You Thought Super Smash Bros Was Original, But Actually... - Duration: 8:25.RelaxAlax Intro
You remember this video?
It was one of my Know Your Moves on Kirby
And though Kirby's simple design made me think it'd be an easily researched video...
Oh boy...
There was so much I learned about Kirby as a character and how he related to Smash Brothers as a series.
To briefly discuss what I discovered, basically Kirby as a Smash character was designed with beginners in mind
And this is incredibly similar to how his games were designed for new players
In a fashion Sakurai coined "Kirbyism"
Basically, it's making a game so that new players can play it -
They have no problem understanding the controls or completing the game.
Many platforms are hard or very complex, so Kirby aims to diminish that
to a point so even a new player can understand it.
However, this doesn't exclude skilled players as there's a high skill ceiling
with abilities you can learn and objectives you can obtain.
Kirby games are very much like this, and as we discussed
Sakurai actually implemented this exact philosophy into Super Smash Brothers
Where instead of it being a platformer for beginners it was now a fighting game for beginners.
And when I made that Kirby KYM, I knew they were similar but...
I didn't know how similar until now...
Sakurai not only says that he has attributes that make the Kirby games "Kirby Games"
But that Smash too is included in that :/
When I looked into it, Smash takes SO many things from the Kirby genre that
I'd argue it's a subset of it. And in fact,
Sakurai stole Smash's formula from Kirby Super Star.
Spent hours on this dumb animation... now please jus-
FFF
FFFFFFFFFUUU
Now what exactly do I mean?
Well, some of you well tuned viewers may have already made some obvious connections.
More recently, Smash Run's concept is a blatant rehash of Kirby Air Ride's City Trial
Also the achievement panel in Air Ride is quite similar to that in Brawl.
Air Ride's debug menu and SFX were the same or similar in Melee
And the main menu looks to be reimagined in Brawl.
There's Master Hand and how he looks similar to the Wham Bam Rock boss, and the
Hand from the game over screen? Maybe?
Luigi: OR THE ALL STAR REST AREA IS THE SAME IN KIRBY-
Luigi: MARIO - YOU'RE SWITCHING LINGUINE WITH SPAGHETTI
Mario: LUIGI YOU KNOW I LIKE VERMOUTH
And I could go on and on but the surface levels similarities are not what I want to focus on.
Sure there are many neat callbacks to the Kirby series in Smash but
Nothing is more interesting than the gameplay similarities at the core of Kirby and Smash Brothers
Especially in Kirby Super Star because let's be honest, the previous games
They didn't have much to do with Smash - look at this shit.
Everyone whos played this game knows how different and revolutionary it was for the whole franchise.
There are a lot of reasons why it's one of the best Kirby games.
To explain more, Kirby's adventure introduced the copy ability.
The abilities in this game had only one function -
Eat a fire enemy, you spit out fire
Eat the boomerang cutter, you get the boomerang cutter
Eat an enemy with a parasol, you're floating... have fun.
Now Kirby Super Star changes the whole game!
In this game, you don't get just 1 or 2 abilities but instead 3 and often MORE abilities.
For example, you eat a fire enemy you can spit out fire, become a fireball, roll like a fireball, DASH LIKE A FIREBALL!
BOOMERANGS! You can slice through enemies with the cutter like a sword, releasing uppercut slice!
I mean the parasol is kinda the sam-
WHOAAAA!
*Treasure by Bruno Mars plays*
Kirby dies a horrific death
And so on, you get the idea.
But take this in - Kirby's abilities are assigned to 3 buttons - a jump, shield and special button.
It sounds familar already but I'm not finished.
In Kirby's normal form, the special button is used for Kirby's inhale ability
But, when Kirby has an ability, this special button turns into the special ability.
And it gets craziers because if you just press the button, something happens.
But, say, you're dashing - you get a dash attack!
You get near an enemy you do some COO SHIY
And now it comes full circle, because if you think of Smash Brothers every action in that game
is associated with a direction and a button.
Normals, Tilts, Aerials, Smash Attacks
These different directions and the attack button give you different results.
And if you haven't put it together by now, everything that makes Smash different,
everything that makes Smash original,
was first in Kirby.
And you may think Kirby isn't all that technical of a game but
When you look into it, a lot of this stuff was first there.
multiple jumps,
a double tap dash,
The ability to fall through platforms,
stage hazards,
directional grabs,
and ability focused special moves which, I'd just like to say,
Smash defines characters moves based on a couple of traits similar to Kirby copy abilities.
Okay, here you come, I know you're coming just SAY it!
Hey.
Button combo exist in old game.
Marvel Capcom.
Ryu Fighter
Portal Chombed (?)
This
IS
SHIT
You don't know SHIT!
Okay, while I'm not shit
And I don't know why you were depicted in that way,
You're right.
Smash abilities aren't copy abilities and were much more unique once the game started to evolve
But where did Kirby get this directional focused abilities from?
Before Kirby Super Star, platformers usually didn't have special moves activated per button combo.
Most platformer controls were actually much simpler.
And when you think about it many other games are pretty restrictive in the abilities characters have
so level design can exist and there's actually a challenge.
Either the character can get a power up to help them in the game or they have abilities they depend on from the start.
Kirby was much different in that sense where you could just fly anywhere and beat the game relatively easily.
It's quite obvious then that Kirby Super Star didn't look towards other platformers for inspiration
But probably competitive fighters.
These games had button combinations that had to be pressed in succession so you could do an ability.
The difference being that those games were much more strict on inputs because, well, that's there thing.
Also there weren't any platforming elements - you didn't jump anywhere
- you were just fighting your opponents.
And this leads us to beat em ups because those have platforming sections
and button combinations but
they weren't really focused on platforming or jumping - they were more focused on...
Holy...
Is anyone else seeing this?
Holy shit...
We... we gotta talk about this
They just beat a man
until he exploded!
There's nothing left of him!
*faint screaming*
But all of this has a completely different feel in Kirby Super Star.
If we take a look at Sakurai's career and see what games he made
we can kinda see how Smash Bros. was conceived.
He took button combos from fighters and beat em ups and simplified for beginners in Kirby.
Then, he reutilized it into a pseudo-fighting game we all know as Smash.
Smash Bros. allowed Sakurai to explore and envision ideas he may of had for Kirby in a new way.
Firstly, the idea of Smash Bros. blast zone actually came from a scrapped idea from the first Kirby game.
Sakurai even designs moves the same way as he did with the copy abilities in Kirby Super Star,
As we can see with the microman from Sakurai's Brawl 2008 GDC slides.
And everyone who's played Subspace Emissary, you know that shit was taken right from Kirby Super Star -
f*ckin' health rooms, the co-op gameplay, the level design
the doors!
It wasn't just a one way trip, because Hal took many nods from Smash
and used it in Kirby like dodging,
Master Hand and Crazy Hand in the Amazing Mirror,
Having a Smash copy ability, and even having a whole mini-game based off Smash Bros.
These games not only share their creator but also share many of the same design philosophies.
And as it goes with Kirby Super Star being the Kirbified version of beat 'em ups
Super Smash Brothers was the Kirbified of fighting games.
And that's kinda why Smash Bros. and Kirby share a lot of the same DNA
Because why make something new if it's perfectly suitable for another format.
I really do think up and coming game developers should look towards Sakurai and his words
And kinda just take them into consideration.
I don't know, this guy has made so many kickass games and I think people can learn a thing or two
About making games from him!
Anyways, thank you for watching!

really expecting to make this today, but I will be losing my job in a few weeks
and this is pretty devastating both emotionally and financially. I'm still
to figure things out because as of right now I have not figured anything out.
I am convinced that I will die of
starvation in the next 48 hours this is despite the fact that I am actually
currently eating french fries like right now there's a plate of french fries in
front of me and also I know it takes more than two days to die of starvation
yeah I don't know what I'm doing.
Everything feels bad and messy and broken and like it's my fault and it's
not my fault sometimes things just don't work out and it wasn't a reflection on
me it's just a reflection on not being needed anymore and that also kind of
hurts anyways uh please subscribe or watch another video of mine or support me on

JUST IN: FBI Releases Bombshell Evidence Found On Anthony Weiner's Computer | Top Stories Today - Duration: 3:08.The tale of Anthony Weiner, his ex-wife Huma Abedin,
and Hillary Clinton has more twists and turns than a political drama book.
Buckle up, because the plot just thickened.
The Washington Examiner reported that at least 7,000 emails were recovered from Weiner's
private laptop.
The documents collected were directed to the State Department and feature plenty of emails
sent by Abedin, who was also Clinton's personal aide.
The Clinton campaign had said there were just "a handful" of emails.
Suddenly, we are looking at 7,000 and counting–this is going to be GOOD!
If Clinton is lying about the number of emails, we wonder what kind of information is contained
in those emails that "didn't exist."
The government watchdog group, Judicial Watch, is responsible for the email drop.
Judicial Watch first filed a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit.
The purpose of this lawsuit was to get Weiner to produce all the emails that Clinton's
former aide sent to him.
We know that Abedin had sent confidential information to non-government devices in the
past, and this is going to show what was sent to these particular devices in question.
Knowing Clinton and the gang, there will be some fascinating information to read once
the 7,000 emails are sorted through.
We knew that Hillary was up to no good for a long time, but we could have never dreamed
that information would STILL be popping up halfway through 2017.
President Trump has to be curious as to what kind of information will be uncovered as well.
He has explained on multiple occasions that he does not trust Clinton, that she is obviously
up to no good.
We could find some of the damaging information we need to put Hillary behind bars where she
belongs finally.
It is evident that there is more to her than the public sees.
She has lied about her emails in the past.
In that information, which was dropped by Wikileaks, we learned a lot of fascinating
information.
For example, that she was given the presidential debate questions early.
This, in our opinion, should have disqualified her from the race.
The truth is going to be revealed once these emails examined.
Hillary has a history of sending her private government emails to non-government servers,
so you better believe that these 7,000 emails are going to turn up some startling information.
They are ALL involved, Clinton, Abedin, Weiner, and even Obama.
He had to have known where these emails were going.
Let's not forget that Clinton and Obama are buddy-buddy.
Do you think she didn't tell her partner in crime?
Doubtful.
It is pathetic how little honesty we see coming from these people who are supposed to represent
us.
Thankfully, they are out of office now, and President Trump is entering crack-down mode.
We WILL see the fall of Hillary Clinton before it is all done.
Do YOU think Clinton, Abedin, and Weiner have something to hide?
Please Share this news and tell us what you think.

