Youtube daily report w Apr 3 2017

Hello and a warm welcome to a new Review by Autophorie

We already know the Volkswagen Golf from different generations, however today it's all about the fastest of them all

And this is the new Golf R Mk7.2

The front changed a bit compared to the older model in case of the grille and the air intakes

However there are new LED headlights as standard, yet in Germany they don't come with the turning option as standard

Let's take a closer look to the rims or wheels

These are the optional, yet beautiful 19inch wheels with the Michelin Cup 2 Tires

Those are a perfect fit to the car, yet the standard rim is an 18inch wheel

The door mirror caps are standard chrome matte, but there is also an option for a glossy black and a carbon cap

As well as the GTI, the taillights at the Golf R are standard LED

That little spoiler on the existing spoiler however is an option included in the "performance package"

Yet what I really like to show you is the optional Akrapovic exhaust made from Titanium (7.2 kgs less than the standard exhaust)

The sound of the exhaust is beautiful but there is a big, big price tag of 3,800 EUR in Germany for that Option

Today we're only able to drive the new Golf R on the racetrack, yet you may see in a bit that it shines on the track

There is more power (310hp) and a lot more torque of 400Nm (also in first gear) with the new optional 7-speed-dsg - the standard six-speed-gearbox is limited to 380 Nm

And how all that and the Performance Package work together we'll see on track

I already set the car to "Race" Mode and ESP Sport

We already tried driving with all stability programs shut down, however it's fast leaving it in ESC Sport

With the Performance Package we do get the Michelin Cup 2 tires and that is what the Golf R needed

The Cup 2 Tires really work in the track, give us more traction and less wheel spin

And there is more such as the bigger, better brake system (front axle) from the GTI Clubsport S

The older model would have struggled this long straight after a few rounds

The Clubsport S brakes were developed and tested on the Nurburgring Nordschleife

It copes way better with the heat and doesn't fade after a few hot laps

The all-wheel drive system works also better (with the Cup 2 tires) especially exiting a turn

Speaking of the Performance this generation Golf R is a lot better than its predecessor

And this is much linked to the optional Performance Package

So everyone that likes playing on track with the Golf R should think about purchasing this Performance Pack

As always in life, what's fun cost much more than the basic stuff

It's the same with the new Golf R, we were only able to drive this fully equipped car and not the standard model for about 40,000 EUR (GERMANY)

And sadly (for your bank account) all that options make a lot of sense and even more fun and most important the make the Golf R much better

The better tires, the better brakes and yes the loud, but expensive Akrapovic exhaust are all extras that are worth the money

And now to end this Review we would like to know how you like the new Golf R?

Would you either go for the Golf R or the Golf GTI?

Please use the comment section below to let us know

VAI DEFENDER A PRISCILLA? - Duration: 5:00.

Yo

You all right? You all right?

Alright.

As you know, today is Monday

And it's video day on this channel

And, like every Monday, 11.30am

We discuss several different subjects

And every Thursday we have travelling vlogs

And now I'm going to Scotland

I'm preaching the gospel in Scotland

So, every Thursday, don't forget to keep up with

The Adventures of the Kingdom of God on Earth

Someone sent me a message this week that got me a bit

They said I was ommit [There's been a huge controversy in Brazil]

Because I didn't say what I should have said [Over the past week after the Christian singer]

About Priscilla going to Lollapalooza [Priscilla Alcântara attended the Lollapalooza Festival]

Mate, dude, really, seriously, I had to control myself and, mate

Do you wanna know what really got me over this week?

Last week, I met with the persecuted Christians

The ones who had to run away from their countries

The ones under death threats

Who had to leave their families, their belongings

They left everything behind because they would die otherwise

Last week, I was on the streets everyday, talking to different people

From different cultures, and I realised the complications of multiculturalism, you know?

Not everyone thinks like us

In Brazil, people still have this very Christian mind

But the world out here is completely different

I spoke to the English youth, mate

From this country that used to sent dozens of missionaries around the world

But now I hear them saying that Mary was a prostitute and a great liar

Who cheated on her husband and told a lie that lasted 2,000 years

That's what the English Youth says, mate

And on the week that I saw all of this

And all I could think was that we had to do something

What are we gonna do, how are we gonna win this people

The Brazilian church needs to know what's going on

The Youth needs to know that the world is lost

And that there's young people thinking like that

They don't care about anything, their hearts are dead cold

On the same week that I was desperate, preaching the gospel

Trying to figure out what to do

Most of the Brazilian Young Church

Was discussing if it's lawful or not to go to a music festival

I was really, oh man, that can't be, mate

I'm guessing you guys have no other problem in life

You can't see what's happening in the world

You can't see, I don't know, you have nothing else to do

To spend so much time discussing trivialities

You still haven't realised that 10 out of 10 people die

You still haven't figured that out

Do you wanna know what offends me the most, mate? What, really, ugh.

It's this Faith of ours

That we can't go past the point of "Should I stay or should I go?"

It seems like it's still an option

It seems like your heart still considers it

We still haven't crucified ourselves

It's like the gospel still hasn't won us

The gospel it's still not burning in our bones

We're still worrying if we're departing from the Faith or not

Crikey!

The world is falling apart, and you're still worrying about you leaving Jesus or not?

Mate, I'm guessing you haven't converted yet, right?

There is far more important things to worry about, mate

But we can't move on from this point of "Oh..."

"Could I ever depart from the Faith?"

For goodness' sake, if you depart, ugh

For goodness' sake, mate, hasn't Jesus already won your heart?

Could it be that the Cross isn't enough for you?

Aren't you standing upon this Rock?

Haven't you been won by this Love?

Are you still worrying that you might give up, mate?

If you keep focusing on the things you can't do, mate

You'll keep doing them

Focus on what you have to do

On what Jesus is doing, be where He is

The world is falling apart and I gotta do something!

So, when you start worrying about saving the world

You won't fall away, mate, you won't depart

You'll understand what really matters

And you'll be discussing other things

Now, are you really gonna do to Priscilla the same they did to Jesus?

Because Jesus had dinner at Zacchaeus' house

Do you know who Zacchaeus was?

It was an insult for people that Jesus went there

But He did it so now we're gonna burn Him

Understand this: Priscilla is a performer, she was born in that midst

She grew up on TV, these are the people she has to reach

And that's what she's doing

Instead of being the church that supports, prays, intercedes

That encourages her, you go girl

When I saw that she'd gone to Lollapalooza, I went "YES!"

There's someone there!

There's someone, there's someone there!

And it's not just anyone in the crowd

She's in the midst of the celebrities, these guys need God

I was so happy, because there was someone there, mate!

Now you're still worried about falling away

I don't get it.

We gotta leave this shallowness

And surrender ourselves to the gospel, until is consumes us whole

I'm sorry for such an attitude

But I've been watching a decaying world

And we're still worrying about our own salvation

I can't, I can't

I can't.

We gotta move to a new level of Gospel

This can't be a possibility for you

It can't, are you crazy, are you mad?

There is a King, sitting on the Throne

This King is coming back, and I'm gonna meet Him

And if I have to die for this cause, I will

This is living.

For goodness' sake.

How long, how long, how long are we gonna keep so trivial?

Let's go, let's go change this world.

See, see, see'ya.

Trovare la tonalità di una canzone (how to find key of song) - Duration: 6:00.

