Become a Fearless Learner: The 5 Things You Need to STOP Telling Yourself - Duration: 7:39.
Hi! This is Cedric for MosaLingua. I hope you're doing well!
Today's video is about
the frustrations we all face when learning a language. You're not alone!
But there are a few mindsets you need to get rid of before you can become a fearless
and successful learner.
Before I go any further, don't forget to subscribe to our
channel for more language learning tips.
Learning a language is a journey. Don't
expect to follow a straight and smooth path to success. You will encounter ups
and downs, and sometimes even bumpy roads. This is why you have to be prepared to
face some frustrations when things don't go your way.
These frustration can be a
real problem sometimes, and some learners even give up because of them. So it is
important to know them and to anticipate them. Here are the most common complaints
you'll hear a language learner say and that you should remove from your vocabulary.
"I am not making any progress"
You took the plunge and you started to
learn a language. Fast forward to a few months later, and you are not motivated
any longer because you don't feel that you have improved at all.
Consequence: you are not motivated
and you want to give up.
Cause: most probably, your goal was to
"learn this language" which is very vague. How can you accurately measure your
progress if you're not able to compare your skills with a concrete goal?
This is why it is important to define a clear and precise goal at the beginning so
that you can actually compare your current situation with both your
starting point and your target point. It is crucial to take a step back and
realize how much progress you've achieved every once in a while. But this
will make a lot more sense if your goal is clearly defined. To know 1000
words in 3 months, is for example easy to track. To speak the
language in three months is way too vague.
"I feel like I keep on forgetting everything..."
You will complain about this one when you are practicing and you notice
that you have forgotten quite a few things compared to last time you
practiced. Consequence: you are not motivated and you want to give up.
Of course we all have bad days sometimes. You will have some days when you'll be
awesome, and some other when you'll feel you can't say or understand a single thing.
Depending on your mood or your physical or mental condition, you might experience
times when you are confused, even if you understood the topic perfectly just the
day before. However this might also occurs when your practice sessions are
not regular enough. Your memory will not be stimulated enough of a time and you
will face difficulties repeating what you've learned. Again, focus on regularity,
even if this means less work. Too much of it and you may lose your motivation over time.
"I can't find the right word when I want to speak"
You eventually found an
opportunity to speak after all this time learning. And... you're not even able to say
a single thing. So all that work for... nothing?
Consequence: you are not
motivated and you want to give up.
Cause: Theory and practice are two different things.
You can learn as many words as you want, and practice a language for
hours on your own but if you don't practice with a real person in front of
you, all this work won't count for me. It's like reading about swimming and
actually swimming, totally different experiences! If you want to get rid of
this feeling, you need to speak as soon as possible when you start to learn
language. Get a language partner online and start slowly. You will gradually feel
more comfortable as you develop a habit of speaking in a different language.
Check out this video about online languages exchanges if you want to know more.
"Natives don't understand when I try to speak"
The situation is similar to the
previous one, it's just you don't have a problem to express yourself. It's rather
the person in front of you who has question marks in their eyes. The native
don't understands you even if you repeat what you sayd slowly.
Consequence: you are not motivated and you want to give up.
Pronunciation is usually overlooked when
learning a language. Traditional methods don't focus much on the topic and you
tend to guess pronunciation from reading rather than from hearing.
That's exactly how you develop bad pronunciation habits. This is why it's
important to check your pronunciation of words by comparing it with that of a
native. You might encounter new sounds that are not familiar to you because
they don't exist in your mother tongue. It is important to practice these as
soon as possible in the learning process;
"This grammar is crazy! I will never wrap my head around it"
So you decided to dig deeper in the grammar
of the language you are studying and started reading a book and doing some
exercises. Two days later, you haven't understood much more and you have a bad
headache. Consequence: you are not motivated and you want to give up.
Cause: grammar is one of the most technical parts of a language. Again, this is a case
of theory versus practice. Grammar is the theory on how to speak and write
correctly. The thing is you are going to make mistakes when you will be
practicing, a lot. That's why memorizing a lot of
complicated rules won't help at the beginning of your studies. It's better to
practice by listening and repeating and to consult grammar rules when it's
really necessary. You will actually pick up on quite a bit of grammar as you
practice without even knowing it. So don't worry too much at the beginning if
it looks scary to you. Yes I'm looking at you, German grammar! Like I said I'm
facing a lot of frustration about German grammar at the moment. What about you?
Are you experiencing any frustration related to language learning? Let's talk about it
in the comments and until then, have a good one and happy learning!

