Dreams & Mysteries - The Mystery of the Divine Romance - Duration: 28:32.
Romance, love, the sparks shared
when two people connected a heart to heart level.
Stories have been told and movies created about the extent
that lovers will go to so that they
can be together, and fulfill that longing for connection
that we call love.
Nations have risen and fallen over romance.
Businesses have grown and collapsed
because of love affairs.
Love stories capture the imagination
and tell stories that reach to the very heart of humanity.
Pay attention to what happens in your own heart
when you hear names like Romeo and Juliet, Lancelot
and Guinevere, Paris and Helen of Troy, Scarlett O'Hara
and Rhett Butler.
Hearts race, desire is stirred, a longing
to be a part of a story like that grows, unless we fight it
down, determined to not let our longing be
acknowledged so that we're not disappointed once again.
But deep inside, every one of us desires to know love--
real love-- or as has become popular, true love.
Where does that desire comes from?
Why is romance the source of the greatest joy
yet also for some, the deepest pain?
Why has this longing for love captured hearts
throughout history in various cultures
in every epoch of human history?
What's the source?
And more importantly, what will the fulfillment actually
be like?
Join me as we explore the mystery of the divine romance.
[music playing]
NARRATOR: This is Dreams and Mysteries.
Before any story had yet been told,
before there were man or woman to tell the story about,
before the first star had been hung in the universe,
there was love.
God the Father entertained the knowledge of himself
that was so full and complete, so total and perfect,
that the knowledge itself became another--
the Logos, the understanding that God had of himself,
the exact representation of who he was
in entirety, nothing lacking.
God, whose perfect knowledge--
and no limit to what he knows-- knew himself.
The one who is, not just was or will be,
the perfection of wisdom, the unlimited infinite one
comprehended the fullness of himself.
And the thought that he had of himself,
being the fullness of the divine nature
was himself distinct, yet one unique, yet undivided.
This is the Son.
This same God, knowing himself fully and completely,
without partiality or bias, recognized his own beauty
and glory, and loved himself.
The Son who was the knowledge the Father had of Himself,
saw the Father, and love exploded from his being.
Never not having known himself, this love
had no beginning, just as the knowledge of himself
had no beginning.
But it proceeded from himself.
The love that the Father had for the Son,
and the Son had for the Father--
being so full and complete--
had to stand outside of the source,
even though it was one with the source.
The love shared was another--
absolute and pure, distinct, yet one.
The love was the Spirit--
the substance of the high opinion--
that the Father shared for the Son, the glory
that the Son gave to the Father.
The Spirit-- who is love--
flowed between the Father and the Son,
and the three were one, and the love they shared
was pure, beautiful, and uncontainable in perfect
fellowship with each other.
They chose to prepare a bride the Son.
The love they shared was so wonderful
that they longed to bring another
into their love to share in the love they have for one another.
What created thing could ever give the Son
the love that he deserved?
What created thing could ever compare
with the glory contained with this eternal being of light
and love?
How could there be an answer for the longing of his heart?
The one being brought into this relationship must be like Him.
The source of all that is good and true
must carry his essence, reflect his glory, be made in is image.
With that decision, the choice to bring another
into the love they shared, the plan was made to create.
Start with light.
The one who is light spoke, "Let there be light."
And it was.
And from that light, all of creation came into being.
Galaxies formed.
Stars named balanced perfectly to sustain life
on one little piece of dirt on the edge of a small galaxy
somewhere in the universe.
And the One who was light, which is the life of man,
brought forth life on that small planet,
forming earth and sea, creatures and fauna to live in each.
And at the end of it all, the culmination of the plan
of love, he took dirt.
He formed it himself into the form of man,
and breathed his spirit, the very love he had for himself
into that man, and he became a living being.
After time passed, it became evident to that man
that something was missing.
In the midst of perfection, no lack, no fear, no hunger,
full of purpose, and completely supplied, it was good,
but not yet very good.
The man by himself was incomplete.
Complete The full image of God could not be realized.
God put the man to sleep, took a rib from his side,
and formed it into a woman, and brought her to the man.
As he saw this one, his heart exploded and he sang out,
this one at last is bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh, woman she would be called for out
of man she was taken.
And the two who were originally one, became one.
And the first love story was told.
Or was it?

To understand this mystery, we must look below the surface.
Notice that out of man, there was
taken of his very substance, the fabric of what became woman.
It was a rib from his side.
Part of what contained his heart and protected
the engine of life within him.
Out of that rib--
totally him, but not all of him--
God formed a woman.
A helpmate, one who completes what is lacking,
one who makes full, and consummated the potential
of being human.
But that was not the first time that it happened.
In the beginning, the one who was light
had taken from his very own substance
the fabric of creation.
He had taken of his spirit and caused the man
to be a living spirit.
