Garmin GPS 73 quick review with Goggle Maps Integration - Duration: 6:10.

Welcome to this review of Garmin GPS 73

A small portable GPS I bought as I miss any instrument on board of "Planadas"

From the main menu you can access the Instruments mask.

It's a customizable screen

where I've selected to display: Speed, Heading and Trip Odometer

I also purchased the optional mount kit

You can screw the mounting wheel to your boat permanently

and then attach the removable part

I also bought a Mini USB cable

plugged to the solar panel controller on one side

and the other side to the Mini USB port on the device

you can now fix the GPS to the mounting kit by the clip on the right side

and it's ready to be used

we can now sail some miles

and then check what data are available on the GPS

tracks are then visible in the Maps menu

tracks can be transferred to a PC to be visualized on a map

Garmin suggests to use an own application to display maps

I do prefer to use Google Maps because it's free and more detailed than the Garmin's free version

let's go to Google maps to upload our tracks

go to the menu on the upper left side and choose My Places

after checking if you are authenticated with your google accout

than go to the Maps menu item

click on "create new map" at the bottom of the screen

the new map gets created in few seconds

now it is possible to insert a new level

and import data from a file stored on the device

click on the button in the middle of the screen

on windows explorer - havig connected the device cable

you see the Garmin device entry

and a folder inside named Garmin

then a GPX folder with some file

and a folder named Current

inside the folder a file current.gpx

containing all waypoits

here we see all of them already uploaded

in red

followed by the initial and ending points of each track

suddenly followed by ...

... the tracks uploaded on Google maps

now on the search field

we look for the zone of the map

where we were sailing

in our case the Maggiore Lake

and check

what we find

we see

the red dots corresponding to the waypoints

stored in our

GPS

if we zoom we also see

the lines corresponding to the tracks of our boat

we can also colour our tracks

in different ways by day

to differenciate them

now you can see two different colours for two different days

it's also possible to edit the title and the descritpion of the map

and save it by clicking on the Save button

if we select and click on a track

we can notice that

in Google maps some data

have already been automatically uploaded

like the sailing distance, the average speed

we can also add further information

as by example, the highest speed we read

on the GPS

or the names of our sailing companions

well our review

ends here right after clicking

on Save button

and if you enjoied

please give me a thumbs up

here below

thank you and "arrivederci"

Os Caras & Carol: Cabelo (track by track) - Duration: 2:36.

"Cabelo" (Hair) was interesting, and it's a great example of our creative process,

we did that song on my first rehearsal

it was on João's first rehearsal, but here's what happened;

you (João) came up with the harmonies right?

yeah, he did.

I wrote the first half of the song.

and that was it. there was no second half. I was sitting with my notebook in my hands like "I just don't know".

"I'm going to record this voice memo of what I imagine the melody is and... that's what I've got."

and then... when João came to the rehearsal I said "I have something to show you guys"

and I sang the first half of the song

then the bass started playing, and the guitar, and I went:

"stop, hand me my notebook."

I picked up the notebook.

and I wrote the second half of the song. I said "here's the finished lyrics. that's it."

I had a creative block, I needed to have them with me,

to be able to exchange ideas to find what was missing there.

and "Cabelo" is about something that is extremely personal for me,

that is the things I went through while I was in high school.

it was a hard thing to put on paper.

so when they sat with me and like, there's a guitar playing, I could hear the lyrics coming to me

and they came, the lyrics came to me.

so it is very personal but I needed their help

to unlock the process would lead me to the end of the song.

I've Committed to Chastity...Now What? - Duration: 3:03.

I want to commit to chastity...now what?

Choosing to say "yes" to chastity is indeed half the battle.

However, how can we patiently choose to live out this radical virtue if we don't know how?

When it came to faithfully living out chastity in college for myself, the struggle was so real.

I remember saying that "yes" and then swiftly getting a good ol' kick in the rear

by the over-sexualized culture that we live in.

