YOUR MOUTH IS A WINDOW INTO YOUR HEALTH DENTAL INDUSTRY SCAMS - health - Duration: 10:51.

YOUR MOUTH IS A WINDOW INTO YOUR HEALTH: DENTAL INDUSTRY SCAMS & HOW TO DETOX YOUR MOUTH

So many of us who are interested in health completely disregard our teeth and our mouths.

We forget that our bodies are a holistic and interconnected system, one that can only function

optimally if everything is running smoothly. If your liver wasnt working properly, it

would affect your entire body. Well, the same could be said about your mouth.

Your mouth is the gateway to your body, which you use to either nourish it with healthy

foods or destroy it with toxins. Whatever you put in your mouth ends up affecting your

entire body drastically. A cleaner mouth isnt just aesthetically pleasing, its crucial

for your overall health, as it can play a key role in disease prevention. Poor oral

health has been linked to inflammation, diabetes, heart disease, and even cancer.

Risks of Poor Dental Health

More than 500 species of bacteria can be found in the oral cavity of a healthy mouth, and

they can be beneficial or harmful for the health of your mouth. The good bacteria,

also referred to as probiotics, can aid in digestion, synthesize vitamins, and protect

our mouths from the bad bacteria. The bad bacteria is often what causes disease

and various mouth-related health problems such as bad breath, gingivitis, periodontitis,

cavities, and plaque build-up.

Taking note of the bacteria and toxin levels in our mouths isnt just crucial for the

health of our mouths, but our entire bodies. Infections and bacterial overgrowth in the

mouth can affect the entire body, moving throughout it and causing other health problems such

as heart disease, bacterial pneumonia, diabetes, and low birth weight.

One study proved that poor dental health can actually result in endocarditis, an infection

of the inner lining of your heart. This can happen when germs and bacteria from your mouth

spread throughout your bloodstream and attach themselves to damaged areas of your heart.

Another study looked at brain samples from ten patients without dementia and compared

them to ten patients with dementia. The research suggested that there was a link between dementia

and chronic periodontal (gum) disease as well as Alzheimers.

The researchers explained, This new research indicates a possible association between gum

disease and individuals who may be susceptible to developing Alzheimers disease, if exposed

to the appropriate trigger!

Dr. Josef Issels, MD, a well-known cancer specialist, asks all of his cancer patients

to have their dead teeth removed. In his book Cancer: A Second Opinion, he explains his

methods for healing cancer and the link the mouth has to the disease. Dr. Issels has worked

with 16,000 cancer patients over the course of 40 years and approximately 90% of his patients

had multiple dead teeth in their mouths. He discusses in his book and provides compelling

evidence on the link dead teeth have to cancer, as he argues the harmful toxins they release

can cause the disease.

So, why dont doctors look more carefully into our dental health when discussing treatment,

causes, and prevention of diseases?

The Issues and Politics Within the Dental Industry

If youre familiar with the issues with fluoride in our drinking water, you can likely

guess that theres a strong link between the government and the dental industry. The

American Dental Association (ADA) spends a lot of money to get their foot into the door

of politics, throwing the U.S. government millions of dollars to influence legislation.

Between 2009 and 2012, the ADA spent a shocking $39 million on lobbying efforts. The ADA has

worked very hard to keep dental costs extremely high for citizens, making it practically unavailable

to low-income households.

Much of what the dental industry supports and encourages consumers to purchase and use

to improve oral health actually poses numerous threats to our dental health. Commercial

toothpastes primarily use toxic substances as a means to clean your mouth, as the

ingredients in regular toothpastes can cause enamel damage, dental flourosis, stomach ailments,

skin rashes, and more.

One of the worst ingredients found in most conventional and dentist approved toothpastes

is fluoride. Fluoride has been a known neurotoxin for a long time, but the government claims

it benefits our teeth. In reality, its not even known to actually prevent the buildup

of harmful oral bacteria; however, it is known to be toxic, with long-term ingestion linked

to brain, heart, and bone issues. You can get fluoride free toothpaste here.

