Luana Caldin, Unha quadrada. - Duration: 21:58.The little ones are light's
Just tidy up the same format,
Now let's go to BO
Customer: In 15 days I put on a boot.
Client: I went there for Americana.
Client: I put the boot there .. little time.
Customer: from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Customer: You need to see how it got.
Customer: Everything sore.
I could not wait to take off my boot, right?
Client: I could not wait to get home so I can withdraw.
Client: I put the sock to sleep because of the cold and it hurt the nail.
Why does the boot tighten a little more ..
I chopped it to thinner.
Where do you feel the most pain is outside?
Client: this does not sing.
It is tightly closed.
Take her out of the flesh.
Not to be hurting you all the time.
Is it well jammed right Luana?
This one is fine inside.
It's coming out.
Relieved?
Customer: It's enough to relieve Luana.
Relieved?
Do not you have that pressure anymore?
Now .. whenever you cut the nail .. cut it
Square and do not let it enter on these sides.
And we'll try ..
Fix it again ..
This one I'm going to remove all the part that is detached.
Customer: You can withdraw.
And so .. every time you wear closed shoes.
You will sanitize the shoes ..
Because? It's no use doing the treatment
Being that the footwear becomes contaminated.
So it's a palliative ... go take care of the foot .. do everything right ..
He puts the shoes on and he has fungus .. and he comes back again.
Then it will never improve.
Used the shoes so will wear the shoes.
Customer: Also.
After the bath is always good to throw some alcohol in the nail.
Alcohol will help in the evaporation of moisture.
Because if you wet your nail ...
The fungus likes a very humid and warm place.
Then it will proliferate.
And it will pass the antifungal twice a day.
Every day.
This clay that is under the nail.
That's what the fungus has eaten from keratin.
As the nail gets moist it will get this maceration.
As much as you wash, clean and sanitize.
We always leave the nail a little wetter.
Then you will dry the nail with paper towel ..
Toilet paper .. more never with the towel you use to dry the body.
Customer: Okay.
Aesthetically it does not look beautiful but the treatment is more effective.
Client: Then it looks good.
Beauty, we'll do it later.
Customer: Absolutely.
More is better.
Customer: There's another nail left.
Customer: Neither a base can pass right Luana?
Nothing ... nothing can happen.
Why the base too ..
She goes
Fix it on the nail .. then ... it will leave the nail hot the same way.
It's going to drown out the same way.
If you want to pass the others you can ... this is not it.
Customer: Right.
Are you hurting these sides?
It was ... just not this one ... you already cut the nail.
Client: And Luana .. if you cut your nail .. this side?
This one? It's not cool.
She is whitish like this ... but she is not cool.
There is the shape that the nail is getting.
Customer: Minutes.
This hook she's forming.
Did you see that on one side it closed well? Literally she made a hook.
The treatment with clay .. will remove the impurities that the fungus leaves.
And the oils .. will come with the treatment to kill the fungus.
You will do the hygiene of the shoes .. if you wear socks .. always change.
After the bath .. always play alcohol on the nails.
Alcohol evaporates from moisture.
Spend the antifungus twice a day ... every day.
Estimated time .. there is no way to know. Because it depends on your body and how it will react.
And if you do everything right ..
There is no way to state a time.
Usually the treatment.
For fungus it ... lasts more or less.
Six months to a year.
It may be a little more or a little less.
It depends a lot on your body .. how it will react to your treatment.
And do everything right .. it's no use starting and not doing it right.
The fungus treatment .. is a test of patience.
More doing right ... like it did not spread all over the nail.
It's faster.
And a little bit we're tuning her ..
It will not stay 100% like it was.
It will improve a lot.
Especially from this foot ... if you want to go through all the nails .. you can pass.

Once banned, Surfing makes a wave with young Cubans | Arriba Cuba - Duration: 8:17.(PLAYAS DEL ESTE, HAVANA, CUBA)
Here in Cuba
there are many new sports
that are not yet supported.
Support goes mainly to baseball or boxing
but extreme sports are not sanctioned.
They are considered only as recreational activities.
In Cuba this is considered a hobby.
We have worked hard to gain recognition
but so far we haven't been successful.
But we will keep fighting.
(THE CUBAN NEW WAVE: BATTLING THE SURF)
Many times we feel disheartened.
We've run into legal trouble.
"Surfing is not a sport, you can't compete."
"The government doesn't consider it an official sport."
But if you really love the sport,
you keep pushing and hoping that one day,
surfing in Cuba will get going.
We need our government to support surfing in Cuba
just like they have done with other sports.
I know things here go step by step,
but they should consider that we also have talent here,
and they should support it
so we can develop a Cuban champion quickly.
(DANAIL - CUBAN SURFER)
We have tried many times to approach I.N.D.E.R. -
the institution that governs sports in Cuba -
but it's been difficult.
They say they don't have enough money
to subsidise the sport and make it official.
Let me help you understand Cuban surfing.
One night I went camping with friends to a beach.
That night a policeman woke us up
and we were taken to the police station.
They wouldn't believe this is called "surfing".
They thought we were trying to go to the US
in our "nautical devices"
We had to explain that surfing is a sport,
that it is practised worldwide.
We wish for people in Cuba to realise that this is a sport.
We used to get in trouble with the authorities.
They thought we were trying to leave with our boards.
That has changed.
Now they see us more as athletes,
because they are getting used to seeing surfers at the beach
and they know what we are doing.
They no longer think we are trying to leave.
Since I was little I've always lived in Alamar.
The only entertainment here was coming to the beach.
I remember when I was 5 years old,
my father gave me a diving mask and a pair of fins.
It was the first time my head was underwater.
I think my passion comes from that moment
when I experienced this feeling.