FREEBIE FRIDAY : FREEBIES AND SAMPLES JULY 7TH - 14TH 2017 | KOSMIC KRISTEN - Duration: 6:22.Hey everyone it's Kristen and today we are here with another Freebie Friday video where
I show you all the freebies and samples I've gotten during the week and got a couple of really
nice items this week so I'm excited to show you on my channel every Friday I do
a freebies in sample video and every Monday I do a makeup video and an
throughout the week we have other random videos also on our website I have a
daily freebie, sample, sweepstakes, and giveaway, post where you can see the
things that you can request that day rather than seeing them a week later I
think it can be helpful for those of you who are just getting started doing
freebies and samples this will be a good way to see the best places to find them
so if you guys are new said then to the link down below for that post and we're
going to go ahead and start out with the magazines here we have Sports
Illustrated, bridal guide, US weekly, Family Circle, Elle and Essence . for the first sample
today we have the L'Oreal Hydra genius for normal to dry skin and this seems to
be some sort of serum and here is the sample here and also a $2 off coupon
and I believe I requested this from their website but I found out about this
from Vonbeau the next sample we have here is three little samples of the goddess
Garden organic facial natural mineral sunscreen and With this they are supposed
to actually be good for you and with natural ingredients and I think you can
still request these so I leave link below if they are still available and I found
out about that promotion through freebie moms the next freebie we have here is a
pro renal all plus B multivitamin and this is for your kidneys and this is a
sample size that it just comes in this little bottle and I believe that on their
website when they were doing it they had a couple different ones you could choose
from and this is the one chose and this came from Nephro Ceauticals
website I'll put the name here in case said it wrong but I found out
about it through the Freebie mom as well next in the Neil med sinus rinse and this is
the full-size product and what you had to do to get this if you would go through
sort of like little slideshow quiz thing and you got I believe like
75% or better on the quiz you have to get a free product and there were a
couple different products to choose from but this is the one I went with and it comes
with the bottle itself and then some of the rinse that you're supposed to use in
it and they do this quite often the quiz thing was on their Facebook page I think
they often have to do it on their website as well so if you're interested
you can check out their website and I will leave the link down below where you can
see if this is still available but they do this quite often the next free
products that we have is from Black & Mild and little card that came with it and
black and mild is in tobacco company and often times tobacco and sometimes
alcohol companies will give free things to their fans and their customers and
what you have to do is find out to become sort of like a member of their
online club and from time to time there will be different samples or free
products available that sometimes doesn't really have to do with tobacco
or alcohol just sort of like water bottles promotional items and that sort
of thing and sometimes it does have to do with tobacco or alcohol whatever they
are about to sign up a new company do you have to be 21 and over and most
times you will have to go to the website and request them but you've all people
like free being in just three moms and if you check out my website I will let
you know when they are available to request and you just have to go on and
request it sometimes you have to do a little task but it's very easy to do and
they're usually very nice products and today from black and mild we have a
cigar case , little fancy case here and you unscrew the top there and it will
hold your cigars now for this next free product I cannot remember the life of me
what the name of this website was that are requested is from this was supposed
to be a motivational type poster and I don't remember again where I got it from
the website or just like that but they have it like two different posters you
to choose from and the one I chose I will show you in a
minute but it is a nice little poster between your office or your home and
this poster has a woman on a bike like she's doing a really hard biking trail
and they have a bunch of different quotes on here like be proud of your
finish no matter where it falls or worth it Manifesto for the not quite sure really
nice motivational posters I will do my best to time to be exact website where
our request is from and I will put the name here and the link down below if I
can find it sometimes I get things where I don't necessarily remember where I got
them from and sometimes I request something and it takes a long time to
get here and sometimes it doesn't sometimes I'll get it within a couple
days it just really depends on what kind of shipping method they have and when
exactly they ship it in a lot of stuff so sometimes I don't remember where
about the fungus because it takes so long for them to get here but if I can
find information I'll definitely put it here for you and you can find a lot of
stuff like this on Freebie Mom, Vonbeau Freebie Ninja and just looking online
and searching online for different free products websites that give things out
for free and last but not least is the Hask charcoal with citrus purifying dry
shampoo and if you guys are watching I don't think last week's video was a
week before that I had had a Hask Chia seed volumizing dry shampoo and I got
both of these from Brand Backer going to be sending me four in total their entire
line of dry shampoos and I've been doing a review on them I don't know why I
didn't send them altogether because I think it would take more money and more
and then separately but they're sending them separate and I haven't gotten the
other two yet so I'm looking forward to finding out what those are like and once
I have all four of them I'm going to just do one video on them to write all
about them so if your interested in that definitely subscribe to see that future
video that is it for this week's Freebies and samples it was kind of a short video
and not too much this time but I am expecting quite a few things to come in
very soon so on this channel as well I also do product reviews, beauty tutorials and
special effects tutorials if you guys are interested in any of that I would
love it if you would subscribe to this Channel and like me onFacebook Twitter
and Instagram and all the links to those will be down below as well you guys so so much
for watching! :)

How Do I Get Mercy? - Duration: 28:33.ANNOUNCER: THE FOLLOWING PROGRAM IS PAID FOR BY
THE FRIENDS AND PARTNERS OF JOYCE MEYER MINISTRIES.
JOYCE: WELL, GOD, I MESSED UP AGAIN.
I REPENT, LORD, I TURN AWAY FROM IT.
I DON'T WANT TO ACT LIKE THAT, I'M SO SORRY.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR FORGIVENESS.
I RECEIVE YOUR MERCY.
RUTH: EVERYBODY KNEW I WAS BILLY GRAHAM'S DAUGHTER, AND
THEY ALL THOUGHT I OUGHT TO BE SUPER SPIRITUAL, OR KNOW MORE
BIBLE, OR KNOW MORE HYMNS.
AND SO, YOU TRY TO MEET THOSE EXPECTATIONS, AND YOU'RE NEVER
ABLE TO BE YOURSELF.
GINGER: AS WE WALK THROUGH EACH NEW DAY,
WE ALL HAVE QUESTIONS.
THEY'RE JUST PART OF LIFE.
BUT DID YOU KNOW THERE ARE ANSWERS FOR YOU?
GOD SAYS WHEN WE LOOK, WE'LL FIND HIM.
HE'S NOT TRYING TO HIDE ANYTHING.
SO TOGETHER, WE ARE DISCOVERING LIFE'S EVERYDAY ANSWERS.
GINGER: WELCOME TO "EVERYDAY ANSWERS."
YOU KNOW, ON THE WALL BEHIND ME, WE HAVE SOME BEAUTIFUL
MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS.
AND IF I BEGAN TO PLAY ANY ONE OF THOSE, VERY SOON AFTERWARD
YOU WOULD START SCREAMING FOR MERCY.
THAT'S BECAUSE I CAN'T PLAY ANY OF THOSE INSTRUMENTS,
AND IT WOULD BE TERRIBLY PAINFUL FOR YOU.
THERE ARE MANY TIMES THAT WE NEED TO ASK FOR MERCY.
AND THAT'S A SIMPLE EXAMPLE, I WOULD GLADLY GIVE YOU
THAT MERCY.
BUT SOMETIMES, WE JUST DON'T FEEL LIKE WE DESERVE MERCY.
SO, HOW DO WE GET MERCY?
JOYCE IS GOING TO ANSWER THAT QUESTION SOON.
BUT FIRST, CHECK OUT THIS POLL THAT YOU TOOK PERHAPS ON
TWITTER.
WE ASKED THIS QUESTION, SOMETIMES IT'S DIFFICULT TO
BELIEVE THAT, A, GOD WANTS TO HELP ME.
B, I DESERVE GOD'S HELP.
OR C, GOD IS NOT MAD AT ME."
AND YOU'LL SEE THE RESPONSES THERE, IT WAS PRETTY MUCH EQUAL
ALONG ALL THREE OF THOSE THAT MANY OF US HAVE A VERY DIFFICULT
TIME BELIEVING THOSE THINGS.
DOES GOD WANT TO HELP ME?
DO I DESERVE THAT HELP?
AND IS GOD MAD AT ME?
WELL, ALL OF THOSE OPTIONS ARE BASED ON HOW WE FEEL ABOUT
OURSELVES, AND WHAT WE THINK GOD WILL DO BASED ON OUR ACTIONS.
BUT THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS.
HIS MERCY IS NEW EVERY DAY.
AND THAT'S SIMPLY BECAUSE OF WHO HE IS.
HE IS GOOD.
TODAY, RUTH GRAHAM WILL SHARE HOW MERCY HELPED HEAL HER FROM
THE CHALLENGES OF BEING THE DAUGHTER OF ONE OF THE MOST
WELL-KNOWN EVANGELISTS IN HISTORY.
AND FIRST, HERE'S JOYCE'S ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION,
DOES GOD WANT TO HELP ME?
JOYCE: WE'VE ALL GOT A STORY.
AND YOUR STORY IS IMPORTANT.
AND MAYBE YOU'RE ONE OF THE ONES WHO COULD GIVE YOUR VICTORY
REPORT, YOUR TESTIMONY OF WHAT GOD HAS DONE FOR YOU.
AND MAYBE YOU'RE IN THE PROCESS OF WATCHING GOD DO SOMETHING
FOR YOU.
OR MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, YOU'RE HERE TONIGHT AND YOU JUST
THOUGHT YOU HAD TO LIVE WITH IT.
IT'S AMAZING HOW MANY PEOPLE THAT EVEN ARE CHRISTIANS AND GO
TO CHURCH, I WAS ONE OF THEM FOR A LONG TIME, WHO HAS NO IDEA
THAT GOD IS INTERESTED IN ANYTHING OTHER THAN JUST SAVING
THEM AND GETTING THEM TO HEAVEN.
AND SO, I LIVED AS A BROKEN CHRISTIAN FOR A LONG, LONG,
LONG, LONG TIME.
AND I THINK IT'S BAD TO BE A PITIFUL SINNER, BUT IT'S REALLY
BAD TO BE A PITIFUL SAINT.
BECAUSE WE ARE GOD'S ADVERTISEMENT TO THE WORLD.
WE'RE HIS AMBASSADORS, AND HE'S MAKING AN APPEAL TO THE WORLD
THROUGH US.
AND SO, IT'S IMPORTANT FOR YOUR SAKE AND ALSO FOR HIS THAT IF
YOU'VE NEVER DONE IT BEFORE, THAT YOU MAKE A DECISION TONIGHT
THAT YOU'RE GOING TO GO ALL THE WAY THROUGH WITH GOD, AND
YOU'RE GOING TO BE EVERYTHING THAT YOU CAN BE IN HIM.
AND THAT YOU'RE NOT GOING TO LIVE FULL OF PAIN, AND SECRETS,
AND REGRETS FROM THE PAST.
BUT YOU'RE GOING TO GO ALL THE WAY THROUGH, AND YOU ARE GOING
TO BE WHOLE, AND YOU ARE GOING TO BE HAPPY, AND YOU ARE GOING
TO BE STRONG, AND YOU ARE GOING TO BE CONFIDENT, AND YOU ARE
GOING TO HOLD YOUR HEAD UP HIGH, AND YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE
THE DEVIL MAD EVERY SINGLE DAY THAT YOU'RE ON THIS PLANET.
AMEN?
[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
JOYCE: YOUR SOUL IS THE INNER PART OF YOU.
AND IT'S A PART THAT CERTAINLY WE CAN HIDE FROM PEOPLE
OUT HERE.
SOMETIMES, WE EVEN GET PRETTY GOOD AT HIDING IT
FROM OURSELVES.
YOU KNOW, I THINK ONE OF THE GREATEST THINGS THAT
WE CAN DO IS KNOW OURSELVES.
I MEAN REALLY KNOW YOURSELF.
AND THAT TAKES A LIFETIME TO REALLY KNOW YOURSELF AND TO BE
HONEST WITH YOURSELF.
BUT CERTAINLY GOD KNOWS US.
AND SO, IT'S VERY POSSIBLE TO LOOK ALL TOGETHER ON THE
OUTSIDE, AND YET BE A COMPLETE, TOTAL MESS ON THE INSIDE.
HAS ANYBODY GOTTEN GOOD AT DRESSING IT UP, AND TAKING IT
TO CHURCH, AND PUTTING ON YOUR CHURCH FACE?
BUT YET INSIDE, YOU'RE THINKING, "I AM FALLING APART, AND WHY IS
THIS NOT WORKING FOR ME?" THE CONDITION OF OUR SOUL IS NOT
ONLY FELT BY US, BUT IT'S ALSO FELT BY ALL THOSE THAT WE ARE IN
RELATIONSHIP WITH.
AND TO BE HONEST, THE BIGGEST FAVOR THAT YOU CAN DO YOUR
FAMILY IS TO BE A HEALTHY YOU.
A HEALTHY, WHOLE YOU, WHERE THEY DON'T HAVE TO WONDER EVERY DAY
WHAT VERSION OF YOU THEY'RE GOING TO GET.
COME ON.
YOU KNOW, DAVE SAYS, "I REMEMBER I USED TO DRIVE DOWN THE HIGHWAY
AT NIGHT AND THINK, 'I WONDER WHAT SHE'LL BE LIKE TONIGHT.'"
AND I DIDN'T KNOW EITHER UNTIL THE DEVIL TOLD ME.
I DIDN'T KNOW UNTIL I GOT UP AND SAW WHAT MY CIRCUMSTANCES
WERE GOING TO BE THAT WAY.
BECAUSE IF THEY WERE GOOD AND I WAS GETTING EVERYTHING I WANTED,
THEN I MIGHT BE HAPPY.
BUT I HAD NO STABILITY IN MY LIFE.
AND THERE'S NOTHING WORSE THAN BEING CONTROLLED BY YOUR
THOUGHTS, AND YOUR FEELINGS, AND WHAT PEOPLE SAY OR DON'T SAY,
OR WHAT PEOPLE DO OR DON'T DO, OR WHETHER YOU GET WHAT YOU WANT
OR YOU DON'T GET WHAT YOU WANT.
