Hi, my name is Jerrett.

I'm a technician here at AMS Ducati Dallas and this is the Scrambler race bike that we've

built.

That I personally race in CMRA.

Run it in the Formula 3 Class.

Won the last three races.

Been on the podium every race this year.

Currently leading the championship.

Started out it was a 2015 Full Throttle.

It's quite a bit different now.

It's bored out to a 888.

It's got race heads, cams, converted it to dual throttle bodies, lightweight flywheel,

Carrillo rods, lightweight crank.

Makes 95 horsepower to the rear wheel.

Obviously updated the front end from a 999R, the wheel, the forks, the breaks.

Everything that we used to build this bike was here in stock.

It's kinda how it all came together.

That was the idea, to build something out of components we already had.

You can buy most everything on this bike from us.

Have the pistons in stock.

Out of the box, Scramblers put about 68, 68 horsepower to the rear wheel.

So it's quite a big jump.

Just a cool little project we wanted to do.

Something a little bit different than the Superbikes you usually see out at the track

and it takes a lot of people by surprise.

It's a really fun bike to ride.

It's just neat and different and it stands out and this is the kind of stuff we can do

with Scramblers.

Why the Tone Shift in Sunrise Works? - Duration: 6:30.

It took me a while to start enjoying silent films

Not that it's hard to see why

They are so different from movies made today,

With a distinct sense of rhythm and movement,

Almost as if they're a totally different art form

When I stop seeing cinema only as entertainment,

I searched for more more,

which led me to watch films considered important

And that did not interest me until recently

But, I still saw silent films with a certain disdain,

Only silly comedies without much merit

(Even though I didn't saw any)

My opinion began to change after seeing the movies of

Georges Méliès

Charlie Chaplin

Robert Weine

Abel Gance

Carl Theodor Dreyer

Luis Buñuel

and Buster Keaton

But the respect that this form of filmmaking was worth only came with

Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans, by FW Murnau

I LOVE this film

Witch is something weird for me to say, a person who does not like melodramatic films about love,

but there is so much to love in this movie

However, I want to discuss one element that is often used to criticize this film

The tone shift it suffers a little after the halfway point

When a thriller about the complicated relationship of a couple becomes ...

Well...

but, before we talk about that, I'll need to give a bit of context

and for that, I'll need to discuss the story, so ...

Let's Go

This is the story of a Man and his Wife

They have a farm, a son and are, well, happy

Until, one summer, comes a City Woman, seducing man

Deluded by passion, he sells things of his farm and his marriage begins to deteriorate

Several weeks pass

Until the City Women suggests that the man sells the farm so that they can live together

He likes the idea, however, think a little and asks "...and my wife?"

City Woman answers "Couldn't she ...

...Get drowned? "

He don't want to do this, but is convinced by her

The next day, he invites the Wife to go to the other side of the lake

She accepts, because sees a chance to revive the lost passion,

even though she suspects that there's something wrong

They enter the boat, the man paddles without looking to the Wife

Until he stops the boat,

gets up,

and, slowly

begins to approach the wife and ...

he can't.

When they arrive, the Wife makes a wise decision and runs away.

The Man runs after her. They go to the city.

He takes her to a bakery (?) ... bistro (?) ...

He tries to buy cakes for Wife hoping to make amends

She clearly wants to forgive him, but can not

The Man tries to buy flowers, still wanting an understanding.

and they go to a wedding that is going on in the city's church.

They sit when the priest speaks to the groom:

"... guide her, and love her... keep and protect her from all harm "

Man breaks, kneels to the Wife and begs for forgiveness and

DAMMIT, THERE'S SOMETHING IN MY EYE

Now, having a "remarriage"

they go to the street, not caring about others other than themselves,

as if in a bucolic paradise and ...

This is where the film stops being a thriller and becomes a romantic comedy ...?

And then things happen ...

