Jurgen Klopp describes Hoffenheim as "real challenge" in Champions League - Duration: 3:34.Jurgen Klopp describes Hoffenheim as "real challenge" in Champions League
Jurgen Klopp has addressed Liverpool's draw against Hoffenheim in their Champions League play-off, saying it is "for sure not an easy game.
The Reds will take on Julian Nagelsmann's side over two legs this month, as they push for a place in the group stage of Europe's top-tier tournament.
With the first clash set to take place at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena on August 15, and the return leg at Anfield on August 23, there are less than two weeks to prepare.
But in Klopp they have a manager experienced against Bundesliga sides, and the 50-year-old is looking forward to another meeting with 1899. Actually, it was exactly what I expected when I had a look," he told LiverpoolFC.com.
"If there's a choice we always seem to take the German team! Sorry!.
"It was clear from the first moment when we knew who we could face that there would be no easy game. It's Hoffenheim and that's for sure not an easy game.
"But we should always not forget what they thought in the moment they saw the draw—it's not the best thing they could get. "I'm completely fine with it, happy to know and now we can start preparing.
"[They are a] strong side, how everybody can imagine. When you are fourth in Germany you are a strong side.".
During his time with Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund, Klopp won six, drew six and lost five of his 17 encounters with Hoffenheim.
But having left Dortmund before Nagelsmann's appointment in 2015, he is aware they will be a different prospect this time around.
Nagelsmann has presided over a forced overhaul of his ranks this summer, but Klopp believes the two games will be a "real challenge," as he pits himself against his youthful counterpart.
"It's a very interesting club. They have a lot of really good young players," he continued. "They lost two of them—[Sebastian] Rudy and [Niklas] Sule to Bayern—and had a little change.
"[They have] a very young manager, just 30 years old, a very talented man. That's a real challenge but I'm looking forward to it. "First we'll play Watford but at the same time we'll start preparing for Hoffenheim and it's really exciting.
As Klopp suggests, Liverpool still need to focus on their Premier League opener away to Watford on August 12, as they look to build on last season's fourth-placed finish.
But in Hoffenheim, the Reds have been drawn formidable opposition, and Klopp will ensure his side are reminded of that.

Adam Lallana ruled out for a "significant period" - Duration: 3:03.Adam Lallana ruled out for a "significant period"
Liverpool have been dealt a major blow just over a week before the season begins, with midfielder Adam Lallana ruled out for a "significant period" – at least two months.
The 29-year-old played the second half against Bayern Munich on Tuesday, then the first half against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday but suffered a thigh injury in that second game. "This is certainly not news we would have wanted," said Jurgen Klopp.
"Unfortunately, the damage is such that it will likely mean Adam is out for a couple of months not weeks, so I think we can pretty much rule him out of August and September.
"Beyond that we will monitor and wait and see.
He is a boy with a world-class attitude to everything professionally and he has always come back in good time from injury setbacks since I have been here, so we will see." Lallana, who scored eight goals last season, will miss the opening months of the season, including the opening Champions League group games should the Reds navigate their way past Hoffenheim in the play-off this month.
While Klopp has ruled him out of August and September, he could face three months on the sidelines, according to some reports.
Whether this news forces Liverpool to either return their interest in Naby Keita, or further their interest in Arsenal's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, we will have to see in the coming days.
Another midfielder though is surely needed this summer, with Lucas Leiva and Kevin Stewart leaving and European competition to contend with this coming season.
The 29-year-old is sidelined following Wednesday night's Audi Cup clash with Atletico Madrid, and is expected to miss a "significant period," according to Jurgen Klopp.
Lallana established himself as a key player in a new midfield role last season, and Klopp will now be forced to plan without him for the start of the campaign.
This is particularly pertinent following the failure to sign Naby Keita from RB Leipzig, and continued speculation of the future of Philippe Coutinho following Neymar's move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Unsurprisingly, the news of Lallana's layoff left Liverpool fans roundly disappointed, and hoping for a new signing.

Liverpool draw Hoffenheim in Champions League play-offs - Duration: 2:46.Liverpool draw Hoffenheim in Champions League play-offs
Liverpool will face Bundesliga side Hoffenheim in their Champions League play-off clash, after a draw held in Nyon on Friday morning.
The Reds are set to take on Julian Nagelsmann's Hoffenheim in a two-legged tie later this month, with the first leg to be held on August 15/16 and the second on August 22/23.
An aggregate victory over both legs will ensure progress to the group stage of this season Champions League, after finishing fourth in the Premier League in 2016/17.
The first leg is set to take place at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena, before a clash at Anfield to decide the two clubs' European fate.
Liverpool are yet to meet Hoffenheim in their 125-year history, but the play-off will provide Roberto Firmino with a reunion with his old side, having left for Anfield in 2015.
Liverpool were drawn against German side Hoffenheim on Friday morning, arguably the toughest opponent they could have faced in the Champions League play off.
The Reds were drawn to play away from home in the first leg, with the return leg back at Anfield a week later.