Conventional dentists also use a mixture of toxic substances to fill your teeth, commonly

referred to as silver fillings in the North American dental industry, consisting

primarily of mercury, silver, copper, and tin. The amalgam is actually 50% mercury,

which passes through cell membranes, across your blood-brain barrier, and directly into

your central nervous system, and can cause serious psychological, neurological, and immunological

issues. Every time you chew with a silver filling in your mouth, methylmercury is released,

resulting in the suppression of your immune system. Metal fillings pose a grave threat

to children in particular because their brains are still developing.

Many European countries have banned the use of these fillings and Canada has issued warnings

discouraging their use among children and pregnant women. However, the US Food and Drug

Administration (FDA) and the American Dental Association (ADA) still havent addressed

this issue sufficiently (source). Check out this Dr. Mercola article regarding alternatives

to mercury fillings and the many countries that use them.

Clearly, were not being told the full story when it comes to our dental health, particularly

how to actually care for our teeth. In addition, our mouths can also show us the health of

our bodies.

How Our Mouths Communicate Our Overall Health

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the tongue is a microcosm of the entire

body and will reflect its excesses and deficiencies. The shape, colour, coating, and texture of

the tongue can indicate digestive issues and body imbalances.

Tongue areas correspond to internal organs in Chinese Medicine; much like reflexology,

different parts of the tongue correspond to different organs. As a mirror of the bodys

digestive system, the tongue can reflect the toxicity level in the gut, show potential

food sensitivities or a weak digestion, point to malabsorption of nutrients, and reveal

the health of other organs in the body.

This diagram illustrates which organs relate to certain areas of the tongue:

Alternatively, the colour and shape of your tongue can depict emotional and physical ailments.

Check out this diagram that shows you how your tongue can communicate the overall health

of your body:

What Is Your Tongue Telling You About Your Health?

According to TCM, Qi energy is everywhere on Earth; when youre healthy, Qi is flowing

freely through you, whereas when youre unhealthy, you either have a blockage from

Qi or your Qi tank is low. Meridians are essentially energy highways that hold

and transport Qi, blood, and fluids throughout the body.

Conditions in the mouth have a profound potential to reflect and influence the health

of the whole person. Disruptions to the flow of energy through the mouth may affect remote

regions of the body and disruptions elsewhere may manifest in the mouth. These relationships

are a result of communication between the Acupuncture Meridians and the Teeth.

The Center For Holistic Dentistry (source)

According to the meridian system, poor oral health can result in poor organ health as

well as energy blockages.

Check out this chart that shows the relationships between organs and teeth in regards to TCM:

How Can We Detox Our Mouths and Keep Them Healthy?

Its clear that our mouths can communicate some of the bodily problems we have, or alternatively

they can cause problems if our oral health is poor. So, armed with this knowledge, how

can we put it to good use?

For starters, search for any signs your mouth is giving you that could mean your body is

in distress. Check out your tongue and your teeth, but even burping can indicate that

your body is detoxing.

You should also try your best to only use safe products and reduce your intake of toxins.

Brush regularly using an organic tooth brush, replace your toothbrush every few months and/or

after being sick, use fluoride-free/all-natural toothpaste, floss using tea tree oil, eat

organic plant-based foods, and regularly visit a dentist.

Some great ways to detox the mouth include:

Oil pulling

Oil pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic practice that involves swishing vegetable oil in your

mouth for 20 minutes to eliminate toxins from the mouth and body, whiten teeth, remove plaque,

support kidney function, relieve migraines, and more. You can read more about this in

our CE article here.

Tongue scraping

Perhaps the fastest way to clean bacterial buildup is through the Ayurvedic practice

of tongue scraping. This practice is known to improve taste receptors, improve bad breath,

aid digestion, and improve overall oral health. You can read more about that in our CE article

here.

Green tea

Drinking green tea can actually improve the health of your mouth, as this study showed.

Amongst many other health benefits, green tea has antimicrobial properties that can

aid in controlling your oral microbes.