There is an easy and approved 100% method to find the key of a song, using chords and in particular the 3 major chords used in the song

let's take, for example, a classic song like Knocking on heaven's door whose chords are G, D, Am, C

this song could also have other chords like Em and Bm

But we must only consider major chords

So we take G, D and C

So, among these 3 chords, 2 are close together cause are separated by a tone (only one), in fact C + 1 tone = D

then we must esclude these ones and take the other, G. The song's key is G

summarise: 2 chords are close together separated by a tone, so we must exclude them and take the other chord remained that coincides with the key of song

this happens because every scale has chords and the major ones are in first, fourth and fifth grade

the first is the tonic note that calls the scale

going on in the scale we have: 2-A, 3-B, 4-C, 5-D, 6-E, 7-F# (T+T+S+T+T+T+S)

4th is C and 5th is D, in these notes we have 2 major chords

so if the first note is G and here we have G major chord,

second and third chords are minor, then fourth and fifth are major and finally 6th and 7th grade are minor (7 is a Bdim)

all this to explain that if 3 chords are major, 2 of them are close together cause are 4th and 5th

so the last major chord remained is that on first grade on which is made the scale and that give the name of key (here is G)

If we know the key of a song we can improvise with a pentatonic pattern

in this case we can play on G scale, using pentatonic pattern in Em

this happens cause E minor scale is just equal to G major scale

in fact using the pentatonic pattern in E minor we can improvise on a song with key=Em or Gmajor

in particular E minor scale is made by the 6th grade of G major one (t+t+s+t+ T +t+s)

here we have to create the pentatonic box 3 keys before the note of song's key

G - 3 keys: E. Here the pattern starts

IMPROVISATION EXAMPLE

let's do another example, taking a song like Wonderwall

chords are: Em, G, D, A

major chords are G,D,A... so the key is?

G is near A (G+ tone = A), so the song's key is D major

let's move on D, then move 3 keys back and here, on B, the pattern starts

this was my method, i don't know if it already existed

i hope you have understand all because finding a song's key is a basic point to play everithing. See you next time!

Veja como preparar água de chia com limão para emagrecer, entre outros benefícios - Duration: 3:34.

Combine sizzles with lemon juice and you will these benefits

Did you know that lemon is a super fruit?

And the chia seed is a super?

Imagine using the two foods in the same recipe?

This is what we teach now.

Lemon juice when mixed with chia a drink becomes richer and refreshing.

It has potent compounds which help to receive the body and has a large

percent antioxidant.

Purifies the body and also facilitates loss of weight.

Today we can find chia seeds easily in the trade since they are already well

known to many people, especially for those concerned with the welfare.

Chia seeds are a major source fatty acids such as omega 3, important

to the brain and heart.

Fatty acids are necessary for the absorption of vitamins A, D, E and K and

normal glandular activity, especially for the adrenals and thyroid gland.

They also nourish the skin and are essential to leave healthy mucous membranes and nerves, as well

as for the normal operation of the system reproductive.

It may also be important in reducing cholesterol deposits.

The outer layer of the seed is rich in fiber and soluble mucilage.

Insoluble fiber eliminate toxins from colon walls.

The chia contains five times more calcium the milk; three times more iron than

spinach; fifteen times more magnesium than broccoli; two times more potassium than

banana; three times more antioxidants bilberry.

It is also rich in manganese and boron (which also It is fundamental to the bones).

Lemon is a powerful alkalizing or is, basified and regulates blood pH.

Many people do not understand it because it holds the taste of lemon acid.

It is acidic in flavor, but when alkaline absorbed by the body.

To summarize, we can say that the main lemon juice with chia benefits are

these:

- It is rich in fiber and vitamin C

- Improves circulation and provides more energy

- Fights free radicals and prevents aging precocious

- Helps protect the skin from UV rays and pollution

- Provides elasticity and firmness to skin

- Detoxifies the body

- Aids digestion

HOW TO PREPARE

Place 1 tablespoon (soup) of chia in 1 cup Water (200 mL).

Stir and let stand for 5 minutes.

Again stir and let stand for now 10 minutes.

After these steps, squeeze 1 lemon over the glass with chia and water.

Stir and consume immediately.

Take a drink on an empty stomach or 2 hours before meals or 2 hours after.

RIT on TV: Dealing with Electronic Waste - Duration: 3:49.

>> Joining us now is Eric Williams.

He's an associate professor at the Golisano Institute for Sustainability at the Rochester

Institute of Technology in New York.

He's live via Skype from there.

What would you say the opportunities are that e-waste presents in terms of recycling?

>> Electronic waste is very different from other things we use the word waste for.

In many cases electronic waste is still functional or can be easily repaired when someone wants

the device.

So a considerable industry in both the developed and developing world is engaging in repairing

and reselling this end of life electronics.

This is relevant to the digital divide.

The digital divide is the idea that information technology widens the gap between developed

and developing worlds.

Now while the digital divide is very complicated, the cost of electronics is an issue.

So if you can't afford a computer, you can't learn how to use one.

So millions of people around the world have gotten access to this equipment due to this

repair and reuse industry.

So I think the opportunity is how to get the most economic and social value out of these

end of life electronics.

>> Tell us about the environmental impacts both of e-waste itself and the trading of

e-waste between countries because this is something that is going on right now.

>> Sure.

So there is a downside.

The problem is you have these very valuable materials in e-waste such as gold and copper.

And it's mixed into the devices in a very complicated way, so it's very technologically

challenging to get it out in an environmentally safe way.

And so what happens is it ends up in the hands of these informal recyclers in the developing

world who don't have the technology and then use very destructive processes to recycle

it.

For example wires.

With wires, you want the copper inside, but you don't want the insulation.

So there are machines that could chop the wire up and can sort them into copper and

casings, but when you don't have the machine, what people are doing is piling those up and

then setting the insulation on fire.

Insulation is a chlorine-containing plastic.

When you burn it there's very bad environmental pollution and this is causing substantial

harm in these areas.

So there are also problems with recycling circuit boards.

People use cyanide and acids to get the gold out.

>> In what ways can we do a better job of tackling the e-waste challenge?

>> As was mentioned earlier in the program, one of the main ways governments are trying

to tackle this is trade bands.

And the idea is that much of these electronics is coming from the developed to the developing

world, and if we stop that flow, then it will solve the problem.

The problem is that if you run the numbers, most of the e-waste is being generated in

the developing world rather than the developed.

So even if you succeed in cutting off that trade, you won't solve the problem.

So I think there is a need for direct intervention to do better at dealing with the impacts of

informal recycling.

Thank you so much for talking with us.

We are celebrating!

60 weeks on the road!

We've shared our Traveling Mate with 8 countries and 4 continents

With different results ranging from total rejection, to warm diplomatic acceptance

We travel in almost every type of transport

Plane

Car

Motorcycle

Bicycle

Tuc - tuc

Van

Chiva, taxi, uber, grab, blablacar

Bus

Train

Boat, ferry

Kayak

Walking

And more...

In that year, one month and 26 days, we slept in 67 different beds

What gives an average of 6 days per bed

We cooked gnocchi on 3 continents and potato tortillas in 4

We gained weight but then compensated with loss of luggage

For different reasons, we changed suitcases 6 times. We lowered our luggage weight from 23 to 9kg

We changed the guitar, bought a cajonito and we broke the eardrums to many people

We made crafts and even dared create our own boring travel blog

We had the privilege of meeting incredible animals in their own habitat

Kangaroos

Koalas

Elephants

Iguanas

Birds of all types, color and size

Monkeys

Deers

Komodo Dragons

And a wild pig of which there is no record, but who converted a visit to the bathroom into a nightmare

We also missed many others, not to endorse animal abuse and to be consistent with responsible tourism that we defend

We made...

...many friends!

And we learned to say THANK YOU in 6 languages

We still can't believe everything we lived and what we learned during the trip

We consider ourselves enormously fortunate and that is why we will never cease to say THANK YOU

Thanks to the family, to the old and new friends and thanks to the universe for aligning the planets so that we crossed our paths

The best is that there is much to go

Thanks for joining us!

