Youtube daily report w Jun 11 2017

I recently marathoned Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job and I couldn't help but notice how

it uses sound to tell a joke.

While Film is both an Audio and Visual medium, Visuals have been the dominant focus of both

the audience and filmmakers.

This is despite films with great visuals and bad sound often being amateurish while films

with bad visuals and great sound are often praised.

Even when Sound is the focus, it's mainly relegated to Music and Dialogue rather than

other aspects of Sound Design.

Sound design doesn't have to be invisible.

Tim & Eric Awesome Show Great Job was a sketch comedy show on Adult Swim running for five

seasons from 2007-2010.

During that time, not only did they push the boundaries of what is or isn't comedy, they

would go on to inspire some of the best comedians, shows, commercials, and let's face it, memes of our time

Regardless of if you find them funny or not, Tim and Eric undeniably use the full spectrum

of sound to find comedy.

While the whole show uses a wide array of comedic

styles, the type of sound effects Tim and Eric use fall under three categories of Comedy:

Cringe, Farce, and Satire.

Cringe Comedy works from our knowledge of social norms, or what is or isn't socially

acceptable behavior.

Tim and Eric actively seek out what isn't acceptable.

For example, I don't know about you, but I have a thing about hair in my mouth.

So seeing a sketch like Candy Tails threatens to break me, but I can't even close my eyes

because you can still hear this.

They attach some of the grossest sounds to their already

cringe-worthy sketches.

At least one of them will threaten to make you quit the show.

If it's not body-gore, father- son relationships, or food, it will be something.

Their use of Cringe and Farce may seem the same

because they use them in tandem like their favorite sound this wet fleshy sound effect.

Its Cringe because it's always attached to something with the body.

It's also Farce because it calls attention to itself.

Farce Comedy is about using exaggeration and absurdity.

The difference between their use of Cringe and Farce can be seen in many of their opening sketches

Because you can't turn up a situation that is already at its peak, their sketches usually

start mundane and ordinary.

Once the world is set a third element is introduced and with it a sound.

Their farce sounds effects can also be heard any time they prolong or repeat a sound over

and over again.

They even reduce words into sound effects.

While one of Tim and Eric's goal is to gross you out,

another goal is to parody and ridicule forms of media like infomercials, local news and commercials, MTV culture, and sitcoms just to name a few

Parody and ridicule are features of Satire along with irony.

All three Tim and Eric use in spades.

Take their sketches the Internette,

and what I call Ballons.

Both use sound or the lack of it to tell a joke that wouldn't be there with just visuals

or dialogue.

I will quickly mention the songs in Tim and Eric are only second to Flight of the Conchords

Just because I'm focusing on their use of sound effects

doesn't mean they do not use to find comedy as well

While watching Tim and Eric, I couldn't help but think of Monty Python, and their mutual

sense of humor and visual presentation.

I also thought of how Monty Python's limited budget led to the infamous coconuts for horses.

Maybe Tim and Eric embrace their limited budget by purposefully using a low-quality style,

and even 'bad' sound to find a joke.

Sound effects are tools at the filmmaker's disposal

This is one of the reasons why I find Tim and Eric Awesome Show

Great Job so refreshing.

All the sounds they use are directly related to something in the scene, and they use them

with a clear and creative purpose.

Used correctly, sound build your world, and give the audience information beyond visuals.

Not only do Tim and Eric not only push the boundaries of film

They show how SFXs can be used effectively and How To Find Comedy Through Sound.

THREE FUNNY THINGS - Duration: 7:16.

This video is going to be very quick. Today I'll talk about...

funny things that we see on the Internet every day

If you want to use this video to practice your English, please follow these instructions:

Today I'll talk about three funny things that I've come across on the Internet

related to English

Adn one of the things is

YAHOO ANSWERS

It is basically a site that people go to when they have a question about something

when they are in doubt about something

They go there and they ask a question

and random people from anywhere in the world answer that question

of course, there are so many questions there that sometimes

The questions are stupid and of course...

the answers to these questions are stupid as well

I've separated here two funny questions and answers

so there's this one here:

The question is:

What kind of question is that?

How can I safely look at a picture of the sun?

and the person tries to explain his question...LOOK:

or her question

Look at the profile picture of the person who asked this question:

It's a very funny person

Very intelligent question and of course there was a stupid answer to that

and the best answer was:

that was a very good answer

and strangely it makes sense

ok, another question

a health class is where you learn how "babies are norn", ok?

