Good morning! It's... summer!
It's really warm and the sun is shining, it's really nice.
There's wind, but the wind is warm.
It's so incredibly nice outside.
I mean, it's June 7 and
it is supposed to be warm, but we just hadn't had any nice weather.
Today we have rice pudding as supper.
Good night. (Good night!)
A horde of (non-biting) midges is annoying us
as they do everyday at 12 am,
thus we made a little competition out of not moving.
The bet is the breakfast
at Hamburg in two days.
We already know where we are going to have breakfast.
And that's the bet.
The one that moves first has to pay the breakfast. (Yes.)
One last time.
Three.
Two.
No
One!
Fine.
It's crazy, when you stop moving you feel them settling down on your face and moving around.
I feel the tic tic tic on my arm.
Omg! (Karin, have a scratch!)
Imagine how it will be when you have a scratch.
Aaah!
Yeees! Have you lost?
Yes, I've lost.
Omg, look at my pants.
That felt really horrible.
This plate is a bit of pesto and the rest is midges.
Hello!
We spent the last two days in this place.
It was really nice.
Almost no wind and really warm.
Only sunshine.
But we were placed in the shadow.
The sun is rising there and moves like this.
A wonderful place.
Tomorrow morning we'll get up at 2 am,
that's the time we normally get up.
(Yes!)
And then we'll take the ferry at 3.20 am.
Why do we take the ferry that early?
Karins dad lives in Belgium
and will arrive at Brussels Airport at 9 am.
We'll meet him there.
Bye!
Afterwards we'll drive to Hamburg,
because I'll fly to Vienna in two days.
My grandmother is celebrating her 70th birthday
and... (Happy birthday!)
She bribed me with paying my flight.
Thus I can't decline that chance,
I miss Vienna a bit, to be honest
no matter how nice we have it here
Vienna is really beautiful.
Another small problem is that we have pounds left.
50 pounds approximately.
We have to spend them somehow
but we can't spend it on fuel
because it's already full
that's why we'll go to Tesco tomorrow morning.
It's opening at midnight.
We'll take advantage of that and will get there at 2 am.
We'll spend our money there and get some provisions.
So, we'll see each other again in the night,
therefore we'll go to bed now already.
(Good night!) Good night.
Morning. It's 2.15 am
We packed up and we're driving to Tesco now.
It's Monday half past 2 am and we are going shopping.
Someone came from the motorway to the roundabout,
one can see it very well, first he struck the ground
then up in the air and there he struck the ground again
there's a really deep scratch
and then up there
and into the bushes.
Good morning, it's 3 am now.
and we met fellow adventurers
who drove their car from Japan all the way to England.
That's so cool.
We just met a couple from Japan
with a beige Mercedes G class
and I asked them whether they shipped the car
to Europe
and they replied 'no, we drove, from Japan'
and they've got a map on their website
That's really impressive.
We're on the ferry and found a quiet spot
where we can get some sleep.
There are other people sleeping too as we're in middle of the night.
Outside you can see the moon.
We arrived already!
As always when it's raining, we have to clean our windscreen
because the windscreen wipers only work
when the screen is perfectly clean from flies.
Only then there's an acceptable outcome.
It stopped raining a while ago but the puddle is still there.
We just stopped at a rest area
and there's a yacht 'sleeping'
that will probably continue it's way in the night.
As an attachment point they just took the cleats that are already there.
We can finally charge our battery.
Good evening,
we arrived at the campsite.
As you know, we got up at 2 am and drove to the ferry
we met my dad and had breakfast with him
then we walked through Leuven
and since then we drove a lot
to get to Hamburg.
Our day has been so long, it's 9 pm now
we got up at 2 am, we're a bit exhausted.
We already had dinner and set up the tent
we'll have a shower now
and tomorrow we'll be all fresh again.
Good evening,
we drove more than 800 km today
it was a nice day, we did a lot
but now it's time to go to sleep.
(Good night!) Good night!
Good morning.
That's a really cool camp site
one is placed right in the sand
and a tractor pulls the caravans to their position
because normal cars can't drive here.
But we can.
Yesterday we went straight from Brussels to Hamburg and had no chance to stick on the flags.
Now we stick Belgium and the Netherlands on.
I just checked in for my flight to Vienna
now it is getting realistic
that I'll fly tomor… - eh today!
We'll have breakfast now at a very nice place.
As soon as the rain has stopped.
Let's see.
We can go while it's raining.
Afterwards I'll pack my things.
Good morning.
We charge our battery with the external charger
- the battery we use for the lights and for charging the MacBook -
and on this camp site one kWh is 63 c
and we payed 56 c for charging our empty battery
and our phones, and the camera batteries, and ...
that's really cheap.
And what did we pay to use it?
1,50 € for using the facility.
But we have to say that we got an adapter to use for free
and a cable drum with several sockets.
So we can really recommend Elbe Camping in Hamburg.
Dani, where are we going?
We are driving to the airport
and I'll drop myself off.
Yes, because you want to drive a last time.
We're at the airport now, that's my luggage.
I'll leave a lot in Vienna.
There we go.