The dates for those two games have now been confirmed as Tuesday, August 15 (Rhein-Neckar-Arena) and Wednesday, August 23 (Anfield).
The first leg takes place three days after the opening Premier League game at Watford, with the opening home game against Crystal Palace in between the two ties.
12: Watford (A) 15: Hoffenheim (A) 19: C Palace (H) 23: Hoffenheim (H) 27: Arsenal (H). Should Liverpool progress, the draw for the group stages takes place on Thursday 24 August. Liverpool would be a third seed in the group.
Should they lose the play-off, the Europa League draw takes place on Friday 25 August.

Lisa Loeb "Stay (I Missed You)" Official Lyrics & Meaning | Verified - Duration: 3:34.Every time I write a song I am trying to express myself, but in the back of my head there is
that kind of desire, that "Ooh maybe people would connect to this."
I didn't write it the way I would sit down to write a hit song, so it was surprising
that it did connect so much.
I was, I was trying to think of a song for Daryl Hall actually from Hall and Oates because
someone told me that he was looking for songs for his solo record.
So I was trying to come up with something that was sort of like a little bit R&B, but
good for his voice.
I think when all of the lyrics started pouring out of me and it was becoming, sounding like
a journal entry or something. I think that's when I knew it was a song for me.
Stay has no chorus.
The structure is very unusual.
It kind of unfolds and folds back up again.
You know, when you're in the moment you're almost like a child.
You're like "I'm done with this," but then when you leave the room you realize,
"Shoot, I cut my nose off to spite my face, like I actually miss you."
You know you're a person who really tries to listen to the details and understand not
even just the words, but the feelings that are being thrown in your direction.
When somebody accuses of only hearing what you want to it's even worse, you know?
You know sometimes when you are just in a bad mood everything makes you mad and everything
bothers you.
You know sometimes you can feel like everybody is saying no to you and you're bad
and you're wrong. You know everybody is sort of accusing you.
I think I was trying to get away from this intense situation I'm in.
I'm like "God, I'm just gonna get away from this."
I turn the radio on, then this woman is singing my song!
But then there's a little satisfaction because she's singing my song.
She's singing the same thing that is happening to me and I realized this happens to everybody.
Everybody goes through these same things.
You think that you are in control.
You think that you are in charge of what's happening and then you realize you are kinda
the object of it, or you are just in the middle of something
that is happening.
You don't have control over it.
People do things that are rash, and they just leave.
But, sometimes you really need to take a minute and just think, "What's my real
object in this whole larger life scheme?"
You know my love for this person is more important than winning a fight.
I'm playing with the audiences emotions, but the situation plays with my emotions.

July Unboxing | BOTM & Afrofuture - Duration: 8:27.Hi everyone. I'm rincey and this is rincey reads. Today i'm going to be doing
an unboxing video for you guys. I have my book of the month box to show off and
then i have a new box that was kindly sent to me. It's the afrofuture box.
So the afrofuture box is a new book box that focuses on science fiction, fantasy,
and speculative fiction books by black authors. And i believe that there are
more things in the box besides just the book. I don't know too much about it.
I didn't like look at the website too heavily. But I do know that the box costs around
36 or 37 dollars per month if you do subscribe. But they also have the option
that you can purchase individual boxes as well until they like run out, basically.
So if you can't necessarily do the full subscription every single month,
you can maybe check it out every couple of months when you have the means.
Also they provided me with a coupon code. I will put it in the description in case
you guys are interested in subscribing. But yeah, let's open up the box and see
if it's actually any good because again I have no idea what's going to be in
this box. So we'll see together. All right. so first they have this little card at
the top that talks about everything that's in the box which is really
helpful. There's a pretty decent amount of stuff in here which I will show you
in a second. So the first thing that I see at the top is this card.
It's literally just like a greeting card, but it's blank on the inside. But it has this
really fantastic design on the front which I really, really like. The spirit
card by olga lolo. Then the first book is afrofuturism the world of black sci-fi
and fantasy culture by Natasha L. Womack. So I believe that this is a
nonfiction book that talks about afrofuturism and provides sort of like
context and information for people who are interested in this as a genre.
It talks a lot about, it says here like the literature of Samuel Delaney, Octavia Butler,
and N.K. Jemisin. But also musical influences such as Sun
Ra, George Clinton, the black eyed peas' will.I.am and the different like art that
they're inspired by for their works and things like that. So I think that this is
sort of like a beginner's guide to afrofuturism and provides a lot of context
for the authors and artists who belong to that space, which is really interesting.
And then the other book that's in here is the Prey of Gods by
Nicki Drayden. And i've actually seen this one
floating around a little bit. I think a couple of book rioters got copies of
this and I've heard pretty good things about it. So this story it looks like
takes place in South Africa and robots and AI seem to be sort of making life
easier, taking over a lot of like the more difficult, mundane tasks of everyday.
