Youtube daily report w Jul 2 2017

This is an update in my continuing coverage of KIC 8462852 or Boyajian's Star for July

1st, 2017.

For the extensive backstory on this star, see my other videos on this channel, or the

dedicated KIC 8462852 playlist specifically.

The star continues to act up, and while a preliminary paper is due out any time from

Dr. Boyajian and her team, a few interesting bits and pieces have been floating around

that are worth considering.

More, Dr. Boyajian has been posting frequent flux updates for the star, including one for

last night which shows ongoing minor dimming.

The star has been intermittently active since late May.

Most prominently was the "Elsie" dip, which Boyajian and her team collected significant

data on.

The one take away from that that's out there right now is that color data was taken of

the "Elsie" dip and posted by Boyajian on the official site of the star in the blog

section, link in the description below.

That data shows that the star dipped deeper in shorter wavelengths of light than in longer

ones.

This helps narrow things down significantly as to the nature of the material causing the

star to dim in the short term.

It would be consistent with dust as an origin and would generally, but not necessarily,

put checks in the boxes for hypotheses that the phenomenon is of natural origin and involves

dust in an elliptical orbit of the star.

That elliptical orbit would help explain the general lack of infrared in past observations,

as the dust moves away from the star it cools down.

As it moves closer, it would warm up leading to varying InfraRed emissions.

The color data might also seem to push away from the already remote possibility that KIC

8462852's behavior might be due to the activities of an alien civilization, but it actually

doesn't really change that, at least yet from what is out in public.

Now, I must caveat before I speculate in that I personally think the chances of this being

due to alien activity is marginally possible, but very remote.

Ever since Schaeffer discovered the long-term dimming trend, and the subsequent determination

that the trend seems to be speeding up, the alien megastructure hypothesis has been in

a modified state from where it was originally.

Originally it was just structures blocking the light from the star.

But with the long-term trend, it became structures under active construction.

Then it became structures being constructed so rapidly, and increasingly so, that it defies

any method of construction I can imagine, even nanotechnology.

This illustrates the big problem with alien origin hypotheses for this star or any other;

they can be retroactively form fit to just about any observation so long as your end

is to prove the existence of intelligent alien life.

I know some commenters take my viewpoints as painfully cautious, and even that I don't

want to find alien life.

This is not the case, though I do admit that I don't want to find hostile aliens bent

on converting earth into the alien equivalent of cheeseburgers.

It's merely that when discussing alien detections, I want truth, unequivocally.

When, and I stress when as I think it will happen sooner rather than later, we do discover

an alien civilization it needs to be flat out unambiguous.

We need to be able to say this is it, and that's that.

KIC 8462852 on the other hand is too ambiguous for anything close to that, and honestly it

looks like a dust cloud.

But, I am open minded, who knows what's out there.

And, in hopes of not being too much of a downer, I would point the viewers of the channel to

my video on Przybylski's Star, link below.

I think that star has a significantly higher likelihood of being a detection of alien activity

than KIC 8462852 due to the apparent presence of transuranic elements in the star's upper

atmosphere.

This very thing was advanced decades ago by Sagan and Shklovski as one way you might announce

your existence to the universe, you start dumping elements that as far as we know do

not appear in nature into your star.

This star apparently has just such elements in it, such as plutonium, and if proven so

would pose some serious challenges to nuclear physics and misty concepts such as the activities

of the island of stability in nature.

Think either rethink the upper reaches of the periodic table and what heavy elements

can exist in nature, or take a serious look at possible alien activity because you've

got nothing else left if you can't figure out a natural way to generate transuranic

elements outside of a laboratory.

I would also note that sometimes we might use the word unlikely too much regarding the

detection of an alien civilization.

There will come a time when it happens, whether sooner or later, and the words that it will

probably happen within the next 20 years are often muttered by prominent scientists.

And when we talk about likelihoods there are two ways to think about it.

It's valid to say that the chances of catching the existence of a civilization being active

and building things in geologic time scales is very low.

Fair enough, but why then why do we bother with radio SETI?

What are the chances of catching the existence of an alien transmitter in geologic time?

And there is of course Enrico Fermi, whose paradox states that if alien life exists,

we should see them everywhere.

That thinking would suggest that it should not be surprising to spot the occasional alien

civilization out there.

I would simply ask do we really know what the chances of spotting one are?

I'm skeptical that we do know, or can even guess with any authority.

I simply say it because I suspect intelligent life in the universe is exceedingly rare,

and I do have a basis for that, but that also, admittedly, is a bias.

If it turns out that it's not rare, then that equation changes and I'm all wet.

But back to KIC 8462852.

Dust clouds don't suffer from the problems of scale that technology and construction

would, natural dust can be produced or accumulated on these rapid time scales, through cascading

collisions and other ways, and can block the enormous amounts of light as seen at this

star.

Mega structures have a much harder time there.

But, there is a possibility and onto the speculation we go, dust clouds do not necessarily have

to be of natural origin in a star system and if they aren't, then unnatural ones would

have certain signatures that natural ones would not.

That brings us to a 2011 paper by Duncan Forgan and Martin Elvis, link in the description

below.

