Powerful Panel Discussion Tip #109 with Susan Morris: How to Make Sure Panelists Get Equal Time - Duration: 0:53.

Susan, how do make sure each panelist gets a fair amount of time to answer the questions?

I have a watch out and I keep account of time for how much time people are doing.

Which, it can be helpful, because sometimes panelists talk long, but they all talk long.

So if they're all talking at the same amount of time, and everyone's engaged, and it's

just that they're not doing pithy answers, they're doing longer ones, that's all right,

right?

If everyone's on board.

However, if one person's giving really long answers and everyone else is giving, like,

short answers, that's when you have a problem.

Why is CHINA cutting ties with NORTH KOREA? – VisualPolitik EN - Duration: 10:35.

Today we're going to talk about the Democratic People's Republic of Korea: the only country

in the world named quite-so ironically. You may know it better as North Korea. It's

as democratic as a country ruled by the same family for 70 years can be!

The head of state has been inherited through three generations of Kim's family:

Kim Il-Sung, Kim Jong-Il, and now Kim Jong-Un. And in keeping with this perfectly democratic

tradition, the leader of North Korea is called, not president, not king, but 'Supreme Leader'.

You know, just like any normal democracy.

So, what can we really say about North Korea that you haven't heard before? Well, it is

one of the most brutal dictatorships in the whole world, where mass torture, execution,

and extreme poverty are common.

And now you might ask, 'Why should we care so much about this country?'

Well, the answer is as simple as, 'NUCLEAR BOMBS!' This is a country that is still

officially at war with South Korea and makes a pastime of threatening Japan and the US

with nuclear annihilation. And while that might have sounded far-fetched at one time,

with nuclear tests happening almost every other year, people are starting to take Lil'

Kim seriously.

But you might still wonder... if North Korea is that dangerous, well, why isn't anyone

stopping them?

So, they've actually tried. Basically every sanction you could think of has been thrown

at North Korea. But instead of that financial pressure forcing reform, North Korea has just

had it's diplomats selling meth out of their embassies worldwide. Two shockers there: One,

yes indeed, there are North Korean embassies. And two, yes, they also sell drugs out of

them.

But there's one country that still calls North Korea a friend - and that's China!

They even have a treaty called the 'Sino-North Korean Mutual Aid and Cooperation Friendship

Treaty'.

'China and Korea are as close from each other as lips are close to teeth' --Mao

Zedong

China, and to a lesser extent Russia, have been the only things propping up the North

Korean regime. So, that gives China a lot of sway over Kim Jong-Un, right? Well, that's

what the international community thought... And that's how China came to be seen as

the only country the world could turn to in order to rein in North Korea's nuclear ambitions.

But not so fast. Things are changing. And China is starting to get rather annoyed at

their little brother's tomfoolery.

So the question today is what's behind the cooling of the relationship between China

and North Korea? And what consequences could this have on the future of the country? Joining

us today to answer these questions is the biggest China expert on YouTube. Yes, dear

viewers, we are talking about Chris Chappell, the host of CHINA UNCENSORED.

Hello Simon and hello to all our friends at VisualPolitik.

So relations between these two communist brothers have deteriorated so much that China and North

Korea are in the middle of a war... of words!

Basically, China said that it would work with the evil imperialists'you know, the USA to

combat North Korea's nuclear program.

Then North Korean state-run media responded that China should really think about how its

'reckless act of chopping down the pillar of [North Korea]-China relations' could

have 'grave consequences.'

And then Chinese state-run media responded with a not so subtle threat to end their alliance.

So why exactly are they stabbing each other in back? Well, we're going to have a look

at that right now!

CHINA FRIENDZONES NORTH KOREA

China and North Korea really make the perfect best friends. They have much in common: They

share a border, they both had communist uprisings, and have installed leaders who have radical

views of Marxism. The People's Republic of China and the Democratic People's Republic

of Korea really are like the Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez of the international

politics!