They want to take a picture, but before the Man needs to shave, so they go to a salon

Where another man tries to flirt Wife

When theyc go take the picture, there's a whole mess involving a statue

After that, they go to a amusement-park-restaurant-dance-track

What?

where a pig ends up getting drunk

This scenes seems disjointed with the rest of the film

but they have many interesting things to talk about the film

Perhaps the most obvious reading is that the tone reflects the emotional state of the characters in each moment of the film

At first, the film takes place at night, with strong shadows and fog, the tone is of suspense

This reflects the sadness and uncertainty of the characters

After the suspense arrives at its highest point in the boat scene

The movie becomes a romantic melodrama, with both trying to reconnect

When this melodrama reaches also an apex with the two reconnecting in the church

the tone reflects a more hopeful and innocent state

And then when they are on their neo-honeymoon ...

the tone reflects this by showing the characters back to how they were before:

"Like children, happy and always smiling"

And this is well demonstrated in their attitudes

They are always looking at each other, smiling,

making nonsense, getting into trouble

It's almost like a romantic comedy,

and, unlike other people who criticize this by saying that

"The studio forced Murnau to put these scenes in the film to please the audience"

I don't have that impression

It uses the language of a romantic comedy, with some of its clichés,

to reflect what the characters are experiencing

And this idea of reflecting the emotional state of the characters is valid

With the return suspense for the journey back to the field, but now, with another context

And there is another issue being discussed here

Our two characters when they arrive in the city,

They are constantly shown as that stereotype of "country people"

They do not understand the "city people" with their passion for etiquette and a certain level of superficiality

Likewise, the city does not understand them

And this is shown in several scenes,

As they getting scared to get ripped off the head of a statue that has no head

or chasing a pig in a crowd

They are not in their element

This theme is not very discreet ...

All the city is afraid of pig

(Although he has some problems that need solving)

While the man is the one who is trying to get it

and the dance scene uses the song ...

"Peasant Dance"

(discrete)

The way I'm describing these moments may seem malicious

Because we're laughing at those most vulnerable

But this difference between the couple and the "city people" is, in a way, celebrated

They gain the respect and attention of others to save the pig, for example

Besides these moments are the comedy of the "romantic comedy"

they also humanize the characters

We saw one of them cheat and then try to kill his wife, so, trying to humanize them is not a bad idea

I could talk more about this film, because it has so much in it that I just love

But I think I've said enough. So if you haven't seen this masterpiece ...

Dream Daddy Review: WHY WON'T ROBERT LOVE ME?! (Spoiler-Free) - Duration: 4:55.

I recently got Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator, the Game Grumps' produced video game, and,

to be completely honest, I did not expect it to be that good.

Not in general, but for me personally.

Last time I got a dating simulator game to support YouTubers, it didn't turn out well.

For example, I never even finished it.

But it was payday and I loved the memes on Twitter so I was like why not, you know?

Livin' a vida loca!

I don't think that's the right quote.

Anyways and I absolutely LOVED Dream Daddy!

My first dadsona was Milano Marshall.

Listen I wanted to give him a good name and BabyNames.com was messing me up with all of

their pop-up ads so I just gave him the first names I saw through the pop-up ads.

And okay I understand Milano Marshall is kind of a weird name, but I just kind of want you

to back off a little bit okay 'cause he is my precious marshmallow cupcake daddy who

just wants to love and protect his precious Amanda who is so precious and probably my

favorite part of the whole game.

And CLEARLY my first choice for my #DreamDaddy and Amanda's new step-daddy was THE Robert

Smalls.

Just look at that tall stack of pancakes at a Denny's, OOOH!

It's at a Denny's because he probably smells like cigarette smoke...like a Denny's.

That's the joke.

That was, that's what my brain came up with.

Omg it's only my first night with Robert and we're already doing shots together.

#RealLifeRelationshipGoalsssss.

OMG NOW HE JUST INVITED ME BACK TO HIS PLACE.

Honestly it's a little slutty of me, but how can I resist?

It's Robert!

The tall stack of pancakes at a Denny's.

This is it!

Robert and I are going to make our connection.

We're going to fall in love.

Annnnnnnd three booty calls later, I lost the game.

RIP me and Robert's love.

That's fine.