I WANT TO BE HAPPY ALL THE TIME, NOT JUST WHEN MY CIRCUMSTANCES
ARE TELLING ME THAT IT'S OKAY TO BE HAPPY.
IF THE SOUL IS WOUNDED, WE OFTEN WOUND OTHER PEOPLE.
MANY TIMES UNINTENTIONALLY, MANY TIMES WE DON'T EVEN KNOW THAT
WE'RE DOING IT.
BUT THAT'S WHY WE RUN INTO SO MANY PEOPLE IN THE WORLD, AND WE
THINK, "WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?" WELL, THEY'RE WOUNDED
ON THE INSIDE.
AND TO BE HONEST, SOMETIMES, INSTEAD OF JUST WANTING TO GET
AWAY FROM PEOPLE LIKE THAT, WE MIGHT WANT TO TAKE A LITTLE MORE
TIME TO FIND OUT WHAT'S GOING ON INSIDE THEM BECAUSE PROBABLY
THERE'S SOMEBODY THAT'S BLEEDING ON THE INSIDE AND DOESN'T KNOW
HOW TO GET THE HELP THAT THEY NEED.
SO I THINK LOOSELY, VERY LOOSELY, WE CAN SAY THAT
OUR SOUL IS OUR PERSONALITY.
IT'S THE WAY WE PRESENT OURSELVES.
AND SO, GOD CAN HEAL OUR PERSONALITY.
JAMES 1:21, I LOVE THIS SCRIPTURE, IT SAYS, "RECEIVE
THE WORD OF GOD WITH MEEKNESS BECAUSE IT CONTAINS THE POWER TO
SAVE YOUR SOUL."
IT DOESN'T SAY TO SAVE YOU LIKE SO YOU CAN GO TO HEAVEN.
IT SAYS THE WORD OF GOD IS THE HEALING BALM THAT WE NEED
THAT WILL BRING SALVATION AND A WHOLENESS TO THIS INNER LIFE,
TO MY MIND.
I TELL YOU WHAT, MY MIND HAS BEEN SAVED.
NOT JUST MY SPIRIT, MY MIND HAS BEEN SAVED.
WHEN THE BIBLE SAYS TO PUT ON THE HELMET OF SALVATION IN
EPHESIANS 6 AS PART OF OUR WARFARE WITH THE ENEMY, YOU KNOW
WHAT THAT MEANS?
LEARN HOW TO THINK LIKE A PERSON THAT'S SAVED.
DON'T KEEP THINKING LIKE SOMEBODY WHO'S NOT SAVED.
THINK LIKE A PERSON THAT'S SAVED.
AND THEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO BELIEVE EVERY LIE OF THE ENEMY.
MY FEELINGS HAVE BEEN SAVED AND ARE IN THE PROCESS OF
BEING SAVED.
BUT I'LL TELL YOU WHAT, I SURE DON'T LIVE BY MY FEELINGS
ANYMORE, NOTHING LIKE WHAT I USED TO A LONG TIME AGO.
AND EVEN MY WILL HAS BEEN SAVED, NOT JUST MY SPIRIT, BUT MY MIND,
MY WILL, MY EMOTIONS.
AND I NO LONGER HAVE TO DO JUST WHAT I WANT TO DO
BECAUSE I WANT TO DO IT.
AND I DON'T HAVE TO GET ANGRY ANYMORE IF I DON'T GET WHAT
I WANT.
BUT I CAN ACTUALLY NOW WANT WHAT GOD WANTS MORE THAN I WANT WHAT
I WANT IN MY LIFE.
THAT IS WHOLENESS AND REAL SALVATION.
GINGER: YOU MAY OR MAY NOT BE FAMILIAR WITH RUTH GRAHAM, BUT I
BET YOU KNOW HER FATHER, EVANGELIST BILLY GRAHAM.
RUTH GREW UP IN AN AMAZING FAMILY, BUT THE EXPECTATIONS
THAT OTHER PEOPLE PUT ON HER, PEOPLE OUTSIDE THAT FAMILY, GAVE
HER SOME VERY DIFFICULT CIRCUMSTANCES IN HER LIFE.
AND SITTING DOWN AND TALKING WITH HER ABOUT IT WAS
A PLEASURE.
I THINK YOU'LL ENJOY HER.
[MUSIC]
GINGER: IT'S SO VALUABLE TO UNDERSTAND THAT EXPECTATIONS DO
NOT ALWAYS COME FROM WHERE WE EXPECT.
IT WASN'T NECESSARILY YOUR PARENTS WHO PUT THOSE REALLY
DIFFICULT EXPECTATIONS ON YOU.
FOR YOU IT WAS OTHER PEOPLE, IS THAT RIGHT?
RUTH: THAT'S RIGHT.
MOTHER AND DADDY WERE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO PUT EXPECTATIONS
ON US BECAUSE THEY KNEW THAT THE WORLD WOULD, BUT THEY PUT
EXPECTATIONS THAT WE WERE GOD'S CHILDREN AND WE WERE
REPRESENTING JESUS CHRIST, AND SO--
GINGER: WHICH IS SO IMPORTANT RIGHT THERE, YEAH.
RUTH: THAT'S RIGHT.
AND THAT'S THE--THOSE ARE THE EXPECTATIONS YOU WANT TO PUT ON
CHILDREN, THAT THEY BELONG TO JESUS AND THEY REPRESENT HIM.
BUT THEY DID NOT SAY, "YOU'RE BILLY GRAHAM'S CHILDREN," OR YOU
KNOW, "YOU GOT BEHAVE A CERTAIN WAY, YOU GOT TO DRESS A CERTAIN
WAY."
THAT WAS NOT THE CASE AT ALL.
AND WE LIVED IN A VERY SMALL COMMUNITY THAT WAS POPULATED AT
THAT TIME BY RETIRED MISSIONARIES AND RETIRED
PASTORS.
SO, THEY KNEW THE PRESSURES OF FAMILY, AND THEY ALSO KNEW WHAT
IT WAS LIKE TO TRAVEL AND LEAVE FAMILY.
SO, WE WERE REALLY IN A SPECIAL AREA WHERE PEOPLE KNEW WHAT WE
WERE--WHAT WE WERE BEING RAISED IN, BUT THEY DIDN'T PUT
EXPECTATIONS ON US.
AND THAT WAS WONDERFUL, BUT THEN WHEN I WENT TO BOARDING SCHOOL,
MY MOTHER THOUGHT FOR US--'CAUSE SHE WAS SENT AWAY TO
BOARDING SCHOOL.
SHE WAS A MISSIONARY'S DAUGHTER IN CHINA.
AND SO, SHE THOUGHT THAT THE BEST EDUCATION WOULD BE
AT A BOARDING SCHOOL.
SO, WHEN I ARRIVED AT THE BOARDING SCHOOL, EVERYBODY KNEW
I WAS BILLY GRAHAM'S DAUGHTER, AND THEY ALL THOUGHT I'LL BE
SUPER SPIRITUAL, OR KNOW MORE BIBLE, OR KNOW MORE HYMNS.
AND SO, YOU TRY TO MEET THOSE EXPECTATIONS, AND YOU'RE NEVER
ABLE TO BE YOURSELF.
GINGER: YEAH, THAT'S REALLY THE KEY, ISN'T IT?
BECAUSE WHEN YOU FIND THAT PEOPLE ARE EXPECTING THINGS OF
YOU THAT YOU CAN'T MATCH, OFTEN WE TRY TO MAKE THEM THINK THAT
WE CAN, YOU KNOW?
TRYING TO-- RUTH: TO PRETEND.
GINGER: TO HIDE WHO WE REALLY ARE.
SO, HOW DID THAT IMPACT WHO YOU WERE AND HOW YOU SAW YOURSELF?
RUTH: WELL, I PRETENDED.
I HAD TO PLAY CATCH-UP, YOU KNOW, I WAS ALWAYS TRYING TO BE
WHAT THEY THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO BE, AND EVEN IN COLLEGE.
AND SO, I GOT THERE AND EVERYBODY ON CAMPUS KNEW I WAS
BILLY GRAHAM'S DAUGHTER, AND I HAD TO--I WAS DOING TWO YEARS
IN ONE.
I HAD TO DO MY SENIOR YEAR IN HIGH SCHOOL AND MY FRESHMAN YEAR
IN COLLEGE AT THE SAME TIME, AND I WAS STUDYING LIKE MAD.
I WAS UP IN MY ROOM JUST REALLY HITTING THE BOOKS.
EVERYBODY THOUGHT I WAS UPSTAIRS PRAYING AND MEDITATING.
THEY THOUGHT I WAS THE SUPER SPIRITUAL PERSON.
WELL, THE BOYS STAYED AWAY FROM ME IN DROVES, SO IT WAS A REALLY
DOWNSIDE TO THAT.
BUT I, AGAIN, TRIED TO MEET EXPECTATIONS.
AND MY PROFESSORS WOULD CALL ON ME, "MS. GRAHAM,
YOU KNOW THE ANSWER TO THAT."
WELL, I DIDN'T KNOW THE ANSWER, AND IT WAS UNFAIR.
IT WAS REALLY HARD TO DO.
AND ALL ALONG, I NEVER WAS ABLE TO OWN UP TO,
"I DON'T KNOW THIS."
YOU KNOW, I DIDN'T WANT TO FAIL.
IT WASN'T UNTIL YEARS LATER WHEN I DID FAIL AND I REALIZED I
HAVEN'T MET EXPECTATIONS THAT I THOUGHT, "YOU KNOW, I HAVE
AN AUDIENCE OF ONE, AND THAT'S THE ONLY PERSON THAT MATTERS."
AND SO THAT'S REALLY--AND LATER IN LIFE, THAT'S WHAT I CAME TO.
GINGER: WHAT WAS THAT BREAKING POINT?
BECAUSE THAT WAS MORE AS AN ADULT, CORRECT?
RUTH: YES, I WAS DEFINITELY AN ADULT.
IT WAS AFTER MY FIRST DIVORCE.
AND I WAS--I REALIZED THAT THAT TIME BACK IN THE EARLY '90S,
LATE '80S, EARLY '90S, IN THE CHRISTIAN WORLD,
YOU JUST DIDN'T GET DIVORCED.
AND I WAS, MATTER OF FACT, TOLD TO BUILD AN EXTRA BEDROOM ON MY
HOUSE AND JUST LET HIM LIVE THERE SO IT WOULD LOOK NICE.
AND I SAID, "NO, THAT'S NOT HONEST."
AND I HAD TO BE HONEST, AND I BEGAN TO BECOME HONEST TO SAY,
"NO, I'M NOT THIS WAY.
I'VE GOT TO DO THIS.
I'VE GOT TO DO--I'VE GOT TO DO WHAT GOD'S CALLED ME TO DO."
AND, BUT IT WAS NOT EASY.
AND SO I JUST SAID, "NO, I'M JUST NOT GOING TO DO THAT."
AND I BECAME AWARE IN A NEW WAY OF GOD'S TOTAL LOVE
AND ACCEPTANCE OF ME.
YES, MY HUSBAND HAD BEEN UNFAITHFUL, AND THAT WAS VERY
DIFFICULT ON ITS OWN SELF, BUT--AND WE TRIED TO MAKE IT
WORK, BUT IT DIDN'T.
AND SO, WE DIVORCED AFTER 21 YEARS.
AND I DIDN'T KNOW WHO I WAS, OR WHAT I WAS ABOUT, OR ANYTHING.
BUT I MARRIED QUICKLY IN A REBOUND MARRIAGE, AND THAT
LASTED FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS, AND HE DIVORCED ME.
AND I THOUGHT, "I HAVE REALLY BLOWN THIS."
YOU KNOW, MY PARENTS HAD SAID, "DON'T DO THIS.
WHY DON'T YOU WAIT?
SLOW DOWN."
BUT I WAS BOUND AND DETERMINED THAT I NEEDED TO BE, YOU KNOW,
TAKEN CARE OF, AND THAT I COULDN'T TAKE CARE OF MYSELF
BECAUSE I'D ALWAYS HAD SOMEBODY TAKING CARE OF ME.