'Now China does more than just give North Korea financial aid. China has also made big

loans to the North Korean regime so they can build railroads and highways. And they're

pretty forgiving when Pyongyang can't pay back its debts.

And then there's oil. For decades, China was the main source of dinosaur juice to North

Korea.

Plus, there's military cooperation. China helped train North Korean hackers... hackers

who've now become a threat to the international community, including China.

And what does Beijing get in exchange? Well, North Korea is a cheap labor paradise. In

fact, many products with the 'MADE IN CHINA' label should acutally say: 'MADE IN DPRK'.

'Australian sportswear brand Rip Curl made a public apology this week after it emerged

that some of its ski gear had been made in one of North Korea's state-owned factories'

But hold on a minute, because things are starting to change. The Chinese Communist Party today

is a little less interested in the global spread of Communism, and a little more interested

becoming a global superpower. And North Korea is, well, really cramping its style.

Imagine how hard it is to be cool with America when your good buddy North Korea keeps threatening

to bomb them. But this is not the end of the story. 60 years ago, North Korea and China

were pretty similar. But today, things are quite different...

A lot of North Korean citizens would do whatever it

takes in order to cross the Chinese border. And Beijing is scared of what could become

a refugee crisis similar to that of Syria.

If this wasn't enough, Pyongyang's diplomacy hasn't been all that diplomatic

with its own allies. Here's a little snub courtesy of Kim Jong Un in 2015...

[An all-female North Korean pop band formed by leader Kim Jong Un abruptly canceled a

Beijing concert on Saturday and headed back home to Pyongyang, ]

But, undoubtedly, February 2017 became the breaking point for this friendship.

North Korea launching some ballistic missiles or conducting some nuclear tests is nothing new.

But what is new is the degree to which China is willing to criticize it.

This is happening at a time when Chinese leader Xi Jinping is trying to improve his relationship

with United States. And, of course, according to Pyongyang, this is a stab in the back.

It triggered the war of words between these two countries, with state-run media in both

countries criticizing the other.

But this is not the end of the story! Remember those Chinese trained North Korean hackers

that allegedly hit several Hollywood studios two years ago? Well... if you lay down with

dogs, don't be surprised if you wake up with fleas.

'the wave of so-called ransomware attacks that began Friday have struck China hard (...) If

North Korea is responsible, even unintentionally, it would be the first known attempt by Pyongyang

to digitally pilfer China's coffers at such a scale.

In other words, by keeping things the same, North Korea is about to lose their biggest

ally - the only country willing to defend them in case of war.

And this is a war that, even if it's only for propaganda reasons, a lot of people would

love to start?

PUTIN AND TRUMP COME IN

I know what you are thinking... 'Oh, Simon, this is quite a story! It only needs Vladimir

Putin to become a true VisualPolitik video!' So well... here you go!

'Russia has already taken over the supply of jet fuel to North Korea after China halted

exports two years ago, according to the industry sources in China.'

Russia and North Korea also have a lot of things in common. Apart from sharing a border,

they both have strong, attractive and manly leaders.

And in both countries, human rights are considered optional.

Russia and North Korea just started a ferry service that connects their two countries,

so Russian companies can be regularly stocked with a North Korean slave workforce.

Does that mean Putin and Kim are now besties?...

Well, not so fast, because Kim Jong Un has a rather funny concept of true love.

'North Korea launches a missile near Russian sea'

OK, listen, Kim Jong Un... Dude, this is not the way you make friends! And as you might

imagine, with things like this, Russia may not be too quick to become North Korea's

unconditional ally. So, for the first time in history, the most hated country has run

out of allies...

And this is when Donald Trump steps into the picture!

'Someone is not doing the right thing and I will take full responsibility about it'

This comes at a time when China is trying to work on new trade deals with the United

States. At the same time, Donald Trump is facing a lot of pressure at home.

So the question is, will Donald Trump be taking 'responsibility' for North Korea to improve

his image in the United States? Could this be the end of the North Korean dictatorship?

Well, you can leave your thoughts in the comment section below.