Final Thoughts

The medical industry often looks at an issue and only focuses on treating the symptom,

rather than the root cause. We cover up our pains with pharmaceutical products instead

of actually looking at the root cause and treating and preventing that.

Our mouths play an important role in determining our overall health, meaning they can also

play a role in treating it. Be conscious of what youre putting into your body through

your mouth and take note of the signals your mouth is sending you about your health.

See Me with Rebecca Gray // How To Write A Song #24 - Duration: 8:12.

This week's song is inspired by a conversation with Rebecca Gray who I

have not met in person.

But we met through a Facebook group for graduates of our college

and it was so fun talking to her.

She's a super interesting person, passionate person who's actually worked

in music which is how we sort of connected in the Barnard group.

When I was in ninth grade my orchestra director---I'd been a classical percussionist

and I was in the high school orchestra since I was sixth grade--in

sixth grade (we were on the same campus) and he said, "Hey Rebecca,

I'm gonna need you to learn oboe."

And I was like why...? Why would you have this kid...

I've never played a wind instrument in my life, like seriously. He was like, well,

you're like the most interested in music at this school. Like you bring home a new

instrument every week like you can read music you're interested. Our oboist is

going to be graduating next year, I'm going to need you to learn oboe.

So I did.

I like took a couple oboe lessons. I started learning oboe and by the next

year I was second oboe, and the year after that I was first oboe. And I think

like that is pretty representative of someone seeing you, and being like, hey!

You've shown that you're really interested in this, now do this other

crazy thing and master it. And like, I think that helped me a lot as you know a

15 year old being seen as someone who was interested in passionate and

everyone knew it. And being like yeah, okay, even though you're the percussionist

you're like the best musician in the class, so learn this other thing.

I really liked

Rebecca's story about her orchestra teacher. I thought that was really sweet.

And the reason that it affected me so much is that it made me think of

different people in my life that make me feel really seen.

It's so super hot

today so I don't feel like playing guitar much.

I kind of wanna go more of

an a capella type root.

Okay..let me record the first thing that I thought of

I don't beatbox but I'm thinking of making the percussion...be more like uh..

something.

(breathing rhythmically)

♫ Do you see me? ♫

(snapping)

Okay, now I gotta write lyrics. And figure out

where else the song is going. So this "do you see me" part is the umm...uh!

that's the chorus...recurring thing. And it's... you know what's my mind is like are you

fortunate enough? Are you fortunate enough to be seen?

♫ Unconditionally? ♫

Have you gotten the gift of...have you gotten the gift of being known?

For exactly who you want to be.

Yeah, I think of this. A few relationships that I have that I feel

truly seen.

In my adult life I strive to be myself at all times.

The...the even the

reason that Rebecca reached out to me and we ended up talking in the first

place was through this project and the fact that I'm like, just being myself.

I had an idea, I liked my idea, and I'm doing my idea.

And that's like the fundamental reason that I can I'm continuing to do this project.

Like, yes I want certain things for myself like part of it is I want to

reach more people and get my music more out in the world. Part of it is that I

want to write more consistently, but the biggest part of it is that I just want

to do it.

And I feel like certain people in the world that maybe that either I

knew before or that I didn't know before are seeing this project even if it's

just a small amount of people like already I feel like people that actually

see me or that vibe with me are coming into my life more fully through this project.

Maybe off the bridge. Be yourself at all times.

Be yourself at all times...I like that. Be yourself at all times.

Try and you'll see what I mean. I want it to be like...

♫ Hmmmmm

It's easier than it may seem.

It's *harder* than it may seem.

If you take the time, you'll see what I mean.

♫ If you take the time ♫

Let's record a little bit more.

♫ Do you have the gift of being known for exactly who you want to be? ♫

One more verse, okay. I'm getting so fucking sweaty and hot.

Without this fan on.

Does anybody know about sharp hip pain in your fucking hip? Ow.

Goddamn. Cats, do you know why it hurts me?

First you have to see yourself.

♫ (rhythmic breathing / snapping) ♫

♫ Do you see me?

