He's making the mozzarella right here!
I'm the cheese guy, always,
everywhere I go
So to have the opportunity to see the guy preparing
pasta filata the way it is,
lifting that sheet to make a burrata...
Very few places in Brazil have this, right?
Cheese with nutella!
So good!
I thought that mortadella was super delicate, delicious
So I think that
whoever wants to understand more about mortadella,
sausages, and cheeses, it's worth coming here
to Eataly to check it out
The verdict?
It's great!
Italian food is regional,
it's incredibly rich in products that
change from season to season
So it's very similar to Brazil
It's our bread, made with a yeast
It's a 16-year-old yeast
It came by plane
So it's very, very cool
And a biological flour, cooked in the wood oven
If you go to Eataly in Milan,
you'll find a little bit of everything
So you will find the sauce from the North,
the sauce from the South, a beer
from a small producer's village
So it brings a lot of awareness to Italians
This is the idea behind Eataly
So it's of not a big tourist place
That was not the idea, the idea is much more complex,
It's to talk a little bit about the variety,
the regionality of Italian food
We deserve it, right?
I think Eataly's concept of
eating, learning, and buying is very cool
I recommend you to come
not only to visit Eataly,
but also for the tour because
you can have another view of the place
Something very cool here at Eataly
is that the food is very regional Italian
We are trying here the whole menu
The largest Italian community outside Italy
is here in Sao Paulo
That's exactly why
we decided opening in Sao Paulo because
it's an Italian city whether you like it or not
So it was like a thank-you
for all this Italian community
We left Eataly and came straight to the show
And it turned out that I didn't even share the experience
So here you go: you eat something
and it tastes totally different
from what you imagined
Real Italian ingredients
It's a very familiar feeling to get in
every Eataly around the world
But they all have local things
So you can differentiate
Some products you will only find
in that specific Eataly
It's fantastic!
And today, the WTM tour around the world continues!
It's a pleasure to be here in Brazil
We'll serve three types of wine
Guys, leave Eataly and come taste wines
here at the Chile stand...
Look how wonderful! It's my day, huh?
When they began bringing grapes from Europe
to the new continent, Chile in this case,
French producers, oenologists...
One of them ended up realizing that
it was really the carménère grape, extinct in Europe
that was rediscovered in Chile
Chi-chi-chi-le-le-le! Hurray Chile!
It is a typical Taiwanese tradition
specially during New Years and it brings luck!
Well, the week was full of meetings
I'm full of ideas for new projects,
new trips... So I'll close
this trip to São Paulo
in a way I love:
going for a bike tour
This group here offers several free tours
They have various itineraries
I chose "Sao Paulo's new downtown"
And to participate, just bring
2 kg (about 4 1/2 lb) of non-perishable food
"Crackland" is back there
In the complex there's a cultural area
Downstairs there are
theater, music, dance presentations
It's a very cool tour!
You stop too, you don't get tired,
there's a guide, he explains everything
Alone I wouldn't go to several of these places
where we passed
So with them I felt much safer
Well, I hope you guys liked it!