Suzumiya Haruhi no Tsuisou - 361: It's Happening! The Play Opens (Part 202) - Duration: 2:18.
With readthroughs and sound checks, the time went by in a flash before it was 10:00, the planned time of the performance.
Asakura, Taniguchi and a handful of others were on stage reciting from the script. Kunikida and I kept an eye on things from backstage.
I hoped things would go right this time, but of course it was still the same.
Ophelia: "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance."
Laertes: "Pray you, love, remember..."
Taniguchi: ... Ack, eh!?
It seems that it's fate for Taniguchi to screw up this line.
Taniguchi: Ah, eh, uh...
Taniguchi was clearly flustered. Calm down, Taniguchi. Please, just shut your mouth!
Asakura was, of course, the one to salvage the situation.
Ophelia: "... Indeed, good sir, you are versed in the language of flowers. Ufufu, there's fennel for you, and columbines. There's rue for you, and there's a daisy."
Kunikida: That's our Asakura, she covered pretty well with that adlib.
Kyon: Taniguchi, just keep going. And make sure you read your own lines.
Taniguchi: R-right... "His means of death, his obscure funeral— Cry to be heard as 'twere from heaven to earth, that I must call 't in question!"
And so, with actors spouting the wrong lines, people playing the wrong musical cues and various other mistakes, our digest version of Hamlet came to an end.
However–
The only ones sitting in the audience were Haruhi, Koizumi and several of my other classmates.
Haruhi: What's with the stupid face?
Kyon: I'm just surprised you actually came.
Haruhi: I was hoping to get a chance to laugh at you on stage, but you didn't appear.
Kyon: I was working backstage.
Koizumi: It was quite an interesting play.
Kyon: I don't need your sarcastic compliments.
Though I knew Koizumi was being honest, the words came from my mouth anyway. However many times I experience it, there's nothing to be done about the small turnout.
Koizumi: There's no sarcasm at all. I'm being quite honest. For something with less than a full day of preparation, it came out incredibly well.
Haruhi: He's right. It wasn't too bad. You managed to cover all the main points of Hamlet. Some of the acting left a lot to be desired though.
Haruhi: Since you've gone to all this effort, why not do another show? You've got the content and concept down well, right? Now you just need to publicise the event a little so you get more viewers.
Geez, it's quite the irritating mystery how Haruhi's words always manage to get me riled up.
But I'm always glad to hear it. If I can keep hearing these things from her, maybe being stuck in this loop isn't so bad, though it's probably inappropriate to think so.

Shooting Concert with Leica M10 - Duration: 2:04.
Hello everyone. I am shooting a concert tonight
Thai artists, Kratae & Kratai R Siam in Melbourne.
Organised by Smile Magic Media
After shooting with my new camera for a month, it's time for a real world test.
Staff pass is supported by Owen from DekAus Melbourne.
I'm behind the stage.
Trying to capture the artist before concert.
It is a very challenging shooting situation.
Low and constantly changing light, and manual focusing
For example, this shot has a good amount of light.
now the light has gone.
I just keep shooting (as nothing I can do).
Then trying to recover it in post editing, it is already at ISO10,000 with 1 stop push.
I walked behind the stage and saw a gap that can shoot through.
I felt that I was a sniper.
I noticed that the artist didn't move in and out that much
so I didn't need to concern much about focusing.
I can keep snapping.
I walk around to see other staff behind the scene.
I notice that the background is interesting.
My apologies that I forgot to turn on my GoPro when I took the actual shot.
I continue wandering around the audience.
It wasn't that crowded so I had a bit of room to move around.
After a while, I'm getting used to the light and it is quite constant,
so I can concentrate on focusing and capturing the action.
This is Kris, Kratae's brother.
waiting for his turn.
I saw that the light was pretty good, so I took a few snaps.
If you ask me what is a different to DSLR?
I would say mainly it is about focussing, which you have to do it manually.
Viewfinder is much brighter, and everything is in focus (rangefinder).
These make me feel that I am closer to the subject compare to DSLR.
This is my experience with rangefinder camera in action (after one month).
Let me know if you have any question or comment.
Thanks for watching

TSUNDERE, YANDERE: What's the difference? - Duration: 5:25.
While reading a manga o watching an anime have you ever seen a YANDERE or TSUNDERE character?
let's find out in this video
Yandere is a Japanese term that indicates a stereotype of character
that apparently looks sweet but that is obsessed by the person to whom he turns his attention
often of love kind
a character capable of brutal and violent jealousy
the word YANDERE is the combination of the words YANDERU + DERU DERU
YANDERU can be translated as sick
while DERE DERE as very in love
therefore sick of love
because a yandere character goes crazy for love
often this term refers to female characters but not only
the yandere characters are capable of being completely normal until
they fall in love
at the beginning they are sweet and kind
but soon they become increasingly obsessive and possessive towards their beloved
even coming to stalker or kidnap them
sometimes tying them home so their love does not talk to other people
or threaten their beloved to hurt them if they don't remain with them
the yanders have a total devotion, a complete loyalty to their loved one
a sick love often psychopathic
they would be willing to do anything to be with the person they love
and it takes very little to trigger their jealousy
which can turn into tragedy
in extreme cases a yandere character who has been cheated on
or who is particularly psycho
Is even capable of kiIIing their loved one rather than being left behind
or propose to commit sù1c1de together to celebrate their union and stay together for eternity