I prefer being in the water than on land.
Something keeps me in here. I need to be in contact with it.
Such is my passion that
I work at the National Aquarium of Cuba
where I train sea mammals, dolphins and sea lions.
Here I develop my passion,
and I try to educate, to teach people
that the ocean needs to be protected.
This was my dream.
I wanted to be a marine biologist.
While kids interact with animals
we encourage them to look after the environment.
That's our duty.
The practice of surfing
encourages environmental awareness.
Surf is not only a sport. It's a lifestyle.
I might not be the best surfer...
..but I enjoy what I do, and I like teaching it to others.
I use this opportunity to continue educating,
not only about surfing,
but also about protecting the environment.
Sadly our environmental culture is very poor.
People don't respect the coastal areas and the beaches.
There is no environmental awareness.
So sometimes I ask the kids,
"Do you want to learn how to surf?
"OK, but first you have to learn to love the sea"
and they say, "Yes, yes, I love it.
"I'll do anything for you to teach me how to surf."
So I gather them
and we go to the beach to pick up garbage,
and they enjoy it,
because that's where we surf.
For Cuban surfers, the dream is
to participate at the Olympic Games.
Like judo, boxing or swimming,
surfing can also have a place there,
and bring back a medal for Cuba.
We hope that one day a Cuban
surfer will see their flag raised at the Olympic Games.
I'm 100% sure that it will happen,
perhaps not in 2020,
perhaps four years is not enough time for
the country to support surfing.
Maybe in 2024.
We will continue fighting to create a team.
That's our goal.
My daughter is 8 months old
but I've already put her on a surfboard
and we have surfed together.
The new generations will get it done.
I'm sure the doors will be open for her
because we are going to open them.
This fight can't last 100 years.
Impossible. Soon this will change
and when she grows up the doors will be open.
Things will be easier for her.
I'm sure of that.

How to Draw Buildings in 1-Point Perspective: Harbour Scene - Duration: 11:43.Hi, Tom here and welcome to this week's Circle Line Art School video: How to Draw a
Harbour view in One-Point Perspective: The first step is to draw a horizontal line
and then to draw a cross for the vanishing point on the right, next we can
draw a rectangle for the first house, make sure the horizon line goes through
the middle of the rectangle, in one-point perspective all parallel lines going
away from us will look like they meet at our vanishing point, now for the back of
the house we can just copy the vertical line from the front and use the same
angle for the front triangle of the roof for the back of the roof,
next we can draw a bigger rectangle behind for another house or maybe a warehouse
again we can add a triangle for the roof and use the same one-point vanishing
point to find the sides of this new warehouse,
we can repeat this process one more time for
another building behind the other two buildings all in one point perspective...
to make these buildings look like they are on a harbour, we need to make a path
around them using the vanishing point for the diagonal line and just
horizontal lines for the other parts of the path, to give the harbour wall a
thickness we just need to add some vertical lines at its corners, going
downwards, on the left here we could add a square in perspective, it will make the
harbour look more solid, I think, and it will be in front of the building, so this
cube will make the buildings look further away, because now we have
something in front of them, so visually it will push them back, make them look
like they're further away, next we can draw a water line the base of the
harbour wall,
next we can erase a few lines that we no longer need, for this drawing I'm using a
4b pencil on quite thick paper, as I think I might add some colour or maybe
even watercolour to the image at the end, on the right here we could draw a series
of three houses, the fronts of three houses,
we could add windows and doors to these fronts of houses, we're just doing the
fronts because we can't see the sides of these ones, so there's no perspective
needed, because one point perspective really is most useful for roads going
away from us and for sides of buildings and sides of things going away from us,
but if the shape isn't going away from us, but is that the same distance to us, then
it doesn't really have perspective, we don't need to use perspective...
as these are old buildings we could add some chimneys to them at this stage too...
next let's draw a small boat
I will use the vanishing point for the left-hand diagonal side of this boat and then just two parallel
lines and a point to make the whole boat
and then we just need to draw a copy of this shape to give it the reflection in
the water, using the vanishing point we could draw another similar shapes rowing
boat, this time going away from us over here, so it's two sides are going away
from us and they are in line with the building, so they're going towards our
vanishing point, just to make the drawing easy the back of the boat is just a
rectangle and the front just a point as we're looking straight at it,
now we can read the lines of the houses that we are drawing, read the lines down
to give an indication of their reflection in the water,
next on the left in this drawing we could draw two horizontal lines for the,
as it were, the other side of the harbour, in front of these lines we can draw a
larger boat, again as we're looking straight at this boat we don't need to
draw it in perspective, as the lines of it aren't going away from us,
now we can add some more reflections to the boats and the harbour,
we could add a cabin on the boat, I think I'll add two masts
to this boats, just vertical lines going up
behind the boat we could draw another warehouse, using the same one single
vanishing point for the side of the building,
we could add a wall on the left here and then one or two more houses around here,
again using the vanishing point for the sides of the building and the sides of
the roof, but any parts of the building that is looking straight on us, that just
stays a rectangle or a triangle...
next we could draw some people, just very simple indications of people
really, they're very far away, so we don't need to add any details...