(and I'm wondering)

♫ See me.

(And I'm wondering: if this is really there or if I'm dreaming?)

♫ Are you fortunate enough to be seen

(there's a place for this you know)

♫ Unconditionally.

(Keep it in your head, keep it in the unknown)

♫ Do you have the gift of being known for exactly who you want to be?

(No, no. I don't think so)

♫ Do you see me? ♫

♫ Do you see me? ♫

(this is crazy)

like I can barely breathe cause maybe I can finally be me

♫ Do you see me?

(no, no, stop your daydreaming)

♫ Do you see me?

this is not the time or place, head down, stop imagining

♫ Be yourself at all times. It's harder than it may seem.

♫ If you take the time, you'll see what I mean.

♫ Do you see me?

(do you see what I mean? can you really see me?)

♫ Do you see me?

(maybe i should finally start believing in me)

♫ Do you see me?

(but what if I fall? but what if i can't take it?)

♫ do you see me?

(do you promise me that you'll always be there?)

♫ First you have to see yourself.

♫ Then you might be seen.

♫ Promise me you'll take care

(i promise)

♫ to blow away the smokescreen.

♫ Do you see me? ♫

(Fine. I'm doing it I'm doing it let's go)

♫ Do you see me? ♫

I'm telling you from this day I'll be me I'll be me I'll be me

♫ Do you see me? ♫

(Fine, I'm doing it I'm doing it let's go)

♫ Do you see me? ♫

(This conversation in my head, I'll let it be known, I'll let it be known)

Bye UC Davis | [Elevated & Meaningful] - Duration: 4:47.

So, I'm pretty much done with my quarter

my final quarter here at UC Davis

I'm sitting in the grass where I usually

used to make my videos

a lot of people, you know, are getting ready to graduate

I see people walking around getting photos taken of them

with their graduation, I don't know what you call the yellow thing

that I am going to be wearing as well

yeah!

it's a really hot day, but it's beautiful

I just wanted to make a video to thank UC Davis

for being so very good

great institution, great school

vibe here was amazing

a lot of people were really truly friendly

if you make an effort to talk to people, they will respond

I didn't see any fights here

it's really different

I went to community college but

here people were much more friendly than community college

also, people that are here are typically very motivated

very driven, purpose oriented, goal oriented all of the good stuff

so, you really get to talk to people who have dreams

have vision, have a sense of purpose that could be very important for some people

yeah so I just wanted to make this video to thank the campus here

I don't know if ever I'm going to be back here, maybe in the future

and another thing I want to talk about is

it was really this school, UC Davis

where I began making my videos

where I began asking people questions and approaching them

at random

to me really this place lent itself to making videos

and I though that was amazing

I don't think I would have done what I did here at a community college

I was in a community college before this place, and I did not make any videos

so, definitely allowed me to try this out and see if I enjoy doing it

and it was actually something I enjoyed

so I kept doing it

I know I didn't make a lot of videos, I could have made more

but, I think the amount of videos I made here were pretty good

I'm thinking of making more videos when I move to the new place

I'm going be going to for grad school

definitely going to be making a lot of videos there

talking to people

pretty much the same way as I made videos here

so, here if I recap, in the beginning I was able to buy equipment

like a good camera, good sound, audio mic

and other accessories that I needed for making this happen

and I approached people initially, with an idea or question in mind

that I usually like to talk about

and then, I found out I really enjoyed it

so, I continued making videos like that

and then, I think I improved the way I make my videos

made it more interesting to watch, made them shorter

and to the point

obviously I can improve

then I was able to even interview a professor

like one of my videos, the one that says "Can Scientists Believe in God?"

with Dr. Enderle

that definitely to me is a memorable experience

I am glad he allowed me to interview him

especially in the middle of the quarter

he was very kind

very nice person

I enjoyed our conversation

and I hope in the future, I could make similar videos with professors and educators

so anyway, this is just a video to thank UC Davis for everything

I'm sitting here, not many students are around

I think yesterday was a lot of people's last final and it feels lonely and it's pretty sad

that I'm not going to be here

but it has to happen, change has to come

and we got to be open to it

so, thanks guys!