Korea, don't forget to check out my channel, China Uncensored.

What Do I Say When An Employer Asks For My Visa Status? #AskCheeky - Duration: 3:45.

- Hello and welcome to another edition of Ask Cheeky.

I'm Isaiah Hankel with Cheeky Scientist,

and today's question comes from Abba Anini.

"Everywhere I apply, the employer asks if I need a visa,

"and as soon as I say I do, the conversation stops.

"What do I do?"

Very common question from international PhDs.

It might feel like you have to try twice as hard

to get a job, and in many cases,

that's the truth if you're trying

to get a job, for example, in the U.S.

And in terms of all the laws

and everything you have to follow, they're changing.

Some of them changed this year.

But, you don't want to obsess as much

as you might think over the laws,

or you certainly don't want to obsess

how much harder it is for you.

Instead, you want to focus

on the most important thing you can do for your job search,

which is getting a strong referral

from somebody who works at the company.

This, no matter what your situation is,

this is a game changer.

This will remove all barriers for you.

The reason that employers are hesitant

to hire you in the first place,

even if you already have a resident card,

even if you already have a visa,

they're hesitant because they don't know you.

On average, it costs $50,000 to $60,000 to hire somebody,

just to hire them, before you

even start paying their salary.

Very few companies, for PhD-level jobs,

want to pay $60,000 on someone they have no information

on besides their own resume, right?

They don't know you.

They don't trust you.

This makes them hesitant in general.

Now, if you add on top of that the fact

that they might have to spend extra money, right?

So they might have to spend a few thousand extra dollars now

to apply for your visa sponsorship.

It makes it even more difficult.

So, try to see it from the employer's point-of-view.

However, if somebody at the company you want to work at,

an employee, recommends you strongly, says,

"This person is a very hard worker.

"Yes, they're here from another country, but because

"of that they work even harder.

"They've left family behind to come and work.

"They're 100& dedicated.

"You have to hire this person."

If you get a referral like that,

any company will hire you, they absolutely will.

And so, you want to focus your efforts on getting referrals.

As and international PhD, you should be focused even harder

on getting referrals because the data about referrals,

it's very complete, right?

Your chances of getting a job increase by 93%

or more just by getting a referral.

It's something that only 7% of applicants get, a referral.

The rest, 93%, they're just uploading resumes.

So, you can put yourself ahead,

even as an international PhD, by getting a strong referral,

by networking, by getting to know people

who work at companies,

by setting up informational interviews.

And then when it comes time to talk to a hiring manager,

an employer, don't shy away from the fact

that you need a visa.

Be transparent, be open, tell the truth,

and turn it into a positive.

Tell them again that, yes, you are an international PhD,

but that just means you're gonna work twice as hard.

You've left family behind, you're 100% committed,

you're dedicated, you'll work long hours,

and then get educated on the different visa options

and on the different resident card options, as well.

Understand the process, understand all that paperwork

that the employer will have to fill out,

the payments they'll have to make, all of this,

because if you can explain it to them and make it seem easy

and simple because you understand it really well,

then they're much more likely to hire you, too.

So again, don't count yourself out

because you have an international PhD.

Getting a strong referral overcomes all obstacles.

This takes us to the end of this episode.

Until next time, remember your value as a PhD,

and start thinking and acting

like a successful industry professional.

Lucy Philosophy #22 - Turning the Destructive Spiral of Insecurity - Duration: 2:42.