Milano Marshall deserves better than that smokey stack of pancakes.

He deserves IHOP.

And those delicious IHOP stack of pancakes comes in the form of….Damien.

The goth Dad.

Damien was my second-choice Dream Daddy and let me just say, after playing through his

entire storyline, I honestly feel a little guilty having him be only my second choice.

He is actually super interesting compared to the rest of the daddies with his eccentric

passions and just his storyline is so good.

It was honestly just so satisfying playing his storyline like there was resolution, there

was love, there was heart.

It was-Damien.

You precious little goth dad, you.

Seriously, friends, find yourself a nice stack of pancakes like DAMIEN.

Don't go to Denny's.

Go to IHOP.

Go to Damien.

In fact, I love Damien so much that I knew I would've felt guilty if I cheated on him

with the other dudes just to finish the other storylines and finish the game.

So of course, my genius idea, I had Nate, my little brother, create a whole new dadsona

for me to just grind with and get the other storylines out of the way and Nate created

Thotty.

Thotty Sloot.

It's something alright.

And what I discovered with….Thotty, is that even though this game definitely has great

replayability value, dating the other dads isn't always the funnest part.

Especially when you connect to one of the dads like I did, most of the grinding is actually

super repetitive and kind of boring.

It gets especially repetetive and boring when you mess up a date and you have to go back

and replay the date so you get that perfect score so you get that perfect picture of your

dad.

What's great about exploring these other storylines though is discovering more of the in-game

universe.

It's so much fun to see how all of the characters interact with each other despite their extreme

personalities.

For example, OG Dream Daddy Robert's interactions with Craig's baby River and Joseph's twins

are so funny.

In fact this whole game is funny.

Like I genuinely laughed out loud at parts, especially Ninja Brian's voice cameo which

came out of NOWHERE.

But what's not funny is that no matter how hard I try, ROBERT SMALLS WILL NOT LOVE ME.

I know I just said earlier to find yourself an IHOP stack of pancakes like Damien, but

c'mon!

Gosh darn it sometimes that grease infused, cheap-as-heck, smoke-smelling stack of pancakes

from Denny's is just too tempting to resist.

So I've decided that there's only one Dad daddy enough for the bad dad Robert and his

name is Billy Biggs.

Look at him.

He's suave, he enjoys knives, he takes shots of whiskey like a champ, annnnd three booty

calls later, I lost the game.

*sighhhhhh* Well.

At least we'll always have IHOP.

Or Margarita Zone, if you do Joseph's storyline right.

*crying* But overall, this game just has so much heart and is such a diamond in the rough.

I was very surprised on how much I would actively enjoy it and continue to play even after I

got through the initial storyline.

Now $15 is a little steep of a price, but since it's supporting an indie game developer

and a YouTube channel that I actively enjoy.

I think it's a worthy price to pay for this wonderful little gem of a game.

A vehicle drifting to the right and striking my car almost cost me my life.

Like many officers, one of my biggest fears while working on the highway is being struck

by a passing vehicle.

Troopers and other emergency personnel are on the road every day to ensure safe travels.

And with three feet of space next to a car on the side of the road, our work space is

a small one.

When you see an emergency vehicle on the side of the road, PLEASE MOVE OVER and give us

room to work.

State law requires one lane away from highway workers when it is safe to do so.

If there is no opportunity to change lanes safely, please slow down.

By moving over and slowing down, we can work together to save the lives of motorists, law

enforcement officers and road crews here in the state of Kansas.

5 Common Growing Pains Of A Spiritual Awakening

For those of us who find ourselves travelling on a spiritual path, it can be very common

to experience a few �growing pains� on our journey.

Things which hurt beyond belief, but which always result in more clarity, wisdom, and

a deeper perspective. Identifying these common struggles of the spiritual path can be helpful.

It makes us realize we are not alone, and that there are certain archetypal energies

that all people on a spiritual path end up encountering.

If you are experiencing some of these struggles, have faith. The change you are experiencing

is occurring because you are becoming a more authentic and connected person. The pain you

feel is just a temporary catalyst that will propel you into your new self.