This paper details what you would look for as far as dust and waste debris if a civilization

were actively mining asteroids in a star system.

The paper goes on to suggest that this might be an inexpensive form of SETI, whenever someone

happens to be studying an old star system with a debris disk, it would be prudent to

check for markers of alien activity just in case.

I'm not sure how applicable that is to KIC 8462852, I simply don't know, in fact if

anyone has any ideas drop them in the comments below.

But the paper is an interesting take on a novel form of SETI and I toss it out there

for those interested.

I would also briefly mention in passing that there are murmurs of patterns in the Kepler

and other data for KIC 8462852.

I've mentioned these in earlier updates, but would caution that patterns are not always

really there even when they seem to be.

So for that aspect of the story much more study is needed, though it's very much worth

doing.

If the existence of any kind of pattern is established, this story will heat up in a

hurry.

So there you have it.

The star continues to dip, and the story continues to evolve.

I think the next milestone, barring a massive dip, is when Dr. Boyajian and her team release

their preliminary paper, which I would imagine will be a bit since the star continues to

act up.

And, of course, I will be back with another update as soon as something happens.

I've included other relevant links in the description below for those wishing to dig

deep, including the reddit thread on the subject which is full of knowledgeable people and

perspectives on the story and always a good read and a fine way of keeping up on the day

to day events surrounding this star.

Today's World: United States Beats Ghana in a Friendly, as World Cup Auditions Begin - Duration: 7:46.

United States Beats Ghana in a Friendly, as World Cup Auditions Begin

United States Beats Ghana in a Friendly, as World Cup Auditions Begin. — More than a month ago, U.S. Soccer quietly confirmed its hotel and training base for next summer's World Cup in Russia.

The federation has also sent officials to investigate bus companies, travel routes and restaurants, and a separate group scouted possible day trips for friends and family who will follow the team to Russia.

Soccer has not done yet, team officials and Coach Bruce Arena say regularly with knock-on-wood superstition, is claim a place in the tournament.

"We're not in a situation where we are projecting for the opening game of the 2018 World Cup yet," Arena said again Friday.

"We still have to qualify." Still, the Americans have played in every World Cup since 1990, and (appropriate qualifications aside) they fully expect to do so again.

For now, the critical work of preparing for the tournament — identifying players, teaching them the way Arena wants to play, and then forging a unit out of an ever-rotating pool of talent — continues.

The first look came Saturday during a 2-1 victory in a friendly against Ghana; next will be as many as six games this month in the Concacaf Gold Cup. For these games, Arena has given many of his top-choice players a rest.

In their place on the 23-man roster are some other veterans and a host of new faces and second-tier players, all hoping to catch the coaching staff's eye a year before the World Cup.

A couple did that on Saturday: Forward Dom Dwyer slammed in a deflection to open the scoring 19 minutes into his debut with the national team, and Kellyn Acosta doubled the lead with a scorching free kick hit low around a wall in the 52nd minute.

But they and the other players in camp this month also know a hard truth: Whatever they do in the next month, most of them will watch the World Cup from home.

"Players in their situation don't have a lot of opportunities, so this is probably their best opportunity to show something," Arena said.

"Clearly, they understand the fact that this competition, not only tomorrow but the Gold Cup, is going to be important for them." While Arena is familiar with many of the players from his coaching days in Major League Soccer, 10 have never been on a team of his before.

More than a dozen players on the roster have made 10 or fewer appearances with the national team, but each sees this month's opportunity through his own lens.

Goalkeeper Brad Guzan, Tim Howard's longtime backup, has his sights on a starting role. Defender Jorge Villafaña, whose first call-up came in January, and Acosta, a 21-year-old Texan, have quickly earned Arena's trust and will want to keep it.

The Chicago Fire's Dax McCarty, 30, is probably facing his last chance to convert the respect he has gained in Major League Soccer into a national team career.

"If you'd have asked me at this time last year, I would have said, 'Yeah, my national team career is dead,'" McCarty said.

"But now I've been in every camp under Bruce, and I've gotten great feedback from him and the coaching staff. I haven't played too many games, obviously, because the defensive midfield position is one that's got some pretty good players in it.

But for me, it's just another opportunity to prove that I deserve to be part of the team." The new faces might be even more intriguing.

Dwyer, a British-born striker, and midfielder Kenny Saief, a 23-year-old who has played for Israel's youth team, both changed their citizenship status this year to join the United States team.

Kelyn Rowe, who had a strong game in midfield Saturday in his national team debut, acknowledged that Russia remained a long way off. But, he said, "you've got to go in every day thinking you're going to make it.

You've just got to be patient, and somebody's going to notice." U.S.

Soccer likes to point out that solid performances in the Gold Cup have catapulted players on the fringes of the national team into more prominent roles in the World Cups that followed.

Clint Dempsey, in 2005, and Omar Gonzalez, in 2013, are two current regulars who helped themselves immensely in year-out camps like this one. So did defender Matt Besler.

He started four games in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil — less than 18 months after his first appearance for the national team.

Now 30, he hopes to use this summer's camp to show Arena that he deserves to stay in the mix for 2018. "We're only about a year out from Russia," Besler said.