Hi! My name is Lucy

and in a last video we've explored the origin of insecurity

and even visualized a spiral

that explains how insecurity intensifies itself

for us to understand how to increase one self-esteem

will review the spiral

and try to find a way to turn it around

so one is insecure and starts questioning themselves

or becomes more self-aware

they start questioning others

and become more dependent

and unpleasant to be around

they get negative reactions

and they become even more insecure

the idea that confirmation of others

can improve ones self-esteem

is an illusion that many people get sucked into

at least once in their lives

why call it an illusion?

because the confirmation of others

can have a short-term positive effect

the won't solve the underlying problem

relying on others to strengthen your self-image

makes you dependent and therefore

more susceptible for becoming insecure

and it's the lack of insight into this vicious spiral

that preserves the spiral

but now that we are aware of it

we can turn it around

by searching for a controllable action

which is...

questioning others!

when you are aware of the spiral

you can adjust your behavior

and start showing interest in others

instead of questioning them on their opinion on you

by diverting your focus from yourself to others

your self-awareness starts to fade

and your insecurity starts to fade as well

additionally others like positive feedback as much as you do

so ask them how they're doing

and go back to having fun with them

doing cool things and making good memories

instead of wasting your time lost your own thoughts

it may not instantly vanish all of your insecurities

but it will help to increasingly fade you doubt

and meanwhile strengthen the relationships

that will stabilize your social position

and sense of belonging

as I mentioned before

these are some of my findings

and I'm going to need all of you to help me out

by sharing your thoughts and your experiences

in the comments section below

and maybe tell me

what did your insecurities feel like

and how did you flourish from it

how do you recognize insecurities in others

and how can you help them out

to raise their self-esteem

thanks for watching and good bye

DIY Wireless Firework Launcher! - Duration: 5:23.

just in time for July 4th we thought it'd be fun to make a DIY Wireless

firework trigger so you can launch fireworks from a distance besides

shooting this by hand was a little dangerous!

alright let's build it! the circuit itself is quite simple we're utilizing

two arduino nanos 2 RF modules a relay board a limit switch and obviously a

breadboard to prototype it. To see the complete circuit diagram and build

instructions visit our page on maker.io there are links in description below

alright now that we have the circuit made let's make the switch I mean I'm all lit

up in 3d CAD now it speed up the process I found many electronic components we

need to use for this project on grab CAD which is a free site where engineers and

share the 3d models now that have some fun with project I decided to make it

look like a mini TNT detonator as always we've included links in the

description below to download the three files in case one 3d print your own

let's start printing

once we finish printing we got boxing to jam all electronic parts inside the

products boxes and a bit of permanent marker later we're ready to test alright

so how does it work basically we have two arduino nanos

which are tethered with an RF module when you press limit switch it

wirelessly triggers a relay inside this box which is connected to the high

discharged lithium polymer battery it's been a short thin wire which we've

wrapped around the igniter

fuck that's bringing range

all right let's have some bigger things first a little silver rain

all right next up we have something Fernando made called Sparky mark three

and we're going to light this off in his honor

next step we have this terribly unsafe bundle of are these black cats

alright that was a big one

there are little boombox worked quite well thank you washing does alright so

it turns out we have one more experiment for you guys

Ian's preparing something in the fire pit right now let's see if this is an

effective fire starter

how's it coming there you throw this home

why'd we make a tutorial

Reddit UHC World Cup - Episode 2: Taalpuristen [DUTCH W/ ENG SUBTITLES] - Duration: 21:24.

Welcome back! This is Episode 2

of uhm... Wow, I really need to switch over... Sheesh.

Welcome back! Episode 2 of UHC World Cup.

This is Frostbreath reporting and I'm alive!

We've been seriously lucky in um...

...in the previous episode. Check this out: 4 books!

With Power III, Sharpness III.

How often does that happen? I know it's a glitch...

That one book spawns 4 times in a chest...

But... You know...

Glitches happen. There's also less fun glitches...

For example getting stuck in a wall.

And then most people say

"Yeah, tough luck." And now it's like

Yeah, I've been lucky! Cuz I found 4 Power III,

Sharpness III books!" And that's really great!

I'm also very curious how many others started speaking in their native language

I must admit...

It's not as bad as I thought!

It actually feels great, so maybe I'll do another episode in Dutch.

Anyway

If you're [Jullie Nederlanders] suddenly thinking: "Hey, that voice is strangely familiar

haven't I heard that before?" Quite possible!