As you change, it�s natural to grieve the loss of aspects of your former self. Don�t

be attached to your old identity in your mind. The key to deal with growing pains on the

path to spiritual ascension is to accept the flow as life and to work with reality, not

against it.

Here are 5 common growing pains of spiritual ascension we all experience:

1) Losing friends

This one can be especially traumatic for those people. Becoming more spiritually connected

can change a lot about you very quickly, and this can affect some of your closest friendships.

It may cause some of your friends to turn on you, distance themselves from you, and

even bully you.

Before hand, perhaps you were willing to engage in behaviors that now just seem wrong to you,

such as gossiping, complaining, or competing for the top position in your pack of friends.

It�s also likely that the topics you used to discuss with your friends now make you

feel empty, and that you now prefer to discuss issues that your friends don�t understand

or are uninterested in. They may even call you crazy for it.

Unfortunately, these differences in perspective and behavior can sometimes be enough to rip

apart friendships that have meant a lot to you over the years. Realize that all you can

do is be true to yourself and allow the cards to fall as they may. You do not have the power

to convert anyone to your way of thinking, and you don�t have to. All you can do is

be genuine and sincere, and the universe will connect you with people who are more aligned

with your new vibration.

2) Misunderstandings in the family

While most family members are less likely to walk away from you because you are on a

spiritual path, they are still quite likely to be confused by your change in perspective.

If you have parents who are religious, they may even accuse you of being lost and separate

from God. Everyone knows that meditation is just another way Satan can whisper in your

ear, right?

Stay authentic, and take responsibility for the energy you bring into each conversation.

Just keep being yourself and the �new you� will become more familiar to your loved ones.

In my own journey, my family members actually started to become curious and started asking

me questions, and now their minds are so much more open than they used to be. Remember,

it�s better to be misunderstood for being who you are than it is to hide yourself for

fear of what your family may think. It�s your life to live, not theirs.

3) Being mocked and ridiculed by society

While many people are on a conscious spiritual path in the world today, there are many who

remain in the dark about their true nature. Becoming more spiritually minded can expose

you to quite a bit of ridicule for being different. Being mocked, made fun of, and bullied is

just a part of being away in a world that is asleep. This is probably the most common

growing pain of spiritual ascension.

This why you often hear people making jokes about people who eat organic food, meditate,

lucid dream, carry gemstones, or talk about spiritual issues and philosophies. If you

were to talk about these things thousands of years ago, crowds would gather in the street

and people would be excited to share their experiences. Because of the emotional consequences

of not going along with the herd in our day and age, it can be difficult to even come

out of the closet with your spiritual beliefs.

The judgement that you may feel from being �out� can be uncomfortable initially,

but trust that as time progresses it will become less frequent and easier to deal with.

As we become more comfortable with our differences, we project that comfort out into the world,

and we receive less judgement as a result of our confidence. The universe stops sending

us experiences which hit on our weaknesses once we turn them into our strengths. Stay

authentic, sincere, and in integrity. And when people make fun of you when you are in

a space like that, it just makes them look mean and silly.

4) Career changes

When perspective changes, sometimes what worked before just isn�t a good fit for you anymore.

Suddenly, the job that you may have leaned on for many years feels empty, or even worse,

damaging to your soul. During a spiritual awakening, you may come to the realization

that your job is not acting as an extension of your soul.

With some, a career change may be intentional and planned out, but with others, it may come

in the form of being suddenly fired or laid off. When you are a vibrational mis-match

with how you are spending most of your hours during the week, it�s only a matter of time

before either you or your employer decide it is in everyone�s best interest if you

leave your job.

It can be very painful to have a sudden transition like this. But have faith that it happened

for a reason. Much more happiness and fulfillment lays ahead for you. Life is too short to spend

anything other than doing what makes your soul come alive.

Surrender to the universe, and it will carry you exactly where you need to be spiritually

as well as professionally.

5) Loneliness

Loneliness is a natural byproduct of spiritual ascension. Naturally, as our relationships,

jobs and lifestyles change, so will our ability to confide in the things we used to confide

in.