2017 VW Golf R Akrapovic Test / Performance Paket / Rennstrecke (ENGLISH Subtitles) - Autophorie - Duration: 6:00.

Poker Rule #1: To Win, Don't Privilege Your Gut Instincts | Poker Champ Liv Boeree - Duration: 4:17.

So I guess the thing you have to think about in any given poker situation is that you're

dealing with a lot of uncertainty, and it's all about how to make the best decision in

any given moment.

So the first rule of thumb is how to extract the most money or chips from your opponent

when you have a strong hand, and how to lose the minimum when you have a weak hand.

And you're never going to be a hundred percent certain where you are: Are you beating them

or do you have a worse hand?

So you have to sort of construct a strategy that is mathematically optimal in each situation.

Well, I guess people tend to think of intuition as their gut instinct and my rule of thumb

in poker is to only fall on my gut instinct if my sort of logical, my slow brain, the

system two as it's sometimes called, has not come to any conclusive answer.

A lot of people are tempted to go, "This is too tricky, I don't know!" and then go,

"Yeah, well, my gut instinct says this; I'm going to go with that."

But the best thing to do is to work with both, your sort of slow brain and that gut.

Say you were playing against your opponent and you've noticed that actually they're

someone who's very solid, they never seem to bluff, and you might have a hand that you

would normally call with (say 90 percent of the time), but you know this guy, he's just

never bluffing, never doing it.

Well, actually this might be one of those rare situations where you do throw your hand

in the muck, where you have a very strong feeling that you're just not calling; even

though mathematically it says it should call, you shouldn't do it.

I guess the art part of poker is when you have these flashes of inspiration where you

need to deviate from the math, and the science is knowing whether that deviation is the right

thing to do at the time.

When it comes to your intuition as a poker player I would say do use it from time to

time, but it should not be your starting point.

You, as a rule of thumb, should always go for the slow "system two" analysis, see

what answer that comes up with, and then also to check in with your gut.

Say you're in a really big hand, and your opponent has bet, often I'll have an instinctive

response; I'll be like, "Oh that's a bluff," or "they have a really strong hand," and

I'll make a note of it, I won't just go with that answer.

I'll go, "Okay now let's work through the mathematics, let's look sort of through all

the other bits of information: what have they done on other cards?" and so on, and then

see if those two answers match up."

Now, if they both match up, great, I've got an easy decision, but if one is giving a conflicting

answer to the other, then usually you tend to rely on the sort of the mathematic/logic

part.

However, it's really, really close with the mathematics, then I'll fall back on that gut

instinct.

But as a rule of thumb your gut is not as reliable as you think.

You often see these like memes on the Internet, which is just like, "Always go with your

gut!

Trust your instincts!" and so on.

And I personally think that's a copout.

I think that's often the lazy way out for when we are faced with a really tough decision

in life, of just going, "well… answer X."

Our brains they love to simplify things, to do things in black-and-white, but we live

in a very complex world, and that's not always the best route to take.

So in a nutshell, your gut instincts can be useful, but as a last resort.

We've evolved of these amazing brains for a reason, so we should be using them.

Coal is dying, and Trump can't save it But there are much better alternatives for coal country and o - Duration: 19:07.

Coal is dying, and Trump cant save it But there are much better alternatives for coal

country and our economy

Donald Trump is wrong again its not government regulation thats killing off

the coal industry.

Its the marketplace.

Even if that could be reversed, todays coal mining is much less labor-intensive.

It would never be a jobs bonanza.

The idea that coal is suffering from some enviro-radical war on coal may still

sell to the fake news crowd, but in the real world coals share in power-generation continues

its long-term decline, supercharged by cheap natural gas as much as by government action.

As noted by Devashree Saha of the Brookings Institution in December:

In 2000, coal accounted for 51.7 percent of electricity generation, compared with just

15.8 percent for natural gas.

By 2015, coals share had dropped to 33.2 percent, while natural gas rose to 32.7 percent

of total generation.

Beyond that, theres the dramatic development of renewables, the undisputed fuels of the

future.

As Bloomberg News explained last April:

Government subsidies have helped wind and solar get a foothold in global power markets,

but economies of scale are the true driver of falling prices: The cost of solar power

has fallen to 1/150th of its level in the 1970s, while the total amount of installed

solar has soared 115,000-fold.

[Chart.]

Sure, government policies have played some role in coals decline, but not the predominant

one.

Even old-fashioned bottom-line capitalists have no good reason to throw in with Trump

on this fight their money is increasingly going to renewable energy.

Renewables are beating fossil fuels 2 to 1? in power capacity investments, Bloomberg

noted.

[Chart.]

And, of course, if you include the social costs of coal especially the premature

deaths that run into the tens of thousands each year it becomes ridiculously expensive,

like almost everything Trump puts his name on.

Consider the most recent release of the Sustainable Energy in America Factbook, earlier this year.

It reported the following:

Since 1990, more than 90 percent of cumulative generating capacity additions has been renewable

energy or natural gas, and, in the past 10 years, over half (54 percent) of total additions

have been dedicated to renewable energy resources.

At the same time, the retirement of coal-fired power plants continues to shrink that fuels

contribution to the power mix: 2016 saw 7 gigawatts of coal-fired capacity disconnect

from the grid, after a record 15 GW retired in 2015.

Another 12 GW are currently scheduled to retire within the next five years.

These retirements are due to a confluence of factors, including competition from low-priced

natural gas and aging boilers.

As a result, coal provides a smaller share of U.S. power than ever recorded, with only

30 percent of electricity generated by coal-fired units in 2016.

This figure contrasts with 48 percent in 2008 and represents the lowest share held by coal

in at least the past 70 years.

Furthermore, the report continues, the retirement of coal-fired power plants and the construction

of replacement plants fueled by natural gas, wind or solar is a structural change that,

to use technical language, should assure some permanency to U.S. decarbonization.

In plain English, coal is dying.

The death of coal is a long-term process, to be sure: Last year marked the first moment

when natural gas generation overtook coal, and short-term market fluctuations could reverse

that temporarily.

But the long-term trends are clear: Coal is in long-term decline, and the best thing we

can do about it is manage it more wisely and compassionately especially regarding the

coal miners Trump pretends to love, rather than the coal investors his Commerce Secretary

Wilbur Ross, most notably with whom his loyalty actually lies.

The decline in coals market share wreaked havoc in the industry, as reflected in two

stories from SNL Financial in June 2015.

One reported that, The market value of publicly traded U.S. coal companies was sliced

nearly in half over the past year, falling almost 50% since August 2014 amid deep market

turbulence. The other found that more than three dozen coal operations have been

forced into bankruptcy in just over three years. It went on to explain:

A review of bankruptcy filings by SNL Energy found that most of the operators turning to

the bankruptcy courts in the U.S. are primarily doing so in Central Appalachia.

The coal mining region has been hardest hit by market pressures as the regions increasingly

difficult geology has left neighboring coal basins with a competitive advantage as the

entire sector battles increased regulatory scrutiny, weak export markets and inexpensive

natural gas.

Ross is one of the very few whos made out handsomely in this situation.

In a December post for Random Lengths News, I wrote:

Ross is actually a specialist in making money of off stripping once-vibrant economic sectors

 primarily steelmaking, coal-mining and textiles.

For example, on Sept. 24, 2004, Rosss International Coal Group a conglomeration of investors

along with A.T.

Massey Coal Co. shut down six union mines taken over from Horizon Natural Resources

in a bankruptcy proceeding, while keeping its non-union mines open.

International Coal Group paid $786 million for the mines, but only because a federal

bankruptcy judge voided $800 million in health insurance benefits owed by Horizon to more

than 3,000 active and retired United Mine Workers of America union members.

How does this sort of mentality translate into taking care of miners and bringing back

their jobs?

Short answer: it doesnt.

Dont believe me.

