FalleN: "Well, it's very cool to have come, despite our defeat,
I'm glad, I think it was an important step for us, to spread even more the Brazilian csgo.
I'm glad, I think it was an important step for us, to spread even more the Brazilian csgo.
Although the results were not as good as we expected,
I believe that we at least got a little bit of attention
I believe that we at least got a little bit of attention
and we hope that there will be more investment there for us in South America,
and we hope that there will be more investment there for us in South America,
not only for the brazilians but for people from Argentina, from Chile,
we deserve a little more attention in the tournaments from there...
we deserve a little more attention in the tournaments from there...
So, being back after so much time off, I think it showed me that we still have a lot to learn.
So, being back after so much time off, I think it showed me that we still have a lot to learn.
So, being back after so much time off, I think it showed me that we still have a lot to learn.
I think as a team, when you come to play here,
you realize that you need to be more organized.
Your team needs to be more organized.
Although we tried to do this in Brazil,
Although we tried to do this in Brazil,
practicing this only in the championship is hard so we hope to come more prepared next time."

FALL FASHION TRENDS TO ROCK IN 2017 WITH STACY LONDON!!! - Duration: 9:17.
hi guys and welcome to my youtube channel today I have Stacy London here
and we are going to be showing you three outfits that you have to rock this fall fashion trends 2017
I'm Stacy London I am working with the Massini brands from Meijer that you can find
admire stores and we are you know trying to update the brand a little bit which I
absolutely love like I'm actually wearing one of the shirts from the Maya
line and is so comfortable and she has a top on - that's coming out this fall
yeah and I saw it on her and I was like kidding
so what's incredible right I mean one of the things that I think is a big issue
you know when we talk about massini as a brand a tire is what the identity of the
branch be and one of the things that we wanted to do with Massini is you know
first of all we have every size on the rack from small to three which I like
that and I love that because to me that creates a sense of community and you
know shopping with your best friend if you're not the same size is still
possible shopping with my mom and one of the things that we wanted to do was make
the brand feel relevant in terms of the styling like you look gorgeous in this
Basha velvet ink and I love that you paired it with the Western baseball cap
um and you know the difference is that you can wear something like this you
know and be this gorgeous 30 year old but I can do this you know and I'm 48 so
the line actually has a lot of kind of diversity and versatility at your
facility clearly versatility is a better word feat Meijer shopper more options
you know when you come in and you know you're going to buy groceries we want
you to feel like the apparel is part of that shopping experience I love that I
love that us makes things so easy and convenient absolutely and then you know
we're very conscious about price points like we wanted yeah you're making that
you I like to do that's one thing I love because when I mentioned it to my
viewers right talk to my favorites like my grandma when I was her in that bomber
jacket she was oh my god that's so cute I was wearing earlier you guys will see
it but I was like you can pick it up at Meijer she's like my urns she didn't
even believe me and I was like no I'm messing kidding you and yes it is
recited about well that's great and that's your
grandmother all right so I'll show to be able to anybody anybody think so that's
very important to me like I don't believe that style has anything to do
with youth or being thin or age right so you can laugh style at any of those
moments in your life the idea is to find a line that can accommodate every single
every single woman who worships um and I think that you know again the way we
style things is also about our personal identity the way what we want to say to
the world and so we want this line to have that kind of versatility and be I
hope you get your grandmother's a jacket because I think that way oh no oh well
then there's a couple other pieces I just wow I love this I wouldn't be able
to find this somewhere else and I like that be able to find a really quality
piece right while you're grocery shopping yeah that's awesome I love I
mean I'm so happy that you love it also you just told me that you have three
kids and you're about to adopt another one from China I know how for children I
mean then you know budget is really important Oh charlie you know if this is
your occupation where you are right and you want to look good on your YouTube
channel and your how the isle and already then you want to be able to do
that in an affordable way as I will be able to switch things up and one thing
that you know I feel very strongly that is that you should be able to buy one
piece and have it go with like three different things I love it right if you
buy a piece and it's like this really loud piece that you don't you can't do
anything with you where one time but I won special occasion that one day like
man I can't to me that kind of versatility is so important in a day and
age where you know we have to be careful what we're spending our money on Oh Toto
because if you have four kids what is one color that you feel like you
gravitate towards the most or you feel like when you're creating this line
you're like man this is the color that just keeps popping up into my mind I
know you have a lot of color and you have so much going on that it's awesome
there one particular color you're like this is mr. Farlow well you know the
pink that you're wearing I think you know it's definitely been in the design
notes for a while and that doesn't make it bad I really I love it on you and
there there are just a few people who can't rock it but for the most part I
think it's pretty versatile I am really looking forward to pieces
that are brighter in the machining line you're going to see red which i think is
wonderful yeah yeah you're and also it's not just color that I'm attracted to I'm
attracted to detail so embroidery for me is really important during their I think
a lot of company is black on detail yeah that's the one place where people skin
yes absolutely and like and combining details so like this is a lace
sweatshirt basically and I rather the elastic cuff and I think those are the
types of details that we're starting to really focus on and the idea that you
can mix something so feminine like lace with something more athletic inspired
that may not be the first thing you think identity right but then it will
work with jeans and you could also dress it up with like a skirt or you know
Guardian even wear like a tight black legging absolutely and one of the things
that we were thinking about is again that attention to detail so you'll see
we did an army jacket which again is a staple in your closet I love an army
jacket because it's great for summer it's like three season summer spring
involved right but we added a sequin pocket and we added sequin pockets to
our t-shirts just a little bit of detail that doesn't make it harder for you to
wear doesn't matter what age you are doesn't change the shape of it but gives