When God formed the earth, he was
foretelling what was coming.
When he formed the man, he continued that story.
And when he brought the woman to the man, the story continued.
Each time it became clearer.
The promise was being communicated.
God was prophesying through his activity.
His acts were anticipating something more.
He was taking from himself a part of himself
that would be fully him, and yet not all of him.
And making another who would complete
the desire of his own heart, to share the overflow of
love that he had had from the beginning.
But like every good love story, this one
had to have tension brought into it.
The man-- the recipients of the love that God had for himself
that he longed to share--
chose another love.
He put something else above God.
He put his wife and his own desires
above the one who had caused him to be.
He chose to join his wife and eat
of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
He doubted God's good intention for him
and tried to take care of himself.
Real love cannot be manipulated.
Real love can't be forced or coerced, it must be given
or it's not real.
It requires participation or it's empty.
So God did not force Adam and Eve to stay.
He let them make their choice.
And he let that choice make them.
They lost the source of life-- the life of humankind--
and began to grow old, weak, and die.
They could not continue eating of the Tree of Life
and sharing the unbroken fellowship they had with God.
Even though God allowed them to make their choice,
he didn't give up.
He called them, he provided for them, he
stopped them from destroying themselves completely.
And then he chose a friend--
someone who gave his affections freely-- to walk with.
And he promised that there was going
to be a day when all of mankind would be blessed through him.
He watched over his descendants, setting
them free from oppression and slavery,
showing them the path of love, constantly
calling out to them through prophets and circumstances
to give them opportunities to show
the love that he longed for.
Some did, some didn't.
But he never gave up.
He chose an outed people to be a bride
and they kept on turning away from him, just like Adam had.
The perfect heart-- that so much love
that he wanted to include another in that love--
was breaking again, and again.
He had one of his friends live a life that revealed how he felt.
He told Hosea, I want you to go marry a prostitute.
So Hosea went, he brought her home, he married her.
They had this commitment to one another.
And she decided that her many lovers
were a better choice than a steady home
and the safety of family.
She went back out in the streets,
continuing her life of whoring.
And the voice came again.
Hosea, go buy her again.
Pay the fee of a prostitute to get your wife
to come home again.
She returned to her old life, her previous loves,
her ability to provide for herself
so she didn't have to trust or rely on anyone else.
Do you feel the divine heart crying out?
I wanted you.
I've been faithful to you and provided for you.
I've given you what you needed, and even what you wanted.
Just stay with me.
And again and again, people turn their backs on his cries
and went about their lives, selling their affections
for the praise of man, the glory of success,
the suppose in safety of wealth, or just
the comfort of the familiar.
At the perfect time, he sent his son--
the object of his love-- to come and call
his people to his heart.
Perhaps if they could see how he felt.
Maybe if they knew his intention.
What if he showed his power, his compassion,
in his ability to care for them.
Again they rejected him, killed him, hung him on the cross.
And once more a man was put to sleep.
A hole was made in his side.
And once more, God took what came out of that hole--
blood and water-- to make a bride.
That blood makes restitution for as many as will respond.
It covers over the sin and the rebellion
of hearts determined to care for themselves
and make their own way.
Draws back to the start, to the beginning,
where we can hear his voice again say, Adam, where are you?
Come, walk with me.
The church was born out of that sacrifice.
The man was woken from his sleep and the bride has been shown.
And Jesus sings over you and I. This one at last
is bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh.
She shall be called Christian, for out of Christ she
was taken.
That's why he left his home to come to us,
so that we'll leave our home to come to him.
This is the divine romance.

DREAMER: I dreamt I woke up in the middle of the night.
I noticed something unusual through the windows,
and to get a better look, I walked out the front door.
(Door opening)
When I walked outside, I realized I was somewhere else.
I looked up, and saw that the sky was full of stars.
I could also see some planets that were very close,
it almost felt like I could reach out and touch them
Some dreams are more than dreams,
and while there is a metaphor in this dream,
it is more of a spiritual encounter.
While things I was familiar with,
such as my house, were normal,
God is saying He will be opening up my
spiritual eyes to Heavenly realities.
He would be drawing me into encounters
through what seemed like small invitations.
The stars and planets represent the Heavens,
and God is showing me I have a gift to see
that Heavenly reality. And it will be so real
it will be like I can just reach out and touch
the spiritual things I will be shown.

The apostle Paul was talking about the relationship
between husbands and wives in his letter to the Ephesians.
He explained how a bride should submit
to their husbands, a picture of the submission
that the church carries towards Jesus.
Then he describes the kind of sacrificial love
that a husband should have for his wife.
Not putting his own needs above hers, but living for her,
even dying for her.
He talks about how a husband should talk about his wife
like Jesus did, removing spots and wrinkles by washing her,
cleansing her with what he says about her and to her.
