This special issue of the ILO's flagship report

World Employment and Social Outlook: Trends for Women

provides a snapshot of where women stand

in the world of work today.

The report highlights that gaps between men and women

in the labour market remain widespread.

Closing the gender gaps in labour market outcomes, however,

would yield significant economic benefits.

If we could close the gap in participation rates by 2025

by a mere 25 per cent,

we could add 5.8 trillion dollars to the global economy.

This would also result in improving government revenues by $1.5 trillion.

Closing these gaps would also improve the individual welfare

of women and their households.

However, the reality is

that women face a multiplicity of labour market barriers.

First, far fewer women participate in the labour market than men.

The global gap in the participation rate between men and women

stands at a staggering 27 percentage points.

Second, when women do enter the job market,

they have a tougher time finding work.

The unemployment rate for women

stands at an estimated 6.2 per cent in 2017,

this is 0.7 percentage points higher than men.

Finally, when working,

women do not have the same access to decent work opportunities as men.

This is especially the case in developing countries

where nearly 37 per cent of employed women

are contributing family workers

compared to 17 per cent among men.

Work of this nature is often invisible and under-valued.

How do we move forward

to unlock the potential of women at work?

We need to start by changing our attitudes

towards the role of women in the world of work

and in society.

We need effective legislation

to prevent and eliminate discrimination based on gender.

We also need specialized bodies in government

and public awareness initiatives

to bring the concerns of women

to the forefront of policy dialogue today.

Both women and men achieve a better work-life balance

when they have access to quality childcare,

well-paid parental leave,

fair compensation

and adequate access to transportation.

We're on vacation you're having fun.

We spent so much money.

Yeah, well that's.

We don't like to become that.

Less is more.

With everything.

Until you're not having fun anymore.

I mean for us we always compared to going to Six Flags.

We went to Six Flags he went in the very morning and you left when it closed.

Right.

And that's the memory you kind of leave with.

So it's like just go until you're having fun.

As soon as the movie start switching in negative get out of there right away.

Yeah if everyone's hot, too crabby the lines are too long.

And you're going oh this sucks.

Then leave.

You got your fun, that's what you want to remember.

You don't want to like a drag it out.

No you don't want to spoil it either.

Life is made of tiny little happiness moments.

Like those are the ones we pieced together and continue on with life.

And if you start ruining them you're not going to enjoy life.

I never knew what a vacation was until Kaitlin took me take me on vacation.

They swam with sea turtles.

So I painted this.

All that actually looks pretty good.

And then I painted this today.

Which I actually think turned out pretty cute.

So I get outside.

And I relax.

And it was awesome.

What struck me the most about the world of racing and circuits

were the hours of work involved, and just how quickly they can pass by.

People don't see all the effort that goes into motivating a team, into managing every detail

so that it all goes well when we get on the circuit.

I'm doing what I enjoy most in life.

I don't know what I would do if they ever took this away from me.

What we call the Monlau style

is in fact a racing style.

They offer you many options, especially if you want to become a competition engineer,

and they open up the door to the world of motorsports.

One of the main reasons to choose Monlau are the teachers we have here, they're very good.

The equipment is another reason.

Everything is important, having a really good bike is important

but being part of a closely-knit team is even more so in the world of racing.

This is the initiation class.

I've Done Thousands Of These Deals Over The Past 10 Years - Duration: 6:10.

My name's Dwayne Shears.

I'm from Birmingham, Alabama, and I first met Joe in 2007, I believe.

Probably late 2007, so almost ten years ago.

No, I was searching online, actually was looking for some untraditional investing techniques

and ran across him online and joined his program then.

Well, I'd started in real estate in 2006 just the prior year earlier, pre-crash.

I'd bought a lot of properties on the conventional way of mortgages, loans and all that normal

stuff.

And kind of around when the crash was hitting and right before the crash hit, the banks

stopped lending money.

You know, they cut it off, so I had to find new ways.

So that's how I found him.

Well, it was new to me and it was unconventional and it didn't take money or bank financing

or you know, anyone el- it was a technique that you could do without borrowing money.

Gosh, I can't remember, it's been a decade ago, but I've done hundreds and hundreds

since then, probably in the thousands.

It didn't take long.

I'm sure within just a few days, maybe a week or two, and I was, you know, acquiring

properties and filling them on rent to buy, rent to own methods.

So I was doing typically the $3,000 to $5,000 range down payment during that time.

I don't know, three to five hours, I guess, maybe.

The best, I mean, I've had a lot of good deals, I mean, I've never done one, I've

done as much as a little more than $10,000 down as an option fee, but most of them were

$3,000 to $5,000 down.

So I guess I'd say that would be the best one.

And this was on about a $200,000 property.

Just normal, what I've been doing all along, just putting signs out, rent to own, no qualifying,

move in today, you know, I always answered my phone.

Just qualify a few people and see if they have the money.

If they want to look at it, go from there and this particular case the person wanted

to buy their rent down, so we was able to increase the option fee and lower the rent

by doing that.

Basically, I've just become lazy.