I think I'll draw some ladders so that people can get from the harbour road to
the boats below...
now behind the harbour houses we could add some steep lines for the edges of
hills that surround the harbour, we could draw one on the left and then another
one long here on the right...
with just a few indications of rocks...
we could add a wider door here and we should add some more small windows at
this stage, using the vanishing point only if we're looking at the sides of
the windows or the sides of the doors,
if we're looking straight on at them they just need to be rectangles,
next we can add some tone, so using, I'm using a 4b pencil and I can start with
the darkest tone and shade that in,
and then I can add some mid-tone, sort of not very dark and not very light, somewhere in
the middle, and use that to create the sense of depth to the buildings by
putting it just on one side of the buildings, so it creates a sense of light
coming from one direction,
we could add more shading to the water and the reflections in the water, once
your drawing works all together, it looks sort of okay and it that well, then it's
finished, unless you want to push it more, so I think for my drawing I'll add some
colour on top of this drawing,
I'll use watercolour but you could use any colour material that you have for
this drawing, I'll start with blocking in the sky, not too strong a colour but just
something quite pale,
next I'll add some yellow and orange to some of the boats...
now I'll put a wet wash of watercolour onto the buildings and their reflections,
to finish this drawing I'll just paint some lines in the water of the harbour, to
indicate the water and the reflections, thank you very much for watching this
drawing, I hope you find these drawings useful for your own drawing, I post a new
drawing every Saturday, please subscribe to Circle Line Art School to keep up to
date, thank you for watching and see you next time!

How to sew invisible zipper on a dress - Duration: 15:01.Welcome to Sewing for a living tutorials where I share different sewing techniques and
how I like to make some of the most common sewing alterations and
repairments. In this video I am going to show you how to attach invisible zipper
to a dress that has no lining and no facings but does have a waistline seem
that you need to be careful to match when sewing. You are going to need the
invisible zipper foot, that has those two separate groves for both sides of the
invisible zipper. You are also going to need the regular zipper foot which you
are going to use for the transition between the zipper and the joining seam
below it. If you don't have an invisible zipper foot, you can use the regular
zipper foot for the whole project. You are also going to need the regular food
for the actual joining seam under the zipper. Here I have a dress with the
zipper already sewn. It has a seam at the waist that I need to be careful for. I
want to match the seam at both sides of the zipper and because I have no lining
or facing on this dress, here is how it is going to look on the inside. Here are
some more things I want to pay attention to. First, I don't want the zipper tape to
show over the top of the neckline. Second, I don't want too much of the zipper tape
showing and the zipper to be as invisible as possible. But I also don't
want the seam going too close and over the teeth, so that the zipper won't close.
Here is how to do it. I already have the neckline hemmed and the
seam allowance searged to clean the edges of the details. If you don't have a
serger, you can use some other overcasting seam or zigzag the edges for
more sophisticated look. Next, I need to determine the position of
the zipper. To place it right, I like to imagine the zipper already sewn, which
is the zipper and the dress face sides together. I'm going to open it because
that's how I'm going to sew it. Then, lay the zipper facing up and turn it over to
align the seam allowance with the zipper tape and the top stopper to the neckline.
For a girl's dress the zipper has to go approximately six inches or 15
centimeters under the waist in order to be functional. For a woman's dress, you
may go for eight inches or 20 centimeters.
I usually just eyeball it and go with the zipper length. To start, I'm going to
insert the invisible zipper foot. It has two separate grooves for each side of
the zipper. I will start with the right side first. I'm going to align the top of
the stopper with the top of the neckline and the edge of the zipper tape with the
edge of the back center seam allowance. The free end of the zipper tape is going
to stick out for now. Then, I'm going to put some pins to fix the zipper in place.
I sew at the right side first, so I'm going to insert the zipper coil into the
right groove of the invisible zipper foot. I'm going to lock my stitch at the
beginning.
Now, if you just sew the zipper like this, a bit of the zipper tape is going to be
visible on the face side. Tere is a trick to sew the zipper as if it is
really invisible. You need to flatten the zipper coil so that you sew as close
to the teeth as possible. I'm doing that with my fingers as I go. In order to sew
close on the right side, keep the needle centered. If you move it to the left you
are going to sew too far from the coil and the zipper tape will show on the
face side of the dress. If you find it hard to do this way
you should iron the zipper coil flat prior to sewing the zipper and go as
close as you can but be careful not to go over the coil because if you do, the
zipper won't close. I'm going to sew all the way down until I have at least
six inches or 15 centimeters of the zipper under the waist. My zipper is a
bit too long, so I'm not going to sew it all the way down. I lock the seam on this
side as well. I'm closing the zipper to see if I've sewn it nicely and I see
that I've sewn over the coil, so I need to unpick a bit at the top. Apart from
that, I like how the rest of the zipper turned out. Next, I need to attach the
zipper on the other side. This time I need to be more careful where I
position the zipper. First, I need both sides of the waist seam to match.
Second, I want to match the end of the seam on both sides as well. This way the
transition between the zipper and the center back seam would be easier to make.
I'm going to use a pencil to mark exactly where these points are on the
other side of the zipper.
Then, I'm going to transfer those marks to the wrong side of the zipper, which is
going to be on top when I saw.
I'm careful to match the marks on the zipper with the right side of the dress
and the top stoppers with the neckline. I also don't want to twist the zipper as I
attach it to the other side. Once again, I'm going to lay the zipper facing up
and turn it over to align with the seam allowance face sides together with the
dress, and pin it in place.
To sew as close as possible to the zipper teeth, sew the left side guiding
the coil into the left groove and move the needle to the left.
Flatten the zipper coil with your fingers and go all the way down until
you reach the second mark that shows where to stop sewing.
Reverse stitch a few times to lock the seam.
Flip the zipper in so that it stays inside the dress and zip it up to see
how you've done.
I like how I've matched the zipper at the waist and the neckline so I'm moving
on to make the bottom of the seam.
Align the fabric on both sides of the dress under the zipper.
I'm going to put a pin to keep them in place.
Then, use the standard zipper foot to make the transition between the center
back seam and the invisible zipper. I saw on the left side of the zipper foot and
with my needle positioned to the left so that I go as close to the zipper as I
can. Start from the bottom up at the same distance that you are going to leave for
seam allowance at the center back seam. Make sure to keep the zipper out of the
way and align the fabric so that you saw only through both layers of fabric.