AND FINALLY I REALIZED REALLY WITHIN 24 HOURS THAT I MADE
A TERRIBLE MISTAKE.
GINGER: WELL, HERE'S THE HARD THING IS WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES,
AND THEN WE ALL HAVE TO FACE HOW DO WE MOVE FORWARD?
WHAT DO WE DO IN THE FACE OF THOSE MISTAKES?
WHAT HAPPENED WHEN YOU TOOK THAT TO YOUR MOTHER AND YOUR FATHER?
RUTH: WELL, I HAD TO GO SEE THEM.
IT WAS A 2-DAY DRIVE, AND FEARS MULTIPLIED WITH EVERY MILE, AND
QUESTIONS SWIRLED IN MY MIND.
WHAT WERE THEY GOING TO SAY TO ME?
WHAT WAS I GOING TO SAY TO THEM?
WHAT ABOUT MY CHILDREN?
IF I HAD MADE SUCH A TERRIBLE MISTAKE, HOW COULD I EVER TRUST
MYSELF AGAIN?
I WAS JUST MISERABLE.
AND MY PARENTS LIVE ON THE SIDE OF A MOUNTAIN, AND I WOUND MY
CAR UP THE SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN.
AND AS I PULLED IN THE PLACE TO PARK THE CAR, MY FATHER
WAS STANDING THERE.
AND WHEN I GOT OUT OF THE CAR, HE WRAPPED HIS ARMS AROUND ME
AND HE SAID, "WELCOME HOME."
THAT CHANGED MY LIFE.
THAT CHANGED MY LIFE.
AND THE GRACE THAT HE SHOWED AND THE FORGIVENESS WAS JUST SO
COMPLETE.
AND I HAD ALWAYS KNOWN THAT MY FATHER LOVED ME, THAT WAS NOT
AN ISSUE.
BUT THAT WAS JUST SO EVIDENT TO ME THAT HE WAS GIVING HIS
DAUGHTER GRACE.
AND I HAD BLOWN IT, HE COULD'VE SAID, "WHY DID YOU DO THIS?"
NONE OF THAT.
HE WAS JUST SO LOVING AND KIND.
AND SO I, AT THAT POINT, REALIZED THAT I WANTED TO PASS
THAT GRACE ON TO OTHER PEOPLE.
YOU KNOW, THAT GOD HAD CALLED ME TO PASS THAT GRACE ON TO OTHER
WOUNDED PEOPLE.
AND SO, THAT'S WHAT I'M HAPPY TO DO.
GINGER: SO, THOSE EXPECTATIONS WERE PROVEN TO BE
VERY DIFFERENT.
HE DIDN'T PUT THAT GUILT ON YOU.
DID THAT HELP LIFT THE GUILT FROM YOURSELF AT THE SAME TIME?
RUTH: NOT AT THAT TIME.
I MEAN, I FELT WELCOMED AND, YOU KNOW, EMBRACED, BUT IT
WASN'T UNTIL LATER WHEN I WAS IN CHURCH.
AND I REALIZED THAT I NEEDED TO GO AND TO GET RIGHT WITH GOD.
AND I WAS--BUT I WAS AFRAID BECAUSE I WAS BILLY GRAHAM'S
DAUGHTER, AND EVERYBODY WOULD SEE ME, AND THEY'D THINK
SOMETHING WAS WRONG.
GINGER: HOW MANY TIMES HAVE WE ALL FELT LIKE THAT?
I CAN'T GO FORWARD IN CHURCH BECAUSE WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO
THINK I'M PRAYING ABOUT, YOU KNOW?
RUTH: THAT'S RIGHT.
SO, BUT I DID, I STEPPED OUT AND I WENT FORWARD, AND I WAS
THE ONLY ONE THAT WENT FORWARD.
THEY ALL SAW ME.
AND AT THAT POINT, I DIDN'T CARE.
BUT IT WAS A TIME FOR ME TO JUST HIT BOTTOM AND SAY,
"GOD, YOU TAKE THIS MESS."
AND HE DID.
IT WAS LIKE HE WAS LIFTING EVERYTHING OFF OF MY SHOULDERS
BIT BY BIT, THE GUILT, THE SHAME, THE HURT.
AND THAT CHANGED MY LIFE TOO.
YOU KNOW, IT WAS A COMBINATION OF MY FATHER'S GRACE, BUT THEN
MY HEAVENLY FATHER'S GRACE.
AND LATER, I'D HAVE TO SHOW MY CHILDREN GRACE, SO.
GINGER: SO, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONE WATCHING RIGHT
NOW WHO HAS FELT THE WEIGHT OF EXPECTATIONS IN THEIR LIFE?
NO MATTER WHO PUT THOSE EXPECTATIONS ON THEM, THEY FELT
THAT WEIGHT AS YOU HAVE.
HOW WOULD YOU TALK TO THEM ABOUT LETTING THOSE GO AND BEING
AUTHENTIC?
RUTH: WELL, FOR ME, IT WAS COMING TO UNDERSTAND WHO I WAS
IN CHRIST.
AND MY SCREENSAVER ON MY COMPUTER LISTS, "YOU BELONG.
YOU ARE LOVED.
YOU ARE VALUED."
BECAUSE WE HAVE TO RENEW OUR MINDS.
YOU KNOW, THE BIBLE SAYS TAKE EVERY THOUGHT CAPTIVE TO
THE OBEDIENCE OF CHRIST, AND WE DO.
AND THAT'S A BATTLE.
YOU HAVE TO TAKE EVERY THOUGHT CAPTIVE 'CAUSE THE ENEMY, WE
HAVE AN ENEMY, AND HE IS ALWAYS PLANTING THOUGHTS IN OUR MINDS.
"YOU'RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING.
YOU DIDN'T DO THAT RIGHT.
YOU BLEW IT.
WHY'D YOU DO IT THAT WAY?" WE HAVE TO COUNTERACT THAT WITH
THE SCRIPTURES, THE TRUTH OF GOD'S WORD, AND DO IT OVER,
AND OVER, AND OVER AGAIN.
AND LIKE I SAID, IT'S A BATTLE AND IT'S A PROCESS, AND I DON'T
THINK WE EVER ARRIVE UNTIL WE GET TO HEAVEN.
AND THEN WE WILL HAVE, YOU KNOW, THE LORD WELCOME US,
AND THAT WILL BE SO EXCITING.
BUT I THINK IT'S RENEWING YOUR MIND.
DOING THINGS THAT ARE HEALTHY FOR YOURSELF.
AND REMEMBERING YOU HAVE AN AUDIENCE OF ONE.
DON'T TRY TO PLEASE--YOU CAN'T PLEASE EVERYBODY.
IT JUST DOESN'T WORK, YOU'LL WEAR YOURSELF OUT.
AND JUST GET IN THE SCRIPTURES.
AND MY MOTHER GAVE ME A GREAT EXAMPLE, SHE ALWAYS HAD HER
BIBLE OPEN ON HER DESK.
AND SO, DURING THE DAY, SHE WOULD RUN BACK TO THE BIBLE,
JUST MAYBE IT WAS A WORD, MAYBE IT WAS A PHRASE, BUT SHE
SATURATED HERSELF IN THE SCRIPTURES.
GINGER: YEAH.
THAT'S LIFE-CHANGING TO YOU, ISN'T IT?
THANK YOU SO MUCH.
THAT IS JUST VERY ENCOURAGING FOR ALL OF US TO UNDERSTAND THAT
OUR HEAVENLY FATHER ISN'T LOOKING DOWN AND SHAKING HIS
HEAD AND SAYING, "YOU'VE LET ME DOWN.
THIS IS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED."
BECAUSE HE KNEW ALL ALONG WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN IN OUR
LIVES, AND HE NEVER STOPS LOVING US.
RUTH: THAT'S RIGHT, THAT'S RIGHT.
HE'S ALL LOVE, TOTAL LOVE.
GINGER: WELL, RUTH IS GOING TO BE JOINING US AT
WOMEN'S CONFERENCE THIS YEAR.
CANNOT WAIT, SO EXCITED.
YOU MADE ME CRY TODAY.
SO, WE'LL--WELL, I'M SURE IT'LL BE A LOT OF LAUGHTER,
A LOT OF TEARS.
IT'LL BE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND FOR ALL OF YOU LADIES WHO ATTEND.
SO, WE CAN'T WAIT TO HAVE YOU THERE.
RUTH: THANK YOU, I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO IT.
GINGER: WELL, WE HOPE YOU'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO IT TOO.
YOU CAN GO ONLINE AND YOU CAN STILL REGISTER.
IT IS NOT TOO LATE.
MAKE PLANS TO BE THERE WITH US.
GINGER: YOU KNOW, REFLECTING ON RUTH'S STORY, IT IS SO
WONDERFUL TO REALLY GRASP HOW MUCH OF A LOVING FATHER GOD IS.
HE LOVES YOU LIKE NONE OTHER.
HE KNOWS ALL OF YOUR DEEPEST, DARKEST SECRETS AND FAILURES,
AND YET THAT LOVE NEVER CHANGES.
AND HE IS WAITING TO EMBRACE YOU, JUST LIKE REVEREND GRAHAM
WAS THERE FOR HIS DAUGHTER.
YOU KNOW, COMING UP, JOYCE IS GOING TO ASK THAT ALL IMPORTANT
QUESTION, HOW DO I GET MERCY?
BUT FIRST, LET'S LISTEN TO YOUR VOICE.
GINGER: IT'S SO FUN HEARING BACK AND FORTH FROM ALL OF YOU
OUT THERE.
WE'RE SO GLAD THAT YOU'RE A PART OF THE SHOW IN THAT WAY.
AND A FEW EPISODES AGO, WE ASKED YOU TO TELL US ABOUT A HABIT
THAT YOU REALLY WANT TO BREAK, AND HERE ARE SOME OF YOUR
RESPONSES.
THESE ACTUALLY COME FROM INSTAGRAM.
MS. DEBRA SAYS, "CURRENTLY, I HAVE A NASTY HABIT OF
TALKING TOO MUCH.
I HAVE AN EXTREMELY SHARP MOUTH THAT INSULTS AND CLAPS BACK
AT PEOPLE A LOT.
I'LL BE SO GRATEFUL TO BREAK FREE FROM THIS HABIT."
WELL, MS. DEBRA, WE HOPE THAT'S GOING WELL FOR YOU.
THAT'S A HARD ONE FOR ALL OF US.
HERE'S ANOTHER ONE THAT SAYS, "I HAVE THE HABIT OF PUTTING
IMPORTANT DECISIONS OFF IN FEAR OF MAKING THE WRONG DECISION."
THAT'S ANOTHER GOOD ONE TO WORK ON.
AND LET'S DO ONE MORE HERE.
"I BRING ALL MEDIA DEVICES WITH ME AROUND THE HOUSE.
IT'S LIGHT AND HANDY FOR BIBLE READING, BUT THAT'S ONE OF THE
SIX THINGS THAT I USE THEM FOR.
I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE MORE CONTROL IN THE LENGTH OF TIME
I USE THE MEDIA DEVICES AND USE THEM FOR BETTER PURPOSES."
WHO DOES NOT HAVE THAT CHAIN TO YOUR MEDIA DEVICE, WHETHER IT'S
YOUR PHONE, OR YOUR LAPTOP, OR WHATEVER?
SO, I KNOW THAT'S A BIG PROBLEM FOR A LOT OF US.
BUT THOSE HABITS CAN CHANGE.
AND WE LEARNED WHEN WE TALKED ABOUT THIS BEFORE THAT REPLACING
OUR BAD HABITS WITH GOOD HABITS ARE THE KEY, SO DON'T GIVE UP.
TODAY, IF YOU CONNECTED WITH WHAT OUR FRIEND RUTH WAS SAYING,
LET US KNOW HOW HAVE OTHER PEOPLE'S EXPECTATIONS IMPACTED
YOUR LIFE.
YOU CAN DO IT ON SOCIAL MEDIA, PICK YOUR FAVORITE.
INSTAGRAM, TWITTER, #EA, OUR FACEBOOK PAGE.
AND OUR FINAL QUESTION TODAY THAT JOYCE IS GOING TO ANSWER,
IT'S WHAT WE'VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT ALL ALONG,
IS HOW DO I GET MERCY?