And he concludes the discussion with this phrase,
this is a great mystery.
But I'm talking about Christ and the Church.
When God instituted marriage, his plan
was that the relationship of husband and wife
has will be a prophetic picture of the relationship
that he longs to have with the church.
It says that when a man and a wife marry,
they become one flesh.
What was two becomes one.
It says in 1 Corinthians 6:17 that whoever belongs to Jesus,
becomes one spirit with him.
It's the same picture.
We take on his name, we share his possessions,
we're brought into his inheritance.
We have everything that he has, and he gets everything
that we had.
Our name, our identity changes, we leave life the way
that it was before--
living for ourselves and doing our own thing--
and we begin to live for him, taking on his name.
The whole point of creation was so that the Son
could have a bride.
It was all done so that you and I could
respond to the divine heart and come into the love
that the three shared from before time began.
Our hearts are moved by stories of love
because we were created for love.
It cries out in our hearts because our hearts were
formed for that very purpose.
But some of us hurt when we hear these stories.
Maybe our story has been different.
Instead of the Happily Ever After that we'd hoped for,
there are broken hearts and shared children,
empty beds and broken homes.
When we tried to trust, that trust was betrayed.
And we've learned to hide our hearts any desire for love.
Love is like a rose.
It's pretty and all, but you've got
to watch out for the thorns.
God knows the pain that comes from opening up
your heart to love.
He knows the pain of betrayal.
Through the messenger Isaiah, he speaks
of giving his bride a certificate of divorce
because she had betrayed him again and again.
He knows the pain.
Remember Hosea?
He's not unfamiliar with the flush of anger
and hurt knowing that the one that he had married
was sleeping with someone else.
He knows the pain, but he still reaches out.
He still longs for you and I and he
is more than willing to heal you of your pain and restore hope.
And not in hoping human promises,
but in the divine romance.
He knows what it feels like.
Which is why he's the only one that you can truly
trust with that pain.
Let me tell you a secret.
When you share with him your pain,
he's also the only one that can truly
heal you and set you free.
It is time to let go of the past and believe again.
It's time to let that flush of excitement over true love
define it's only fulfillment.
Its time for you to say yes to his invitation
and completely commit your heart and life to him.
He's waiting.
He's been waiting since before time began.
NARRATOR: Is there a secret to walking in supernatural power?

God took of himself and created.
The one who is light said, let there be light.
The universe was formed and he put his attention
on one planet, one small piece of dirt
on the edge of the small galaxy.
He formed man in his image to carry the glory of God
to be like him.
And when he brought us back from our rebellion,
he filled us anew with his precious sweet spirit
so that we can love him as he deserved.
Only God could love God with the love that God deserves.
So God sent God did die so that God
could be given God as a reward.
You get the idea it's all about God?
And he poured himself out on those that shared in his death,
giving them the life that he purchased, filling them
with his own spirit so that he could have
a bride for his Son that would love him as he should be loved,
he deserved to be loved.
Only God can love like that.
So we become one with his Spirit--
who is love-- so that we can love like God
and God's heart would be satisfied.
Where are you at?
Are you hiding from his presence because of shame?
Are you running from his love because you
want to provide for yourself and not have to trust?
Are you dipping your toes into the water,
trying to see if his love is safe,
testing it out before you throw yourself completely in?
It's a marriage he's looking for.
He's not trying to build a fan base,
he wants a bride for the Son.
Will you commit to that kind of relationship?
This one lasts longer than till death do us part.
This relationship will never end.
Death is no hold on those that have been
joined to the source of light.
Will you give your all?
Will you completely surrender?
This is a love story you've been looking for all your life.
This is the reason you exist.
This is the cry in your heart for importance and purpose.
God is pursuing you.
Romeo and Juliet are merely a shadow.
Paris and Helen of Troy can not compare.
God looks at you and his heart is ravished.
You carry the very beauty of creation.
You're made in his image and he longs for you.
Allow the longing that you have for him
to break out of the chains of convention in what is safe.
Let yourself believe.
Have faith in God.
He is faithful.
And this is one knight in shining armor
that will break in, riding his white horse,
destroy the dragon, and take you home to be with Him forever.
This is the mystery of the divine romance.
This is why you are alive.

Top 10 MYTHS About GUNS - Duration: 15:22.
Top 10 Myths About
Guns
10.
Suppressors (aka Silencers)
This myth regularly shows up on lists of lies Hollywood tells about guns (right next to
"if you run out of ammunition, throw away your gun").
Suppressors, sometimes called silencers, are designed to reduce the speed and sound of
the gas that propels the bullet out of the barrel of the gun.
The way a cartridge works is that a pin, or striker, in the gun hits a primer (usually
on the round,) which ignites powder and sends the bullet projectile out of the barrel.
