If you've ever felt like you're just
completely falling behind their life
especially when you're on social media
scrolling through everyone's posts and
you just can't help but feel like you're
just a big failure then stay tuned
because I made this video just for you!
There's definitely been times in my life
when I felt like I'm completely falling
behind in life... I mean all it takes is
scrolling through social media and you
start seeing everybody's posts and at
first it's all fun and all you're
connecting with people but then you
start thinking about all the things that
you should be eating and all the things
you should be doing and all the business
strategies you should be trying and all of
the vacation spots you should have
traveled to by now... and instead of
feeling inspired you start feeling like
a massive failure in life! If you can
resonate with this then you want to
watch this video because I'm going to
tell you exactly what to do to get
yourself out of this comparison trap. So, the first
thing that I do is I acknowledge that I
have fallen admittedly into the
comparison trap. Falling into this trap
is super easy the reason is because
social media is a lot of fun you're
connecting and meeting new people and
liking people's posts and then only
takes is a bad couple of days or weeks
when things aren't really going so well
for you and you start comparing yourself
to other people and one post at a time
it just starts chipping away at your
self-worth and your self-confidence and
before you know it you've been swallowed
whole! So I know that this is happening
for me when two things are going on A)
Nothing I do feels good enough and B)
it's when I start spending more of my
energy and time looking up what other
people are doing and what's going on
externally and focusing on my inner
vision. The next thing I do is they make
a choice. I can choose to continue
playing victim and feeling sorry for
myself and compare myself to others or I
can choose to get myself out of the
situation and to be honest... I care about
myself enough to get myself out of that
situation so I don't continue feeling
bad for myself so what do i do I get my
power back! And what I mean by this is if
there is something in the online space
that doesn't make me feel good I
unsubscribe to it or
I unfollow and delete it. So the last
time that this happened to me I actually
chose to unsubscribe to about ninety
percent of my emails and I used a really
cool service it's free it's called
unroll me and it allows you to bulk
unsubscribe to emails that you no longer
want to receive. I honestly believe
that what a lot of people out there are
doing is really really cool and amazing
but for me to get a million emails every
day about different strategies and
different opportunities and different
information it's just became too much
for me and I felt like I didn't know what was
right and wrong anymore and I just need
to let go of all of it so i actually
just unsubscribed to everybody that made
me feel overwhelmed and I just kept a
few people that I really genuinely loved
reading their emails every single week.
So the second thing that I did is I went
through Facebook and Instagram and I
asked myself about each account does
this particular account inspire me or
energize me or does it leave me depleted?
And if the answer was the ladder I
just simply unfollowed it! So this isn't
about being malicious it's about just
looking at things that are resonating
with you at this particular time in your
life so I personally hereby give you
permission to unfollow and unsubscribe
anything that is depleting your energy
right now. Finally I really just want to
emphasize this point: social media is a
highlight reel of somebody else's life.
I'm definitely guilty of doing this too
I don't post when I have bad days or
where I'm going through something really
difficult because I don't necessarily
always want to share that vulnerability
and I don't think there's anything wrong
with that but you have to take that
people post what is going well in their
life with a grain of salt because it
doesn't mean they don't have bad days in
their life is just plus plus plus they
also have minus minus minus moments but
they're just not sharing it with you.
So the final thing that I do when I've
gotten rid of all the distractions (I
normally feel so much better just by
doing that) but what I do is I come back
to myself and my vision my goals and my
dreams and it's almost like I put
blinders on and I just get focused and
get to work and i often get so much more
done when I'm in this mindset I also
made a video not long ago it's all
about how to be yourself and how to
reconnect with yourself and I share in
there are two things that I do every
single morning that help me connect to
myself so I highly recommend that you
watch this because it goes hand and hand
with this tip of getting focused and
getting to work now just to recap if
this is you if you feel like you're
falling behind it's because you're
comparing yourself so make sure you
unsubscribe from any emails that are not
serving you and you unfollow or delete
anything I need account on Facebook or
Instagram or any other social platform
that youth that are just not inspiring
you after that what I want you to do is
I want you to share this video with the
front and I want you guys to make a pact
that you're going to keep each other
accountable to no longer allow each
other to fall into this comparison truck
and at last I just want to tell you you
are not following behind you are perfect
and exactly where you are meant to be at
this point in your life you are amazing
and you have everything you need to
build your dreams so keep going if you
like this video make sure to like i said
before share it with a friend somebody
who needs to hear it and then subscribe
to my channel and hit the like button
below as well as I see you guys next
week