it a little bit more visual interest so that you can you know have fun with it
but the challenge is to be on a budget and still feel as stylish and as
relevant and that is my goal for you and for all missing customer which is
awesome that is absolutely awesome stuff that we want you want quality which is
no one's a great price absolutely I mean you know this is it's not like and you
know this is something that's like revolutionary I really believe that AM
style should come at every budget because the way you carry yourself in
the self-esteem and the confidence you have I'm not only your kids see that but
everybody around you seems absolutely I like the convenience of being at a
grocery store and not having to go them because I am yo me pulling the kids out
of their van let's be real now so really struggle especially for momma
so like if I'm already out of the car and
and pick up something that I like highlight that convenience and I think
it's a great place to be I mean the line keeps evolving like she was talking
about and I went there in the shoe collection are you kidding me I haven't
about those shoes turned out I saw like this buzzy slipper while I was like
you're kidding me I almost walked out with them the other day and I'm
definitely going to be going back and when you wore that jacket a little bit
ago I was like it's in Nepal and I was like I kind of want that now yeah he's
in pieces so what you're going to wind up seeing is a lot of the stuff that you
see in fall you're going to be able to have in your closet for a long time and
that's another thing not just cost per wear but longevity and that speaks to
the quality so in some of the pieces I definitely can see like you keep up with
trends but you also have some timelessness to some of your keeping
what are you gettin because I mean lace even if you have that varsity tough
places time and velvet also so things may go in and out but if you already
have them in your closet then you don't need to go out and find something else
right so the idea that you know something like lace embroidery velvet
but you know a certain set of colors that are you know again one may be more
popular than another in any given season but then they always come back fresh I'm
so this is a way to kind of create a wardrobe that you can build on and that
you can you know easily buy one piece and still use everything you've got from
the last season and I think that kind of versatility is also super important and
I was just thinking about you trying to get your now three kids but your event
that's alright is that like herding cats in a parking lot I mean it you think
when you when you have your grocery card it's kind of interesting you know
because I've seen it you know like daycare younger sister everybody has to
hold the Rope yeah right intense yet but I do I've seen like shoppers have two
curts like you've pushed to like one for the children and one for the or you
could have like a three connection like a little train I kind of okay we just
came up hello okay so Meijer get on the bottom eight attachable hearts that
would be fun yeah that's brilliant I need to speak with him immediately I
know right I mean I wonder if we can like copyright that
or trade market or something love it that's awesome
very cool so if you guys want to check out the Messina line it is going to be
at your local Meijer and all three of the pieces that you follow me Stiles
they're all at your local mines pick them up super affordable some of the
pieces themselves may not be there yet but don't be discouraged because fall is
on the way and you know some of the things that you've seen here today that
Myka is wearing will be available very soon which I'm super excited about FM on
all right guys talk to you soon bye

Why We Work | Presented by MetLife - Duration: 2:43.
The American Dream still means
achieving goals,
pursuing your own individual goals,
but the definition of those goals
has really broadened.
Today people crave a sense of security
from work.
They want to know that they can
show up some place
where they're known,
and they can count on good work
and count on a steady paycheck,
but they also want to be inspired,
they want to feel creative,
they want to feel a real,
deep sense of purpose.
I started working at the age of fourteen
and I moved out at sixteen years old.
Work is more than just a paycheck for me.
It's a way of life
and helps build my confidence
and provide me with the freedom
that I need
to take care of myself and my family.
My family came to the United States
for better opportunities,
and for me, I was very privileged in
going to the school that I attended.
Now that I work there,
I have a chance to show
the children and show the students
that it's really important to give back
to your communities
in whatever form you can.
My daughter is a huge
motivating factor in all of it.
I want to show her
that to have things in life,
you need to work for those things.
If I'm being honest,
I want to work as hard as I can,
as fast as I can,
make the most money that I can,
so that I can retire
and move on to doing the things that I love.
The silver lining
of the 2008 economic decline
was that it really helped people
get real about their debt.
They're making different choices about
the kinds of jobs they're taking on.
And they're realizing that
it's not status and stuff
that make the meaningful life,
but fulfilling work
and relationships with
the people you love.
One of the main things
that motivates me to work is
my father was a small business owner.
In 2008, he nearly lost his business.
The things that we went through
as a family, and the tough times,
is what really motivates me to make sure
that other families
don't have to go through that.
People are looking for jobs
where they find creativity, flexibility,
a sense of ownership in their work,
and some financial support
beyond just the paycheck.
When employers understand
what really drives their employees,
they get better productivity,
they get increased engagement,
and they get real, deep, genuine loyalty.
Honoring people's
deeper motivations for work
means you attract more talented people,
you attract people with
a range of skills and great networks,
and they bring all of that
to the organization.
In this rapidly evolving workforce,
the businesses that
thrive are going to be the ones
that honor the deeper motivations
for people showing up at work.
It's not just good for workers,
it means success
for the organization as a whole.

I'm Going to SitC! The Summer in the City Tag | Kate's Adventures - Duration: 5:28.
Hi everyone! As you can see I'm back in my natural habitat.
If you're a regular on my channel you might know already that I went to VidCon recently
and I made a ton of vlogs and now I'm back in my home and back to regular content...for at least a week.
You see, I have another little announcement to make.
I'm going to Summer in the City! And that's a similar event to VidCon,
it's held in London, it's going to be on from August 4th to August 6th
and I'm so excited to go to that and meet everybody and just generally have an awesome time.
I've heard so so much about SitC and I'm excited to go there and experience it for myself.
So I would love it if people came over and said Hi to me, I'd love to meet as many people as possible.
Even if you don't watch the channel, you know, I still like speaking to people, just getting to know everybody.