By slowing the escaping gas, you can reduce the amount of sound produced.
It can also work by reducing the speed of the bullet, reducing the sonic boom or crack.
Again, you can reduce the sound, but not eliminate it.
On most rounds, you can get a 30-40 decibel reduction.
In quieter rounds, like the popular small-game .22 caliber, this means a pretty significant
reduction in volume from around 140 db to the 110-120 db range.
But still, that's a very loud sound, and repeated exposure can result in hearing loss.
You should always have hearing protection when using firearms.
9.
Semi-Automatic Firearms
When I say "semi-automatic", many people have an image in their head of a man on a
rooftop with an M16, pulling the trigger and firing off thousands of rounds (again, thanks
to Hollywood).
This is a false image.
In a semi-automatic firearm, whether it's a pistol (like the Glock 17), rifle (including
the controversial AR-15), or shotgun, when the round is fired, the expanding gas from
the cartridge launches the projectile and then opens the chamber, ejecting the spent
cartridge and, if available, using a spring system to slide the next cartridge into place
ready for the next trigger pull.
The gun will not fire the next round for you, and most guns are designed to prevent this
from happening.
This works out to one trigger pull per shot, similar to how you have to pull a trigger
in a revolver to fire the next round.
Fully automatic weapons, that fire multiple rounds with one trigger pull, do exist, but
they are mostly illegal for citizens to own in the United States (you have to go through
some serious federal licensing headaches).
8.
Assault Weapons
There's a lot of debate over the use of "assault" weapons, but sadly, there's
not a lot of actual information.
So let's sort through what we actually have.
Many gun rights advocates argue that there is no real definition of an assault weapon,
and they would be incorrect.
The term "assault weapon" was legally defined in the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban as
a semi-automatic firearm with a detachable magazine, that contains characteristics one
would find on military firearms.
Simply put, it's a civilian version of a military weapon.
Gun control advocates argue that assault weapons are much more dangerous than the average hunting
rifle.
And they are equally wrong.
The vast majority of add-ons that turn a hunting rifle into an assault rifle are mostly cosmetic:
pistol grips, folding stocks, flash suppressors – things that the shooter may appreciate,
but have no real bearing on the function of the gun or on its ability to fire rounds.
These are semi-automatic weapons: one trigger pull per shot, just like a revolver or your
granddad's hunting rifle.
7.
Stand Your Ground
In the US, while you do have a right to defend your life with deadly force, there are two
basic theories on how to apply that deadly force in self-defense: duty to retreat, and
stand your ground.
A few states in the US use a legal standard called "duty to retreat," which basically
says that, while you have the right to defend your life with deadly force, you need to make
every possible, reasonable effort to get away from your attacker before using that deadly
force.
While this sounds nice in theory, in practice it means that a person who has to use deadly
force to defend their lives may have to appear in court and be tried as a potential murderer,
spending tens of thousands of dollars and potentially ending up in
prison for the rest of their life, all because someone else tried to kill them and they didn't
want to die.
On the other end of the spectrum, you have "stand your ground," or "castle doctrine".
Basically, this doctrine states that whatever space you're occupying at the moment, you
do not have to leave that space, in order to defend your life.
If someone is coming to kill you, you can pull your weapon and stop them with deadly
force.
Some states that have this law also protect those who've used it from criminal and civil
liability.
Again, it's great in theory, but not so much in practice.
There have been dozens of cases where judges and juries have grossly misinterpreted these
laws, acquitting people who chased down attackers out of revenge.
Between the extremes, you also have a patchwork of laws around the country that fall somewhere
in the middle.
Some states allow a citizen to only use the castle doctrine defense in their homes.
Other states say they don't really have a duty to retreat in law, do so in practice.
Gun laws are very complex and that's why it's very important to know what they are
before you purchase and use a firearm.
6.
Magic Bullets
Every so often, there's a new concern over a new type of "cop killer" bullet that
will magically defeat everything in its path.
The truth of the matter is this: there is no such thing as a magic bullet.
However, knowing how your bullet will behave when it reaches its target is crucial in deciding
what kind of bullet you need to choose.
Let's talk about hollow point bullets.
Hollow point bullets are designed to dissipate their energy into their target, reducing penetration
into the target, thus lessening – but not eliminating – the likelihood of coming out
the other side and harming someone else.
In contrast, a full metal jacket is designed to penetrate its target, and continue until
it slows to a stop.
That's why hollow points are usually recommended as a good personal defense round; it's more
likely, should you have to use it, to stay in the bad guy and not harm anyone else.
Over the years, design names and manufacturing tricks have given some a great deal of concern.
The key to remember is that, at the end of the day, there's not much you can do to
a bullet to make it more or less dangerous that hasn't already been done.
5.