But it looks like there is like some drugs that are affecting a significant
portion of the population, there is the potential of an AI uprising, and there is
an ancient demigoddess hell-bent on regaining her former status by preying
on the blood and sweat but mostly blood of every human she encounters. So yeah
this looks fascinating. The little girl on this cover is terrifying. So yeah,
it looks like this could be a really interesting read. The other things that
are included in here like the fun little treats. So there is South African flag
jelly beans which I'm assuming this is like the colours of the South African
flag. I'm not 100% sure what the South African flag looks like so I apologize
if that is incorrect. But yeah these are just like regular Jelly Belly jelly
beans which I'm excited to have because I love jelly beans.
Okay there's also a mug in here which I need to take out of this packaging.
I actually really appreciate the fact that they packed it like this because a lot
of times mugs are not wrapped this well in these book boxes, but this one actually is.
Okay so the mug looks like this and it says afro future around the edge.
So that's pretty cool. And then they sent along 3 tea packs along with it.
These are Tega organic teas. Haven't tried that before. Masala chai rooibos
Rubio's? I never know how to say that. Chocolate mint, interesting, and pure red.
Oh I like red rooibos. I don't know how to say that word. Oh and I forgot to
mention there's a note in this book from the author. So that's pretty nice as well.
So yeah that's everything that comes in the box. Yeah that's a pretty decent
amount of stuff. Two books, a mug, tea and jelly beans along with the card and a
note from the author. So yeah it's up to you if you think that this is worth your
money or not but again there's a discount code down in the description in
case you guys are interested in checking it out. You can get a discount. I don't
get any like kickbacks from it at all. They were just nice enough to provide a
discount code in case you guys are interested.
Okay onto the books that I got from book of the month. There are three books that I have
to show off here. I don't remember what I picked this month. So again this is as
much a surprise to you as it is to me. You ever do that thing where you forget what
was you ordered and then you see the books that you get really excited again.
I'm really proud of myself for the books I picked this month. I mean all three of
them were ones that I knew were coming out this month, in general, like they were
being released and I wanted to read anyways. And so I picked them for my
book of the month books cause yeah I'm really excited for them. So the first
book I have to show off is the fierce kingdown by Gin Phillips. Gin Phillips
is an authors who I've read a really long time ago. She wrote a book called
the well in the mine that is completely different from this. But I really enjoyed
it a lot when I read it. So when I saw that she had another book coming out I
was kind of excited. And then when I read what it was about, it sounded like crazy
and terrified. So all I know about this book is that you are following this
woman and her son. They go to the zoo one day and then the zoo closes and they are
basically trapped inside. And something happens while they're in the zoo I don't
know if it's like the animals come to life or they just turn like evil or
something like that but they just like desperately need to get out of the zoo
before something bad happens. That's basically all I know. That's all I want to
know going into it. I want this to be as much of a surprise as possible. But yeah
I've been hearing pretty good things about this. I'm excited to check it out
and to potentially have nightmares. I'm not excited about the nightmares but I have
a feeling this is the kind of book that could give you nightmares or make you at
least afraid to go to the zoo at night. The next book is the blinds by Adam
Sternberg. I'm really excited about this one as well. I follow Adam Sternberg on
Twitter because he is a writer for New York magazine I wanna say or New York Times
Magazine, one of those two. But I really like his writing. He wrote shovel ready,
which came out a couple of years ago and then he wrote another that was like
follow up to that. This is his latest book, obviously. In the story there is
this like small town where criminals go but they sort of have like their memory
erased so they don't remember that they actually committed a crime. All they know
is that they're not allowed to leave this town. And then there is like this
sheriff who basically keeps watch over the town and then stuff starts happening
basically and things sort of go wrong. And so I think it sort of just follows
through from there. It sounds really interesting and I really,
really love this cover a whole lot. So yeah again this is another one just
super excited that it was included in book of the month this month. And I'm so
excited to read it. And then the third book that I picked up for the month was
little & lion. by Brandy Colbert. Brandy Colbert is an author who I've been
wanting to check out for a while. She wrote a book called pointe I want to say.
It was a book about ballet a couple of years ago that I'd been meaning to pick
up but I just never did. She writes young adult literature and I've heard just
nothing but great things about her writing. In the story you are following
this girl who goes to boarding school in New England and her family lives in LA.
So she comes home one summer and it's about her basically just like learning a
lot about herself and then her brother also has I think it's bipolar disorder.
And so it's about her sort of learning how to help her brother through that
situation, sort of there are specific events that occur that really hurt his mental
health. And was about like her learning about what his needs are and what's good or
bad for his own mental health and also just like her discovering her own
identity and figuring out what you know best for her as well. So yeah,
contemporary young adult. I'm super excited to read it and finally like
check out what Brandy Colbert is all about. So yeah that's everything that I
have for you guys in this unboxing video. Like I said I will have links to the
afrofuture box down in the comments below along with the coupon code, I'll also have
a link to the Book of the Month website in case you are interested in that.
Book of the Month is U.S. only. I believe the afrofuture box will ship
internationally. You just have to pay more for shipping. But if you have any
other questions about the boxes or any of the books, feel free to leave it down
in the comments below and I will try my best to answer them. So yeah that's all I
have for now and thanks for watching.