Whenever I met Joe I had just started doing this full time and have constantly been doing

it full time and fortunate that I now own quite a few properties and I work about ten

or fifteen hours a week and that's about it.

So, I'm kind of lazy.

So I'm actually going to start back and do some more, pick up some new stuff.

Well, to keep living the lifestyle that I'm living and not that it's a tremendous lifestyle

by any means, but I come from a background where I worked sixty, seventy, eighty hours

a week, so I'm at a point where I like having my time.

That's been the most important for me, is, it's been, it's enabled me to buy back

my time.

Tremendous impact, you know, the, I'm able to spend time with them, watch kids grow.

I have grown kids and young kids, so, I'm able to spend a lot of time with them that

I wasn't able to do before.

Well, for me, it was, I got fired from my job in 2006 and so I discovered that, you

know, I'm really not that good at employee, so I should work for myself.

But, no, it's a story there, but, I've been doing it since 2006 and I was doing it

the wrong way had I not found Joe in 2007 then I would probably be doing something else.

I have, over the years, like I said, I haven't done a whole lot in the last five years because

it's just, I've automated and running very smoothly now.

But if you do a lot of turnover of properties and acquire new ones and flipping's and

things like that, then I'll pick up the automated system once again.

But right now I haven't.

I would say stick with Joe's program.

The biggest thing I would not do would be want to become an agent or a broker.

I think it's too much exposure for these type of unconventional risky deals.

So I would stay away from that part of it and just do the simple flips, the for rent

methods, and then you know, take your time building your portfolio.

Don't rush into it, just pick and choose the best properties that will sustain long

time, long term.

No, other than I know I've seen these type editorials before and I've known Joe for

ten years now.

He's an absolutely credible, honest, he's everything that you read and hear about him.

So, I'm, you know, I'm not speaking that from somebody that's just known him for

two or three weeks, or two or three months.

So he's a credible guy.

Customers Bathroom - Can I Use It? Cleaning Lady Wants to Know - Duration: 4:13.

Hi there, I'm Angela Brown and this is As a House Cleaner.

This is a show where you get to ask a house cleaning question,

and I get to help you find an answer.

Today's question comes from a house cleaner who wants to know,

"Is it okay if when I'm at the customer's house and

I have to use the bathroom really bad,

Is it okay if I use the customer's bathroom?

Or do I need to wait until my shift is over and then I can go at a gas station

or a restaurant or a fast food place?"

Okay, the answer to that question is, because you are a house cleaner you're going to have

more interaction with that family and that house,

then, let's say, a guy that comes in twice a year and sprays for bugs,

or something like that.

You are more intimately involved in that family's life.

Since they're more comfortable with you, there are times that maybe you're going to be there

a little bit longer than someone who's going to come in for a

quick 5 to 10-minute spray job for bugs.

You're going to be there for a couple of hours.

Maybe 2, 3, 4, 6 hours and during that time your body is going to speak to you.

If you're staying hydrated which we encourage, you are going to need to use the bathroom.

Instead of stopping and leaving the customers house and going somewhere,

you're going to have to use their bathroom.

Whether they like it or not.

But the good news is this: As a maid or a housekeeper or a house cleaner,

you have cleaning supplies with you.

If you decide that you're going to use their loo, you have the chance then to

wipe the toilet down after you're done.

When you use the faucet, you can wipe the handles down so you that you've left no germs

and no fingerprints and none of your personal germs behind.

So, you have the ability to sanitize after you leave.

They may not like it, but if they don't and they bring it up…

we've actually had customers over the years that say,

"We don't like hired help using our bathroom."

Alright, well logistically, in a perfect world,

I could go 6 hours without having to go.

But like I said, if you stay hydrated, which you need in order to complete your job,

you're going to have to go.

This is one of those weird conversations that no one wants to talk about and when it comes up,

it's just kind of awkward and,

"Did you use my restroom?"

"I did.

And then I sanitized everything when I was done."

You can have a conversation with that customer about it, or you can just ask.

"Hey, I was hoping this didn't happen but, I've got to use the restroom. Is that okay?"

And then usually, they'll say okay. And if they say no...

I've heard a lady that lived in an apartment complex, she's like,

"There's a public restroom at the end of the hall."

And she says this to a repair guy that came while I was there while I was there cleaning.

So she wouldn't let him use her restroom, but she let me.

and so, she sent him down the hall.

So, there are customers that are weird about that

and you have to kind of respect the space that they're in.

But in the event that you need to use their restroom, if for any reason you have a problem,

just let them know, "I did."

I hope you didn't mind.

I couldn't wait.

I didn't want to stop and run down the street or run down to the store to use theirs, but

I did sanitize yours on the way out the door.

So, it's sanitized, it's clean, it's ready for you guys."

I would just let them know that.

I would hope that it's not a problem,

but you kind of have to go, if you kind of have to go.

That's my tip for today.

Sanitize it after you're done and have a conversation with the customer if you need to.

We literally bought tickets for three days.

We are probably in the parks a total of seven hours max.

We're on vacation you're having fun.

We spent so much money.

We don't like to become that.

Until you're not having fun anymore.