Believe Robert Murray, who is the founder and CEO of Murray Energy, the largest privately

held coal mining company in the U.S. Murray sued to block Obamas Clean Power Plan,

and is personally pleased with Trump, whom he recently met with.

But a recent Guardian headline said it all: Top US coal boss Robert Murray: Trump cant

bring mining jobs back. The story explained:

Trump has consistently pledged to restore mining jobs, but many of those jobs were lost

to technology rather than regulation and to competition from natural gas and renewables,

which makes it unlikely that he can do much to significantly grow the number of jobs in

the industry, said Murray.

I suggested that he temper his expectations.

Those are my exact words, said Murray.

He cant bring them back.

But thats all right or at least it could be, on two main counts: First, renewables

are a source of many more jobs, and second, coal mining is so harmful that easing out

of it with a sensible transition plan would leave everyone in coal country better off

in the end.

On the job front, Kristen Kleiman, writing for the Climate Trust, laid out the basics:

In 2010, there were approximately 86,000 coal mining jobs that equates to a loss of

almost 30,000 workers in less than a decade.

Contrast that rate with the jobs created by a low carbon economy.

In 2010, renewable energy accounted for about 175,000 U.S. jobs.

According to a recent U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) report, as of January 2017, that figure

had grown to almost 800,000 workers employed in low carbon electricity generation.

Most of the job growth in renewables can be attributed to solar and wind development.

Of those 800,000 jobs, 374,000 were in solar and 102,000 in wind for a total of 475,000

jobs more than two and a half times the number of jobs six years ago.

And the outlook is positive.

The DOE reports solar employment increased by 25% in 2016, while wind employment increased

by 32%.

These new jobs are not just good for those who get them, but for their communities, too:

Growth in the solar industry means the creation of blue-collar jobs that stay local and cannot

be outsourced to other countries.

These professions involve locally based workers who, in turn, spend their money locally.

And, importantly, jobs are in suburban and semi-rural areas where jobs are needed the

most.

Of course laid-off workers from a dying industry need government support transitioning into

a growing one.

Government has a key role to play.

But that role is working to facilitate moving everyone together in the direction the market

is already taking us.

As Kleiman notes, Massachusetts is the 26th sunniest state but ranks second in solar employment,

with more than 15,000 jobs in 2016.

The reason:

Because the state provided progressive tax and feed-in tariff incentives to bolster a

renewable energy industry which, in turn, provided much-needed jobs in manufacturing

and in trades like plumbing and electricity.

Over half of Massachusetts solar jobs were in installation and 14% in manufacturing,

with an average hourly wage of $21.

In contrast, the two most sun-drenched states, Arizona and New Mexico, rank 7th and 27th

in solar jobs respectively, she notes.

They had all the natural advantages, but without the right incentives to attract early-stage

capital, they have largely missed the boat. The longer politicians cling to the past,

and ignore the future, the more they will cheat people out of opportunities, the way

these two states have done.

But theres another dimension to the argument, as J. Mijin Cha explained recently in the

American Prospect:

From a climate perspective, there is no doubt that coal mining should be phased out.

Yet it is also true that coal mining should be phased out to protect workers and communities.

From the beginning, coal mining exploited workers and communities.

For nearly 70 years in the post-Civil War South, tens of thousands of incarcerated men

were forced to work in coal mines.

The vast majority were black men convicted of minor offenses or Black Code statute

violations that were passed to reassert white control in the aftermath of the Civil War.

The pay was atrocious less than a dollar a day and none of it went to the miners

themselves.

In addition to prisoners, child labor was exploited as well.

Social progress in mining was a long, slow process.

While the Bureau of Mines was established in 1910, it was not given authority to inspect

mines until 1941, Cha notes.

Even to this day, safety violations run rampant:

A 2014 NPR and Mine Safety and Health News investigation found that over the preceding

20 years, thousands of mine operators failed to pay safety penalties; indeed, most unpaid

penalties were between two and ten years overdue.

Among the studys findings, the 2,700 mining company owners failed to pay almost $70 million

in delinquent penalties and mines that didnt pay their penalties had a 50 percent higher

injury rate.

And then theres black lung disease, which, after a long period of decline following passage

of the 1969 Coal Mine Health and Safety Act, is now rising again.

Black lung disease is being seen in miners younger than 50, Cha notes.

The inability of the 1969 act to protect these coal miners from a lifelong debilitating

disease indicates that the legislations protections are inadequate to the conditions

in todays mines or, as evidenced by the high level of safety violations, are not being

enforced or both.

Historically, the United Mineworkers of America has played a key role in making mines safe,

and the union remains an important factor.

A Stanford University study published in 2012 found that unionized mines were substantially

safer than non-unionized mines.

Among the findings, the study found that unionization predicts an 18 percent to 33 percent drop

in traumatic injuries and a 27 percent to 68 percent drop in fatalities.

However, the number of mines that are unionized is on the decline.

For the first time in nearly a century, unionized mines have completely disappeared in Kentucky.

As already noted, Trumps commerce aecretary has helped contribute to this increasingly

dangerous situation.

There is simply no history of concern for miners welfare to be found on the industry

side, or in the Trump administration.

In fact, the negative health impacts of coal mining stretch far beyond what has traditionally

been recognized.

In Appalachia, the costs associated outweigh the economic benefits for the region as a

whole, and are concentrated where production is highest.

More than a decade ago, Michael Hendryx began a series of studies of coals health impacts

in Appalachia.

His 2009 paper, Mortality in Appalachian Coal Mining Regions: The Value of Statistical

Life Lost co-authored with Melissa Ahern, examined elevated mortality rates in Appalachian

coal mining areas for 19792005, and concluded that the human cost of the Appalachian

coal mining economy outweighs its economic benefits. (The value of a statistical life

has been calculated by a number of different methods, all reflecting the value that people

themselves place on putting their lives at risk.)

This work drew the attention of Harvard researchers, and in 2011, Hendryx and Ahern joined a team

of 11 researchers, headed by Paul Epstein, publishing an exhaustive study, Full cost

accounting for the life cycle of coal, which included a much broader accounting of

the costs involved, including damage due to climate change, public health damage from

air pollution, fatalities due to rail accidents transporting coal, the public health burden

in Appalachia due to coal mining, government subsidies and the lost value of abandoned

mine lands.

The researchers estimated that the life cycle effects of coal and the waste stream

generated are costing the public $300 billion to $500 billion every year.

Accounting for the damages conservatively doubles to triples the price of electricity

from coal per kWh generated, making wind, solar, and other forms of non fossil fuel

power generation, along with investments in efficiency and electricity conservation methods,

economically competitive.

Of course, wind and solar costs have continued to fall dramatically since then, and are now

fully competitive or better, even without considering the externalized costs.

Now that market forces by themselves favor shifting away from coal, it should clearly

be governments responsibility not to fight the inevitable, but to ensure the most just

and equitable transition.

Toward this end, Cha points to a plan developed by Robert Pollin and Brian Callaci that

would ensure a just transition away from a polluting economy for fossil fuel workers.

Their article describing the plan last year argued: A combination of better jobs and

pensions will remove one political obstacle to a green transition and its the right

thing to do. It is, they say, both a matter of simple justice and a matter of strategic

politics.

Given the justified political resistance if nothing is done, they write:

It follows that the global climate stabilization project must unequivocally commit to providing

generous transitional support for workers and communities tied to the fossil fuel industry.

The late U.S. labor leader and environmental visionary Tony Mazzocchi pioneered thinking

on what is now termed a Just Transition for these workers and communities.

As Mazzocchi wrote as early as 1993, Paying people to make the transition from one kind

of economy to another is not welfare.

Those who work with toxic materials on a daily basis in order to provide the world with

the energy and the materials it needs deserve a helping hand to make a new start in life.

This is particularly true in light of how many burdens and broken promises these workers

have already been made to bear, and are still bearing today.