Chastity is a lifestyle that can seem overwhelming, lonely, and even intimidating.

If we're going to achieve chastity, we have to exercise and build patterns in our lives

that replace the patterns of the past.

We must forego certain things that we find desirable and fix our eyes on the goal for the higher good.

We need spiritual disciplines, attending daily Mass, the Sacrament of Confession,

holy hour, reading Scripture, and prayer.

Aside from our spiritual disciplines, I want to provide a few practicals that can aid in

your pursuit for this life-giving virtue.

Number one, be gentle with yourself.

As humans, falling is part of our nature.

When we make a mistake it can be easy to go on a downward spiral of beating ourselves up.

Take a deep breath.

It's OKAY.

Chastity is a lifestyle, not a just a temporary fix.

Yes, there will be times where "the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak."

One of my all-time favorite quotes comes from St. Faustina:

"Your sin is a pebble in the ocean of God's mercy."

There is no sin too great for the mercy of Christ.

Number two, Find community.

We can't do this alone!

We have to surround ourselves with those who not only keep us accountable but who are also

willing to walk beside us.

As humans, we were made for community, we were made to be together, and we were made

for greatness...TOGETHER!

Number three, read. Read. Read.

You can never educate yourself enough!

This was SUCH a game changer for me.

By taking the time to educate myself,

I not only strengthened my understanding theologically, but also practically.

If you're looking for books to read, read about the lives of the saints.

Check out theology of the body.

Pick up the Bible!

Read Scripture!

There are so many accounts of the lives of people who were ordinary

who wanted to strive for the extraordinary virtue of chastity.

Number four, know you are NOT alone.

Know there are people all around the world who believe in you, and also believe in the

goodness of the human person.

There are young people all around the globe striving to be revolutionaries.

Social media can be a platform used to connect us all across the globe and even in our local communities.

Find local events in your area, join a bible study, or even start your own.

Be a revolutionary.

Be radical.

Swim against the tide.

And know that you are capable of true love.

As one of my dear friends (Saint Pope John Paul II) once said,

"Chastity is a difficult, long-term matter; one must wait patiently for it to bear fruit…

But at the same time, chastity is the sure way to happiness."

HFX Beverage Expo - My Halifax - Things To Do In Halifax, Nova Scotia - Duration: 7:32.

Good morning guys.

It's Adam Cooper here from My Halifax.

For this weeks My Halifax, we've come to an event which I think is super cool.

Especially since it's so early in the morning.

We're coming to the HFX Beverage Expo which is basically an event which is a celebration

of non-alcoholic beverages so coffees, teas, kombucha, all stuff that you drink that are

healthy, tasty, and I don't know about you but it's early in the morning so I need some

coffee!

I'll see you in there.

So we've just come into the event room and it's smells delicious in here.

You can really smell the tea and coffee and this is a really good layout.

There's a lot of cool tea houses that I really want to go and check out, so let's go!

This smells delicious!

So we just got back from checking out the World Tea House.

We always make a bit of a bee line for them because they're one of our favourite tea houses.

We made a video for them in the past and also when it is Christmas and we go to the Parade

of Lights downtown, that's where we go and get our hot chocolates from.

It's kind of a little bit sentimental and feels like Christmas whenever I'm there.

One thing I love about them is they always have the tea leaves out in little glass cups

which you can smell and get a feel for what the tea is going to taste like.

It's almost like going to a wine tasting but for tea.

Which I think is really cool.

Gina got the raisin...no not raisin...the raspberry and pomegranate tea.

I keep calling it raisin but it's not.

It's raspberry.

I'm not sure if raisin and pomegranate would work....I'm not that much of a tea expert

but if you've tried raisin tea, let me know I guess.

This is a really cool event because it's actually pretty easy to get into.

It's like $5 or $7 to get in which is really affordable.

It's right in the Dal Student Union.

I just like events where it's local and you can get a group of people to come in and especially

when it's all local businesses cause right now you could come here try some wicked tea

and then find a new tea house which could become your local tea house.