That'd be really really cool, but the one thing I would say is I can be a bit of a shy person
and I don't want that to hold me back, so I thought to break the ice today
I would tell you a bit more about me with the Summer in the City tag.
So the first thing I have to do is introduce myself. Hi everyone, my name's Kate
and I have a channel called Kate's Adventures. As the name suggests, my channel is about adventures.
I make vlogs when I go to really exciting places like Summer in the City and VidCon
and when I'm at home, not really up to very much, I talk about my more everyday adventures.
Sometimes they're things like experiences that I've had or just something new that I'm trying.
Every day can be an adventure if you try hard enough so that's what my channel is about.
What days are you attending Summer in the City? Okay, I have a little bit of a confession to make here.
I haven't actually bought my ticket yet so I would like to go everyday
but that's totally totally dependent on the tickets not selling out before I buy my ticket
so fingers crossed for me guys, I would like to be there Friday, Saturday and Sunday,
if I'm not there Friday, Saturday and Sunday I will be in the general area somewhere so look out for me maybe.
So the next question is what am I most excited for at Summer in the City?
And I have to be honest, it's the people who are going there.
And that sounds a little weird but I think it's so cool to be in a room with so many like-minded people.
Either people who watch YouTube or people who make YouTube videos as well, that's really really awesome.
So I'm so excited to meet other creators, meet other people who understand YouTube,
I think it's gonna be really really fun. When I went to VidCon I had a day where I seemed to
spend a lot of time talking to other creators and I got some of them on my vlog
and I have to be honest, that is my most favorite travel vlog that I've made so far.
Because it really helped to capture the event and capture the excitement and the energy
and the diversity of what it means to be a YouTube creator as well which was really really awesome.
So I'd love to do something similar at Summer in the City. If any of you see me vlogging
and want to say hello and tell me about yourself, that would be really really cool.
Have I ever been to Summer in the City before? No I haven't.
In fact, until last month I'd never been to a convention before.
So if you have any tips for a newbie, let me know.
Am I going with anybody to Summer in the City?
Technically the answer is no. I'm going to be traveling alone, staying alone
but I reckon that I'm going to meet a load of people at the event,
I know a ton of people who are going so although I'm not going with anybody
I don't think I'm going to be lonely which is really cool.
The next question is which guests are you most excited about seeing at Summer in the City?
And to be honest it's not really a very long list for me.
Like I said these events are more about the people for me
and the only really big YouTuber that I watch is Evan Edinger
so it'd be really cool if I got to see him at some point but if I don't, it's cool.
I'm really there more to meet other creators and things so
I'm not really gonna be like screaming and chasing people. At least I don't plan to be, you never know really.
Will I be filming? Yes, absolutely! I love sharing my adventures with YouTube.
So if you see me around, feel free to say Hi,
maybe tell me an interesting story and you might end up on my vlog.
And the last question is how can people find me at Summer in the City?
And to be honest I don't really know. I'm not going to be wearing anything distinctive, at least I don't plan to,
I'm just going to be wandering around vlogging so feel free to come and say hi if you see me.
If you don't see me and you wanting to see me,
feel free to tweet me and we can figure out something from there.
And that was the Summer in the City tag. If you're watching this and you're also going to SitC,
I'm tagging you because I want to hear your answers to these questions as well.
And if you're not going to Summer in the City
but you have any advice for being confident when approaching somebody for the first time,
let me know down below because that's something I could really do with working on.
Thank you so so much for watching everybody and cheerio!
Thanks again for watching everybody, as I said I've been to VidCon recently you can check out my playlist here,
YouTube have suggested a video you might like over here
and if you subscribe, you'll hear about my brand new videos. Thanks again everyone, cheerio!

Faith by Prayer (The Gifts pt. 4) - Duration: 9:12.
hello brothers and sisters good to see you again this is gonna be part four of the series
on the gifts this one is one that's a little different because this is
something that everybody has this is a whole different kind of gift really and it's
the one that is the most important to me and to almost everyone else and that
is prayer and faith
we're taking these sort of quizzes online there are multiple ones but they
sort of go through and based on these questions get a good idea of what gifts
your strongest with which one's your weakest with help you know okay
maybe this is my calling and okay this is what I probably need to work on
this is where I need to grow doing this with some of my brothers I
found you know mine went all over the place
some of them like leading preaching that stuff I was really low some things more
in the middle healing evangelism stuff like that then other ones I was way up
prophecy other ones but the one that always ranked on the top every time
and every test I took was faith because that's something that I needed from very
young age it's something that's always grown in me so this is something I'm
very passionate about
what I really want to get into is two things first what basically the two
sides of fate that I found in my walkand then also prayer specifically the idea of being
constantly in prayer without ceasing now with faith I found
the one that generally the churches I started in ones I grew up in went after
one form of faith which is all about trusting God trusting everything will
work together for good I learned even more about that I found personally that
not only will things that are bad turn out for good but also a lot of
times things that seem bad seem like denial of prayer will turn out to
actually answer the prayer in a whole different way than we expect and that's
something that I found very important is that we don't jump to a conclusion of Oh
God deny my request when really we might be denying his means he has a much
better way of doing things and that's one side of it that's very important the
other side that a whole different group of churches will focus on is
faith that God is going to answer prayer that God is going to do something
whereas for me originally I grew up in that environment where it's all about
constantly saying "if it's Your will"
personally I'm not crazy about that the reason is because you do that every time
you get down to the point not just being ready for if God denies but for me
personally I found I was getting to a point where I assumed God would deny that
was not good because then I had faith in the opposite of what I should when that
happens it's the point where your prayers don't really mean much your
requests don't matter and it kind of makes it so that you don't have as much
passion to your prayers so that's something I've found can be a
little risky to go down that road of just constantly over and over again
saying if it's in Your will if it's in Your will if it's in Your will just don't let it take you to that point
and at the same time be ready if he denies always remember he will bring it
about so that's just a little bit of how I see to keep faith at a good
balance now in prayer that whole idea of pray without ceasing is something that a
lot of people just think "how is that possible?"
