Furthermore, a tragedy in the world of finance: the Amigo Gringo coffers have been decimated.

Folks, I can't do this - Dreiky, get rid of this greenscreen.

OK, the whole team is here to announce changes in the channel.

Actually, they're all in my bed. I don't know how that happened.

Just a sec.

As our fans know, we created Amigo Gringo with the Snack Network in São Paulo in 2014

when the Brazilian economy was strong.

Snack invested a lot of money in production costs

Sometimes we even have two cameras.

and in our professional team.

for which we are very thankful.

And there were several results. Result #1: quality videos.

Result #2: Two videos per week without fail for 179 weeks, a total of 258 videos.

It was so much work that I even gave up my travel column at The New York Times to handle it.

Result #3: We spent more than we made.

That's right, the channel is fun and cool and awesome and useful, but it was never profitable.

I don't know if you all know, but channels in Portuguese make less per thousand views than

channels in English.

That's how the global economy works. The Brazilian economy also did not help.

And now we've taken it to the limit and Snack, reasonably, told us that starting in April,

in other words, now,

they can no longer pay the costs of running the channel

and they've passed them along to...who?

To me? That stinks.

And in addition to that...

I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my career as a director and actor in Hollywood.

And I've been living for almost a year in Miami with Rafael and Snowy.

Is there hope for the channel?

Folks! Folks! Folks! I know how to solve the problem.

What, sell our organs?

Sell pot "brigadeiros"?

I can sell my body on the streets!

No, no. We've come up with some solutions.

let's say you're driving and as you're

driving you're looking at the scenery

and then you hear

motorcycles are going by that something

happened so you stop the car you open the

door you go outside and you see that the

tire is flat well you go to the back

you change it you put the tire on and the

result is that now you can get in the

car because now you have a new tire that

you put on the car the result was that

you tire yet in order to get that tire

on the car you went through a procedure

let's say that you're at your favorite

restaurant and you're ordering a big

bacon burger you like it you see it on

the menu you're like this is gonna be

yummy so the waiter brings the yummy

burger and you're looking at it you take

that

bite out of it

yeah this is good there was a whole

bunch of things that went on in the

background to get that burger to your

plate there's a whole bunch of things

that happen in order to make that yumminess

possible the result is the yumminess

yeah that yumminess is happening because of

certain procedures

here are the train tracks and the train passes here every

few hours or it leaves every few hours

or whatever it does it goes through

certain rules it goes through certain

rituals to get it here on time and in

order to get it here on time so that

people climb into it and go all the

way to Fort Worth to hang out with the

cows hanging out with the cows is the

result yet the process that it goes

through in order to do that be here on

time and get the people out to Fort

Worth is the procedure

I walk in right and I look to my right and there's this

organized procession of donuts and

they're all just sliding by looking

beautiful and they're glistening with

the light it's Krispy Kreme donuts and

they're getting bathed with that

yumminess and they're coming out and you

get a free one that the light is on the

result is I go in there I see the light

is on and I get a free donut and in

order to get that free donut in order to

make that donut happen that donut

process went through a procedure that

allowed that donut to go into my hand

and into my mouth and then to my belly

and it's a yummy the result that results

required procedure

when I was a boy I was in school and I was playing football and

somebody threw the football and I went

running for it and the ball hit my

finger and this finger actually broke

or got dislocated and it looked funny so

I went to the doctor doctor looked at it

he kind of played around with it and he

pulled it into place and then he fixed it

few weeks later everything was fine in

order to make everything fine and be

okay so that I had functional hands

two functional thumbs the doctor went

through a procedure

and confidence is like that finger or like that fixed tire

or like that yummy burger or having a

train on time they all work because of a

procedure

confidence works because you run a procedure

Supreme Court Nominee Neil Gorsuch's Views on LGBT Issues - Duration: 4:01.

Neil Gorsuch is Donald Trump's choice for the Supreme Court, and you may be wondering

-- do we need to be worried about this guy?

The answer: yes, yes you do, unless you don't like having the freedom to marry, to get medical

care, to have a place to live, or to use the bathroom.

Neil hasn't said much about LGBT people.

At his confirmation hearing, he was asked about LGBT citizens, and his response was,

"what about them?"

He also said that while marriage equality is settled law, the interpretation of that

law remains up for debate.

That's a cute way of saying that while technically same-sex marriage is legal, he believes opponents

could still carve out restrictions and exemptions to the point where for some, marriage no longer

means marriage.

That sound bad enough, but previously, he said same-sex couples shouldn't use courts

to secure the freedom to marry, which means that he doesn't believe same-sex couples should

be able to count on the Constitution's guarantee of due process and equal protection.

That's a problem, especially if a case comes before him that challenges marriage equality

-- which is likely to happen very soon.