"That's not very long. We want to start preparing and setting the tone." Arena was coy Friday about how many spots are in play for Russia.

"In my opinion," he said, "there are a lot." After the victory over Ghana, which avoided a shutout with a curling free kick by Asamoah Gyan in the 60th minute, the Americans turned their focus to first-round Gold Cup games against Panama (Saturday in Nashville), Martinique (July 12 in Tampa, Fla.) and Nicaragua (July 15 in Cleveland).

If Arena emerges from the tournament with some promising new faces, that will be fine. But it is not, he said, the goal.

"The objective here is really pretty short-term," he said. "I don't think anybody's going to be really happy if we don't qualify for the World Cup and I discover players for the future.".

Team New Zealand Aren't The Only Ones Flying Home From Bermuda In First Class. - Duration: 3:42.

Team New Zealand Aren't The Only Ones Flying Home From Bermuda In First Class.

No expense has been spared to get the Americas Cup trophy home. The Auld Mug was strapped into two first class seats, safely ensconced in its Louis Vuitton suitcase.

The cup is travelling from Bermuda to New York, then on to Dubai, home of main sponsor Emirates, before arriving in New Zealand on Wednesday.        .

The silverware, that stands 1. 1m tall and weighs more than 14kg, travels in a purpose-built Louis Vuitton trunk, in business or first class flanked by two security guards according to Yachting World.

The cup will be greeted by tens of thousands of proud Kiwis lining Aucklands Viaduct Harbour on Thursday to welcome our Americas Cup heroes home - with the winning crew set to join their adoring supporters to celebrate long into the night.

Ticker tape, banners, plenty of Team New Zealand flags and patriotic cheering will welcome Peter Burling and his men home for the parade.

The parade will start at 12.30pm on the corner of Wakefield St and Queen St and run down to Princes Wharf. The team will then do a sail past ending at the Queens Wharf.

Yachting World said security personnel have travelled with the Cup ever since 1997, when Maori activist Benjamin Nathan walked into the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron and took to the sailing trophy with a sledgehammer.

Hayden Porter, general manager of Aucklands Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, where the Cup will be displayed in all its glory, said they would take the role of housing the oldest trophy in international sport very seriously.

It goes into a specially built trophy cabinet, which is very secure. Its a fully alarmed, censored, bullet proof, bomb proof, you name it, cabinet, said Porter.

He said the extreme security measures were to avoid any issues or damage such as that sustained by the Cup in 1997.

Its an amazing privilege. Youve got the oldest sporting trophy in the world, in New Zealand and in our cabinet. Its the Everest of sailing, said Porter.

Porter said when Team New Zealand brought the Cup home from San Diego in 1995, it had its own seat on the plane, complete with a special seatbelt to fit around the carry trunk.

Team New Zealand also collected the Louis Vuitton Americas Cup Challenger Playoffs trophy, which was presented for the first time this year.

The 70cm high, 10kg sterling silver trophy depicts a clash of passing sails. It also echoes Louis Vuittons famous V mark, drafted in the 1930s to encapsulate the brands values of Volez, Voguez, Voyagez - fly, sail, travel.

Although the Yacht Squadron has not received the full official polishing instructions for the Auld Cup yet, they have been given some tips on how to keep the Louis Vuitton trophy - awarded to the winners of the Americas Cup challenger series - sparkling clean.

We have been informed, for the Louis Vuitton Cup, that were not allowed to use any fluids on it and there is a special cloth that is provided for the polishing, Porter said.

Discussions are currently underway to arrange public viewings of the trophies, after Thursdays parade in Auckland.

JERRY: Hello, everyone. Thank you for joining me today.

I appreciate you watching our broadcast. I have a special

guest with me on this program, and his name is Justin Bridges.

He's the pastor of Heritage of Faith Christian Center. Justin

has been with this ministry for many, many years. Justin,

welcome to the broadcast. JUSTIN: It's so good to be here,

Dr. Savelle, and I'm so grateful for you and Miss Carolyn in

giving me this great opportunity to be on here with you. After

all, you're my father in the faith. You deposited so many

great things in my life. Like I said, it's truly an honor, so

thank you for letting me be a part of this. JERRY: I'm glad

you're here. This is the first time you've actually done

television with me. You've done some other things with me that

have been live and so forth, but first time to do the television

broadcast. I want to talk to you about your testimony a little

bit before we get into today's lesson. What I want you to tell

the audience is, because I know your testimony will be a great

strength or a great source of strength and hope for many that

have possibly been through what you went through before you came

to the Lord. Let's start off with your testimony. JUSTIN:

Amen. Dr. Savelle, it's hard to describe because it's something

that happened to me that no one else could take away from me, no

one else could deny that it happened because I was there and

God did something supernatural in my life. It all started with

me with an experience with God. It was in 1993 and I was in my

sister's living room. At that time, I was working at a liquor

store. My life was going- JERRY: A liquor store? JUSTIN: Yeah. I

was working at a liquor store. Definitely wasn't in ministry at

the time. At that time, I was also experiencing some physical

battles. I had a breathing problem where the doctor said as

this progressed, I possibly might be on oxygen every day for

the rest of my life. At that time, I just didn't know. I

tried to go in the military. I couldn't go in the military

because of my health and so forth. As I continued to walk

through this battle I was going through and really running from

God, really running from God because I knew there was a call

of God of my life, but I didn't know. Really, I didn't know God

was real. I didn't know He was real. I didn't know that He

really wanted to engage my life. I remember on a Sunday evening

in 1993 how I had a high fever. I couldn't breathe, just gasping

for air, and I remember crying out to God. I said, "God, if

you're real, I need you. God, if you're real, I've been to ...