Pollin and Callaci estimate that their just transition program would cost $500 million

per year, about 1 percent of the annual $50 billion in new public investment that

will be needed to advance a successful overall U.S. climate stabilization program. That

modest annual commitment would pay for income, retraining, and relocation support

for workers facing retrenchments as well as effective transition programs for what are

now fossil fueldependent communities.

Thats pocket change in federal budget terms.

Indeed, the authors point out it could be raised simply by setting aside some of the

gains the federal government itself is expected to reap by raising its own efficiency standards,

which are expected to save about $1.3 billion a year:

So the heavy lift here is not paying the cost of a just transition.

Its the cost of not paying it a cost were paying right now.

Were paying it in all the ways that calculated by Epstein, Hendryx, Ahern and their colleagues,

and in ways that cant be counted as well.

Those other ways have contributed to the poisoning of our body politic, along with the poisoning

of our air and water.

Its time we stopped paying the deadly price for coal, and began paying the price for a

more humane and efficient future.

BRIAN COX EXPLAINS WHY WE HAVEN'T SEEN ALIENS YET – AND IT ISN'T PRETTY - Duration: 2:22.

BRIAN COX EXPLAINS WHY WE HAVEN'T SEEN ALIENS YET AND IT ISN'T PRETTY

Physicist Brian Cox weighed in one of the most curious questions: Given the high probability

of extraterrestrial life existing in massive unending universes, why have we not seen clear

evidence of this?

This question was advanced for the first time by the Italian physicist Enrico Fermi in the

1950s, in what is now known as the Fermi paradox.

He claimed there is a contradiction between the high probability of extraterrestrial life

and existing the total absence of concrete evidence that intelligent life has never evolved

outside the Earth.

"Where is everyone?"

He asked.

So, Professor Cox thinks he might have the answer.

But he's not too cheerful.

According to the Sunday Times, Cox said: "A solution for Fermi's paradox is that it is

not possible to operate a world that has the power to destroy itself and needs global collaboration

solutions To prevent this.

" Yes, there is a chance for the most part, wipe the strangers themselves through political

turmoil before they ever get enough advanced to launch an interstellar exploration.

He added: "It may be that the growth of science and engineering inevitably goes beyond the

development of political expertise, leading to catastrophe.

We could have come to that position."

Audi S5 Sportback 2017 review - Duration: 9:34.

This is the ideal car right?

This is the S5

which is more than S4.

You would think that a S6 would be better, but it's only larger.

So that is too much.

It isn't an urban sportscar.

And for the small polder roads it isn't suitable either.

This is the holy grail of Audi driving.

And the RS5? Thats just for show-offs.

So maybe Casper should drive that.

This is truly an ideal car.

I like the number 5.

Sadly though

it only has 4 S5 badges.

So something must have gone wrong there.

Because I do have one S here and here and a few on the sills.

But those only say S, not S5.

Probably for weight-saving

but cost-saving may be the biggest reason.

What more can I say about this S5.

It has lost approximately the weight of Linda the Mol.

She weighs 82 kilograms, as you all know.

Quite

a lot of kilograms to lose for a car.

It is 85 kilograms lighter in total.

And quite peculiar is

it no longer has the 3 litre supercharger with the S-tronic, which has the double clutch system

like this, double, double.

It no longer has the gearbox with a double clutch

and no more V6 supercharged

but a V6, still 3 litres

with a single turbo.

With a regular automatic gearbox.

The 8-speed ZF gearbox

that is used in many other cars.

And it works well.

But interesting to see that they are totally switching.

The output of the engines is amazing

354 horsepower and 500 Nm torque

are great numbers!

So 0-100 takes under 5 seconds.

4,7 To be exact.

Top-speed as usual is 250 kilometres an hour.

And what is great as well

is that this car scores great in the NDDC test cycles

so according to those numbers the car is quite economical as well.

Of course this is not true in real life.

But the tests are great.

Optional are the 19 inch rims

at about 2500 euros.

And in addition to that, another 1400 euros in car taxes

because of the extra pollution.

This is what has become of the Netherlands

for the Belgians and other foreigners watching.

For the extra three grams of CO2,

The Netherlands charge you another 1500 euros in taxes.

So that is about 500 euros for each gram CO2.

Absolutely ridiculous.

You might wonder

why I'm standing next to this dung hill.

And I'm not sure as well, so I'm leaving.

Let me just move my seat a little bit forward so you can see.

Look, the S5 Coupé is great

but it is for narcissists.

This is a car for people

A little further, not that comfortable anymore.

But you can take friends and kids along with you in this car.

But it is still a sporty car.

Let's overtake this car, this guy is annoying me a lot.

It's a woman..

That explains it.

A part of the reason why you can throw this car around so well

is the latest generation Quattro 4 wheel drive system.

Bla bla bla, its magnificent of course.

This car has the optional sports differential as well.

Which uses torque-vectoring as well.

It's interesting because I don't think you car drift this car so well

unless you are driving on an ice lake or something.

But the balance feels like you can.

It feels like the rear wants to break out.

I really like that.

It gives a real confident feeling.

The understeer was a big surprise for me.

I didn't experience it with this car at all.

Which is quite bizarre for a fast Audi.

But it just isn't there.

As for the interior

the beautiful display in front of us.

And the amazing navigation system.

I read something about that, sometimes the test cars with all these online options

and when you try those it requests a SIM-card

or to connect your phone to the car.

Very complicated.

But Audi includes 3 years service for every function in the navigation system

and the data is paid for.

And you can use it all througout Europe.

Great service.

Vorsprung durch Technik!

Which brings us to the main question.

Should you buy the S4 or the S5?

This is of course the Sportback

and I think it's really good looking.

This colour is a bit boring.

About half of the people will like the colour

and the other half may find it hideous.

But the car itself is just very cool.

Just like the previous S5, which was very cool as well.

Audi did that very well.

I just don't get the same feeling with the BMW Gran Coupé.

I prefer the 3-series.

While with Audi, I prefer the A5/S5 to the A4.

But that is because 5 is just better than 4.

You may wonder why we are here.

Well, to watch waves of course.

There are waves behind me.

I'm talking about waves that erupt when you jump into your bathtub in your bathroom.

But also on the Audi S5 Sportback

which has a wave on the side.

And this accentuates the sculpture of the wheel arches.

Which highlights the fact that this car has Quattro.

I didn't make this up, this was mentioned in the press release.

There were more hilarious things in the press release.

This car is 11 millimetres longer in the interior.

If you put on a thick sweater this is already gone.

So you can either sit in this one in a thick sweater

or with a thin one in the previous S5 Sportback.

And it has one of the biggest boots of cars in the same class.

Which are hatchbacks

based on a coupe.

Which have a lot of horsepower as well.

I think there is only 1.

Which apparently has a bigger boot.

This one does have the most Quattro logos in the rims, optional, in its class.

And the lowest Cw value of its class.

And significantly more Audi badges than any other car in its class.

One final thing I should discuss.

Which is the price, it's 62.500 euros.

Which isn't a lot of money, is one of the responses I'm expecting.

But that is the German price.

In the Netherlands its 18.000 euros more expensive.

So thats, lets peek, 80.920 base price.

This one, which has about everything

like the panorama roof, massage seats

the 19 inch wheels including the CO2 punishment tax

comes to a total of 111.000 euros.

Which is a lot of money.

But it's very good looking.

While I'm stuck in traffic, you guys can think about why, at 3:22, I was getting out of the back of this S5 Sportback.

Meet The Managers #6 | Sayat from Turkey | Top Eleven - Duration: 3:23.

My name is Sayat Tekir, and I'm from Istanbul.

I am doing my Master's thesis at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in sociology and writing.

I also broadcast once a week on Nor Radio.