Sew it up until both stitches intersect for at least three-eighths of an inch or one
centimeter.
Again, check on the face side to see if all the seams are aligned and the
transition between the zipper and the rest of the seam is smooth.
I like how mine turned out, so I'm going to continue with the rest of the seam.
Using the regular zipper foot, start a bit over the end of the transition seem
to intersect those two seams as well. And then, go all the way down to the hem.
Here is my invisible zipper almost done.
I need to do just one more thing since I don't have lining or facings on this
dress. I need to hide the free end of the zipper tape so it's not visible on the
face side. Just fold it in and sew over the neckline seam so you don't have
another seam that is visible on the face side. If you prefer you, can fold
the free end of the zipper tape under in the beginning and skip the step at the
end.
Here are my finished dresses. This is how the invisible zipper looks on the wrong
side and on the face side.
And here are my girls modeling them. I'll link to the pattern in the description
below if you are interested. I hope you like this video if so give it a like and
subscribe for more sewing and pattern drafting tutorials. Thank you for

Electric shock gives a awesome record while I was hanging from a Chin-Up Bar![ SURPRISE !!! ] - Duration: 5:37.Check the temperature, please.
Yes, Boss!
He dips his finger into the hot water to check the temperature.
It's too hot.
How hot is it? Aaaaah! Damn! It's hot!
Muscles are operated by electric signals sent from the brain.
If you send electricity directly to a muscle,
Even if the brain orders to the muscle to relax, an electric signal can be so strong that the muscle can't relax …
Then, the muscle will stay contracted.
Using this principle …
If a guy is hanging from a steel bar, and he gets to the point that his muscles just can't stand hanging there anymore, then let's flow some electricity to his muscles.
Well, he should just keep hanging there for the rest of his life, shouldn't he?
I did just such an experiment, before.
But the electric shock was too strong and I was knocked right off the bar.
Here is the video about that test.
Come on, how long can Kanta manage to hold on after the time limit?
Starting to time it ...
Oops, he fell down.
The record is … 0.2 seconds
OK, that's not it.
So, we'll apply a milder electric charge.
When my arms get too tired from hanging, then we'll let the electricity flow into my arms.
Let's see if I can hang here for the rest of my life.
Our "Secret strategy" for extending the record time …
This time, unlike last time, we'll use some hot water.
While I'm doing my best to keep hanging, I will ask my Support Guy (SP for short) here …
To gradually cool the hot water down.
That way, the longer I'm hanging …
The lower the temperature of the hot water will go.
So, this will keep my motivation to keep dangling from this bar as high as possible.
Alright, I can hang here forever (at least in my mind).
Let's start the experiment!
My SP's motivation is amazing!
OK, then, here I go!
Wow, this is hell.
① Getting a normal record
Let's start gathering the data.
Oh, dammit my feet go all the way to the bottom of the water!
I have to pull my legs up or else they touch the bottom.
Oh! My God! The pain! The pain!
Please hurry up and cool it down!
Cool it now, even just a little bit!
Puff! Puff! Puff!
Oooooo! Wait!!
Puff! Puff!
Oooooo!! Quick !!
Cool it down some more!
Puff! Puff! Puff!
It's too hard!
I am hanging on with everything I've got.
I really am able to stand it. I'm awesome.
Ow! Ow! Ow!
Record is 1:08 seconds
Don't push me into the water!! 12:02:27 AM:15 12:02:30 AM:28 Let's clear our minds and try to start over.
By the way, what kind of a record do you suppose an ordinary guy would set?
Now, I am about to verify the data concerning how long an ordinary guy can maintain a hanging posture.
Ooooops!!
1,2、
I'm your SP, I'm your SP!
Aaaaah!!!
This ordinary guy's record is 28 seconds
Alright, let's beat this record by applying electricity! My SP doesn't want to do it one bit.
Ready!
"Start!"
My SP really wants to do this part.
Ai! Ai! Ai!
Ai!
Muscles hurt!
Muscles hurt!
Hey, cool it down, quick.
Over 1 minute!!!
Hurry, hurry.
Puff! Puff! Puff!
I'm going to lose it!
Losing it! That's it!
Electric switch.
It hurts!
It's too strong, too strong.
H U R T S!
Quick!!
Please hurry up and cool it down!
Please hurry up and cool it down!
Oh, it hurts; it hurts.
It hurts.
My muscles are cramping up. My muscles are cramping up.
Pain
Pain
Pain
Turn off the electricity, PLEASE!
Turns it off, PLEASE!
See how great I am!
Oh, hell!
Record is 2:14 seconds
Hot! Hot! Hot! 12:04:44 AM:00 12:04:44 AM:28 Yeah, it's painful.
Even the floor is hot …
You!!
I can see that you tried to do the right thing.
But, the bath hasn't cooled off at all.
The bathtub is too big.
It is impossible to do this experiment with a human subject.
Should I start to siphon out the water!
Yes!
Hack! Hack!
OK!
I don't know how I got into that position after my hands stopped working.
The first I knew about it, I was already upside down.