I want to give you a whole new way of looking at that okay stop and
consider what do you do when you pray you just keep talking just keep
asking keep requesting is that it? just keep it up going on and on not really
as I'm sure almost everybody's heard a lot of times there's reminders listen
listen listen for an answer wait on the Lord so I want to propose the
thought that maybe this whole idea staying in prayer constantly in prayer
doesn't mean constantly be asking constantly be thanking constantly be doing
this instead maybe it means everyday throughout your life be ready to hear
when God speaks to you be ready to listen when he talks to you constantly
be listening for anything the Lord has to show you or say to you that's one
side of prayer maybe that is what it's really trying to get at and we don't
even try because we completely ignore that when it comes to that idea of being
constantly in prayer okay that's something that I think can be the
most important in how faith and prayer work together
because then if you're listening that's when you're putting faith forward
that's when you're truly completing what makes that idea of "if it's in Your will"
have any significance because then you're not just saying you know I know
you're probably to deny it because it may not be in your will instead you're
saying let me know is this in your will that way you don't know the answer until
He gives it you don't make any assumptions of what he's gonna say what he's gonna
do because you don't know so just remember
when time of prayer when you're trying to put your faith in the Lord you're not so
much supposed to keep that faith on oh what He's gonna do is gonna be right
it's gonna be better what I asked or he was gonna answer what I pray for exactly
instead it should just be leaving it open to going either way leaving it up
to Him just being prepared to know either way it goes He knows what He's doing
He is gonna answer this prayer one way or the other so I hope that's
encouraging to you I hope that really gives you more reason to stay in that
state of prayer so hope it's a blessing hope you all just stay blessed in the Lord
stay in prayer that way God bless you

Conservative Mouthpiece Tomi Lahren Admits She Benefits From Obamacare, Still Wants To Nix It - Duration: 4:02.
This past weekend at Politicon 2017, right-winged talker, formerly with the Blaze, Tomi Lahren,
while being interviewed for a panel by Chelsea Handler, admitted that the Affordable Care
Act is a failed law.
She attacked it.
She said it's horrible.
It's awful.
But then, she admitted something even more shocking.
Take a look.
I think that the free market place does better [crosstalk 00:00:27]
Okay.
So do you have a healthcare plan or no?
Well, luckily, I'm 24, so I am still on my parents' plan.
She's 24, so she's still on her parents' plan.
So why should she care about Obamacare, right?
Well, as it turns out, one of the hallmarks of the affordable care act of Obamacare, was
that it allowed young people to stay on their parents' plan til the age of 26.
This was a way to help get them started in the world and not worry about having to find
a job fresh out of college at age 22, that offered benefits from day one.
You had an extra four years against the estimated usual age at which people graduate college,
assuming they went fresh out of high school to find a job, to get submitted, to lay your
routes down, before you had to worry about the hassle that is American health insurance.
You, Miss Lahren, wanna take that right away from other American citizens?
I mean, Republican hypocrisy completely lacks any kind of self awareness.
But to call it a failed law, and then admit that you benefit from it, is possibly one
of the dumbest things that I could imagine another human being saying while talking about
healthcare.
Obamacare has not failed.
Is it perfect?
Oh God, no.
There are many problems with it.
Those are problems that are easily fixable, though, if we had conservatives in this country
who had even half a brain, who actually wanted to fix it instead of sabotage it.
People like Tomi Lahren do not care what happens to everybody else in this country.
Republicans typically don't care.
Why?
Because it's all about what they get.
"As long as I get mine, and I'm okay, then to hell with the rest of you.
I don't care."
That is exactly what she is saying in this particular interview.
And that's what her entire career's been based around.
This is how Republican's operate.
They lack any self awareness.
They lack any facts, any sense of intellectualism.
They just go out there.
Repeat talking point after talking point, never bothering to understand whether or not
it's true or false.
In most cases it's actually false.
They never bother to educate themselves so that they learn that every now and then, guess
what, Tomi?
It's okay for somebody to be wrong.
It's okay to come out and admit, "You know what?
This is an issue I was wrong about.
Maybe it goes against my party.
So you know what?
I'm just not gonna talk about it."
Move onto other issues, where you can spew your hate-filled talking points.
But on the issue of healthcare, right now, you're one of the biggest idiots out there
talking about it.
And, worth pointing out, you're also one of the biggest hypocrites.
If you're going to enjoy these benefits, then you should damn well extend them to everyone
else in this country.

How We Work | Presented by MetLife - Duration: 2:24.
This brings some challenges because
people are coming from
very different perspectives,
but it also brings some very
important opportunities.
My generation,
they tend to have worked
because they had to,
and they took work that wasn't
necessarily something that they enjoyed,
but it was what they needed
in order to support their family.
I think what I've noticed
about the younger generation,
that's different from when I was younger,
they take care of themselves better
and they put themselves first.
I admire it.
I wish that I had more of that.
As a Gen Xer,
I've been trained by Baby Boomers
and am now training Millennials
and I can see these generational
differences in our approach to medicine.
My generation and the generation below
really want to have a work life balance.
They want to be able to take vacations.
They want to have life experiences
that don't revolve around medicine.
