Hello boys and girls, young and old. Welcome to yet another action figure video review.
Today we'll take a look at Tranformers MakeToys Paladin/Chaos!
And as you can see Paladin/Chaos comes with a medium box. You see him here in all his modes.
On the top side of the box you see Paladin & Chaos in their robot modes.
On the bottom side of the box you see Paladin & Chaos in their vehicle modes.
On the side of the box you see Paladin in his robot mode.
On the other side of the box you see Chaos in his robot mode.
And on the back side of the box you see Paladin/Chaos in all his modes.
Enough with the box, let's see the instructions from close.
And these are his instructions. The booklet is very small.
The figure has very simple transformation.
Enough with the instructions, let's see the figure from close.
And here we have, ladies and gentlemen, Paladin/Chaos in their vehicle modes.
As you can see they are both tanks. This tank has double cannons. While this one has rocket lunchers.
This tank doesn't have any articulation, if I can say it like this, the turret doesn't rotate.
The only feature that it has is that you can remove the swords from here.
While the rocket luncher can be moved back and forth, like this.
As for its features, you can bring these bits up. Open these panels.
Remove the gatling gun. And you can place it here to the front for an extra gun.
Nice feature.
To put it back inside, the gatling gun has a hole here, it will be connected with this peg here.
So these are his vehicle modes. Simple but nice. Let's see a size comparison now.
Here is Paladin/Chaos next to a deluxe class figure, Generations Warpath.
As you can see, Paladin/Chaos is a little bit bigger than a deluxe class figure.
So let's transform Paladin in his robot mode.
Paladin is the one who can become a robot while the rocket luncher becomes the armor of Paladin to form Chaos!
So we will see first Paladin in his robot mode.
My buddy Stefanos is near me who will show you the transformation, Stefanos?
- Hello from me as well. First we will leave the rocket luncher aside.
Paladin has very easy transformation. First, disconnect the legs.
Extend them. Rotate them like this. And bring this piece up.
Do the same thing to the other side as well.
Rotate these bits downwards. Bring these bits to the sides, like this.
Bring his arms down. Bring the fists out.
And close this bit again. Not completely,
it has double joint here, bend it at the first joint so the arm can move freely.
Do the same thing to the other side as well.
Finally, rotate his head.
And Paladin is ready in his robot mode! Let me make him stand...
- And here we have, ladies and gentlemen, Paladin in his robot mode!
I really like his colours. He has very nice combination of colours.
Black, grey, orange, red eyes. His headsculpt is very beautiful! This is his back view.
You can remove this cannon if you want. But his powercore combiners will be visible.
So he looks a little bit "empty" now, it's better to have his backpack on.
As for his articulation, his head can rotate 360 degrees, it doesn't move up and down.
As for his arm, you need to bring this piece outwards, the arm can move up and down, it is on a ball-joint.
You can also use this joint here to move it in and out. It has double joint at the elbow.
The fist cannot rotate, it can just move in and out because of the transformation.
He doesn't have waist rotation. But if you bring this piece down, he now has some waist rotation.
These pieces can move up and down and a little bit in and out.
His legs can move forward, backwards until here, they rotate at the thighs, bend at the knee.
And the toe can move up and down because of the transformation.
He has good articulation for such small figure. Also, his backpack helps him to stand.
As for his swords, yes he can hold them but not tightly. They fall down very easily.
He can hold his swords only if they are combined.
You see the swords have some pegs & holes, just connect them.
And now we can place it in his hand.
And as you can see now it doesn't fall anymore, he holds it perfectly fine.
Let's see a size comparison now.
And here is Paladin next to two deluxe class figures, Generations Warpath and Generations Drift.
As you can see Paladin is a deluxe class figure.
And something that I forgot to show you about his articulation is that his leg can move up and down, like this.
So let's combine now Paladin with his armor to form Chaos, Stefanos?
- First, remove his sword.
First we will transform the main body and then I will show you how to combine it with his armor.
Remove the cannon from his back.
Bring the arms to their original position, as they were.
Like this. Do the same thing to the other side as well.
Rotate his head backwards. Now his legs. Rotate them and compress them upwards.
Rotate this piece and this peg will tab in this hole. Do the same thing to the other side as well.
We will use these joints from here and we will bring these pieces back, completely.
Open them a little bit to bring out the head. Bring this piece down.
Rotate Paladin's head to bring Chaos's head out. And bring these pieces back again.
Once you've done this, bring these bits to the sides.
Rotate the head. Bring the chest up. It has two pegs here, they will tab in here.
And the main body is ready. Leave it down. And now we will work on the second tank.
Split it in half. Disconnect these pieces. Open them like this.
Disconnect these pieces as well. Bring this bit out.
These bits as well. This piece will connect in here.
And this piece will connect with the arm. Do the same thing to the other side as well.
Before we connect everything, according to the instructions this bit must face forward.
You can have the rocket luncher if you want from this side. We will follow the instructions.