I've been going to church. If you're real like they say you're

real and you really desire to change my life, I need you." All

of a sudden, I heard this voice say, "Tell me you love me." I

sat there for a minute and was like, "What?" I started saying,

"I love you. I love you. I love you." Then, all of a sudden, I

kind of just pushed it to the side and I was like,

"Man, now I'm talking to myself. This is ... This

is crazy." I laid there longer. All of a sudden,

I'm just desperate. I was like, "I need something. I

need something. Be-" All of a sudden, I cried out again. "And

God, if you're real, I need you." I remember the same thing

happened again. I heard a voice that said, "Turn away from the

television and tell me you love me and don't stop." I started

saying, "I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love

you." Then I went to, "I love you, Lord. I love you, Lord. I

love you, Lord." I don't know how long I did it, Dr. Savelle,

but all of a sudden, something came over me from the top of my

head to the soles of my feet, and I was totally healed. I was

totally healed. JERRY: Praise God. JUSTIN: I went back. I

didn't even tell my mom anything because, of course, my mom had

been praying for years and she finally was like- JERRY: Your

mom and dad had been partners with our ministry, aren't they?

JUSTIN: Yeah, yeah. She got to a place where the Lord said, "I

want you to stop praying for him and I just want ... I just want

you to rejoice every time you think about him." It was six

months later I had that experience. I'm telling you,

it's something that just totally revolutionized my life. No one

can take it from me. God healed me. JERRY: Made you whole.

JUSTIN: Made me whole, and I was working at a liquor store. All I

did was cry out to Him and He showed up in my life. From

there, I got into a good church. I got into the Word, and I saw

what God's plan was for my life. Right after that, I had the

understanding that, you know what, God's done great things

for me. I've seen great things in His Word, now I need to

release it and engage myself to influence someone else's life.

That's really been my journey in a nutshell is all about this

pursuit that happened with that experience that God wanted to

make me whole. JERRY: We first met in 1998, correct? JUSTIN:

Yeah. November of 1998. JERRY: I was up in Maryland where you

were from, and I was to perform the wedding of a friend of mine

and a young lady that you grew up with I believe. That's when

we met. You were actually my driver. You picked me up at the

airport and drove me to the church. Then I think you heard

about our Bible school that was starting up and you enrolled in

that. You came in 1999. JUSTIN: It was less than a year later I

was in Texas and had no idea. That was the first time I had

met you and I'd heard you preaching on VHS tapes and

things like that, but had never heard you minister in person. I

came and visited in 1999 and was here nine months later. JERRY:

You went one or two years? JUSTIN: I went to two years.

JERRY: Two years. At the same time, you're working part time

or volunteering. JUSTIN: Volunteering for about a year.

JERRY: To work at the ministry. JUSTIN: Volunteering for a year.

JERRY: Look at you now. Pastor of the Heritage of Faith

Christian Center. I might say a great pastor. JUSTIN: Thank you.

JERRY: Not just a pastor, but a great pastor. I founded the

church, but I'm the worst attending member there because

I'm gone all the time. JUSTIN: We understand. JERRY: It's a

wonderful thing to know that it's in good hands while I'm

traveling around the world. I get reports all the time about

how great your messages are. In fact, my wife is one of your

biggest fans. She says, "Justin is amazing." She says, "He's

like you." She's one of your biggest fans. She just thanks

God every time she hears you. The growth you've experienced

and the anointing of God that's on your life, and I just thank

God enough for bringing you into our life and into this ministry.

Thank you, Justin. We're proud of you. Praise God. JUSTIN: I'm

so thankful and I'm so grateful and honored for the opportunity.

JERRY: Today, we want to talk about keys to the lifestyle of

flourishing or a flourishing lifestyle. You remember the

Spirit of the Lord said to me in November of 2016, he said, "In

beginning in 2017, the faithful shall flourish and it shall be

like days of Heaven on Earth." Immediately, I began preaching

that at the church. I preached about three services on that

subject. Since then, I have been around the world a few times and

I preached it everywhere I've gone, every nation I've been in,

and I'm telling you God is doing some exciting things and

faithfulness is something that God is always looking for in His

people. I like to say it this way. God is faithful. How about

you? I can always depend on God. It's people I'm not too ... I

can't trust from time to time. A lot of people have said over the

years, "You know, I'm gonna do this. I'm gonna do that. Uh,

we're, we're gonna partner with your ministry. We're gonna sow

into your ministry," and I'm still waiting on that, but on

the other hand, there are many, many faithful people. We have a

great number of faithful partners in this ministry, but

faithfulness is something that I've begun to pursue or it

became a quest of mine the day that I made Jesus the Lord of my

life, February 1969. I could see in the Word. I didn't know

anything about the Word at that time, but as I began to study

the Word, I could see promises that God made for faithful

people. One of them, in Proverbs chapter 20, it says that the

faithful shall abound with blessings. I had the Lord say to

me, "If you ever see anybody that's abounding in the

blessings of God," and abounding also means flourishing, "If you

ever see anybody that is flourishing in the blessings of

God, now you know why. It's because they're faithful."