stay tuned for my next video, I guess

make sure to share my videos

if you like the one's that I made in the past

again, I want to see comments if you guys have any

don't be afraid of sharing

and hit the like button if you want

if you haven't subscribed please do

for you guys who know about my channel

I want to encourage you to let others know if they don't about my YouTube channel

anyway, see you guys next time

A Yarn & Craft Haul (CC) Annie Thyme Creates - Duration: 8:08.

hi, Annie here and as you may be able to tell from what's sitting behind me,

and the title of this video, this is going to be a yarn and craft haul. And this is stuff I

bought on several different from several different places but anyway I hope you

find this interesting. So anyway,

the first thing I have here is four balls of

this monster ball of worsted weight yarn and it's acrylic yarn. I don't know if it

will come up on camera. It's a gorgeous, bright, royal purple, like really luminous

and just lovely! I think there's so many things this will look good with and

I'm really excited to use it. I got four balls of this at a tent sale at the

Listowel yarn outlet -spinrite they also have a store online if you want to

browse at all but it's a great place especially as there are Tent sales and yeah.

I have four balls of this it's just a really gorgeous luminous bright purple

and it is worsted weight. It is nylon and acrylic; so really soft so I'm

looking forward to using that. The next thing I have is bernat blanket yarn.

The Walmart in Canada was celebrating its 25th anniversary, I think, anyways

it was a big anniversary and they had these balls on for five dollars so

that's a pretty good price it's half price- it's definitely cheaper than you'd

normally see them. I have six balls of... it's a wine kind of burgundy color

and it says yeah it's that's all I've got. Then I've got six balls of that

and then I bought five balls of white and then they also had the cream-

Which is tumbling behind me and they all have the cream, and I got that because it goes

better with the colour I'd already had in the closet that I'd wanted something to

go with. I had some extra from another sale but I think actually it was in my

last haul video but I had some of that and I decided that I wanted some cream to make

a pattern with, so I have I think six balls of cream. I also

got the white because I wanted to get enough to top up, again I'd had a couple

balls previously that I bought of this Easter Egg color and although it's

really nice I didn't have enough to really do anything other than a scarf

with, and it does make a nice scarf but I really thought it would make a lovely

blanket. We did find two more balls of the Easter eggs but that I got

the white as well because it will again go with the other colors I've got but

also if I want to like, bulk out the other one to make sure I have enough or

the size I want I can use white because the color that is in like the variation

of that is white. Anyway, that's a lot of talking for not

much information. Otherwise I've ended up with two more balls of this red heart

worsted weight comfort yarn in royal blue, and the labels coming

off- I'm gonna let it go, and this one I had mentioned previously that I was

looking for something to go with it well I was lucky and found a color that

completely matched the squares I'd already done and so I've been trying I

didn't think I was going to have enough to do just a blue blanket but I am going

to because I had I found two more balls of it

so I've already used the other ball as knitted, not knitted, I've crocheted it

all up; so this is the one that I have yet to do because I have a lot of those

squares floating around the house right now.

I managed to get to Michael's recently and I've been really inspired by

watching the frugal crafter and she's convinced me, basically by watching her

videos, that I in fact will be able to do watercolors and acrylics and

also potentially make some cards. They had a bunch of the stuff in

the discount bin at the front of the store and so I picked some stuff up

to try. The first thing I have is these packs of cards and there's six in

this one and eight in this one, and this one

your probably not gonna be able to see, it's a slightly raised floral pattern in

the one corner I think it's told me the bottom but I don't know if you'll be

able to see that but it's just otherwise it's just a white card and envelopes.