【MUKBANG】 Ultra Simple Using Noodle Soup!! Japanese Style Mentai Pasta [6124kcal][CC Available] - Duration: 5:55.
Hello it's Kinoshita Yuka ( English subtitles by ~Aphexx~ )
So today tadaa! I made a super easy to make Japanese style mentaiko egg spaghetti with noodle sauce
Today's mentaiko spaghetti is so EZ to make The last time around I made some creamy pasta
This time around we're going with a japanese style flavoring
In place of the cream we have noodles sauce instead
alrighty let's see how it's made
These are the ingredients Spaghetti mentaiko egg noodle sauce mayonnaise
Salted butter shredded seaweed
Add plenty of salt to the spaghetti water
Boil the pasta according to directions
remove the fish eggs from the membrane
blend the mentaiko egg with noodle sauce in a large bowl
Add mayo Butter and mix
then dump in the boiled pasta
The butter will melt from the Heat
You could also add some of the pasta water
I will Also add some kelp tea for extra depth
It's a shame to let this mentaiko sauce go to waste that came with the fish eggs so I'll add it
Transfer to a bowl
Once you add the seaweed.....
tadaa it's all done
Doesn't it look so yummy
mentaiko is the 'bestest' stuff around itadakimasu
This Japanese style one is lower in calories than the other
Perfect for those who are dieting
It's covered in plenty of the seaweed and looks yummy
The yummy sweetness from the noodle sauce taste so yummy with everything in here
The seaweed goes perfectly with this stuff
The kelp tea that I added gives it plenty of extra flavor
With so much of the sauce covering the noodles its all so yummy
Rich butter and the eggs that pop in the mouth are so good
oh yeah that's right I added a bit of mayo to this
the mayo gives it extra flavor
It's so covered in sauce
And since there's so much butter and mentaiko in here its very satisfying
The Mayo serves to help mellow the flavors
Time to add some more seaweed
The crispy dry ones are yummy but the soggy wilted bits of seaweed are also very yummy
One good thing about eating large portions in the summer is that you can get a lot of you liquids at the same time
please stay hydrated during the crazy hot summer Y'all
I'm all out of seaweed
It just doesn't look that good if you put too much on at the beginning
Seaweed and mentaiko fish eggs go so nicely together
Some perilla Leaf would be awesome in here as well
It can sometimes overpower a dish so it would be best to add it mid way though
I think it would be for the best if you start off this dish with seaweed then make the switch to perilla
Last mouthful itadakimasu
gochisosamadeshita The Japanese style mentaiko egg spaghetti with sauce
was so yummy how is it that these mentaiko can make everything taste so good
The creamy pasta was yummy but this japanese style pasta was yummy as well
I liked both styles of mentaiko pasta but I usually lean towards creamy carbonaras
the kelp tea did make this taste really good as well kelp is full of umami
and the seaweed was a lovely topping as well I didn't even need to cut anything up today
it was so EZ to make won't you all please give it a try
And as always thank you for watching if there's anything you Wants me to do or each please tell me in a comment section

It is important to practice these as
soon as possible in the learning process;

Packages are the Best Thing Ever (Animation) - Duration: 2:39.
Hey, I'm Geeky Pixel.
Do you know what the most exciting thing in the world is?

[Knocking at door]
Uh… hang on a second.

Do you have some post for me?
I'm the postman.
What do you expect me to have?
I'm not a milkman so do you expect me to give you milk?
Or... or...
[Door slam]
Oh...
Uh…
Where was I?
Oh yeah!
The best thing in the world is…
Getting packages.
But why is that?
Well that's what I'm going to tell you isn't it ya silly.
I mean that is the title of the video.
Well, the main reason getting packages is so great is because of the mystery of what
you're going to get.
I mean, I know you ordered the parcel so you probably should know what it is, but you can't
really be certain.
I mean, it could be anything!
A puppy,
a new phone,
a severed toe?
Who knows!?
You only get to find out once the postman has pushed the package through your letterbox.
So then, at last, you get to actually open it.
What could it be? What could it be?
Oh!
It's those tweezers I ordered!
Oh wow!
It's also kinda magical how you can click a button on the internets and it just magically
flies into your house from the other side of the world.
Like… uh… how they do you do that?
But no matter how fast a parcel is delivered, it's never fast enough.
Because I want it right now.
I don't have time for any of that waiting!
Okay.
So now I wait.
Is it here yet?
How about now?
It's still not - oh.
Oh wait.
I only ordered it 10 minutes ago.
[Canned laughter]
Ordering parcels is also sort of like having a mini christmas whenever you want!
The only difference is that you pay for presents and they're for yourself.
And you know what they are...
Also there's no decorations or music or food.
So it's not really like christmas at all. Actually.
But, the postmen, at least in the UK anyway, they wear red so they are kind of like santa!
They don't watch you while you're sleeping though!
At least I hope not.
So uh… what have we learned today?
Uh... parcels are pretty neat. I guess.