Jungian Psychology - The Persona - Carl Jung - Duration: 22:55.hi this is emerald and welcome to the diamond net and today I'm going to be
talking to you about the persona in the Jungian psychological model so the
persona is part of the Jungian psychological model and it's the aspect
of that model that's concerned with how we present ourselves to the world so
it's basically the social mask that we put on in order to fulfill particular
roles within a society and we may have different facets of our persona that we
use at different times so for example our persona may be different around our
family as compared to how it is around our friends or it might be different
from how it is at work and this is quite natural because essentially what the
persona is is a tool it's a tool for being able to function within a social
matrix and it's the face that we show to the world it's the selective lens for
what we allow other people to see about us and in fact this is how other people
come to know us is through our persona now despite the fact that the persona is
so elementary to our functioning in the social matrix and how other people come
to know us it's really a drop in the gallon bucket when it comes to the
entire psyche in fact it is the most superficial layer of the Jungian
psychological model now a lot of people don't realize that the persona is
surface level and they think that they are their persona I'll get into that a
little bit later but I think in order to show the surface level nature of the
persona we as modern people have a really useful metaphor that we can look
at so if we look at let's say a social media profile clearly we have a lot of
different things that we can choose on that profile as a way to present
ourselves to others on the Internet you know so we can fill out our about Me
section and we can say oh I'm this person here and we can show our pictures
and we can show what's going on in our lives by showing people pictures we can
choose what we post up on Facebook
and that's essentially what you're doing when you're creating your
persona you're putting on this mask for the world to see so that you know people
can come to know you as this particular person in this particular identity but
most people would not make the mistake of actually conflating themselves with
their Facebook profile you know that would be a little bit silly to do but a
lot of times people do conflate themselves with their persona that
they've chosen here so in order to really understand what the persona is
and how not to over identify with it we have like three main things that we have
to know number one the persona is not the self it is just one small aspect of
the self the second thing is that the persona is not fixed it's not something
that you were just given at birth and there it is that's your persona you had
to actively construct your persona and so you can always change your persona to
anything you want really the sky is the limit with it and the third thing is
that the persona is not the ego now it's quite common for these two things to get
mixed up because they do have sort of a similar feel to them and they're used in
similar ways but really what the persona is is your social mask it's how you
present yourself externally for functioning in the world whereas the ego
is more internal it's a layer deeper so the ego is everything that you believe
yourself to be and even though it is a rather small area of the psyche compared
to the entire rest of the psyche you know it's usually more expansive than
the persona usually there's more things that you identify with than what you
actually present to the world now having said that for most people the persona is
heavily informed by the ego so we tend to create our social masks in congruence
with the ego structure now if someone has a weak or underdeveloped ego they
may make the mistake of only identifying with their persona so the persona and
the ego would essentially be the same thing but this is very unhealthy because
the persona is by its very nature very superficial and narrow so if you narrow
your ego down to the level of persona it creates a lot of problems now this
pattern of identifying only with the persona tends to happen what I've
noticed anyway is in young teenagers so they may come to be identified with a
particular style of music or a particular clique of some kind and they
may try to present themselves in a way that's congruent to
that and they don't want anything else that contradicts what that is so for
example if there's a kid who gets really really into rap music and they might
think oh well I don't listen to any other kind of music and I'm only going
to dress this way and I'm only gonna talk this way and you know I live the
hard life and that's the only way that I am and anything that basically falls out
of that range of being a rapper you know is not going to be acceptable for them
to show in their persona and perhaps not even acceptable for them to accept as
part of their ego so that can be a problem now as I said this is an
outgrowth of underdeveloped ego you know so it's makes sense that a
lot of teenagers do that because teenagers are just constructing their
identity so they essentially like take these templates in the form of these
different styles of music or a different type of clique and they sort of use it
as their clay you know that they can mold now the problem is when they don't
actually mold it and they just want to take it like straight as it is and only
be that you know but it can actually be a decent template for building up the
personality it's quite natural for teenagers to do that and usually by the
age of about fifteen or sixteen the person is starting to get a bit more of
a refined personality around that basic idea so even if let's say somebody
really identified with rock music and you know that was all they were about
when they were 13 14 usually when they're 15 they start to read some
nuance into that personality because they're building up in more complex ways
now having said that the majority of adults still somewhat believe that they
are their persona but they're more likely to see it as just one aspect of
themselves so they're more likely to realize that they aren't just the way
they come off to people know as I said before the ego and the persona are
usually pretty congruent with one another but there can be some
incongruences let's say if a person has a trait that they know or they believe
that society won't accept in them or they know their friends and family won't
accept in them so for example if a person
was gay let's say 50 years ago you know there can be some very real social
consequences and so a person even if they knew that they were gay and it was
part of their ego they might choose to omit that from their persona so it would
be kind of like a minor repression now if that person who had omitted that
trait from their persona also had a lot of shame relative to being gay or
perhaps a lot of judgments about other people being gay you know they may not
even realize it themselves in which case you know the knowledge that they're gay
maybe just repressed down to the shadow so they would genuinely not know it this
is where repression happens like a full-blown repression so that's the
difference between lack of expression so lack of allowing a trait into the
persona and an actual full-blown repression now of course not expressing
a particular trait in the persona is not ideal but it's not quite the same thing
as going unconscious to that trait now in this next part of the video I'm going
to go over 7 different problems that can be experienced with regard to the
persona so the first one is not creating a persona at all you know so essentially
what the persona is is it's a tool for functioning in society so if a person
neglects to create a persona or has an underdeveloped persona what they're
gonna find is that they're not able to adapt very well socially
because this is how people come to know them if they don't really have an idea
of how they're coming off to people or what their personality is that other