Faithfulness pays off. Faithfulness is not something

that is proven over a matter of a few days or a few weeks or

even a few months. God's looking for faithfulness in your life

for the rest of your life. In fact, in the book of

Revelations, it says, "Be thou faithful unto death." That's a

long time. I've been at it now for 48 years. I've been living

this way for 48 years, and I've endeavored to prove to God that

I'm faithful, and I believe that's why I'm extremely blessed

and highly favored- JUSTIN: Amen. JERRY: Is because I found

out in Proverbs that a faithful man shall abound in blessings.

I didn't begin pursuing the blessings. JUSTIN: That's it.

JERRY: My number one pursuit was how do you become faithful. Once

I discovered God's plan and God's design for faithfulness,

then that became my pursuit, and as a result of it, the blessings

began pursuing me. It says, "These blessings will come on

you and overtake you." It didn't say, "You'll come on them and

overtake them." If you're doing what God wants you to do, if

you're faithful at it, then the- then the blessings will hunt you

down and they'll come on you, they'll overtake you and you

will flourish in the blessings. I want to spend the next few

weeks talking about keys to a flourishing lifestyle. Let's

begin in 1 Thessalonians chapter 5. If you have your Bibles with

you I invite you to open them and beginning in verse 23, the

apostle Paul makes this statement, "And the very God of

peace sanctify you wholly." Now that's W-H-O-L-L-Y, not H-O-L-Y.

"I pray God, your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved

blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." Now notice

Paul is talking about the whole man, spirit, soul and body. You

are a spirit, you have a soul and you live in a body. Notice

he says that your entire spirit, soul and body be preserved

blameless. The Message translation says, "I pray that

the very God of peace will keep you fit for the coming of our

Master Jesus Christ." The word fit implies to be furnished with

things that are proper or things that are necessary or suitable.

God is saying through the apostle Paul, I want your entire

spirit, your entire soul and your entire body. We'll also

find out that it also includes financial well being, that's the

whole part of man, spirit, soul, body, financial. That God wants

you to flourish in every area of your life. Spirit, soul, body

and financially. What do you say about that? JUSTIN: You know I

totally believe that, that God cares about all of us. He cares

about every part of us. Our spirit, our soul, our body, our

finances. You know He says I wish above all things that you

would prosper and that you would be in health even as your soul

prospers. Meaning, He's concerned about every part of

your life. In 2 Corinthians chapter 9:8 it says, "God is

able to make all grace abound towards you that you having all

sufficiency in all things may abound to every good work." That

means He wants you abound in every good work. JERRY: Yeah.

JUSTIN: He wants you abound in every ... JERRY: Having all

sufficiency. JUSTIN: In all things. JERRY: Yeah.

Everything. JUSTIN: Yeah. JERRY: Every area of our

life. Sufficiency in every area. How do you read

poverty into that? How do you read lack and want

into that? I don't know how you get poverty, lack or want in

that verse and the verse you mentioned in 3 John verse 2, "I

wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health."

Now that's John writing but the Bible says all Scripture is

given by the inspiration of God. JUSTIN: Right. JERRY: God is

inspiring John to write those words. When it says "I wish

above all things" and a better rendering would be, "I desire

above all things that you may prosper and be in health even as

your soul prospers." That is God's will. That is God's

desire, not just the apostle John's. It's God's desire that

we may prosper, that we might be in health even as our soul

prospers. I remember years ago I was preaching in Southern

California. Buddy Harrison, Happy Caldwell, Ed Dufresne and

myself were all doing a meeting together in Torrence,

California. The Lord instructed me going into that meeting to

preach from 3 John 2 about once again, "Beloved I wish above all

things that you may prosper, be in health, even as your soul

prospers." That phrase, even as your soul prospers, it just kind

of stuck in my thinking. I kept asking the Lord, what do You

mean by even as my soul prospers? Then He said this, He

said, another way of saying that would be this, in direct

proportion to the prosperity of your soul. You will prosper and

you will be in health in direct proportion to the prosperity of

your soul. Now if your soul is not prospering it's not likely

you're going to prosper financially, it's not likely

you're going to prosper in the blessings of the Lord, it's not

likely that you're going to enjoy divine health. Notice it's

all in direct proportion to the prosperity of your soul. I ask

the Lord, well what is the soul? I remembered Kenneth Hagin's

teaching many years ago that he said the soul is made up of the

mind, the will and the emotions so I began to pray about that. I

said, Lord, if the soul is made up of the mind, the will and the

emotions then what is a prosperous soul? He said this,

it is a mind that is being renewed by the Word of God.