Take the main body. Bring out the connectors. Connect the legs.
Place the arms. And Chaos is ready in his robot mode!
- And here we have, ladies and gentlemen, Chaos in his robot mode! Really, an excellent figure!
Wow, simply wow! He is incredible! This combination of colours is incredible! I love it very very much!
I will give you a closer look to see his details better.
Really, this is a very beautiful figure!
This combination of colours, black, orange, dark purple, is incredible! Very beautiful figure!
As for his articulation, his head can rotate 360 degrees, it can move a little bit up and down, it can tilt left and right.
The arms can rotate 360 degrees, they move up until here, down, they rotate at this point of the arm, they bend at the elbow.
The fist can rotate, it can also move a little bit up and down.
There is also waist rotation, these pieces here can be rotated and they move a little bit in and out.
This piece can be moved up and down, his legs can move back and forth, up and down.
They rotate at the thighs, bend at the knee, the toe is on a ball-joint, it can move up and down, it can rotate
and it can tilt left and right. Also there is knee rotation.
So the articulation is excellent! Very good articulation.
He can also hold his sword perfectly fine.
You can place the cannons here on the shoulders if you want.
Or you can split them in half. You can place one cannon here on his shoulder.
And you can place the other one on the side of his arm. And it will look like this.
I will put them.....these are tight to come out...
I will probably have them here on his shoulders.
He has two features. One: You can remove the fist. Open this panel.
And you can take out a small gatling gun, it's on a ball-joint. And it will look like this.
Nice feature! And also...
...you can bring out the big gatling guns from his legs and place them in his fist. And it will look like this.
Or you can bring out the small gatling gun as well! To have double gatling guns! Very nice features!
Also, you can use his big gatling guns as his heels by putting them behind his feet!
I will probably keep Fallen with the gatling guns as his heels!
So this is Chaos. And as I said before he is based on the Fallen character from the Dreamwave comics, aka Megatronus Prime.
He is one of the thirteen Primes! He also killed a Prime, a brother of him. That's why he is so evil.
He was the Megatron's idol, Megatron borrowed this guy's name, the one you see now, Megatronus Prime aka The Fallen!
And here is Megatronus Prime next to two voyager class figures, Generations Springer & Generations Whirl.
And here he is next to a leader class figure, Generations Jetfire.
As you understand, Megatronus Prime is a voyager class figure.
Here he is next to a Masterpiece figure, Masterpiece Ironhide. As you understand Megatronus Prime is not Masterpiece scaled.
And finally, here is Megatronus Prime next to another Prime, Nova Prime!
One last thing that I would like to show to you is that Fallen has these handles under his feet.
The instructions don't say anything about what we can do with them but I can imagine this handle will come backwards, like this,
you put a gatling gun in this hole and this piece here, Paladin (the small robot) can probably use it as a gun.
So let's transform Fallen back into his vehicle modes, Stefanos?
- First, remove the pieces of the armor. We will start with the main body.
Close the connectors.
Disconnect these pieces, rotate them backwards and bring them down like this.
Do the same thing to the other side as well.
And now connect the legs together. Rotate these bits downwards.
Bring the chest-piece down. Rotate the head. Bring these bits to the front.
Bring these bits...I don't know if you can see it from the camera, this black bit must come in here.
Do the same thing to the other side as well.
Rotate the head like this. Bring this piece up.
Finally, take the two cannons, connect them. Attention, they don't tab like this, you slide them in.
And when you disconnect them you need to slide them out so you won't break them.
Place the cannons. Disconnect the swords. Put the swords in their place.
It doesn't want to sit... -_-
Nicely done. And Paladin is back into his vehicle mode.
Now the armor. Disconnect all the pieces.
Connect the rocket luncher. Close these bits and connect them, like this.
Rotate the fists, like this. Connect them.
Open the connectors so the feet will be connected and then bring them down like this.
Place the rocket luncher here. And then connect these two pieces.
Just a minute because the one joint turned around.
You need to be careful, the joints must be turned in the same way so they can move up and down.
And the second vehicle is ready!
- Final thoughts... Paladin/Chaos is a very impressive figure!
Really, he has incredible paint details! The plastic quality is very good.
His articulation is also very good. Only two drawbacks I found on this figure.
The first drawback is that his vehicle modes don't have any wheels to roll.
And the second drawback is that when he is in Paladin mode (the small robot) he cannot hold the swords separately.
While when the swords are combined he can hold them perfectly fine. These are the only drawbacks on the figure in my opinion.
Other than that it's an excellent figure, great representation of The Fallen aka Megatronus Prime from the Dreamwave comics!
Very good figure! I like it very very much! That's all from me, Stefanos?
- I will agree as well, very good figure, impressive.
Very nice colours and the contrast they have, they bring out this menacing that Megatronus has.
Indeed his plastic quality is very good, it's worth, it's a piece you can have in your collection easily!
- One last thing I would like to mention is that his transformations are very easy.