I hear so many misconceptions
about my generation,
but the truth is Millennials are
working so hard to be successful
and to have great impact
on their communities.
It's great to have a different perspective,
and to be able to maybe influence them
and be a good role model for them.
and be a good role model for them. I think there's something to be learned
I think there's something to be learned
from those who've come before us,
and I think that we have to be able to
accept that the coming generations
may have solutions
we haven't thought of yet.
By the year 2020,
Millennials will be about
50% of the US workforce.
By 2025,
Millennials will be
75% of the US workplace.
In the past, many workers saw
the workplace relationship
as very contractual,
that you work for a paycheck.
Older generations often look at what
Millennials are getting and say,
"I want that too."
So I think progressive, smart businesses
are making sure that changes
to training programs,
to mentoring opportunities, to benefits
are not just being marketed
to their Millennial employees,
but are integrating
throughout their organizations
to every generation, at all levels.
There are tremendous benefits
and advantages to this unprecedented
multi-generational workplace,
and smart workers
and smart organizations
see those benefits
and use them to their own advantage.
-------------------------------------------
The Power of Purpose | Presented by MetLife - Duration: 2:37.
It's just about a paycheck.
It is certainly true
that people work for pay,
but they care about more than pay.
People care about being engaged
by the task,
so their attention is really
captured by what's in front of them,
about having control over their work,
about being respected by
their fellow workers
and by their supervisors,
and most important,
they care about feeling
that at the end of a day,
somebody's life has been improved.
I have two family members
with special needs
and I've really seen
the importance of having
a financial plan and
how it will impact their future.
That's what really drives me to go
help make an impact
and really work with other families,
who have children with special needs.
Very early on,
I knew I needed to do something
that was contributing to the world.
It feels insincere to say that
everything I do is altruistic
because I do get a huge rush
out of doing something
where I'm constantly learning.
I view the work that I do
as very meaningful.
If you look at housing,
and where it ranks
on the hierarchy of needs,
this is very critical, important work
that I do every day.
What I ultimately want
to be remembered for
is how I impacted others around me
and how I changed their lives
for the better.
Organizations have to start by asking,
"What's the purpose of my existence?"
"What do we do that makes lives better?"
Then, they need to ask themselves,
"How can I infuse every job
in the organization, at every level,
with a sense of this purpose?"
And then, they need to ask,
"How can I make sure that
this sense of purpose is a regular part
of everybody's work day, everyday?"
As a default assumption,
any work can be meaningful.
Managers need to pay attention
to the importance of meaning to work,
and how to integrate
the meaning of the work
into the work lives
of each and every employee.
If they do that,
their companies will be at
the cutting edge of their industries,
and have a competitive advantage
over companies who think
this meaning stuff is just
gratuitous and unnecessary.
The end result of this focus
on meaning and purpose,
is a happier, more satisfied workforce
and better results for the company.

10 MIND BLOWING Space Stories You NEVER Heard About - Duration: 9:50.
To many of us and especially those into Star Trek world
space may be the final frontier
and while we have been given a glimpse of the vastness of outer space back in school
that's all it really was a glimpse
and with a lot of interesting stories left out
So in today's video, we are going to talk about 10 mind blowing space stories and facts
that we were never told in school.
Number 10: The Smuggled Sandwich NASA equips its astronauts with the most sophisticated
gear that is intended to keep them safe in space as well as help them perform their jobs
comfortably while floating around in zero gravity.
Coupled with that, they are also provided with food items that are suitable for space
travel and would not damage any on-board equipment that could potentially cause a disaster.
It goes without saying that taking ordinary "earth food" with you in a space shuttle
while you are hurtling through the atmosphere is greatly discouraged and prohibited by NASA
because small things like crumbs can get into tiny crevices in equipment and spark a fire.
However, in one mission, an extremely curious astronaut named John Young was able to smuggle
a sandwich in his suit and bring it with him to space, even offering a bite to his co-pilot.
The amusement turned to terror when they both realized the destructive potential of the
sandwich crumbs floating around in a weightless environment.
Fortunately for them, they were able to complete their mission and came home in one piece.
Because of this stunt, NASA had to assure the public – and Congress – that they
will be tightening their security measures and screening so that no stunt like this can
ever be pulled again, placing billions of taxpayer dollars and the lives of the crew
at risk.
Number 9: The Flatulence Configuration In another story, the same astronaut, John
Young, went on a mission to the moon in 1972 and have made one of history's lesser known
utterances in outer space.
While having a casual conversation with a team member, Young casually mentions some
gassy digestive problems he had been experiencing and, right at that moment, let one rip while
he was completely unaware that his suit's microphone was recording everything.
Luckily, the mic was not sensitive enough to record the actual "release" of his
flatulence but Young was kind enough to give a colourful description of it along with a
few "F" words to accompany his adjectives.
Number 8: The Diamond Denomination You would think that this next one is all
Science Fiction and could have come from the mind of an absolutely imaginative writer.
However, the existence of this so-called Diamond Planet has been proven by real scientists
who have been observing it with much interest.
Called PSR J1719-1438 b, the planet was said to have once been a star and that the debris
it produced after it dies has managed to turn into a dwarf planet.
Part of a twin-star, this diamond planet managed to survive after its brother exploded into
a supernova.
Managing to stabilize far enough from being obliterated, it was able to keep its carbon
core that now is a colossal chunk of bling.
A pretty impressive discovery after we have all been told that Pluto has been declassified
as a planet, shattering our schoolyard belief that it was.
Number 7: The Multiverse Multiplier The debate on whether or not there are other
universes outside our own is a controversial debate that has kept scientists, physicists,
and astronomers on their toes and at each other's throats for years.