In times like these, it�s good to reach out to the spiritual community. Take a yoga

class or attend a meditation retreat. The universe will set you up with new framework

to support your new lifestyle, but you have to make an effort to create that for yourself

and meet the universe half way.

The good news here is that when you do find people on the same path, you can rest assured

that they will provide friendships and acquaintances that are genuine and uplifting, where as before

you may have been settling for some relationships that were fueled on competition and negativity.

You may notice you have less friends, but more of the right kind. An increase in quality,

and a decrease in quantity.

In the mean time, practice getting to you yourself. Start practicing meditation, and

learn to be comfortable with being on your own. Learning how to be alone with about being

lonely is essential to dealing with any sense of loss that has arose since you started pursuing

your new path.

Although finding your spiritual self can be a fulfilling and enlightening experience,

there will be some changes that will be challenging to adjust to. Not everyone will experience

all of these adjustments, but if any of these apply to you, just know you are not alone.

Be patient with the universe, and stay in integrity to the new version of yourself.

The rest will take care of itself.

If you are experiencing spiritual growing pains, realize that at the end of the day

they are simply signs that you are growing and evolving. All of the things that are listed

in this article are actually signs that you are on the right track.

So don�t think that you have done anything wrong or that you are making improper choices

by adopting a new lifestyle that seems to make people around you confused. Stay true

to yourself and in time, you will mature into a more comfortable and stable position. When

you align your emotions, thoughts, and intentions with bettering yourself and exploring your

true nature, the universe always conspires for you to give you the life you need.

Be patient, and trust the universe. In order to grow into new skin, you have to first shed

the old one.

6.13. Building a Global Community - Duration: 4:46.

The world is divided into 200 countries not because it's natural or because it's the best way to do it.

It's simply because that's the way civilization evolved.

First we had tribes.

Then little feudal territories.

Then empires that spread across the globe.

And finally countries, as those empires broke up and colonized people gained their independence.

But this international system of nations we have now isn't very functional anymore—

because many of the problems we need to confront are global.

Pollution and climate change are global.

Capitalism is a global system that we keep trying in vain to regulate on a national level.

Our information, communication, and transportation technologies transcend borders.

If we were designing our institutions from scratch, based on the realities of today, we wouldn't set it up this way.

We wouldn't get rid of nations, or take all their power away from them.

But we'd want to install some type of truly global institution, with the authority to deal with these global issues,

without having to get all 200 of these vain, self-interested, bickering nations to somehow agree on everything.

We're repeating the mistakes of feudal Europe or China, when all those feudal territories

were too divided to really thrive—or the Articles of Confederation in the United States,

when the states had too much power, and we had to write a new constitution with a stronger federal government.

But I don't think our national governments are going to correct this mistake on their own.

I think we're going to have to make them.

And the first step on that path is to really cultivate a global sense of community.

We aren't our nationalities.

We aren't our races or our genders or any other of those social or demographic categories

we use to divide ourselves into groups.

We're people.

We're 7.5 billion global citizens, living on a nondescript rock spinning in space.

We still have a lot of different, distinct cultural practices.

But it just doesn't make sense anymore to think of ourselves as separate.

We're just too interconnected.

There are only two reasons why we prefer to divide ourselves up into smaller groups,

instead of seeing ourselves as one big global community.

Either we want to simplify things, to make it easier to wrap our heads around this enormous mass of humanity.

Or we want to make our little tribe superior, so we can look down on and not worry about

the fate of billions of suffering people.

Either way, we're indulging in a fantasy that kills people, that justifies oppression,

that says certain people don't deserve basic human rights or liberties.

It's tough to find that balance between individuality and community, between independence and interdependence.

But I think it's clear that we're far too divided, far too concerned only with our

own narrow interests, instead of the good of the world.

There's only one way to fix it: start pushing the pendulum back the other way.

Toward community.

Toward cohesion.

Toward the good of the whole.

We shouldn't need a global catastrophe to tell us we need to think of ourselves as a global community.

But at the current rate…that's where we're heading.