LET'S DISCOVER THE ANSWER TOGETHER RIGHT NOW.
JOYCE: GOD IS MERCIFUL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO GIVE YOU
ANY MORE SCRIPTURES ON THAT.
THERE'S HUNDREDS OF THEM IN THE BIBLE.
IF YOU WANT TO READ ANY MORE, JUST READ PSALMS,
GOD IS MERCIFUL.
BUT WE HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO RECEIVE GOD'S MERCY.
AND I CAN STAND HERE AND TALK ABOUT THIS FOR A LONG TIME
BECAUSE THERE ARE PEOPLE EVEN IN THIS PLACE TONIGHT, EVEN THOUGH
YOU BELIEVE GOD IS MERCIFUL AND YOU BELIEVE THAT GOD GIVES MERCY
TO PEOPLE, YOU REALLY HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED GOD'S MERCY
FOR YOURSELF.
GOD GIVES IT, WE RECEIVE IT, WE LET IT HEAL US, THEN IT CAN
FLOW THROUGH US.
BUT JUST TO SAY GOD IS MERCIFUL ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH.
NOW, LET'S TALK ABOUT TWO WORDS, THE WORD "GET" AND THE WORD
"RECEIVE."
WE GET MIXED UP.
GOD NEVER TELLS US TO GET ANYTHING.
YOU CANNOT FIND A SCRIPTURE THAT TALKS ABOUT ONE OF THE PROMISES
OF GOD THAT SAYS, "GO GET THAT PROMISE."
IT EITHER SAYS YOU'VE GOT IT, YOU HAVE IT, YOU ARE REDEEMED,
YOU HAVE BEEN SANCTIFIED.
AND SO, GOD WANTS US TO BELIEVE WE ALREADY HAVE IT, OR HE WANTS
US TO RECEIVE IT BY FAITH.
WE SAY THINGS LIKE THIS, "DID YOU GET SAVED?"
BUT THE BIBLE SAYS, "TO AS MANY AS RECEIVED HIM BECAME--HE GAVE
HIM POWER TO BECOME THE SONS OF GOD."
PAUL SAID TO THE CORINTHIANS, "HAVE YOU RECEIVED
THE HOLY SPIRIT?" WE RECEIVE FROM GOD.
YOU SAY, "WELL, JOYCE, WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL?"
WELL, HERE'S THE BIG DEAL.
THE WORD "GET," IF YOU LOOK IT UP IN A DICTIONARY, MEANS TO
OBTAIN BY STRUGGLE AND EFFORT.
YOU CAN'T GET GOD'S MERCY.
YOU CAN'T BUY GOD'S MERCY.
THE ONLY THING YOU CAN DO IS RECEIVE IT.
TO RECEIVE MEANS TO OPEN UP AND, AS A RECEPTACLE, TO TAKE IN
WHAT'S BEING OFFERED.
WOW.
WELL, GOD, I MESSED UP AGAIN.
I REPENT, LORD, I TURN AWAY FROM IT.
I DON'T WANT TO ACT LIKE THAT, I'M SO SORRY.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR FORGIVENESS.
I RECEIVE YOUR MERCY.
I THINK THAT WE NEED TO TAKE A LITTLE MORE TIME RECEIVING
WHEN WE PRAY.
WE GO, "OH, GOD FORGIVE ME, GOD FORGIVE ME.
OH GOD, FORGIVE ME, FORGIVE ME, FORGIVE ME."
BUT WE NEVER TAKE THE TIME--VERY OFTEN WE DON'T TAKE THE TIME
TO JUST STOP, JUST TAKE EVEN 30 SECONDS AND JUST SIT QUIETLY
IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD, AND JUST BELIEVE I AM RECEIVING THAT
FORGIVENESS NOW.
MY SIN IS WASHED AWAY.
GOD IS GIVING ME MERCY.
YOU GOT TO RECEIVE THE MERCY OF GOD.
WHEN MERCY IS EXTENDED TO YOU, DO YOU RECEIVE IT, OR ARE YOU
STILL KIND OF MAD AT YOURSELF?
IT'S OFTEN DIFFICULT TO JUST RECEIVE MERCY BECAUSE WE TRY TO
DESERVE IT, AND YOU CAN'T DESERVE IT.
IT'S AN UNREASONABLE, RADICAL, RIDICULOUS GIFT THAT NOBODY CAN
MAKE ANY SENSE OUT OF.
AND THERE'S ONLY ONE THING THAT YOU CAN DO, AND THAT'S
RECEIVE IT.
THERE ARE PEOPLE IN HERE TONIGHT THAT YOU NEED--YOU NEED TO LEAVE
THIS PLACE, AND YOU NEED TO GO HOME, AND YOU NEED TO TAKE
SOME TIME RECEIVING.
COME ON, IT'LL CHANGE YOUR LIFE.
GINGER: WELL, UNDOUBTEDLY EVERY ONE OF US NEEDS MERCY.
WE DESPERATELY NEED MERCY.
BUT TOO OFTEN, WE FEEL LIKE WE JUST DON'T DESERVE IT, OR
THERE'S SOMETHING BETWEEN US AND THAT MERCY.
BUT WHAT WE'VE LEARNED TODAY IS THAT MERCY IS AN UNREASONABLE,
RADICAL GIFT.
IT'S SOMETHING THAT WE CAN'T INTELLECTUALIZE OR FIGURE
IT OUT.
WE JUST HAVE TO RECEIVE IT BECAUSE IT'S THERE FOR US.
WE WANT TO HELP YOU UNDERSTAND THAT, UNDERSTAND WHAT GOD
HAS FOR YOU.
SO, WE HAVE SOME RESOURCES FOR YOU TODAY THAT WILL BRING MERCY
ALIVE FOR YOU.
IT WILL HELP YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT MERCY, WHAT
GOD WANTS TO DO IN YOUR LIFE, AND THE FREEDOM THAT HE WANTS
TO GIVE YOU THROUGH HIS MERCY.
THE FIRST ONE IS JOYCE'S BOOK "BEAUTY FOR ASHES."
THIS IS JOYCE'S STORY, AND IT IS A WONDERFUL BOOK THAT HAS HELPED
SO MANY PEOPLE ACCEPT THAT MERCY IN THEIR LIFE.
WHEN YOU READ HER STORY, YOU WILL SEE HOW, IN MANY, MANY
WAYS, IT IMPACTS YOURS BECAUSE IT'S TAKING GOD'S WORD AS IT
APPLIES TO HER LIFE, BUT YOU'RE THEN APPLYING IT TO YOURS.
AND AS WELL AS READING, WE HAVE SOMETHING FOR YOU CALLED
"HEALING THE SOUL OF A WOMAN."
THIS IS A NEW RESOURCE FROM JOYCE, AND IT'S A GREAT ONE.
YOU WILL GET THIS ON DVD SO THAT YOU CAN WATCH IT, AS WELL AS ON
CD SO YOU CAN LISTEN TO IT WHEREVER YOU GO.
AND THIS IS TALKING ABOUT THOSE DEEP SOUL WOUNDS, THOSE THINGS
THAT MANY, MANY WOMEN FACE THAT WE JUST CAN'T HANDLE ON OUR OWN.
BUT GOD'S MERCY IS THERE FOR US TO GIVE US WHAT WE DON'T
DESERVE, AND TO KEEP US FROM THE PUNISHMENT THAT WE DO DESERVE.
THIS IS REALLY ALL ABOUT UNDERSTANDING THAT THERE IS
HEALING FOR YOUR LIFE.
JOIN US NEXT TIME ON "EVERYDAY ANSWERS" FOR THIS.
JOYCE: COME ON, I'M WANTING YOU TO GET AN ATTITUDE OF,
"OKAY, I'M JUST NOT GOING TO LAY DOWN AND JUST PUT UP WITH
THIS ANYMORE.
I'M GOING TO PRESS IN LIKE THE WOMAN WHO HAD
THE ISSUE OF BLOOD.
I'M GOING TO PRESS THROUGH THE CROWD, AND I'M GOING TO
TOUCH THE HEM OF HIS GARMENT, AND TRUST HIM FOR HEALING
AND WHOLENESS."
GINGER: SEND US YOUR QUESTIONS.
WE ARE TACKLING THEM ONE BY ONE, AND MAKING SOME REAL HEADWAY.
SO, IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ASK ANYTHING AT ALL, YOU CAN GO TO
OUR EVERYDAY ANSWERS PAGE ON JOYCEMEYER.ORG AND SUBMIT YOUR
QUESTION THERE.
IF YOU DO IT ON SOCIAL MEDIA, USE #ASKJOYCE.
TODAY, JUST LIKE WE'VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT, FREELY RECEIVE
THAT MERCY THAT GOD HAS FOR YOU.
AND SHOW SOME MERCY TO SOME OTHER PEOPLE AROUND YOU.
WE'LL SEE YOU NEXT TIME.

MIKA Giffoni 2017 - «WHEN I WAS TEENAGER» (Eng sub) - Duration: 6:55.Hi, Mika.. forgive me.. I'm so moved.. My name is Chiara. - Hi.
My Questions is about Respect That we, Teenagers, have towards you.
It's also about your Positivity That you're able to trasmit to us.
We are full of internal Conflicts & Insicurity.
My Question is : - How was Mika when he was 13 y.o. ? How Music & Life helped you to change ?
When you ask a Question like this - It's difficult not to say the Truth. So.. how I was at this age ?
I was quite Fat when I was young. I say it because it's important. Because I changed very quickly.
@ 13 y. I was Short & Fat. @ 14 y. I was super-High & super-Slim.
This change was very Strange & Shocking. I don't know why I'm talking about it now..
I remember the Day when I discovered this Changing.
That Day I noticed that I was able to run Fast. But before that Day.. when I was running.. I feel Pain between my legs..
Now.. meanwhile I'm here super-Uncomfortable.. Telling to you all this "Dirty stuff".. I'm looking for the Reason "WHY" I say it..
Maybe because exactly this Contrast : From one thing to another, like "Bom, Bom" - That what was my Teens.
Thanks, God, - I had the Music. I started to work & earn Money @ age of 9.
My Childhood was strange as well. I had beautiful Life in France, in Paris.
My Father had a Good Job & enough Money. We had "Bourgeois Life" & Private School.
Then.. my Father was taken as a Hostage In American Embassy in the 1st Gulf War.
He came back 8 months later. But he wasn't the same person anymore. A part of his Soul was destroyed by this experience.
At that moment I understood That Life could change very quickly.
He was back, but he lost his Work.. We lost all - our House, private School
We had troubles with Taxes, we should leave. We left France & went in England. We were living in "Bad & Breakfast" for 1,5 year.
I restarted to study in a New School and.. I had a lot of Problems there..
My Dyslexia got worse, I forgot how to Read & Write. Let's keep it short - I was expelled from School.
But I started to sing & after 6 months I was singing @ "Royal Opera" in London. I started to work..
So.. when we came to 2d, "bad" part Of our Life - I was Teenager @ that time.
Thanks, God, I'd already had Music.. It guided me when I was young.
My Teens was premature, it started @ age of 9.
My 2d School was horrible, all was difficult there. But @ the same time I had another World - World where I was working without any Fear.
I had 2 Worlds - so I had a Choise. And I chose to go to Music Direction.
About Teens - my worst Problem was my Identity.
Being Dyslexic was the most difficult Trouble in School. But there was another Problem @ my Teens - Sexuality.
If someone doesn't know it yet - I'm a gay.
If I should speak like I'm doing it now with you, But @ age of 13 - it would be my worst Nightmare.
And now.. I'm speaking about it.. So.. it's a huge Changing for me..
Again about the Music, about my Songs.. The Words in my Songs were Hidden Messages. They were a great Help for me.
In this way I created Identity which was hidden Not only from my School, but from my Family too.
We all need a bit of Our Own Space. The Words helped me to understand who I was.
I don't tell this Story everywhere. But I feel that I have to tell it HERE.
Because here you all are obsessed with Writing, New Ideas which are very Important @ Your Age.
Writing helps you to develope Your Identity. Like it was for me.