That's because Republicans are working on a variety of lawsuits and bills challenging

marriage that could wind up before the Supreme Court.

For example, there's a Texas case where state officials are saying that even though same-sex

couples can get married, the state can still treat them legally like they're single.

So, couples might be denied access to a spouse in a hospital, or denied Social Security,

or prevented from making medical decisions for their kids.

The Constitution is supposed to prevent that kind of treatment by providing everyone with

equal protection under the law.

But apparently Neil doesn't see it that way.

What else do we know about him?

Well, his high school yearbook says that he was president of the Fascist Forever club,

but now his classmates say that was just a joke.

Haha, good one.

As a judge, his rulings are even funnier -- he's one of the chief architects of the Hobby Lobby

decision, which declared that corporations are people, and can have religious beliefs,

and those beliefs can exempt them from laws that everyone else has to follow.

He also wrote that it's ok to deny medical care to trans people in prison, and that employers

can bar trans employees from using the bathroom because of "safety."

He sided with a nursing home that wanted to be able to withhold medical coverage on the

basis of religion.

And he sided with officials who wanted to build religious monuments on public property.

That always goes well.

So basically, he's hostile to queers, and he's OK with granting exemptions to laws for

religious purposes.

That's a huge problem, because it fits perfectly with another dangerous trend: those turn-away-the-gays

bills that have been spreading across the country.

Remember those?

The laws that say it's ok for any person or business to discriminate against queer people?

Well, now a bunch of congressional Republicans are trying to pass a national version called

the First Amendment Defense Act.

If its provisions become law, either by passing or through executive order, it would mean

anyone in America could treat queer people as second-class citizens with no repercussions.

What would that look like?

Well, you could be kicked out of school for being gay.

Or denied a loan for being a lesbian.

You could be evicted for having your boyfriend over.

Or if you marry someone from another country, they could be denied citizenship.

Or denied access to your husband's ashes when he dies.

Or left off of your child's birth certificate.

These aren't hypotheticals -- much of this was legal until the Supreme Court ruled that

the Constitution protects equal rights for queer people.

And in many states, some of these things are still legal.

If the First Amendment Defense Act becomes law, it would be challenged and join dozens

of other LGBT-related cases potentially heading to the Supreme Court.

Almost all of them involve some form of religious permission to discriminate.

Neil's record shows that that's exactly the kind of permission he's likely to rule in

favor of.

So ultimately, even though Neil won't say where he stands on equal rights for LGBTs,

at this point he doesn't need to.

He's already shown us.

Korea set for five-way presidential race as parties settle on nominees - Duration: 1:57.

With People's Party's Ahn Cheol-soo chosen as the party's presidential candidate... candidates

running for the May 9th presidential election has been settled.

Campaining begins in about two weeks.

Oh Jung-hee tells us more about the rare five-way race.

35 days ahead of the election,... Korea's five major parties have settled on their presidential

candidates.

The People's Party is going with its former leader Ahn Cheol-soo and the Democratic Party

of Korea with its former leader Moon Jae-in.

The Liberty Korea Party, which was in power under former President Park Geun-hye, has

chosen Gyeongsangnam-do Province Governor Hong Joon-pyo to lead its ticket,... while

the splinter Bareun Party nominated lawmaker Yoo Seong-min.

The minor left-wing Justice Party leader chose Shim Sang-jung back in February.

Normally it's between two or three candidates, but this will be a rare five-way race.

The polls show Moon with a comfortable lead over his rivals -- he's in the 30-percent

range, while Ahn, his closest rival, hasn't broken through 20 percent.

The key for these two will be winning over the Democratic Party primary voters who supported

Chungcheongnam-do Province governor An Hee-jung and Seongnam mayor Lee Jae-myung, the runners

up.

In the last presidential election in 2012, Moon and Ahn merged their campaigns... but

the chances of that happening this time are slim... with Ahn vowing to fight to the end

and opposing any sort of alignment based on political calculations.

Ahn Cheol-soo picked as People's Party's presidential nominee - Duration: 1:43.

Korea's People's Party wrapped up their final round of presidential primaries.

Ahn Cheol-soo, the man who made waves when he jumped into the political arena in the

last big election has been chosen as the centrist-left bloc's nominee to run in the May 9th early

presidential election.

Ji Myung-kil starts us off.

After a seventh and final round of primaries, the People's Party nominated its founder and

former leader Ahn Cheol-soo for president on Tuesday.

Ahn's nomination was based on a combination of votes from party members and the results

of a public opinion poll, weighted in a four-to-one ratio.

In the polls, Ahn has been steadily catching up to the current front-runner, Moon Jae-in

of the Democratic Party,... and there's early speculation that the election could come down

to the two of them...

largely overshadowing other minor figures.

Ahn and Moon are both running for president for the second time.