Self-Harm
You may have heard that you're 43 times more likely to kill yourself or someone you
know than you are to kill a criminal with a gun.
This statistic is from a study done by Dr. Arthur Kellerman back in 1986, and is used
by gun control advocates to challenge the usefulness of owning firearms.
But is it a myth?
And the answer is: kinda.
The devil is very much in the details of the strongly criticized study.
Part of the problem is that Kellerman, in his study, only focused on gun deaths and
not gun use, ignoring incidents where guns protected, but did not take, life.
He was also criticized for failing to provide complete data, recognize contradictory studies,
and include suburban or rural areas in his studies.
However, common sense does dictate that people who own guns are more likely to use them than
people who don't, often in tragic ways.
Statistics show that more gun deaths occur via suicide than by homicide and accidental
shootings combined.
My personal advice is that if you do choose to own a weapon, please make sure that those
who you trust have a plan to remove your guns in case you show signs of suicidal behavior.
If you are having suicidal thoughts, please get help.
In the US, you can call the National Suicide Prevention Helpline at 1-800-273-8255.
4.
It's Easy to Buy a Gun
After tragic events, there's often a focus on how firearms are acquired by members of
the general public, usually focusing on strengthening requirements and restricting access to certain
types of weapons.
The result has been a series of laws that have been designed to keep guns out of the
wrong people's hands.
If you've never bought a gun, you may be surprised at all the hoops you have to jump
through to get one.
To start off with, many states have some sort of licensing or permitting process for guns
and gun owners, which can take weeks or months to complete.
Once you have your permit or license, you have to meet a fairly long set of federal
requirements (age, legal status, mental status,) in order to purchase a firearm.
Federal firearms license dealers are required, by law, to do an instant background check
on you, to make sure you're not on the FBI's long list of people who aren't allowed to
own a gun.
Only after you jump through all the hoops, are you allowed to walk out the door with
your gun.
Even private sales between people can be very complex.
There's also the part where you have to pay money for your gun.
Guns, in case you've never been shopping for one, tend to be expensive, and fluctuating
supply and demand can quickly drive prices up.
Even in the cheapest of times, guns are an expensive investment.
You can easily expect to spend $300-600 on a decent lower-cost handgun, rifle, or shotgun,
and it's very easy to spend more.
This doesn't include the cost of licensing, accessories, and ammunition.
Training classes and range time are also prudent investments that can cost big money.
If you go hunting, purchasing the right equipment is a big investment, as is the investment
of processing your harvested meat.
Used guns can save you some money (usually 20-30%) on your investments, but make sure
to have them checked out by a knowledgeable person before you buy them.
3.
You Need a Big Gun
"Why do you NEED an AR-15?"
It's a common enough question by those who favor gun control, and if your focus is personal
defense, a smaller weapon would probably suffice.
When we get down to simple practicality, a lot of people who look at guns get weapons
far more powerful than they actually need, and in doing so, can put others at risk.
If you live in an apartment complex with people on the other side of the typical apartment
paper-thin walls, while it may be cool to own a larger caliber handgun like a .45, you
take the risk that a missed shot (which you are legally liable for) will go through the
wall and injure someone other than the person coming after you.
A smaller caliber firearm with the proper bullets can defend your life without creating
a higher risk of injury.
The same concept exists for hunting.
A lot of deer hunters tend to favor large rounds like the .30-06 Springfield (called
the 30-aught-six) to take down their prize whitetail.
The problem with the .30-06 is that in areas where the distance between you and the target
is likely to be less than 100-150 yards, the 30-06 is overpowered.
A less powerful round, like the 7mm or 270, is plenty powerful to quickly take down a
deer and not do major damage to the carcass.
I've talked to some hunters who encourage people to hunt deer with a teeny little .22,
but I ignore them because a .22 is more likely to cause the animal needless suffering, than
to actually take it down.
The key here is to think of guns as tools, and you need to pick the right tool for the
right project.
If you wouldn't use a 30 pound sledgehammer to pound in a nail for a family portrait,
then you probably shouldn't use an overpowered gun to hunt squirrels.
Similarly, if you wouldn't use a tack hammer to try to break up concrete, you probably
shouldn't use an under-powered gun to take down a grizzly bear.
2.
Gun Control and Crime Rates
One of the biggest debates in the US is whether gun control actually reduces the rate of crime.
Gun control advocates point out that other countries with heavy gun control tend to have
lower murder rates, while gun control opponents point out that, where strict gun control has
been implemented in the US, violent crime has skyrocketed.
So what's the truth?
Well, if we look at the top 20 cities for murders per 100,000 residents, we find that
nine of them are in seven of the states with the strictest gun control laws in the country
(Newark, NJ; Baltimore, MD; Oakland, CA; Philadelphia, PA; Stockton, CA; Washington, DC; Chicago,
IL; Pittsburgh, PA; and Buffalo, NY).