On one side, experts believe that there is no scientific and mathematical law that allows
the existence of another universe, let alone several more.
However, on the other hand, believers of the theory have countered that neither is there
evidence that disproves the theory of a multiverse that's just waiting to be discovered.
Many have held this belief as mere fantasy and something that only happens in speculative
fiction and comic books, the fact of the matter is that until scientific advancements can
be made that will allow humans to explore outside the known universe, this debate will
not soon be put to bed.
Number 6: The Deletion Dilemma We are all familiar with the iconic broadcast
of the first moon landing.
The moment Neil Armstrong took his first step and uttered those words that are now deeply
etched in human history, it was a completely new ballgame for science and the entire human
civilization.
However, in 2006, a shocking twist to the story came to the public eye when NASA half-heartedly
admitted that they have lost track of the recordings of the historic Apollo 11 mission
but assured everyone that it was simply buried somewhere in their archives.
Later, NASA announced that they have found the tapes pertaining to Apollo 11 but revealed
that the recordings were "accidentally" erased.
Luckily for NASA, news agencies such as CBS who managed to record the event were able
to supply a decent amount of recordings and footage from the Apollo 11 moon landing.
A courtesy that was able to save NASA from disgrace.
Number 5: The Shotgun Syntax A particularly lesser known story from the
Space Race was that the USSR armed their cosmonauts with shotguns while American astronauts were
busy smuggling Big Macs into space.
Modifying a TP-82 shotgun, Soviet engineers packed these firearms as they flew into space.
The reason for packing some heat in the void of space, however, was not to fend off hostile
aliens wanting to board their ship or in case they have to fight off space pirates.
The modified shotguns were more for the trip home.
The difference between NASA and Soviet re-entry protocol was that NASA chose a much more practical
approach to have their astronauts land in the Pacific region where they will then be
picked up.
The Soviets, on the other hand, chose the vast landscape of Siberia as their landing
point.
Unfortunately, when Soviet capsules re-entered the planet's atmosphere, their capsule would
sometimes fly off course and land in a different region that were mostly grizzly bear territory.
Number 4: The Giant Sun Complex The most difficult part of understanding space
is grasping the idea of how large it really is.
So far, the only information we know about scale is from mock-ups of the solar system
with the sun being the largest body in the universe.
Speaking of scale, let us put the sun as an example.
We all know that it is a massive star that the planets revolve around on and it has different
effects on each planetary body.
However, a recent discovery has been made that the sun, which is 109 times larger than
the Earth, is dwarfed by an even bigger star called VY Canis Majoris: a hyper-gigantic
star that is, roughly, 1.7 billion – yes, BILLION – miles in diameter.
Also, bigger means brighter and hotter.
Simply put, if we were to place this hyper-giant star to replace out own sun, chances are,
every single planet and moon within its reach will instantly be obliterated.
Fortunately for our solar system, VY Canis Majoris is 4900 lightyears away – a distance
that makes it difficult for scientists to study.
However, experts predict that in about 100,000 years, this star will explode and die and
– probably, take a few systems with it along the way.
A literal Death Star.
Number 3: The Problematic Pee Postulation NASA engineers make sure that before they
send someone off to space they have covered all the bases from suits to ships – and
one of these bases involve getting rid of human waste while in outer space.
To the layman, the answer may be as simple as cracking open a chute and just let things
all and float freely out of the ship.
However, the solution is much, much more complicated than that.
Engineers have to consider, on top of comfort and hygiene, scenarios that can possibly damage
a craft or any part of it during the process of waste elimination.
One example posed an almost catastrophic scenario.
In 1984, the crew of the space shuttle Discovery was stunned to discover a large icicle made
of urine sticking out of the urinal discharge unit.
The way it is done, in layman's terms, is that astronauts would urinate in receptacles
that are then ejected into space rather than spray it freely.
Due to the technology at that time, a technical problem occurred and resulted in a bright
yellow icicle.
While it was hilarious to look at, the astronauts had to find a way to remove the shard of iced
pee as it could cause serious problems upon re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere.
The solution, after trying different ways to get rid of it, was using the shuttle's
mechanical arm grabbing the icicle and breaking it off.
Number 2: The Dark Matter Mystery We have somehow heard of this mysterious Dark
Matter from science shows and movies.
With a name that sounds like it was lifted directly from a Space Opera, it is one of
the most mysterious anomalies in space and physics.
Dark Matter occurs when Einstein's famous equation of E=MC^2 is applied to space.
Using the equation, scientists are able to determine just how much matter exists in the
universe.
Surprisingly, however, scientists have only found 4% of matter and are boggled about where
the 96% are.
Some theorists believe that the 96% of missing matter is present but comes in the form of
the so-called Dark Matter; a form of matter that exists wherever no visible matter is
found.
To this very day, scientists and experts are debating if in fact Dark Matter is a real
thing since no conclusive evidence is pointing them in the right direction.
What is even more frustrating is that Dark Matter, upholding its namesake, cannot be
seen or touched; light and radio waves also pass through it seamlessly.
Since it is a fundamental scientific fact that matter – in this case, Dark or otherwise
– cannot be created or destroyed, who knows?
Maybe it's right in front of us, staring at us straight in the face.
Number 1: The White Hole Conjecture Speaking of Einstein, we know that he became
famous for proving the existence of Black Holes and how they behave through mathematics.
However, while we have celebrated his discovery of the existence Black Holes and have discovered
– through the advancement of our technology – several of them in space, what is less
known is Einstein's discovery of the existence of "White Holes" through his equations.
As you may come to conclude, White Holes are the complete opposite of their darker counterparts.