JUSTIN: That's so good ... JERRY: It is a will that is

being conformed to My will. JUSTIN: Yeah. JERRY: It is

emotions that are under the control of My Word. JUSTIN:

Right. JERRY: A prosperous soul is a mind that's being renewed,

a will that's being conformed to the will of God and emotions

that are under the control of the Word of God. Now if you

begin a pursuit of prospering your soul then prosperity,

financially and prosperity are increasing in the blessings of

God will follow because it's in direct proportion to the

prosperity of your soul. The first thing I began to do back

there in 1969 I said okay Lord, I see in Romans chapter 12 that

I am to renew my mind. You see, when I got born again my mind

didn't get born again. It was my spirit. JUSTIN: Right. JERRY: I

became a new creation but my mind has to be renewed and that

is a process. It is a daily process. But you got to start

one day. You renew your mind, that's almost like taking a

computer and reprogramming it because the way we were brought

up, the way we were taught by and large does not line up with

the Word of God. JUSTIN: Yeah. JERRY: We have to take the Word

of God and renew our minds or reprogram our thinking. I began

that pursuit. I mean day one after I came to the Lord I began

to study the Word and you have to understand Justin, I didn't

know anything about the Word. I mean I was like Brother Copeland

used to say, I was scripturally illiterate. I knew nothing about

the Word but I had a desire, I had a hunger. I wanted to know

God, I wanted to know His Word and I could see certain promises

and I wanted those promises to work in my life. I began this

pursuit of the renewing of the mind. It was not an easy process

but you had to start it. Once I began it, it became an exciting

journey and I've been renewing my mind now for 48 years and I'm

still renewing my mind. Of course I don't think like I did

48 years ago, I've increased tremendously. But the pursuing

of the renewing of the mind is a life long pursuit. You're going

to continue doing this until the day you go to heaven. Once

again, you will prosper or you will flourish in direct

proportion to the prosperity of your soul. The renewing of your

mind, the conforming of your will and the bringing of your

emotions or another word for emotions is feelings under the

control of the Word of God. You cannot let your feelings control

you, you have to control them by the Word of God. JUSTIN: Amen.

You know for me in my life I needed to know what God's

thoughts were about me so I could have a whole soul. JERRY:

Right. JUSTIN: I could have a whole body, a whole spirit, soul

and body and finances. You know in the scripture it looks great

on coffee mugs and it's the scripture, "For I know the

thoughts and plans that I have for you says the Lord. Thoughts

of plans of peace and not evil, to give you hope in your final

outcome." You know I got a hold of that scripture but the Lord

said, Justin I want you to realize there's something more

there. He said, it's more than just a slogan, it's more than

something you put on a binder or a coffee mug. Read why that was

written. He told me this He said, go back, what was going in

their time? He was talking to them about having Jeremiah

saying I want you to write a letter to these people because

they think they're going to be in bondage forever because they

didn't have what God's will was all about. He said, now write

this to them and I want you to tell them this. He tells them,

"I want you to build houses and I want you to dwell in them. I

want you to plant gardens and eat the fruit of them. I want

you to take wives and have sons and daughters, take wives for

your sons and give your daughters in marriage that they

may bear sons and daughters and multiple there and He says and

do not be diminished." The thing is is God's plan for us is for

us not to be diminished in any area of our life but it comes

back to knowing His Word so our will, our soul and our emotions

can become perfected and made whole as God desires them to be.

JERRY: Amen. Praise God. You know our time has slipped away

but we're going to continue this for the next few weeks. I want

to encourage all of you to make your plans to join with us.

We're going to be talking about how that you can flourish

spiritually, physically, mentally and financially. You

don't want to miss this. I want you to watch as our announcer

has a special product that we'd like to offer you this week.

Watch now and Justin and I'll be back in just a few moments.

ANNOUNCER: Years ago, the Lord instructed Jerry Savelle

to make an impact on the kingdom of God in Africa.

As a friend and partner of Jerry Savelle Ministries,

you've provided vital Bible school training to

over 5000 pastors and ministry leaders over the last 10 years.

The hope and truth found in God's Word is needed now more

than ever. Thank-you for your faithful support of our

worldwide outreaches. You're making a difference.

JEREMIAH: Hi, I am Jeremiah Emmanuel. This is my partner

story. In the back of my Bible, there are sermons back there,

and one of those sermons was from Dr. Jerry Savelle and it

was titled The Authority Of The Believer. After studying through

that sermon and realizing the power I had in God, I felt led

to search the internet for anything I could find from Dr.