Kate on Kids Prince George and Princess Charlotte: "I Want to Teach Them Kindness, Respect - Duration: 2:34.Kate Middleton just made a sweet confession about her two kids, Prince George and Princess
Charlotte!
As part of Children's Mental Health Week, Kate and Prince William visited Mitchell Brook
Primary School in London on Monday, February 6.
The much-loved duo were eagerly greeted by dozens of flag-waving children, many of whom
were fortunate enough to share a special moment with the young royals before the event commenced.
Kate, a longtime patron of the childrens mental health charity Place2Be made a touching
speech during the couples visit.
Recalling her own experiences as a child, Kate revealed that she hopes to pass many
of the important life lessons her parents taught her onto her two children, George,
3, and Charlotte, 1.
"My parents taught me about the importance of qualities like kindness, respect, and honesty,
and I realize how central, values like these have been to me throughout my life, the
35-year-old Duchess said.
That is why William and I want to teach our little children, George and Charlotte,
just how important these things are as they grow up.
In my view, it is just as important as excelling at maths or sport," she continued.
Kate, who has been praised by mental health professionals for sparking a sea change
in the way childrens mental health is addressed, also touched on her immense passion for the
cause.
People often ask me why I am so interested in the mental health of children and young
people.
The answer is quite simple: it is because I think that every child should have the best
possible start in life, she said.
"When I was growing up I was very lucky.
My family was the most important thing to me.
They provided me with somewhere safe to grow and learn, and I know I was fortunate not
to have been confronted by serious adversity at a young age," Kate added.

(500) Days of Summer - Expectations vs. Reality - Duration: 6:33.There are a lot of great scenes in Marc Webb's directorial debut, (500) Days of Summer.
Some of them are fun, some are relatable.
But there's one in particular, closer to the end of the movie, that perfectly captures
the message of the film.
It's only about 3 minutes long, but in that brief window of time, so much of what makes
the movie great is revealed to us.
So I want to look at how Webb does this, and why the scene is so impactful.
Now, at this point in the film, the two main characters Tom and Summer, played by Joseph
Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel respectively, have just broken up after a very complicated,
year-long relationship.
The breakup left Tom feeling depressed and emotionally drained, crushed by the loss of
the person that made him feel as if -
Tom: "Life is worth it?"
A few weeks later they run into each other on the way to a mutual friend's wedding
and hit it off - or at least, that's how Tom sees it.
The scene in question takes place just after that, on the night of a party that Summer
invites Tom to.
To Tom this is his final chance; if he can get everything just right, then he can win
Summer back.
By coming to the party with the intention of enacting this "perfect scenario" to
fix his relationship with her, he creates expectations for the night that don't quite
line up with reality.
This split screen motif is used a few other times throughout the film.
It usually denotes a physical distance between Tom and Summer, but a sense of psychological
closeness; usually when they're thinking of each other, or doing something similar.
Here though, that separation is used to denote a disconnect between Tom's hopeful expectations
and his perception of reality.
And these separations are noticeable from the very start of this effect.
Tom thinks he'll get up the stairs no problem, when in fact he's actually a little slow.
He expects a bunch of compliments from Summer and a kiss on the cheek when he shows up at
the door, but all he gets is a friendly greeting.
He imagines a small party with friendly people, but instead is presented with a sea of strangers.
The scene almost becomes a game of spot the difference, trying to find what parts of the
night Tom constructed in his mind before he even got there - and it becomes hard not to
wonder why did he imagine it that way
Tom obsesses over the tiniest components of this moment: concerning himself with what
will be strewn across the room - flowers instead of beer bottles; the lighting - a blue hue,
something that's usually tied to scenes that are with or about Summer, instead of
an orange one; the furniture and seating arrangements - how intimate they are.
And as the scene moves forward, and these moments that Tom has so meticulously set up
in his mind deviate further and further from what's really happening right in front of
him, we see him become more distant from the party.
It all leads up to a beautifully symbolic crescendo, with Tom's expectation of a door
closing on him and Summer in an embrace being used metaphorically to show his expectations
being wiped away, and consumed by the weight of the realities before him.
And in this moment, a truth of Tom and the movie itself is revealed to us.
For the majority of the film, there is no real antagonist.
Most people will perceive the antagonist to be Summer; she's leading Tom on, making
him feel as if their relationship will be more than just something casual.
But Summer very blatantly states that that's not what she's looking for -
Summer: "I'm not really looking for anything serious..." -
and Tom goes along with that -
Summer: "Is that okay?"
Tom: "Yeah."
It's not until he puts his foot down and demands that they be a couple against Summer's
wishes, that we start to see her unhappy.
And in this scene, at this specific moment, we learn that, despite what the music is telling
us: Tom is not the hero of this story.
He's the villain.
Tom is an architect, not just in the literal sense, but in the metaphorical one as well.
He was raised on a set of ideals for love instilled in him through film, music, and
television.
And he tries to construct the perfect scenarios for his romantic life through those ideals,
and in essence, tries to turn his life into the perfect movie.
This scene is the first time we really get a concrete observation of how Tom plans out
scenarios in his head between him and Summer.
This kind of disconnect in Tom's perceptions is something that happens a few times before
this scene, where we're shown moments that may not be exactly as they're presented
to us.
We don't know if that kiss in the copy room ever really happened, or if it was just how
Tom wanted to remember it happening.
And when these scenarios don't turn out quite how he expected, he has a sort of break
down.
The world that he creates for himself falls apart, and there's never anyone else to
blame but himself.
It's not Summer's fault, or his sister's, or his friends', it's his own.
He even makes note of this in a later scene:
Tom: "It's these cards.
And the movies, and the pop songs - they're to blame for all the lies.
And the heartache.
Everything.
And we're responsible.
I'm responsible."
And really, that's the message of the scene and the film as a whole: creating ideals for
love only leads to heartache, and accepting life and love for what they are, is important
to keeping you grounded in reality.
Tom spends the whole movie trying to create the best possible relationship he can, ignoring
the sad moments and the clear signs of frustration and neglect, in order to focus on the ones
that went the way he expected.
But all that leads to is disappointment and obliviousness.
Webb's ability to so perfectly capture that message within the span of just a little over
3 minutes may have come from his background as a music video director.
Those types of productions sometimes have to cram an entire story into the span of a
few minutes using only music and visuals, something Webb has had success with in the
past.
It may also explain why Regina Spektor's Hero fits so perfectly in the background,
not just in terms of tone, but in the message of the lyrics.
"Never ever saw it, comin' at all."
"Open wide here comes original sin."
"I'm the hero of story; don't need to be saved."
We've all had moments like this, where we go into something expecting to know how the
events will proceed; constructing how conversations will go down and what the eventual conclusions
will be.
And that may be why so many people connect with this scene.
But if there's one thing they should have gotten from this scene, it's that when things
don't go quite as perfectly as you planned them, often the only person you have to blame
is you.

Trump Is Losing Support From The Republicans Standing Between Him And Impeachment - Duration: 4:21.Technically, at this point, there is only one group of people standing in the way of
Donald Trump and impeachment.
Those people are the Republicans in the House of Representatives led by Paul Ryan.
You would think, as any rational human being would do, when you understand you only have
one set of allies protecting you from certain doom basically, you'd probably want to be
nice then.
You'd probably not want to be a complete jackass and have members of your staff like Steve
Bannon openly insulting them and calling them names and saying that they're worthless and
useless leaders.
However, that's exactly what's happening within the Trump Administration.
Donald Trump is losing his only allies in Congress, and that significantly hurts his
chances of surviving for four years as president.
If he continues to alienate people like Paul Ryan in the House and Mitch McConnell in the
Senate, because the Senate's the one that has to vote for conviction, he's not going
to have anybody there to protect him when we finally get the information that we need
to go forward with full-blown impeachment.
Now articles of impeachment have already been filed.
Those likely will go nowhere.
I'm hoping they get rescinded or hoping they get built upon if the Bob Mueller special
prosecutor investigation concludes at a timely manner before these articles get decided upon.
There will be something, I have no doubt, that could lead to Donald Trump's impeachment,
but if he has those allies in the House, it will not go far whatsoever.
It has no chance.
He doesn't seem to understand that sometimes you got to play nice with other people in
order to save your own ass, because that's what's at stake here, Mr. Trump.
Meanwhile, Steve Bannon is out there calling Paul Ryan some pretty horrible names, names
that I haven't even called Paul Ryan, and you're just letting it happen.
If Paul Ryan chose, he could absolutely bring those articles of impeachment to a vote.
He could meet with his Republicans behind closed doors and say, "Let's get him out of
there.
We can work better with Pence anyway."
I would suggest you understand that Paul Ryan at this point probably has a little bit more
power than you do, buddy.
Furthermore, it's not just Republicans in the House of Representatives or the Senate
that are starting to get annoyed with Donald Trump.
The Republican donor class is tired of Donald Trump, according to a new report on Alternet,
and they're ready to start dealing with President Pence.
They understand that Donald Trump is not a uniter, he's not a leader.
He's not somebody that a majority of Republicans in the House or Senate and even the country
are going to rally behind.
He's not the kind of guy that brings people together and, unfortunately for the Republican
donor class, if they want those precious little gifts like tax breaks, they're going to have
to have all of the Republicans working together and possibly even some of the Democrats.
Donald Trump isn't the guy to do that, but Mike Pence would.
He's a great puppet for the wealthy elite.
While that would be bad for the country, the Republican donor class understands that they
can get their members in the House, the people they've bought and paid for, to turn on
Donald Trump and absolutely go forward with impeachment.
Things are looking really bad for Donald Trump right now, and, unfortunately, regardless
of the outcome, things are going to be bad for this country.
One way or another, this ruling class is going to get what they want, at least to some extent.
The only way to counter that is to let it happen now because, unfortunately, I don't
think there's enough to fight it, and then vote these Republicans out of office in 2018,
get Pence or Trump or whoever it is out of office in 2020 and start making the government
once again work for the people instead of just the wealthy elite.

What If Everybody On Earth Vanished Except YOU (What Would YOU Do If Everyone Disappeared) - Duration: 8:40.Hello people my name is seven and today I have a very special video for you.
We're gonna be tackling my biggest childhood fear in my childhood..?
Okay…
Today we're answering the question: What would happen if everyone on Earth vanished…except
for you.
What would our unlucky individual feel, what would he or she do (yes, she could be a woman
#Lastpeopleonearthcanbewomentoo) and what would the world look like.
The first couple of days: So let's say that you wake up one day and,
for the purposes of imagination, the moment you wake up is the moment where everyone disappears.
I don't know.
Somehow, opening your eyelids managed to create a disruption that wiped out everyone on Earth
leaving no trace.
Go figure.
What would be the first thing you would notice?
The radio would take about 10 minutes to stop working.
Most radio stations have a few segments of music and ads already queued up for smooth
transitions with DJs popping in once in a while to add more things to the queue.
Once all the songs are over there will be nothing, the radio station will still be on
so you won't be hearing any static like when you're shuffling between stations.
The radio stations will all be silent, no sound whatsoever.
I mean, except for the classical music station, you know the one that runs on an infinite
queue of a classical music library and nobody listens to.
Yeah, that one will still run.
TV is more of the same.
News channels will stop immediately and depending of what the channel was doing when it all
went down, you may see an empty tv news studio with no anchor.
Other channels that run films and prerecorded shows will run until the show ends, which
may take up to a couple of hours.
This would be the first wake up call for our little individual.
Obviously, he would have had no way of knowing that this was a worldwide thing so he would
probably assume that there was some kind of small accident with all the TV stations.
So naïve.
And now we much touch upon the subject of denial.
Because we are the creators of this hypothetical hellhole, WE KNOW there is only 1 person on
earth.
Our test subject, however, would have no way of knowing so.
Because of that and because the Earth is Huge with over7,5 billion people, he would kind
of be in a perpetual denial state where matter what he does, he will never know for sure
if everybody's gone.
So when he walks out of his house on the first day and notices that all of his neighbors
disappeared, he can only assume that his neighborhood has vanished.
The streets would be silent, the only thing you would ear would be the wind hitting the
taller buildings causing them to hum.
Like these videos here.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4263718/Skyscreechers-buildings-whistle-high-winds.html As he walks further away, the radius of doom
enlarges, so it's no longer his neighborhood that has vanished, but the entire district,
then town, then region, then country, then continent, then world, then univer….whoops,
got carried away, went too far.