Where Black Holes devour light and matter, White Holes seem to spit them out as if creating
them from nothing.
With this uncanny quality of creating matter "out of nothing", they should be easy
to spot but, to this day, at least a trace of it is yet to be found.
What is interesting to note is that if ever one is found in space, it can present answers
to questions that science has yet to provide such as the origin of the material that is
basically the make-up of galaxies.

Episode 4: Everything you ever wanted to know about career pages (but were afraid to ask) - Duration: 13:34.
This is Safe for Work, the Workopolis podcast.
Hi I'm Sal Ciolfi and today on
the podcast we're going to take a closer look at career pages - more specifically
why are these pages on your company's website important and what can you do to
get the most out of it. To help shed some light on the fine art of career pages
we're here with Sonya Matheson, Workopolis' employer branding and
recruitment services manager. Hi Sonya.
Hi, how are you?
I'm very good. So,
why don't we look a little closer at your background when it comes to career pages
and recruiting. You've been doing this for quite some time right?
Yes, I have. So, I've worked in talent communications for about 15 years now. My
first role out of school it was actually at a recruitment advertising agency and
that was back in the day where recruitment advertising was really just
placing print ads. I was there for the whole paradigm shift when we went from
placing print ads to find employees to using online predominantly for job hunting.
OK. So, why is it important for a small business to have a career page?
First of all, what is a career page? When we say that what are we talking about?
Well, a career page is a link off of your main home page that talks about working
for the organization. Normally, career pages will have information such as, you
know, available positions, reasons why you should work at the company, some of the
benefits and perks of working at that organization, and sometimes great career
pages they do some company profiles about people who are within the business
and the different jobs are available. So quite truly it's everything, ideally, that
an applicant would want to know before making the decision to apply for a position.
OK, there's so much being said now about
social media and importance of that. Are these career pages still important? Or
can a lot of this be done on the social media front?
Well I think that social media plays a big aspect but I think that a career page is very important. If
somebody invites you to a restaurant you've never been to, you Google the menu.
Right? And the same thing is when you're looking for a new position. So, if you're
considering the commitment of starting a new job with an organization, you really
want to know a little bit about them and what it's like to work for them.
So not all companies have the advantage of the notoriety of, you know, the
huge global organizations - the Walmart or McDonald's.
You know, a lot of companies are small/ medium-sized businesses under 500 people,
and you want to know a little bit about what it's like to work there. A career page
also adds a bit of credibility to a small business - many people may
not have heard about them before.
OK so you touched on a few of the
components of the career page. But what would you say are the really essential
elements? Is it about culture? Is it awards? What do you
think is really an essential component of the career page?
So I think it's very
important to talk about what you do, why you do it, and why it's important. I think
that when a company is passionate about the work that they do, it's infectious. So
realistically small/medium-sized businesses, they can't always entice
through salary so in a competitive market, it's really not reasonable to be
able to do that. So it's important to be able to tell the applicant what makes working
for your company special. And what most will find is that candidate state they
don't really make choices on who's offering the highest salaries. It's truly
a decision that's both intrinsic and extrinsic. So you know candidates still
weight all factors, which includes culture, reputation, opportunity for advancement,
before it making that decision to move.
So how can a company a small
company, let's say, what are some of the ways they can show those things you're just
talking about without telling them. You know is there way an easy way for them
to do it is it through videos? Through images? What would you suggest?
I think
that what's very important is to be quite realistic about what you're
offering. So what we actually call - and it's a term that a lot of people will,
when you start looking at employer branding and start looking at you know
working for an organization, the term that will come up is EVP which is really
the employee value proposition and what that EVP is it's pretty much your promise
when you hit the market when you're looking to attract but also to retain
employees. So, every company, they have one, whether or not it is already
defined or not. And it's not just the to-market message. It's everything. So if
we're talking about some some great ways to start to hone in on the EVP - I think
that that's what's important - you truly have to be open and honest and realistic
about what your value proposition is that you're offering for
employees. First and foremost the best way to do that is support from the top
down. You have to have executive sponsorship because your entire
organization has to live those promises that you are going to be putting out
your talent community. It's also very important when you start talking to your
talent community that it's not just the HR folks or senior managers that are
putting this together. It's important to get the feedback and the
information from all levels. If you have corporate and you know field sales it's
important to get it from all of those different divisions within the
organization to ensure that it really does ring true to what the reality of
life working in that workplace actually is. Otherwise your EVP it's really going
to be misaligned. And a lot of time when you're starting at an organization and
you think the opportunity is going to be one thing because of what you've been
promised and then 30 days in, 60 days in, et cetera, you find out that this isn't at all
what I signed up for. That's when you start getting problems with attrition
and you lose the talent that you work so hard to get and
work so hard to train. You lose it to your competitor.
It's misleading.
Absolutely. So, I think it's really important. The number one thing, I sort
of a roundabout way to say it, the number one thing is just be honest and really
realize when it's time to maybe reset some of the goals. Or if you are looking
at your competitors and you see that you're not quite stacking up to what
else is in the market, you have to be able to have an honest conversation with
yourself about it.
So that's really good advice to kind of set something in place
in terms of a culture. What would you suggest for companies that are looking
at specific ways when they're coming to write it, to kind of crystallize it down
to one simple statement. What can they do to simplify that process? You know not
everybody is a writer, and you know they don't have that background. Is there
something you suggest?
Right well I mean definitely if you have the ability to do
so there are many great organizations that can assist you to help hone in on
what that employee value promises and I think that if you have the
opportunity to work with some of these fantastic agencies, do that. But
otherwise if you're going to go it alone I don't know if I can give
you the one, you know, ace in the hole, this is definitely what
you're going to be able to do there write a fantastic EVP. But I mean truly
just look at what the core value is of the people you are working with and why
you do what you do. You know, and that's usually the first starting point: why do
we come into work every day? We can work for a hundred different organizations.