Savelle. From there I found Heritage Of Faith Christian

Center, and while I was watching one of their online services,

the Lord had told me in my heart, "Go to Crowley and you

would be blessed." So we came down here in June just for a

church visit. My wife and I didn't quite understand why we

were coming down, but we were just wanting to follow what God

told us to do. During an amazing church service there, we felt

the leading of the Lord to make this our church home. So

we didn't know what we were going to do. We were totally

intimidated by the fact of moving all the way from Tulsa to

Texas in three weeks. But we knew that if God was asking us

to do this, he would supply us with everything we needed to be

successful. One morning while I was serving at the church, an

opportunity opened up, when someone came by the church and

let me know that there was an opening here at Jerry Savelle

Ministries International in their shipping department. Now,

I'm completely used to working in call centers and customer

service jobs and things like that, so working in a shipping

department was totally different for me, but I felt God telling

me to take this opportunity, to seize the provision he put

forth. So I went ahead and came to the ministry to ask about

this open job. I did receive the job, and I started in October of

2015. It's a totally different job than anything I was ever

used to, but I knew that as I was here, God was working on

restoring my life in bigger and better ways than I could have

ever tried to. Only a few months after I started working in the

shipping department, an opportunity opened up to manage

the prayer and partner arm of this ministry, where we deal one

on one with partners doing the things that I used to do in

those call center jobs I did before, it was absolutely

perfect the way God used that old knowledge to supply a gift

to be used at this ministry. As I've gone on serving this

ministry in each of the areas that I've worked in, I keep

going by keeping myself grounded in the Word and in all the

teachings from Dr. Savelle, everything that he puts out, all

the information he gives us, it just provides so much knowledge

for us to be able to live the life of faith God has called all

of us to live. I am eternally thankful to Jerry Savelle

Ministries and the partners of the ministry that help to make

all these materials available to people hungry for the Word, so

that way they can have that one piece of information to

get their life back on track in the right way. I

am Jeremiah Emmanuel. This is my partner story.

JERRY: Thank-you, partners, for sharing your testimony

with us. We love praying for our partners, and

we love hearing your testimonies. Please

continue to share them with us. Listen, we also

encourage you to send us your prayer request. We had our

prayer department, or actually our partner services, to type a

list of all the prayer requests we've received recently. Instead

of bringing all those letters in, just had them typed up so

that I can read them to you. I'm going to have Justin to join

with me. We're just going to believe God for some miracles

here on this broadcast today. Angela says she needs prayer for

family, home, finances, her ministry, and her health. In

other words, she needs a complete overhaul I think. Linda

says, "I need deliverance for my daughters from pain medication".

Ramona said she needs a healing in relationships. Protection.

Her family. Her home. Her vehicle. Her job. Her health.

Her prosperity. Her business. She needs favor. She also want

to lose weight, praise God. Then Michael said he needs healing

and guidance from the Holy Spirit. Jane, restoration from

house property, debt freedom, family and business success.

Then Terry for healing of a baby born with holes in its lungs.

Then Ruth, healing and restoration for her family.

Justin, let's lay hands on these. I'm going to ask you to

just present them to the Lord. Let's believe God for miracles.

JUSTIN: Amen. JERRY: Thank-you, Father. JUSTIN: Well Father God,

we thank you for your goodness and your faithfulness. Doctor

Savelle and I right now, we release our faith over these

prayer requests. We thank you for your Word that has come to

heal us and deliver us from all destruction. We thank you for

your grace and peace surrounding them. JERRY: Yes Lord. JUSTIN:

We thank you that the anointing of God is working in destroying

and removing every yolk, or removing every burden. We

thank you for the Holy Spirit surrounding about every single

person represented here. JERRY: Thank-you, Father. JUSTIN:

Giving them wisdom, comfort, grace, and hope. Father, we

thank you for your will, and you manifesting your goodness, your

faithfulness, your glory, and your power in their lives. We

thank you that the God of the breakthrough was manifesting

them, and we thank you that they are flourishing. They're

thriving. They're expanding in every area of their lives. We

thank you for your goodness and your faithfulness in Jesus'

name. JERRY: Amen. Praise God. If you recognized your prayer

request, your name, and as soon as that prayer is answered, now

I'm expecting it to be answered, you write and tell us about it.

Okay. Because we love hearing your testimony,

and we love sharing your testimony with others,

because it's encouraging. Don't forget our special

offer, Keys to a Flourishing Lifestyle. This is brand

new. I just preached this not too long ago in a

meeting, a series of meetings in Canada. I'm telling you, it was

so powerful. The anointing of God was so strong in each and

every service. Six CDs on Keys to a Flourishing Lifestyle.

Order it today. All the ordering information is on your screen

right now. You place your order, we'll send it to you just as

quickly as possible. I know once you get it in your home, you

won't be able to put it down. Keys to a Flourishing Lifestyle.

We're going to continue this study. Justin, thank-you for

being with me today. I look forward to being with you again

next week. Once again, we're going to continue this study

next week, so make your plans to join with us. Don't forget, this

is your year. God is saying to you that he wants you to

flourish in every area of your life. JUSTIN: Amen. JERRY:

Spirit. Soul. Body. Mentally. Financially. In every area. This

is your time. This is your season. Dare to believe God for

it. Don't you ever forget, your faith will overcome the world.

ANNOUNCER: Next week. JERRY: The Bible says in the book of

Hebrews, chapter seven and chapter eight, that we have a

better covenant ... JUSTIN: That's it. JERRY: Founded upon

better promises. And if God blessed Abraham and prospered

him, and caused him to flourish, then how much

more does he want that happening in our lives?

The myth of the rich foreigner from Australia - Duration: 6:50.

The myth of the rich foreigner from Australia

The rich foreigner!

An important topic to both overseas Filipinos and to their Australian spouses In short,

most of your relatives in the Philippines think you and your Australian husband are

rich and have an endless supply of money.

They also think it's OK to share in this wealth freely.

And if you're part of an Australian Filipina relationship you need

to learn to deal with it.