If you've been listening to my channel for quite some time

then it's obvious, but if it's not and you're thinking: "Hey, that's quite the funny snowman, let's subscribe!"

But I know that voice...

I'll leave it up to you to figure out where you know it from.

And if not: Hai, I'm Frostbreath.

26 years old.

I studied on the teacher's academy until the final year

and then I quit.

That was mostly because the job at hand wasn't what I thought it would be after all.

Teaching is great, working with kids is awesome

but everything that comes with it is

crap... To put it that way.

So that's why I stopped.

It's actually quite a shame. But on the other hand: I now have a job

at a school care.

Not in my own town

If you're wondering where I live: not gonna tell you!

But I can tell you

I live near Utrecht.

In a smaller town somewhere close to it.

Not Nieuwegein, but that ain't a small city.

But you're getting close, enough said.

Right. As you can see, I'm in a Stronghold.

And for you English viewers: Yes, that's something that we Dutchies

say as "Stronghold" in Dutch.

I could also say "Underground Castle" [Great translation, me]

But that sounds so... dopey. Which is typical

for Dutch, that everything is translated

so incredibly precisely. It's what the Dutch love to do.

Oh, hi there! Just what I need.

Translating so precisely

it just doesn't sound nice at all.

That is why I prefer saying things in English terms, especially in Mineraft.

I almost broke that one. Wasn't needed, because I can just go down here.

That was a Silverfish Block.

See? I won't translate "Silverfish" either

because it just doesn't sound right...

At least not for me. Maybe for the language purists

which might be thinking: "Yesh, Frost Breath. Thou shallt

speaketh classic Dutch."

But I won't. Sorry.

Hey, is this the same library as before or is it another one?

It IS another one!

Apparently there's 2 libraries in this Stronghold.

Sounds kinda weird... I say "libraries" [in Dutch] followed by Stronghold [in English]...

It's better to say

"library in a stronghold." Oh well...

That's the Dutch. We're slowly but surely

mixing the Dutch language with

English.

And what can you do about it? Not much

That's why we live in a mixed society. Live with it.

I wonder how it's going to develop further. Maybe

Dutch will "English-ify" even more, because

you especially hear it with academy studies:

"Hey, I follow the study "Economy and Business Management."

It sound so... Epic!

I must admit, it sounds better than "Economy and Business...

Management..." Maintenance. No, not maintenance.

Flair for languages...

Management, come on...

Management... Leadership!

I mean, that sounds pretty fancy, but people think saying it in English

make it sound even more fancy. I don't know.

And that goes for more and more terms.

Not just university studies

but also for, you know, games.

I mean, we actually say the word "games", which is as English as it can be.

Not to mention all English and French words we use every day.

Oh, this is a bit sad...

Had I known that, I would've never made pants. Oh well, nothing you can do.

So yeah... I work on a school care and next to that

at least for now, tutoring on school subjecs. But by the time this

video is released, I'll have quit that job.

I'll be quitting after June 21st with my job as tutor

Really enjoyed it, awesome job.

I've been able to teach kids a lot and working 1-on-1

is something I'm really good at.

Ohhh man, it's really my lucky day right now. Wait wait wait.

Back off.

Let's get full armor first, before we jinx stuff.

And if you've been watching me for a long time and speak Dutch, then you know how it goes

with me. Suddenly, a creeper will pop up from behind and it's game over...

People were joking around when I said I wanted to do episode 2

in Dutch: "What if you die in episode 1?"

Yeah...

Had no comment on that...

Then I would've, I dunno, made fun of them in Dutch or something.

Ey, WintherWaffle?

[Dutch saying with terrible pun with Winther's name...]

So...

Right, what we need is...

Helmet, boots, bucket...

Let's get a bucket of water!

Nice, classic Dutch song. Fancy.

With a bit of luck that is a 5-vein.

Not 4...

As we've come across more often...

4 diamonds...

Just 1 short. I'd rather find 1

and then 4 more.

Wait, did I hear a zombie?

I must be careful not to

flip out and become paranoid.