Why work for this one? And I think that once you truly get a consensus, do
some focus groups, or, you know, if they're not highly structured focus groups you
have some one-on-one conversations and you find emerging trends with those
conversations, I think the better you're launching point. And you can
safely say "alright, we have found that by speaking to ten of our top employees
that the reason they stay here is because we have great work-life balance" OK
great so let's start there and let's see what we can build on that when
we start putting together the promise.
So based on that, do you have any examples
of great company career pages out there that you've already run into?
Yeah absolutely. I mean just off the top my head
I mean Amazon does a great job. Not surprisingly right? Amazon does a great
job on a lot of things and and this is really truly no exception. So I find that
Amazon, you know it's very clean, their career pages really resemble what their
e-com looks like. So, it's about that great tie-in. They do really a
great job. Spotify is fantastic. Spotify, the majority
of their career page it is really profiles of some of the folks that are
working there now.
They have playlists.
They do and so that's very cool
because that really personifies, that brings a
personal level of that. Also Airbnb, you know, they're very visually striking. If
you take a look at the Airbnb site you know really beautifully branded. You
know there are a lot of companies that do a really great job of employer
branding. Because employer branding and the EVP, they're not the same. They work
together, but they're not the same. But if we're talking about it from
a perspective, yeah I think that those three companies are great examples
to check out.
Cool. And on the flip side of that, what are some of the
common mistakes that companies make when they're building a career page or
writing that EVP?
Yeah I think that, especially when building a career page,
lack of of information is a killer. So I've
seen many career pages where you go on and there's really not a whole heck of a
lot - it's really just a statement that says "if you want to work here send us an
email." And you're going OK, are there jobs? Are there not jobs?
Is this going to anywhere? So that's I think it is
important. But also too much information, which I know sort of seems like a
conflicting statement but you know a lot of companies they get very hung up on
the origins of where they've been, you know, "the last 200 years we have from our
founders to this to that..." you know that's very important information, but
when you only have you know 20 seconds to engage a candidate, they're going to look
on your page, you want to be able to put them in the driver's seat.
You want to give them information that they're looking for quickly without
having to wade through. They'll have lots of time to learn that if you decide to
hire them. I think that most companies first and foremost they really struggle
with helping to put the seeker into the space of actually working there. So you
know you want to put them in that job in their head and sort of make them
visualize working with the organization. And, you know, that's really what it's all about.
Would you say there are misconceptions
than about what companies do? Based on what you just said, is that something
that they get wrong often? That they, you know, they focus on one particular
thing as opposed to kind of painting that full picture?
Yes. You know, a lot of,
some companies have a great balance. They do it really really well. Some do not.
And that's okay because just because you're not doing everything
you need to do today does not mean that you can't, you know, you can't start
tomorrow working on on starting to engage some more employees. I think
what's really important to note is that in Canada, I was looking at the stats, and
in Canada 90 percent of people who are employed work in small/ medium-sized
business under 500 employees. So I think that, you know, it's a
competitive market with other small/ medium businesses. I think the
misconception is that small/medium businesses they think that they're
competing with the big guys and they're not. They're competing with businesses the
same size of what they are. So, that's why it's really important.
OK that's a
great point. so do you have any advice for the
small business owners with regards to building a career page? What
can they do to compete against those those other small businesses to really stand out in the crowd?
Well I think that first and foremost you have to get rid of the idea
of "this is the way we've always done it." So, that sounds very cliche because I think I've
been hearing that more often than not the last couple of years in my life and
"this is the way we've always done it." Oh, get rid of that phrase. But yet I still hear
it - it's kind of interesting. Um, you know you have to let your talent
community speak to you and you have to take into account really what
is important to them, you know, what - really take a look at what's
important to the new job seekers entering the market. We have to remember
that they are very savvy, they have a very high EQ, you know, very
emotionally intelligent people. And they have the ability to see through
when you're not being sincere, I think, right, so I know that this is the
generation that is coming into market now. So really I also would say use
social media liberally. You know, I was sort of joking about this the other day -
a little Instagramming never hurt anybody. If your company's
going out to Wonderland, that day or they went to the zoo, and had a fantastic time,
take those pictures, put them online, show something cool. And you can do that for
really a minimal cost that that doesn't would cost you very much to be able to
do it. I think a lot of people think it's expensive but it's not - use the tools that
are available for you to be able to do it within your budget.
Great. Well, great advice. Thank you Sonya

BMW X1 E84 service reminder reset - Duration: 2:20.
Hi! Today we are in BMW X1 (the E84 model) and I'm going to show you how to reset
the service reminders in this car. So what you can do is put the key in the
ignition, turn the ignition on, wait few seconds just for the warnings to
disappear. If you have any warnings like low fuel, burned bulbs... just
wait few seconds. OK, right now put your finger on the trip-reset button, press and
hold. Keep holding.
And release.
And you can use the left stalk up and down
function to browse through the service menu. And we have over here
the front brakes reminder, oil reminder, break fluid
reminder, rear breaks and general inspection. This is your legal reminder
for your insurance or other legal actions that you need to take care of in
your car. OK, so let's change the legal reminder in
this car. It's set to May 2018 and what you need to do is press the BC
button. And over here you can adjust what month - when exactly the reminder
should appear. OK, let's confirm the month,
confirm the year and it's done. And the same goes for other reminders. If you have
something like kilometres to remind you about something most likely we will have
to press and hold the BC button and you will see a little clock spinning over