All foreigners are rich There is a concept going around that everyone

who lives in Australia is rich.

The same myth applies to America and other foreign countries.

Anyone who lives overseas has a money tree growing in the yard,

and nothing is ever too much for them.

They have everything, and of course they will share it with you.

It's only fair after all.

There is no understanding of the cost of living in Australia.

No one could imagine you having to pay $300.00 or more per week in rent, or the cost

of owning and running a car.

A cappuccino costs you $4.00 to $5.00.

A beer could cost you $7.00.

Steak costs you $20.00 a kg at the supermarket.

There are no cheap tricycle or jeepney rides.

Yes, maybe you earn $1,000.00 a week, but it disappears fairly quickly.

No one realizes that.

And there is this concept of being entitled to share in the good fortune of a relative.

What's mine is yours.

They would and have always shared what they had with you, and given that you have more

to share then of course the ball is in your court

to be more generous.

Fortune smiled on you, therefore it's up to you to help out the family members and

to spread that wealth.

Pasalubong Pasalubong is a Tagalog word which describes

gifts and handouts that a returning balikbayan (returning

countryman) is expected to bring with them.

And relatives will often descend on the house of the

balikbayan relative expecting this.

Children are sometimes encouraged to ask "Where is my gift?"

I know!

Gets on my nerves too!

But if you get annoyed, you will end up with a room full of confused

people.

This is one of those cultural differences.

As an Australian it never occurs to you that you have an

obligation to purchase gifts for everyone when you travel, but here it most certainly

is.

Even taking a trip to another town in the Philippines means purchasing

things to distribute on your return.

Snack foods such as pili nut candies, dried mangos, buku

pie, chicharon, etc as well as caps, tshirts, ornaments, etc

are the usual.

And it doesn't end there.

I've heard of cases of relatives going through the suitcase and just helping

themselves, and of saying "I like that shirt.

Can I have it?"

And of course expecting to be taken to resorts, restaurants, etc during a visit and

to have the bill taken care of.

How to deal with the pasalubong mentality?

Like always, this isn't meant to be a criticism of Filipino culture, or a "Aussies know best"

rant.

This is purely cultural, and cultural differences

can be confusing and can cause misunderstanding when

interpreted according to our own cultural conditioning.

If you grow up having been taught to never ask

someone for a gift, and you hear a kid literally demanding one?

It makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.

And if you grew up fiercely independent like most Aussies did, you find the concept of

someone wanting to share in the wealth of others a bit of a shock.

Aussies are proudly independent, and generally have a don't-take-handouts mentality.

My wife sees her elderly parents.

They won't ever ask for anything, however they appreciate it when

they're given a couple of thousand Pesos.

Mila gives as a sign of love, and they take it as just that.

We used to visit my mum when she was still alive,

and Mila would always try to indirectly stock her pantry

without her noticing because she knew she would have said "No thanks, I'm fine!" if

she had offered money or anything at all really.

So Mila would place new bottles of shampoo in the bathroom, and

"forget" when we left.

She did the same thing in the food cupboard too.

Well, my mother DID notice and no she didn't like it.

To an Aussie it means saying she can't cope, and an Aussie would rather do-without

than to take charity.

But as I've covered before, the Philippines is an interdependent country.

People depend on each other, and they see no indignity in letting

those who care about them take care of them when they

need.

And even if they have less need, the fact that someone remembers them means everything.

Sadly though, greed exists and money can corrupt.

And poverty combined with jealousy can bring out the worst in people.

Again, how to manage it?

Try to see the difference between those who just enjoy that family-

thing and those who are parasites and opportunists.

Because yes there are those greedy users and abusers around, and every family seems to

have a few.

The more they get, the more they want.

And try to educate them about the realities of your life and let them know that you also

need to budget and live within your means just like

they do.

Minecraft: 4 Building Tips! - Duration: 2:35.

Wheeeeeeeee!!

Ow, my knee! Anyways...

...Minecraft is well known for building creations. They allow people to express their feelings, and generally create some awesome art.

Unfortunately, a lot of people don't really know how to build kinda like this.

Well, let me show you from the minds of the masters.

Firstly, before you even start building your creation, you need to choose which blocks you're using.

Remember not to use too many blocks, or it will get confusing.

When people build, a common mistake is to create simplistic structures without paying attention to detail.

In this case, the inside is only 2 blocks high, which doesn't result in a lot of room for building.

Builds with this lack of detail tend to not be very appealing to the eye.

But this can be improved...

Here's an example of what a house should generally look like. Two tips coming!

With almost any building, roofs should have an overhang, and the interior must be taller than 2 blocks to allow space.

The final tip lies in the floor of this platform.

As you can see, it is detailed, but not too detailed.

You can clearly see the details stand out.

Unfortunately, a lot of builds suffer from too much detail.

This wall is filled to the brim with all sorts of stuff.

With these sorts of builds, you can't really focus your eyes on one thing, and it hurts.

However, as a builder, you must find the middle ground between levels of detail. I sadly cannot help you with this.

But anyways, hopefully this helps. However, for real advice, consult a more professional builder if you must.

Who knows? You could build way better than I did here.