The question is if you can get pregnant from watching this kind of class

and the best answer was:

"Not if you put condoms on your eyes"

well, it makes sense again...I could

I could wear condoms on my eyes to look at the picture of the sun

Now everything makes sense!!!

another funy thing that I've come across on the Internet

is the wrong translations

Especially here in São Paulo when you go around you always see signs in English

when you go to restaurants you see the menus translated into English

at the subway you see the directions in English

at the zoo, the descriptions of the animals are in English

so things have been translated into English

which is great for foreigners

BUT

Walking around I have already come across wrong translations

and I've selected here two that I've found on the Internet

so this one is from a restaurante menu

it's a restaurant that sells tea

and look at the kind of tea they sell

and they have translated that into KILL

would you like to have this kind of tea?

a killing tea?

no, I think that would be deadly

And this....Would you like to drink this kind of juice?

SHIT juice?

THEY'VE TRANSLATED "COCONUT" INTO "SHIT"

I believe they used GOOGLE TRANSLATE

because originally in Portuguese it's not written correctly

one lesson from this is "never rely on google translate"

we have to be sure of what we're doing

especially at a restaurant

Would you like to have some "shit juice?"

another funny thing that I've found on the Internet

is the AUTO-CORRECT FAILS

you know, when you are typing something on Whatsapp and then

your cellphone changes what you're typing into something completely different

and some times there are some embarrassing situations...For example:

this conversation between a father and a son

so the son said:

and the father said:

and the son replied:

He meant "oral test" but it was changed into "oral sex"

but there are two nice expressons from this conversation

so this is the teaching time

he said "probably tonight if my girlfriend is IN THE MOOD"

IN THE MOOD

IN THE MOOD is when you are willing to do something...when you want to do something

"I'm in the mood to have some ice cream. I'm in the mood to play video game"

IN THE MOOD

and there's another expression from this conversation

which is really interesting...It is:

"thanks for filling me in"

FILL IN is a phrasal verb

"to fill in"= to update with news

Let's imagine we work together but I was absent yesterday

then you tell me everything that happened yesterday...You are FILLING ME IN

You are giving me some information...You're filling me in

two nice expressions from this little conversation

IN THE MOOD and FILL IN

Another funny conversation here between a HUSBAND and a WIFE

and then there was an AUTOCORRECT problem

the wife asked:

and the husband replied:

LAY is "to go to bed"

I laid the babysitter (I "went to bed" with the babysitter)

"go to bed"

we should always pay attention when we're typing because things like that happen all the time

and some times these things are embarrassing

but one tip for you, studying English

Change the settings of your cellphone into English

from Portuguese into English because it's a great way to practice your English...

The Memes Of Filthy Frank - The Origin Of "It's Time To Stop" "The Harlem Shake" + - Duration: 10:40.

Hello Internet!

And Welcome To Behind The Meme!!

Today we have a look at the memes of Filthy Frank!

That's right!

It's finally happening! This has by far been one of the most requested videos for quite

some time now, but I've had to keep putting it off because other videos have kept coming

up.

Well… today is finally the day!

You guys wanted it now you have it!!!

Here We GO!!!!

First things first,Who is filthy frank?

Well…to fully understand that question, you have to experience frank for yourself,

And to experience frank is a journey unlike any other out there.

It's an adventure, it's a trip, it will leave you with more questions than answers.

But if you're not offended along the way you'll also be entertained and laugh more

than almost anywhere else on Youtube and the internet in general.

This is just a small taste of who he is.

Song

Filthy Frank is the name of a character played by actor, comedian, musician and all around

badass George Miller.

Now in my opinion what makes his videos and channel so special is how committed to his

characters he is and his ability to stay true to comedy even though in todays day and age,

politically correct society has a way of killing jokes and comedy.

But although some SJW's would have a heart attack if they saw some of his videos, George

and the Filthy Frank character are not afraid to go far and beyond what others normally

would all to entertain and make his audience laugh.

For example.

One of my personally favorite videos is a video where he plays with ded animals.

Yeah, you heard me correctly.

Usually people like vegetarians or organizations Peta would frown upon things like this, But

george sacrifices judgement in the name of comedy.

and that is just the tip of the iceberg.