However, 11 of them are in states that have fewer restrictions on guns, with the top three
most dangerous cities (New Orleans, LA; Detroit, MI; and St. Louis, MO) all in states that
have a lack of gun control.
So what can we draw from this?
Well, the first thing is that gun control doesn't actually work.
Even if Chicago isn't as violent as New Orleans, it's still a violent place to be,
where handguns were banned up until recently and yet, mysteriously, people were still murdered
with them.
Scientific studies have backed up this conclusion.
It's like the laws against illicit drugs: those drugs are illegal and yet, people who
shouldn't acquire them still do so.
The solution?
Well, there is a correlation between gun violence and another metric: socioeconomics.
To put it simply, the same cities you tend to see on the top of the murder list are the
same cities you see on the top of the poverty rate list.
So the question then becomes: what can be done to lift those poverty-stricken areas
out of poverty?
If you come up with a workable solution, let me know.
1.
The Second Amendment
Lots of international folks wonder why the US doesn't just ban all guns, and the reason
is found in our Constitution: the Second Amendment.
The problem is that most people don't really understand what the Second Amendment means,
and the result is a lot of arguing on both sides.
So I'm going to try to help clear things up.
First, let's look at the text: "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security
of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
Now, to today's folks, the second part of the Amendment is fairly clear, but that first
section gives us a lot of pause.
Gun control advocates argue that, since most states have replaced the militia with the
National Guard, then the right to keep and bear arms for the average citizen isn't
really covered here.
Therefore, gun ownership is a privilege, not a right, that should be revoked.
The problem: that's not what the Amendment says.
You have to consider the historical context.
The US was a country born of war, where the average citizen could grab his musket or Pennsylvania
long rifle, walk out the door, and join up with some other average citizens as a small
militia group.
They could be used to conduct small raids against the British and their militias, to
weaken the armies prior to everyone fighting in the big battles.
When the war was over, the standing army was heavily reduced, and militias would be called
up if needed.
In other words: the militia was, pretty much, the military of the country.
This leads us to two elements of interpretation.
First: since common men could be called into service to protect the country, they would
need to be armed, and so, the right to bear arms would have been needed for national security.
However, the other element is that, because these men had just fought a Revolution against
the British militia and government, the right to bear arms represented the right of the
citizens to protect themselves against a tyrannical government.
In order to keep the government in check, the right to bear arms was needed.
This second interpretation is backed up, heavily, by the recorded discussions on the amendment
by Patrick Henry, Noah Webster, George Mason, James Madison and, ultimately by the Supreme
Court in US v. Cruikshank and Presser v. Illinois.
In other words, because a person could be called up to militia, and because our government
could become a tyrannical dictatorship, the right of the people to arm themselves shall
not be infringed.
Where the real debate kicks in, is whether this right can be limited.
And the answer to that question is: yes.
Much like your first amendment rights don't cover slander or screaming "fire" in a
crowded theater, your second amendment rights can be limited within reason.
The Supreme Court has said, in US v. Miller, that the government does have the right to
restrict access to certain firearms – in that particular case, a sawed-off shotgun.
There's also been a few cases – including the recent District of Columbia vs. Heller
– that have determined the rights of the government to restrict firearms access to
felons and the mentally ill.
In other words: the Second Amendment protects your right to bear arms, but can be reasonably
limited for the purpose of public safety.

Kate Middleton Fears after Queen Elizabeth Won't Live To See Prince William's Baby and Heir. - Duration: 2:13.
Kate Middleton Fears after Queen Elizabeth Wont Live To See Prince Williams Baby
and Heir.
Those royals really like to put on a good appearance and it seems that Queen Elizabeth
opted to leave King Edward VII Hospital last week against doctors orders just to avoid
speculation about her worsening health.
The 86-year old monarch has watched her health seriously decline in the last year.
According to the March 25th print edition of GLOBE the Queen spends each day in severe
pain from arthritis and sciatica.
She also has heart problems which have caused shortness of breath and other difficulties
in breathing.
The last thing that she needed was a bout of gastroenteritis last week.
The trots as the Brits call it, can cause severe dehydration and electrolyte imbalance
which is the last thing that someone with a heart problem needs to deal with.
The Queen knows that shes quickly reaching the end of her life but wanted to keep how
sick she really is from royal watchers so she decided to recover at home last week rather
than stay in the hospital as she really should have.
Her royal majesty refused to stay another minute in the hospital.
She insisted on going back to the Palace in a bid to stop speculation about the gravity
of her failing health. says a GLOBE source.
There is fear within the royal family that the Queen wont live more than a few months
more and that she may not be alive when the next royal heir is born.