5 SECRETS DE BEAUTÉ AVEC PATRICK LORENTZ 🇫🇷 - Duration: 5:28.
Hello, I am Patrick Lorentz
Makeup artist for Estée Lauder
5 beauty secrets with Patrick Lorentz
I have worked at Estée Lauder for 27 years
And today, I will answer several questions
for an easy and flawless makeup
How to achieve a flawless complexion?
That will last all day and all night?
There is a whole protocol, starting with skincare.
Skincare will be the base for your makeup
So never apply makeup on bare skin!
I know some women still tend to do it
You must also choose the right textures
With a texture that isn't rich enough
your skin will drink up the foundation
On the contrary, if the texture is too rich
Your skin will be shiny and your foundation won't last.
How to achieve a day to night makeup?
I have a very simple trick for that!
Take a bit of serum - I will actually show you right now
It will be easier to understand
I use the legendary Advanced Night Repair Serum
You normally apply it in the morning and the evening
but today, we are going to use it differently
It's actually what I did just now
I take some serum in the palm of my hand
I rub it in my palms and press it on top of the makeup
Even on foundation, it doesn't damage it
But it is going to refresh your makeup
and especially give you a refill of hyaluron acidon on the surface of your skin
And that will allow you to move on to a makeup touch up
For a makeup touch-up, you can use foundation
or a product that is amazing
called the Cushion Stick
It is a nomad product
that you can easily put in your bag
What can also look nice for the evening
is giving more light to your cheekbones
using highlighters
I would advise you to choose
a liquid or fluid highlighter
I find a lot more natural
It looks as if the skin were lightly dewy
and avoid the supernatural effect
that you can get with a powder-highlighter
A little touch of lipstick
and you're ready for the evening!
To create dimension
you have to work on the lights and shadows
of your face
Light gives volume
shadows carve the face
It's the principle of contouring
We have seen contouring a lot on Youtube!
But I think it must be adapted
to be more natural
We will start working on shadows
with a bronzer
I recommend using a blush brush
and a bronzer
and working it in here under the cheekbones
a little bit here if you have a bigger forehead
if you don't like your nose,
and find it too long
apply bronzer on the tip of your nose
or if your chin is a little pointy
apply some on the bottom of your chin
but always in a very natural manner
Afterwards, to give light and volume
we will work with a highlighter
here on the cheekbones,
here on the brow bone,
on the nose,
between the eyebrows
on the Cupid's bow
And a little tip for the summertime
if you have a decolleté, apply some on your collarbone
It is very difficult to choose the correct foundation
because there are many parameters
that must be taken into account
First, intensity, which means
shades that go from light to dark
At Estée Lauder we go from shade 1
to shade 8, the darkest, for black skintones.
And afterwards, we have undertones,
What is are undertones ?
For instance, I don't know if you can tell
My skin has pink undertones
It becomes coppery when I get tanned
Other skins are more golden, more yellow
And there are other skintones
for which it's harder to find an undertone
And we call those neutral skintones:
they have as much red and yellow pigments.
First, you must choose your intensity, and then, your undertone
That is why, for Estée Lauder's 42 shades,
for each intensity, there is a pink undertone option,
and a yellow undertone option
and a neutral undertone option.
But we have gone even further
We realized it wasn't enough
I have a good example: think about shoe sizes.
Imagine your shoe size is a 6.
But sometimes, you need a 6,5.
It's exactly what we did!
For instance, we created the shade 1W,05
Which allows us to have an even more precise shade
And participates in Double Wear's success!
Every woman can find her exact shade of foundation!
We must also take into consideration
the texture of the foundation
according to the skin type.
For combination to oily skin
if you're afraid of looking shiny,
pick an oil-free foundation,
and that's actually what Double Wear does,
For people with dry skin,
that tends to be a little dull
or not catch the light
I would recommend
a satin-finish foundation
that is a little dewy when you apply it.
Simply do your makeup and when it's done,
check whether it is too shiny or not,
and apply powder where you need to.
Thank you for watching this video!
I hope I answered some of your questions!