So let's assume that by the first couple of days, our little lab rat has concluded
that there is no one in his town.
How would he survive?
Well, food and water wouldn't be a problem, as grocery stores would be full of it.
And even if most foods go bad, canned goods can last for a few years.
Housing wouldn't be a problem, as you could simply break into a home if you had wondered
too far from your neighborhood.
But there's a bigger problem.
After about 2 days is when we can expect the power grid to go off.
This heavily depends on where you live and where your power comes from.
Solar and wind power plants, can run for about a week unattended while on the other hand,
coal and oil plants will only last about a day as they require constant deliveries of
coal and oil.
Nuclear power plants, contrary to common belief, will not explode and cause Chernobyl 2.0 as
they are computer automated and have multiples fail safes nowadays.
We can expect these to run for about less than a week unattended.
Because of that, we will just assume that power will start becoming a problem at about
2 days.
At this point, because of his perpetual denial state and the fact that 90% of all the food
in stores just went bad due to the power outage, our subject will want to start looking for
other people outside of his city, further expanding the doom radius.
It's very likely that he will want to get a vehicle so the real question is: lambo or
Ferrari?
So once the hard questions are out, we can assume that our test subject has left his
city in search for other people after a few days.
The first week.
The roads would be chaos, because cars don't simply stop when their drivers vanish, the
roads in the city would be full of pileups.
Intercity highways and national roads would also be scenes of disaster with cars crashing
onto trees on the side of the roads, fires and destruction.
Airplanes would be problems too.
Most commercial flights run on autopilot but the landing is still done by the pilots.
So we can assume the most flights had travelled roughly to their destination, overshooted
them and crashed somewhere inland.
Right now, you little man is driving through the country looking for someone else, after
that, he will leave the country and start looking in cities within the continent.
Now it's a good time to talk about the mental problems that he has been facing.
Since the beginning, our subject has been suffering with anxiety and stress.
The sheer fact of being alone in the world is frightening to anyone and he is no exception.
Multiple experiments have been made in subjects in extreme isolation and they weren't able
to survive for 1 day.
People can't live without any social interaction.
However, those experiments were made in small isolated rooms.
In our case, our little man has the entire world to explore which was delayed his fall
into madness.
However, we can expect him to start having hallucinations due to isolation within this
first week, adding to the stress and anxiety that we mentioned earlier.
Pro tip: get a dog, or cat or even a goldfish, I don't care.
But getting a pet for company would have really helped in this hypothetical situation.
At first the hallucinations would be subtle, but still crazy: he would start to see flashing
lights out of the corner of his eye at night and quiet sounds of people around him.
As time passes, these would get stronger and more vivid.
The first month.
At this point, two options arise: Either you've fallen completely into madness and decided
to do something stupid and ended your life, or you have learnt to live with it and decided
to make the most of your life.
There are people that live isolated from everybody else in some secluded areas of the world so
it is possible.
And there are plenty of things to do in a world with no people like driving an expensive
car naked or stealing your own private jet naked or fart and have no one to complain
about it…
Also naked.
So yeah, I wanted to end this video on a positive note, so I guess farting at will will be that.
So anyways, I hope you enjoyed it, please leave it like and I guess I'll see you next
time b-bye.

The World of Blocks - Duration: 4:19.Wiser: Did I ever tell you the story
about a magical world where anything is possible?
Boy: I don't know. I've heard about many places where anything is possible.
Wiser: But have you heard of the World of Blocks?
Boy: Why is the scene so blurry?
Graphics today really should be better than this.
Wiser: Oh, sorry. I need to adjust the focus.
Better?
Boy: Wait, this is the improved version?
I thought you said this was a magical world where you could do anything.
What happened to the circles? What happened to the...
Wiser: This world is much better than you might think on the surface.
This world is full of endless possibilities and creativity.
Boy: Well, what even is there?
Wiser: First, we must explore the surface.
Here, we have a biome of dessert.
Boy: Wait a minute! "Desert" only has one "s."
Wiser: No one would have known I spelled it wrong if you hadn't had the nerve to mention it.
Boy: They could have always enabled the closed captioning feature.
Wiser: *interrupting* Anyway,
as I was saying, the land of dessert is a marvelous place
where you can find all sorts of biodiversity.
Including rabbits,
smaller rabbits,
and cactus.
Boy: Wow, things are really getting interesting here...
Wiser: Okay, maybe the land of dessert was not the place to go to first.
Let us go to the Ice Spikes!
Ah, now this is beautiful terrain!
You can see the whole world from this perspective!
It's like an Icy Shrine built by ancient peoples!
Boy: Well, what kind of wildlife resides here?
I would bet you this is the exact same as a desert biome.
Wiser: Well, in fact, my boy, there is diverse wildlife here.
There's polar bears, and, uh...
fish?
Boy: You put that fish in an item frame,
I saw that!
Wiser: Well alright. Stop being so judgmental.
I'm sure this world of blocks has something more to offer.
Ah! I found something!
Let us go to another dimension...
Boy: What is this place?
Wiser: Why this is hell, my boy!
Boy: Hell? Why the hell would you bring me to hell?!?
Wiser: Now, now, son. You mustn't get so worked up about things.
Even the darkest of places have beauty inside of them.
Look at all the various creatures that live here!
There's floating stick man!
The bouncing block of fire!
And even a zombie pigman.
Boy: So what possibilities of things can we do in this biome?
Well, we can create all sorts of structures in here.
Including bringing trees from the overworld,
and creating a hell tree farm.
Creating large dome structures,
and creating a base inside this place.
Or even create secret passages and traps.
Boy: Wait, so what you're telling me
is that the only purpose of this place
is to just go in here,
and lliterally bring back items that you can easily find on the surface of the world.
Wiser: Well, I don't see a problem with that logic...
Boy: Why go into the firey pits of hell
just so we can build a tree farm,
when we can just do that anywhere we want to?
Wiser: Well, what do you want to do in this world, huh?
If you don't want to build an amazing fire tree farm, then I'd...
Wait! My beautiful trees!
Why did we build a tree farm in hell?
This is all your fault.
Boy: My fault?
Wiser: Yes, you were the one who wanted biodiversity,
a place teeming with life,
and you brought this upon yourself.
Boy: How can you blame this on me? You were the one who brought me here!
Wiser: You know what? I don't care.
You can go on with your boring stories about horses,
and princes, and knights,
and other boring things that have no purpose.
I will keep my world of blocks to myself,
and you will have no part of it.
Actually, this game is kinda weird isn't it?
Boy: I thought this was a magical world and not a video game.
Wiser: Didn't I tell you to go already?

BiblioFiles VLOG #5 | Mini-Morning Reading Vlog 🌤️ - Duration: 7:15.Good morning, friends. Welcome to my channel, BiblioNyan. My name is Neko Neha.
If this is your first time on my channel, I welcome you.
I talk about bookish content, otaku content, and sometimes I like to fangirl over my kitty-cats.
Today, I decided to go ahead and do another BiblioFiles VLOG.
I haven't done one in a really long time actually, that relates to me talking about bookish things or other things.
If you're interested on what the BiblioFiles VLOG series is,
I'll go ahead and put a link to the first video in a white boxy thingymajiggy on top of my head.
You guys can check it out, and it basically goes into it a little bit.
These are usually just videos of me doing random things.
Sometimes they're related to books and other times they're not related to books.
Today was a really beautiful morning and I decided that I wanted to read outside
for a little bit, just before the heats kicks up and things get all melty.
It's California, so everything is either going to be on fire or be melting here.
So, I decided to do that.
I have been having a lot of trouble lately. I find that I think I'm
falling into a little bit of a slump.
Which is not a good thing because there's a couple of readathons coming up that I really want to participate in.
So I'm hoping by getting outside and getting a change of atmosphere
will reinvigorate my need and my desire to start reading again.
I have a stack of five or six books that I'm working on right now.
A lot of you may recognise most of these books.
I've been talking about a couple of them in the past couple of Weekly Reads, or Weekend Reads videos I've done.
Because I feel like I've been diving into a slump, I've been reading very, very slow and
and trudging my way through these books.
If a lot of these look familiar, that's kind of why.
So, I'll share my currently reading stack with y'all, then I'm going to go ahead and get some reading done.
The first book I have is called Black Order written by James Rollins,
and this is essentially Sigma Force book #3.
I've really been enjoying the series so far. I do like this book, but I feel like the plot
is a lot more slow with its progression.
There's not a lot of treasure-hunty kind of elements that the first two books had.
But I do like it a lot. This particular instalment revolves around WWII and some Nazi technology types of things.
Next, I have Kieli Volume 1, which is a fantasy light novel
series written by Yukako Kabei.
I'm actually reading this for my Japanese Novel/Light Novel group on GoodReads.
I'm really like it a lot. I'm not that into it, I'm only about 30 pages into it.
The writing is really phenomenal. It's not like your traditional light novels and
and feels a lot more novel-y in nature, if that makes any kind of sense.
Next, I have The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle written by Haruki Murakami.
This is a magical realism, Japanese literature novel, and
Haruki Murakami is my favourite author.
If any of you have been following me for a while, you'll know that I tend to rave about him whenever I get a chance to.
I'm actually reading this as part of a group read with my cousin, buddy read-sorry.
So, it's a buddy read I'm doing with my cousin, and I'm only about 30-40 pages into this one.
I absolutely love the writing.
It's been way too fucking long since I've read a Murakami book.
Alright, I know a lot of you will definitely recognise this from a Weekend Reads I did like months ago.
I started Neil Gaiman's American Gods. I think I started it originally as part of a readathon.
I just never got around to finishing it.
When I started this book, I ended up hitting one of the worst reading slumps I have ever had in my life.
I ended up putting this book aside because I didn't want to risk DNFing it due to a reading slump,
because I knew if I did that there's no way in Hell I'd ever pick the book back up
because I would associate it with a reading slump.
I didn't want to do that.
I put it aside and picked it up when my reading slump passed, and
I picked it up, I wanna say about one to maybe two weeks ago.
I have been enjoying it very much.
I don't feel like DNFing it. There's so much going on in this books, it's actually a little overwhelming.
I definitely like it a lot. It's definitely a more paced kind of novel.
If you don't mind slow books, I think you guys may really like this a lot.
It's been really fun trying to decipher which references that I can pick out
and recognise, versus other references that I've never even heard of.
Last but not least is this novella called The Perilous Life of Jade Yeo, written by Zen Cho.
This is actually going to be what I'm starting with.
I read Zen Cho's novella called The Terracotta Bride, and I absolutely loved it.
Thank you, Katie so much for that recommendation.
So I decided to go ahead and pick this up.
I absolutely freaking love this book. Our heroine, Jade Yeo, or our main protagonist I should say,
is such a sassy, intellectual woman and her sass gives me so much life.
I mean, she throws shade around like crazy,
and she's so smart and she's witty. Her personality is so charming
that it makes it a lot more addicting to kind of just keep reading.
I like this a lot. I'm about 70-80% through this novella, so I'm almost done with it.
So, I decided that I'm going to ahead and finish it.
Apparently, one of my kitty cats decided to come with me on my reading journey.
That is Kheb's hair.
Yes, Kheb. Thank you, Kheb.
I managed to finish The Perilous Life of Jade Yeo.
I highly recommend it if anyone is looking for a short read. It's about 90 pages long.
It basically follows our main character who's name is Jade Yeo. I believe it's in the 20s
maybe the 40s or 50s, in London, England.
She's very well-read, our main character Jade Yeo, is very well-read.
She's sassy. The humour is very witty and sharp and clever.
I loved everything about it. It's 90 pages long.
It's very engrossing and entertaining.
I recommend it if you're interested in a short, quick read.
Now, I'm going to work on the Black Order. I've been reading so far for 30 minutes.
Which isn't too bad. The sun ended up coming out a lot quicker than I thought it was going to.
So I ended up moving into the shade as you can see.
Apparently there's a lot of birds in this corner. Hopefully you guys can hear me over all of the chirping and merry-making.
I've been reading for the past 45 minutes, I want to say, and I've gotten through about 70 pages of Black Order.