Prince William and Kate Middletons baby is due in July and while summer will be here
before we know it, a heart problem could make hanging on for those few short months nearly
impossible for the Queen.
Should she have stayed in the hospital and perhaps gotten more care?
Do you think leaving too soon made a difference in the Queens overall health situation?
Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!

Ten Things To Take On A Mountain Bike Ride - Duration: 4:40.
- Here at GMBN, we love a good trail centre
but, as with any mountain biking,
being prepared is the name of the game.
- So these are the top 10 things we take with us
when going to a trail centre.
(solo drum music)
- Number one, a car boot kit
that always stays in the back of my car.
That includes a track pump.
It's obviously much quicker than using a mini pump
but also really handy for solving any tubeless problems.
And then, I've got this bag that has inside it a toolkit.
So that's just this bum bag.
I've got tools that you probably wouldn't want to carry
out on the trail so
a shock pump, one of these Topeak kits
with a slightly bigger range of tools in there,
some chain lube, and there's also a mini pump.
Any sort of bits and bobs that you might need
like spare cleats.
Then, I've got a tube.
I actually take a 27.5 Presta
'cause that'll fit in, basically, anything.
Some spare clothes, t-shirts, in case I get wet.
Then I've got a towel just to wipe myself down,
just a small one there.
The essentials, a mat to get changed on.
This is actually a surfing mat
so you can stick this on the floor,
stop your feet getting wet,
stick all your muddy clothes in there,
and then it ties up to keep them all
from getting everything else in the back of the car wet.
Spare socks, take them everywhere I go.
- Whether it's a fast blast
or a longer ride at a trail centre,
you definitely wanna go with some spare parts.
We tend to put these inside our hydration packs
and just leave them in there.
Always carry a quality little mini pump.
Some riders like to carry CO2 cartridges
but they're a bit wasteful unless you're racing.
Definitely carry a spare inner tube or two.
We recommend carrying a Presta valve
'cause that'll fit any rim drilling
and make it a 27 1/2 inch because it'll fit 29
and 26 inch wheels too.
Couple of tyre levers, always a great idea.
Decent multi tool, make sure that your multi tool
has a chain splitter on it
because that's gonna happen time to time.
Always a good idea to take some cable ties
because you can fix most sorts of things with those.
We also like to keep some gear inner cables with us.
They're good for seatpost controls
and also, if you snap your rear mech cable,
good idea to fix that out on the trail.
We also like to carry a chain master link,
whether that's eight, nine, 10, 11, or even 12 speed.
It's a good idea for repairing a chain quick
out on the trail, nice and safe as well.
Finally, carry a little bag of bolts and spares.
Inside this, I tend to keep chainring bolts,
brake boss bolts, and cleat bolts for your shoes
which can also double up as disc brake bolts.
- Number three, water.
Now, some people prefer to carry a hydration pack
with a bladder inside.
I actually, generally prefer to use a water bottle
and a bottle cage on my bike.
But that's only 600 ml so if I'm going for a bigger ride,
I will resort to using a riding pack.
- Number four, pile of loose change.
Perfect for the car park
and getting the cheeky coffee on the way out.
Number five, riding kit.
Definitely need some good quality padded shorts,
faithful GMBN jersey, and, riding in the UK
or anywhere else in Europe,
probably a decent waterproof jacket
just to stash in that pack.
- Food. Now, it's always quite nice
to have something on you just in case you need it.
But, especially for those bigger rides,
you're going to need to fuel them properly.
Fruit and nuts are a great idea.
Also, you could use sport specific things like gels,
you've got tabs that can go in your drink,
and also a recovery drink for after is a pretty good idea.
- Protection. So, of course
at the very least, you're gonna need
a good mountain bike helmet.
Obviously, the better quality,
the better it is for your head.
And also pick a helmet that's suitable
for the type of riding you do.
So this is a trail helmet
and it comes down lower at the back of your head
to give you that bit more protection.
Pads, so you can think about knee pads and elbow pads.
Again, appropriate for the type of riding you do.
And also eyewear, especially important
if you're riding in wet conditions.
Stop anything getting in your eyes
and potentially damaging your eyeballs.
- Always take your phone with you as well.
Obviously for safety reasons if you need to ring anyone.
Good for taking videos, taking a picture of your bike
for Bike Vault on the Dirt Shed Show.
And of course, keep it nice and safe and waterproof
in one of our little pocpacs.
- Number 10, take a riding buddy with you.
Of course, riding by yourself is fun
but it can be more fun using your limits with someone else
and, of course, it's much safer.

You Asked - How to be Successful - Duration: 1:08.
I'm Casey Thomas, your Future Sun Devils correspondant
and you asked: How can I be successful at ASU?
It's a lot different than high-school.
You're going to need to put aside a lot more time to study.
Time management is really important.
Balance your free time and your course list.