people see they're not going to be able to function as effectively in a
social way all right the second persona problem is constructing your persona in
such a way that it doesn't allow for the expression of the full depth and breadth
of your personality so in another one of my videos I spoke about how people have
a preconditioned personality a lot of times people will think that a person's
personality is just a conglomeration of different social constructs but this
actually isn't true there's something that's there even before society
enacts itself upon you and you're not just a blank slate and so if you construct a
persona doesn't allow that natural personality
to come out then you're going to run into some issues all right the third
persona issue is if someone has a persona that's too narrow and is only
identified with one or a few different social roles so for example if somebody
is a doctor and that's all they are they don't have any interest outside of being
a doctor and that's what they identify as and I think a really good example of
this would be in the movie Black Swan where the main character that's played
by Natalie Portman you know she's so obsessed with being a dancer like that's
her whole entire life like she never really does anything else other than
that her whole entire life is basically this huge sacrifice for dance and she
becomes very neurotic as a result and there's this one scene when she's
meeting this guy at this bar and you know she can't really loosen up and he
and he asked her hey you know who are you and she goes I'm a dancer you know
and that was the first thing that she said you know she didn't go straight to
oh my name is this or oh I you know my name is this and I like to do that it
was immediately I'm a dancer and her identity her persona essentially
eclipsed her whole entire personality another movie example of this would be
in the movie Requiem for a Dream where the character that's played by Ellen
Bernstein she's basically this old mother kind of figure where you know see
essentially she lives alone you know her son hardly ever comes visit her
her husband passed away years ago and you could tell that the only things
that she ever identified herself with were being a wife and being a mother and
I think beauty is also part of her past identification but because
she's in a sense like past her prime in that way in the movie she has a lot of
like fantasies about going back and you know like having her husband Seymour
there and being the mom and you know maybe the son's gonna have some kids and
you know she's gonna wear a red dress and be beautiful again and she gets into
like this fantasy of trying to be the way that things were in
the past and have that persona that
she's already outgrown and so because these are very narrow and were actually
very time sensitive the way that she was identifying now she's stuck
with not really having a persona which goes back to that very first problem
that I mentioned of not having a persona so she lost her ability to really
function in society and she ends up in a lot of really negative situations in the
movie as a result and this example brings me to problem number four of the
persona is making something that you'll lose a core aspect of your persona so
for example youth is something that everyone will lose and so if you
identify strongly with your youth you know you're going to have a really
really hard time as you get older because essentially if your main core
identification is with youth and all of your other identifications stem off of
that identification what will happen is that you'll slowly start losing your
ability to have a persona as you get older and life will sort of feel like
it's passing you by because you won't be able to function as well in society now
this is a huge risk in our society because most of the people they depict
in the media like in movies that type of thing most of the protagonists of
stories and most of the characters that you're meant to identify with are young
people and so because of this because of the lack of representation of older
people in movies it becomes difficult for someone to create a
persona from that and so a lot of older people tend to get more and more
disconnected from society because they just don't know how it is they can fit
in in a way that they want to be
alright problem number four is conflating the
persona with the ego I spoke about this before so somebody with an
underdeveloped ego may come to identify only with their persona
so anything that falls outside of the persona they don't consider it to be an aspect of themselves
alright problem number six with the persona is it was someone's persona is too rigid because this basically blocks
off a lot of their natural drives and a lot of their natural personality
doesn't come through now this rigid persona happens when somebody tries way
too hard to come off a particular way or be seen in a particular light so for
example teenagers are also like notorious for this mostly because they
tend to conflate the persona and the ego and I was no exception to this
so for example when I was a teenager I was heavily identified with like goth type of stuff
so I didn't want to ever be seen in anything that was other than that like the way that I like to dress
so if I were to be seen in let's say I don't know the color blue or pink or something like that
well that would be you know an issue for mebecause I wanted my persona to be just a particular way
I wanted to be perceived by others in just the right way
and anything that fell outside of that I didn't want
now another example that I see really really common is that
there are a lot of guys who are trying to be like alpha males
and the problem with this is that they get really stuck in that persona
or they can get really stuck in that persona
so they may be afraid to show signs of vulnerability
you know might be afraid to display their emotions
so this can be a problem because that can lead to a persona that's too rigid
all right the very last persona issue that I want to bring up is something called negative restoration
so this is where somebody basically ends up trying to in a sense resurrect a persona that they used to use
but it's no longer relevant to them
now this usually happens after some form of trauma or upheaval
where they get really afraid to behave in the way that they're behaving and coming off the way they're coming off
so they may revert to an old ego structure all right
so that's it for the issues that I'm going to go over in the video
and these seven issues that I brought up are by no means an exhaustive list
but this gives you an idea of what can be some common things to watch out for when you're creating your persona
but when you're consciously creating your persona it helps to know what
having a healthy persona entails
so there are three main qualities that constitute a healthy persona
the first is that it's flexible so it can adapt to many different types of situations
allowing you to fit in in many different social environments
the second is that it's transparent
that means that mask is see-through and allows whatever happens to be inside to come out within reason
so it allows you to express more of the full depth and breadth of your personality
the third is that it'sheld at a distance and recognized as a tool
as opposed to like some inextricable part of yourself
so you can see it as something that you're using to interface with the world
but it doesn't really mean all that much about yourself
all right so here are some steps and some things to keep in mind for creating a healthy persona
so the first step is to realize that your persona is 100% created by you
so they can either be consciously created or unconsciously created
and in knowing this you should be able to feel at ease with being able to create whatever persona
you feel is going to best allow you to express yourself
oftentimes people will feel held back by the idea that whatever persona they have
is just the one they're stuck with and that any change to that would be dishonest