Helmet, check. Done!

By the way, what do you think of my gorgeous

orange scarf and tattoos of the Dutch flag?

As well as my classic intro having the Dutch

anthem instead of "Frosty the Snowman" [I actually forgot to change that...]

Decided to do it differently

as this is a thematic recorded round.

Just like Nuzlocke and Out of Orbit I always do

a little extra, as thematic RRs

are a lot of fun.

Because they're different from others.

You wouldn't call To The End a thematic round.

I'd like to view it as such, because every 5 seasons

we go to the End and attempt to slay the Enderdragon.

It has been done once in Season 5. In Season 10

it didn't go as planned. The Dragon won...

Funny thing is: in Season 5, a Dutch guy won.

Who actually won TTE 4 times already, but... Oh man, so lucky today...

5 diamonds!

Not normal... But I know this will somehow

come back at me. Not sure how, but it will happen.

You'll see that at this very moment, someone is digging to me...

Those fun things...

So I need to think of something quick

which is

smelting gold...

Diamond...

Pickaxe. See? Here I go again with all English names.

You just automatically do that when playing Minecraft

I've actually never

played it in Dutch, because when I saw that

Mooshroom was translated to...

[Strange Dutch translations...]

[Disgusting translation]. And then I was like... Yeah

Never mind...

Not in Dutch. It sounds horrible...

What does it even mean?!

How do you even get to that?

I admit, it's creative

and better than translating Redstone [thankfully they didn't]

I believe Redstone isn't translated in Dutch as it is the official name of the resource.

Other from that, I don't know...

Dutch just doesn't fit in games.

That's why I prefer playing games in English

because sometimes...

I personally think it just doesn't do the job. Everyone to his own, but

Dutch in games... Nahh.

Games for kids, okay... If you're 6 or 7 years old

and can't speak English

Fair enough. Games with things such as

Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck

and maybe LEGO games in Dutch. Sure thing.

Makes perfect sense.

As a 6-7 year old kid you can't speak English decently.

It's improving, as you're now being taught English from age 4 these days.

Are most schools doing this? Yes, yes...

Are they really all doing this? Yes, good boys.

So it's improving, but still...

It's good to have games in Dutch for the younger folks.

But when you grow up, it's better to watch things in English, because

people you play online with all speak English.

If you find them.

Not all, yeah. For example: Russian people

are an exception, as they rarely speak English

in games, I believe.

I could be wrong, though.

They speak mostly Russian. Then there's some French, who

refure to speak English even when they can.

Other than that, it's pretty good. Some Germans maybe, but it's improving a lot.

You still see those English-spoken movies

where everything speaks German. They call King Kong

"König Kong". And I'm like "Just stop it" as we Dutch don't do that either.

We just say King Kong.

Come on.

English is, after all

the "big language".

Yes, Spanish is the most common language in the world,

but to communicate almost everyone can speak English.

And it's getting better.

If I'm honest, I only got taught English when I was 10,

but I really started to learn it when I started watching English movies and documentaries,

from the moment I started to play games actively

and started communicating with others in English. Only then you'll actively

learn English. But just learning words at school

is the most stupid thing there is. That's me saying it as

almost-teacher, that just learning words is ridiculous.

Seriously, you won't learn English with just that. Simple as that.

You only learn how to replicate things from the top of your head

not how to use the language.

And that is actually the point: learning to use the language.

At this moment, many primary schools... It's a good thing that they...

offer English classes from the age of 4, but with higher years, they still

expect students to

simply study words.

And then a teacher asks a student to say something in English

and it turns out they can't really do that.

Why? Because they only learn words inside out

and things you learn from the top of your head

for just one test, let's put it like that,

to just translate those words

like you do with topography, you'll forget quite soon after.

In other words: it's not very effective...

It doesn't work.

Just learning words, doesn't teach you to speak English.

So, learn to actively use it!

Speak English with others, meet other people online.

I mean, the internet is so free and open these days, it's not hard

to meet foreign people and talk to them. I do it as well.