This one here has eight in it and it has a little bunting kind of strung across

the top and I've really already got an idea of what I want to do with these and

some watercolors and stamps and I'm just going to have at it because apparently

this is my life now! I also got a little package of mini cards to to make

and I think there's ten in there. So also in that bin, and this is

really like I just decided to go for it now, I ended up getting some fonts- like stamped

alphabets and those two because they

look like the typewriter letters and so I thought I might be able to do

something quite cute with them. Again, I've got a project for a specific person

in mind that I want to try doing those with. Then I also got more of a

basic lowercase that doesn't look, you know, it doesn't look so specific and

block capitals as well because I thought that there'd be times when I just

wanted something that looked a bit cleaner than me type written style

Also, in that dollar-fifty bin they had more stamps and so I got

this one which is there aretwo actually in there. There's a happy birthday

and then some balloons and so I thought they'd potentially go with the

bunting one and then this one here: which one of them says kisses and the other

one's two hearts and my brother and I have this weird thing that started off as

kisses and then turned into kiss kiss and now we never really hang up the

phone or leave the room from one another without saying it- it's weird.

It started off to annoy each other and has then become our thing because

apparently we just turned it into something different.

Anyway so I got that for that reason and then I also picked up this set of

four and they're all, kind of, Canadian symbols they had a tonne of Canadian type

stamps some of them were really dubious. I would question who would use some of

them. I certainly.... some of them were just a bit... much, but anyway and has these ones

I really liked I like the fleur-de-lis, the crown, the cross, and the key. I think

again as far as doing some bigger designs those will be great

in the background. Again, I've been watching Lindsay from Frugal Crafter far

too much she's taught me how to layer and all this crap and it's going to ruin me

I think. And then the last thing I got is this and it is a big stamp it was marked

down from $18 to 7 and it is kind of like an old-time Railway poster and

again I thought this would be a great background, like lightly stamp to do this.

Again the frugal crafter might have ruined my bank account and potentially

my spare time. and by ruined I mean given me something that I didn't think I'd be

able to do and all of a sudden think I can. Let me know if you do crafst and

also if you've got any crafty youtuber type people you think I should follow

I Had To Forgive Myself For Loving You ! - Duration: 3:40.

I Had To Forgive Myself For Loving You

It was never you that hurt me; I hurt myself.

I brought it upon myself when I turned a blind eye to the half promises and let downs.

I had painstaking mapped out my own destruction every time I ignored all the warning signs that were flashing in neon lights.

I'm not saying what you did was right, I'm not saying you didn't play a part, but in the end I should have known this would happen.

And when it did, I should have let go.

We started out like every new love does.

We shared pieces of ourselves that we had previously kept secret from the rest of the world.

But what I wasn't paying attention to was how much more I was willing to share.

How much more I was willing to give.

You gave just enough to peak my interest, just enough to keep me wanting more.

Since I had so little of you, it hurt knowing I had relinquished so much more of myself.

The pain I was feeling wasn't the thought of losing you, because I never truly had you.

The real heartache was the realization I had lost myself.

And when we talked about the future, you worded everything so carefully.

You spoke in hopes and dreams, when I was making invariable plans.

You always talked about us moving across the country, starting our life over in this city or that.

You knew that would never happen, they weren't in the cards we were playing.

But I fell for the bluff, I fell for the web of fantasies you were spinning.

It's so obvious now you weren't planning for the same future I was, but my judgement was clouded with my desire for you.

It wasn't you I had trouble letting go of, it was the idea of you I had created.

These were the thoughts that haunted me in the days after you were gone.

There was nothing that I was truly missing about you, it was the disappointment in myself.

Again I had opened my heart to someone who had no intentions of opening theirs.

I let myself believe that this time would be different when even you were warning me at every turn to walk away.

But walking away was hard.

My feet were stuck in the cement foundation I had built around you.

It was trying to break through that, building myself back up that would take so much out of me.

It was like walking through a fire that I had set ablaze, trying to piece together the parts of my heart that I had shattered with my own

vulnerability.

I never had to teach myself to forgive you, but it took months to forgive myself.

I had to learn to love the parts of me that had done this.

I had to learn to let go of the pain they caused.

I had to accept that even though this pain was self-inflicted, that I would be okay.

I had to accept that this would be a lesson learned and I would rise again.