It's just a great way to support local and that's what My Halifax is all about it's about

supporting local.

So we're just taking a little bit of a break from the rest of the expo while I talk about

the stuff we've bought.

This is Tea North.

We have four flavours here and they were sampling two.

One was like a green tea flavour and one was kind of like a fruit loops flavour which is

name is escaping me right now.

I will zoom in and show you the names of each of the flavours.

This is carbonated iced tea.

It's all brewed here locally you can get them in Pete's and Sobeys.

These guys are so cool they gave us lots of information and so far with each of the vendors

we're speaking to, it's really cool and impressive to see how much they know about their products

and it's just like next level knowledge which you don't get if you go into big box tea store

where you just walk in and you order.

These guys are talking about palettes and flavours and elevating their products so well

and it's really cool to see that level of skill and sophistication when it's such a

cool local company.

The two that we tasted were delicious and I can't wait to try the other two.

So the next place we went and hit up was Sense and SensibiliTea which I think is an amazing

name for one.

They had a range of different teas and they all seemed to be kind of English and Old English

based teas.

The one we bought was called Great Fire of London and this tea actually brought back

some memories of my childhood because there's an old 1900 style museum in England in Wolverhampton

called The Black Country Museum and it has stuff that was made in the late 1800's early

1900's.

This tea tastes like the tea they served there except this actually tastes a little better.

It's got this sense of ash in it which is I guess where the burning part from the Fire

of London comes in.

It was delicious.

The guys at Sense and SensibiliTea they know so much about tea and they blend all their

flavours and it's all made and it's just another great way to go and support local.

I highly recommend you go and check those guys out.

Then we went to Cortado and they do coffee brews. We got such good information from there

and it just totally blew my mind on coffee.

If you're a really big coffee drinker, I highly recommend you go and check them out.

They're located in Bedford.

They have this whole way of I think he referred it as third wave coffee and you know how sometimes

you'll drink wine and you'll get different notes through and different berries in the

different blends and same with craft beer.

That's what they're starting to do with coffee.

He had a coffee called Burundi and it was probably the best cup of coffee I've ever

had.

I drink my coffee black anyway, Gina doesn't, she usually likes milk and sugar in hers and

even she drank it and said it's such a good coffee and there's different layers and flavours

that she could drink it black.

They have a really cool set up like they do seminars on how to make coffee and how to

brew coffee and the espresso bars and it's just really cool to see and to have coffee

done in such a way because for me coffee has always been cup of joe here you go.

It's literally blowing my mind on how such a high level you can get in terms of coffee

and you should definitely check those guys out.

So the final thing we bought was some kombucha which I've never had before.

It was delicious and it's really really healthy.

The lady selling it was telling us that a lot of times people make it really vinegary

and really strong cause they want it to be healthy but their approach with their brand

is to make it palatable for everybody and you still get the same health benefits.

It's really cool the different varieties of products you've seen here form like green

teas to regular teas to really elevated coffee to kombucha it's been such a good event for

people who want to experiment and meet some local businesses and support local.

This has been such a good event.

So that's the end of this week's My Halifax.

Once again we came to the HFX Beverage Expo which was such a good event.

It was super local, it was downtown at the Dal Student Union and there were such good

products back there and everyone was super friendly and it was a lot of fun.

Just getting to try so many different products and have people be so passionate is something

that is really the core behind this and why we do My Halifax is we can show you guys all

the amazing stuff you can do in Halifax regularly all the time and not have to leave the city

at all because this place is literally amazing.

So thank you for watching.

below or if you yourself would like to be featured please just reach out to us.

It's totally free, we just like showing the best of Halifax and we know there's some of

you guys out there that would definitely be the best of Halifax.

So once again thank you for watching.

8 Ways To Stop Procrastinating - Efficient Tips On How To Be Productive - Duration: 5:28.

Hey guys, this is Anthony from GoMad with another video for you with some practical

tips on beating procrastination in order to become more productive, get more done, and

- ultimately - reach our next goal much sooner.