They actually forged an alliance in the 2012 presidential race, but Ahn ended up bowing

out and throwing his support to Moon.

The medical doctor-turned-software mogul Ahn has strength in his centrist position,...

appealing to swing voters who would neither support the conservative camp after the impeachment

of former President Park ... nor the liberal front-runner Moon.

Although Ahn's rise in the polls has put him ahead of the conservative contenders like

Hong Joon-pyo from the Liberty Korea Party and Yoo Seong-min from the Bareun Party,...

he's got just half the support Moon has.

However, if conservative-leaning voters don't like their options on the right and turn to

the center... then that could work in favor of Ahn Cheol-soo.

And now for the weather updates, we have our Michelle Park at the weather center.

Michelle, due to global warming,... and rising temperatures, there are some discussions on

whether to change the date of Arbor day here in Korea, which is tomorrow.

Exactly, how much increase in temperatures are we seeing?

The Arbor Day average temperature in recent decades has risen 1.5 to 3.9 degrees Celsius

from the 1940s.

Most regions including Seoul saw increases of more than 2 degrees while Daegu saw an

increase of nearly 4 degrees.

Thus, environmental groups are arguing that we should move Arbor Day to March, while the

Forest Service administration wants to keep the current date in light of its historical

significance.

Either way, we should do our best to plant as many trees tomorrow and on any other day.

As much needed rain will fall to water newly planted trees.

Most regions can expect between 5 to 40 millimeters of rain while the southern regions will see

more precipitation than the rest of the nation.

Looking at tomorrow's readings, Seoul will wake up to a morning low of 10 degrees Celsius,...

while Daegu and Busan will start the day at 10 and 11 degrees respectively.

The daytime temperatures won't be high as today...

Seoul topping out at 14 degrees while Gwangju and Busan reach 17 and 16 degrees.

Korea's consumer prices grow at fastest pace in nearly 5 years - Duration: 2:21.

Korea's consumer prices rose at their fastest pace in nearly five years last month.

That was mainly due to a spike in the price of oil... as well as agricultural and farm

goods.

Kim Min-ji breaks down the digits for us.

Korea's consumer price growth has risen to the highest level in almost five years.

The country's consumer price index rose 2-point-2 percent in March from a year ago,... accelerating

from 1-point-9 percent growth in February.

The figure is the highest since the 2-point-2 percent recorded back in June 2012.

"The increase comes on the back of rising gas prices at the pump and higher utility

bills that pushed up inflation, along with expensive fruit and vegetable prices.

Global oil prices are another factor.

We must note that oil prices hit extremely low levels in March of last year."

In fact, the prices of petroleum products have risen over 14 percent to their highest

level since November 2011.

That helped pull consumer price growth up by 0-point-5-9 percentage points overall.

Agricultural, livestock and fisheries rose 5-point-8 percent in March,... leading to

a gain of 0-point-4-6 percentage points in overall inflation.

"The upward pressure in prices is expected to continue for some time,... especially due

to a base effect from higher global oil prices compared to last year,... and prices of fresh

food produce....

But since there isn't a supply and demand problem, it's not expected to see a sharp

rise."

The government has vowed to keep close tabs on prices,... especially on goods or services

that affect the average household.

There are both positive and negative factors ahead -- the recovery in global oil prices

has slowed,... and prices of agricultural products will drop with the arrival of the

spring harvest season.

But at the same time,... there's the possibility of fluctuations in global oil prices... and

bad weather conditions like dry spells.

"Experts say although there's a limit to what the government can do,... it needs to actively

maintain supply and demand,... as well as be open to increasing imports for price stability

in the long run.

As the cost of living has been on the rise,... failure to do so, could weigh on consumer

sentiment.

No-Follow Links - How to stop hurting your website's ranking - Duration: 6:23.

Tricia: Hi. I'm Tricia Clements, Chief Fur Wrangler with MuttButs.com. In this video,

I'm going to talk to you about some different ways that you might be hurting your

website's search engine rank with even knowing it. Make sure you stay tuned to the

end because I have a free download of different things that you can do to actually

boost your pages ranking. I want to talk to you a little bit about what's called 'No Follow links'.

If you haven't heard of that, that is basically just the coding that is put in on your

website on a link when you link to an external site. You can also do it on internal

sites, but the main thing is is that if you have a no follow link coding put in, that

basically tells Google and other search engines not to count that link towards the

other site to boost their search engine ranking. The reason Google does that is

because if, let's say, for instance, you have an affiliate.

You may have an Amazon affiliate. You may have other affiliates where you may

reference something, and if someone clicks on that link, that takes them to a site,

and if they'd make a purchase there, you will get some sort of credit. It could be a

credit. It could be the actual percentage. Google does not want to give that site a

boost for you referencing it because you are sending somebody there because it is

something that you would actually benefit from.