Which is the Sigma Force #3 book.
I like it. Like I said, the plot is unfolding a lot slower when compared to the first two books,
and I'm intrigued to see where it goes.
While I'm not enjoying the plot nearly as much as I enjoyed the plot for the first two books,
I still like it a lot. The writing is still very good.
It's still relatively fast-paced [action wise] and there's a lot of things going on in it.
I'm hoping to finish the book in the next couple of days as I only have about 200-250 pages left.
Since it is starting to get hot out here, I think I am going to go ahead and call it a day.
I'm going to go inside and relax and maybe play some video games.
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age just came out for the PS4,
and I'm dying to get my hands on it. [I bought it, just need to play it now. Woot]
Anyways, thank you guys for joining me on my reading-outside-summer-day VLOG thingymajiggy.
If you're interested in more VLOGS, please go ahead and check out my playlist for all of my BiblioFiles stuff, and
I also have a couple of VLOGs that I did for a couple of readathons.
I'm going to work my way through this giant pile of books that I have and try to get through all of them
before the 24in48 readathon starts on July 22nd.
Hopefully, I can manage to do that.
Until next time, happy reading and happy otakuing.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte confirms Alvaro Morata signing - Duration: 2:55.Chelsea boss Antonio Conte confirms Alvaro Morata signing
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte confirms Alvaro Morata signing CHELSEA boss Antonio Conte has confirmed the signing of Alvaro Morata. The Spain international joins from Real Madrid in a deal worth £70m.
Morata is expected to replace Diego Costa who was told by Conte he doesnt feature in his Chelsea plans for the upcoming season. The Italian manager is looking forward to working with his new signing.
He said: I think for sure this is a good signing for us, he is a young player but has a lot of experience, he went to Juventus and Real Madrid.
He has a lot of experience and I think this is a good sign for us.. Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has confirmed the signing of Alvaro Morata. Conte was also asked about missing out on Romelu Lukaku and signing Morata instead.
But the Chelsea boss refused to be drawn on losing out to Manchester United for the Belgian. He explained: In answer to the first it has little to do with players.
We have added a fantastic striker, even at a young age he has won a lot already and we are looking forward to welcoming him to the squad. Conte believes the transfer window is crazy but clubs are investing huge money in players for the future.
He explained: For sure this transfer market is a crazy market, but it is not only for this season but for the future seasons.
Now there is crazy money, if you want to buy a normal player you need to spend 40-50 million Euro. It is the same.
Lukaku cost a lot of money, the same with Lacazette. For a right back you spend 50-60m Euro. It is very important the choice. Morata for sure is our first choice.
He is a good player, the right prospect for Chelsea and hopes to show his value with us. Morata becomes Chelseas fourth summer signing after Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Willy Caballero.

Deny Yourself - A testimony: Pastor Raul Barcelos - Duration: 4:56.Reverence Presents
Deny Yourself a testimony
With Pastor Raul Barcelos
Deny yourself And its challenges
I can not see someone who denies himself Sitting at a bar drinking beer
Drinking beer, brandy, cachaça or smoking a cigarette.
So I had to deny many carnal pleasures
Unfortunately or fortunately
I had to give up some friends because of the love of Christ
Why some friends did not lead me to Christ
I had to give up some tours, for example.
That I did often and that in the end kept me away from Christ
So I had to give up many things
I gave up many friendships and stopped attending many places
I stopped going to the house of many people
Not that these people were not important
But at that moment I had to give up that
For that could make me go back to practicing things
Which I did not want to do any more. Things that would keep me away from Christ
So I had to pay a price
Because to deny yourself it is necessary to pay a price
The price of the friendships, the price of the places that you frequented
The price of friendships, as I said before.
So I had to give it all up
When I started giving up friendships and certain places
When I started giving up certain things
The living Christ within me was strengthening me
Because I can not deny myself
If I let the carnal wills scream louder
There is no way I can deny myself
and try to live with things that are going to drive me away from Christ
So I paid a certain price
I left friendships that did not build me
I left away from places that did not build me
The places I go to frequent were places that
Was someone talking about Christ
My friends at school were people who talked about Jesus
My friends were Christian people.
So I give up on certain people who did not want to live a life with Christ
Because I wanted to live with Christ
I wanted change
And when we need to change, we have to change the friendships and places
We have to change the environments, the shows can not be more the same
The theater of life is different. Your life is different now
You're a saint fighting sin.
You are not a sinner trying to be holy.
You are a saint who understands that sin, at that moment.
It happens to be an accident in your life.
So those places I went to
That if I entered into them I was liable to sin
So if I
If before I went to houses of brothels, Now I'm going to church
If my old friends just took me to the bar I now have friends who go with me to the church.
If the places I would have influenced me to sin
I started to go in places that built me
Then the act of denying ourselves must be an act
radical
You have to be radical
Not that your old friends are not important
They will never stop being your friends
For you are light and the light can not mix with the darkness.
From the moment you deny yourself, you have a Christian identity
A greater spiritual identity
You become an ambassador of Christ on earth
So you have to be light to these people
Reverence Band in the way of God
Deny yourself, take up your cross and follow the Author of life.

Did you get the joke? | We the Internet TV - Duration: 3:27.Thank you guys so much for watching and commenting on our videos!
Some of your responses are hilarious and on point.
You know who you are!
Then there's the rest of you.
Let's be honest, I'm worried guys.
Judging from some of your responses it's obvious that no one told you We The Internet is a comedy channel.
And I know that some of our jokes, they don't land all the time.
But they are jokes.
Or attempts at jokes.
For example, this comment was left on our anti gay wedding planner sketch.
"This guy is an idiot. No one should use him as a wedding planner."
Yeah man, no one can use him as a wedding planner because he isn't real.
Phil LaMont is not a wedding planner. He's a made up character played by an actor whose real name is Jack Hunter.
Yeah, Jack's great. You may recognize from other roles he's played in We The Internet videos like,
Sam Patriot's neighbor or a congressman who's addicted to lobbying
Or the...sorry, that's not Jack. That's a white walker.
Oh wait, no no, sorry sorry sorry. It's not an actual white walker.
That's an actor who's undergone makeup to look like a white walker from Game of Thrones.
We didn't interview a real white walker. We couldn't because they don't exist.
Just like Phil LaMont. Are you getting this yet?
Not you, I know you're getting it. But you. I'm talking about you.
The person who thinks Doug Allen is real. Are you getting it?
Yeah you remember this Doug Allen? See, Doug Allen is really just me.
But with glasses on.
These glasses. Check it out.
No no no no, I'm not Doug Allen right now. I didn't magically transform into Doug Allen.
Okay? I'm still Lou Perez. And no Lou Perez is not a character that Doug Allen plays.
Doug Allen can't play characters because he too doesn't exist.
His stand up comedy special, Doug Allen is edgy, doesn't exist either.
The trailer we made for it is all fiction. We thought it was obvious.
Aw, come on guys, the jokes we wrote for it were so bad. But you went ahead and commented.
Yeah man. That was the point. We were totally aware of that.
Trust me dude. Doug Allen has never made any such promise.
You're thinking of someone real. Oh and what about this comment.
WHAT?
Even as I speak, new comments are coming in from people who just don't get the joke.
I'm seriously worried guys. This level of incomprehension is not healthy.
What can we do to help you? A humor warning?
Or maybe everytime someone is about to tell a joke they put this hat on.
Or, I don't know, we could have a, uh, like a joking stick or something.
Whoever holds it, don't take them seriously!
Or how about at the edge of the screen a sarcasm snake can pop up and hiss whenever...
Not now sarcasm snake!
This is serious!
So, what can we do to make sure you're in on the joke?
Let us know in the comments.
And subscribe to our channel, We The Internet TV, and follow us on Twitter and Facebook for new videos every week.
Though be warned, they may contain jokes.

Bookathon 2017 TBR | Lets Read 20 Books - Duration: 14:25.And Seventeen *squeak*
*Sh sound*
If you hear whining, its my puppy
She wants me to throw a ball instead of doing things! *
Typewriter Typing*
Hello Strangeos, I'm Rachel Verna and I will doing the BookTubeathon this year
and this is my TBR for it.
To be honest my TBR is probably likely to change as I do the Booktubeathon
Er...the one book I'm guaranteed
I'm probably going to read is
this one!
Which is Countless by Karen Gregory
I've already started this book,
I'm like 90 pages in
I don't know if I will read anymore before
Because like I said I'm currently reading a lot of books
And I'm going to try to get rid a few of these
and maybe the Booktubathon is the time to do it
This book would actually count for like two challenges
if I did read it because
Its got a person on the cover
There they are
And it's kinda about someone who has a different life than from me
the main character in this book struggles with Anorexia
and she gets pregnant during her teen years
Cause this is a YA book
I'm not going to count it for any of challenges in this TBR
I'm going to have other books that'll count for them but
It's probably set me up for two if I did read this one
which I probably will because I did enjoy it what I was reading its just like
been busy and stuff and I've been like
I don't know
I've this real bad habit right now of starting to read books and then tempering off for some reason
I'm not reading as much as I'm normally am
like I'm so behind my like reading goal
by like twenty books
Hopefully I can help change this by this readathon
I would really like to accomplice reading seven book
But
I don't know like I would just like
I suppose reading
Like four books would really great or just ANY books
Now on to my actual proper TBR to fin...to tackle those challenges
First Challenge is Read a book with a person on the cover.
And I'm choosing to read The Royal Wedding by Meg Cabot
This is the eleventh book in the Princess Diaries series
and I started reading it and it was just okay
but I'd like to finish it just to see how bonkers it is
Like I haven't heard any good things and when I was reading it, I was just like
Really we shouldn't be here
like this is a weird sequel years way too late
that nobody asked for but
I'm going to read it
and mainly because I have a Netgalley on it
and I always feel guilty about requesting books and then not reading them
I'm going to try to give this book another go
But if I don't feel like, that book, I have tons of back ups
Such as these abandoned bookathons books
of TBRs of Past
The Second challenge is to Read a hyped book.
I really don't know what to read because like I haven't been watching BookTube books recently
and a lot of the times BookTube books I just buy them if I like them I don't really play attention to the hype
so I don't know what to pick really
so I've just looked at my books I already own like seeing
what's been hyped and I've picked
Hallow City by Ramsom Rigg
This is the second book in the Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children series
I've read the first one. I thought it was okay.
I didn't really get the hype
But this one was still hyped. A lot of people still liked this
But I'm not completely set on it
I'm also thinking I might read
A Secret History by Donna Tartt
This is one I'm more interested in
to see how good it or not
The only thing about this book is
it's kinda big and
I've read, I've listened to another book by Donna Tartt
and that took me a while to get through because just how...
I don't know like
Thick
it was. It was thick with a lot of different things
and the text in this is a lot small
and its like, its a thickish book
Like
six hundred and something pages
But I would like
to read this book. And also it's a library book
so I would like to read it and return it
But I think if I do read this I'll leave this as my last book
But I would like, I would really like to get to this book eventually
The third challenges is to read a book in a day.
and I have chosen Girlhood by Cat Clarke
and this is basically just a normal sized YA book
The main reason I've picked this is that I'm a big fan of Cat Clarke
and I feel kinda guilty that I haven't read this and there's another book of hers that I haven't read yet
Because I've been out of the loop of reading
this year, this past year or so
so I would really like to read this
and with Cat Clarke books I always read them in like a day.
Like I always end up reading them in 24 hours
Like Cat Clarke's writing is so Brilliant
She is my favourite writer
I love her books, like I could not recommend her more
like she writes really diverse books
The fourth Challenge is to read a book
Er, to read a book about a character that's completely different from you.
And I found this really hard
because like
How do I know if a character is completely different from me before I read it
and maybe I'm just taking the word completely different from you, too close to heart
Because also it's really dumb because I've never read a book that has a Scottish
girl in it.
A Scottish
Even just generally disabled, I never read
em,
But I've never read dyslexic, Autistic Scottish girl in book form
who
Not that fuss about romances
So it should be really easy
and it is.
sort of. I don't know.
I've got a lot of options for this and I really don't know what I'm going to read
I'm probably just gonna read whatever I feel like randomly
Obviously, like I said Countless could probably count for this
But I also have like a full list of four other books that I could read