but really when it comes to persona creation the sky is the limit
and as long as you're making it fairly congruent with your internal experience
and it's not a dishonest thing
all right once you realize this about the persona then you can go on to the second step
where you decide to consciously create your persona
and to decide to create it in whichever way you think is going to best serve you
so I think the best way to think about this is in relation to like
think of yourself as an artist and your persona as your work of art
so that way you can feel like you can create it any which way that you want
and it'll be authentic to you
and I would recommend approaching this in the same way
that children approach the game of make-believe
so children in order to prepare themselves for adult life
they might pretend to be pirates in play or they might pretend to be a princess up in a castle
or some adventurer of some kind
and basically this gets them used to playing some kind of social role
it'sthem trying on four different personas albeit very fantastical personas
butthis is what gears them up for being able to create an actual persona
once they become a teenager or maybe even a older child
so I recommend approaching your persona creation in the same way
so a child when they're pretending to be a pirate or they're pretending to be a princess
they don't literally believe themselves to be those things they're just enjoying wearing that social mask for a while
and then they can put it down and they can go back and they can eat dinner with their family as their usual self
but theproblem with adults is that we get so into the social mask that we are putting on
that we actually believe ourselves to be that social mask
so if we grow up and we decide that we're gonna be a doctor
we think oh I am the doctor as opposed to realizing that's the social mask that we're wearing
so treat it a lot like a child would play their game of make-believe
do it with a certain degree of detachment but always with a lot of joy
and a lot of effort put into it just like a child would put in
so give yourself permission to play make-believea little bit to find out what it is that
you want out of your persona
all right once you've started to create your persona a little bit
the next thing that you want to do is start to let go of things within your current persona thatare no longer serving you
if something is keeping you from being your full self
or expressing in some way that you'd like to be able to express yourself
you can actually decide not to do that anymore and switch that aspect of your persona out with
some other aspect that's going to allow you to express yourself better
so you're not married to your persona
and if your persona is making it difficult also for you to adapt in particular situations
that means it's not really doing its job properly
and so you could benefit from switching some things out
and just letting go of things that are just no longer really doing anything positive for you
alright so step number four is that once you've started creating your persona
and once you've started to let go of things that no longer serve you
it should become quite clear that your persona is just something that you've created
and in doing so this will allow you to go a bit deeper
and to realizethings about yourself that you may not have known
so you can really use this as a springboard into inner work
and I highly recommend you do so because it will help you even more so go toward the things that you want
and it will help you create the persona that you want
so you might try to do things like shadow work and meditation
and basically anything that's going to allow your consciousness to travel beyond the confines of your ego
all right so while you're creating your persona the fifth and final step is
to maintain a certain level of distance and detachment from your persona
so remember your persona is not the full extent of yourself
the persona is only a tool that can either be picked up or set down whenever it's not useful
and the persona is always 100% created so it is an invention of the mind
so my recommendation for keeping distance is to create the persona
inmuch the same way that Buddhist monks create a Mandala out of sand
so basically they spend a ton of time just working on creating beautiful mandalas out of sand
and at the very end they wipe it away
and essentially that's the way the persona is
you spend a long time creating the persona and having it through life
and at the end of life you'll have to wipe it away anyway
but just know that it was never real in the first place
it was always just dust in the wind
and so always keep a level of detachment
otherwise you can get very attached to something that isn't real or permanent
but just because something isn't real or substantial doesn't mean that it doesn't have practical function out here in the world
it is absolutely core to your ability to function in the social matrix to have a persona
so what I recommend is just enjoy the process ofcreating your persona
and always make it in such a way that it makes life easier for you
anyway that's all I have for now

The HORI D-Pad Joy-Con: A Plus With Minuses - Duration: 8:37.You'd think that for a company that pioneered the plus-shaped directional pad back in 1982,
it'd be easy for Nintendo to provide a D-Pad solution for the Switch that satisfies everybody,
but nope.
The Joy-Con have separated directional buttons to accommodate for horizontal use but makes
it inconvenient to rock between multiple directions.
The Pro Controller, while having a passable D-Pad, has seen minor issues with it during its initial run,
with complaints about it mis-registering inputs or just feeling too stiff.
So, multiple third-party solutions have come up to address this problem.
HORI, a well-known manufacturer of video game accessories has released multiple controllers
such as the Pokkén Tournament controller that features a D-Pad front and center, and
a wired controller with directional buttons you can swap for a D-Pad.
And of course you have 8BitDo's wireless retro controllers with old-school D-Pads and more.
But most of these are simply wired controllers for use in TV or tabletop mode, and many people
have been clamoring for a Joy-Con with a proper D-Pad.
Well, HORI has finally stepped up and answered your prayers with:
the HORI D-Pad Controller for Nintendo Switch!
But several terms and conditions may apply.
So yeah, this thing received a bit of a mixed response when it was first announced, so it
made me much more interested to pick one up and review it, just to see whether the positives
outweigh the negatives or vice versa.
#NotAFreeProduct.
So, without further ado, it's time to check out this thing's Pros and Cons
oh right I already used this joke, um, sorry.
Right off the bat, the packaging is fairly simple.
I like how they gave the D-Pad a bit of a protrusion and gloss on it just to emphasize
its existence.
It's also interesting to note that the packaging specifically mentions the Arcade Archives
series, which might be a hint to what audience the controller is specifically targeting.
Out of the box, you got an instruction manual that's in multiple languages including English,
and the controller itself.
I like this deep blue color, it's a shame that as of this video this is the only Joy-Con
with that color.
Speaking of Joy-Con, notice that throughout all of the packaging material this is never
specifically referred to as a Joy-Con.
Instead, this is officially called the D-Pad Controller, probably to prevent people from
thinking this is a regular Joy-Con and using it with other Joy-Con accessories, when this
is for handheld mode only.
Basically, this thing may look like a regular Joy-Con at first glance but technically it's
just a controller that looks like one, as there are quite a few differences when comparing
them to the regular Joy-Cons aside from the obvious ones.
First of all, its size is slightly different than the regular Joy-Cons.
By comparing official size measurements for the two, the D-Pad Joy-Con is about 2mm longer,
1mm wider and 0.5mm thicker.