I've been playing Top Eleven since 25 August 2010.

I start playing Top Eleven when I wake up.

One thing that attracts me to the game is that it is not dependent on me,

I am dependent on the game.

We play not when we want to play, but when the game wants us to play.

When I went to the marriage office with my fiancée to fix a date for our wedding,

I also had a really important match at the same time.

So when we got there I went to the toilet immediately,

played the game, washed my hands and got out.

Next month we're getting married and I hope there won't be any important games during the wedding.

We can really see the development of Top Eleven since 2010.

People are putting in valuable work.

What I like most about Top Eleven is that tactics have become more important in the last few years.

I think choosing Mourinho as the face of the game is also based on this value,

which has been given to tactical strategy.

I like reading books about football and sports,

since I'm also fond of reading.

I'm trying to get myself to play football once or twice a week.

I am a Fenerbahçe fan since childhood.

My father used to take me to the matches when I was a child.

Football has become so industrialized, it has lost so much of its amateur soul.

My club's name is Soviet United, and my stadium is called Ernesto Che Guevara Stadium.

Soviet United's story is not a story full of success,

it is more a story of persistence and struggle.

But with the game being improved and giving tactics more importance,

and me spending more time in the game, I have brought a lot of success.

First I won the Cup and now I have been League champion 5 seasons in a row.

The last 2 seasons I won the Champions League and the League title.

Soviet United doesn't like defensive football,

but doesn't like to concede goals and is very fond of scoring.

In football I adopted a style that is almost a mixture of Mourinho and Guardiola.

But in this game I would defeat both Mourinho and Guardiola.

Why This "Zero Calorie Sweetener" Isn't Zero Calories - Duration: 4:18.

Last time I did a run of guest videos,

we had an enthusiastic young presenter talking about food science

and backing it up with an experiment.

Well, we are doing it again!

Alex, from Technicality Studios, it's all yours.

This is Splenda.

It's known as a zero-calorie sweetener or a healthy replacement for sugar.

"Splenda no calorie sweetener, with the original sugar-like taste you love and trust."

Hold up.

Wait a minute.

How is this even possible?

Have you ever thought to yourself it's a little strange that a food has zero calories?

Can any even have that?

Well, yes.

It's theoretically possible.

Think of it this way.

If you, say, eat plastic, nothing really will happen.

Plastic has zero usable calories.

If you eat it, you can't take energy from it.

Don't eat plastic, by the way.

This is just an example.

So, before answering how many calories Splenda really has, if any,

we first have to answer if Splenda has any usable calories at all.

How do we do that?

Well, when we eat and digest sugar, or sucrose,

our body turns it into glucose and fructose.

Fructose is delivered to your liver and promptly turned into glucose,

and glucose is the stuff your body uses as energy.

To find out if there's any calories in this packet of Splenda,

we have to find out if there's any glucose in this packet of Splenda

and finding that's easy, or at least,

it seemed easy after my chemistry teacher explained that to me like 20 times.

We'll do two experiments.

For the first experiment, the control test,

we'll dissolve 0.2 grams of sugar and 0.1 grams of an enzyme called invertase in water.

Enzymes are things that speed up chemical reactions, or catalysts.

Thus, the enzyme will quickly break down sugar into glucose and fructose.

In the second experiment, we'll use the exact same procedure,

but change one material.

Instead of using sugar, we'll use Splenda.

Let's go to the lab.

Now that we've gathered all the materials, let's get started.

Note to future editing self: this is Splenda.

This is sugar.

So, now I'm going to dissolve both of those things in water,

in these things, test tubes.

Now that we've dissolved everything in the test tube,

let's put them in a warm water bath like this for 20 minutes.

The water should be about 37 degrees Celsius or body temperature.

This is the best temperature for the enzymes.

After letting it sit for 20 minutes,

I'm going to put in Benedict's solution.

Benedict's solution will tell us if there's glucose in these test tubes.

Benedict's solution is named after Stanley Rossiter Benedict, an American chemist,

and not Benedict Cumberbatch, a British actor.

This is a disappointment.

It's now time to goggle up.

Now, when we put in the Benedict's solution,

we're going to replace the 37-degree water with boiling water.

Then, let's add in a few drops and wait for the Benedict's solution to do its thing.

So, we just learned that how Benedict's solution works is basically it's a spectrum,

right?

So, blue would be the least amount of glucose, no glucose.

And then there's red, which would be the most amount of glucose,

that's a lot of glucose.

Now, as you can see, these two are basically kind of orangey-caramel coloured,

but the one in the Splenda solution actually is a little darker and a little more intense,

if you look really closely.

So, that means there's actually more glucose in the Splenda than the actual sugar.

Isn't that crazy?

I mean, I was blown away.

Splenda, which is marketed as a zero-calorie alternative to sugar,

actually has more glucose than actual sugar.

Why?

Well Splenda's most-used ingredient is dextrose.

You know what that is?

A fancy word for glucose.

So, how many calories are in these packets?

Four.

Four calories.

How do we know that?

Well,

I emailed Splenda Customer Service.

And they wrote back that there are four calories

in each single serve packet of Splenda no calorie sweetener

because that makes sense.

Side note here, one gram of sugar has four calories

and each packet of Splenda is about a gram.

But wait a sec.

If each packet has four calories,

why is Splenda allowed to say they have none?

That seems pretty sketchy.

It might seem sketchy, but it's completely legal.

The Food and Drug Administration allows foods with fewer than five calories per serving

to be marketed as having zero calories down to the nutrition label.

That means you can't trust any food that claims it has zero calories.

Well, now you know.

Until next time,

thank you so very much for watching.

Thank you to Tom for giving me the privilege of making a guest video.

Thank you to my chemistry teacher for staying late

and helping me with every little annoying thing I asked for.

DFTBA, and explore on!

Go subscribe to Alex's channel!

Let's be honest, he's going to have my job in a few years,

so you're just getting in early.

That is it for this run of guest videos.

Thank you very much for watching.

Thank you to all the presenters.

I'll be back next time and, until then, I will see you on the Internet!

Sometimes, there are two people.

And you just know, somehow, that they would be absolutely perfect for each other.

Like, they just match.

Well, it's happened to me before, and it's happening again.

I have made it my mission

to find Harriet Smith - best roommate ever -

the best boyfriend ever.

And I think I've finally found him.

His name's Phil,

he's...very nice.

Cute, in a dorky sort of way, and...

I just think they'll be good.

I think they'd be really good together.

I've already introduced them, and they're getting along great.

I mean, around me, Phil's super chatty and all that?

But, he gets so awkward around Harriet.

It's adorable. Harriet, well, she's nice to everybody, but...

I can tell, okay - she's interested.

It just feels good, you know?

To have a goal like this?

Making people happy.

I mean, that's what I want to do, right?

They'd be so happy together.

So, I've already got some ideas.

I have a photography project,

I have to take a portrait of a friend, and I chose Harriet.

I figure, what better way to show Phil just how beautiful Harriet is,

than by taking him along.

But still, tell me in the comments what are some other romantic ideas

that I could set up for them to do together, and...

Yeah! Let me know. See you guys later.

MY WEEK - OSAKA - Duration: 26:26.

Alright we are going to our hotel room finally

Let's see how it looks

It's small

Shouldn't this be non smoke?

Yes we will fit here

And we have our own slippers and everything

Well this is...

Refrain from smoking in bed

Refrain that

The air conditioning went on

Oh no

This is as compact package as it could be

Oh no

This is an interesting toilet with all these buttons

Maybe the smallest bathtub in the world

And the poorest shower ever

I don't know how to use these

I don't know how to get the lights on?

Oh that's air conditioning

Here, look

Here's a blueish light

Very nice

We will fit here

Yes we will

I want to check the view

There's no view because you can't see anything there

No v...

So this is...