A lot of different examples of that are affiliate links like Amazon. Also, if there's a

sponsored ad, if you're doing a post and it's actually sponsored and you're getting

paid for that. Other things include paid links. If someone pays you to put a link on

your site. You need to make sure that you do include the no follow coding in there,

and I will have that included in the download that you can click on, at the end of the video.

Make sure that you are doing that coding so that Google could actually ding you on

your ranking if you do not include that no follow link and it goes to an affiliate page or

something like that where you are actually getting a benefit from that. The reason

Google does this is because they don't want any ranking for the other page to be

influenced from getting a lot of links to them. For instance, there may be another

company that you are an affiliate with.

For instance, I have post planner that I use for my social media and I have a link on

here for that that has a no follow link. I also use when I transcribe my videos like

this, I use GoTranscript and I have a no follow link for that because they have—

they're companies that have what's called affiliates. If you refer someone to them,

and they actually sign up and purchase some of the product or services, then that

will come back in typically-- they'll typically give me a credit on my account or they

may have a dollar amount and send actual money.

It just depends on each affiliate. The main thing is this, that Google does not want

that to boost the other companies' rankings because that is something that you're

getting paid to send people out to that. Now, typically most links are follow links.

What that means is anytime you link to another page. Let's say I have a blog post

and I am going to link to a great article that gives you more information on the topic,

and goes maybe into more detail than I'm discussing or really has a different point of view that I want to show you.

I will do a, what's called a follow link because that-- I'm not getting paid for that, I'm

not getting any funds back from that. They're saying that's a good link. They want to

give them some juice for that. When I say juice, I mean help in their ranking on the

search engines. You want to make sure all links are follow links unless you put the

coding in for no follow. That's important. Again, all links that you do are follow links

unless you specifically tell it to be a no follow link.

Basically, what that means is if you see a link on my site, you will click on it and you

will go to that site. You won't notice any difference between a follow link and a no

follow link. However, when Amazon and a different search engine sees that, they

know that basically all of their bots and their spiders and all of the different things in

the background, when they are using that for the algorithms for Google and the

other search engines, they stop there and they don't follow out to that other site.

That is something you need to be very careful for because if you have affiliates,

sponsor links in your blog, in your site, and you have them not set up as a no follow

link, Google will ding you and that will hurt your pay drinking. Make sure that any

affiliate sponsor links are no follow links. I have a free download for you. You can

click on it in the description below. It is a list of different things that you can do for

your website to help boost your SEO or Search Engine Optimization.

Basically that means it will help your rank on the search engines organically,

meaning not paid for. That's really something important that you want to focus on. I

have a full list of different things that you can do free to your website to help

Prosecutors interrogate former President Park Geun-hye at detention center - Duration: 2:32.

Prosecutors have been interrogating Korea's former president Park Geun-hye at the detention

center where she's being held.

It was the first time they've questioned her since she was arrested last Friday,... but

it's probably not the last.

We now connect live to our Hwang Hojun for the details.

Hojun, it seems like the interrogation has gone on for a while?

It's been a long day, Daniel.

The prosecutors' interrogation of Park Geun-hye,... which started at 10 a.m. today at the Seoul

Detention Center,... has apparently ended.

We've just heard that Park is currently reviewing the records of her statements.

So, it will be a while before see vehicles carrying investigators... and legal counsel...

coming out.

Just a few meters away, about 100 hundred pro-Park demonstrators were camped outside

the entrance to protest Park's arrest, adding to the tension in the air.

Park is currently being held at the center, located some 15 kilometers south of the capital,

in a solitary cell... on allegations related to the power abuse scandal that led to her

impeachment.

While prosecutors initially wanted to question Park at their main office in Seoul, they decided

against it due to security concerns.

Instead, she was questioned in a separate room at the center in the presence of one

of her lawyers.

The interrogation session was led by chief prosecutor Han Woong-jae, who was also in

charge of Park's interrogation at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office two weeks

ago.

The questions were reportedly focused on the charges of bribery and collusion between Park

and her confidante Choi Soon-sil.

Park is facing 13 charges in all, including.... colluding with Choi to extort over 70 million

U.S. dollars from conglomerates,... leaking confidential presidential office documents

to Choi... and ordering the creation of a blacklist of cultural figures critical of

the government.

Park has denied all the charges against her.

Choi is standing trial in a separate court case that also started Tuesday.

Tuesday's interrogation of Park Geun-hye was the first time she has undergone questioning

since her arrest last Friday... and the first interrogation of a detained president since

1995.

Prosecutors now have until April 19th to continue their investigation into Park and file formal

charges against her, meaning this won't be their last visit to the detention center.

If they decide to indict Park, it's expected the case will be tried after the presidential

election on May 9th.