Study first, then go have fun with your friends.
You kind of just have to sometimes set them aside
and focus on what's important, and that's school.
You're coming here to learn something,
so work hard so that you can learn.
You got to take it easy. Don't party too hard.
And by party, you mean like board-game nights and stuff, right?
Of course, of course! All that friendly, nice stuff you know. Yahtzee.
Keep a planner and write everything in it.
Make sure you know what to do. Check blackboard.
Go to office hours. Go to office hours. Go to office hours.
Utilize the resources on campus.
The writing center in the library is a great one.
It might be scary meeting new people and
you might want to kind of hang out with your group of friends
you made from high-school.
Talk to people in your dorms, on your floor, people in your class.
You can make a lot of new friends just trying something new.
It seems like oh, college is such a big deal. But, if you
just do your work and go to class, it's manageable.

BREAKING: Robert Mueller's CRIMINAL Past Reveals He's Unfit To Lead Investigation - Duration: 2:59.
Now that even some leading Democrats have begun to question the idea that Donald Trump
and Moscow somehow "colluded" in order to win the 2016 election, the whole purpose
of a Special Counsel seems moot.
Furthermore, given Robert Mueller's past, one must wonder why he's even allowed to
investigate President Trump.
Back in 2006, the Justice Department found evidence that Mueller, then the FBI Director,
falsified testimony about the bureau's surveillance on an anti-war protest in 2002.
Specifically, the DoJ discovered that Mueller improperly opened and expanded investigations
into certain Left-wing groups (via Mercury News).
Put another way, Mueller is a liar who illegally spied on Americans.
Other revelations about Mr. Mueller also call his integrity into question.
In connection with the 2006 investigation into the FBI's illegal surveillance of an
anti-war protest in Pittsburgh, Mueller committed perjury by claiming the FBI was conducting
an anti-terrorism investigation into The Thomas Merton Center, a pacifist Catholic organization
(via Got News).
Mueller's bipartisanship seems doubtful given that his law firm worked with the Left-wing
Civis Analytics as recently as 2014-2015 (via Got News).
Many have also noted that Mueller has staffed his Russian probe team with many Hillary Clinton
donors (via The Daily Caller).
Finally, it has come out that Mueller played a significant role in removing the words "radical
Islam" from FBI training manuals.
This decision was promoted and supported by radical Islamist groups in the United States
like the Council on American-Islamic Relations (via Judicial Watch).
Many Washington insiders have long maintained that Mueller is a threat to the Trump administration.
Newt Gingrich believes that Mueller's sole goal is to find a "fall guy" for the bogus
Trump-Russia conspiracy, while Roger Stone has labeled Mueller as nothing more than a
"neocon errand boy".
It is undeniably clear that Mueller comes from the same Washington establishment that
loathes our President and his supporters.
Furthermore, it is abundantly clear that Democrats are currently using Mueller's investigation
as a cudgel against Trump.
Many have even threatened Trump with impeachment proceedings if he fires Mueller–a power
and right that he possesses (via Breitbart).
Rather than conduct an independent investigation, Mueller is only in Washington to disrupt,
discredit, and possibly aid in the impeachment of President Trump.
There are no other reasons for his investigation to continue.
President Trump: all American Patriots want you to fire Special Counsel Mueller and stop
this sham of an investigation.
Do not let the Left have its way anymore!
Do you support firing Robert Mueller?
Please share this news and tell us what you think!

[I'm too lazy to type it again, refer to earlier in the video if you want to know exactly what they're saying]
So they take a picture of a Pac-Man zit...
[Aw man, I'm a meme...]
Oh my god... (Insert the sound of a dying Ranked S Jabroni cackling)
Why does that exist!?
Alright...well there you go
Theres, yep, there was a new Pac Man show. As recently as 2014
I have to now discover if it was cancelled...
Um...
It's called Pacman and the Ghostly Adventures
I knew nothing of this
And uh...
It says here...
that...
it's still running
wait wha-
Tryin' to stay relevant, huh?
Is this really still running?
(I apologize in advance for the visuals fucking up here, I blame Sony Vegas, please do not hate me)
Series premiered um...
Has not aired...
(READ THE FUCKING SCROLLING TEXT)
So...it had like a year, two seasons, and then just...
They just...completely forgot about it
Just...totally fucking forgot about it
It's in Hell right now...
It's in Pac Hell
Interesting...
Yeah I didn't know
I really honestly did not expect Pac-Man to be revived...
For the modern generation of chill'ins ⊂(▀¯▀⊂)
Seriously
I would just imagine like 80's kids remembered Pac-Man and then...
maybe some 90's kids ( ◞・౪・)
And that was it
But umm...
yeah that's a really really bizarre thing for a very strange...
series that has taken a lot of turns, some not so great