Oh no

Oh yes

Is there a yard on the other side or is there a another room?

I have no idea

Yeah I don't know

Well the first day is almost over

I've just slept today I have done nothing else than slept here at the hotel

And...

And I feel like you can here it from my voice that I have a flu and little fever

I have had...

Fuck my bangs

I have had little fever for the whole week fuck I can't film with this

So this is like 10/10

But luckily I have eaten good food which made my day

I ate cup noodles

And it has been very pleasant since I have met my sister today already and she lives in Japan

And it's was really nice to see her since I haven't seen her in a long time

But nothing has happened today I've just been in bed

And it would be nice to get rid off jet lag

So I hope tomorrow will be more active day

At least I hope so

We will see it tomorrow

So we have already eaten very exotic breakfast and we just opened the window

This room smells like cigarettes

And this view is so...

beautiful

And now I'll do my make up and then we wait for my sister and go somewhere

Which area is this?

This is Namba and we are at Hikkakebashi

Hikkakebashi?

It's "a collision area" and it's called that since here's so many people

I can see that

This is not that much just wait for the evening

So this is not much?

I will bump into some one

Now it's starting to be...

Oh my god how can we fit there?

For real?

I look so fresh at the moment

We just arrived to the hotel

We decided with my mom that we will continue shopping together just two of us

And we though that we will find a way to our hotel

But guess two times how it turned out

Plus that there started raining a lot so walking in rain was really good for my flu

And we didn't find our hotel without taking a taxi

So that went well

Today has been really nice and we have eaten really good food yeah that's the main point

But that's all so see you tomorrow and it should rain tomorrow too so I'm really happy about it

So now we are at the top of the Sky Building

Film a little closer

I'm taking

Your wing is in my nose

Ha!

So here's all the locks

And here's my forever alone chair

Sit down there

Laura the forever alone

How does it feel?

You and your bag?

Don't ask

It feels good

This wind is so lovely

Laura

Hello

My bangs...

Beautiful hair, good hair

You can sit there next to each other

Sit here so I don't have to be forever alone

I almost said that I'm forever alone but then I remembered that I've a ring, a real ring

Now make a cute faces

Good bye Sky Building

This feels in my ears

Yes it does

So this is the light show?

Yeah it's this elevator

287 meters

So I guess we have finally found Amerikamura

At least almost

Maybe

Probably

So straight ahead

Here's some show

Here we go

I don't know where this has focused

This is getting wet

This place is like too cute

So yeah filming of yesterday kind of just stopped because we were supposed to go the Harry Potter's castle in the Universal Studios

But we waited two hours on the wrong line and it wasn't even open in the evening so we waited for nothing

So I didn't want to film anything anymore since I was pretty disappointed and angry

But luckily today is a new and a better day and we are buying some homecoming gifts

at Amerikamura and we'll probably go to Shinsaibashi too if I remeber that name right

This day seems to be better than the evening of yesterday

But I had a really nice day yesterday

When we were at the Universal Studios

Nice "S"

Umm...

It was pretty funny since it was the first time when some one asked to take a selfie with me

There was altogether four girls who wanted to take pic with me since I looked cute in their opinion

And there was also one boy who looked very happy and wanted to shake my hand and pointed my hair or something like that

My hair has impressed many people here

Because not many people have green hair here

And there were also these employees who asked where I'm from and how long I'll be here

And something like that

Like okay

But I have never get this much attention

For some reason it feels like that appearance like this is really different

Of course being white and having vibrant hair may have something to do with it

But yeah we will continue shopping

How do I fit here?

We got these napkins

Beautiful black napkins

So we grill meats by ourselves

Laura is cooking

Like a master

I am

This is pretty Hell's Kitchen

Let's try flap meat

Like that

Look like this

We got some sushi and rice

Hey advertise my restaurant

Yes let's eat tongue

Let's see what does it taste like

Do I add this salt or?

No there's that sauce

Oh okay

This is surprisingly good

This is a bit...

But this tongue is good

Now we have eaten everything and I hope I get my shoes back

I just don't get used to this...

idea that you don't wear shoes in some places

Adorable origamis

Hey look look look here's this

I take this

For your information...

Press the screen, press the screen

Laura press the screen

Almost

Now!

Yuki Kanamori

You all should come here

That's my boss' name

We are going to NARS' store somewhere if I could focus this

Actually to Daimaru

Well to Daimaru where they sell NARS

Look out for that little creature

I'll look out for that little creature

You're the highlight of my videos

If there is something I hate it's those selfie sticks

For real

But look I have this camera where is this kind of selfie screen

If I just could move fucking forward

But anyways we are now at Namba

We are going to some direction if we just can walk

To the right

To the right

We are going to the right

And umm yeah

We are spending our last night...

In this populous place

Fuck these straps

Here if this could focus on something some day

Well look at this non focused...

In what direction? That direction

Monkey wife

Is that what you want?

Yes

I was looking at those sunglasses

But you can look at those monkey wives

There's another monkey wife

Look there's a third one

It has bling bling

There is the real monkey wife

Yes it's a monkey wife

Every one else is looking at those bags and you're like "Monkey"

Rarely sexy species companion

We are at the airport now

And we are soon leaving for Finland

And this has been very nice trip

I have nothing to complain about

Expect my makeup free face but what ever I was too lazy to do my makeup

because we have to be nine hours in the plane

So what

But it was a bit hard to say good bye to Laura

And I don't know, I'll probably see her next time in December

The hardest part of the trip but it will get better

We will get in the plane in 20 minutes

And then we would be in Finland finally

I'll see my love and so one

But this has been one of the best trips I've ever been to

So yeah

"The Rebirth of Krillin"- Dragon Ball Super Episode 84 Thoughts - Duration: 10:01.

Dragon Ball Super Episode 84 was really really awesome.

Krillin is such a badass.

This episode connected with me on an emotional, spiritual level.

After years of waiting, my player Krilin finally got the Spotlight.

This episode answered everyone who had doubts about Krillin's inclusion as a Survival

Fighter in the U7 team.

He not only outsmarted Gohan, but also earned his right to confront Super Saiyan Blue Goku,

and for someone who has been out of all forms of fighting and training he was god damn impressive.

Gohan and Goku wanted to test Krillin's strength, but both of them ended up getting

a lesson or wakeup call for themselves which will have impact on how they approach the

Battle Royal.

In Episode 83, Goku and Gohan engaged in an image battle in their attempt to speculate

how Krillin would do in the Tournament of Power, but none of them knew where Krillin

stands currently.

Especially, Gohan didn't even know that Krillin got his fighting spirits back recently,

and that he started training.

So, the image battle outcome was not accurate at all.

However, they decided to test Krillin's strength on person.

Even though Goku was leaning towards including Krillin, Gohan was quite hesitant.

Goku grew up training with Krillin, so he knows very well what Krillin is capable of

doing, and just how much fighting intelligence he has.

Case not exactly the same for Gohan.

In order to understand Krillin, so that Gohan can develop a proper team plan for the battle,

he challenged Krillin to fight with similar rules as that of the Battle Royal and much

to everyone's surprise Krillin outwits Gohan, and actually goes on to win the mini challenge.

We find out that, Krillin developed his Solar Flare technique, and made it 100 times better,

like it's called Solar flare times 100.

That was good enough to distract Gohan long enough to knock him out.

It's actually fun to see how Krillin is multiplying his attack powers since he don't

have transformation like Super Saiyan 2 or 3.

That's one way intelligent way to keep up.

Before this, Gohan was kind of like eh...

Krillin.

He was kind of a representative of all the fans who kept demanding Krillin or other human

fighters to be replaced with Goten and Trunks.

Well, this Episode sent a clear message for something like Battle Royal, Krillin is undoubtedly

a better choice than them.