While it doesn't really mean much in the grand scheme of things, this means that the
D-Pad Joy-Con will not fit into the Joy-Con Grip.
Trust me, I've tried.
You CAN fit the Joy-Con Strap on it though.
I dunno why you would ever want to do that since it's useless
but I tried it anyway for science.
By the way, this thing is really light.
Alright, onto the buttons.
To my surprise, besides the D-Pad, most of the buttons feel a bit different from the
regular Joy-Cons as well.
The clickable analog stick and the ZL button are the ones that felt pretty much the same
to me, but the L button protrudes out of the Joy-Con more and is much more clicky, while
the Minus and Capture buttons are actually mushy rubber buttons.
It's kind of a weird design choice but it doesn't heavily affect control that much,
unless you personally prefer clickier buttons.
Also, the Joy-Con release button on the back now protrudes out, presumably for easier access,
but releasing Joy-Con is no longer something I have trouble with after spending so much
time with the Switch.
And now onto the star of the show, the D-Pad.
In general, it feels great.
It's got a nice matte finish and while the inputs are softer than the clicky directional
buttons of the regular Joy-Con, they're still pretty tactile.
It brings to my mind the D-Pads on the Wii U controllers, and I assume it's of a similar
build as the D-Pads on HORI's other controllers.
Before we actually give it a try, though, I want to point out the fact that they actually
modeled in all the stuff on the Joy-Con rail including the shoulder buttons and player
lights, but they're just for show and you can't interact with them at all.
It's completely unnecessary but kinda hilarious.
Once you connect the D-Pad Joy-Con to the Switch you start to see the interesting differences
in functionality.
The Switch doesn't play any sort of sound for connecting and disconnecting the Joy-Con,
and its color on the Controllers screen is gray instead of deep blue,
which is a very minor shame.
But functionally, everything works as well as you'd expect it to, material differences aside.
The D-Pad has worked fine in most of the 2D platformers and puzzle games I've tested
it with, and doesn't feel as stiff as the Pro Controller's D-Pad.
I mean, if a product whose sole selling point is having a D-Pad doesn't actually have
a good D-Pad then I would've been worried, but the HORI D-Pad Joy-Con passes the test
in my opinion.
Even if you're using it to play a regular 3D game, it still feels nearly identical to
using the regular Joy-Con.
It's when you take a look at the other caveats that come with the thing that some worries
start popping up.
For one, as I mentioned, this Joy-Con does not support any wireless functionality, and
can only be used in Handheld Mode.
Secondly, it does not have support for HD Rumble and motion controls.
This might sound really bad, but I found out during actual gameplay that the right Joy-Con
picks up the slack in most games.
The HD Rumble effects are definitely not as pronounced has having both Joy-Cons rumble
but overall, for handheld use, this isn't a huge loss in hindsight.
And there's another thing I have to point out: since the D-Pad Joy-Con doesn't have
wireless functionality, it does not have a battery at all.
Instead, it receives power through the Switch itself, which makes normal sense until, as
of this video, HORI has discovered a bug in which the controller will continue draining
the Switch's battery even in Sleep Mode.
I put this to the test by leaving the Joy-Con on the Switch in Sleep Mode for roughly two
hours, and the battery level dropped from 99% to 86%, while with the regular Joy-Con,
the Switch only loses around 2-3% of battery in a couple of hours.
So, battery drainage is a real issue to look out for, and HORI has advised users to keep
the D-Pad Joy-Con disconnected while not in use while they look for a solution, presumably
through a system update or something.
Now with all these changes, a functional D-Pad, and quite a list of downsides, do I think
the HORI D-Pad Joy-Con is worth it?
Well, I'm gonna have to go with the clichéd answer of 'it depends'.
First of all, it's pretty affordable for a Joy-Con-like controller at 2678 yen or roughly
25 USD, which is about half of what a single regular Joy-Con costs.
Also, in terms of handheld mode usage, this thing works fine.
The lack of HD Rumble and motion controls feel like a more reasonable tradeoff when
you consider that the right Joy-Con does most of it fine.
It's not as jarring a change as you might believe.
For people who're looking into a D-Pad solution for handheld mode instead of lugging around
a controller, the D-Pad Joy-Con does its job.
While you shouldn't expect it to serve as a permanent replacement for your normal Joy-Con,
which may make most people disappointed, the fact that it doesn't wirelessly connect
and is extremely light makes it much easier for it to just be carried on the go and swapped
out with the regular Joy-Con if needed, which I feel is what HORI is truly aiming for by
making these tradeoffs.
So overall, if you're looking for a regular wireless Joy-Con with a D-Pad that you can
play ARMS with, you'll definitely be disappointed, but if you're a D-Pad aficionado and just
want to have access to one in handheld mode, then this is an affordable solution!
Some weird build changes aside, this still provides pretty much all the functionality
you need, with a decent D-Pad to compensate for what is basically only a less intense
rumble effect.
Just keep in mind that as of this video the D-Pad Joy-Con is still Japan-exclusive so
you'll have to import it if you don't live there.
Wait, timeout!
Hey, uh, post-editing AK here.
As of this moment right now, the D-Pad Joy-Con has been announced for a Western release
in September for 25 USD.
It comes in either a Zelda Breath of the Wild or Mario design,
so that's pretty neat I guess,
but remember all the shortcomings of the thing still apply here.
Alright, I'm out.
Anyway, those are my thoughts, but when it comes to the responsiveness or feeling of
buttons, these thoughts are always subjective, so when it officially launches on July 31st
and you get your hands on one, let me and others know what you think in the comments below!
And that's it!
A nice little third-party Joy-Con added to my collection.
I dunno, what could go wrong?
Guys I put it in my Labo Joy-Con holder and now it's stuck and I can't get it out