All recorded rounds I'm in have people from all over the world.

Not all places, okay...

And it's a lot of fun. You'll also learn things

about how things work and culture of other countries.

If that interests you, that is...

Status update: 12 gold,

just 1 heal, not much. Do I have Lapis? Nope, didn't grab any...

So I'll do that now. And I just remembered: I've been mining four

obsidian, but I still lack an Enchant Table, because I'm so distracted...

by myself...

Typical, typical, typical...

We won't enchant sword and bow yet. We need to

mine iron like crazy, because I need that anvil.

For the super overpowered

books I have. It's quite bizarre.

I can, let's see, if I do this smart

I can come quite far already...

But do I want Sharp 3 Power 3, or do I... Actually, you know what, I do want

Sharp 3 and Power 3 and then Power 4 is a possibility.

6... 14 iron. Okay, first of all, let's

enchant all armor. Oh man, it's a big mess...

I've got enough books so I can

get rid of these.

Got loads of string, still haven't made a bow...

Got flint.

What do I still need? Not this, for sure.

Raw meat. Nah. Lot's better, isn't it?

Inventory management...

Still not my thing...

Projectile... Will cost me 3 levels, so screw that.

Oh sh*t. That was 2, crap...

Whatever, so be it...

And protection...

I saw it for a very short moment and then I already clicked on Protection I...

Oh well, it happens.

Everyone makes mistakes...

We all make mistakes.

Look how much iron I missed, can you believe it?

I may get glasses. By the way,

I'm 26 and I still have lenses nor glasses.

I'm starting to think about it... Oh!

Would you look at that!

FrozenBenny...

Has...

Oh boy, Israel killed Italy!

Ouch...

Israel: 1 kill.

Italy: out of the running.

How is FrozenBenny doing?

51. Still has got decent

damage leftover from it.

Oh, we haven't fully explored that Stronghold, by the way.

I don't think there's much more to it, though.

I know there's 1 more room with a chest, but...

Check this out, one big broken mess over here.

Looks terrible.

Of course, it's... Oh wait, thought this was going in a circle.

All dead ends.

Rooms.

Whatever.

This is going up. Something here? I don't know

the layout of Strongholds well enough

to know where this last chest should be.

I know it's in some sort of wooden room.

But I just rarely find Strongholds.

That's how rare they are.

Super rare, indeed.

Hey! You're the first mob!

Lil' baby.

Don't try to... outsmart me, friend.

This one is behaving very odd.

Probably deeply impressed my my Dutch skills.

He's like: "The heck are you talking about, I don't understand..."

No worries! In about 2 minutes, we'll revert back to

English. It'll take some getting used to it, but

it was great fun, to actually talk Dutch like this,

in a recorded round episode.

Maybe we'll do it again in episode 4? I'll think about it.

I'll have 20 minutes to do so.

I need loads of levels, by the way, so I'll be mining all redstone.

And pay close attention to any creep

deciding to kill me. You never know!

With creep I do not only mean Creepers, but also players thinking:

"Hey!

I'll be moving over to you."

Spider.

If there's a mineshaft as well, I'm the luckiest man ever.

I'm also still in the running for Iron Man.

What the... Oh!

Bat, right... Giving a show.

Comes from all the way over there...

I do like to get that Lapis. Let's check this out first.

Hello.

Woah! I'm really happy I moved to this place now!

Even more diamonds!

We might switch to diamond gear soon, boys.

Or a Sharp 3 diamond sword, as I have 2.

Maybe it's not a bad idea... Sharpness 3 diamond sword.

Why not, am I right? If we end up having to melee,

which everyone is a huge fan of these days...

Right, so Golden Heads heal 3 hearts.

If you've never seen UHC before, Golden Heads

drop when a player is killed in a UHC game.

As some sort of reward.

Man, this is quite dangerous. All right, that's gone.

Good.

In a few minutes, it'll no longer be a threat.