The tips I'm about to share with you today will improve many aspects of your life, soit's

worth sharing it with friends who want tomake a change.

Subscribe for more videos like that, hit the bell icon tostay tuned as I've got a lot

more useful content coming your way and want you tobe the first one to know.

Once you check out my tips onhow to stop procrastinating, you can leave a comment and share whichone

you'd like to follow orif there's something else you need help with.

I'll appreciate that a lot.

Now, let's get to the action part.

The first step to removing procrastination from your life once and for all isto define

the real causes.

Whenever you put off working on a project or getting anything done, there's usually

a motive for that.

It might not be obvious so you need to dig deeper.

Some common reasons why weprocrastinate include: lacking the motivation to start and complete

the task; not being sure whether we're working on the right thing; fearing failure; not being

organized and not knowing where to start; low energy levels; lack of focus; and more.

The single best thing you can do today to live a life free from procrastination in the

near future isto get to the main cause of that.

Once you know it, you'llbe able to make a plan on how to stop it and become productive

instead.

So, for example, if you realize you fear failure, then you'll need to make a mindset shift.

Tell yourself that failure is a stepping stone to success and if you keep putting in the

work, you'll eventually succeed.

Ifit's the lack of focus or energy that's causing procrastination, then you need to

rethink how you're spending your days.

Maybe you should wake up earlier, ditch the junk food, have a workout every day, removethe

distractions around you, have a better working environment, or else.

All these will help you concentrate easily when you get to work and you'll have the

energy to not just start, but finish what you started.

The next thing you should doto stop being a procrastinator isto break the bad habit

of overthinking.

See, procrastination happens when we'reabout to start something but then allow our mind

to come up with excuses asto why we can leave it for later.

Then, we think of plenty ofother things todo right now and leave the important task for

later.

But later means you'll never get to it, will keep putting it off, or will just get

itdone quickly as there will be many other little tasks waiting tobecompleted.

Don't get into the habit of doing that.

Instead, have control over your mind and stop overthinking.

That can happen by noticing when you're about to start making excuses.

Then, gather your willpower and say 'no'to the inner voices telling you why it's okay

toprocrastinate.

And instead get up and do the work.

You'll feel great after that.

My next best tip on removing procrastination isto have routines.

These are powerful as simple practices done daily can help us get in the right mood and

mental state todo focused work, even ifwe don't feel like it.

It could be waking up early and having a morning routine, after which you'd get to your most

important things for the day and will complete them in one go.

It will take time to develop a routine and stick toitnomatter what.

But it's worth the time and effort as once it becomes a repetitive behavior, procrastination

will no longer have control over you.

The next step on your journey should beto break big projects into smaller ones.

Sounds simple but we rarely do it.

If you give this technique a chance, though, you'll find out that big goals or tasks

don't scare or overwhelm you anymore.

Once you know the first steps, you don't need to think about the next ones.

You can just focus on the first one on the list and take it.

That means you'll get a quick win byaccomplishing it and will feel good about yourself.

And this is a great way to build momentum and repeat the action right after it.

And here's another great rule to motivate you to get more done instead of procrastinating

- start super small.

What I mean by that is, whenever you're facing a big project or a challenging task,

don't leave it for later but do one thing related toit that takes less than 5 minutes.

That could be making a call, replying toan email, writing down what you're going to

do, doing a quick research, taking a decision, etc.

This will get you started and that's all you need to keep going until you actually

do the work.

Finally, write everything down.

The written word is a pretty powerful thing.

The moment you set a goal, you should write it down, give it a deadline and break it down

into smaller steps.

The same goes for any activity you have todo today or even little task that's on your

list.

Decide when you're going to work on it and how you'll start, and write that down too.

This makes it easier to commit and begin.

Now you're ready to fight procrastination the next time you face it.

Thanks a lot for watching today's video and I hope you're going to take action on

one of the things I mentioned in it.