George has a vast library of content he has created as the filthy frank character.

Each video being more shocking and funny than the previous.

Now although these videos may be perceived as offensive and in bad taste to some people,

there's actually a deeper meaning to all of it, which he clearly states on his channels

about me section.

So to sum it up, filthy frank is a character.

A character that portrays the worst aspects of mankind for comedic effect and if you don't

understand that and happen to get mad about it.

Well…

You're dumb if you don't understand it.

The filthy frank character has been around since as early as 2011 when a video was first

uploaded on the dizastamusic channel that featured a younger george playing an early

incarnation of frank that wasn't as wild as the frank we know and love today.

The description of the video states that if it got 10,000 views he would get to hit his

buddy in the balls.

Well…Mission accomplished.

Mission accomplished indeed my friend.

Since the early Frank videos and the popularity of the character, the majority of the content

has been uploaded to what is now the main channel known as TVFilthyFrank.Which Since

being created in January of 2013 has amassed an impressive 4.5 million subscribers and

over 500 million views.

And after I record this video, edit it and finally put it up online, I'm sure those

numbers are a lot higher.

Now I can go on and on about how much I enjoy the filthy frank content or how Talented George

is.I mean the dude has even released albums and songs as both himself and his characters.

One of which even charted pretty damn high on iTunes, But I'm not here to blow the

guy alright . Im making this video to explore some of the notable memes and trends that

have originated from his videos through the years and boy has there been some.

Now as I've stated before filthy frank is a character played by George.

But Frank is not the only character on the channel, in fact there are many.

Now although Frank is the primary character that is often the central focus of the videos

and the most popular, there is another character that george plays that is pretty damn popular

in his own right.

Pink Guy!

Just to clarify I said Pink Guy, not pink eye.

That's a whole different video for a whole different day

Now when you see pink guy you might just think that he's just a guy in a pink suit…which

he is…but there is so much more to pink guy than just a character in a pink suit played

by george.

Believe it or not there's a whole story line and reason to why pink guy is the way

he is, and I'm not even gonna try to start to explain it.

Because 1, I don't understand it all and 2, it is pretty damn deep.

There's a Filthy Frank Wikia page that explains it pretty well.

What you need to know is pink guy is…uhh…You know what?

I'm at a loss for words.Just look at this to kinda understand what pink guy is…

Yeah….That's a mere glimpse into the world of pink guy!

The point of all this pink guy talk is the character has become a fan favorite of the

channel becoming an iconic internet character that many people know of and enjoy.

In December of 2015 Fans of the filthy frank channel were requesting green screen images

and videos of the filthy frank character so they could use them within their own videos

and projects.

And of course George being the cool dude that he is complied, releasing a handful of interesting

clips that allowed for users to use an editing program to change whatever was green to whatever

they chose.

kinda like this.

oh yeah!!!

I know how to edit, And by edit I mean clicking two buttons to alter the green screen.

One of those clips in particular quickly became the most popular of the batch.

It's time to stop!

It's time to stop okay?

No more!

Now due to the context of the clip and the simplicity of being able to be used within

edits, numerous memes began to pop up on Youtube which utilized the green screen clip as a

sort of reaction to accompany various videos in humorous and often entertaining ways.

In August of 2012 a video was released titled "How to say hello in 30 languages" featuring

filthy frank saying hello… in 30 languages…well, kinda. The video was executed in a way that

only the filthy frank character could.

Hey esse i'm breaking into your car Hey esse i'm breaking into your car Hey

esse i'm breaking into your car

The greeting for the countries of Cambodia, Laos, Japan, and Thailand all featured frank

bent over in the middle of a field wearing one of those asian hat things…you know the

ones….the umm… the Asian Conical Hats.

I totally knew the name of them before this video.

I did not just google it and click on the wikipedia page to find the name of your hats….no

not me!

Never!

welcome to the rice fields muthafucka welcome to the rice fields muthafucka

welcome to the rice fields muthafucka

Now because the joke was instantly memorable, random , funny and used a handful of times

throughout the video it quickly became a joke and reference that the filthy frank community

loved to quote and incorporate into videos.

welcome to the rice fields muthafucka welcome to the rice fields muthafucka

Do you guys remember the harlem shake?

You know that internet trend that everybody was participating in a few years back.