Last 20 seconds in Dutch, then we'll go back

to English!

It was a lot of fun!

I hope you as Dutch viewer

enjoyed it as well,

to hear things differently.

Let me know.

And I'll see you next time!

IPAD PRO ART - Illustration using Procreate and Apple Pencil! - Duration: 6:39.

Hey Everyone.

I wanted to create new Youtube Channel Art this weekend.

I didn't initially intend to make a video out of it.

I was just going to put it up on my channel.

But I ended up putting a few hours into it, so I figured I'd make a video out of it.

Normally my video is going to be 4K, and much higher quality, and you'll be able to see

me actually physically on the piece as I go.

But because I didn't have my camera set up or anything like that….this is actually

taken directly from Procreate, which by default it saves every action you make on an artwork

and creates this time-lapse movie of it.

And so that's what this is.

I thought I'd just go through it, and talk over it.

What I like about it is that you can see all the mistakes I'm making in the beginning.

Tweaking.

Getting my idea down for this piece.

Going into it, I didn't want to use any sources for this.

I wanted this entirely from my imagination.

And for the most part - 90% of it is.

This idea was to have sort of this child, on a magic carpet, rolling up to, sort of

this vista, this beautiful oasis type place in the desert.

And that's all I really went into this with.

So if you're out there and thinking about uploading some Youtube channel art of your

own, Google's recommended size is 2560 x 1440 pixels, and has to be 4mb or smaller.

What's nice is that when you actually do upload your image to Google, they are going

to give you a preview.

Of what your image, your Youtube channel art is going to look like on all the different

devices.

So your phones, your computers, TV's, tablets, etc.

So, what I really like about this image is that it's all from my head.

The only thing I used a source for was some of the sand dunes, and seeing how the shadows

lay on some of those sand dunes.

At the end, I think actually the sand dunes are one of the less successful parts of the

image.

Along with the sky, wasn't too happy with those, I definitely could have gone back and

probably redo the whole thing, on those 2 parts.

But at the end of the day, I decided it was fine, it didn't really get in the way of

the image, and so I kind of just left it.

I felt that the girl on the carpet looks pretty good.

I was happy with that.

It stands out.

And later on in the video you'll see, not a mirage, but this emeral or jade, oasis,

city, that is kind of glowing down there in the lower portion of the right hand side.

I think that came out pretty well too.

For not looking at any sources, I was happy with it it.

It sort of looks like its glowing, or decaying, but it definitely stands out.

It's fun to look back and watch this sort of white blob just become a little bit more

alive.

I really enjoy this Procreate feature that records your video.

It's a great way to learn to see where your mistakes were.

Its just a great tool.

Something that they probably didn't even need to add, but very welcome for artists.

This is fantastic.

You could see there is still pencils, you could see some pencil lines, at this point

I hadn't turned it off, they are still there.

And here, I start drawing the dragons, which are, ending up being one of my favorite parts.

So as I was creating, I was trying to think of the story that I was telling.

A big part of this would be, this illustration, would be sort of the narration.

What does it mean?

What's the point?

And you'll notice toward the end of the video, I felt like it needed something to

pull it all together.

And what I ended up doing was creating these three little jade objects on the carpet.

I don't quite know what they are, but they sort of had the same glow and same look, as

the jade or emerald city below.

So maybe she's delivering these objects to the city, or she is investigating, or maybe

they are navigating her magic carpet towards this place.

I'm not quite sure.

But I actually like that a lot.

It's one of the last things I added.

And I felt like a little touch like that could really pull everything together and tell the

story and lead to some questions, and thinking about it.

So for me that is one of my favorite parts of the video, was adding that, and it's

right at the end which is why I mention it now.

One other thing is that I don't have a title for this artwork, so I thought it would be

fun if you do have an interesting, creative or funny title, put it in the comments below,

and whichever one gets the most upvotes, I guess in a week from now or so, I'll put

into my channel description with your name on it.

I can't wait to see what you guys come up with it.

Thanks a lot for watching!