Those Saiyan kid has high potential, and we look forward for them to do great things as

they grow older, but in terms of skill, technique, fighting intelligence, experience Krillin,

Tien and Roshi is just way above.

This is also the reason Goku rejected the idea of including them right away.

It was also a good wakeup call for Gohan, as he was getting a bit cocky.

This made him realize that how vulnerable he still is, and this will work as a motivation

for him to train.

In Episode 85, Gohan will go to invite Piccolo to join the team, and as we see in the opening

he will have a training session with Piccolo ahead of the Tournament.

Some fans were saying, Krillin getting the upper hand against Gohan didn't make sense,

but the truth is it absolutely did.

Gohan was never the best strategist; he was just so insanely talented, and powerful that

he got the Job done.

While Krillin has gone through martial arts training from a very young age, so why wouldn't

he get the upper hand on something totally strategy centric right?

Apart from that, It was really nice to see this Gohan-Krillin relationship revisited.

Krillin is like a forgotten 2nd mentor of Gohan, remember how he actually helped Gohan

to train during the Namek Saga?

Krillin helped him out a lot with Ki control, masking, and many of the basics of combats.

Also, he often played authority like role for Gohan.

He was taking care of Gohan throughout the Namek Saga.

Their teams up fights were fun to watch, they teamed up quite often in the movies.

So, it was like they connected in that manner after a fuckin long time.

I liked how he was cheering Gohan up after the fight, that is what reminded me of the

good old days these 2 had.

It's really nice to see how Gohan was paying respect to Krillin afterwards too.

About the, Goku vs Krillin match, Goku didn't challenge him to test him further.

After his fight with Gohan, it was clear that he deserved to be in the team, and Gohan had

enough information to build a team plan.

It was because after watching the fight, Goku realized that Krillin can be pushed even further.

It was about helping him grow a bit more, before the tournament, and once again Krillin

surprises us all.

Even after he won the Gohan challenge, perhaps even Goku wasn't expecting him to do so

well against him.

It looked like Krillin genuinely pushed Goku to go Super Saiyan at least.

Krillin has upgraded his fighting style a bit, he is now very comfortable and swift

with his ki attacks.

You might argue that, Goku wasn't being too serious, but what Krillin did with that

4 Destructo Disk trick was outstanding, and Goku genuinely didn't see that coming.

Tricks like that is what makes Krillin especial, and goes on to show some of the fans that

he is going to be a major card of U7 in the Battle Royal.

Now coming to the Super Saiyan Blue Goku part, it's not about if Goku absolutely had to

go Blue or if Krillin pushed him hard enough to go Blue.

It's more like Krillin outperformed their expectations so much, that Goku thought Krillin

earned it, that Krillin deserves to face his prime form that is Super Saiyan Blue.

Also, just like they gave yet another awesome throwback to the Dragon Ball days, when Krillin

asked Goku to never hold off against him.

So, that was also a promise kept.

The moment Goku realized, that he was being outsmarted while he was in his SSJ form is

when he decided Krillin deserves SSB.

The Kamehameha struggle was fun to watch, Krillin even overpowered it for just a moment,

but obviously ended up losing it, and was interrupted by 18.

Android 18 did make a valid point, that The Tournament of Power isn't going to be one

on one, and that will make Krillin even more effective.

Because Krillin's high is Strategy and techniques, while power comes more into equation in a

one on one fight.

In the Battle Royal, most likely there's not going to be much opportunity or moments

where two fighters cover half the stage for a long beam struggle.

That is in the Battle Royal, Krillin would not have to deal with power dominant situations

like this, rather it would have more emphasis on strength and strategy, which is a deal

winner for Krillin.

Because in terms of techniques or fighting intelligence Krillin is better than even the

likes of Goahn!

Added to that, Killing is not allowed.

It's almost like this entire arc, was set up in a way for Krillin to do something.

This is also the 3rd Krillin Centric episode of this arc, truly makes me wonder if we will

get a big shock.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Krillin makes it to the top 15 or even top 10 of the

battle, as that one successful underdog.

Keep in mind that, Krillin implied he still has more attacks up his sleeves, and I look

forward to that.

I also saw some fun theories about that Kamehameha struggle.

Some fans are suggesting Krillin got hold of God ki for this, after the fight, Krillin

says he feels some kind of shock in his hands, and fans interrupt this as him getting hold

of the God Ki.

This is coming from the fans, who also believe Vegeta actually got hold of The God Ki while

training with Goku, Refering to a scene where he bumps fist with Goku, and we see a slight

sparkle of Blue Aura.

Fans theorize that's how it got transferred to him, and case same with Krillin.

God Ki was never exclusive to Saiyans, so humans might be able to grab it too.

I don't mind theories like that, have fun with it, but I don't really think that's

the case.

Krillin or other Human Z fighters wouldn't look right in Blue.

Even if they were to power up or get a transformation, I would like something unique rather than

something we have already seen, and might potentially get stale for overuse.

Well, as you know Android 18 also agreed to participate, but that was made possible after

baiting her with a false promise of 10 Million Zeni Prize Money.

The fact that, they are hiding what the tournament is about is getting on my nerves, because

it's illogical, and makes 0 senses.

They are going to find out anyway, they don't have much time so instead of wasting time

on convincing they should be more serious about it, the fighters deserve to know what

they are fighting for, and most importantly if they know they are fighting for survival;

it would bring the best out of them.

At the end of the episode, we see 17, he will be approached soon.

You got to check out Majin Buu from the Episode 85 preview, which I will breakdown soon.

This Episode overall, left me very satisfied.

So, what do you think about this episode and Krillin?

Up or Down? The Haunted Mansion Stretching Room - Duration: 2:54.

When you step into the famous octagonal room, your first stop at the Haunted Mansion, the

disembodied ghost-host asks: "Is this room actually stretching?

Or is it just your imagination?"

Well it's not your imagination.

It is stretching, but in which direction?

The answer to that question actually depends on which Haunted Mansion you're visiting.

Both rooms do stretch.

However in Disneyland over in California guests are lowered down as the room stretches while

guests over in Disney World in Florida remain put as the ceiling stretches upwards.

So why is that?

Well the original design was born out of necessity.

You see, Disneyland isn't a very large park, and so Disney always had to be careful with

how they used the space they had.

When it came time to designing the Haunted Mansion, the idea was to place the bulk of

the ride building on the outer edge of the park, outside of the Disneyland Railroad which

acted as a border.

The ride's facade and entrance, however, would remain on the inside of the park, creating

the problem of getting guests onto the other side of the railroad tracks.

That's where the stretching room comes in.

By lowering everyone underground on the open air elevator disguised as a room, guests would

be able to easily and safely make their way to the doom buggies where they could experience

the ride on the other side of the tracks.

Over in Florida size wasn't an issue so they didn't have to employ the same solution.

In fact, it would have been hard to do even if they wanted to.

Because the waterbed in Florida is so shallow, Disney can't dig too far down into the ground.

It's the same reason why the famous underground tunnels known as the utilidoors aren't actually

underground.

They were built first on the surface level of the land, and the rest of the Magic Kingdom

was built on top of it.

Even though they didn't need to lower guests underground in Disney World, the stretching

room was still a key part of the Haunted Mansion.

So instead, the room was designed such that the upper half would raise up when stretching

while guests stood in place.

That said, there is one similar instance of that trick being used in the Magic Kingdom.

Because the main building for Space Mountain sits outside of the Walt Disney World Railroad,

guests need to somehow get onto the other side of the tracks.

That's why the queue for Disney World's Space Mountain requires descending a few gradual

ramps before eventually ascending back up into the main queue room.

The Haunted Mansion's stretching room is a wonderful example of Imagineering ingenuity.

When faced with a problem they found a creative solution that not only solved the issue, but

made for a memorable part of an even more memorable ride.