It would involve a single individual dancing to a song in a room full of people who are

not moving.

Eventually as the song changes the video cuts to a scene where everybody in the room is

participating in the dancing.

If you were on youtube in 2013 slash 2014 era you know exactly what Im talking about.

Yeah….George started that…

I know…crazy right?

It was like a global phenomena.

I had no clue that it all started with george prior to making this video but apparently

it did.

On February 2, 2013 on the dizastamusic channel the original harlem shake video that would

spawn thousands of other videos was uploaded to youtube.

Creating a trend that would spread far and wide in the following years.

Now those are just a handful of the notable memes associated with filthy frank, and I

just gave a brief glimpse into each one because this video would be way too long if I went

any deeper and at this point I'm already starting to lose my voice.

But you can see how influential george and his characters are.

While doing research for this video I stumbled upon a pretty interesting interview with George

that gave me a deeper understanding of his intentions and goals.

Check it out.

I'll put a link in the description down below.

When you start to analyze everything that George is doing it's rather fascinating

and impressive.

Not only is he killin the Youtube game but he is staying true to comedy in the process

while creating awesome music as both himself and his characters.

He is taking the internet and social connection that we can achieve on it and using it to

fulfill his creativity in ways that few have done before.

Along the way he has just so happened to give the world some memes!

So there you have it!

What started off as a character from a talented individual has spawned into a handful of memes

that have taken the internet by storm!

But hey!

That's the internet for you and on the internet memes are keeng!!

Thank you all so very much for watching make sure to subscribe so you can catch my next

video and stay up to date on all your favorite memes and trends!!

Who knows you may learn about something you never knew about before!!

I'll catch you beautiful people next time!

I know that I say this quite often, but it doesn't lessen my sincerity: thank you all

for subscribing to this channel, and for helping us reach over 62,000 subscribers.

Your continued support means the world to both of us.

Since the beginning of this year, this channel has gained around 40,000 subscribers.

Together, you have all taken this channel out of obscurity, to new heights, and onwards

still to even greater ones.

So, thank you all, again.

As I am sure many of you know, what many have termed the Youtube 'Adpocalypse' has affected

channels across the platform, including this one, greatly.

However, we can say that dawn may be in sight, and that this channel may yet survive the

apocalypse - thanks to your support.

To further aid us and keep The Paranormal Scholar going, many of you have suggested

that we launch a merchandise range.

This is something that we have wanted to do for a while now, but have struggled to know

how.

Then, we realised, why not involve you all - the people who give soul to this channel.

So, I invite the artists amongst you to submit your Fan Art to us for consideration to be

used in our merchandise designs.

Let your creativity flow!

On our website, we have set up a Fan Art page, where you can see what people have already

submitted, and submit your own Paranormal Scholar inspired artwork.

The Paranormal Scholar has always been about creating a community of people who have a

safe space in the infinity of cyberspace, to share their thoughts and ideas about the

paranormal.

This is why we want to showcase the personalities and individualities of those who comprise

The Paranormal Scholar community.

Simply click on the link on screen now, or in the description below, to send us your

work.

Ideally, we would like to launch our merchandise range on 1st of July.

However, you can still send Fan Art after that to be shown on our website.

If you are not an artist, we would still like to hear from you.

Do you think merchandise is a good idea?

And, what sorts of things would you like to see?

We cannot wait to see the artwork you come up with!

And remember to complete and share our survey, if you wish to help with our documentary In

Search of the Dead.

Remember, the more you know, the more there is to fear.

Taeyeon Gives The Middle Finger And Sings "Fuck You" During Concert Performance - Duration: 1:09.

Taeyeon Gives The Middle Finger And Sings "Fuck You" During Concert Performance

Taeyeon surprised fans as she stuck her middle finger out and said Fuck you, baby during her performance.

The lyrics are part of her song, Im OK and is all about telling off a guy Taeyeon is annoyed with. This isnt the first time Taeyeon has changed up the lyrics for this song! She fiercly sang Bullshit baby once before.

The original lyrics are No thanks, baby but clearly Taeyeon thinks thats a little too tame for the song!.

The song was performed as part of Taeyeons Asia Tour Persona in Hong Kong, on June 10th.

Tim and Eric: Finding Comedy Through Sound - Duration: 8:31.

If you enjoyed this video give it a thumbs up
