As the title says, I want to talk about gender stereotypes and the labels they have.
I will start with the question: what are gender stereotypes and what are their labels?
Gender stereotypes are the beliefs or thoughts that society in general has built
about how women and men are, or how they should be.
We live in a society organized from a classification by genres
where stereotypes are considered as something natural.
These are transmitted unconsciously through attitudes, words, etc.
They are present even when we are born:
if you are born 'man' the color of the clothes you wear is blue and if you are born 'woman' is pink.
Automatically we are classify by a color when in fact the colors don't have gender.
There are many types of gender stereotypes that transfer us since we are small.
For example, that a boy can't do ballet or play with dolls, 'cause that is too 'feminine'
and a girl can't do sports like football or playing with cars, 'cause that is something too 'masculine'.
Stereotypes are also found in school and they even force you to follow them.
How to wear a uniform with a skirt the 'women', and with pants the 'men',
or that men can't have too long hair, wear hoops or make up, 'cause that is 'women's thing'.

Everything that comes out of these impositions is judged, criticized and discriminated against,

In other words, the girl who plays ball with friends automatically they call her 'tomboy',
and the boy who plays with dolls they call him 'fagot'.
The labels are even on the clothes and the colors of it.
Skirts, heels, dresses, or clothing in general pink is associated as 'women's clothing'.
The suits, shirts, pants, or clothing in general blue is associated as 'men's clothing'.
And, it depends on the clothes that are used, there are also the labels of 'slut' 'bitch' 'prostitute' 'weird', etc.
Unfortunately, today everything has a gender:
women's or men's perfumes, women's or men's clothing, women's or men's sports, etc.
But is it really necessary to classify colors, clothes, sports, attitudes, places, jobs,

Last night I was really proud An american friend of mine
walked up to me and said Congratulations India has the tallest statue
in the world now you guys are doing some amazing things
my heart was filled with pride
the world is finally acknowledging India in the big boys club
Unfortunately the morning was not so good I woke to media articles saying all the negative
things about sardar vallabhbhai patel statue
they highlighted 3 main points and I am going to discuss each one of them with you guys
and I will leave it you to decide whether it was a good decision to make this statue or not
the construction cost of this statue is around 3000 CR.
the so called media economists are calling it an economic disaster
they are comparing it to the revenue generated by Taj mahal which had a direct revenue of
around 25 crores last year they are saying that even if this statue gains
the same amount of popularity as the Taj mahal
it's going to take 120 years to recover the amount of investment
I personally don't agree with this comparison and I have my own reasons for that
they are only considering the direct revenue generated by the Taj mahal
but when a person goes to visit the Taj mahal apart from buying the ticket
he stays there, he buys food he buys souvenir so there is a lot of indirect revenue generated
by Agra because of Taj mahal and the same is going to happen through
sardar vallabhbhai patel statue as well so you can't solely compare on the direct
revenue generated by the statue you will have to consider the local economic benefits that
will happen because of the statue as well
Agra has hundreds of hotels, restaurants and shops that run solely because of Taj mahal
and if we believe the government statistics
it will take less a decade to recover the entire amount invested in this statue
the second argument they have is that this money could have been used to construct multiple
IIT's IIM's or AIIMS and while I personally agree that the country
is in dire need of good education institutes I want to clarify one thing here it's not
that the entire budget of Gujarat was used to build this particular statue if you see
last year the budget of Gujarat was 1 lakh 80 thousand crore and out of that 27000 CR.
were kept for education this statue was build over a period of 4 years
that means only 1% of the budget per year was actually dedicated to this particular statue
I want to highlight one more thing
Dubai which is comparable to the size of Delhi generated more foreign tourism than the entire
Indian country , if we have to become big in tourism we have to become big is such activities
so that we can attract more foreign tourists and more foreign revenue

why we are investing in this particular statue
rather we should invest in the welfare of the local people

more on Health Education and Food

Screen Lighting Hack For Video Calls - Duration: 3:24.
Hi everyone, how are you going? Karen Finnin here, Physiotherapist and Director of
Online.Physio. Oh my gosh, so over the weekend I did a little craft project and
I wanted to share the results with you. On Friday I was on a podcast and that
podcast was videoed and I was sitting at my computer and before the podcast
started I was faffing around with my lighting trying to get it right so that
when I was sitting at my computer I had a nice light on me but I could still see
the screen and I tell you it was a mission and what I thought was, wouldn't
it be great if, like you see some iPhone selfie cases that have lighting around
them, if my monitor had lighting around it so that I just could flick that
switch on to light me up if I was recording a video or doing a video
consultation. So I googled LED strip lights for monitors thinking that
there would be some kind of cases or covers that you could put on your
monitor so that you could be lit up when you're on a video call, and I found a lot
of LED strip lighting for monitors but it was all about putting the lighting on
the back of the monitor so that it would glow and, you know, for gaming and all
different colors and all that sort of stuff, but I found nothing for the front
of the monitor to light up your face so I did a bit of shopping and what I found
was this. I went in to Bunnings which is our big warehouse of hardware, and I
found this strip of LED lights. Now it's for indoor use only because it's not
hardy or weatherproof, but let's basically grab some off here, there we go
So believe it or not, let's see if you can see that, it is just a strip, like
paper-thin, with a sticky back on it and what I did was stick that around the
edge of my monitor, hooked it up to power and let me show you the results. So if
you look a little over here this is my monitor and you can see that around the
edge I've now got this white strip. So that's the LED lights all around there
and I'm also filming on this screen so that you can see
the effect of the lighting. So I'm going to switch screens, so here I am now this
is my normal lighting I've got darkness you can see most of my face is in
darkness, but if I flick on the switch I'm all lit up. I've got still full
access to my screen there's nothing using up the space around my desk
obviously the camera still works perfectly because I made sure I didn't
stick the strip over the camera, and if we switch back to the other camera you
can see now the lit up strip around the monitor. The very best part of this is it
only cost twenty dollars now that's Australian so if you're in other
places it might be even cheaper for you but this strip of lights, sticky back on
it, didn't take me long at all to do and now I've got my perfect solution for
whenever I'm doing a video call. I hope that's useful for you, I think you should
get out to the hardware store and make yourself an LED monitor light, make
better quality calls and better quality video and let me know how you go. I hope
